GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my morning post sometime later, it's bound to be a biggie!!! Just wanted to make sure I got our MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM:
There's a simple thing you can do that will dramatically improve the results of your actions. And that is to consider their consequences.
Everything you do is going to produce some specific consequence. Even the thoughts you think have their consequences. All those consequences are in the future. Yet all too often you base your thoughts and actions primarily on what has happened in the past. Does that really make sense?
Your thoughts and actions will have no effect whatsoever on the past. Their consequences will be in the future. So when you take action, take it with an eye toward the future, not the past. You cannot change the past, and you cannot avoid changing the future. The question is, what's that future going to look like?
That depends on how carefully you consider the future consequences of your actions. You have the power to choose the very best of those consequences by virtue of the way you think and act right now.
Decide to actively choose your consequences every chance you get. The next time you feel compelled to take some particular action, stop and ask yourself what the consequences will be. That brief moment of consideration can make a world of difference in the kind of future you create for yourself.

To better help you answer this weeks poll, here's a link to the week we asked the question. :)
Well, we finally got some snow! After coming home from the folks place last night, DH, DS and I had a wee snowball fight when we got out of the car. DS is 4, and thought this was the greatest thing. We'll see how long it lasts. The last forcast I heard said it may get over 34 degrees today--all the white stuff may melt!
Well, I think I'm gonna jump in and take the Body For Life (BFL) challenge. What the heck. I've got nothing to lose except inches!;) A couple of the weight moves use machines, so I had to search out moves that worked the same muscle groups using dumbbells. It's only for 12 weeks and would finish up right around my birthday, so good health and fitness would be a great present to myself. I will still do SB WOE.
Sounds like all who went to WDW had a wonderful time and way too much food. Some really yummy sounding food! Can you post some recipes, PLEASE??? Hope y'all didn't end up catching anything from being out in the cold rain.
FROG Was thinking of you and Mr. Frog yesterday. Kept lurking on the board for updates. How did you do? As long as you did the best you could, that's what counts. And you didn't have the greatest of weather. Not very nice to run in cold rain. Hope you've been pampering yourself and keeping nice and cozy. Looking forward to you telling us all about it.
BOB Glad you're home safe and sound.
ROSALIE I don't like yogurt either, but when blended with everything else, I couldn't taste the yogurt.
MELIRIS Are you starting BFL today??
HELLO to all I've missed. I'm afraid to try to peek at the old board to review the posts in case I lose all that I've already typed.
Talk to y'all later.

Real quickie, will post more later but wanted to replay to Zanne:
Yes, I did my first BFL upper body workout today, and am also staying SB WOE. That free day thing scares me silly. I'll keep it legal!!!
I had a hard time figuring out a workout too, the "customized program" the site gave be included several machines and I refuse to budge out of my own free weight room at home. I have barbells, dumbells and a bench with leg extensions, but no decline bench. May have to get one for Mother's Day! I miss my usual full body workout- don't feel like I quite did it all if I don't get lower body too! Also I don't think I quite got the amount of weights right, cause it wasn't all that difficult. But I have tennis this afternoon, so I'll see if I can lift my arms by then. Do you want to compare workouts and see if that helps us? The site and book are pretty vague about actual #'s. email me if you want.
Hello everybody else. Hope Orlando was ablast for all- You still alive and kicking FROG?

NYAH, NYAH, NYAH!! I GOT TO SPEND ALL DAY WITH DEBBIE AND ELI YESTERDAY!!!!
Susanne – I think almost ALL the recipes from the brunch came from the board! And, you’re abolutely right – it was all VERY YUMMY!! Not one person went home hungry and the host and hostess have lunches for a MONTH! (Thanks to everyone for leaving us the leftovers! :D ) I had crustless spinach quiche for breakfast, hummus for mid morning snack and pasta for lunch – ALL leftovers!
