I thought it was time for a new thread.

Mima - Planning a wedding is exciting. Just know that the bride can get a bit "testy" as it gets closer  Boy, that was one fast trip to Ontario. Time will go fast and then you will be on your way.

Tammy - glad you had yourself a great weekend. It must have been nice for you, to let some of the stress go! Bob did fine on his own, didn't he? We are ALL such worry warts.

Joanne - Hello. Hope you can still have your windows opened. I close mine at night now, just because it gets below freezing and I don't need the water pipes to freeze. I keep them opened a bit during the day, still.

We are supposed to have either freezing rain or snow this afternoon. I am praying for snow. Hate the freezing rain.

I am off to work. Last day this week. Everybody have a great day.

Happy- Thanks for new thread.. My windows are closed right now.. It is 60% and that is cool for me..Trying not to turn on heat.. Hubby would have a fit!
Tops tonight and as careful as I have been this week ,I am still over the top.. When you get my age ,I guess I am just lucky not to gain too much..
I try my best to stay under 150..
Mima- Nothing like planning a wedding.. I have done that and will not get to do that again.. I hope...I thought you were heading down?
Tammy- I bet you did have a good time last weekend.. You needed the break I bet..
Now we all have to start thinking of the holidays.. As usual I would like to get them over and done with.. The planning and work isn't that much fun for me..I am looking for a small christmas tree that I can put on a stand.. Christy will just pull down anything she can reach...I sure wish this dog was less active sometimes.I hear hubby tring to get her out of something,,Got to go..

Mima, my wedding was very small, so I've never been in on the planning for a big wedding. My niece will have a large wedding in June, and I know she and my SIL have been busy over the phone making decisions. She lives in Pittsburgh, PA. The wedding will be about an hour south of us where she and her sweetie went to college (I went there too!).

Anne, I don't like the freezing rain either! Give me snow any day. Much easier to drive on. Hope you had a good day at work.

Joanne, it seems that no matter how careful I am, I still am not losing any more weight. I have such a long way to go, so it is getting very discouraging. When Tim comes home for Thanksgiving, we'll get the trees up and decorated. Kramer never bothers any of the decorations.

Good morning-the plans are coming. I know mydaughter and have had her etsty for a lot less than a wedding-she has been great and so has Jim. I think they will have the inportant things in place by this weekend like the place, caterer and the church. And perhaps the guest list. We haven't met his parents but I will probably call her from FL.
She is so much younger than I am.
Josh had to go to Ontario because they wouldn't let his furniture cross the border without him in person!!!!!! I guess it pays to be careful.
We have most things settled with him-receipts for everything. And copies.
Got a gorgeous playpen for Jessica, Winnie the Pooh. She still has college money.
Gotta paint today. Just a little. Mima

Anne, I couldn't get the link to work. I'll try again later. Our computer has been having some issues lately. I couldn't even get on this site yesterday.

Mima, sounds like things are rolling right along for the wedding! That's great!! I was surprised by why Josh had to go to Ontario, but I agree that it does pay to be careful. I love Winnie the Pooh!!

Going to our church bazaar this morning, then headed toward the mall where my nephew works for Dell. We are going to get a laptop so we'll have a computer for when we go to Georgia in February. I'm glad that he knows how I am because he'll fix me up with one that will be relatively simple!! lol

Mima
11-10-2007, 07:31 AM
I used to use only a laptop=now I have 2 but the laptop is newer-I will take it to FL-I bring it home because if a hurricane hits, I will have it here-ha!!
They are supposed to look into halls today and Jim contacted the church. What I would absolutely love is that they find a church they like and attend it, Heaven knows when he is in Kuwait, they will need all the support they can get .
I didn't feel well yesterday-slept most of the day. I had eaten pea soup and the peas were not mushy-so I think the shells gave me a tummy ache. I don't digest skins. I think I needed the sleep.
Brad went to a wonderful talk at church about persecuted Christians in foreign ;lands-imagine getting persecuted for your belief-we are so fortunate,
Bye for now-have fun at the bazaar and picking out a laptop. They keep improving them. Mima

I'll be a Dell laptop owner when it arrives in a week or so. My nephew will come to the house and show me how to use it and to put some programs on it for me. I know I'll like it when we are in Georgia. I also bought a thing that we will plug the internet thing into, and then we can use the laptop anywhere in the house. I like that idea. I can be using the laptop, and Bob can be doing games on the desktop here.

It would be wonderful if they could find a church that they like, especially with him leaving for Kuwait.

Hope you are feeling better today Mima. I haven't eaten pea soup in ages.

I didn't buy too much at the bazaar. mainly foods: Cookies to take to Tim on Tuesday when we go for the football game. I put them in the freezer. Buckeye candies for Bob. Muffins for Bob and me for breakfast. They are large ones, so they should last several days. Also bought a bag of caramel corn. They used the puffed popcorn so we don't have to deal with the hulls! Smart idea!!! I bought an ornament to give to Tim's new girlfriend if I need a gift at Christmas.

When I was there with my nephew, I realized how much I have missed him! He and Tim are a year apart, and they spent quite a bit of time together at our house over the years. He gave me a big hug when I got there, and he gave me another one when I was leaving. Nice boy. (man? he's 21)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Mima
11-11-2007, 05:36 AM
That is so nice, Tammy! Sounds like you had a good time. Smart idea to buy something to give just in case.
Jim's uncle's friend owns a banquet facility-it's beautiful but looks pricey!!!The guest list is 130 now-that's better than 175,
Then some people may not come.
I got a lot of stuff done yesterday. Then Brad had a service call at 9 pm. And not close by-I went to sleep.
very busy today-Sunday school, church, out to eat with friends, Drive to RI, visit Jessica, and stop at Brad's sister's on the way home. They are talking about her coming home-with a trach! That's scary.
Bye for now Mima

I have a Dell computer.. We got it a couple years ago. I hope it lasts.. I am not sure hubby would agree to get me another if this one goes..
Planning a wedding is so much work. I think saving the money and getting something needed is better.. The service has support groups that keep families informed. My daughter was real happy with the navy ones . Her son was on the Truman and she was given reports all the time.. He spent 5 years on it.. He was in Irag 2 times.. On ship ofcourse but still not the safest place to be..
Nice pictures Happy.. The music was nice even if there was a pause between each picture..My computer may be slowing down.. My dil said maybe it needed a cleanup. I don't know how to do that. She can do it when she comes around.. No telling when that will be..They are so busy that I see them very seldom. Usually when we meet a t some place to eat.
I just may not put up a tree this year..I have a small one to put on the piano.. It lights up. A family member of a patient gave it to me years ago.It is ceramic..White with red lights. My daughter said that is good enough.. I can put lights outside and around bookcase..Christie would tear up anything she could get in her mouth.. She tore up her pillow in her crate last night.. Now she had a old sheet in there.. Good enough. She is still a puppy and I have at least another year before she settles down..At least she is house broke.. I take her out 4 tines a day. Now if I could just train her to not pull me down.. She had me on my butt the other day.. Alot of traffic passing by. You would have thought someone would have stopped and inquired.. NOOOO.. I wasn't hurt just got sore..Thank God I fell in the grass again..
Hope everyone is having a good weekend...Joanne

Mima, you are always so busy!! I would be nervous about her coming home with a trach! Let us know.

Joanne, just tell hubby that we said you have to have a new one if that computer goes out. I'm sure he would listen to us, right?? We had a very small wedding. My dress, Bob's suit, and paying the minister cost less than my SIL's dress when Bob's brother and her got married 3 months after us. It's funny because they haven't been happy all these years. (26 years!!)

I wish I wouldn't have bought a new tree last year. I should have just stuck with the small ones instead. Tim will help put it up over Thanksgiving. It isn't as big as the ones we had before we moved though. I do kind of miss having room for all the trees and the decorations, but I don't miss all the work that was involved.

I am so sorry that no one stopped to help you! I can't imagine that happening around here. I think I like small town living.

Chiro in the morning, meeting the teachers after school for supper, and then water aerobics tomorrow night. I guess I'm busy too! lol

Hope you are all doing well!!

You wonder what you did before you retired. We were gone til almost 8 last night. Caleb is so.......cute!! I held him for a long time. They think the heat should be 75 for him-not good. I swear he almost smiles.
The wedding-they go round and round!!! More people-different place!!! talk of an open bar-I not only refuse to pay for it-I don't want to be around it!!!!
I will tell Jim how I feel. Now Jim will have the minister he knows marry them at the reception place. I will go along with that although it shatters my dream of a church wedding -but that's my dream. Not theirs. It will also sve money.
We are suposed to leave Thurs am but Friday would be better-I ahve so much to do and I am going to Aunties tomorrow-that's important.
My niece wants to go to this bridal shop where they sell dresses on consignment-her dress cost thousands of dolllars and she got it for much much less.
She had her wedding at an inn in VT-3 day affair. It cost me a lot of money between the rooms and the clothes-my kids were in schoool. But it ws awesome.
I am glad it will be warmer this week.
Bye-Mima

Mima, I love babies!! I agree about the 75 degrees! Not good. It's hard to believe that it's time for you to head south again. Time flies, doesn't it? I am so forgetful. Where do you go in Florida? I can't remember if you will be close to Joanne or not. I'm looking forward to my niece's wedding in June. She'll be a beautiful bride. I just wish we knew her hubby to be! I've been around him a couple of times, but he is pretty quiet.

It really is amazing how busy I stay now that I've retired. I'm glad I have time to actually do things that I want to do!

