went to a meeting of docs
what could one call that? a gaggle of docs? a plethora of pulmonologists?? whatever. well, last week, i spent a couple of days with a group of 60 pulmonology and cardiology fellows. [i run continuing medical education courses for medical professionals]
they presented a number of cases, and most of the cases were about heavy people. and now, here's what impressed me. THEY WERE WORRIED about these heavy people in their care, and they felt helpless! i was actually quite surprised, as we've all known ridicule at the hands of the medical profession, and less-than-optimal care. but this group left me with the impression that they did care, and were willing to help.
soooo, my advice to everyone who sees a lung doctor, LISTEN TO THEM!!! some of them actually understand and want to help.
really and truly, i was surprised, and hopeful!!!
