Fitness Videos - Walk Away the Pounds--January 2008 Daily Check-insotypical 01-21-2008, 10:08 PM How many minutes a day do you guys spend exercising? I already did an hour this morning but part of me wants to do more tonight, I keep telling myself I already did enough! haha So how much is too much? Shy Moment 01-22-2008, 01:01 AM sotypical For me it can depend. I pulled that darn hamstring and when I think it is better I over do it and have to slow down again. Generally was doing 1 mile walking/aerobic video in the morning about 15 to 20 min, 2 or 3 mile walking/aerobic video in the evening 30 to 50 min Mon-Fri and then on Mon/wed/Fri about 40 min resistance training. I don't do as much as most other do. Comes out to about 1 1/2 hours a day or so. Saturday I shop and that takes about 2 to 3 hours so that is enough walking lol Sunday is my day off. I was told you should give the body at least 1 day a week of rest. Grumbleworts 01-22-2008, 06:29 AM Shy Moment - Hamstring? Ouch! Hope that feels better soon. Take it easy! As for me, I did one mile Sunday, and 2 last night. LynseyLikes2Lose 01-22-2008, 06:55 AM I do one every afternoon for sure. If I'm up early enough I'll do one in the morning too. I just figure they aren't that hard and I have time so why not? I haven't skipped a day since I got back to them a couple Sunday's ago. I think you are supposed to let your body rest but mine's telling me I want to do the workouts. sxulcmnky 01-22-2008, 09:10 AM i did the 1 mile last night.... and 55 sit ups i did 100 sit ups and 5 miles on friday.... Dusty4800 01-22-2008, 09:21 AM Hi Sunday day off Monday 3 fast miles Tuesday 3 miles w/stretchie cathyxxx 01-22-2008, 10:45 AM good morning gang  I did 2 miles this morning. Used the Walk Slim 4 big miles and just did the first 2 miles. hope everybody has a blessed day! hugs, Cathy okie in il 01-22-2008, 10:56 AM Good morning all! I did the 1 mile WATP Express this morning. Well on my way to my 5 hours goal this week. Hope everyone has a good day. sotypical 01-22-2008, 12:21 PM Shy - 1.5 hours is crazy! haha, hope that hamstring gets better soon! Lynsey - I agree about taking a day off, I usually take two days off a week but didn't last week - I just want to keep going! it is so fun! haha In a week or so I should have more time then maybe I can do two videos a day or something. This morning I did 20 min on my bike, and 3 advanced miles with strechie - this one was on the express dvd it was a lot of fun! I wanna do that one again! cbmare 01-22-2008, 12:23 PM OK. I think today is totally my fault. I don't know why, but I've been going to bed early since last Thursday night. I've been sleeping and sleeping hard! I guess I must have needed it because for about 2 weeks there I was awake every couple of hours because of my foot. I decided to turn back over and sleep in this morning. My clothes are laid out and if I can get out of work early today, I'm going home and doing the 1 mile. If I can't, then tomorrow morning is my restart. I feel I should go back down to the 1 mile express. It's much slower but less intense. Shy Moment 01-22-2008, 12:27 PM cb When I go thru pain with my knee or this darn pulled hamstring. I start right back at the watp 1 mile. Very slow pace, good workout. Gives me time to get back into the swing of things. You take it easy. Sotypical I don't do all that at one time lol. I know people that go to the gym for hours. Not me, I am just to darn lazy for that lol. Thedy 01-22-2008, 02:54 PM Shy moment, you are doing great!!! Congrats. Right now I am where you started at and hope to go down to 160s. Wish me luck :-) --Any tips? A quick question for you or anyone else willing to help... I lost my ticker (the weight tracher thing...) and I don't see how to get it back!! Could you please help? I cannot even find that option in my profile settings... Txs much! I did the 5 mile WAP today cbmare 01-22-2008, 03:46 PM You have to have 30 posts. Apparently there were some spammers coming in here and attaching spam to their tickers. I don't know when the rule went into effect but the server was busy and the board was inaccessable several times yesterday and quite a few people are complaining today. sotypical 01-22-2008, 03:50 PM I am so tired my eyes burn. And I really want a latte (skim of course!) sxulcmnky 01-22-2008, 03:59 PM i'm aiming to do the 3 mile tonight, maybe the 2 mile... only time will tell Shy Moment 01-22-2008, 05:44 PM thedy First on the top left you will see user cp. click on that and then on edit ticker. That should get you to the instructions. Or, you can click on private messages top right and then on edit ticker. Seems like I have been doing what I am doing forever to get this weight off lol. I know, I know hasn't really been that long but it feels like it some days. I have tweaked what I am doing from when I started. I ate lots of lean cuisines and lean pockets at first to get portion sizes and fat under control. Then I started making sure I eat the required amounts of the four basic food groups ( generally at least 95% of the time ). I use a salad plate for breakfast and lunch and a lunch plate for dinner. I found that if the plate wasn't full I didn't think I was eating enough. I use fit day to keep track of what I am putting into my body and to make sure I get the things eaten I need to eat. I allow myself between 1200 and 1400 calories, 30 to 35 grams of fat and 180 to 210 in carbs. I can be over from time to time and that is ok. As long as fit days shows I am within those amounts for the past week that is all I worry about. If I eat something that really throws me over, I watch what I eat more closely until those averages are back to where they should be. The weight isn't coming off fast, about 1lb a week but I sure have less to lose today than I did 36 weeks ago. I have changed how I think about, look at and eat food. There is nothing to go back to. Nothing to crave, nothing to fall off the wagon for. I don't do without a thing. I know if I have that mountain