Fort Myers-it's quite far from Joanne but I would love to see Tarpon Springs sometime-heard it's nice.
The wedding is back in the church??? and one of the places we were interested in didn't have that date open/ Don't know about the other-they were closed.
Going to have lunch with Auntie and then to chiro. I did so much packing yesterday!!!That's a good thing. Brad has one more job this afternoon. He had to go out again last night to fix something.
Oil burner keeps going off but Marty is coming today and it's 20 degrees warmer.
I forgot to put 5,000 in the business acct!! But at least it was in the bank-I didn't lose it!!
Bye for now-Mima
I think I found the money for the wedding!! In the bank-

Mima- Let me know when you want to come to Tarpon Springs. I'll show you around..We do have a few nice places here..
Tammy- The only person my hubby listens to is himself.. He is Greek..They think they have to be ruler. Yeah!.. I just let him think it and go on and do my thing..
Today is going to be busy..There is never enough time for me to do everything I want to.. I need to clean my carpet and get ready for Thanksgiving.. Every year I say I am not going to have everyone here. Lots of work..I will try to get them all to bring something. The problem is they all work and have very little time to spare.
I am always trying to make things easy for them..

Good morning Mima, Tammy and Joanne

Mima - it will be time to leave before you know it! Hope you get everything done you need to get done. Planning a wedding is exciting. I did it with my daughter. Wasn't hard, and wasn't a headache. Everything ran so smoothly. I am really organized, as it my daughter. Had everything done months before and it all worked like clockwork. Babies are so sweet, but they sure are a lot of work.

Tammy - Thanksgiving is fast approaching for you Americans. Do you all go shopping on the day after? Boy, you put your tree up early! I don't put mine up until the 18 Dec. Probably because I always had a real one, until the last couple of years. Have to have artificial in this condo. It's ok, but I sure do prefer the real one. It's the smell I like.

Joanne - Hope you don't overdo it at Thanksgiving. They have the time, they just CHOOSE to use it to do other things. They can make the time to stop and pick up something if they don't want to cook. We are cooks in my family. My daughter isn't a baker, but she enjoys cooking. They do eat out, but certainly not like some people. She does make dinners. She is also a busy gal.

I remember when I was working full time, raising 2 kids, hauling them to their extra-curricular activities, and trying to do mine as well. Also maintained a household. Everybody is busy! It is just priorities.

I have a sore throat. Hoping it doesn't go any further, but hubby started out that way and ended up with a doozy of a cold. Stayed home from work yesterday and again today. Just trying to drink lots and rest. I guess what will be will be.

Hope you all have a good day.

Mima
11-14-2007, 06:41 AM
Anne-get some zinc lozenges right away-I swear by them when I feel I am coming down with something. Hope you are ok.
It is exciting to plan the wedding -we got the nice reception place but it was 10 more per person. It's still doable. Suzanne is going to pick up some of the expenses. I sure wish his parents would offer. Jim told them that I had the money put away since Suzanne was born-I did have some money put away but I spent it on the apt. And we didn't sell the camper but God has the money!!! And things cost 2x as much.

And they are going to a Congregational church-not the one I would have picked-there is another one that I liked better-but it's not my decision.
Brad came home so discouraged because a job he did isn't working and he has to take it all apart this morning. He was supposed to stay home and get things done today. That's life.
We will be going to my dil's mother's for Thanksgiving. I will cook squash and probably bring a dessert. I love having other people contribute- even if it's something they bought. That's the way I was brought up.
Went to the chiro-forgot to tell him to stretch my neck muscles for my sinuses.
Bye for now-Mima

Hi ... did you miss me?

Had a bit of bad luck plus I haven't been feeling very well.

We helped daughter move into her new place, she got her own massage therapy place now. Then I got the crud. That went on for a couple of weeks. Finally got some medicine that took care of it. Then I lost Ginger. I left her on the back deck for a couple of minutes, when I went back out, she was gone. Nowhere in sight. We looked and looked. The kids all four came over about 10 minutes after she disappeared and we all looked for a long time and called but she was just gone. We finally decided someone had to have taken her. We put an ad in the paper, put a picture and discrpition of when she went missing, etc, in all the vet's offices for miles around plus the animal shelter but we didn't hear anything for a whole week. Then 7 days later a neighbor called and said he saw her at his place. I went down there and called her and she came. She wasn't dirty, wasn't hungry ... but she was sure glad to see me and glad to be home. Someone close by had her for that week, we're sure of that ... she must have gotten away from them. I cried the first three days and then resigned myself to the fact that she was GONE. I didn't think I'd ever see her again. She's my little miracle. Now she has separation issues. She doesn't want to be two inches away from me. :D That's ok by me! ;)

One of our best friends had back surgery in Nashville 2 weeks ago, his 7th. We went up for that and spent the day then went back another day. I made dinner for them one day after he got home - he's in a wheelchair and she's working. Then Raymond's aunt had eye surgery & she has no one but us, had to take her for that, take her back to the Dr. for follow up and then take her to Nashville to the Dr. for her back ... all the same week. Took her food, also.

On top of that ... Ross has been having problems. I went to school to get him at noon one of the days he was having problems and I didn't realize there was a "hole" in the middle of the room at his school. I have depth perception problems because of the glaucoma and the carpet around the steps that go down into this "hole" area is the same color as the rest of the room so I didn't see the steps going down. My foot was setting right on the edge of the steps and I shifted my weight and fell down the steps and nearly killed myself - I rolled over and over like a car. I'm still all bruised and beaten up from that. That was a week ago.

So ... you see ... I hadn't forgotten you all. Just had a very long run of very bad luck. On top of all that, I went to Nashville (lots of trips to Nashville) to the Rheumatologist) and he said I have to give up something or more than one thing. I don't know what that's going to be. Hubby is telling everybody I'll probably choose him! :p I'm thinking right now it might be playing piano at church. I messed up my arm when I fell down the steps and they seem to be getting along without me playing pretty good so I'm like, "God, You trying to tell me something?" Also, my eye Dr. told me the glaucoma is getting worse. Seems like when it rains it pours, huh? Babies and Weddings sound a lot more fun!!!

Joanne ... I'm worried about putting up a tree with Ginger, too. I put a stuffed thanksgiving bear on one of my livingroom tables today and I've already had to take it away from her twice. I can't imagine what she'll do with a tree full of decorations ... should be interesting. :dizzy:

GEE ... IT'S GOOD TO BE BACK!

It's so good to hear from you-we thought you gave up some stuff already. My favorite saying to people who ask me to do things-I will think about it. So sorry to hear about all yor problems and so gald you got Ginger back.
Well, the place is reserved-Suzanne is funny-she asked the owner why you had to pay 10 more per pesron for the wedding buffet and the other buffet came with hot hors doevres sp???? so he gave her 2 hot ones free. She is a girl after my own heart.
The only way i can get 8 hours sleep is to go to bed at 8. which we both did.
Brad's job got taken care of and then the guy came over and framed the doorway-bartering time!!!! i have to paint but I have mostly everything else done. We are thinking of leaving late afternoon because it is going to snow. SNOW!!!! Gotta go.
I sure hope Josh keeps an eye on things- he doesn't seem to get things totally.
Talk to you when I get to Ft Myers-I almost forgot to have the phone back on!! Mima

Meme- It is nice to have you back...Now stay awhile.. It is a sure bet someone had Ginger.. Glad you got her back.. I decided I am not putting up a tree. It will be the first time In 53 years.. Christie doesn't miss a thing and would have it down before I finished putting the lights on..I will do something else..
Happy- I got on the phone and spoke to DIL and daughter.. They each will bring something.. I still have the turkey and dressing and some pies to make.. The rest I will buy.
I cleaned rugs and floors yesterday ,Christie gets a bath today. I will do a few more things and shop the rest of the week..
Tammy- I think I have said that we are more busy after we retire than before.. I wait for 9 pm to get time for myself..
Hello Mima I guess you are on the road..Joanne

Mima, I'm not sure where Ft. Myers is. I'll have to get out the map. When we leave GA the end of February, we'll be going to Tampa for a few days to visit Bob's family. It would be cool if you, Joanne, and I could meet up, but I don't know how we'd get it accomplished. For Thanksgiving and any other time we get together, we always all take something. We are going to my aunt and uncle's house on Thanksgiving, I'm in charge of the grean bean casserole, rolls, deviled eggs, and anything else I want to bring. We're still not sure when we'll get together with my brothers and their families. Basketball games, college kids, jobs - isn't easy to find a time anymore.

Joanne, I won't tell your hubby that he just thinks he is the ruler!! I'm glad you made the decision about the tree. I don't think I'm putting up the one on the porch this year unless Tim puts it up when he is home over Thanksgiving. I definitely want to get the tree up in the living room/dining room area though.

Anne, I went shopping on the day after Thanksgiving once many years ago. There was a train set that was going to be a great bargain, and we wanted that for Tim for Christmas. I have never done it since then. It was way too crowded for me. I started the tradition of putting up my tree on Thanksgiving weekend years and years ago. I love to just sit and look at the trees, so that gives me alot more time.

Meme, I would have been just sick about Ginger! I am so glad that she is back safe and sound. Kramer got out one night, and he was gone for about an hour. I was a mess! And then for you to have that fall down the steps! You poor thing!!! Hope you start healing and feeling better soon!!! My youngest brother has glaucoma. You are right about when it rains it pours. IT'S SO GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!

Bob was looking at the calendar one day and made the comment that he doesn't know how we had time to do anything else when we were working! lol

Hello Stranger. It's nice to hear from you. I hope you are now feeling better. You are lucky to have gotten your little furbaby back, I think. Sorry you have been feeling so poorly. That eyesight is bad, Meme. Glaucoma is not a fun thing, that is for sure.

Mima - have a safe trip. Hope you guys got everything done that you needed to do.

