Soory I didn't post this morning, but I was very busy this morning buying the ingredients for my baking today.Today is our 41st wedding anniversary. We were going out to the Wharf Restaurant for lunch to celebrate but suddenly Leo took ill. He's achy all over. Don't think its the flu as he had his flu shop a month a ago.So if hes feeling better we're going to go out tomorrow instead.
Both of us woke up late again,as it was to cold in the bedroom to get up. Baked my Revolution Rolls,RR Danish Pastry[rev rolls with cream cheese & l/c jelly put on top] and my Pumpkin Bake today.
Got on scale today and I'm another 1 lb down, hopefully it not going to change because of the TG holiday.
DIVA-Thanks:thanks: for starting us up this week.BIG CONGRATS to you for losing [2-lbs].
AUD-That what I'm doing sandwiching the holiday. Hope to I keep the loss that I had over the weekend.
Hugs :) BB

Is everyone gearing up for Thanksgiving? I'm feeeling a bit under the weather. I have a sore throat and runny nose not to mention TOM cramps are doing me in. I was up all night with them crying and taking too many Ibuprofens and using the heating pad. I was so out of this morning I couldn't even get up to carry M to school. Gotta go ly down now, I hate this time of month. C'yall later sweet taters!

Diva, if you can, try robaxacet or something else with methocarbamol works good for cramps as well.
I guess its going to be a quiet week.

Hi Low Carbers, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
11-21-2007, 11:27 AM
Work has been crazy and pretty stressful the last week or so and that's why I haven't been posting. This one needs to be fast too. Lots to do.
I have kind of stepped back from my ultra low carb plan for a while. Monday was my birthday and I kind of went completely off plan- but it was good. I really enjoyed both the food and the family. Went out to dinner with DH and all three kids which is unusual now that two of them have left the nest. My plan is to stay more or less OP just to maintain for the rest of the week (including Thanksgiving) and then start induction again on Monday. I'm not totally commited to induction on Monday though because of all the other stressors going on right now. I'll just have to decide if I'm ready or not. I don't want to start something I can't finish.
But I'd like to continue to post and follow some kind of low carb plan, even if I can't do induction.
We just have the three kids home for Thanksgiving, no company. We used to have the grandmothers, but we lost both my mother and DH's mother over the last three years and that really does put a shadow over the holiday. I wish we had planned a trip or something, but I used up all my vacation time having fun all summer so I'm stuck at the stressful workplace through both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have tomorrow off so I'll do the whole dinner for the five of us. And I feel like I have to say publicly that I'm very thankful for three healthy kids who still want to spend Thanskgiving with me!! I'll gladly make them all the Thanksgiving favorites and I'll try really hard not to eat too much of it. Hope everyone else is having a good holiday!! Lynn

Hugs :) BB
YVW beachie - hope Leo gets to feeling better and it is kind of good to split up the celebrations. Were you married near Txgiving 41 years ago?
Glad you checked in lynnar! We all chat here whether we're on Induction all the way to eating crazily OffPlan!:dizzy: No worries there. I've had an incredibly stressful last couple of weeks on a lot of levels - sometimes I reacted in a positive way:) - sometimes I reacted in my predictable cycle of negative ways.:( Trying to find the balance myself. We've lost a lot of loved ones in the last years so totally no what you mean about the shadow on the holidays . . . making the best of it.
Happy Happy sent out to you too fittie & leenie - gotta get this LC Show on the road!:carrot:

I was not great, I was not horrible. I am ok with both.
11-23-2007, 11:13 AM
Good Morning Ladies:)
Hope you all had a wonderful TG. Leo & I did,we didn't skim on any of the traditional foods, except we eat in portion sizes. We had Turkey, gravy, green beans, creamed onions,Homemade cranberry sauce[cranberries & splenda],mashed sweet potato made with chicken stock & pumpkin spice, and that was it.At supper I had a turkey sand and the pumpkin bake dessert I got from FIT.Scale went up .5- lb but I believe I will lose it by tomorrows W-I.
Leo is still not feeling Well, his joints especially in the knee & shoulder area are brothering him.He has not fever,so I can't blame it on the flu.Plus he had the flu shoots last month,so I don't think is a late reaction.Of course doctor is on vacation and won't being in until this Mon.
Why don't we start a challenge starting Monday, just entering how much you want to lose now up until New Years Eve.I'm in a challenge right now and it motivates me not to make bad choices. We could do that, and motivate each other,ANY One interested, think about it.I like to see the 150's so that a 4 lb lost by the end of the year.
Hugs :) BB

