..To the November exercise thread! We're trying to make exercise a habit, give ourselves some accountability, and get healthier in the process!

In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month
-- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

And you want to jump in, because one of the main reasons to be here is to track how many minutes we exercise as a group! In 2006 we came close to 200,000 minutes. I'd love to see us surpass that goal this year. Here's where we stand!

Finally, if you're new to this, pay attention to how to add your minutes to the group... people get confused if they can't easily see our new total. I recommend showing the previous total, then your minutes, then the new total (which should be the sum of the other 2 numbers). For example, if the group had done 500 minutes already and you did 30, here's what you would do:

Group total ~ 500 + 30 = 530 minutes

Okay, I'll start. I'm going to stick with 1000 minutes again for November. It seems to work out well for busy months. I end up working out generally 5 days a week and include a mix of cardio, weights, and yoga.

Plus, I don't have time to think about any other options!!! :D

Hi All! :wave: Newbie Here!

Ok, I'm going to jump right on in :trampo:!

I will start off with committing to 400 minutes for the month of November.

20 minutes 5x's a week is a good start for me and this thread should help give me the accountability and consistency I've been needing with exercise!

Thanks for the intro Heather! I hope to be able to catch on and keep up soon enough!

Yesterday I did 30 minutes on the elliptical - HIIT at level 6.

I'd like to try something. We need to get to 13,968 min to reach our yearly goal of 200,000 minutes!

How about we count DOWN until we get there...

So, right now we're at:

13,968 - 3450 = 10,518 min to go.

Next person, subtract your minutes from 10,518

And, if it doesn't work and is too confusing... we'll switch back!

In about 2 and 1/2 weeks, 555 minutes, all walking, some with ankle weights, some on the beach.

It's Saturday here, and the first official day of Summer for us... although it is a very dreary, damp first day of summer. So, I'm posting my November minutes. I managed to *just* go over my goal minutes.

Personal Goal... 1230/1200, putting me 30 mins over my goal
