Hello and :welcome: to the Jaded Ladies site!

We are a group of ladies that come here for support and encouragement on our weight loss struggles, and we also find time for some chitchatting. :gossip: So please, won't you join us? New members are always welcome.

Good morning, ladies!

I had a great Christmas, and hope you did, too. Time for me to clear the house of toxic foods, and to take the decorations down.

Also, I gotta do laundry, the hamper is beginning to spill over! :dizzy: Life goes on, right? :D

I'll chat more with you later.

12-26-2007, 03:48 PM
hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end....just putzing around online while we wait to leave to go pick up my sister. then we are probably going to do a little bit of shopping since we are meeting her and my dad at a local mall that is half way between our house and their house. Tommy did the laundry this morning, so I will have to get that folded sometime.

Good Afternoon Ladies....

Woke up to a light dusting of snow this morning! We usually don't see snow until the end of Jan, beginning of Feb. Too bad it didn't fall yesterday morning, would be our first White Christmas in YEARS!

Well lets see, during the weekend, I ate lots, didn't exercise much so come Friday, we'll see what kind of damage I have done. If I gain, I'll just have to work on losing it. I plan to get myself back on track and behave better.

At least now that the holidays are done or slowing down, the stress of getting everything together is finally over and I can catch up on some much needed sleep. At least try to. Today I have off, yet I woke up early. Figures.

Ok....I'm going to try and keep up and pop in here more often now that Christmas is over. For I go to clean up the house and then try and take a nap.

Hugs to you all.

Back to the grind come tomorrow...*sigh I enjoyed the sleeping late...ok both days I was up early but I could of slept late if I wanted to!.

I don't know if anyone else is having problems getting into the other chit chat,,,I have tried to go in and read but it freezes up on me.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I was seriously spoiled. But then I did my best to spoil everyone else. I really don't think my eating was too out of control. My enighbours brought over some baking,,egads that was bad. But in 5 days split between 4 people I can say it could of been worse.
Did anyone go and do some Boxing Day sales? I was at the mall by 9, for my leather jacket...walked out with a totally different jacket I was planning to get. I bought Monte his birthday present there also.
Bought the boys some jeans,,,and the best deal along with my jacket. Was some sheets that are 800 thread count. It was on for half price. I was all over that like bears on honey. We also got Brandon another kitchen appliance. Ya would of thought we were at a bridal shower with all the appliances he got for So I think for Valentines day I will give him a roll of heart shaped cookie dough and the *toaster oven* we picked up for him...

Well I should get back to doing a bit of cleaning.
ps Jules....anything yet?

Hi Ladies

Finally got the new laptop and got it on line. Had a nice quiet Christmas. I figure next year all those who went out of town will be here next yeat and I will be cooking a lot so I really enjoyed the first time ever that I can remember that I didn't have to plan and cook for a lot of people. Felt kind of strange. Catch you tomorrow.

12-27-2007, 12:38 AM
Hi All.....

Glad you all had a Great Christmas.......Only 6 1/2 more hours for me to go! :woohoo: My boss called, said I could leave an hour early in the AM. :) Which is good news. ;)

Oh DH heard about the supervisor job -- he didn't get it. He is kinda bummed about it of course, but like I told him, maybe he is meant to get something better........I know that doesn't help any, but you never know.

That is about all from my end, at least for now.

Take Care Everybody!

12-27-2007, 01:24 AM
hello is every one?

nothing new just again putzing online. we went and picked up my sister and walked around the mall for a little bit. then we picked up a couple of things that the kids needed, then we came home.

Jules~ Any news yet?

12-27-2007, 11:47 AM
Good morning, ladies,

Mindee - sounds like you're having fun with your sister. Does she live fairly close to you, or did I miss something? Love the new avatar!

Marti - glad you're getting resting and will be able to pop in more. Did Jhanai have a good Christmas?

Angie - I wish I could get a deal like that on sheets. I love the high thread count ones, and in king size, they cost an arm and a leg at regular price.

Trish - glad you got a break this year. A big WooHoo for getting the laptop all fired up! I sort of miss mine....

Sassy - aww, sorry about the job for your sweetie. But, it just wasn't meant to be, and you're right, something better will come along.

Jules - is Dominck here yet??

Hello to all others.

It seems we're all looking forward to a fresh start for the new year. I know I did some serious overeating, but have got all the junk out of the house. New Year's Eve will be another challenge, though.

I need to get back to walking everyday, too. Our Florida vacation is just 2 months away, and I want to strengthen my leg stamina before then.

12-27-2007, 11:57 AM
Angie - I just tried getting into the old thread and didn't have a prob. Try it again, ok?

12-27-2007, 01:00 PM
Good morning...I thought I would come in here to baby blue banners and "welcome Dominick" signs. Where is that little stinker? (exactly what Teri and Jules are probably thinking)

A good Christmas was had by all here. Like everyone, I ate too much and exercised too little. Now time for a new beginning. Yet again!