Joanne - Glad you called and asked them to bring something. Every little bit helps, when there are lots of you. I haven't put up a tree for 3 years now. I just have a small 4 1/2 ft. tree that I use. I set it on a table. It is decorative and we really aren't home much through Christmas anyway. Just need some sort of decoration for when I have company.

Tammy - Can I come to your TG dinner, please?? Sounds like it is going to be really good  That day after TG sounds like our Boxing Day, the day after Christmas. Great sales, tons of people, and NO Anne! My kids go and line up for heaven sakes, just to get into the dang store. Nothing I want that badly, I am afraid.

Here is a great song. You should all have a listen.

It's called Christmas with a C

Hey Everyone! I'm new to the group, finally deciding to give weight loss an honest try. I've had fibro for about 7 years, and have just been diagnosed with epilepsy. The medication I have to take for it (depakote) basically guarantees weight gain, so I'm definitely feeling challenged. I've cut my calories and started working out, but at this point, can only do 30 minutes on the elliptical. I don't think I'll see any dramatic change soon, which is discouraging. I know there are many other benefits from eating healthy and exercising, but they just don't seem motivation enough for me. It's 6:35 now on the US East Coast, and I'm exhausted!!!

Anyway, you guys seem really nice, and I hope to get to know you all much better!

-Calley

Just 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week and a decent diet should show remarkable weight loss if you haven't already been on a drastic diet and lost a lot of weight. I think you'll see a drop in weight if you keep that up. Welcome to the fibro board. A trick I learned ... drinking lots of water and green tea and upping your protein a little.

I have my boys tonight. I love them but I'd rather have the girls! :p Quieter, less trouble and not as messy. I'm not sure if I'll have any kids tomorrow night or not ... daughter is supposed to have the boys and granddaughters are supposed to both have sleepovers but one of them has a UT infection so I don't know is she will feel like going or if she will want to stay here. Then Sun. I'll have Son's kids, 12 & 10, until Monday when I take them to school. Ain't life grand?

I'm still really sore from that fall I had the first of last week. A little better but I'll be glad when the soreness is gone and I can bend my knee again. Our church is having Thanksgiving dinner Sun. night and they asked me to do one of the turkeys ... I just said "no" this year. I'm getting pretty good at that lately! :) Hubby and I went grocery shopping this morning and we were trying to decide what to take for the dinner. He started naming over some things. I said, goodness ... that's a lot ... too much I think. We are just two people and we always take enough for 10. I think we need to cut back on some things like this. He agreed so we are taking less this year. I'm having to make some hard decisions ... change is not coming easy for me ... but it IS coming!

Tammy
11-17-2007, 09:38 AM
Anne, you are more than welcome to come to the dinner!! Might be a bit of a drive for you though. lol

Welcome Calley!!! 30 minutes on the elliptical is more than I've been doing at anything lately. I've been in one of those "don't care" modes, and I need to kick myself in the behind and get moving!! HEY! I'm almost on the east coast! Well, I'm in Ohio, and that's much closer to the east coast than the west, right? lol

Meme, you mentioned grean tea. I have tried it, and I just can't do it. I do not like tea of any kind, and I honestly gag when I've tried it. Do you think the green tea capsules would be worth my time?

You are having a busy weekend with the grandkids! I just have Bob and Kramer this weekend. Tim will be home on Tuesday, and we are so looking forward to having him home. Good for you for saying NO to the turkey! I think it is wonderful that you are cutting back on what you take for the dinners. It makes sense.

My friends are picking me up in about an hour to go to a bazaar at a local high school, and then of course we will do lunch. The three of us haven't been together for several weeks, so it will be nice. These are the two that I go on a trip with right before Christmas to the b&b for a weekend in the little canal town in Indiana.

That sounds like fun, Tammy. Been awhile since I've been away without Hubby. I used to do that at least a couple of times a year. I'm glad to hear Bob is doing better.

My boys have been pretty good so far. We've had a LOT of homework. Garrett has a test on Monday. Has to fill in a map of the US states plus the great lakes and oceans without a word bank. I found a blank map and a map with the states printed on it. We have been practicing. I had him take a practice test this morning to weed out the ones he didn't need to study. He did pretty good. I've been teaching him some of my "neat cheat" techniques. (That's the only way I made the A list in school!) :p I would take the first letter in each word (in this case the state) ... link them all togeter, and make a sentence, the crazier the better. The states would all run straight down or across in a row of course. Like Iowa, IL,IN, & OH ... I would say I met an ill indian in Ohio & Della wore Mary's (land) New Jersey then borrowed Virginia's Penn and we took a pencil and traced the states as we said that one. After I taught him about 6 or 7 of those and an easy one for the great lakes (took about 30-40 minutes) & he had all of them. Then Ross had THIRTY math problems. We did half last night and half this morning. Rough being a teenager today!

Meme, my friends and I really do have a good time. I think it makes our hubbies appreciate us more when we return. lol That's great that you are helping out with the homework. I like the way you helped with the techniques too! I used to give my class little hints like that to help them out. I taught them a poem about the continents, and it's amazing how many remember it when I run into them even now!

I'm up with the dog, but we are both going back to bed for a while. I can sleep a little longer before I need to get up to get ready for church.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Where the heck did everybody go???? I am feeling better, at last. Finally went to the Dr. and got an antibiotic, as my sinuses were infected.

Mima should be in Florida by now, I think.

Not much new, just working a lot this week. Tomorrow is a Pizza Day at work, so I guess that will be lunch, along with an apple.

I don't know if any of you subscribe to Dr. Mercola, but this was interesting and it seemed to work quickly. It is called EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE. Here is the link to the videa and the free book you can download. Well worth the time.

http://www.mercola.com/forms/eftcourse.htm

The download from the book if just under the video.

My upper back has been so sore all afternoon, and I just tried this and it is feeling so much better, and NO meds needed.

I hope somebody comes back!

Hey, Anne ... sorry about that. I got tied up with the kids over the weekend and then it took me a couple of days to 'get over it'. ;) Now I'm knee deep in 'Thanksgiving'. Trying to get my house cleaned up, shop and bake, etc. Plus, had to go to church this afternoon to practice for next Sun. since a lot of the praise team will be going somewhere for Thanksgiving, so we had to get together early. I still have laundry stacked up in the basement and more baking to do. My bed is piled high with CDs I started to sort and didn't finish. I may just have to stack them and leave them until after Thursday. Too much! Glad you are feeling better, though. I made an app. yesterday to go get my knee seen about - where I fell. Then I called and cancelled today. No time. Besides, I figure it will eventually take care of itself. If not, I'll go after Thanksgiving. (Maybe)

Well, I've got go go take the puppy out & finish cleaning up the kitchen. Later.

I have to admit I haven't been on here since the other day. I've been in one of those depression things, and it hasn't been pretty. I am always down around the holidays. I started feeling better yesterday, and I think it's because Tim is home until Sunday.

Anne, I'll have to check out that site. My lower back has still been bothering me from the arthritis, but the rest of my back has been so much better since I've been going to the chiropractor. I've never heard of Dr. Mercola. Pizza Day sounds good! I'm glad you are getting to feeling better! I usually get a sinus infection about once a year, and it can be so painful.

Meme, LOL to "getting over it". You are as indecisive as I am about going to the doctor about things. I always think it will get better, so why waste the money. Sounds like you are super busy as usual! We're going to my brother's house tonight for Thanksgiving. I made the broc/caul salad last night to save some time. Today I work on deviled eggs and green bean casserole. Those are my contributions to the meal. I'll take the same thing except no salad to my aunt's house tomorrow. It will be good to see everyone.

Mimi, I pray you've had a safe trip, and that you'll be rejoining us soon!!

Joanne, How are you?

Calley, hope to hear from you again!!

I'm sorry. I forgot about it being Thanksgiving. Of course, you are all busy. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.

Meme - GO TO THE DR!!! It probably just won't go away. I know you are busy, but you want to keep that way, and not end up having to stay off your leg. A month ago, when we were staying at my daughters, Ashley came and got in bed with me in the morning. I asked her what she had learned at school (she usually says "nothing"), and she says, all the Continents, Oceans, the Great Lakes and the Provinces and Territories of Canada. Then she proceeded to rattle them off. She knew them all. She is now in grade 3 and moving right along. She is like her Mom, and has a memory like an elephant.

Tammy - sorry to hear you have been down. Not a nice place to be. I am very fortunate that I have never had a problem with depression. I pray that it continues. Just feel better.

Joanne - prayers for your kids. Perhaps it will be a Thanksgiving, truly, and they will let it go, whatever it is that has happened between them. Life is short, way to short, to go on like that.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU.

Hi y'all. I have been here since Sunday night but we didn't get the cable on til 1 today-even though they were supposed to do it last Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And our phone batteries are dead so we have to get a new phone. Batteries seem to cost as much as the phone.
Mr Evan is here-we had to go to Walmart and buy more track for his trains-I figured that was wotrh the almost 20$ that it
cost.
We are going to his oth
er grandma's for Thanksgiving. We are bringing squash and turnip and a bouquet of flowers.
Wow-we were so tired when we got here but we are ok now, Brad has his whole train room apart-again and he is moving my washer and dryer -again!
Gotta get into an exercise routine! warm here-in the 80's.
Tampa is about 2 hours north of here.
The wedding plans are about the same.Bobby is going to Suzanne's future in-laws for Thanksgiving. They have gotten close. She says he has a gf but doesn't know the details. I want to know the details!!!!!
Bye for now-Mima

Joanne, when I was reading your message, I remembered that your kids hadn't gotten along for a while. I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers that this will be the year that they reconnect. Life is too short to hold grudges about things. Let us know how it goes. I have everything finished to take tonight except the green bean casserole. I figured they wanted it to be hot, right?? lol Tell Christie that I said to behave!!

