Hey gals - happy December!

I hope everyone is doing well - I'm happy to say I've been pretty good on YOAD for 4 days now - and I'm feeling pretty good about it! Not perfect, but way better than I've been in months!

So here's to a great December for everyone!

Almost talked myself out of trying to lose the rest of the month today..I went to my bros for supper and the scale was up a bit this am. I thought ooh well i can just maintain till the n ew year......ahhhhh no!! Thats what got me to this weight inthe first place..Im heading out for a nice walk tonight and look at lights..and taichi in the morning..back on track. I havnt been off it though..jsut last night. Sometimes thats all it takes though isnt it/
Im still trying to lose a couple more pounds by the 25th...Im almost there..

Not sure if I told you guys but I have lost a total of 8 pounds in 3 weeks. Actually, I lost 8 lbs then Thanksgiving helped me to find 3 pounds and I lost 3 pounds again the week after Thanksgiving. I have been working 2 jobs since the first of November so haven't had much time to post or read. I will try to do better in the future.

Cindy and Patti......I am still here and I sure am glad the both of you are too.

Yes, glad to be here - I need to be here this month so I don't gain during this holiday season - it is always such a challenge!

Good for you Kim - you're doing great! You too Patti - stick around and keep us company.

I have a rough week to get through - 2 holiday luncheons and dinner out in a fancy place tomorrow night... Wish me luck!

We will get thru it....we just have to keep reminding ourselves how far we have come...and how difficult it is to get back on track when we leave it.

4 more lbs gone..... I experienced a gain the week of Thanksgiving of 3 pounds and I was able to get that off in one week and now 4 more gone in a week and a half. I have decided to set my goals on a more short term basis so I won't get discouraged. I am going to do it, 10 pounds at a time. Biggest Loser was very good last night! I shouting for Dave!!!! Way to go Jillian.....all the survivors are the black team....the team that no one wanted to pick. Have a great day!

Hi all - Just wondering if you all would mind me joining in here? I'm following the Best Life Diet, but there's no one else around for support, really, so I thought I could chat with you all!

I'm struggling right now with my motivation and commitment, just trying to get my head in the game and really stick to BLD. What do you do to stay committed to YOAD or your other plans?

Hello! I'm new to the YOAD plan and I haven't even read the whole book, I hope you don't mind if I join you anyway. I feel really committed to adopting a healthier way of eating and also getting into the exercise habit. Well I look forward to being part of YOAD support.

Junkarian I started the plan before reading all the book as well.. it just made me so excited
Im still following the program..its ALMOST become a way of life now..I walk or do tai ji every day for at least 30 mins thats a big part of the plan. Started way back in February but its the first summer I got thru without gaining everything back. Now to get thru Christmas.....Ive made a plan and Im sticking to it ..so far. It helps my dh is on plan with me..he has lost 30 and I have lost 45...we still have a way to go but its still working!!

Welcome one and all!!!! Yes, it has been a little quiet around here lately but like Patti, it will pick up after the holidays! I too am like Patti with the ups and downs but I have been losing steady since the week of Thanksgiving!!!! I seem to lose very slow but it is a way of life. The best life diet is very similiar to YOAD but I think YOAD is stricter and you just right in with no lead way. It's not really a diet but more of a way to live free of the bad for you stuff!!!!!

Glad to hear it gets easier as it becomes your lifestyle, gals. That's encouraging! I'm trying to focus on a few of the big principles for BLD and maintain over the holidays, and then really buckle down and make things happen after Boxing Day. :D

PA - congrats on moving more and on your first 45lbs!

Iwanawurkit - congrats on sticking with it through the holidays!

I am determined to stay away from the cookies, fudge and HCFS!!!!! My day to weigh in is tomorrow!!!! I joined the YMCA so I can have no excuse to exercise and they have a water aerobics class on Saturdays. I guess I will check that out. More to come tomorrow!!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy 'Boxing' Day!

Hey gals - and welcome to the You:bies! :welcome3:

We could definitely use some new faces around here to get the chatter going again - things have slowed down quite a bit with everyone getting ready for the holidays.

I have a busy, busy weekend, so let me take the time now to wish everyone a happy holiday season. I'm headed to MI, to my Mom's for Christmas, but will be back next weekend, in time to get geared up for the New Year and my resolutions to get back on track and get this weight off once and for all. I know that YOAD works for me - I just need to do it!

You gals have a great one!
Cindy

PS - Marianne - you're absolutely welcome to chat with us here - Best Life and YOAD are similar plans - it's really all about having some support to stick to it and stay motivated to get in some exercise to help with your results.

How are things going for you so far?

Merry Christmas all!

Well, on paper, I guess I'm doing well with BLD Phase 1, but... WOW. I really overdid it at Christmas! Yikes. I need to get back on track! I am pleased at how my thinking is starting to change, though. While I'm not thrilled about my crazy eating the last couple days, I'm not beating myself up over it. BIG change, and a very, very positive one.

I'm looking forward to a successful 2008 for all of us!

I would like to join your group. My name is Jan and I live in Alberta, Canada. I am married and the mom to three boys.

I followed YOU! on a diet earlier this year with great success, but treated the plan as a diet. This time I am making a lifestyle change that will have bumps and a few YOU! turns. I look forward to learning more about everyone and the support this forum provides.

p.a. ~ Thanks for the welcome.

My plan is to start January 1st. I have my food diary ready to go. I will have the appropriate food in the house, and my leg should be ready for exercise. Over the last six months I have been having treatments to repair the varicose veins on both legs. Hopefully, the recent ligation and foam treatment is the last. I should find out in a couple weeks.

Made it to the gym today and participated in my very first ever water aerobics. Pretty cool because it really didn't feel like I was exercising until I started to sweat and got really thirsty! I then went in to find out more information about some classes and I ended up riding on the bike for 30 mins. and then I worked out on the natulas machines. Wow.....been awhile since I was that active. I have decided that I will do this more often because I finally found something within my control! Have a Happy New Year!!!!!

Hey gals - I have good news - I didn't gain over Christmas, even with my crazy eating! Yahoo! Today's weigh-in has totally re-energized me for BLD and the new year. iwanawurkit - isn't water aerobics FUN? I almost forget I'm working out when I do it. I'm planning to get back into it in the new year, once I get a new swim suit.

Marianne.....great news indeed!!!! I am so glad the BLD is working for you!!! Yes, I loved the water aerobics!!!! I made the committment to do the circuit on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I slept through the alarm this morning but went anyway even though I was almost 30 mins late to what I had scheduled. I lay in bed and thought....I could do it tomorrow.....then I got my butt up at of bed and just did it!!!!! I felt energized all day today!!!!! Hope everyone else has a wonderful and safe New Year!!!!!!

I just bought the book and it seems very promising. I am starting tomorrow because I couldn't do the grocery shopping today and there are a lot of things I need to buy. I have tried all the fads and diets and I need to start thinking in terms of lifestyle and health. I've been reading some of the postings and they all seem positive and helpful. I'm looking forward to starting and chatting for support and advice because I'm sure I'll need both.:)