FROG AND MR. FROG Kicked Boooo-teeeeee in the marathon!! They finished in 6:06 – official results from the Disney website. They averaged a 14 minute mile – pretty darn good pace for 26.5 miles! BTW, THAT’S IN THE TOP ½ OF ALL THE MARATHONERS ON SUNDAY!! THOSE MEDALS ARE BIG!!! I’m sooo proud of them! I can’t tell you how cold and wet it was while DEBBIE and ELI and I were waiting to cheer them on at the 20 mile mark! I think that rain would’ve been enough to make me want to quit – but throw in freezing cold and fierce winds - Y’all would have been so inspired to see them! They didn’t even look tired – DEBBIE took lots of pictures and got them smiling and still bouncing at the 20 mile mark. How FROG managed to still look so good at that point I’ll never understand.
Debbie and I got up dark and early at some ungodly hour to wave our flourescent batons in the dark along the starting line. We were rewarded by getting to snap a fresh picture of FROG and MR. FROG as they began their daunting task. Then we picked up Eli for breakfast and another trek out to see our favorite marathoners. The race seemed to be going smoother than the spectator traffic as we tried to get to the finish line. We were turned away from Epcot and had to go to the Magic Kingdom to catch the monorail to the finish line. We missed seeing them cross the finish line, but they said they were so tired that it might have been a good thing that we missed them so that they could scoot quickly to the hotel for a well-earned hot shower and nap. Debbie and Eli got to see them later in the evening and I hope to see them again at least once before they leave town.
I’m so inspired! If you want to find that motivation for working out – adopt a marathoner. FROG has been filling us in all year on her preparations and training and we’ve been able to encourage and rejoice with her on her successes. Seeing her and all the other people you know have been planning and working all year for this one day – this one challenge (ALL KINDS, SIZES, SHAPES, AGES OF PEOPLE) and the family and friends there to cheer them on is thrilling! I got choked up seeing people crying as they crossed the finish line and their co-horts hugging them and the pride as they exited the runners area with those huge gold medals around their necks. They set a daunting goal, worked toward it and reaped the rewards for their efforts. Amazing! Amazing goal!
I’ll warn you now that our fearless leader is speaking of a challenge for all of us for next year. Everyone of us should plan to meet in O-Town next year to participate in the marathon, the half-marathon or the full cheering section! We could plan a little better for the spectator areas to spread people out so that at every other viewing area we would have someone cheering the participants on. We have some good ideas for our garb and how to find each other. So just to encourage you and get you thinking and planning………….

The Ninth Running of the Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon
2002 Marathon Season Off to a Good Start!
by Larry Eder
January 6, 2002
Lake Buena Vista, FLA
California Track & Running News/For the Running Network
The 2002 Marathon season is off to a great start with the ninth running of the Walt Disney Marathon & Half-Marathon. Over 13,500 marathoners and 5,000 half-marathoners toed the starting line of this, the ninth running of the Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon.
The Fourth Wave of Running
Lake Buena Vista, FLA
As we watched the entire field run though the Epcot Center, first the runners, then the run/walkers, then the walkers, we marvelled at how the sport has changed in just the past nine years. And in many ways, the Walt Disney World Marathon has forcasted and reacted well to the changes in the sport and the world of running.
The sport of running is in what I would call the fourth wave, and it is a good, healthy place for our sport to be. The first wave was pretty male dominated, and 'more miles the better', never walk, go as fast as you can, and anything else be damned. Runners in the early and mid seventies were always trying to convert someone else to the sport. No pain, no gain.
The problem was, lots were hurt, and by the mid eighties, the press was giving running a real wacking. What many runners had missed was that the second wave, or the aerobic and walking scene was about to give running a second life. Women came into the sport, but, with a higher level of fitness and came from aerobics to walking to running, and guess, what? They stayed with the sport.
The third wave was what scared the running community. Guys like Jeff Galloway, a 1972 Olympian must have felt like a lone voice in the wind. He suggested walking breaks in your runs. I remember being with him in 1986 at the Charleston 15 miler, where he ran 1:26, and he confided in me that he was running four days a week. That was heresy! He and guys like Joe Henderson were the whipping boys of the purists.
