Hello All

I just purchased the book and am only on page 40. My name is ...and I'm overweight!! Actually if I go by my BMI guess I'm considered morbidly obese. uggghhhh It seems like everyone here is very supportive and I definitely need that right now. I've tried every diet known to man, after seeing Dr. Oz on Oprah I decided to purchase yet another diet book. I'm hoping that this is FINALLY the plan that I can live with and stick to!!! I am a 30 year old single mother of one daughter. We plan to move to Las Vegas in July of 2008. I REALLY want to lose at least 50 lbs by then. Although I need to lose much more then that, I feel that 50 will make me feel so much better about myself. Hey 50 will still incite the happy dance :carrot: at this point 20 will get the :carrot:!!! I'm hoping to at least lose 5lbs per month. I feel like that's a very reasonable amount to shoot for.
Alrighty then... just wanted to tell everyone a little about me. When I finish reading the book I will be more active.

:welcome3: FISAO.....I had a nice long post and I lost it. Here is the short version.....When you move to Las Vegas, I have a 'sister' who lives there and she is doing YOAD....well, she actually lives in Henderson which is about 15 to 20 mins from the strip. There were several of us that met in Vegas the first of October and we had a wonderful time there. If you would like to meet her just let me know.

As far as your goals, they are obtainable.....just remember you have to move....walk 30 mins each and every day without fail. I am like you where I have bought every book I thought would give me the magic to lose weight. I have even bought books after I bought YOAD but the only one that has worked is YOAD. I know, your going to look at my ticker and say :joker: this gal doesn't know what she is talking about but I turned 50 this year, I fell in July and was in a cast for 14 weeks and I have made way too many YOU turns. There is a gal on another thread Real Age and she is in her late 30's and has lost 125 pounds in 9 months.....so I know it can be done.

She posts on 100 + Pounds Support and under that "OOPS! I did it again" and "looking for a serious buddy". Her screen name is mylifeagain. She was over 300 lbs and is now 181 lbs. totally amazing!!!!!

Welcome FISAO, we are glad to have you join us!

I think you will like YOAD - once you get the hang of it, it's really easy to do and the results do come. There are a couple gals here at 3FC who have lost 80 or so this year on this plan! Not me, but I"ve had a wedding in the midst of all this that really got me off track. Now I'm back and working to get back in the swing of things.

Let us know if you have questions, and be sure to join us on the monthly thread. There are some good stickys at the top of the forum that will be helpful for you as well.

Here is what it said:
Her name is Susan Bobby and I talked with her last evening. Here is her email addy suebbby@yahoo.com
She asked that you put YOAD in the subject line since she won't recognize your email or name. She grew up in Ohio....not sure of the town or city name though. If you want to let me know your email address.....I can start the ball rolling.

As for breads you can eat, look for those that say "natural whole wheat" - they tend to have less sugar and/or HFCS in them. In my area (Northeast), I am able to find Pepperidge Farms breads and Arnolds breads that fit the bill.

The guideline for sugars is less than 4 grams of sugar per serving as listed in the nutritional label. That and high fructose corn syrup should not be amoung the first five ingredients.

As far a salad dressings go, you will probably have to use something listed as being "low carb" and/or "organic" to find one that meets this criteria.

Thank you for all your postings. I've been feeling like a failure, going on diets and lasting often less than half the day. You give me hope that I can change this.
