LA Weight Loss - December Alli~~~ Happy Holidays
12-06-2007, 09:21 AM
Well Ladies/gents! I am back from Vegas.
We had a GREAT trip. I actually did a pretty good job with my eating while I was there. I havnt weighed yet, that will happen on Monday. But I thought I should at least pop in and say Hi and that I am back.
Welcome to the new thread. Looks like the old one was going well, lets keep up the great support here and lose some serious FAT this month!!!:carrot:
12-06-2007, 11:24 AM
Glad you had a wonderful time. Wondered when a new thread was going to e opened.
12-06-2007, 11:31 AM
welcome back still hope you had a fantabulous time
getting around more today but my knee is still stiff and sore. no problems with the surgery but i sure want to sleep. on the plus side dont feel much like eating either !
12-06-2007, 11:37 AM
The soreness will go away but that takes time. You take care of yourself. Of course with the meds and the surgery you want to sleep, nap, rest. The body is healing itself. You take it easy. Won't be anytime at all and you will be kicking those leprechauns in the bum lol.
12-07-2007, 09:22 AM
Thanks everyone for your prayers! HUGZ
Still welcome back! I'm so ready to lose some serious fat! I've not stepped on the scale in awhile. I'm not looking forward to that. I may just skip the whole scale thing this month and not weight myself til the New Year. Actully that sounds pretty good to me. I think I will try and do just that.
Got to - Glad to hear the surgery went well. Sending many happy healing thought yours way!
Shy - Love the cartoon! Thanks for the morning laugh.
As for me my husband picked up my Beck Diet book a few days ago. I've yet to open it up. I do plan on going over it this weekend. I did see a partial story on new last night about a weight loss study that not only used diet and exercise but also an agressive behavioral motivation I'm not sure what they ment by agressive since I missed the studies name. What I did catch was one of the person that was in the study and he said he'd been on many WL Plans and had lost weight but with this one he found that key to his not only losing but also KEEPING it off was the behavioral motivation. I know it's not news to link over eating with bad habits but to find the key to what make each of us over eat and be able to unlock that key and replace it with something be it another food item(healthy), music whatever is a great thing. OK hoping off the soap box. Thanks for reading my ramblings :)
12-07-2007, 09:43 AM
Sue, I have been skipping my weigh ins also. I haven't been on plan, and I have no excuse for not being on it.
Shy, I agree about people not making their children listen. In my 30 years of teaching, things changed and not for the better, that's for sure. Do you know anyone who would buy your bottle of Alli? I just bought a new bottle, haven't even opened it yet. Maybe someone on here might be interested in buying it??
Julia, welcome to the group!! Can you order things online from Amazon.com? That's where I just bought my bottle of Alli. Might be worth a shot.
Mez, I feel so bad for you and your family. Having been through 2 miscarriages myself, I know how difficult this time is for all of you. I pray that all of you will get through the healing process quickly, but even that is hard to do especially during the holidays.
Still, sure wish I could have gone to Vegas with you!! Glad you had a good time. When hubby and I went away overnight this week, we went to a gambling boat in southern Indiana. He did great, and we won't talk about my video poker playing. lol We had a good time just getting away.
I've had a bug since yesterday. So far I haven't vomited today, so maybe I'm on the mend. I had planned to wrap presents yesterday, but I couldn't stay out of bed long enough to do anything. Today is probably going to be spent laying around again. I've been sitting up for about 20 minutes now, and I think I'm ready to go back to bed for a while.
I should get weighed! Maybe I have lost an ounce or two!!
12-07-2007, 10:47 AM
I would give it to someone if I knew anyone that used it. Heck if someone here wants it send me a pm and I will send it to you lol.
12-07-2007, 11:50 AM
Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself, did you win any money?? :-D
12-07-2007, 12:56 PM
you know, I love the slots (penney, nickel, quarters, dollars....any of them) and I did play quite a bit. But I decided that since I really wasnt hitting anything worth mentioning on them I would move to the Craps table....MAN o' MAN. That was FUN and a good idea. I did pretty good on the table and actually came out WAY ahead. So I ended up not spending much at all for my trip.
12-07-2007, 03:20 PM
What a fun day. Had another 4 to 5 inches of snow. Went out to start to shovel the stuff and the man from next door came over and used the snow blower and did the whole drive for me.
12-07-2007, 05:36 PM
well it sounds like we are all making it through one way or another....i second the vote for no weigh ins until jan 1st. although that isnt that far away !
getting stressed about the holidays..too much in the air and out of my control !! hate that. maybe should have waited for my knee surgery as i cant get out to shop for the grandkids, christmas dinner or decorate the tree is up.. my need to be in control has to go back to my weight issues just havent made the connection yet...
12-07-2007, 08:36 PM
I swear I am going to make my daughter live in a bubble. She was in a car accident tonight. Second one in 6 months. Now she has a cast on her foot a splint on her thumb and a totaled car that we aren't going to get enough out of to get another car.
12-07-2007, 09:19 PM
Erica, my hubby did very well at the casino. I hit a few jackpots (not big ones), but mainly I just threw $$ away. I did have fun though, and hubby was in great spirits. He hasn't been that relaxed for a while since he's been sick. We went out for a nice dinner at one of the restaurants there.
