Introductions - Phentermine & Atkins

I'm new to the forum and am glad to be a part of it. :) I'm trying to lose weight with atkins. One week into it I lost 5 pounds then nothing, its been 2 and half weeks so far. Everyone says the inches will come off faster than the weight, so I started exercising this week to really make that happen.

I just started taking phentermine today and I got a prescription from my doctor. I took it about 4 years ago and lost 50 lbs with it on a low fat diet.

So I would like to know, how many of you combined phentermine at atkins and were successful. I would love to know your results. How much you lost and how long it took you with phentermine and atkins together. Thanks.

Hi latina, Welcome! There is an atkins and other low carb forum here you should check out. I don't know if anyone there is taking phentermine but it might be helpfull to talk to some people over there. I am doing atkins also, and it works for me without the phentermine.

I went on Phentermine twice. Once, I lost about 30 pounds with a LF diet. The second time, I had already lost 90 pounds with an Atkins-like plan, and just wanted to lose those last ten pounds, which I did. The bad news was that in both cases, the phentermine primed my brain for carb cravings, and I ended up falling back into carbs and gaining more than I had lost the first time (thus needing to lose 90 pounds), and all but 20 the second time. I'm still trying to lose those 70 pounds. So be careful.

I'm on Phentermine right now, but since I work out and count calories anyway, my doctor just gave me a month's prescription just to kick start my weight loss. I really need to focus on eating more healthy things, and thankfully, Phentermine completely curbed my fast food cravings.