I was surprised with my gift from DH. Not jewelry like some...but a 22 inch flat screen monitor. Yay. My other one took up so much space and had a small screen. This one is super!

I spent yesterday doing laundry, taking down decorations and packing things to the attic. Walked a mile and rode 2 miles, so getting back in the swing of things.

Glad you are all happy and healthy! Back soon.

12-27-2007, 01:12 PM
Good Morning ladies!

More light dusting of snow. It's raining now, nothing is sticking. Hubby went to work yesterday to plow snow off the tracks up the mountains, says one guy was walking then all of a sudden he was chest deep in snow!

Jane--I also did some serious overeating, but MUCH better than last year! I hope I didn't gain too much. Makes a difference for me when I don't exercise and I haven't done that since last Thursday!( At least I think it was Thursday, I don't even remember) Tomorrow is WI, we'll see how bad I've done. (darn those chocolate sweet treats!)

Mindee--What did you get your kids from the mall? I went to Old Navy yesterday and that was it. Didn't want to be amongst the high traffic all by myself. Got my DD a couple more pants and some tank tops. (It's winter and I'm buying her tank tops!!!)

Sassy--Sorry that hubby didn't get the supervisor job. But as you said....there is always something better that'll come along. I worked Christmas Eve too, and I work New Years Eve. I got to go home early Christmas Eve, hope I get to come home early New Years Eve too.

Trish--A break from cooking is a Christmas gift in itself! Glad you got your laptop going, I thinking that I might want my own too...hubby has one and DD's dad is wanting to get her one next year since she'll be starting high school....I think I must be feeling left out!

Angie--We had a wonderful Christmas this year. I loved all I got. My favorite is the "faerie Journal" hubby got me. I'm not sure what it is about the book, but I just love it! DD went crazy w/her gift: Guitar Hero. Played it all day. I tried it and boy......I'm awful! I have no hand and eye coordination!

Hello and Good morning to the rest of you. Come on in and tell me what you got for Christmas.

Tonight I'll be walking. And eating today should be much better. Can't continue on celebrating like I have or I'll be right back to where I don't want to be.

I need to shower and get ready for work. You all have a wonderful day! I only had to work three days this week....fantastic!

Better get moving.

Hugs to you all!

Good Morning Ladies

Well it is nice having the laptop here in the living room with me, I'll just have to regulate my time on it as I go overboard being on it too much if I don't watch myself. I have reading and other things I want to do besides the things I have to do and need to do. This will be a quick hello. Bug guy comes to spray the house today and I've got to go get my nails done. I let them grow too long because I wore red nail polish (DH favorite color) for Christmas and didn't want to get the color changed until after Christmas. They get too long like they are now and it makes typing difficult. My DD and DS wears theirs long and types. I don't know how they do it. Need to go to the store to pick up a few things today. It's supposed to rain the next 3 days and I can't complaign after the drought we had this year. We will gladly welcome it. I just don't like to get out in it unless I have to.

Speaking of DS. I haven't heard from babysister, but my other DS said that she did and the doctor said that everything is healing up nicely with her first injury. She said they do everything different now. So I guess the doctor in GA knows what he is doing after all. Glad to have a second opinion though and to know she will be okay. I guess I'l hear from her when she gets back home next month.

Sunday was my weigh in day and I lost 3 lbs. Hope I haven't messed that up by eating out and eating Christmas day. We will see Sunday if I at least stay where I am or not. Trying to learn to use the IE and put more fiber into my diet. So we will see how that works for me.

Well better run, got to pick up around here a bit and get DH up before I leave since the bug guys will be here when or maybe before I return from nail salon. See ya later. Y'all have a great day!!!

Jules - Still waiting for Dominick to make his entrance? All ready letting you know thatg he is the boss. LOL

12-27-2007, 01:16 PM
Sue--You snuck in! What a great gift! I should have taken my decorations down yesterday, I always do the day after, but this year I was feeling lazy!

Trish--You snuck in too! FANTASTIC on the 3lbs down! That is wonderful, especially during the holidays! Great job!

Now....I need to get going.

More hugs to you all!

Just dropping by with a HI

Too many posts to try and catch up so will just start with the next thread hopefully. Haven't gotten in any computer time in since last Saturday I believe.

So glad we had/have our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve because I was sick as a dog on Christmas Day...nothing like puking your guts out all day. A little better today but not much. Going to call the doc tomorrow if it's not better. Was in to see her WEdnesday to have the stitches removed and talked about the sickness so we'll see what happens tomorrow. On a good note...I was down 2 pounds, lol. Not my official WI so we'll see what happens then. Not the best way to lose weight either. Anyway...more of the icky stuff coming again tonight...supposed to get 2-6 inches again. Tired of this crap already. Aren't I just the happy camper today, lol.

Have a good day!

12-27-2007, 04:15 PM
hello is every one doing?

nothing new on this end....just hanging out around the house.

