Ouch!! I can surely sympathize! I had a full abdominal hysterectomy 3 years ago tomorrow (and bladder lift) re what you said about the gas pains...I know how horrible those gas pains can be. When they tell you to get up and walk, as much as it hurts, get up and walk walk walk as much as you can!! You will feel better faster and it will keep the gas away. (I learned that painful lesson after my second c-section...I had 3 of them, cut from the belly button down) I was so mad at a nurse after my second section...she kept fussing at me and dragging me up and down the halls..but she was right. I really hated her at the time, but was greatful later.
After the hys, I was back at work here at the computer about 2 weeks post op and back teaching at 4 weeks...so that walking really, really helps speed things up.
Hope you are all well and recovered soon. You are going to feel better than you have in years...and the no period thing...love it!!

Sarah I'm sure you'll be right as rain jiffy quick - but what a painful experience - but you made it through! Walk Walk Walk!! and if you can take it GasX helps a great deal -I know how very painful that is. Each day brings you closer to healing! :
Hi everyone,
I'm back at work now. I've been walking a lot this last month...well considering the surgery it's a lot, but it's not as much as before the surgery. I just don't have the energy.
On the plus side I've not gained any weight!! It wasn't that horrible of an experience, if I knew then what I know now I would have had it done a couple years ago!
Thanks for your kind wishes for my recovery.
Sarah