Anne, that is great about Ashley knowing all of that! I know I taught that in 2nd grade (not about Canada of course), and there were very few who caught on to all of it. My depression issues started after my mother passed away 10 years ago. My father had a stroke 4 months later, so that kind of did me in for a while. I think after the holidays I'll be fine. I hope!

Mima, glad to hear you are in Florida safe and sound! Evan has to be growing like a weed!! Do you drive to Florida straight through or do you stop along the way? We usually stay overnight one night when we go to Jekyll Island, but I think this year we may stay two nights. I'll be doing most of the driving unless Bob really gets lots of strength back before the end of January. You are 2 hours from Tampa, huh? That could almost be doable to get together!

It started raining a while ago. Took me by surprise! I had no idea it was supposed to rain. It's about 60 degrees, so it has been a nice couple of days. Tomorrow it will be in the 30's.

Friday night Tim and I are going to a dinner theater to see White Christmas! I can't wait!!! The 3 of us went last year to see It's a Wonderful Life. Bob just isn't up to going and sitting for that long. Tim said if it doesn't sound like Bing Crosby singing White Christmas, he's walking out! Ha!!

Mima
11-22-2007, 06:31 AM
Wow-I would love to see that-I will have to check on what's around. Other grandma, Jill and Alison go to a lot of theater and there is lots of it around here.
Couldn't stay up past 8-I sure wish I could get back on a normal schedule.
We had to get a new phone. Ours bit the dust.
I think we need to take it back and forth so it won't lose it's charge.
I think I will go swimming and in the hot tub. We are not going to dinner til 5.Brad has to cut the hubbard squash and turnip.
Happy thanksgiving everyone. Mima
ps-it takes 3 overnights to get here!!!

Tammy
11-23-2007, 09:03 AM
Ok, how many people got up at the crack of dawn or before to go shopping this morning???? Not me! I think I'll spend most of the day recuperating from all the fun from my aunt's house yesterday. We always play games in the afternoon/evening. We played dominoes, and then we broke out the Trivial Pursuit. FUN! Tim was impressed that I knew as many answers as I did. I was a bit surprised myself because usually I get confused and can't remember things. My cousin (a nurse) told me that it might be good for me to do things like that more often to keep my brain awake. She might be right!

Mima, the hot tub sounds great! We usually make it to South Carolina before we stop on out way to Jekyll Island, but I think it will be sooner than that this year.

Good morning-I did go to Walmart early yesterday and there were so few people there. On Thurs-the toilet overflowed into the shower and tub and the floor in my bathroom-HUGE YUK!!!! We had to wait til FRiday for the plumber-the pipes had disconnected under the mobilehome-it was worth 122$ for Brad not to go under there. So I was at 2ally worls getting disinfectant-worked on the 2 bathrooms quite a while=much longer than it took to fix.
Sure glad I wasn't having dinner-we had a nice time at Jill's mom's house. Excellent food. We still don't have a regular phone-no voice-too weird.
We are taking Evan to a train show. We are also taking Brad. Ha!!!
He has taken the lanai apart-moved the washer and dryer which is tricky because they are not hooked up and I have TONS of laundry. Well, life with Brad is always exciting!!!!You never can get used to things being in one place-we have owned this for 4 years and this is the third time they have been moved-but it's closer to the door. He wants to make his layout bigger-I shouldn't complain-he works so hard when he is home.
Yikes-I almost lost my post. My computer starts acting starnge but I just found out that if I refresh it-it straightens out. Hi all you missing-Mima

Tammy
11-24-2007, 07:18 PM
Mima, too bad about the toilet problem! I agree that it was better to have someone else to it. It does sound like like with Brad would be exciting!!

The dinner theater was nice last night. The voices were beautiful! I do believe that I like the movie, White Christmas, better. This was pretty different in spots, but I guess you have to expect that on stage. Food was yummy! Tim and I sat at a table for 4 with a couple celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary. We had so much fun with them.

Today Bob's son and his family were here for a while. We all had a nice visit.

Sounds like a good time, Tammy. Hubby asked me tonight if I wanted to go to a movie but I knew he just asked because he felt guilty. He left at 3:30 yesterday morning and didn't get back until midnight last night. I stay alone every night all week long and I thought we were finally going to have a long weekend ... then he goes and breaks it up by making a trip to get trailers on Fri. night. Some friends asked us to go to Nashville with them over the weekend ... shopping, shows, etc. We couldn't go because of his trip. I sat here alone all day and night yesterday and I just told him I wasn't in the mood to do anything tonight. He asked me today if I wanted to put up some Christmas decorations ... I told him I didn't have any Christmas spirit today. He asked me if I wanted to go out and eat with a couple (friends) that he had PROMISED last week that we'd get together with this weekend. The man had surgery recently and then threatened to kill himself because he was depressed. His wife is having to have someone stay with him all the time while she works. He told her we'd go eat with them and try to "cheer him up." I told him, I'm sorry but I just didn't really feel like cheering someone else up right now. That's something I've done all my life. Pretended to feel good when I don't to make someone else feel better. Silly isn't it? I always have just "gone along" with whatever anyone wanted to do and smiled. I finally said NO. I'm tired of smiling when I don't feel like smiling. It's going to rain and it's cold. I hurt and I don't feel like smiling.

Sorry ... didn't mean to vent on you all. The Holidays make me grumpy sometimes, too. I love the Holidays most of the time but ... for some reason, this year I don't feel so good.

Mima
11-25-2007, 05:35 AM
Sorry about that, Meme. I think men don't realize how we feel about certain things unless we tell them directly-they get in their own world. And sometimes you have to tell them of your expectations. I keep trying to make Brad neat-He just wants to forge ahead on projects-that really has nothing to do with your situation.
I got my icky wash done-bleached all the stuff that mopped up the floor-then I saw that there was water in the vent-another YUK!!!
Finally got the phone fixed,-When we go to Sunday School-I need to ask them about going to Jamaica-we should have 10 but not sure -nice thing is that Isaac said we would stay where we were last year-nice place-woke up at 2:30. Hope I can get a nap before church, Mima-yeah for dinner theaters!

Tammy

Meme, that is too bad you couldn't go to Nashville with your friends. I'm sure it would have been a good time. I think you and I are alot alike. I have also done the "put on a smile and forget I feel bad" around others. It finally takes it's toll. I have been in pain the past few days, and I know with the cold it will only get worse. I'm supposed to have water aerobics tonight, but the water in the pool has been so cold lately that I don't even want to go. Even after the hour workout, I am still cold when I'm there.

Mima, when will you be going to Jamaica?

I met some retired teacher friends for lunch today. It's always good to see them. Meeting some other friends tomorrow, plus chiropractor.

I didn't mean to gripe so much ... it's just that I stay home alone all the time and I've said that over and over. Hubby went to sit with the man who is home alone all morning this morning ... yet he left me home alone again to do it. He came back at noon, just in time to eat and leave for work, and said, well he seems to be in a good mood today and feeling really good. I said well good for him.

It's dark outside and raining cats and dogs, can't even take the puppy out to go potty. Pain level is really bad today. Guess I'll camp on the couch all day and night again!

Good thing is ... I have TV, books, computer and puppy (and pain pills). ;) Plus, I can always SLEEP!!! :p

Meme- I am about where you are right now..My hubby sits and watches tv all day. eats and sleeps.. I thought when I retired things would be a little better... Now I spend all my time taking care of him ,the house and the dog..
I haven't started Christmas shopping yet.. Our son sent his step son over here to help us with the yard. Ofcourse we pay him. He really needs the money.. He has moved back in with our son and his mother. I don't know how long that is going to last..He better find a job.. The son won't put up with him laying around the house..He did as much work as 2 men could do in 2 days.. He will be back tomorrow to do some more..Maybe!My yard already looks better than it has in a long time.. Now he can put it all on a trailer and haul it all off.
Thanksgiving went really well.. I was real worried how the daughter and son would get along.. It seemed as if the both of them were trying to be at least cordial. Our DIL went shopping the next day with us and we had a really nice time. Didn't buy much. There really were not that many bargains.
Tammy- It is always nice to meet up with friends. I stopped going to the spa for water exercise because the pool was so cold.
Mima- Men have no clue sometimes how we feel about things. I think they have a one tract mind sometimes and only see what they want to see.
Hello Happy... Joanne

Good morning-uzanne called me 3 times yesterday worrying about the guest list-it is 16 people over what we planned but there will be that many not coming.I'm sure.
I saw beautiful wedding gowns at Goodwill for 69.99. Not what she wants but I will keep looking. Just for fun.
Evan was here while Jill took a test to be a baggage scanner at the airport.
I slept horribly last night-woke up when he got up and then he tossed and turned for at least an hour, Going into the other bedroom tonight-gotta break that pattern.
I can't shop til after the 8th-We have too much on our card now. We try not to carry a balance.
We are going to Jamaica in Jan or Feb. Got to get some stuff together-air fare is 79 each way form Ft Lauderdale. That's good.
Meme-Brad goes out and fixes things for everybody else and we have so much at home that needs to be done. Of course, he gets paid. I could pay him out of the business acct and then take the money back!!
Hopefully,I can get the car serviced tday.

Bye Mima

Hi Fibro people ! I'm new to this board and website and I love that there are others with Fibro and losing weight. I was diagnosed about 3 years ago and there are some things I'm still trying to figure out. I'll be lurking trying to find info. I just thought I'd say Hello!