dew that I so love today I can't have another snack. I wait until tomorrow for something else. This journey I am taking to a more healthy thinner person isn't about doing without. It is about eating right and having the things I love in proper portions and within reason. I also exercise. Not as much as other people do that is for sure, I am lazy lol. I do a walking/aerobic video every morning Mon-Fri, generally only one mile which is only about 20 min. I do another one in the evening usually 2 mile but I can do the 3 mile ones now most of the time, only about 30 min or so. Mon\Wed\Fri I do some kind of resistance training either with dumbbells or stretch cords with or without handles, usually about 40 min. Saturday I shop so I walk for at least 2 hours doing that and I do laundry so I don't workout then. Sundays is my day of restm sure I clean house and finish laundry and then take the rest of my time to make the kids do their chores lol. Hope this helps you. There are so many people doing so many things to get the weight off and keep it off. Wish I had the 10 inches you have that I don't have lol. mj5 01-22-2008, 06:51 PM Hi everyone! I haven't had a chance to keep up with everyone, but I have been doing a dvd just about every day! Yesterday was a 1 mile in the morning and the ab workout on the stability ball after work...WOW did I feel that today! This morning I did a one mile walk from exercise tv on demand--it was ok, but not as intense at the dvd that I have. If I am up early enough, I will do a 2 mile tomorrow. I bought new sneakers, so hopefully that will help my knee at least a little! Have a great night! LynseyLikes2Lose 01-22-2008, 08:20 PM I just finished my Walk and Kick. Had to do a short one tonight cause I like to watch Biggest Loser. Grumbleworts 01-22-2008, 09:17 PM Did the 2 mile again tonight. TOM is here and I don't really want to do ANYTHING, let alone workout. But a good thing is that the 2 mile is getting easier, so I'll have to move on permanently pretty soon. :) milleradah 01-22-2008, 09:18 PM hello ladies how is everyone doing ...well i have not been doing my workouts for a while now. so after a 10lb gain thought i better get my butt back to watp...so to get me going again i bought the walk away the waistline. have any of you used it. how does it compared to all the others. i have most of them. have a great night adah sxulcmnky 01-23-2008, 08:01 AM did the 2 mile last night... was going to do the 3, but didn't start it until 730 and i watch NCIS at 8.... (biggest loser is recorded, will watch it tonight) tonight i will do the 3 mile and tomorrow morning before boarding my plane to SD i will do a 3 mile... that way i don't have to be awake when i get to SD and have energy (after being airbound for 7 hours) to do one okie in il 01-23-2008, 09:47 AM Good morning. Last night I did 30 min on my elliptical while watching TBL and 2 mile express this morning before work. Hope everyone has a good day. cathyxxx 01-23-2008, 10:48 AM good morning gang  :cheer: everybody is doing GREAT :cheer: I did 2 miles this morning. I did the WATP 1 mile and then the 1 mile booster. hope everybody has a blessed day! hugs, Cathy Michele L 01-23-2008, 10:50 AM Good morning! Yesterday we had a snow day, which I almost completely WASTED by being lazy! I did finally do a workout at about 4:30, though. I chose the 3 mile Express with the stretchie and it felt good. I didn't want to get up this morning, so I'll have to do something this evening. Looks like everyone is doing well. Several of you have had injuries--TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! You won't be any good for anyone if you're on the injured list! Have a great Wednesday! Michele  jestock2 01-23-2008, 11:20 AM Finally getting over my cold. I did the Walk Away The Pounds Express 3 Mile Walk with Stretchie for the first time. I liked it and I am tired now. Everyone is doing great! You all motivate me to get going! Have a great Wednesday!!! sotypical 01-23-2008, 11:35 AM This morning I did 3 miles of the 4 mile super challenge! And then I jumped on my rebounder for 10 min (so much fun!) Thinking I might do another 2-3 miles tonight after work, but I have lots of work today (some side work) so maybe not - but we will see! Happy Wednesday everyone! My goal today is try and get my blog back up and running and me posting in it, lol Shy Moment 01-23-2008, 11:39 AM Jest Thats great. I like that workout too. It is a tough workout, three miles always is. So far it hasn't gotten any easier for me lol. We hope to put a little smile in your step or at least help you not want to kick the cat lol. Mich There is no such thing as a wasted lazy day lol. We all need one from time to time. Cathy Oh I just got the booster in the mail. I can't wait to try it. Looks fun. sxul I thing a nice walking video is just what you need after getting off that plane. Will give the body a nice stretch after being cooped up for so long. Might make you feel real good. Miller I happen to like the walk away the waistline. As with most of them, they are pretty much the same, this one is about the same too. I happen to like the videos where she has people with her and is very chatty. I love her upbeat chatty workouts. Grumble Don't leave the videos behind that you really like. I still do 1 and two miles everyday. Throw a three mile in there from time to time. Moving the body and enjoying doing it is very important. I just read somewhere you burn the same amount of calories no matter how fast you do the mile. It is just doing the mile that matters. I have a bunch of the 1 and 2 miles videos. I do several of them a day. mj I am going out this week or at least this weekend to get a new pair of sneakers lol. My feet are now not staying stable in mine and the darn things aren't that old. Lose weigh in our feet to I guess lol. I did talk to a trainer and she said that might be why I keep hurting this one leg. I need tighter shoes. I said oh ya well where do I go and get a 1 1/2 in aerobic shoes, she