Still, a friend of ours loves Craps! He wants me to go with him sometime so he can teach me how to do it.
Shy, where we live now, all of the snow removal, etc. is done for us. That was one of the main selling points here. With my health problems and my hubby getting older (I'm not getting older of course), we just felt it would be very handy especially with our son away at college. Now with hubby's health problems, there is no way he could be out doing things. That was so nice of your neighbor to help you out!!
Sue, I'm with you about not weighing until Jan. 1.
Shy, how awful about your daughter!!! Was anyone else hurt? The roads are nasty in spots. I'm waiting to hear from our son to make sure he's back at school after taking his girlfriend to her hometown this afternoon. He has to work at midnight. He called about 7:30 when he was leaving her house. I wasn't real happy that he waited that late to leave there since he has to work, but you know how young love is!
12-07-2007, 09:48 PM
I sent you a pm not sure if it went thru or not. Doesn't show in my sent folder. Except for the cast on her foot and the splint on her thumb she is ok. There was nothing wrong with the roads. The darn jackass tryed to go from one drive on one side of the street to another drive across the street and there was my daughter in his way.
I am better now. Have all the chores done, the daughter in bed being treated like a princess even by her brother and my exercises done. Deep breath in and out. I am fine now lol.
12-07-2007, 11:16 PM
I didn't get your private message. Must be lost in cyber space somewhere!
I'm glad your daughter isn't hurt worse than she is! People are nuts, aren't they?
12-07-2007, 11:32 PM
People are goofy. Will send another message.
12-08-2007, 09:42 PM
Feeling much better today. So much better that hubby and I went shopping!! Woo hoo!!! He is now getting a pair of shoes for Christmas that he picked out. They are wrapped and under the tree.
When we were married 26 1/2 years ago, we bought very inexpensive wedding bands. Over the years we talked about buying new rings. Guess what I'm getting??? I had one picked out that was very nice, but he said no. He wanted a better one for me! I was getting very teary eyed. They have to make it a bit bigger, but I'll have it for Christmas morning. I'm not going to tell our son or my friends here. I couldn't keep it quiet though!!!
Hope you are all having a good weekend. I have cramps for the 4th day in a row. I want menopause to be over with!!!
12-09-2007, 12:38 PM
hi alli cats.. i am on the mend with my knee. still stiff and swollen and bruised like all get out but on the mend. my son took me out for awhile yesterday and did some christmas looking and a little shopping. i want this christmas to be nice for my grandkids but i do have trouble finding just the right thing and sticking to a budget when it comes to them.
tammy i am so glad things are going good for you. a new ring from your hubby ! sounds like he loves you like the first year. we have been married for 28 years in feb. looking forward from that day who would have guessed it. looking backward from today and i wonder where the time went !
as for me and my alli. we have parted ways for awhile. went back to old ways of eating and wondering why as i am sick and bloated. my surgery was a good excuse at the time as i was feeling sorry for myself, medicating with food and pain pills. so off the vicoden, off the pizza, and stop this depression that is looming before it overtakes me...tomarrow will be a better day..sue
12-09-2007, 06:44 PM
That is so nice about the ring. Try being in early menopause for about lets see, 15 years or so lol. Everything is kind of bad to normal. Glad the weekend is over. Happy next week lol.
12-09-2007, 08:46 PM
Sue, glad your son was able to take you out to get some things done. Don't push it on your knee!! Take your time and let it heal properly. I think hubby's hospitalization in September really made him do some soul searching. He has become a different person than he had been the past few years. I know that alot of it was the alcohol, and I like the man he is once again.
I haven't take an Alli for a couple weeks now. I need to just refocus myself. Hubby and I were talking that we really need to start going to the Y again. We used to do that often until he got sick.
Shy, a friend of mine went through early menopause. I guess I figure that I'm 52, and I should be finished with this stuff.
I'm volunteering the next 3 mornings at the Christian radio station near here. Should be fun. I'll be answering the phones for their Christmas Wish thing they have going on.
12-09-2007, 10:10 PM
The woman in my family don't tend to go thru menopause until they are in their late 50's to early 60's. Heck my mother was asking me about menopause symptoms lol
12-10-2007, 10:48 AM
Well the scale told the unwanted truth. My vegas trip "bumped" me by 4 lbs. Some of which I am sure is water weight...so I will charge ahead and drink lots of water this week!!!
12-10-2007, 11:20 AM
I am sure once you get your routine back to normal the weight will come right back off.
12-10-2007, 03:15 PM
Shy, I want it to be over now!!!! One of my best friends is 5 years younger than me, and she is completely finished with menopause.
Still, I haven't weighed since before I got sick last week. It is TOM too, so the weight gain from that and the loss from being sick probably balanced out to no loss and hopefully no gain!! lol BUT you had a good time in Vegas, right??
Had fun at the radio station today. It was amazing how people were stepping up to help out. When I left, they were on the 3rd of 12 families. I need to check to see how far they are now.
12-10-2007, 03:22 PM
I have wanted it to be over for years and years lol.