Well, Galloway was right. Walking can enhance running. Don't get me wrong. Guys traiing for 27 minutes 10ks don't use walking much in their workouts, but masters can sure us it in long runs and break three hours, or whatever their goals are. Galloway and Bingham, and the training groups have demystified the sport, and it is better for it.
Guys like John Bingham, aka the Penguin, have taken Walt Stack, an early running stalwart from the San Francisco Bay Area, whose famous line was'-Start Slow and Taper Off' would have loved the Disney Marathon this year-because people are encouraged to break three hours, run five hours, run/walk seven hours, whatever they want, as long as they MOVE. You can be a racer, a jogger, a run/walker, a hiker, or just a moving human being.
This is the fourth wave, and it is getting guys like me to return to the sport. I started walking two months ago after promising to run/walk Columbus next year, and realized quickly what I was missing. The hour that I take at ten at night is mine, and I sometimes share it with my son, Adam, but it shows me that if I take my time, loose the weight I want to do, I will become active again.
The walkers, runner/walkers-running fusionists?-are active and that is what Disney is about. The truth of the matter is that marathoning has come of age. Yes, Boston, Chicago, New York need fast times, and quality supporting events, but at Walt Disney World Marathon & Half Marathon, a 2:32:38 by Dai Roberts, or the return win of 2:48:38 of Ilda Santos is seen for what it is by the 18,500 starters and the thousands of fans-performances by humans that are pretty darn impressive!
After having had cold weather, warm weather and everything in between, the rain and wind gusts started about three hours into the Marathon( remember, average field time here is about 5:25), yet, they kept coming, and coming...
I will end with the category winners, and part two will be on the rest of the story (sorry Paul Harvey)...
Half Marathon-Men Gabriel Rodriguiez-1:09:97
Half Marathon-Women Monica Hostetler-1:17:34

Okay, I have to really get back to work, but I just had to weigh in on the fun and great fellowship we had this week-end. If you ever have the opportunity to get together with some of the wonderful women on this board I highly recommend it! It’s like seeing long lost cousins – you don’t have to “get to know” each other at all – you just pick up in person where you left off in cyberspace.
 Have a great day everyone!

Good Monday Morning. A New Day a new week! Well yesterday started the week-that was a blow out for me! LOL I didn't feel well most of the day and when i was ready to eat i was starving-first to the store! Man i hate those days! Hubby didn't feel well and must have beathed all over me! HOw rude! I guess i will just have to see what damage was done on WEnds. Not much i am sure just being tough on myself----Its funny how much we think about what we put in our traps when we want to be on program! Anyway my week end was not to exciting. Not as exciting as the FLA. groups was! Sounds like you all had a great time. I will be looking for the pics. Meal sounded awsome too!
We got some snow the A.M and the kids had a delay from school 2 hrs!! I got some extra sleep and my little one has NO school so i have to get motivated to move my butt!
I have to go to my job tonight for a "back to duty" training! how fun 5:00 till 1:30 I don't know if i will survive! I am dreading going back to working nights M-F, but dread starving too!
Zanne- I did give you a link to a womans site who just finished the BFL she has lost alot of weight before she did this challange maybe that would be of intrest to you. here is the site. http://robynanderson.com/ofb/ just go to the current journal and click to see her pics its a good site she cracks me up.
I myself am sticking to my little weights and my new ankle weights i got for xmas! I can hardly handle the SB plan never mind Bill Phillips!!! there are alot of amazing storys in his book (which i read) and on his site.

Good Morning again! Sun is shining brightly now. Supposed to be about 20 degrees (a little lower than I thought!!!) but with the wind supposed to feel like ZERO!!! May venture out in the backyard anyway.
Rhroo Thanks! I did look up that link. She is a hoot! I have it bookmarked to go back to.