just laughed. My feet are moving up and down in my size 2's. Dusty4800 01-23-2008, 11:54 AM Hi Everyone Yesterday I did the 3 mile w/stretchie in the morning then again last night before watching the biggest losser then this morning I did the 4 fast miles I was so happy that I did the 4 miles it was great Hope you all have a great day Dusty cbmare 01-23-2008, 12:13 PM Welcome back, Adah! Several of us have the WAT Waist with the belt. I use it at times just go get a different workout in. GUESS WHAT??!!! I got to work out this morning! :carrot: Neither my foot nor my knees bothered me! It felt good! I did the 1 Mile Express with the stretchie. I didn't use the purple one. I wanted more resistance so I used the pink one. I'll be picking out a different one tonight. I think I can do a faster one. Shy, you wear a size 2 shoe? I didn't know they made adult shoes that small. You poor thing! You must have an awful time finding shoes. Do you have to shop in the kids dept? cbmare 01-23-2008, 12:24 PM Somewhere on here is a post I made about the wife of a coworker noticing me. Well, she's started WATP. She does the 1 Mile WATP. He says she's up every morning and the sweat is pouring off her. Yeah Her! He says that seeing me, knowing I'm right behind her in age, post menopausal and losing weight, she's doing it, too! I sent links for Fit Day, Fit Watch for her own recipes, Calorie Count and the 2 dvd sources you lovely ladies mentioned. I think she will get bored with 1 dvd and will want to get some more, so the places you've mentioned are great! They live in San Francisco and the weather here has been so crappy and dark in the early mornings. She doesn't want to go outside. I don't blame her. He said she was on the computer half the night setting up Fit Day and entering in values for her food. I guess she's really starting to take this seriously. I hope she succeeds. I didn't tell her about this site yet. I kinda like to keep this as my private place. However, we don't run in the same circles and I seldom talk about work. I'm pondering telling her. What do you think? sotypical 01-23-2008, 12:28 PM mare - I tell everyone about 3fc! lol but that's just me Do you guys sweat lots when you do the WATP? I mean I sweat but not as much as some of the people on the video :/ maybe I am not putting enough effort it.... cbmare 01-23-2008, 01:17 PM It depends on how cold my room is. During the summer, I sweat ALOT! Even in the early morning! However, I'm in a room that is in the 40s right now so I don't even though I put in the same effort. Don't forget, those people are under some hot lights as well. If you are seeing results, then why change? However, you might want a bit more intensity so you can push your arms forward when you are doing the kicks or up 2 and back 2. sotypical 01-23-2008, 01:26 PM Not seeing results yet! trying to give it a few weeks, haha this week I am going to measure when I weigh, haven't measured in over a year! lol sotypical 01-23-2008, 05:23 PM Do many you do one mile walks? I was looking at the one mile pack on Leslie's website (http://www.lesliesansone.com/store/product198.html) the jog one looks cool, but one mile doesn't seem like much? cbmare 01-23-2008, 06:28 PM Courtnie, depending on how intense it is, 1 mile can be a really big workout. I'm back to 1 mile because I had to take so long off because of my foot. I've just got to look through mine and find a more intense one. Thedy 01-23-2008, 10:14 PM Today I decided to switch to 30 min. elliptical so that my body will not get used to the same exercise... tomorrow I will do one of Leslie's DVDs again. Thanks Mare for answering my question about the weight tracker. LynseyLikes2Lose 01-23-2008, 10:24 PM I got home late tonight so I just did Walk and Kick again. I'm getting really angry that my new ones haven't come yet. I need to mix it up. I'm getting anxious for the 4 Really Big Miles. cathyxxx 01-23-2008, 10:35 PM Courtnie - I don't sweat a lot when I'm exercising, but I sweat more when I'm using the Walk Slim dvds. I don't sweat near as much as they do on the dvds. Like Mare said - those people are under HOT lights. I'd probably sweat more that way too. I have a fan blowing on me when I work out. ;) The only time I do just 1 mile is when I only have 15 minutes to walk and that doesn't happen too often. But I do like using some of her 1 miles walks by putting a couple together to do what I want - like this morning, I did her WATP 1 mile and then the 1 mile Booster. The 1 mile Booster came in the one mile pack you showed. I found it at Best Buy for under $15. sotypical 01-23-2008, 10:44 PM I was going to do another video tonight, but decided to just jump on the rebounder for 25 min. Michele L 01-24-2008, 07:47 AM No workout for me last night. It was a BUSY day at work and then running the kids to their church group. By the time I got home, I just didn't want to do anything. Got up late this morning. Didn't want to get out of bed when I heard we had -20+ ACTUAL temps (-35+ with wind chill)! skinnyvanilly2b 01-24-2008, 10:07 AM I have the 5 mile advanced walk, and i just started the 3 mile walk a few days ago and i wanted to give me a boost for tomorrows weigh in so im so proud of myself.. i did 4 miles of the 5 and boy was i sweatin like a you know what!!! It was very challenging, but i did it for the 1st time!! yay mee!!! cbmare 01-24-2008, 10:27 AM I decided to baby my knee and foot 1 more day. So, I did the 1 mile express with stretchie again. Michele, I can't fathom temps that low. Dusty4800 01-24-2008, 11:02 AM Hi I did the 3 advanced miles w/stretchie Dusty sotypical 01-24-2008, 12:23 PM skinnyvanilly2b - I have the 5 mile advanced as well, the one that uses the strechie, hand weights and walk belt? I have never tried to do the 5 miles! I just do the 3 mile versions, lol. So this morning I did the 4 mile super challenge and 5 min on my rebounder, I just love that little rebounder, put on my fav songs and dance/jump it makes me feel really happy and good after