When I am not lurking ;) , I have given myself a reputation for being a windy, wordy, woman. :D So please forgive this first post. I can't write a goal without a plan. So after the plan is planned I will be able to pop on and be to the point.

Bottom line... My bottom's on the line! I lost a lot of poundage last year. YaY me!! :cheer: I am within spitting distance of where I want to be. The only thing that will get me there is the one thing thats elluded me ... Consistant Exercise. Dabbling doesn't get er' done. Unfortunately. :(

But this year, with this thread, and you ladies, I am going to make a concious committment to consistancy in the exercise area! 2008 I am going to change my shape!!

Here's the plan and what I previously apologized for... :^:

I've been talkin about walkin Bosko ( the adorable mutt in my avi ) and retraining him since I've gotten back to Austria. Teaching us both to run. Him not to run off. I have yet to take that dog out of this house once! Okay I did take him once but my husband was with me. I wanted to see how well he listened and was disappointed. Seems Bosko and I are simular in the disipline department. I'm no better. :sorry: I have only been out twice myself. In this beautiful hilly, mountainous terrain... An aside here: I can make it from my door, down the "Dreaded Hill" With 69 stairs and an incline to kill, around the Gast haus ( restaraunt )parking lot and back to my door in 11 minutes!! Not to shabby there eh. ;) Anyhoo, hence the training for both me and the dog. In my minds eye I see it going like this...

1) Do my just for me 11 minute get back and get everybody going for the day...

2) A just for Bosko walk. No time limit leisurely stroll allowing him to sniff and snort happily.

3) Bosko/Barbi training time. I have treats in my hand and teach him to heel better. We walk for a bit, run for a bit, walk, run, walk, run, treat treat treat.

It looks fabulous on paper!!

The first one I would like to do at 5:30 am. <~~ Major morning person here...That gives me plenty of time to get it done and get back to get the gang up by 6am. Even taking progression into account, me going faster or making it more challenging in time. I would still have enough time to get out and back.

Lets see now, everyone is out of the house by 7:15 am... So why cant I take Bosko at 8 or 9 am? Because I dread his lack of disipline? ~nods lots~ Okies writing helps... I will combine walks 2 & 3. Until we are both better at this. The first half will be teach n treat time. The second half will be see what we learned and re-enforce. Good idea me! :D We'll add this run thing later... Lets first get out of the house. ;)

Fruits n Veg? Eh.... I have no problems eating. Its choosing wisely. Today I choose to make it a priority that I get 3 in before noon. Ensuring that by dinner time I will have 5 plus. Smile

New rules:

3 before noon!

3 half litres of water a day. (that may be ammended when I convert ounces to equal. )

3 - 30 minutes moving time. Total 90 minutes. Either combined.. ooOOOoo

My 11 mighty minutes will be stretched to 15 minutes. Instead of turning around at the Gast house I will go the bridge and do 3 sets of 10 push ups and dips against the rail! YaY me! I'm a genious!! Mini upper work out with a major lower! WOOT!!

Then the Teach & Treat. Lasting 60 minutes.

Ending my day with another "mighty minute" routine. Either in the afternoon or after dinner!

My goodness I am a Brilliant woman! I really need to spend more time with me! :sssh:

So it is written ladies.....

I am so glad this thread is back. I used to only lurk, :o but have decided to participate from now on. Yesterday, I did 35 min. on the elliptical (then my knee started) and 25 min. on the recumbent bike.

Today I was back on track with my trainer and did 15 min. of heavy duty warm up on the regular stationary bike and 55 min. Pilates. It was so tough after his two week vacation and my two week's of too much partying and too little staying on plan! Oh, and the 20 minute brisk walk to and from the studio (10 min. each way). :running:

My quickie 15 minute morning routine turned into 30. As the path, stairs, and haughty hill were a solid sheet of ice! Good thing I had gotten myself as a stocking stuffer these little rubber spike cleat thingies. You just slip them on to the bottom of your boots and viola. Wasnt sure about them at first but WoW! What a great lil gizmo. :D

That was all I was able to do due to the changing weather. I'll have to think about other things to do when the weathers bad. But I promise to do my thinking in my head next time and just give you all the short but "sweet" version.

I feel tired and bloated today.

Amanda, May I ask you a question?
You've lost a lot of weight and it is obvious you are a total exercise nut, hehe I mean that in a good way.

I was wondering, on day's like today when I am feeling tired and bloated, I don't really push myself very hard and I am basically going through the motions. I do work up a sweat but I don't get as winded as I do when I really go for it. Is it better to just skip these day's or is something better than nothing? What are your thoughts?

Anyone can answer this too. All opinions are welcomed. :)

Ilene

Definitely something is better than nothing. When I have a cold, I try to do yoga or strength train. When my knee was all weird, I was swimming...I mean, no, it wasn't as intense as being on the elliptical, but it was something. Not only do you still burn some calories (which is still positive), you also maintain the HABIT of exercising every day. "I don't feel well, I'll skip today" is, to me, a dangerous habit to start. "I will do whatever I can, even if I'm not performing at my best" is a GREAT habit to start!

mandalinn82

Goldia - go to Ticker Factory (http://www.tickerfactory.com). Click on "Exercise and Fitness Ticker". Walk through the process, adding in your units, ticker graphics, goals, and current value. When you get to the end, they'll have code for bulletin boards. Copy that code, paste it into your 3FC signature, and you're done!

Then, when you need to update it, click on your ticker, enter the password, and change your cumulative value. When you save, your ticker here will update automatically.

Ok, I have been doing the biggest loser Cardio DVD for the past week and a half. I am doing Phase one so it is only a 30 minute workout right now, but it is intense, but I am not complaining, too much lol. But I have admit that I feel more attractive already and I can see the difference~! I don't care as much about what the scale says, because the changes in the mirror are telling me everything I need to know. Ok, so maybe the changes aren't signifigant yet, but if I can keep this up I know I will be one hot mamma by June! Sorry for all that I feel proud of myself and had to tell someone!!!

LOL so anyways getting on with it: I did 30 minutes of my DVD Cardio workout and I am sure I will do a lot of baby lifting today!

Now I am sitting at my desk shivering with a fever and totally congested . . . DRAT!!! I really wanted to make up time that I missed by working till 11:00 PM last night.

Do you guys think I can do at least some cardio with this cold?

55 min stairclimber, but at a very high intensity.

Goldia, I follow the above/below neck rule. If all symptoms are above the neck (nasal congestion, scratchy throat, headache), working out is fine. If they travel below the neck take a break. And ALWAYS listen to your body (if you have a throbbing migraine, for example, it may be above-neck, but working out isn't going to do you ANY good).