SolShine I'll have to study the recipe boards more closely. I made the hummus last week. Yum-my! The quiche sounds good too. Oh heck, everything sounded sooooo good! I'll have to start a binder to put all the recipes in. Sounds like you guys had a great time and how wonderful you were for staying out in the cold rain! Frog and the Mr. had a great finish time. Don't think I could do that.
Meliris I haven't peeked at the LBWO yet. I don't have the book, I'm getting stuff off the site. I better look at it today cause I might have to pick up a few more weights. We only have dumbbells, so I probably have to get some plates to throw on for the leg curls. DH doesn't do lower body, so we took that part off the bench. I better finish cleaning out the basement and then check out the LBWO. I'd love to compare workouts. I'm pretty much a beginner at weights, so I don't know how much I could help you, but I'd appreciate your expert help. I'll email you when I get it done--may not be till much later today.
Well, better finish cleaning up the basement. I've got snow to play in and a workout to do!

Good Morning Again!
WARNING!This is going to be a mightly long post!!!!
Just got in from my walk/jog. I have a NEW, UNBELIEVALBE, BEST TIME!!!!I did my 4.5 miles in 44:20!!! :spin: This is almost 2 minutes faster than my previous best time. I couldn't believe it and wonder if somehow I didn't do my timer right, but all seems perfectly okay with it and I had checked it as I went along the way. This weekend really psyched me up, it seems!!!!
THE WEEKEND
There has NEVER been any doubt in my mind what a wonderful group of women we have on this board, and this weekend just confirmed this fact that much more-it was wonderful and I truly wish you could of all been there to enjoy it with us.
Eli, I and the kids did get a late start Saturday morning (BOB, you do know me well!). With Eli coming home at 2am and getting only a half-hour sleep and me getting about 3 1/2 hours sleep, trying to get the kids ready to go, packing a few items, baking the quiche and making the hummus, we didn't get out of the house until 6am, instead of 5am. We made pretty good time once we got on the turnpike, but getting off and having to go through Kissimmee slows you down. Dropped the kids off at my cousins and we headed to SOLSHINES house, got there about 10:45am, I believe. Her directions were great!
We were greeted by SOL, her DH VINCE, FROG & DH BILL. FROG & DH had gotten there about 15 minutes before we did. We walked in and I felt like we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a while, not people who were meeting for the first time! SOL is absolutely the sweetest person-fun to be with, feel like you can talk about anything with her, a person you KNOW that if you lived closer to you'd know you'd love to hang around with and do stuff with her. VINCE is a doll. I didn't know what to expect as SOL had never posted a picture of him. Under that definite "I can be stern if I have to" look, there's a great person, easy to talk to and very personable. You can tell the two of them are DEFINITELY in love!!!! They make a great couple and I truly wish we lived closer!!!!
What can I say about FROG!?! She is just as outgoing in person as she is on the board, moreso even. You can see where she too would be a blast to be around, it would never be a dull moment hanging with her.:) I, as many of you, have seen pictures of her on the board-trust me, she's more beautiful in person! DH BILL is a dear too. A definite carrot-top. He and FROG compliment each other so nicely and make a great looking couple.
So, in we brought all the stuff we had in the car. I felt like I was moving in! Besides the food, I had the shirts FRED had sent me, brought my Powerbelt to show the others, pictures, cookbooks, Starbucks Espresso machine, a hostess gift, tahini and falafel mixes for SOL, pita bread for SOL & CHRIS, just a bunch of stuff!
SOL had her dining room table set up and already ready with some food, so we added our stuff to it. (I'm sure I'll be reiterating some of what others have already said, so please, bear with me). I brought HUMMUS & PITA BREAD (of course), the CRUSTLESS SPINACH QUICHE that I had popped in the oven at 4am, 2 ZUCCHINI LOAF CAKES as I didn't know if the first one was going to be good, so wanted to have a back-up, and the CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE which I was hoping would come out as good as the first one, and it did! SOL had made a dip made with cheese and Rotel tomatoes, I believe, served with Triscuits, a roast (sorry SOL, forgot what it was called exactly) in the crock pot, had SB LEGAL BREADS and she too made a CHEESECAKE (can you tell we weren't laking dessert!). She had the table nicely made with all the fixins, drinks, etc.