12-11-2007, 12:44 PM
Hi Allicats! I'm back from holiday... I need to read and catch up with you all, but just wanted to let you know I am still alive. We had a great time, here is a pic of me and my DD at the Sphinx.. talk to you later!
12-11-2007, 12:47 PM
Nice to have you back. Oh what a wonderful thing to see. Bet you have some great pics.
12-11-2007, 12:54 PM
hi all !! i am on the mend and dont have much to say new but thought i'd say hi :D
shy...i see yet another happy face !! great going i need your mojo girl !! i am strugling so i am using you as hope !! a beacon in the sea of fat ;)
welcome back thingirl. thanks for the picture i always wondered what the spinxs looked like in person and not in books. how close to it did they let you go ?
all for now..sue
12-11-2007, 02:14 PM
OH I definately had a good time in Vegas, infact, I am already working on planning my next trip. I loved taking people that had never been there, I like playing tour guide...lol
I got to eat out at a place that no kiddig cost more per person than I had ever had...it was like $250 per person for dinner and the food was absolutely amazing!!! I would gladly take the 4 lbs just for that meal!
12-11-2007, 06:29 PM
Glad I can give someone some encouragment. I lose any slower I will be going backwards lol.
12-12-2007, 10:53 AM
is anyone else having a hard time checking in at the alli site ? i have missed 2 weigh ins because it says the site is down. but they are sending me notices that i have to check in ?
12-12-2007, 11:17 AM
I quit trying ages ago. I would get that message all the time even when they sent the messages.
12-12-2007, 05:47 PM
Thin, welcome home!!! I love the picture at the Pyramid! What a wonderful experience you've had.
Still, that is one expensive meal!! When we went to Disney for our 25 anniversary, we ate at Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian. It was quite expensive too, but we figured it was a once in a lifetime deal.
I was at the alli site last week and recorded my weight (a gain), but I haven't been there this week.
12-12-2007, 07:10 PM
I spent 2 dollars and 50 cents on a meal once lol. I am the cheap skate of the world. I would never spend that much money on a meal. Oh my gosh, I can eat all the Hershey hugs I want and never spend that much money lol. I am dieing just thinking of spending that much money. That is more than I spent on my first car lol.
12-13-2007, 05:10 PM
Yeah I was surprised. When the kids and I went to DisneyWorld we ate at Epcot, at the restaurant at the aquarium, and that was like $300 for 3 of us, so that was REALLY expensive to me.....I was glad I didnt have to pay for this last one..whew.
Well I got REALLLLLLY good news today. Remember I went house hunting this summer and we finally found one that we liked and had a MASSIVE waiting game? Well I got the call yesterday that we can (after 4 months) close our loan and start moving this weekend! I am SO excited!
12-13-2007, 06:09 PM
That is so great. You will be in my Christmas. Moving into a brand new home is always fun, exciting and a bit worrisome. Hope everything goes well and your floors don't squeak. :)
12-14-2007, 05:23 AM
Still, that is great about the house!!!! Woo hoo!!!!
My friends and I are going away for the weekend to a bed and breakfast and lots of little shops. This is our 8th year we have done this, and we look forward to it. Last year it was warm when we were there, so we were hoping for a bit of snow this year. Well, we're going to get some. There is a winter storm coming, and it will hit tomorrow. We just hope we won't have trouble getting home on Sunday. We'll just have to leave earlier than usual and take our time.
Have a great weekend!!! I don't know if I'll get back on here today.
12-14-2007, 09:14 AM
WELL TODAY'S the DAY!!!! We are leaving in an hour to go sign papers for our new home....
I am going to start moving tomorrow! I have to work till noon, then I am off to start moving my stuff. I am going to do it Room by Room since we do not HAVE to be out of the other house, we are keeping it too.