Mima
11-28-2007, 06:11 AM
Hi there! We all have had fibro for so long that we don't particularly talk about it but we sure have info. So just ask!!!! And welcome.
I am so happy-called a different insurance co. for the mobile home and we saved $400 and got a better policy. That's def. a PTL because I have been praying about our finances-we spent lots of Brad's business income on the apt
and there is not as much left-but I can move things around-and then there's the wedding!!!
Evan is coming today-a woman across the road takes care of her great grandaughter so they may have a playdate.
I think I am eating too much sugar-have to break that cycle. Still taking probiotics and still have been relatively good.
I can't do my Christmas shopping til after the 8th-too much on this credit card. I am itching!!!
How is everyone doing?
Bye for now-Mima

Hi Tamely, welcome. If you have any questions just ask, and between us we may come up with an answer for you :)

Mima - sound like you and Evan will have a good time. A play date is always nice.

I am sorry, I can't remember anything anybody said. I am having a fibro flare, plus the OA is acting up big time. I have had the stomach flu since Monday and still have it today, although it has changed direction. I just feel terrible and hurt everywhere from laying in bed. That is surely NOT the answer for people with OA and FM. I feel like I have a knife jammed into my lower spine and also into my left hip.

Meme - I did remember you being lonely. Sit down and talk to your hubby and let him know. Having time for everybody else is fine, but home should come first. You are in need of some TLC.

Hi Tammy and Joanne. Hope you are both well.

Gotta run, and I mean run:o

I have had THAT talk with my husband too many times to count. He's sympathetic for a day or two and then it goes right back to "The Way We Were." What's the point. I had a talk with my daughter today. She just got her own place last month (massage therapy) and is having a little trouble getting regular customers ... may be the time of year it is. She only has 8 regulars so far. She needs money for expenses so I told her if she'd come over 2 afternoons next week and help me clean and decorate I'd pay her. We work really well together. She said she'd be glad to help me out (& of course I'll be glad to help her out!) I'm going to have hubby put my tree up Mon. then Tues. afternoon we'll decorate it. She also said she'd put my Christmas village up for me ... I love looking at it but I always dread putting it up. When I got off the phone with her, I went in the kitchen and told hubby what I did, then I told him HE was going to pay her. He just looked at me for a minute then he said OK. Guess he knew better than to cross me right then. :p Then, after he said OK, I waited a few seconds and told him ... then after Christmas is over I'll have her come back and help me take it all down and you can pay her for that, too! :D He didn't say a word!!! Guess I have a way with words 'cause I think he was speechless for once. ;)

I'm so tired and mostly from doing everything myself. He was getting all over me yesterday for letting the bankbook go so long. I came home and started on it, I worked on it all afternoon and I'm still not finished. I will have to work on it all afternoon again today and I have washing stacked up to my knees in the basement I'm trying to take care of. Like Anne, I'm hurting so bad I can't move anything without excruciating pain somewhere. I was hoping when it stopped raining that would ease up but no such luck. I have church tonight at 6:30 and praise team practice tomorrow evening at 5. Daughter is wanting me to come in for a massage ... I may do that tomorrow afternoon.

Hope you're feeling better, Anne. I know exactly what you're going through and it's no fun. Especially the memory part. Can't remember my name some days. Wish I could forget I have fibro!!!: p

Meme, I think that's great that you and your daughter can help each other out. And having hubby pay for the help is a good idea!!!!

Joanne, glad that your son's stepson was able to work in your yard and help get things done for you.

Mima, $79 each way to Jamaica doesn't sound like a bad deal at all! You really lucked out on the insurance!!

Tamely, welcome to the group!!! Ask questions, and we'll be glad to answer the best that we can. As you can see, we talk about many things, and we've been doing that for quite a while. Jump right in, and let us get to know you.

Anne, we all must be into the fibro flares right now. With you having the flu on top of that, you have to be feeling terrible! I hope that you are feeling better soon.

I was in and out doing things on Tuesday. When I came home that afternoon, Bob had done a couple loads of laundry. Last night when I came home from the Y, he had just started another load. He really does help out around here, and I probably don't show my appreciation as much as I should.

Today we go back to the liver specialist for biopsy results. Hubby has decided that the news is going to be bad, but I'm staying positive that things are ok.

Mima

Hi guys-Anne so sorry you are not well-hope you feel better really quick. And Meme-go for that massage. It helps your immune system.Besides the muscles.
My hairdresser has retired-hope I ca get a new one. I have funny hair-very straight and fine so I need someone good.
I have a UTI-luckily I have some meds for that prescribed by my urologist-I suppose I should go see him.
Wenr to church supper-Our church lowered its budget by 20%=putting off the new building-donations are off. We don't have to lowere ours but we probably won't increase it.
Evan was here a long time-the little girl that he was supposed to play with was sick. Next week.We probably should take him home at noon. I get too tired. Then again, she may get the job at the airport.
He is going to be the ring bearer for Suzanne-he said that that will be tricky but I told him that he would be walking in front of his Dad-The 2 boys are giving her away-Her dad died in 2000 but the she used to worry about him coming to her wedding because he drank-the things you worry about probably will not happen.
I better go drink some water, mima

Tammy
11-29-2007, 04:41 PM
Mima, I've had the same hairdresser for 20 years. I hope she never retires!!
Hope the UTI clears up for you. That's neat about Evan being the ring bearer.

Great results from liver specialist about hubby. NO CANCER! Also checked some other things, and those results were also negative. Big relief!!

Happy Canuk
11-29-2007, 05:39 PM
:cp: :cp: Tammy, that is wonderful news. I will bet both of you are so relieved. That must be the best Christmas Gift in the world! even if it is a little early:)

Mima - a change is sometimes good. I also have problems with getting someone who knows how to cut thick hair, no curl, but really good body. If I get the right cut, I am away, if not I struggle with it until the next cut. The gal I have now took over from my old hairdresser, who I really liked. To get a good change though, you sometimes have to change hairdressers (for a new look)

Good price on the tickets to Jamaica. Little Evan will make a cute ring bearer.

You with your UTI's and me with the yeast. Same problem - need to take Probiotics, although some say Prebiotics work better (as far as I can tell that is fiber).

Meme - Glad you and your daughter can help each other out. I would also have hubby pay for some massages for you, after you do all the work:carrot: The rain makes anybody feel poorly. I hope you feel better today. Sunshine helps a lot as well.

Joanne - where ARE you?? Glad you had help with the yard. Hope he came back and did some more.

My exciting life led me to the ER last night. Hubby was out of town (5 hrs away) and my heart went into AFIB. I left it until 1:00 a.m., called a cab, rode for 1.5 blocks and got out at ER ( I live right across the road from the hospital, but it was dark, cold, and I felt terrible). They kept me there until 9:00 a.m. this morning and I walked home. Had two bags of interveinous and gravel. They said my body wasn't absorbing the meds, because of the vomiting and diarrhea, and that the heart would probably do this for a few more days. Apparently this virus can last anywhere from 24 hrs. to 2 weeks:dizzy: I have to stay on a bland diet for 2 weeks:dust: On the upside, I have lost 6 pounds this week:)

Hope you all have a good day.

Mima
11-30-2007, 07:16 AM
Wow Anne-that was an exciting journey-glad everything turned out ok. I think lots of people have that same kind of trouble. Brad's friend Eddie often has to go in for adjustments.
I am better but the med is making me sick and tired, But it doesn't affect yeast like the others. Anne, I take bifidum on a daily basis to prevent yeast and it seems to be working.
It doesn't loook good for Jamaica-I called a couple of people that told me they wanted to go and now they can't. That will give me 2,000 that I can use for other things. But Isaac will be disappointed.
We can go do Mission work locally. Love to do Mission work. If you ever need to be grateful for what you have, that will do it.
Oh Tammy, that is so awesome about Bob-what a weight off your shoulders.
Mike wanted me to babysit but I told him no-3 days is too much. Once I take my med, I will probably lose my energy.
Bye for now-Mima

I agree about the news being a wonderful Christmas present!! Bob's niece said the same thing last night. Her dad (Bob's brother) died from cancer about 25 years ago.

Anne, I hope you are soon feeling better!!! What a scare for you! 6 pounds gone is a real plus though, right?

Mima, I know how I feel after working in the soup kitchen. It sure makes a person appreciate things, that's for sure.

I went for my yearly checkup this morning, and now I need to call for a mammogram for January. My doctor was acting silly when he came in. I've gone to him for 20+ years. He told me that I was back to my old self. He had been worried about me the past few years because of the stress from the job, and he said today he was thrilled to see me looking so good! lol

Hello to everyone!
Tim will be here in an hour or so. He and his new girlfriend will be here for the weekend.

I have some questions that I was hoping some of you with fibromyalgia may be able to help answer. I don't think I have fibro but I have a lot of the symptoms that are associated with it, so I was curious if those of you who have been diagnosed with it may know of or maybe were tested for other conditions that are similar to it. I know its probably best if I go to a doctor, but I recently moved, my schedule has been pretty hectic, etc, so I have been putting it off.

But anyway, I don't believe I have fibro b/c I wouldn't really say I have any kind of severe pain, and I don't think I'd have the "tender points" needed for a fibro diagnosis, but I have been experiencing a lot of the other symptoms. I been incredibly tired/fatigued lately. Almost everyday my the mid-afternoon I feel so tired I could fall asleep. And I have experienced a lot of muscle stiffness/fatigue/pain. I wouldn't say the pain itself is severe, but I wake up quite stiff and it seems to last all day, especially in my neck/back. And whenever I do exert my muscles to a certain extent, walking up the stairs, carrying something somewhat heavy, etc my muscles feel extremely weak afterwards. And among other things I've also been experiencing headaches, digestive problems, lightheadness, temp sensitivity, concentration issue, legs/arms "falling asleep".