cuz I just sign along and don't care if I look like a fool! lol sotypical 01-24-2008, 01:34 PM this one comes with all the dvds! http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail for only $3 more then Leslie's site! I wonder if it is going to be back in stock? :( I want!!!! LynseyLikes2Lose 01-24-2008, 06:58 PM This afternoon I did WATP 3 Mile Abs. That makes my arms burn after a bit. I love it. LynseyLikes2Lose 01-24-2008, 09:14 PM I think I'm going to go do another 30 minute video. I just ate supper at my mom's and it was homemade chicken noodle soup. I'm stuffed and thinking a workout sounds good. I may just do a couple miles of one. We'll see. cbmare 01-25-2008, 10:52 AM Looks like Shy is MIA again. She must be out looking for those size 2 shoes. I got up to really rainy and windy weather. I'm so glad WATP is an indoor workout. I was listening to the trees creaking against the fence. I did the 1 mile express with the stretchie again today. cbmare 01-25-2008, 10:54 AM Courtnie, I have that set. I love it! Those are some real intense workouts. okie in il 01-25-2008, 11:07 AM Good morning everyone! I haven't felt good the last couple of days because of TOM being here. But I did manage 30 minutes on my elliptical last night. I'm going to have to make up some time somewhere so I can get my 5 hours in for the week. I hope everyone has a great day! Shy Moment 01-25-2008, 12:12 PM cb I thought a size 2 was hard to find lol. I am back in 1 1/2's and boy are they hard to find and I need a wide size too. Have found a couple but darn I didn't want to have to mortgage the house to buy them lol. Finally have my computer together and now am installing all my programs. This takes time with all the housework and laundry and baking to do. I should be all caught up with the computer by Sunday night :) Glad everyone is doing well. Want to thank that wonderful person for the package I got in the mail. :)))))) Can't wait to pop them in and have some fun. I am sure glad I don't sweat like some of the girls on the videos. My gosh at the end of the three miles they are pouring with sweat. I don't even break a sweat lol. sotypical 01-25-2008, 12:18 PM This morning I just did the first 2 miles of the 3 mile express with the strechie. Kinda depressed about this, not that i did two miles I just didn't get to put the full effort in I wanted - it was such a busy morning so I had to pause it a couple times - but hey, it's better then nothing! So I am going to try and order that pack from that site - hope the wait list isn't too long! LynseyLikes2Lose 01-25-2008, 10:59 PM I bought the Walk at Home 5 mile advanced dvd today and after walking around the mall all day I did all 5 miles. I LOVED miles 2 and 4. That's the kind of workout I've been looking for! cathyxxx 01-26-2008, 10:12 AM good morning walking buddies  everybody is doing great! This morning I did the 3 mile weight loss dvd with 2 lb hand weights. Now I've got to hit the shower and then hit the road. I sure could use a day of doing nothing but that ain't happening today. ;) hope everybody has a great weekend! hugs, Cathy jestock2 01-26-2008, 02:05 PM Hello everyone, I did the 3 Mile Express walk with purple stretchie this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Dusty4800 01-26-2008, 03:52 PM Hi everyone I did the 4 fast miles today Sunday will be my day of rest Hope you all have a great day Dusty CountryGirl18 01-26-2008, 05:24 PM Can anyone tell me some info on this video? Is it all just walking? Do you walk in place? cbmare 01-26-2008, 11:13 PM  Countrygirl There are many different videos. You start out marching in place then add side steps, knee lifts and kicks. You can do them as intense or as gentle as you wish. You are walking in place but with the moves. She moves you around the floor. Some of us do some of the more intense workouts. However, I think just about all of us started out with the 1 mile ones. Leslie has other things she adds in such as weights, a belt and a stretchie. I went to the library to find fitness videos. I kept re-renting the WATP ones. I finally had to buy it because some mangy polecat put a hold on the one I was using. Now I have a library. Please join us! After shopping just about all day, I decided to do a late afternoon workout. I did the 2 mile fat burning one with the belt. Michele L 01-27-2008, 09:23 AM You did better than I did, mare! After shopping pretty much all day, I took my daughter to The Great Debaters. It was a POWERFUL movie, but by the time I got home, it was bedtime. I'll try for a workout today (in between grading a ZILLION papers, cooking for 2 potlucks and trying to clean the house)! LynseyLikes2Lose 01-27-2008, 10:39 AM Yesterday I didn't do a video. My butt hurts soooo bad. (Sorry so blunt.) I think I might've pulled something. But, today I decided to get back at it anyway. I did the 3 Mile Advanced Walk with Stretchy off the 5 mile video. That is fun. And now I know if I just have about 20-30 minutes I can still get those 2 fast miles in at least without stopping. sotypical 01-27-2008, 12:33 PM I did nothing yesterday! woo! I need a break, I have been exercising everyday for at least two weeks. I will have to do something today, maybe a video or some rebounber or both... we shall see! It's actually a beautiful day here - but cold - maybe I can get the boyfriend and the dogs to go for a walk at the water front, or my dad and I can can do the 6km around the lake! that would be fun!! Michele L 01-27-2008, 06:03 PM I found myself a new workout! I was at Sam's Club this afternoon and discovered Leslie's new Walk & Firm (with a stretchie) for $8.88! AND it comes with a certificate for a year's subscription to Fitness magazine! What a DEAL!! They had several other workouts (both Leslie and others), but this is the only one that appealed to me. I have everything else of Leslie's and I just haven't found any other instructor that I can tolerate. After supper, I will do my new workout! Cheree 01-27-2008, 06:44 PM I've had this one sitting on the shelf for awhile, gathering dust and it was time to try it out!!! I did the Leslie Sansone Short Cuts - Upper Body Workout and it was a VERY good upper body workout (which I need badly). I am also going to do one of my 2 or 3 miles WATPs. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!! :carrot: Michele L 01-27-2008, 09:26 PM Well, I did my new Walk & Firm tonight, plus the bonus 1 mile adult walk included on the DVD. It's a great workout--I'm going to be FEELING the lunges and squats tomorrow! sotypical 01-27-2008, 09:26 PM I ended up doing the fast mile from the 5 mile advanced, but I did it twice - so two miles. And 30 min on my rebounder. PurdueGirl98 01-27-2008, 10:48 PM Hey ladies, since I never get a chance to update anymore I just wanted to stop by and say hello and say that I am now up to 14 miles per week. I hope to work my way to 18 miles by the summer. Its so motivating and I feel so much stronger, keep at it ladies and good job!! Hopefully once my hours slow down at work Ill have time for daily updates again! Shy Moment 01-28-2008, 12:06 AM Hello everyone Have to say I love Leslie. I love how chatty and funny she is. I couldn't work out with her and not join in. She is very inspirational. Her and I are the same age, she makes me know I can look like she does again. LynseyLikes2Lose 01-28-2008, 06:57 AM Last night when I got home from my family get together I did the 2 fastest miles on the 5 mile advanced workout. Makes me feel great! I need to break through this dumb weight. jestock2 01-28-2008, 09:26 AM Good Morning everyone, Finally turned the corner on this sinus infection Ive had. I did the 3 mile walk this weekend and went bowling yesterday. I plan to get going this morning and get in at least the 2 mile express walk. Hope everyone has a great Monday! cbmare 01-28-2008, 12:18 PM I wimped out yesterday. I was busy shopping and running errands. I'm glad I'm not putting off everything I need to do for this upcoming cruise. I did get up this morning and do the 1 Mile Get Up and Get Started with the belt. Michele, I have that one I think. It's just a little warm up and then the rest of it is with the stretchie, right? I like that one. I have to have a warmer room to do it. It's too cold in the mornings right now and I have to keep moving. Cheree, it's good to see you back on here. gottagetfit 01-28-2008, 12:23 PM I'm new to the forum and just started MRC. I am just starting out with exercise and thought about getting a walk video - do you really feel like it works as well as walking outdoors - I need something that I can do at home and don't want to spend the money on a treadmill. Shy Moment 01-28-2008, 01:28 PM :welcome3:Gotta I have almost 30 of the walk at home videos. I love Leslie Sansone. Sure safer to do them at home. I know I would probably never get my butt out to do the walking if I wasn't doing them at home AND you are doing aerobics with the walking. Much better for you than just walking. cb Yes, I bet you are busy. The walking/aerobic videos are so easy to do and they don't take much time either. Did a 2 mile walk away the pounds express this morning. Makes me feel good. They don't do a lot of upper body in that one so I just do the upper body moves that I always do in the other videos. jest That has really been going around. I seem to just about get rid of it and back it is. Nice going on exercising. Makes you feel good doesn't it. Hope you stay feeling better Lynsey I don't lose any more weight rather I exercise or not BUT I can sure see the difference in how my body looks. Toning is really coming along nicely. Hope the exercise does more for you than it does for me in the loosing weight category. sotypical 01-28-2008, 02:06 PM Today I did the two fast miles from the 5 mile advanced two times each - so 4 miles! I put myself on the wait list for the slim fast system from QVC - could be a while before I find out if I get it or not, so I think I am going to order some other ones on ebay later today! :) Dusty4800 01-28-2008, 02:45 PM Hi Everyone Today I did the 2 express miles w/stretchie & 3 advanced miles w/stretchie I love using the pink stretchie Dusty sotypical 01-28-2008, 03:34 PM I have a list of DVD's I am looking at... only going to order 2 or 3 for now. What are your thoughts on these? Express 2-Pack: 1 & 2 Mile Walks 30 min walk 1 mile jog 3 mile weight loss walk walk away your waist line (I already have belt) walk and jog gottagetfit 01-28-2008, 03:45 PM Where is the best place to find the walk DVDs? Shy Moment 01-28-2008, 04:00 PM gotta You can find them all over the place. I happen to love yard sales lol. Ebay and amazon are two places you can find them. LynseyLikes2Lose 01-28-2008, 05:33 PM I have Walk and Jog and I like it every now and then. I've ordered Walk Away your Waistline but it STILL isn't here. I'm still waiting on the Really Big 4 Mile one too. I have a question though. Do any of you track on the daily plate and if so, how do you track these videos? I think they are counting too many cals burned for my video but I want to be sure. Do you do walking or aerobics or what? LynseyLikes2Lose 01-28-2008, 07:10 PM I just finished the first 4 miles of the 5 mile video. I'm going to do the fastest mile after we eat to get the full 5 but my sister showed up so I thought I better stop at a good in between point. Shy Moment 01-28-2008, 10:19 PM Lynsey I don't use daily plate I use something else but I count them as arobics and walking. tinabinab 01-28-2008, 10:28 PM Hi all - it's been forever since I posted, well, because its been forever since I've worked out at all. :/ Anyway, today I came home, put my shoes on, told DD that Mommy was going to exercise, wiped of the inch of dust from my WATP dvd and went to work. I did the 2 mile High Calorie Burn. I'm so glad that I took that first step again. :) Looking forward to posting often.... no excuses. :) sotypical 01-28-2008, 10:51 PM I did the 5 mile advance before dinner... phew! I was dripping in sweat! I haven't done the full 5 miles yet, just the 3 mile ones! What an amazing work out! that's a total of 9 miles today! wohoo! Twentytogo 01-28-2008, 11:22 PM I feel great, it was a great workout day for me. I did 3 mile walk (Leslie) and 47 minutes of Slim N Six Ramp It Up. sotypical 01-28-2008, 11:36 PM SO I ordered some DVDs! I had 3 all picked out I wanted and then went I went to order the seller I was buying from was sold out of one of them, so I picked something else. When I was done and went to pay I realized the seller has a store - like other then the ebay store! They sell LOTS of her videos there, a little bit more expensive then the ones on ebay though - anyway so I ended up with FOUR dvds! YAY! I can't wait for them to come! I hope they can hold me over till I can get the walk slim kit from QVC. I ordered: 30 minute walk 3 mile weight loss walk and jog express 1 & 2 mile dvd (easy walk and brisk walk) this was their site... that I found AFTER buying on ebay, LOL - but like I said - there were a few dollars cheaper on ebay. www.totalfitnessdvds.com Cheree 01-28-2008, 11:39 PM Hi WATPer's!!! I feel so good, I did the 3 mile WATP with weights workout tonight. I used my 3 pound weights throughout it and picked up my 5 pound weights when Leslie said to start using weights. It really helps me to kick it up a notch. I also tried to pick up my legs more throughout...it seemed to really make a difference. :carrot: cbmare, did you find a swimsuit yet? LynseyLikes2Lose 01-29-2008, 06:51 AM I've decided I'm not going to count my exercise at all. I'm just going to log what I eat there so I know how many calories I'm putting in my body. Michele L 01-29-2008, 07:43 AM Lynsey: I read on another forum (spark) that someone contacted Leslie's site and asked how to log the videos. Their response was to log them as a 15 minute mile of walking. They said that between the pace and the extra movements it was equal to walking a 15 min mile and to NOT log it as aerobics because it counts it as burning too many calories. Her site also says you burn about 100 calories per mile without a booster and about 125 per mile with a booster. Of course, that only approximate since it's partly based on how hard you push yourself. Hope that helps! Michele  jestock2 01-29-2008, 08:42 AM Thanks Michelle for the information. That helps me out alot! I just finished the 2 Mile Walk Away the Pounds Express DVD, now I can chart it right! cbmare 01-29-2008, 10:53 AM Cher, I haven't found a swimsuit. I think I may take in the legs on my old one. My problem is that the chesticles need one size and my legs need a smaller one. I don't like the 2 piece ones because the tops are floppy and don't seem like they'd be prudient while in the water. Our heater started kicking on at 3AM just to keep the house at 60. I knew that back room would be too cold. Besides, I went to the dr yesterday. He told me that he's seen it before but not very often. My feet were out of alignment with my ankles. I'm to take a day off and then resume. I wanted to work out every day up until the cruise. However, I missed Sunday. I guess taking 1 more day off won't hurt considering I'm going to be walking quite a bit when we go ashore. cathyxxx 01-29-2008, 11:05 AM good morning gang  everybody is doing great! and WOW Courtnie - did you do 9 miles yesterday? WOW! I got up a 5 am and did 3 miles of the 4 mile super challenge. :cheer: Michelle - thanks for the info. I always wondered about how many calories Leslie's workouts burn (approximately) but wow I would have thought it was more calories burnt than that ;) hope everybody has a blessed day! hugs, Cathy sotypical 01-29-2008, 01:47 PM Michele - thanks for the info! very very helpful! When I entered in 65 min of aerobics exercise I got 500 calories, when I did 65 min of walking 15min/mile I got 410 calories - so there is a difference! I log how many minutes I do - but I usually ignore how many calories I burn. The only thing is, I did 5 miles in 65 min today but when I do the math when the 15 mile/min it works out to 4.3, lol. sotypical 01-29-2008, 01:48 PM So this morning I did 5 miles! I did the 3 mile advance with the hand weights then I did another fast mile and the strechie band mile! wooo! Sorry for making another post back to back but for something reason my enter key is NOT working on this website today.... WEIRD! (it works in other stuff) haha.. Dusty4800 01-29-2008, 02:53 PM Hi Today so far I did the 3 advanced miles w/stretchie hoping to get another 3 or 4 miles in before watching the biggest losser tonight Dusty Michele L 01-29-2008, 06:52 PM Glad the information helped! If my workout is an odd number of minutes, like today when it was 4 mile in 55 minutes, I do the math to see what the pace works out to be and find the closest thing. That workout worked out to be a 13.75 minute mile (average over the time). I track minutes, too, but it's nice to have an idea of the calories being burned. I also have a heart rate monitor, which is invariably low compared to any website data I've found. Not quite sure which is closer, so I just sort of casually track calories burned. Anyway....today I did Walk Slim 4 Really BIG Miles. I started it and then the Schwan's guy came, so I started over (was only a couple of minutes into it). We got out of school at 11:15 due to FIERCE winds and the prediction of several inches of new snow, so I had the afternoon off. Hope everyone's week is going well! Michele  LynseyLikes2Lose 01-29-2008, 08:25 PM I did 3 of the fast miles today. Then I did some exercises with the stretchy band while I watched tv. Shy Moment 01-29-2008, 09:41 PM cb I love that you can buy suits now top and bottoms different. I love the new shorts and kind of tank tops that are swim suits. They cover the chest and fit and then you can get bottoms that fit too. I didn't get it but I did find a two piece ( regular skimpy bathing suit ) in a large that fit. My husband looked at it and said it was fine as long as I wore it IN the house WITH the blinds drawn. They didn't sell a top with enough material to cover enough of my chest for him to be happy lol. Shy Moment 01-29-2008, 09:42 PM I kind of do the same thing every day but different videos and different resistance training routines. Today was Walk Away The Pounds Express 2 mile, Walk At Home Slim 2 mile, You Can Do With Leslie Sansone Pilate's and Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start Fast Firming. Cheree 01-29-2008, 10:09 PM I did my favorite again, WATP's 3 mile with weights. Those DVDs are no longer readily available and I have a friend who is asking me for suggestions for which DVD(s) to get. She's not a beginner, so she'd probably need 2 or 3 miles one (possibly even a 4 mile one) that is pretty challenging...what would you all recommend??? Thanks!!! sotypical 01-30-2008, 10:57 AM Did 3 miles advanced with strechie from express dvd cbmare 01-30-2008, 10:58 AM Shy, I found one yesterday but didn't get it. The top looked like pasties over the chesticles. I have a feeling they'd be swinging free if I tried to move in it. You sure did a lot yesterday. Cher, has she looked at Leslie's site? She might be able to pick out one there and then go elsewhere to buy it if it isn't on sale. There have been a couple of excellent suggestions for places a few pages back. Oh, Cher, how's your son? I pulled my aching body out of bed this morning and braved the cold backroom. I did the Walk Slim Two Fast Miles. My legs feel like rubber. Feels great! sotypical 01-30-2008, 12:20 PM Shy - just reading the bikini post - I have one that I love! I bought the original in Hawaii for like $90 or something, it fits PERFECT - I finally worse it out and was so sad until I looked on ebay! I found the same brand bathing suit and ordered two more for like $60! The brand is JAG and they make up to D cups! And they are halter style! they are awesome! They make all different ones - anyway, I have never been able to find any that fit in the top like this one! http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-JAG-SWIMSUIT-black-white-bikini-D-cup-XL-bottoms_W0QQitemZ120211269884QQihZ002QQcategoryZ63 867QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQtrksidZp1638.m118.l124 7QQcmdZViewItem Shy Moment 01-30-2008, 01:37 PM sotypical Ohhhh thank you. Am going to check that out. I swear the ones I found, if I put all the material together from both sides it still wouldn't have covered one sides lol and that is the way it was SUPPOSE to fit lol. cb I have a story for you. A few years ago we were all at the state park with the kids to swim. There were, of course, quite a few people there with their children. This woman, beautiful and well built, was there with her boyfriend and some other friends. What she was wearing couldn't be called a bathing suit because there wasn't anything to it. I thought, oh great, do you really have to dress like that around my children. WELL a great many other people thought the same thing, including men. I would guess 3/4 of the adults there told her and her friends to leave. This is where family's come with their children to swim not to make porn movies. Not kidding this really happened. An argument of course broke out. The park ranger came over and told the woman and her friends to leave they were causing a public disturbance. If she wanted to come to the beach she had to put some clothes on. cbmare 01-30-2008, 02:24 PM I take it she was wearing dental floss? Courtnie, there is no way I'd wear a 2 piece like that. I need one that covers the gut! However, I'm still searching. Gonna go out during lunch and try 1 more store. I'm so frustrated. If I get one with a print, I look like somebody's overstuffed sofa. I'm working my way down to love seat. Shy Moment 01-30-2008, 04:31 PM cb We live in a very conservative town. Dental floss would have covered more lol. I love the sofa comment. I use to think of myself as a bus. Now I am just a mini van. sotypical 01-30-2008, 05:30 PM You girls I funny. I am fat and I wear a bikini, I DONT CARE! LOL yes my fat hangs out, but i like them better then a one piece! Daimere 01-30-2008, 06:35 PM I did Walk slim 2mile today. ^_^ Cheree 01-30-2008, 07:37 PM I take it she was wearing dental floss? I have a swim suit that you could borrow if you want...let me know and I'll bring it when we get together. I'm getting ready to do one of my WATP tapes tonight (a new one, I just haven't decided which one). I tend to be an early evening exerciser...I just can't get my act together in the mornings. Shy Moment 01-30-2008, 08:00 PM Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start Fast Firming, Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start 1 & 2 Mile Walk, Walk Away the Pounds Express With Leslie Sansone ( 2 ) 2 Mile Brisk Walk and Walkarobics With Leslie Sansone 2 Mile Walk ( Miracle Mile Walk ) are my favorites at the moment. That can change lol. I love all of them I do. I am looking for one that comes up to the belly button. I have a dozen stretch marks from when I had the kids and I like to keep them covered. Want the ones on my breasts covered too. Don't yell at me lol. My daughter does. " MOM I have more stretch marks on one thigh than you have on your whole body." lol LynseyLikes2Lose 01-31-2008, 07:05 AM Not sure why mine isn't showing up but I did the 3 mile advanced with hand weights plus another one of the fastest miles to end it last night. Dusty4800 01-31-2008, 09:09 AM Hi yesterday I did the 3 advanced miles w/stretchie and 3 fast miles from the walk slim ill be doing the same today its the lasy day of the month and I feel better and my clothes are getting bigger How was this month for you ? Hope you all have a great walking day Dusty racerwife07 01-31-2008, 10:32 AM Hi Ladies, I'm new to this exercise thing, but what the heck I 'm going to try the Walk Away the Pounds DVD. I will have great success this time, because I'm in control. (Positive attitude = Positive results) How did you all get weight loss tickers? I tried the cut and paste and it wouldn't