Shy-The floors dont squeek, this much I DO know..lol I hate that, we have 2 spots in our current house that squeek, drives me nutz!
12-14-2007, 09:52 AM
I was so glad as we started pulling carpet off the floors and covering them with that veneered wood flooring. We were able to secure the floors where they squeaked. What do you expect out of a house that is over 100 years old lol. I did the same when we moved ( no we aren't rich and didn't get to keep both houses lol ) but we had 30 days to move before the rent was due. I cleaned a room moved a room into it and then cleaned the room that was now empty. Over and over until the house was moved. Was nice that A. I didn't work outside the home and B. both of my children were in school. I had plenty of time and had both houses cleaned from top to bottom when we were finished. Do you know the landlord wanted to keep half our deposit as a cleaning fee. I told him I had taken pics of the rental property and by gosh we would go to court. Funny, he gave us the full deposit back. Some people.
12-14-2007, 02:50 PM
Shy, that is great...glad you got your deposit back also..that is always nice. We just got back and instead of going straight to the house, I had to come back to work. My boss called while we were closing and asked me to come back ASAP...oh well. So when I get off tonight I will head over and start getting things at the new house in order, so tomorrow I can really start getting things done!
12-14-2007, 03:43 PM
You bet I did. That place had the carpets and the walls and windows washed. That man wanted to keep my deposit. I don't think so. Only thing that was a pain. I had to drive the kids back and forth to school. Didn't want to pull them out 2 months before school was over. 1/2 drive to take them 1/2 hour home. 1/2 hour to pick them up, 1/2 hour home. I did more driving in those two months than I do in 2 years lol.
12-14-2007, 08:06 PM
congratulations on the house :D how neat for you ! i think the reason i cant check in with alli my registration is up as i havent bought a new bottle for awhile..always something.
i have a housefull this week. both sons and 3 grandkids. kind of falling all over each other but it is nice anyway.
stressing and eating bread and cookies.. alli sure helped me with that !
12-14-2007, 09:09 PM
Hope you are haveing a wonderful time with your family
12-16-2007, 07:22 PM
Still, I am so excited for you about the house!!!
Shy, how funny about that landlord!!! I did the same thing with our son when we moved in the spring to a different school district one year. He got out of school before I could get there, so he went to a little gas station there in town and would sit and have a snack while he waited for me to pick him up. The owners were great and looked out for him.
Sue, how nice that you have the family there even if they are running into each other!!! Our son got home last night from college. It's great having him here.
My friends and I usually hit some shops on Sunday when we do our weekend getaway, but today we had the van loaded and were pulling away from the bed and breakfast at 10:15. The weather really did a number on the roads. It usually takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours one way. Today it took 3 hours. My back was so tense from driving. I took some medicine and went to bed. I'm feeling much better after that nap. I guess I probably should go empty the van!!
12-16-2007, 09:59 PM
What a day. We started to get snow last night it stopped. We started to get snow this morning it stopped. About 2pm it started to snow and hasn't stopped. I shoveled shoveled 2 inches of snow off my drive and then 2 inches of snow off my drive and then started to do it again and it was to dark. It is so beautiful out. Would have been fine but the darn wind was a killer. Think that will be my exercise for the day lol.
12-16-2007, 10:25 PM