I know you guys aren't doctors, and I probably should go see one, but does anyone have any ideas of what these symptoms may be related to? I've done a little bit of research and found that it could be thyroid or adrenal conditions or low BP etc, but I don't really know.

Hi!!! Fibro people deinitely have the trigger points-if you press anywhere on my body-it hurts.
That let down in the pm leads me to wonder how much sugar you eat. That can give you lows after a while. And it can cause muscle pain. Low thyroid makes you tired. How much exercise do you get.?
I would go to a rheumotologist for a diagnosis. There are so many forms of arthritis. If you have fibro, there are so many things that you can do or take to help you. I was so fortunate that my doc knew what I had 25 years ago and sent me to a rheumotologist. My pain was excruciating at the time and now it's so manageable.
Alison is taking the SAT's today. Please pray for her. We went to the registry yesterday and we replaced my license and the trailer registration-both of which we lost,
I see a storm coming in the Northeast-and we haven't got the Weather channel-have to call Comcast!!! We like to know what we are missing.Sorry!!
Let us know what the new girl is like, Tammy.
Have a great weekend. Mima

My name is Eliza. I'll be 45 the day after Christmas :0) I have fibro and gained a ton of weight due to the meds they've been trying on me. I'm starting the 3-hour diet next week. I ordered the book from the library and can't wait to pick it up. Is anyone else trying that diet? I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks, me.

Razz, before I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, my family doctor ran many tests for so many different things. I honestly don't remember them all - lupus, MS .
He finally referred me to a rheumatologist, and she diagnosed me the first visit because of the trigger points. She did rerun some of the tests that had already been run because I was borderline on a couple of the tests. I knew next to nothing about fibro at that time.

I would definitely advise you to go to a doctor, a rheumatologist would be your best bet.

Mima, we had rain with sleet earlier this afternoon. I am NOT ready for winter!! Let us know how Alison does on the SAT!!

Tim's new girlfriend is very sweet. Outgoing, a bit of a tomboy if there still is such a thing. They are so funny together. She seems very comfortable around us, and I feel the same with her. They've only known each other since band camp in August. I told Tim that I hope they aren't rushing into anything.

Eliza, I am 52, so I'm a bit older than you. I lost weight like crazy right before I was diagnosed, then after starting on meds, I also gained quite a bit. Not fun at all. I really don't know anything about that diet. Could you give me some information on it?? I see you are south of Chicago. A bit nippy there, I'm sure!

Went to a surprise 60th b-day party tonight for my friend's husband. He was totally shocked! It was so much fun!!! he kept talking about paybacks. lol

Mima

Hi guys!!! That party sounds like fun, Tammy. We are going to lunch with friends who don't get up early so we are going later today-9:00. I will ask in SS about Jamaica but there is writing on the wall.
Put up some lights-imagine 80 and in shorts!!! At home, they will get that sleet tomorrow.
Did anyone see Radio City Music Hall show last night. We went to that so many times with my mother and SIL-brought back some memories!!!
It will be in the 70's next week!!! yeah,
Bye for now-Mima ps-I don't diet because there are so many foods I can't eat, but I try to get in exercise.

Eliza62

Hi Tammy, the 3-hour diet is just as it sounds :0) You eat 200 calories every three hours and 400 for dinner. The snack before bed is only 50 calories though because you never want to eat too close to bed. A few of the personal trainers from the club I work at are doing it and it's awesome because it levels your metabolism and speeds it up. I also totally cut pop out of my day, there are 16 teaspoons of sugar in one regular coke!

Yesterday we had an ice storm...it was sooo slippery and cold. Today it's in the low 40's a raining...yuck...I hurt but who doesn't right :0) I'll just take my flexiril and a hot bath and snuggle up.

Good morning-up at 3:30. I guess I will have to accept my sleep pattern. The thing that bothers me is that I am tired during the day.
We are going to a gathering of Sunday school this afternoon. Was thinking about Christmas shopping this am-15% off at Beall's outlet on Mondays. We will not go to Jamaica this year so that frees up my stash!!!! Now I have to tell Isaac.
Had a nice dinner at Steak and Ale-really like that place. It's so great for you to join our group-Eliza.
Tammy-we are going to a train show in Tampa on Feb 2-will you be there then?? We could meet-and Joanne???
Bye for now-Mima

Tammy
12-03-2007, 06:05 AM
Mima, I did see part of that Radio City Music Hall show! It was great!!! It is extremely windy this morning. The dog could have blown away when he was outside!! It is also about 27 degrees. Wish it was warmer!!!

Eliza, that diet sounds like it's right up my alley! I am in the habit of snacking often lately. If I would make better choices for my snacks, I might do Ok. The doctor told my hubby the other day that it might be good for him to eat smaller meals during the day instead of 3 big ones because of some of the health issues he is having. Might be something for him too, but he doesn't need to lose any weight. I do drink Diet Pepsi quite a bit. I will have a REAL pepsi sometimes, and I know that isn't good for me at all.

Yuck to the ice storm!! We had some sleet on Saturday, but it didn't last long. It was in the 50's yesterday, so it was pretty nice, but like I said above, today isn't nice at all!!

I take flexeril if I remember to take it early in the evening. Otherwise, I can't get awake the next day. My cousin was taking 2 a day. I would never be able to function taking 2. I should break them in half, and take 1/2 at night and see if that makes a difference.

hubby and I are going away later today and staying overnight. Just want to get away. He hasn't been much of anywhere since he came home from the hospital in September. Need to start doing more before we take off for Georgia the end of January.

Not sure if I'll be back on today or not. Everyone have a great week!!

Welcome Eliza and Razz..
Razz- Go to a good doc. and get the proper help ypu need.. Ofcourse we are here to support you but the medical people are the ones who would be the best judge of your health..
Eliza- I hope your diet works for you.. It sounds to me like a 1000 cal. diet.. I am still a believer of Weight Watchers.. They are the most healthy. Slower maybe but slow is good and the best way to go..Also 50% should be exercise..I have been on diets of most every kind most of my life.. I am probably at 75 (in march) older than any of the group. It was not untill the last 5-6 years that I got my act together and lost 74 lbs..Now it is the struggle to keep it off.Nothing is ever easy..In other words like I told a friend.."there is no easy button here."
Tammy -It sure sounds good for us to get together in Feb. ?
Hello Happy ,meme- I haven't bought the first thing for Christmas yet . It is panick time..Joanne

Hi everyone. I tried Weight Watchers and I didn't do well. I was really careful but hardly lost anything. So far the 3H is doing great. I'm finding it easy and can't wait to see the cookbook that he has out. My favorite recipe from WW is the 0 point soup...just made it yesterday...yummm!

Have a great day everyone :0) E

Good morning-still can't sleep-probably is stress-I get sort of depressed when we first get here, missing the people back home. It's just an adjustment and a transition.
We went to a nice gathering with some of the Sunday scho0ll class-her house was so decorated. 2 of my friends couldn't believe I was going to be 70 next summer. Those are good friends!!! 3 of the people were around 85. It's just amazing. One of the couples have been married for 5 years-they are 85!!! I guess it;s the weather. And one lady was sad because it's only 4 months ago that her husband died.
The rent is in the bank but not the satellite payment. Or another payment to Home Depot. I like to keep it simple. Do all things at once.
Evan is coming today!! Hope he is good, He usually is-he only gives his parents a hard tome.
Got some good buys at Beall's Outlet.
Have a good time , Tammy. And hi everyone else. It's nice to have new people aboard our group.

Welcome to our group Eliza. Is that the diet plan by Jorge Cruise? It looks like it would work ok. I need to get busy and do something.

Well, those 6 pounds I lost, I gained back, just by going to the hospital and have a couple bags of intravenous. I haven't eaten much for a week, and yet no weight loss at all. Go figure! Inches are gone though.

I still am not feeling great. I will work from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and see how this goes today.

We did our cookie exchange at work yesterday. I had to bake 9 doz cookies, but now I have a nice variety of 9 doz different things. So that is nice.

Mima - hope you start to get some sleep soon. What time do you go to bed? and do you nap during the day?

Tammy - enjoy getting away. It will do you both good.

Joanne - It would be great if you, Mima and Tammy could arrange to meet.

Well, I am going to go have a cup of coffee and see how that works for me. See you later.

Mima

Hi! I finally got a good night's sleep-I went to bed at 8 because I am going to Art but went to bathroom at 2 so I went back to sleep til after 4. I took care of Evan yesterday-but I did take a nap-but I have been doing that for years and always slept. What I like to do is go to bed at 9 and get up at 5.
I am glad you are better Anne. 4 hours of work is enough.
Hope Tammy is getting destressed.
Evan was so good yesterday and actually ate lunch. I do not feed him any snacks.
Can't wait for painting-it's fun!!!
I am so glad it's recycle day. Bye for now-Mima

Mima, your sleeping habits sound almost as bad as mine. I've been taking Lyrica and it isn't doing much for me. I'm up to 2 at night now but I still can't sleep and wake up at all hours. Sorry you aren't going to get to go on your trip.

Glad to see we have some new people. Welcome!!! I don't much like "diets" either. I will cut back now and then if I gain a few pounds and maybe cut way down on my bread and sugar ... don't much like bread anyway and the sugar makes me hurt worse. I don't drink a lot of cokes and when I do I never drink regular cokes ... always diet. I usually just drink tea or water. I'm a big believer in green tea. If you want to lose weight start the day with a 100 cal. yogurt drink, up your protien (lean white meat, fish and eggs) & greens (salads, green beans, etc.) and drink a lot of water and green tea. Make your snacks stuff like sugar free jello or pudding and once or twice a day one of those 100 cal. snack packs. This way of eating ever fails and you don't get hungry or jittery.