Jane~ My sister lives two hours north of us, up in the area where we used to live.

Sue~ Great job on keeping up with your exercising!

Jules hasn't been on her myspace since yesterday, so I am guessing that she is really busy and maybe, just maybe, little Dominick is on his way!

Marti~ Holy cow that is a lot of snow!!! Brandon got some underwear, and then they all got socks, Logan got a pair of Cars pajamas and then the boys got a new DVD. The mall has a Target connected to it, so we just went in there. The mall surprisingly wasn't as packed as we thought it would be! But then again, we also met my dad and sister there in the early evening. So everybody that had to take stuff back had already been there and gone home.

Trish~ Great job on the loss! I had a slight gain, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been.

Cristina~ I hope you feel better soon!

12-27-2007, 05:05 PM
I am sorry to say there is no baby news yet....I am as anxious as everyone here. Poor Teri is starting to swell a little. She actually worked 6 pm - 10 pm Wednesday night and started getting some contractions that faded away to be nothing. We have a doctors appt Friday morning so I am hoping she will have news that she can head on over to the hospital or be induced this weekend.

12-27-2007, 07:07 PM
I hope that they send her to get induced! I had swelling with Brandon, so I know what she is going through. It is not fun at all!

12-27-2007, 09:18 PM
Hi Ladies.........

Nothing much going on here. Just relaxing. I slept like the dead Guess I was really tired. lol.

To Everybody: Thanks for your support for DH, but I know he'll be just fine and he is meant for something better. ;) Glad you all had a great holiday, except for poor Cristina -- hope you feel better! The flu is going around work like wild fire!! I wish you all a Very Happy New Year and hope that all your dreams come true. :)

12-28-2007, 10:40 AM
Good morning, ladies!

Sue - don't you just love the flat panel monitors? They take up so much less room. Glad you had a nice Christmas.

Marti - yay for a short week, this week and next, too. What did I get for Christmas? I very seldom mention what gifts I get for Christmas, birthdays, etc, but I'll make an exception just this once. Let's see... Neal got me a 30" gold chain that I'd been wanting, and also the most beautiful necklace - it's a filagreed oval with the dove of peace on it, and has an inspirational saying imprinted on the back. It touched me so much that I almost cried. He also got me a wide up emergency flashlight/siren thingy to keep in the car, in case of emergency, plus some small items in my stocking. The kids got me perfume, a bath set, a Sudoku game, beautiful gold earrings, a blue silk scarf, and 3 gift cards. What about you?

Trish - I guess you mean DS as Dear Sister and not Dear Son, right? :) A big WooHoo for your loss! That's great, especially right at Christmas. I'm so glad you've got the computer. Means you can come in here a lot!

Cristina - so sorry you were sick, especially on Christmas Day! Hope you're feeling much, much better now.

Mindee - well, I'm glad your sis isn't too far away.

Jules - how'd the doctor visit go today?

Sassy - glad you got some rest, hon.

I've been feeling so much better now that my eating is back in control. I've actually been craving salad, veggies, and good stuff like that.

It's raining, but I still have to go to town and get some groceries. Also want to pick up my photos.

Have a good one!

12-28-2007, 01:22 PM
Good Morning Ladies--

Today is WI and sure enough, I gained a pound. 146.2lbs. I thought it was going to be more but only a pound which isn't too bad. And instead of moping about it like I usually would, I've been planning in my head a routine that I need to do to get back on track. I did my walk and floor exercises last night. I plan on cutting back on all the sweets (hmmm....should really consider giving it all up!) and just plan on eating right.

Who all has to work New Years Eve? I do but with all the doctors offices being closed, it's been slow for us (I am finally caught up in my work....first time all year!) and so they're thinking that we'll be able to go home early. I don't have any plans so it makes no difference to me.

Jane--What did I get? As I've mentioned before, I got a Fairy journal. Called Fairyopolis, A flower fairies journal:
It was just so much fun and mystical that I just wanted it and my hubby remembered! I also got some nice sweaters and Victoria Secrets body lotion and scrubs. Very nice Christmas.

Sassy--Sounds like you needed the sleep. Hope you get even more!

Mindee--Later in the day is always a good time to shop "after" the holidays. "Before" the holidays its always best to shop in the morning.

Cristina--Sorry that you've been sick. Hope you feel better soon.

Jules--Tell Terri that we're getting anxious here! I was late w/my DD. Those last two weeks were the longest ever! Now I wish I could go back and start over!

Ok....MUST get moving and get ready for work.

You all have a great Friday and cheers to the weekend!

12-28-2007, 03:37 PM
Hello Ladies:)

Jane - Yes DS is Dear Sister. Sorry forgot about it meaning son too. We are getting rain here to finally and Thank God. We need a lot of it. I think I talked DH into not getting out in it as we went to the store yesterday. He needs to take one of his "toys" he got for Christmas back, but we have to drive to NC to do that and the traffic will be terrible on Friday coming home. I think we are going to do it Monday. We'll see.