Shy, the wind really has bee awful!!! There were times on the way home after I dropped my friends off that I honestly couldn't see more the 10 feet in front of the van. Schools here are already on 2-hr. delays for morning. I'll be surprised if they don't end up cancelling.
12-17-2007, 09:08 PM
They don't delay around here. They don't cancel around here lol. I have kept my kids home because I couldn't see the road from my house and yet they still had school. We are crazy out here in the country lol.
12-17-2007, 09:19 PM
the news tonight showed the weather backeast. it is so pretty nothing like it..i dont think i would live long shoveling snow. raking leaves about does me in ! be careful out there
12-17-2007, 10:28 PM
I think raking leaves is harder than shoveling snow. The snow just comes up and you toss it lol. The leaves involve grass and heat and sweat. I would rather do the snow lol.
12-17-2007, 11:39 PM
Shy, I can't believe they don't cancel school! What's wrong with them?? Some of the back roads are downright dangerous in this kind of weather, and I know that's why the schools here were delayed or cancelled. We live in a rural area in Darke County.
When I didn't have health problems, I didn't mind doing the leaves or shoveling the snow unless it was that really heavy snow. That was a pain!!
12-18-2007, 01:17 PM
They never canceled school when I was a kid lol. I lived 1/2 from town 45 min from the school. There was a joke, the schools only closed if the superintendent fell on his but walking out his front door.
12-20-2007, 12:46 PM
it is like pulling teeth to get school cancelled here also...only for sports :( that just irks me.
12-20-2007, 03:15 PM
Don't cancel the school lol. It is the only time I get a break from my teenagers lol.
12-23-2007, 11:51 AM
hi alli cats ! been awhile since i have checked in, but wanted t:santa:o say merry christmas to you and your families
12-23-2007, 09:45 PM
Hope things are well with you. Have a wonderful christmas.
12-23-2007, 09:46 PM
It's been a while since many have checked in. Very busy time of year!!
Merry Christmas to all of you!! I'll be back on the Alli wagon soon!!!
12-24-2007, 01:23 PM
Will get that out after christmas. Hope you are haveing a great Christmas eve. I am here lol. I am always here. House is empty and so quiet. Nice, very nice lol.
12-25-2007, 05:44 AM
Tim and I went to Christmas Eve services at church last night. Very nice. Not as many there as usual which surprised me since the weather was much better than other years. Hubby stayed home with the dog.
We are leaving in the morning for Frankenmuth, Michigan for a couple of nights. We've done that different times between Christmas and New Years, and we always have a good time. We hit all the little shops and the outlet mall. Our hotel has a whirlpool, so I plan to hit that!!
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas today!!!
12-25-2007, 11:56 AM
You have a really nice time and get something for me :)
12-25-2007, 08:10 PM
Shy, I"m sure we'll have a nice time. I see if I can find something for you!
12-25-2007, 09:54 PM
Isn't it great when you get what you really want.
I already had
Leslie Sansone ( 1995 ) Miracle Mile Walk 1 Mile
Leslie Sansone ( 1998 ) Walk Off Weight 4 Mile
Leslie Sansone (2001) Walk Away The Pounds...
( 1 Mile ) Get Up And Get Started
( 2 Mile ) High Calorie Burn
( 3 Mile ) Super Fat Burning
( 4 Mile ) ( 2003 ) Express
Leslie Sansone ( 2007 ) Advanced Walk 5 Mile
I now have to add to my collection, because of my wonderful hubby
Leslie Sansone ( 2001 ) Walk Away The Pounds For The Abs 3 Mile
Leslie Sansone ( 2001 ) Walk Away The Pounds Heart Healthy Walking 2 Mile
Leslie Sansone ( 2007 ) Walk Away Your Waistline 3 Mile With Waist Belt
Leslie Sansone ( 2007 ) Getting Fit With Faith 2 Mile
I have more than enough to do a different 1 or 2 mile walk everyday.