BB, I will join you in the challenge.
Thanksgiving day was great, my food choices weren't horrible, but not too great either. OH well, I could have done much worse. Dragging myself out of my carb induced haze back to Low Carb life today.
Laura, thanks, my pic. link is from the day I met goal, so it's been up here a while.
DH and DS left at 4AM to go deer hunting. It was 27 degrees here, so I stayed in my warm comfy bed. After all, I don't need to get a deer, cause I got one a couple weeks ago with the hood of my car. LOL.
BB- I'll join ya too!
I don't have a Turkey hangover, but definately a carb hangover. I haven't had THAT many carbs in what? 3 Weeks? I don't think I can take it anymore, LOL! My body was like WTH are you doing girl?! I'm sure I have prolly gained back a pound or 2 and I am thinking it really isn't worth it. The Stuffing and taters was lish, but I can so live w/out the pie. I'm feeling a lil' better today too so maybe tomorrow I can go for a walk or something. I don't wanna push the issue because whatever this is landed in my chest and I already have asthma so... Get this, I now have dude looking at how many carbs are in a serving of everything, LOL! I guess I am finally rubbing off on him, hehe! He is amazed at how many carbs they put in stuff. ;) Anyways, we are doing leftovers tonight, minus the pie for me and tomorrow I am strictly back on plan until Christmas!
I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday! Hugs!

Good Morning Ladies:)
My W-I was this morn and i was surprised to see I lost 1-lb during the TG holiday week.I'm so:carrot: happy:carrot: to see the scale moving in my favor.Changed my ticker right away, hope it continues moving downward.
HAPPY TO HEAR THAT YOU WANT TO JOIN ME IN THE WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE THIS MONDAY[11/26]I guess on Monday we post a reasonable number of pounds we want to lose and we start then. The challenge will last for 4 weeks and 1 day. So lets think about this over the weekend.DON'T LET THE NEXT HOLIDAY GET TO YOU,EAT IN MODERATION,ALONG WITH PORTION CONTROL.
LILY-Glad that you had a great TG. I was lucky this year I left the goodies back at the supermarket, and didn't allowed them in my house. I ate the traditional turkey, gravy, green beans, mashed sweet potato with chicken stock and pumpkin spice, and made my own cranberry sauce[whole cranberries with splenda].
DIVA-I didn't give up my traditional foods,I just measured the amounts I ate. See the list I posted to Lily.I was full after the small amount and at supper I had I had a turkey sandwich and the pumpkin bake, that DIANE posted for us. and with all that I still lost [1-lb] at my W-I this morn. It had to be the portions that I allowed myself.
See you guys at the challenge.
Hugs :) BB

I just got back from the gym...it is a COLD day in Boston! :shocksn:
I'm in on the challenge! I leave for Ireland on 12/28 and have set a mini goal for myself. This will def help me stay motivated during the next month.
TG was good - I do a chicken instead of turkey and mashed cauliflower, which I like almost as much as mashed potatoes...the worst (carb) eating was a few pita chips with humus that night a few glasses of wine. I've been peeking threw the LC recipes, tried the jalapeno poppers yesterday!
Enjoy the weekend - Laura
I keep hearing over & over this mashed califlower situation. Can someone explain this to me, lol! Is it really a great sub for actual mashed taters; and if so, how do you make them? I have to go grocery shopping in a lil' so I am hoping to get an answer before I leave because I may very well put it through the test this week.
I am sneaking some good foods and such for the family little by little without even telling them and so far, no one has noticed. I am very pleased that the fiance' has finally come around. I LOVE that he looks at the carbs in foods now. :D