Marti - Sorry about the gain, but it will come off quickly. We have eat out a lot and ate ham Christmas day and once since then and so I may see a gain Sunday. I know you are glad to be caught up at work. Nice DH remembered what you wanted and got it for you for Christmas.

Cristina - Sorry you were sick. Hope you are feeling better.

Sassy - Glad you got some much needed rest. Ive been doing that lately and not sure why I seem to need so much sleep lately. I think it is because I stay up so late with DH now. I seem to remember when I worked nights that I needed more sleep and when I didn't get it that I was sick more. I always worked even though I was sick, but I remember a lot of us night people did.

Jules - I agree with others that we are anxiously waiting to hear from you to tell us we have a baby Dominick or what the doc had to say.

Mindee - Glad you are able to spend time with your sister. What fun. My sister back in TX and I visit on the phone every Saturday. It is one the highlights of our week that we both look forward to.

I'm sure I missed some and I apologize for that. I hope everybody is having a really great day.

12-28-2007, 04:48 PM
Hello ladies...

Feeling a little better today...still nauseous for some reason. DD thinks she's funny and said maybe your pregnant, ha ha ha. I think it's just a flu bug.

Glad everyone had a nice Christmas.

Chat later

12-28-2007, 05:17 PM
Ugly, rainy, gray day here. I have not accomplished much. I put a 5 hour stew in the oven, colored my hair and helped Mom bathe her dog. Talked to DD from CA for awhile and e-mailed DS and DGS. Being lazy and keeping warm.
DH went down south to play cards and I just wanted to stay home. We go to French Lick for 2 nights for our WA in Jan. and then a week to Vegas the end of the month.

Jane- Glad to hear the you had a wonderful family Christmas. I am enjoying the monitor and can even read it without my glasses. I imagine you are getting the cold, nasty rain. Best to stay indoors.

Marti- One pound will come off quickly. You have done so well. I know I have gained back what I lost in the summer. I haven't even tried much since Mom was in the hospital. SO guess what I am planning for the New Year? Not a resolution...just a promise to myself.

Trish- Sounds like you enjoy the new laptop. I can use DH's laptop if I want to, and do occasionally. Hard to get used to after the desktop though I think. Now I will never want to use it after getting this big monitor. Did you go to NC or plan to wait until Mon?

Cristina- Oh darn, I am so sorry that you were sick for part of the holiday. That really stinks! Hope you are able to spend lots more time with Josh before he goes back. I am assuming he is staying with the GF. Don't they forget mama when a pretty girl comes along? LOL

Jules- I know you must be so anxious for the baby boy. Hope there was good news from the Dr. today. Nothing seems to compare with the first time you hold that new grandbaby in your arms. I was there for the birth of all 4 of my "grands" and each one was so special. Wow, I almost got tears just thinking of the births.

Sassy- Hope you continue to get rest and feel good. Sorry, like everyone else, about DH not getting the job. Bummer! Did you guys ever decide to try for the house he liked?

Mindee- Sounds like a nice time at the mall with your sis. I must admit I prefer Target to most of the mall stores here. I am not much for the high end stores. I like Penney's and Kohl's....that's about as far from Target as I get. lol

Angie- I have been seeing some nice leather jackets and coats in the AFTER sales.....and I really need one. I am so bad about putting off buying things for myself until..."I lose the weight." Isn't that what we do ladies? So hard to break that habit.

I know I am missing someone, and I am sorry if it is you....I am trying to hurry here. Thinking of taking a little nap. I still have to go out to the shop and pedal the bike for half an hour too...ugh.
Any plans for New Years Eve anyone...(besides Marti working that is.) My SIL/BIL invited us to their house for the evening with several others to play cards and celebrate. Depends on how Mom feels and what the weather is like since it is an hour and half from here. We usually stay off the roads.

Have a happy week-end ladies.

12-28-2007, 05:19 PM
Cristina- That is soooooo not funny, huh? Hope you feel better soon.

12-28-2007, 07:43 PM
Hello ladies... DD thinks she's funny and said maybe your pregnant, ha ha ha.

Hey, Cristina, maybe you ARE preggers, and you'll deliver before Teri!!

12-28-2007, 07:56 PM
Before individuals--baby news from the visit today. If little Nick doesn't arrive by Friday the 4th, she will be induced. They did something called stripping the membranes today. She's 3-4 cm dialated but not effaced yet. She's hoping for this weekend. She's not feeling well so they didn't go get Lily today. We did find out she's been having contractions but she said they didn't hurt so she didn't think they were. The midwife told her all that tightening she felt were indeed contractions.

Sue--I definitely can't wait!! I work New Year Eve's dauy until 6pm and we don't have any plans at this time unless the baby actually decides to try to be the first new year baby born.

