Question The "calories burned" display on the treadmill???

Mine has both the regular calories burned and then Fat Calories. I do 4 miles on the treadmill, Run/Walk and burn 509 calories for 55 minutes.

My question is, do I need to even factor the Fat Calories burned number??? OR just keep to the reg. calories burned???

Just ignore the fat calories. They don't tell you anything helpful.

Btw, be wary of the calories any machine tells you you're burning. They're usually way off. Unless you can enter your age, height, weight and gender, they're DEFINITELY not to be taken seriously, and even then there's a tendency for the machines to over-estimate the number of calories you burn, from fat or otherwise. (If I use the elliptical at my gym, even after I enter my weight it will tell me that I've burned 200 or 300 calories more than what my HRM reports. It's very dodgy.)

Sorry to say calorie counts are way off on machines. Apparenlty machines that say you burn more calories actually sell more.
