WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Weigh-Ins for October

View Full Version : Thursday Weigh-Ins for October

10-01-2007, 11:15 PM
Here we go with another month.
I'm really excited. I want to lose 4 pounds this month.
How many pounds does everyone want to lose in October?

Good luck on Thursday!!!

10-01-2007, 11:47 PM
It's hard to believe that it is October! My goal is to lose 5 pounds this month. I think it's a good idea to make a goal. Great idea Tina!!!!

10-02-2007, 06:29 AM
Goals are good!

After I lose my pre-period gain of a couple of pounds, I'd like to lose 3. I'm into this slow loss thing again. I think maybe I should just quit eating for a week and see what happens.

Insurance news! Bob talked to the case management lady at the insurance company. She said that since the doctor and hospital are in our network, WE will not be responsible for the payments. The doctor and hospital will just have to eat the costs or whatever. We were so relieved!!!!!!!!!!!

Doctor's appt for Bob this morning. Hoping he gets to wean down on some of the meds and the oxygen. PT evaluation this afternoon. He'll be totally worn out from doing both of those.

Kramer had me up at 4:15! Of course, I couldn't get back to sleep, so here I am. Needed to catch up on some messages and emails, so I have that done now.

Have an OP day ladies!!

Great Idea with the goal. I would like to lose 6lbs this month. This would bring me sooooo close to the 130's. I'm going to push myself this month, since I know it will be more difficult in November (thanksgiving) and December (Christmas).

Good luck to every one!!!

10-02-2007, 03:50 PM
Wow, sounds like we have a good challenge going. :):):)

10-04-2007, 05:39 AM
Not weighing today. TOM so I don't want to see it!

10-04-2007, 10:49 AM
:D I'm weighing tomorrow. I ate Chinese last night. :o

10-05-2007, 01:16 AM
It was weigh in #7 for me today...and *sigh* I had my first gain. I gained 1.2 lbs. Although, I did stay within my points this week, there are some factors to consider:
-drank more beer
-ate more TV dinners (loads of salt)
-sat on my butt for almost 2 days
-munched on cheese and crackers instead of veggies

I kinda was expecting the gain...but I still, deep down, thought MAYBE I'll be shocked with a loss.

I'm not going to quit though. My pants still feel loose no matter what the scale says. I HATE having to lose this weight AGAIN though.

Its so frusterating though! Compaired to how I used to eat (8 weeks ago) this week was fabulous! But, for some reason, I gain.

Alright, I'm done nagging about it, time to move on.

Good luck to everyone else this week! :)

Hi all,

Trish, I'm sorry about that gain. Yep, beer and salt can do it to you.:(
I love your attitude. You can do this!!!!! I have faith in you!!!!!
Next weigh-in will be better.

:woohoo: I am a very happy person today.
I'm back down to my tracker weight. Next week, my fish will be swimming!!!!!

Terry and the other Trish, we haven't heard from you in awhile.
How did everyone else do?

10-05-2007, 04:02 PM
Trish, sorry about the gain. Next week!!

Congrats to Tina!! Woo hoo!!

10-05-2007, 04:50 PM
Thanks for the support Tammy and Tina!

Tina--congrats, that is excellent! Next weeks loss will be NEW loss, yeah!! (I'm like you, I didn't adjust my ticker on my gain either, lol)

10-07-2007, 12:37 AM
I don't know about ya'll, but I'm getting really excited about our October Challenge.

We can do this!!!!!

10-07-2007, 10:46 AM

I didn't lose any this week. It might have been the little snickers that my friend brought to work. :) Plan on having a good loss this week.

It's been a LONG week. Thursday, I decided that I would have a little party at school for my kids. So the day would be happy in some way. It's hard to believe that it's been 3 years. Normally I'm on Fall break and pamper myself some but it didn't work out this year since we have no break. The kids didn't know why we were having a party but I did that's all that matters.

Nothing exciting here.... Oh, Pat came home the other day with a card from a personal trainer. Someone that knows him and he knows she is really good. She has worked with Pat's best friend and really helped her get in better shape and lose some weight. He said "if you want to call her that is ok with me, doesn't matter how much it cost."

So I did, I met with her on Thursday. She said "I don't think you remember but we've met before.... at the funeral" I told her that was Seamus' 3 year anniversary date and teared up. She went on to tell me how she had lost a baby too 20 years ago. Her son was born at 30 weeks and lived 2 weeks. We talked about how your life changes... It was strange because it made me feel so much better.

To make a long story short, I'm going to work out with her twice a week for a while. It's at a very small gym just for women and it's close to school. I might join that gym. I'm getting to go on a week pass and Friday I was the only person in there. It was nice. I'll keep you posted.

Tina, yea on moving your tracker.

Trish, If I drink beer, I seem to retain water. So drink LOTS of water this week. Don't beat yourself up over it. It'll all come off next week.

Tammy, I feel like it's almost TOM too. I'm sure any day. Glad Bob is doing so much better!!!

10-08-2007, 06:43 AM
I still haven't lost the pounds that I gained for TOM! I am so bummed about it! I've been trying to feed Bob because he needs to gain some weight, but I need to stop eating every time he does!!!!!!!