A couple of them he bought new, some used at the video store. Not all of them came with equipment so he also got me, a set of 1.5 lb hand weights with straps, a set of 2 lb hand weights and some stretchy things. I said, " Do you know what I want for Valentines day?" He started to laugh and said what. I said I want her exercise ball video and an exercise ball. He just smiled and said no problem.
Talk about supportive.
12-26-2007, 12:06 PM
well i made it through the holiday...but i bet i gained 5 lbs! NO CONTROL!!! MAN, it never ends...oh well I guess I will just have to work harder!
12-26-2007, 01:24 PM
Darn nice to see you back. Hope you enjoyed yourself. Bet you even joyed what put that bit of weight on. No problem, we all deserve a bit of a fling. NOW get back on track and that weight will come right back off. You know you can do it, I know you can do it.
12-26-2007, 02:09 PM
Shy, yeah I am drinking TONS of water today to flush all the bad things out....(lord knows that there are a LOT of bad things..lol) And I am eating right today....Small portions/healthy food!
12-26-2007, 02:15 PM
I will flush out the sugar cookies with tea and mountain dew lol. Just kidding on the dew. Had more than enough of it this week. I am down a lb so none of it must have hurt me. Was pretty darn happy I hit my Christmas day goal of 159. What I have found is that I can eat a ton more than what I thought I could and still lose weight lol. Today is " get back to normal " day. I like the control lol. I feel better getting those required amounts of the four basic food groups in me and not a bunch of junk. I bet I ate 3 dozen sugar cookies lol. Can't feed people stuff you haven't tryed you understand. One from every dozen I baked lol. Not really that many but I sure did eat a ton of them the last few days.
12-26-2007, 10:16 PM
Shy, that's great that your hubby is so supportive!!! Mine comes and goes on being supportive. I can relate about the cookies. lol I ended up doing up gift boxes of cookies and breads and taking them around to the neighbors. Also took some to my 90+ year old aunt. Took her some deviled eggs also.
Still, I'm with you about getting back with it. Everytime I get my meds changed, I swear I gain weight. I've had it changed twice in the past couple of months. No good on the weight. Water has been my problem lately. I haven't been drinking enough and I know it. Too much diet soda, and even some real Pepsi.
We are in Michigan tonight. We had a great meal at our favorite restaurant here. I didn't overeat like I usually do there. It's famous for chicken, I had broiled whitefish. Yummy!!! I plan to hit the outlet mall tomorrow!!!
12-26-2007, 11:38 PM
Lets put it this way. I am his life. When he is home I literally trip over him. I am the world and the stars and sometimes that is a lot to live up to lol. Yes, he is supportive.
12-27-2007, 04:13 PM
Shy, your hubby sounds pretty special! Lucky girl you!!
We slept late today, missed breakfast here at the hotel. Went for lunch and then hit the big Christmas store. I could have spent oodles and oodles because I saw so many things that I like, but since we've downsized our home, I don't have as many trees or as much space as we used to have. I bought one ornament for me - a s'more Santa. Bought Tim a Boy Scout ornament, and he bought his girlfriend something. My back started hurting pretty bad, so we came back to the hotel, I took some medicine and slept for a while. We have other shops to hit, then eat supper, then we'll hit the outlet mall.
I've talked to hubby at least 5 times since we left home yesterday morning. I think he misses me! It really is amazing how protective he has become since he was sick in September. I'm still amazed at the rings I got for Christmas even though I helped pick it out. I swear it wasn't this pretty and fancy when we looked at it in the store. The wedding band has diamonds halfway around it, kind of like an anniversary ring. The other ring has a single diamond with smaller diamonds on each side. I've never owned a diamond, so I'm feeling like a new bride!! lol
Hope everyone else is recuperating from all of the Christmas cheer!!