Cristina--sorry your feeling bad. You know...a lady that goes to my moms church was going through menopause and had a son ready to graduate high school and a daughter in college when she found out she was pregnant....

Trish--it's so nice that you get to talk to your sister once a week. My brother and I started calling each other to plan mom's bday and have kept it going.

Marti--DS and his ex exchanged Christmas gifts (these two can't stay away from each other...) He got her a tin with fairy notecards in it and a fairy ornament to hang from her rear view mirror.

Jane--hubby and I have decided to try and eat more raw foods--lots of fresh veggies. We do eat alot already. Friday night is always broiled salmon & a big salad.

Sassy--I am glad you got some rest. I am not sleeping good. I keep waiting for that phone to ring and last night I kept dreaming Teri was having the baby.

Mindee--we were hoping they would induce her this weekend but she has to wait the first opening wasn't until next Thursday and Dave has to work so she took the Friday date.

12-28-2007, 08:06 PM
Me, my brother & Mom on her 75th birthday

12-28-2007, 10:39 PM
I am reading these messages to DD and she is laughing, lol. But yeah, that is soooo not funny! I think I would literally die!

Anyway, hello ladies again! I will do individuals tomorrow for sure. Just a little bored so thought I would stop by and lurk a little.

JULES...that is a great picture of the three of you. I saw it on your myspace and loved it as well as the other pictures.

Have a good evening.

Jules,,,ahh poor Teri. I had told Monte that a Jaded Gradndbaby could be born on his birthday....guess not. I was induced with Brandon, (my water did a slow leak for days,,and here I thought I had issues with my bladder) But hoping things happen for her soon.

Marti,,,ooo I want what you Funny about Guitar Hero,,everyone I know got one,,,and have been going nuts. I haven't really seen any of them in Im thinking fingers are like plucked down to the nubs. We got Wii this past summer but Christmas we bought more games,,,and my brother Arden joined us,,,we played,,,and played. My right shoulder is aching so bad,,from bowling...and golf. I just love playing the game. Had my nose out of joint for some time when both kids beat me bad in Cooking Mama. Im the Mama,,Im the one who cooks!
Monte also bought me a spa package. 90 minutes of massage and facial.
Brandon bought me all of the Il Divo CDs...which will go into my Ipod Tanner got me. (its the little clip one that has 1 button-figure I can work 1 button)
I also got a manicure and pedicure set.

Sassy, sorry to hear about hubby not getting the position. That bites.

Jane, I figured out why I couldn't read the other chit chat,,,I had my pop up blocker on high. So I guess I have to put up with Zwinky to read the Dang that Zwinky!

Anyone have big plans for NE?

Well I am exhausted,,,have a nail appointment tomorrow,,take down the decorations,,,Take Tan to an all night gaming party,,,*shrug and then Take Monte out for his Birthday. Im tired just thinking about it.

12-29-2007, 01:05 AM
Marti,,,forgot to mention your book you got is similar to what I got Monte and his pirateology...he loves pirates and ships...and has been knows to speak a bit of pirate on bad days,,,arghhhh ...ha ha ok I really need to get to bed.

12-29-2007, 02:45 AM
Hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end.....just spending time here at the house and gearing up for New Year's Eve. we are having some friends over. my younger sister is going to go to another sisters house for the night. Brandon has been enjoying spending time with my sister. Logan and Marissa have been as well, but Brandon keeps following her around.

We did some shopping for New Year's Eve, and I picked up some Diet Cherry Coke Zero. It tastes just like a flat cherry coke! So, I am glad that I did that! On another board that I post on, one of the people mentioned to me that if I start to drink coke zero, that it will cut out about a pound every two weeks or something like that, since I wouldn't be drinking the "leaded" plain coke.

Sassy~ They say that things happen for a reason. So, maybe the reason that your DH didn't get this job is because there is an even better opportunity just around the bend for him!

Jane~ I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. Those sound like some really great gifts!

Marti~ We don't have major plans for NYE. We are staying home and some friends of ours are coming over to hang out with us. I gained about a pound too, so I am really on a straight and narrow aspect of looking at things now.

Trish~ My sister that is here, will be 17 next month. So, she is enjoying her little vacation away from home. It is nice to be able to spend some time with her, since she usually comes "down state" and stays at our sister's house that she is going to on NYE. We talk all the time either through email, or the phone.

Sue~ That sounds like a nice WA present! Usually we are Wal-Mart shoppers, which we ended up at anyways. But we just went into Target since it was connected to the mall.

Jules~ If she is already 3-4cm, and they striped her membranes, she might go quickly! I hope that she goes quickly!!! I found that walking helped me when I was pregnant. The more walking I did, the better it made me feel and it helped each child move down farther. That is a great picture of you guys!!!

Angelia~ How are things with you? How much snow do you guys have up there?

12-29-2007, 06:34 AM
Hey all.

