Food Talk And Fabulous Finds - Starbucks Sugar Free Gingerbread Lattes!

As of yesterday, Starbucks has added sugar-free gingerbread lattes to their SF lineup. Last year they were only available in the sugared version, so hurray! We SF latte folks must be making our voices heard. :woohoo:

I couldn't find nutritional info on the Starbucks web site, but assume they would be equivalent to the other SF lattes at 90 calories for a tall and 130 for a grande. Be sure to order it with skim milk and no whipped cream!

YAY! It will be a nice change from my sugar free cinnamon dolci fix. I wish Starbucks would carry sugar free raspberry - those are great at Seattle's Best and Tully's!

Yum! Gingerbread lattes are my favorite--I look forward to them all year! I'm so happy to see Starbucks offering more sugar-free varieties.

Anyone know what the syrups are sweetened with? The last time I went to a starbucks they couldn't tell me - irritating.

I'm surprised the ingredients aren't on the bottle! Call Starbucks customer service at 800-235-2883 -- they're usually very helpful. :)

Is this a cold drink? Or can you get it hot?

What all does Starbucks have in the sugar free flavors? I thought they only had vanilla? Thanks!

:welcome3: to 3FC, Kathleen!

My Starbucks has sugar free vanilla, hazelnut, cinnamon dolce, and now gingerbread syrups. Like Glory, I'd love to get raspberry also. :)

Boy, I'm not a coffee drinker at all, but this stuff sounds real good. Are they available in caffine free? Although I usually have a firm no calories spent on drinking rule.......

I also just wanted to pop in here and give a big, hearty welcome to Kathleen. We are THRILLED to have you here and I really look forward to hearing lots more from you. I'm so glad you've decided to make yourself known and participate. :)

LOL, I think this is why in my book, these drinks don't count as coffee. :) You can't actually taste the coffee. But, to each her own. If I want a coffee treat, I'll usually get an espresso or americano instead of drip coffee....Really exciting, but I prefer to drink my calories in red wine! I will, very, very occasionally (like twice a year), get an iced mocha at Starbucks. By the time they put in my extra shot and all that ice, there's room for less than a 1/2 cup of skim milk in there, so I figure it's not too bad.

Welcome Kathleen!

Yay!

I've gotta get one. Only problem is we don't have a Starbucks in our area, it's clear up on the north end of town :(

Hey Meg, according to the Starbucks website, they have sugar-free caramel too! I tried the sugar-free gingerbread today, it was pretty good, but I think the cinnamon one is still my favorite.

Wow, I wonder if SF caramel has made it to Pittsburgh yet? (we're usually behind the times  ) Cinnamon dolce is my current addiction too, but will try SF gingerbread in the next few days.

I haven't checked the website, but last year they had an eggnog latte that was addictive. I think the flavoring was a syrup, not actual eggnog.

When I was talking with my Starbucks folks about the new SF gingerbread latters, I happened to ask about the eggnog ones. They said that they used real eggnog in the carton for those and pulled out the carton of eggnog to show me. We all read the nutrition label and it was the real, full sugar, full fat stuff that is a black hole of calories -- something like 340 calories in a cup. :yikes: Eggnog lattes aren't listed on the Starbucks website yet, but the calories would have to be through the roof! Guess I'll be skipping those this year.

Mmmm like a breve - an espresso made with half n half. (I used to love those!)

I spent one summer working at a coffee place on the upper east side. There was a woman who came in every day for a cappuccino breve. Those things are divine! She wasn't the slightest bit overweight, despite the breve habit. I doubt I'd be so lucky. :)