Susan, little snickers are good. lol
3 years is hard to believe. I think the party idea at school was a good one. Keep us posted on the new trainer. It sounds like it was meant to be, doesn't it?

10-08-2007, 07:14 AM

Okay, I'm keeping my fingers and toes all crossed that we will do well tomorrow!!!

10-10-2007, 06:57 PM
As of this morning, my butterfly on my tracker is correct. Finally got rid of the TOM pounds. Now I just need it to move the right direction again!!!

10-11-2007, 05:51 AM
IT DID!!! My butterfly moved 2 pounds! I am excited. I think being back to water aerobics helped me this week.

Good luck to all!!!!

10-11-2007, 12:31 PM
Bravo, Tammy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-11-2007, 01:41 PM
Congrats Tammy, that's fantastic!! Those water exercises can be brutal, so I'm sure they helped you out! I was watching the Biggest Loser this week, and I was in pain watching some of them in the pool...not a piece of cake, that's for sure. :)

Welcome new members! Congrats on your losses ZoeJayne and Elaine!

I weighed in with a 3.6lb loss this morning!! (I'm crediting Tina's toes that were crossed, lol ;) )But, that's not all from this week. I did have a gain last week, so I'm assuming I just hit a bad day to weigh in. (you were right Auntie, thanks!) If I averaged it out, its actually like a 1 lb loss last week, and a 1 lb loss this week. I'll take it though! I have .5 of a lb before hitting my first major goal of 14 lbs! I also have 5lbs more to go before I can cut/color my hair....I NEED this, so I'm pushing on, lol.

Overall, I'm very pleased with myself. I was very depressed over my gain, and I still pushed on. I had the help of some good friends, and motivation from you guys and the board, and its been worth it. Now that I've made it through my first hurdle, I'm confident I can do it again...because I know there will be many more!

10-12-2007, 05:10 PM
getupandgo, the classes that I take aren't really that brutal. It is mainly older women and a few of us (I'm not counting myself as older) with health issues. We can make it as tough as we want to. The instructor is great.

Good for you on that loss!!!!

10-16-2007, 06:15 PM

It really helps to have a great instructor! I'm too chicken to join any classes at this time, but when I do, I hope that mine is motivating. :)

10-16-2007, 06:57 PM
well ive lost 3 more lbs since i last posted in here so im down to 220 now yay :D

10-16-2007, 09:35 PM
getupandgo, come on down here and join my classes!!

Zoejayne, congrats on the loss!!!!

10-18-2007, 12:12 AM
What great losses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-18-2007, 06:05 PM
No loss here this week.
Good luck to everyone else!!

10-19-2007, 12:57 AM
ZoeJayne-Congrats on your loss! That is fantastic :)

Tammy-I'd love to join your classes...I'll just getupandgo do that! (Not funny? Yeah, I figured that was a stretch, hehehe) :D And no loss is no gain, so congratulations on that as well!

I on the other hand gained again this week. Just a lb and I'm much less concerned about it as opposed to my first gain a couple weeks back. It could be TOM or the beer, or the yummy banana bread I made, lol. Either way, I made my Halloween goal and I'm looking forward to making a Thanksgiving goal as well!

Hope everyone has a great weekend...its my birthday on Sunday and I'm getting crab for dinner. Good right? Oh...no!! I'm getting butter too :D There go my flex points, lol :)

10-19-2007, 09:25 AM
We'll all try to have some losses next week! Of course, after a weekend away, I might be hoping for too much!!

10-19-2007, 10:53 AM
I am not telling what the scales said yesterday. :o Too much vacation!!!

Trish, great job on making your goal.:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Tammy, we'll have to have a loss next week or we won't make the Oct. goals.

Elaine and the other Trish----how was weigh-in?
Terry, you have been very quiet.

10-22-2007, 10:42 PM
Crap. My goal was to get rid of the TOM addition, and then to lose 3 more. I've only lost 2 more! I need to lose 1 more to make my October goal. It should be so easy to do, but not when I'm eating out of control. The past few days haven't been good emotionally, and I eat.

10-22-2007, 10:43 PM
Trish, Happy Birthday to you!!!!! I hope you have a fabulous time. Did you have a big birthday cake? Did you eat some for all of us?

I'm not sure if I'll make my October goal. :( My getaway kinda ruined that.

Hope everyone is doing great!

10-24-2007, 10:18 PM
Let's make our last October weigh in on November 1!!! That gives us an extra week. PLEASE????

10-24-2007, 11:34 PM
An extra week sounds good to me.
Trish, Trish, JoeJayne, Elaine, Terry, Susan, everyone else----what do y'all think?????

10-25-2007, 03:29 PM
I was the same this morning. Bob is up another 2 pounds. I really need to quit eating when he does!! lol

10-30-2007, 04:31 PM
Suzanne is streamlining and is doing away with WW Weigh-Ins and Countdowns.
So, beginning this Thursday, we'll be over in the WW Clubs and Groups.

I'm sorry if anyone gets confused. Just come find us. We are still together.

10-31-2007, 04:57 PM
I hope everyone has a great weigh-in tomorrow.
We will be moving to WW Clubs and Groups.

10-31-2007, 11:07 PM
I sure hope that I lose again soon. I don't think it will be tomorrow! I am feeling crampy, and of course, it's getting to that time again. Wish I didn't have that anymore!!