Have ever felt like just everything in the world keeps going wrong for you? I have been feeling that way all day/night/morning. Just different things going on. I know its probably just a coincidence, but just feels like there is almost an evil person watching me pushing a button over and over again for bad things to happen. lol. :dizzy:

Anywho, thanks, thanks, thanks for all the well wishes again for DH. We will be fine, no worries, we are fine and yes, I know there will be better things coming, so its okay........we're okay, really. You all are truly awesome, but just letting you know, we're okay. :) Thank You All

Well thanks for listening. You all are truly awesome people. You all are doing terrific and I wish you all the best in 2008!!!! I hope its all you want and more!!!!

So thank you all.

12-29-2007, 10:15 AM
Sassy--yes, I do get those feelings too from time to are not alone...

Mindee--she has been walking--she's ready to try castor oil! SHe asked me if DAve and his Mom stressing her out can be causing the contractions to stop. As soon as she starts--they are both tellling her she HAS to call the doctors office even though she knows it's no time and when she doesn't call he thrpws a temper tantrum. His mom and him even got on her about doing the stripping the membranes thing. Told her she shouldn't have done it, but Dave doesnt like to go to the doctors visits cause of the long wait times.

Marti--everyone is telling her that she will have the first baby of 08. One of my coworkers has a bday on Jan 2 and told Teri she would share her birthday with little Nick.

Cristina--glad we could make her smile. I read posts to Hubby sometimes, he gets jealous of my time spent online sometimes, but like at the moment he is watching his car shows and Speedvision.....and it's not just one...

Hi to everyone else..
Well off to finish my coffee and make some turkey bacon.

Good morning, ladies!

I am very happy to say I am down 2 pounds today! Woohoo! :carrot: I must say that part of it is probably because of throwing up so much on Christmas but I did good to not put anything on since so I am happy. I am little over a pound away from my first twenty pound goal, yay! Of course I changed it over to 10 pound goals now, figure they would be easier to achieve and not seem so overwhelming to reach. Going to WI on the New Years just because it is the beginning of a New Year and then again on my Sat WI. Starting a New year and I want to see the changes from the very first day. Anyway...

JULES...hopefully by now Teri is in the hospital ready to deliver. I feel for her. I think deep down V gets a little jealous of my online time but he never says anything. I share things with him too so...hey, how do you like the turkey bacon? I have been thinking about trying it because I love bacon. I actually haven't had any in a long time because I always eat too much of the stuff.

SASSY...I don't think I can count on both hands how many times I have felt that way so as Jules said "You are not alone." We are here for you anytime you want to talk. Just hang in there sweetie.

MINDEE...I tried coke zero and thought that was the worst tasting stuff ever, lol. I gave it to V...he's like Mikey...he'll eat or drink anything, or just about anything. Why not diet coke? I am addicted to diet coke but have really cut back a lot. Drinking a lot more water but there are times I just need my diet coke.

SUE...yes, Josh has basically moved in with his GF, lol. I've seen him maybe 8 hours in the last almost two weeks, lol. Oh well, I am just glad he is happy. Glad you guys had a nice Christmas, hope you mom gets to feeling better soon.

JANE...glad you guys had a nice Christmas as well. Nice that you are back in control with the eating, hoping to do that myself. With being sick I wasn't eating right...just trying to keep something down so it was mainly jello and soup for a couple of days. Was too afraid to eat any solid food.

MARTI...I took a gander at your journal...that is really cute...I love the fairies.

TRISH...looks like you are enjoying that new laptop! Wish I could, or actually would want to, get used to using the finger as the mouse, I would probably get one. For now though this desktop is fine.

Well, no special plans for the day. Still being lazy until I feel 100% back to normal. V is going to be painting the front door. We got a new, solid door for the front...didn't like the one with the window. So he's painting that before he puts it on, along with a new storm door. I think the house feels naked without the storm door, lol. Anyway, my plan is to stay out of his way and finish putting Christmas stuff away, get a couple loads of laundry done and read. Still working on that one book.

I haven't gotten any exercise in for a week and that is probably another reason I am feeling bad. But I am just going to take it easy until the first when I plan to get back on track and ready for a new year, a new challenge!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Cristina...I am slowly gearing up for the 1st myself. I went out and walked a mile today, and it is dang cold. I will bike a couple miles this afternoon.(inside)

I have been eating right at breakfast and lunch, then it seems all h**l breaks loose and I just can't stop eating. Soooo, my goal for today is to cut the sweets and just eat a few nuts when I must snack. I still have some nuts in the shells and DH bought me a can of almonds. I HAVE to be done with the fudge and cookies.
If I can accomplish this goal then by the 1st maybe I will be ready to eat right all day.

I gained back up to the dreaded 170. It is my onus in life to weigh 170 I swear. No matter if I go up or down I am usually quickly back to 170. What's with that?

Sassy, My DH can really identify with you...he feels like everything goes wrong for him on a daily basis. LOL Like if he spills something it will happen twice. :) Chin up sweetie.

