LA Weight Loss - figuring out body weight percentage?
01-02-2008, 05:11 AM
A friend of mine popped a question the other day... I have lost 93 pounds to date.
I'm not sure how to calculate it to see how much of a percentage of overall body weight I've lost since starting to lose weight last may.
Any suggestions on how to calculate it?
Divide 93 by your starting weight and you'll get the percent of your original weight that you've lost.
For example, let's say you started at 250 pounds. Divide 93 by 250 and you would get .37, meaning you've lost 37% of your original starting weight.
Hey, this is fun -- I've lost 47% of my original weight! :carrot:

Thanks! I haven't had a math class in quite a few years lol, but even then, I can't recall ever being taught this little trick :)
I went on the scale today, and found out I've lost an additional 2 pounds this week, so that means that with 95 pounds lost from my starting weight of 293, I've lost 32 % of my original body weight.
Thanks for your help! :)
That's awesome! That's a whole third of you gone, gone, GONE!! :cp:
