I've been seeing advertisements for a new weightloss medication called Alli. I'm not usually one to seek out external weightloss support as I believe in losing weight naturally (not drug induced or through surgery but through diet and exercise) but I'm at a point with my body that I am beginning to consider alternative means.

If you've tried or are taking Alli, what has been your experience with it?
Pros? Cons?

Hi. Here's a link to a quite informative Sticky found over in the "Does it Work" Forum. Take a look:

I heard that ALLI gives you anal leakage if you eat too many fats

When I was taking alli, the most problems I had was gas and some rare running to the bathroom. I took it consistently my first month which led to an 18 month loss. I personally loved using it to help control myself from eating too many fats. Even this past few days, I've been cheating with alli, I haven't had that bad of treatment affects. I say if you're gonna want to take some over the counter weight loss product, go with a safe FDA approved one like Alli not things like trimspa. I also promised myself I wouldn't get into unhealthy habits like my mom(trimspa and otherwise). I may sometimes take Alli but I know it's safe. At first, I was really afraid to skip a dose of alli because I was afraid of not loosing weight without it. I've not taken alli for a month regularly and I know that I can do it with or without it.

Sometimes I've gotten backlash for using it but I do realize it is a tool not a cure. I just hold my head up high and keep going

I would definitely recommend reading the Does it work sticky.

One thing to note is that Alli absorbs very little fat (it varies but somewhere around 100 calories per day) but if you want to follow a low fat diet, it aids you in that direction because well otherwise you will experience what some call "treatment effects". One of the loopholes is that it makes you follow a low fat diet but it doesn't make you follow a low calorie diet. You have to be disciplined enough not to compensate your calories elsewhere such as sugar.