Jules, Sounds like we can expect a baby very soon now. I never took castor oil, ugh. I did walk a lot trying to bring on DD as she was 2 weeks late. It didn't seem to help...they come when THEY are darn good and ready.

Hope everyone has a nice week-end and stays warm!

Hi all, just wanted to pop in and see how everyone's doing, and to see what the deal is with our Teri. I'll try to bbl.

12-29-2007, 01:06 PM
Checking back before signing off...

SUE...good for you for getting that exercise in! :woohoo: Maybe 170 is you winter weight. I know I go thru times where I want to quit because I get stuck so I try to do something to shock my body, trick it, lol. Like this last time far, so good. :crossed: Kudos to you though for braving the cold. I just bring myself to get out in it. Of course right now the streets are a little messy so wouldn't even attempt it anyway. You'll get back on track, you always do!

JANE...see ya later :D

Okay, have a good day ladies.

Just popping in to say hello. Got most of my stuff done today, have a naked tree sitting in the front room.
Brandon bought me a mop for Christmas,,,a mop you say? One of those mops made with the miracle cloth or something. Greatest thing ever! Geesh I should doa commerical. Cause today I tried that baby out on everything...even windows.

Mindee we have a inch of snow? I think..its packed down cause it was nice and sunny but with a biting cold wind. Somehow made a packed down icy inch of snow. I mostly have been wearing hoodies during the day,,,then if going out at night I wear a light wind breaker type jacket. So much for thinking Canada being the land of snow and tundra eh? (threw in the eh,,,can't disappoint you completely on any notions of But don't get me wrong,,,we sometimes can get the foot or more of snow...
Where I am orginally it was the tundra part of Canada. Where you couldn't walk in the ditch in case you feel in and was trapped. Sometimes the snow would be so deep it would cover windows. But the windows would be covered with an inch of ice. I remember flying up even farther up north to a place called Rankin Inlet (scary place) and there people left their vehicles running all night cause it would freeze and then they couldn't start them up again. Im going to see if I could google that place...and if it looks like it was when I was there,,,which was over 25 yrs ago. I know it was the coldest place I ever went to. (other then San Fran in April,,,ha ha )

Lots of hugs to you Sassy!

hello are you all doing?

nothing new on this end....just hanging around the house. we are out of money so we are enjoying time here at home. nothing really planned for Sunday sister offered to watch the kids while we use our gift card and go to dinner. she said that we seem tense and that since she is offering that we should go. we are not sure if we are going to go or not.

Sassy~ We all have days like that! We seem to be having a lot of days like that around here recently!

Jules~ Dave sounds like a jerk when it comes to this situation. I would sau y that there is a huge chance that her contractions stopping is from them stressing her out by making her call the doctor. Has she told them that she wasn't instructed to call the doctor until they are 5 minutes apart? (don't do like I did with Logan.....I called my doctor's office when they were coming every 1 1/2 to 2 minutes apart) If I were in Teri's shoes, I would tell Dave that when he is capable of carrying a baby and then going into labor, then he can tell me what to do. But until then, just hold my hand through the contractions and keep his mouth shut.

Cristina~ I didn't think that I would like the diet cherry coke zero because I don't usually like diet coke. But for some reason, this stuff tastes really good! So, I am jumping on the train! We are going to really kick it into high gear and take down our Christmas tree! We still have it up right now, which is odd for us since usually it comes down the day after Christmas.

Jane~ How are you doing?

Angelia~ I was wondering when we were going to get an eh from you! I am surprised that you guys haven't gotten any more snow then that! We have gotten a couple of good snow storms, but the snow always melts and leaves us nothing left over! I knew a girl with the last name Rankin. Actually I still know her. I will have to google that place and see some pictures of it!

Hey all........

Just got done watching "Failure to Launch" w/ Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew McConaughey, Tery Bradshaw and Kathy Bates (love her) was pretty funny, although I think I have already seen it, but with my "old age" I can't remember if I have or not! lol...........:p

Angie -- Aaaaaaahh a naked tree! lol.........I've seen those miracle mops....I hate mopping...........I had a clorox mop but my Dear Sweet Husband decided to break

Cristina -- to you!!

Mindee -- I know too well what you mean about being broke..........hope you have fun if you decide to go out.

Well I keep getting hot and cold, I can't get comfortable.............must be old

Anyway, I just wanted to share............

Anyways, take care all.

Good Morning & to all you Ladies,

Couldn't sleep so up early after going to bed very late last night more like this morning. Slept about 3 hours. I'm glad though because I've decided that I am going to start getting up early and go to bed at a decent hour like I used to do. So I weighed when I got up which was earlier than usual, but it looks like I stayed the same. I'll weigh tomorrow to see for sure.

DH was still up when I got up so he will be sleeping all day so I'm going to spend the day reading and doing my own thing. So this is just a quick hello and say have a great day.