I hate being away from my husband even for a second. He works out of town so I only get to see him one day a week and on weekends. I bet your husband does miss you. The rings, wow how nice. They do seem more special and more wonderful when they are on your hand don't they.

well I was right GAINED 5lbs, so my ticker is a liar again..but I think it will come back off easy since it is holiday weight....I have been VERY good all week now so maybe by next weigh in I will be back to ticker weight

You are right, that weight will come back off. Just get back on the wagon, make sure you have a comfy spot on the seat and away you go.
I never know if everyones tickers are right or not lol. So many of you don't change them up or down when your weight changes lol.

Shy, I can understand why your hubby wants to be with you since he is gone so often. Bob worked 2nd shift for many years, and really the only time that I saw him was on weekends.
I used to change my ticker every time I had a gain or a loss. I decided it was taking me too much time since I was weighing every day. I haven't weighed since before Christmas, so I a bit afraid of the scales right now. I was at the rheumatologist last week, and my weight was down from last Feb. when I was there. She was pleased with that. I think it was about 12 pounds down, so that's close to the ticker.
Took all of the ornaments off of my big tree today. It still has lights on, so it is still pretty. I want it completely down before my son heads back to school on Wed. morning.
Hope you are all having a good weekend!!!

I do an official weigh in every two weeks. Now, if we happen to be at the docs office more often than that I will do a weigh in. I now have a scale in the house so I don't have to go out in the cold weather. I am pretty darn lucky because it is exactly on what the docs scale says. I am going to be able to use it for the biggest loser challenge. I am still going to keep my official weigh in every two weeks and that is when I will change my ticker. Weight fluctuates to much to be looking at the scale everyday and worrying what it says. That is the reason I never owned one. May find I give the darn thing away and go back to doing a weigh in every two weeks at the docs office. We shall see.

Ok. I got weighed this morning. It wasn't pretty. I'll try to keep from weighing for at least a week, and then I'll change my tracker thing. Too many goodies over the holidays. I won't be taking the scales to GA, so I'll have about 6 weeks without weighing. Wonder if that's a good thing????
I told Bob last night that we really need to decide when we are leaving. The dog isn't going with us, and I need to let the doggy hotel know the exact date. No son and no dog for 6 weeks. This is going to be hard. Our son is flying down for a weekend while we are there, so I guess it won't be 6 weeks without seeing him. I am such a wuss!!

Don't worry about the gain. You will get back on track and that weight will come right back off. Haven't forgotten you just haven't gotten the package in the mail yet. Sounds like you have a nice time planned. Away from it all. I would die if I didn't see my cat for 6 weeks lol.

shy, I am so worried that I'll be a mess without seeing our son and the dog. Bob thinks I'm silly, but that's just the way I am!!

I don't know how you are going to do it lol. I would be lost. You enjoy yourself. Have time to yourself and you and the hubby spend the time together you never have alone. I could never go that long without seeing my cat lol.

I know the trip will be good for both of us. Just getting away from the cold weather will help my aches and pains that I'm having. I need to start a list of things that I want to take with us. crock pot, laundry basket. Those two things just came to mind. The condo may have a crock pot, but I don't know for sure. Our son will be flying down about halfway through the time that we are there. We're used to not seeing him that often since he's away at school, but we'll be further from him and I don't like that. As for the dog, he'll be at the doggy hotel. The owner already told me that she and her hubby will probably keep him in the house with them most of the time. He is one of their favorites "guests". I know I'll be lost without him, but taking him along wasn't an option. After hubby being so ill, it will do him so much good to get away. His nieces are coming up to GA from Tampa for a few days while we are there.
Pretty quiet around home last night to ring in the new year. Watched the ball drop, then went to bed. I had a very small glass of wine and switched over to diet pepsi. Big partier here!!
Happy New Year Everyone!!!

After not checking in for a month, I'm back on the diet wagon. I figure I gained back 7 of the 17 I'd lost prior to Thanksgiving which is a downer. On the up side, I still lost 10 last year which is 10 less than last January 1. So back on the alli plan starting today. I'm even going to the grocery store today to stock up on lower fat foods. Everyone else will be watching the football games or nursing their hangovers so I figure the store won't be too awful.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's and here's to a lighter New Year!

Being down that 10 is still a good thing!! Positive thinking!!! I should think that way too!! I think I'm staying in the house today. It's cold, windy, and snowy.
Amen to a lighter new year!!!

I just changed my tracker to show the weight that I've lost and the weight that I still want to lose. The weight I want to lose may change the closer I get. We'll see how I feel and what the doctor says. I had thought doing it in 10 pound increments would be better, but I'll give this a try and see what happens.

[B]happy New year all . i am back on the good wagon again as well. i weighed today and it showed 217 not nearly as bad as i thought ! whew. I am also strapping on my pedometer and walking ! my dog and i go out and just go till we get pooped out !. I am aiming for 10,000 steps a day. so far i am at 6,070. most of that was the morning walk. but it is a start anyway !
I read about adding more dairy to my diet as well as it pulls out more fat from the intestines. low fat milk and yogurt never hurt and if it helps all the more for it !

You are going to have a wonderful time. I would sit and think of day to day life. What do you do each day. Make a list. That way you will have everything you need. Everything is going to be great.
Welcome to a brand new year of losing weight, getting healthy, having new and old friends to support you on this journey all of us are making.

Hey Everyone, I am going to start soon taking Alli. Are the sideeffects true, if you eat too much fat?
01-10-2008, 07:34 PM
I started Alli today as well... so far so good no side effects.:)