work. WHAT AM I NOT DOING? Thanks for the support and your motivation Christy cbmare 01-31-2008, 10:53 AM :welcome: racerwife! You won't be able to get a signature or ticker until you've made 30 posts. I suggest you spend some quality time responding to posts today and get your 30. There were some mangy polecats coming in here and putting spam in their signatures and tickers. So, TPTB made a rule. It's a shame that some ruin it for the rest of us. Which dvd are you doing? Cher, I actually found some yesterday. I think I will try them on again over the weekend and make the final decision. I'm kinda upset with myself because I got rid of all my mumus. It would be nice to wear some on the boat. I got up and did the 2 Fast Miles again. sotypical 01-31-2008, 11:09 AM This morning I did the 4 mile super challenge, I really like that one :) cathyxxx 01-31-2008, 11:12 AM good morning gang  I was really rushed this morning so I did the 2 fast miles of the 5 mile dvd. hope everybody has a blessed day! hugs, Cathy Shy Moment 01-31-2008, 01:26 PM :welcome3: Racer I love the WATP vidoes. Enjoy. Keep posting and you will have that ticker before you know it. Yesterday was Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start 1 & 2 Mile Walk, Walk Away the Pounds Express With Leslie Sansone 1 Mile Easy Walk and You Can Do With Leslie Sansone Pilates. I was lazy that was all I did. cbmare 01-31-2008, 01:51 PM Lazy? What you talkin about you cracked egg butt minivan? That's a lot! Did you get to change your ticker again? Shy Moment 01-31-2008, 02:38 PM cb Ok you got me. You made me  Still need to lose 1 more lb to put another cheerleader on. cbmare 01-31-2008, 04:45 PM Who? MEEEE???!!! :o  milleradah 01-31-2008, 05:01 PM hello everyone well i got in my walk away the waistline dvd today wow i thought that 3 miles was going to kill me ...lol boy i can tell it has been a long time since i have worked out. it has only been a few moths but i was feeling it today.....keep up the good work everyone and keep walking adah Shy Moment 01-31-2008, 05:08 PM There goes the innocent act. In case you hadn't noticed that halo is kind of crooked because of the horns inside of it lol. miller I love the WATP waistline vidoe. Isn't it great. Yes we feel it but that is good Cheree 01-31-2008, 08:16 PM OK, I kept trying to figure out cbmare's comment about "cracked egg butt minivan"!! Now I see the "cracked egg butt" on Shy's ticker and the eariler reference to minivan. :D So, I was happy that I did a new WATP DVD I've had for awhile, it is Walk Away the Pounds for Abs (with the waist belt) and I did the 3 Miles - Super Fat Burning one. Thanks cbmare for the suggestion of holding the ends of it so I could get more resistence with my short arms, worked great! Also, I usually was trying to get a workout in at night, but I did this one this morning and I really liked getting it out of the way for the day. I was feeling pretty good about doing the 3 mile workout until I came here and read that some of you are doing MULTIPLE DVDs each day! What's with that?? :dizzy: For instance, Shy Moment (AKA cracked egg butt minivan) said she did: "Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start 1 & 2 Mile Walk, Walk Away the Pounds Express With Leslie Sansone 1 Mile Easy Walk and You Can Do With Leslie Sansone Pilates(!!!!)" and then she calls herself lazy???? :faint: Cheree 01-31-2008, 08:20 PM Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start Fast Firming, Walk At Home Walk Slim With Leslie Sansone Fast Start 1 & 2 Mile Walk, Walk Away the Pounds Express With Leslie Sansone ( 2 ) 2 Mile Brisk Walk and Walkarobics With Leslie Sansone 2 Mile Walk ( Miracle Mile Walk ) are my favorites at the moment. That can change lol. I love all of them I do. Shy, not sure you were sending this list in response to my post, but thank you even if you weren't!!! :D cbmare 01-31-2008, 08:56 PM Cher, glad you figured it out. I don't know if doing that much in one day is beneficial. I think we should ask one of the trainers on here. I've heard somewhere that more than about 45 minutes doesn't do much any more unless you do something else like weights. I was so full all afternoon. I didn't even want my snack. Cheree 01-31-2008, 11:11 PM Cbmare, yeah, I didn't eat a snack or even much for dinner. My husband ate the leftovers I brought home! That was great bar-b-que! BTW, I'm so glad that there was a supply of forks in that container on the table...I would have been far more embarassed if I would have had to ask for a new fork each time I flipped mine on the floor. :D Call me *klutz*. :dizzy: I think that doing multiple DVDs will allow you to burn off more calories, but I think beyond a certain point, you don't really get additional benefits for your heart. :carrot: Shy Moment 02-01-2008, 01:47 AM Cheree You can also tie knots in tubes that are clipped to the belt, that is what I did. Gives more resonance. NO RESPECT AT ALL. Do not listen to THAT person. She is Trouble with a capital T lol. My poor little egg. That is a beautiful little chick cracking the shell to come out of the egg. It is NOT A CHICKENS BUTT. lol. I am reading the messages to the hubby who is on the phone with me on his way home from work. He is laughing and laughing. cbmare 02-01-2008, 10:55 AM It is so a cracked egg butt! It's a white chick bending over. I overslept this morning. So, no workout for me. I don't know if I'll be able to get off work early to get one in before dinner. To all you new walkers, please don't think that we argue much on this forum. It's just that Shy needs to be picked on every now and then. Dusty4800 02-01-2008, 11:02 AM Hi Its Feb.1st and Ive got my red on I didnt know how to start new thead but any way I did 3 advanced miles and 3 fast miles this morning okay have a ggreat walking day Dusty Cheree 02-01-2008, 12:12 PM Can anyone start the new thread for Feb.? He said this morning. Welllllllllll I guess if you look at it right, it does look like a chicken bent over. You can have him lol.
