Hey all, I'm new here, from Kansas City, 26 years old! Just getting the hang of this place, desperately in need on support. Just started this new healthy eating/ excercising plan and I'm doing well so far. Am hoping to keep it going long term. I am at 270 lbs right now, was 305 at heaviest.

Hi I'm new too but I think we've both come to the right place. I have 150 pounds to loose. It's great to know that we don't have to do this alone. These gals are very friendly and informative. I think we'll find much support and success here.

At this point I am trying to walk and do some strength training excercises at home. I am starting out slow, and hoping to work my way up to a "real" workout. But I am still excited about it, so that's good!

Check out BFL. it is very intensive. but it tells you to do them at your level. what is a 10 for me is not a 10 foyou. you do your personal best now mine! www.bodyforlife.com. it comes with a low fat eating plan, semi low carb. I started with that doing my low carb eating plan. I have had great results. but you can do this at home or at the gym. if you check out the site then make sure you lood for the challenge winners. it is amazing!!

Welcome to both of you. I came to this site a year ago with 115 lbs or so to lose. I have now lost 93, so it can be done. Believe it or not it does not seem like a year has gone by.
Reading these posts has helped me tremendously. When you have over 100lbs to lose it is hard to relate to people who have 25 lbs, 50 lbs or even75 lbs to lose.
Good luck and keep posting.

I started out just about the same as you, I was 313. Now I am 272. I want to get to 160 (I am 5'9) and havent been 160 since high school so that's as low as I will aim for (heck as an adult my lowest was 175, so we'll see.)
I just want to say welcome, this is a great area to post since we all have or had a lot to lose, so we can all relate. It sounds like you are relying on exercise, something I have to start doing. I just counted calories, lost some, maintained and now am losing again.
I hope you keep posting often-it will really keep you on track.