Daughter came over yesterday and we got all the decorating done. She's coming back Fri. to help me clean. She went to pick up the kids from school yesterday afternoon and bought a bunch of different stuff to decorate my tree with. Seems she didn't like what I had. :p I have an angel tree but she wanted some other things to go with it ... I had gold and she said she thought silver would look better. When she finished, my tree topper didn't match, my tree is in the dining room and my table runner and centerpiece didn't match. So I had to buy all new stuff! She appologized. Said she didn't think about all that. I said, that's what happens ... you can't change one thing without changing everything. Oh well, now I'll have a whole new look for Christmas ... even it it did cost me nearly $200. :D

Hubby said he'd move the living room furniture & vacuum and clean the baseboards tomorrow & I want to clean out the window sills and set up my candles, tomorrow night I have praiseteam practice, Fri. daughter will help me finish the cleaning and Fri. night Jenna is spending the night and I have a Ladies meeting ... it's our Christmas party & we're exchanging secret pal gifts, I got a little gift for Jenna today because she will be going with me. Then Sat. night we have our Sunday School Christmas party at church. Full week ahead. I spent 7 hrs. in town today & didn't get much done. It was packed. Dread to see what it will be like as it gets closer to Christmas. I'm doing most of my shopping for the kids online this year. I thought about going to NC after Christmas but the more I think about it the less I think about it. That flexeril and a quilt sounds pretty good to me! ;)

This season sure gets busy, especiall when you are involved in so many things-trouble is you like all of them. Secret gifts are sure fun.
Loved Art class-we have 2 new members-one with a wooden leg-we need to get to know names so we won't call people by their body parts. We will get a full class in January. Love the teacher-she is so great!! and knowledgeable.
Tammy-when will you be in Tampa????
An Evan free day-it motivates me to get things done. I think the decorations are causing allergies-actually I know because it happens every year.
We have the greatest jacuzzi-I put this monster jet on all my aches and pains-that's just about everywhere.
Slept good last night,
Anyone have any good ideas about a recliner-mine is way too soft. Mima

Sorry I've been out of the loop! We went away and things have just been crazy. I've had a 24 hr. flu bug, and I'm up for a while before heading back to bed.

Mima and Joanne, we won't be in Tampa till the end of Feb. In fact, after looking at the calendar, I don't think we'll be there until March 1.

i have a few gifts bought, but nothing is wrapped yet. That's what I planned to do today, but I can't sit/stand up long enough to do much. Maybe tomorrow.

Eliza, that 0 point soup is a good one!! I've been on WW in the past, and I've had luck and then no luck with it.

Anne, I hope you are feeling better soon!!! I like those cookie exchanges. Lots of variety!!

Meme, glad you got the decorating done with the help of your daughter!! It sure makes a difference to have help, doesn't it, except for spending more money!!!!! I agree about the flexeril and a quilt sounding good!!!

I wish I had a jacuzzi. It would feel great right now!!!

Good morning-sorry you don't feel well , Tammy.. I had a dream that I had some kind of a bug, My stomache hasn't been right-IBS symptoms-gotta be good.
We are ready for Evan-Brad found a set of drawers with some knd of box in it at the dump and Evan had his eye on it-he said we could share. Well. it is now filled with his toys.
After Christmas, we are going to get rid of the extra lr set we bought-I never liked it-pastel- but we pd 500 used. I will try to sell it on Craig's list first-then donate it. Brad likes the lounge chair we have so I will just get a new one. Evidently that room used to be a porch and they closed it in-there are 2 huge doorways where sliders used to be -would really like to close one of so we could use it for storage etc.
Guess we will go to tthe flea market today and get veggies. Brad will help at the Handyman's workday tomorrow.
Bye for now, Mima

Mima, I have felt better as today as progressed. I even took a shower and went away for a little while. 2 friends were having open houses for their businesses, and I hated to miss those. Good thing I didn't have to take my bucket with me!! TMI?

What a good deal to keep the toys in! Good luck selling the lr set.

We have a bit of snow here now - maybe 8 inches over the past couple of days. It's supposed to be warmer and rainy over the weekend, so it will get slushy.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Snow!!! It is sure not here-80's. Brad is going to work with men at church today. I will be ALONE!!!
Went to Flea Market-they have discounted Avon-got some things for Al-she
has such acne.
Evan was good all day-then acted up with his parents-isn't that the way.We went to DQ last night-I didn't have ice cream because I am having a reaction to dairy.
Finally got my meds that went from FL to MA and back!!
Have a great fibro free day-guess there is no such thing,
But have a good one anyways. Mima

12-08-2007, 09:36 PM
I wish is was in the 80s here! We're having our second ice storm of the season...boooo...!

Anne-it is the diet by Jorge Cruise. I've been on it for 2 1/2 weeks and I've lost 8 pounds. I was originally wrong about the calories though. I have 400 for breakfast, lunch and dinner and 100 for morning and afternoon snack. Love it...I'm never hungry!

Has anyone tried acupuncture (probably spelled wrong) for their fibro? I've really been suffering with these fronts moving in.

Ok...enough whining! Is anyone done with their holiday shopping? We trying to get it done between snow and ice storms...Yuck!

Tammy
12-08-2007, 10:16 PM
Mima, one of the open houses I went to was for Avon. I bought quite a few little gifts to have on hand. It's hard to pass on ice cream at DQ. Do other DQ's have frozen yogurt still? Some of them used to have it around here, but I really haven't seen it for a while.

Eliza, I was looking at the book for that diet at KMart the other day. Didn't buy it though. Wanted to check the price at Amazon first. THought about asking for it for Christmas. I have some friends who have tried acupuncture for a variety of things, and they all say it's great. I haven't tried it. I'm a chicken!!

I am honestly not sure if I'm finished shopping yet or not. lol I have several things for hubby. For our son, he's buying some insulated overalls for walking back and forth to classes, so that's a gift from us. I do have him a movie and a book. Hubby and I are talking about getting him a small microwave for his dorm room.

He has been working night desk at the dorm since last year about this time. He goes for an interview on Monday to be a Resident Assistant (RA) for 2nd semester. If he gets it, he doesn't have to pay room and board!!! He'll have a single room also. He had already thought about doing it next year, and then he found out about a couple openings in his dorm for the 2nd semester. Sure hope he gets it!!!

We went shopping today. It was nice. Busy at the mall, but not so bad you couldn't get around.

It is a bit warmer today, and it is starting to rain. The snow will get slushy and slick.

Mima

Good morning-Suzanne was an RA her senoir year-saved me 7,000 a year and I was retired. She got caught up in problems the girls had but I am sure it would be easier with boys. I hope he gets it.
I swam, went in the hot tub, and walked and my back hurts. I really should get an xray.
Just put the air on-haha!!! Too hot-too cold-We are never happy about the weather no matter where we are.
Early service today-it's tpp laye to get home when we go at 11 because we go out to eat.
Something is wrong with my laptop=I can't get it on in the morning-It says there is a serious error. I wonder if Norton is scanning automatically?

Thanks! Tim said he knows quite a few of the guys who live on the 2 floors that will have vacancies because he has worked the desk. Alot of football players so he also knows them from being in the band.

Hope your back is feeling better. Mine hurts from being sick on Thursday. I looked outside, and it doesn't look like we got the freezing rain that they had predicted. I'm glad so I can go to early church.

computers can be a hastle, but they are also pretty nice!!

Tammy, my son was in the band all through high school and a little at the beginning of college. He plays snare drum...what does your son play?

I'm with you both on the sore back...mines been killing me with this cold, damp weather. I love my hot baths and warm packs :0)

Tammy
12-09-2007, 09:40 PM
Eliza, my son is also a drummer! This year he is equipment manager because they cut back from 45 to 30 in the drumline. He isn't a music major, so he knew he'd be cut. He's loving what he's doing though. He gets to drive the equipment truck to Toronto the beginning of January. He goes to Ball State in Muncie, IN, and the football team is playing in the International Bowl there. He'll have someone else with him to help drive. The band directors have asked him to do the same position next year. He gets 2 hours credit for it, so what the heck!!

I had a nice hot shower earlier, and it felt great!!

I ended up not going to church this morning. When I was getting ready, it started to rain, freezing rain. Things became slick rather quickly. I'm just glad it happened before I left the house.

Mima

Good morning-it's freezing rain back home-again!!!
That's awesome for Tim. My computer is ok now-I think I actually did something to fix it.
Out to eat after church-salmon. But I ate bread and dessert. Naughty Mima.
I have suffered with this hip-back thing for 2 years. I think i will see an orthopedic guy down here-I guess I can choose my own since I am out of plan.
I nedd to finish my shopping and mail some things. I saw a beautiful necklace for Suzanne on Overstock.com-what a great site if you never have been there-no tax and free shipping.
Up early again. Bye for now Mima

Tammy
12-10-2007, 04:12 PM
Good for you for fixing the computer!! I like salmon, but we rarely have it. I also like bread and dessert!!!

I need to check out that site!!

I volunteered at the radio station this morning from 6-10 answering phones. When I left they were working on the 3rd of 12 families to provide for for Christmas. It was really awesome the way people were stepping up to help out. I get to go shopping now because I commited to buying a couple things. I thought I'd do the same thing tomorrow and Wed. when I'm working there.

Hope everyone is doing ok!!

Doing fine here..I have half of my shopping done.. No cards out yet..
We are fencing in a portion of the back yard so I can put Christie out there to play and give me a break now and then during the day..We have to keep a eye on her all the time or she is into something. This way I can do some things I need to do without the upset of her under my feet or whatever.Babysitting a puppy 24-7 is no fun. They tell me she will be a puppy another year..
It is in the 80's here.. Supposed to be the same tomorrow.. We may get into the 60's by the weekend.. What we really need is rain..
Hello everybody... Joanne

Mima

We do need the rain! I am almost done with my shopping. Got to get some Visa cards. And send oranges . I only cut down a little on the shopping-added some people and next year there will be another grandchild.
I paid bigtime for that dessert and bread-horrible stomache ache yesterday.
I made an appt with an orthopedic type doc and they will take xrays first. I tried to get an appt near here but that doc only did hips and knees-not backs-too funny. There were about 8 docs in this office-each specializing in something. At least my insurance will cover xrays. I pay 20% of the doc.
I guess I will do my cards while Evan is here.
What a great idea to fence in the yard, Joanne.

Good morning.

Mima - hope you feel better. Food is something we just eat, not thinking of the damage it can do. Good luck with the Dr.

Tammy - Hope Tim gets the job. That sounds like such a money saver. College and University are soooooo expensive now. If they need student loans, it will take a long while to pay back.

Eliza - How is the diet going? I will start on this one soon as well. Just have a problem with eating every 3 hours when I'm working. My breaks just don't fit.

Joanne - good on getting a little area fenced off for puppy. That should help you out a LOT. It is hard raising a puppy.

Meme- Hi there. Hope you are having some better days my friend.

This past month has been the worst month for me. First the sinus infection, then the stomach flu, ending in the hospital, and now my back is giving me MAJOR grief. I have been to the chiro 3 times and it still HURTS!! I am going to go again today. Eventually, it will move back to where it belongs, but gee. I am having to work 3 full days this week as well. Yesterday didn't go badly, as I had used Dr. Ho on it (like a TENS machine) and it did help, but I think I probably did more harm by working the full day. Oh well, it is what it is!

Shopping is coming along nicely. Just about done. Even got the wrapping paper, so maybe this afternoon that job will be finished(if I can get some relief from this pain in the back).

Won't do any baking until next week and then I will be ready. Have to make a Cherry Cheesecake today, for a potluck at work tomorrow. That is easy enough to do and doesn't take long at all.

Hope you are all having a great day.

Glad to know there are others that don't have their cards out yet. I was stressing over that. Was going to do them tonight but not feeling the best in the world. It's supposed to rain here for 3 days ... Eliza, wet weather hurts me, too. Supposed to be 75 tomorrow and break a record. That's warm for TN in Dec. Too warm & doesn't seem like Christmas ... I'm from MI and I miss my snow so I'm not much in the mood for shopping. Hubby and I went today and "looked" for him. I called son tonight and arranged to meet him at Tractor Supply tomorrow afternoon so he could get one of the things he picked out and take it to his house. It's a large cart for him to use outside and I can't manage it. We went to Lowe's and got his mom and dad a ceiling fan and light for their kitchen. Got three of the g-kids finished ... online. Best way to shop. Got some stuff at overstock.com and some at gamestop.com. Girls are into the American Girl Doll stuff so I did quite a bit of shopping on their site. I still need to get hubby a navy sports jacket. I may try to get that tomorrow, too. We usually give the big kids money. They've gotten to hard to buy for because they already have everything. I asked for an ipod ... hope Santa remembers! (He may think I've been too naughty!) :p I put ipod or Nintendo DS Lite with games like Brain Age and Flash Focus on my list. One of my friends said that to her Christmas was about giving and she just enjoyed giving gifts to others (how sweet & unselfish). I said ... that's PART of it for me, too, the biggest part is the kids ... but I also like receiving gifts! Especially the big one from hubby!!! ;) Guess I'm still just a kid at heart when it comes to Christmas, huh? :D

The job sounds like a good deal for Tim. Sounds like he's doing good in school. You must be very proud of him. That radio job sounds interesting.

Anne, sounds like you've been having a rough time. Back pain is the worst. Hopefully things will get better for you. I've got to get started on my baking, too. My throat feels like it is trying to get sore. Hope I'm not getting something else. This is NOT a good time to come down with the crud!

Mima ... I'm paying for what I've been eating, too, but in a different way. I've gained about 6 pounds just lately. And Christmas is a coming. Gotta get it back off.

Joanne, I need a break from my puppy sometimes, too. They can really wear you down. I put potpourri in a brass Christmas sleigh with attached reindeer on one of my tables ... I decorate with it every year. I've been picking that stuff up out of the floor for days. Can't leave a pen on the table, can't leave the top off the candy dish FOR SURE! I will be watching a TV show and lay the remote on the couch. Right in the middle of the good part, she jumps up on the couch and changes the channel or turns up the sound so loud it scares you to death. One night she hit a button on the cable remote and screwed something up so bad the whole screen went black and it took me 5 minutes to figure out what she had done. She gets in the trash, the electrical cords, the curtains, on the beds, in the window seat, tears up the rugs and even drags my underwear out in the middle of the livingroom floor if I don't watch her. But ... alas ... she has stolen my heart and I love her still.

Puppies-good thing they are cute. My stomache is better-I ate rice and a little ham last night, applesauce.
We are going to a Christmas party at church and it was suggested we wear old-fashioned clothes-got a skirt and frilly blouse at a goodwill type store for $3. And the skirt label was Vera Bradley-.99. I would like a vest now. And Brad needs something. FL has so many good stores like that-They are opening another Goodwill near here.
Evan was good yesterday but Jill comes late.I like to sleep around noon. Since I get up at 4.
Finally Brad talked to tenant-if he would only call and tell us. He's putting the extra money in the bank today.
Art today.
Boy, Anne you sure are having a hard time. Hope it's over soon. I will be glad to have an xray to find out if there is anything wrong,
Hey Meme-I also like to get a nice present-this year I am getting a new chair.
Bye for now. mima

Joanne, I haven't done any cards yet either. I told Bob that I thought that since I'm retired, I'd be more on the ball this year. Hasn't happened!! Great idea about the fence! That will help out alot!!

Mima, did Evan help with the cards????

Anne, when hubby's aunt passed away, she left some money so we wouldn't have to worry about Tim's college. She didn't want him to have to worry about student loans because she knew what a hastle that could be. That money went into Tim's savings account, and we've taken from there when things are due. With him working in the dorm last year and this year, and now hopefully with the RA position, he'll have money left in the savings account when he is ready to move out on his own when he graduates.

I hope that things start looking up for you with the back pain!! You need relief after everything the past several weeks. Please send me a piece of that cheesecake!!

Meme, I'm the same about the cards. I keep thinking about getting them done, and then I don't do them. I guess they'll get done eventually. I didn't know you were from Michigan, did I? I like it up there. LOL I think I'm a kid at heart too!! It's nice to give, but receiving feels good also.

We are definitely proud of Tim. He has never caused us any trouble, well just minor things over the years, but I guess that happens with all kids sometime or other. I told Bob last night that I think I have gained 82 pounds in the past month. Have no idea why I picked that number, but it tickled him. He got quite a chuckle.

I can relate about the pets! Kramer drives me nuts sometimes, but I love him to pieces. He'll be 14 next month, and I know that he won't be around too much longer. We won't be getting another one after him.

As for presents this year, we went to Wal Mart the other night and bought new silverware! Now isn't that romantic??? lol We have a combined set that we've been using since we've been married. I had a set from when I moved out on my own in 1977, and Bob had a set from about the same time. It's looking its age, so he said let's just buy new for Christmas. We didn't even wrap it, but it's under the tree.

Need to get dressed to head to the radio station. Last night they were on the 11th of the 12 families. I'm supposed to be there from 6-10 this morning, but I'm sure they'll finish the 12th family early. It has been so awesome!! It's been fun talking to the people calling in who are donating things to the families. It all has to be new, nothing used. I went shopping yesterday to buy the things that I commited to. For the one mother, I bought a little extra gift for her because I'd like one. It was a bath set with shower gel, lotion, and that type of stuff. I thought she could pamper herself some day with all that the family is going through right now. Wish I could do so much more for all of them.

Tim just called. He got the job!!! There were 3 openings in 3 different dorms, and all 3 of them wanted him!! I told him it's because his mother is such an awesome person!! lol He gets to stay in the same dorm he lived last year and this year. He'll move from 4th floor to 2nd floor. He is one excited kid!!!

Went for my mammogram this afternoon. That's done for another year. Now I need to make a dentist appointment.

Tammy- Good for Tim and your pocketbook.. I bought my cards. Now I have to take them out of the sack and write them
We put Christie out in her fenced in area a couple times today.. I hope she will do more than stand at the gate and look for us.. She would not go potty until I put her leash on.. That will be another thing to tackle. She has never gone without the leash. The hubby was a basket case. He was afraid she was going to eat something like a leaf ot stick..I told him not to let the neighbors hear him..
Meme- There is nothing christie will miss.. Nothing is safe.. It will be a challenge Christmas with the presants.. We won't put them out till the morning of. We will have to keep her out of the way while we open them..

Great that Tim will be an RA, What a blessing that radio staion is!!!
I use my best silverware all the time -stainlesss- and one set of dishes for all the time-no room for any more at home.
Got most of my cards done-mailed a fruit basket to Uncle Paul-npw I need some addresses.
Got a call from Josh-heat was out-he said it was out for 3 days???? He called the oil company for more oil-they couldn't start it. He should have called us right away-the oil co. said we needed something that cost 300. Brad said no way and called our burner man who went over and said it was on. And charged us $70. Now Brad wants to talk with that oil co. and also put the light in the window for when the burner goes out. You can't leave it for 3 days-the pipes will freeze.
We watched Amazing Grace last night-really good.
Everyone feel good-going to orthopedic doc for 9. Mima