I forgot to share this with those of you who have problems with knees/joints like I've been struggling with lately. I recently read that drinking green tea could be a good way to describe the youthful knees of a green-tea devotee. Potent compounds in green tea -- EGCG and ECG -- may help battle cartilage and collagen destruction in arthritic joints. It said that the EGCG and ECG found in green tea are powerful flavonoids known as catechins and it seems that these particular catechins may help fight inflammation, as well as some of the underlying mechanisms at work in both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. I used to think how neat it was that I had no joint problems. Now I wonder if it came on because I quit drinking green tea. It used to be my main drink instead of cold drinks, etc. I've gone back to drinking it and my bad knee is already better and my other knee which had just started hurting some feels great. So I will definitely be drinking a lot of it again as it must work. I also read that it prevents cancer so I may be getting a double whammy benefit. I also started eating grapefruit again because I read many years ago that it removes the inorganic stuff from our joints and replaces the organic.

Morning all!

Quick one for me for the moment, needing to get ready to go to the gym. Dragging my feet because I wanted to sleep in a bit, but hubby agreed to meet someone.......couldn't he make it for later in the afternoon??

DD & her friend were over yesterday, took them home last night, wanted more time w/DD but she has plans w/friends already.....good to know she can squeeze in her mom some time!

Ok....need to stop dragging feet and get ready. I'll try to get back on later tonight and catch up.

Until then....hugs to you all.

Happy Sunday hugs to everyone. It is still really cold here, but may warm up to 40* tomorrow. Hope so, I can't seem to get warm today. Needless to say I didn't go outside for a walk. Being my usual lazy Sunday self...papers and coffee.

Trish- I have also been reading about the benefits of green tea. I drink lots of tea and need to switch to green. Have some plain green and some with mint and love them both. And I do have joint problems.

I have posted this tip before and although my DH laughs and thinks it is crazy I know it works. AND funny thing...his sis is a nurse, she tried it and says it works for her. SO...if you wake up with leg cramps or a charlie horse in your calves, sleep with a bar of soap between your sheets. It does work. I have been told Irish Spring does not work, but any other soap does. You can even google it. Soap for leg cramps

Thanks all who have been thinking of Mom. She has been feeling better for a few days now. Eating and even put a pound or two back on. We have our fingers crossed that she is on the mend. Her colonoscopy is Wed. and then her vascular surgeon the 24th. Seems a Dr. ever two weeks or so, but maybe we are on the right track..finally. Anyway...I appreciate your good wishes for her as she does when I tell her.

Just booked our flight for Vegas the end of the month. And the two nights down south were booked last week. *fingers crossed* that Mom does well and the roads don't get too slick/snowy. more right now as I am off to fix some lunch.

Hi ladies,

Cristina - haha, just ask DD if she sees what she started. YAY for the 2 pounds down. That's great.

Mindee - oh yeah, I'd be taking my sis up on an offer like that! :carrot:

Sassy - some days you're the windshield, and some days you're the bug. Hope to see more windshield days ahead for you. I saw that movie you're talking about, and thought it was a hoot. Couldn've done without the shot of Terry Bradshaw's bare bootie, though! I'd rather seen Mathew McWhatever's, wouldn't you? teehee

Sue - maybe your body's set point is 170. How's your mama?

Angie - I read The Secret. The only thing I didn't like was the void of giving due to a Higher Power. It basically says we can "think" good things for ourselves. Hmm... I'm going to have to check out that mop!

Jules - my sis took castor oil and said the cramps were so much worse. I know Teri wants it all over, though. Thanks for sharing the photo of you and your mom and brother - it was great!

Patty - I'm in a bad habit, too, ever since Neal retired that I want to stay up late and sleep in longer than I should. I feel so much better when I get up early. Thanks for the info about the green tea!

Marti - lol about Jhanai. But you do have a very close relationship with her - it shows. Brace yourself for when she gets a car, a job and a boyfriend, as you might see less of her than you want. I remember seeing all 3 of mine as they went out the door, lol.

Mary Kate - thank you for the beautiful card. Can't wait to catch up with you. How's your sister?

Hello to anyone else reading this.

I've been doing great with the food and water, not so great with exercise. But I've had a sore throat and now I think a cold's coming on.

Where is that sneaky sunshine????? If it can't snow outside, at least I should be seeing some sunshine!!!

12-30-2007, 04:21 PM
Sue - thanks for the tip about the soap. Never heard that one before, but I'll try it, since I do get leg cramps at times. Used to be able to buy some OTC stuff, not anymore! Btw, tell your mom I've got a lot of pounds she can have, lol. Glad to hear she's better.

12-30-2007, 05:00 PM
Well girls...Teri is being sent to the hospital to get checked. I guess they are concerned since she is still having a good bit of discharge since the sweeping of the membranes on Friday. She may have just lost her plug and since the contractions are really hurting yet they may send her home. She's going to call me once she knows what is going on.

12-30-2007, 05:03 PM
Let's wait for Mister Dominck at #283! :)
