Default Spanish black radishes

I got one of these things yesterday. Has anyone used them?

It's a big black furry ball. I found it at Green Earth when I bought fresh water chestnuts.

I did finally find something online that says to use it like regular radishes. I think I'll shred some into a salad tonight.

Do you ever venture into Santa Clara? If so, check out Green Earth. It's where Cosentino's used to be on Homestead and Lawrence.

They decided to close it. Apparently the store in Silver Creek isn't doing well so they closed the store in Santa Clara. Go figure.

This store is trying to bring in as much organic and natural stuff as possible. However, because they are new, to buy the more expensive stuff is going to be costly for them because of the turn over time.

They did keep the meat dept. You can still pick out each individual piece of whatever. The quality of the meat isn't quite what Cosentino's had but the prices are much lower, too.

If you do go in there, when you enter the door, pick up the sales flyer and get the 10% off your entire order coupon. Also, they'll let you sample just about everything in the produce section.

Their paper grocery bags are huge!