GATOR arrived next and adorned the table with the most interesting dish I had ever seen, a VEGETABLE TUREEN It looked wonderful! It tasted even better! Eli loved it too and was wondering how the heck she was able to keep it all together. She also made a bean dish that was interesting. It was nice to see her as well. I've met GATOR about a year ago at our first SB get together.
Last to arrives was BIGK & ZSU who drove together. Both of them are fairly new on the board, and they fit right on in with us "oldies". I can see where the two of them working together and being on SB together can provide not only a great friendship, but wonderful support. Being able to have the opportunity to get to know them better in person made me feel like they too had been around the board longer than they have. Both brought pictures of the family. BIGK'S son, well, if you saw his pic, you'd know why she has that screen name, he is a big boy, that's for sure! Her daughter is a blond cutie! ZSU also brought a couple pics of her and DH-what a difference in her since she took those pictures and lost so much weight. They both were such dolls!
Back to the food...BIGK brought a great veggie arrangement with a dip, and some delicious strawberries-she sure picked some winners, they were wonderful! ZSU made a really great dish with WW pasta, sausage and lots of other goodies in it. She'll have to post the recipe for you all.
Well, as SOL had mentioned, the table could easily of been a advertisement for our WOE. It looked great, and everything looked and WAS delicious (yes, I took pictures of the food! I know you would be asking this). We all dug in and everthing was fabulous. I personally ate way too much. We definitely could of fed an Army it seemed, lots of leftovers-SOL & VINCE won't have to cook for a few days, at least. Afterwards, Eli went to work and made cappucino's for all-not to mention, washing dishes-what a guy!!!!
We sat and talked while we ate and afterwards. FROG was a such a sweetie and brought us all insulated water bottle holders-I guess all this talk of late of us not drinking enough water maybe enticed her to make this selection??
After lunch and clean up we all headed over to WDW to the EXPO and to p/u FROG & BILLS racing stuff. We caravaned down the interestate and luckily, no one got lost. The EXPO wasn't as big as I thought, but that was fine, it was still nice. While FROG & BILL went to get their things, the rest of us walked around. We found FRED at his booth and thanked him for the wonderful shirts he sent us. He said he was having a good show, which made me feel good. Next to him was a "GOT MILK" booth and they were making milk shakes and having everyone take pictures with the classic GOT MILK MUSTACHE They could only get in 6 people at a time, so we 6 that were together at the time got the pics done, and FROG & BILL went on later and did theres. We all got a copy. Needless to say, I tried to make sure no one swallowed the shake and spit it out! There was also a booth from TANITA who makes the body fat scales. Never before would of I thought, in a public place, that I'd be getting on any type of scale! But I wanted to know what my BF was, so I hopped on. I must of broken the darn scale because it said my BF was 14.2%. Not knowing anything about BF and what numbers are good/bad, I asked the gal if that was good-and I got a YES! Seems for my age, a healthy range is 10.2-22.9. She put me as being athletic, I think better would be moderately active, so maybe the number would be up a bit more, but probably still within a good range. Anyhow, that was a real surprise. It also gave the BMI which was 23.3, It also did say my BRM would be 1302 calories, so without exercise, that's the caloric intake I would need to keep at my current weight. Since I do exercise, it's usually around 1400 (but lately, it's been up, up and away!).
After we got through there we went on to have an early dinner, as FROG & BILL had to get up and be at the race site at 4am:eek: We hit OUTBACK and thank goodness, with GATORS brains, she had called ahead to reserve seating for us, so we didn't even have to wait 2 minutes for a table. GATORS DH joined us for dinner, so we had a table of 10. Of course, we all know dinner at Outback is always good, but being with such wonderful company made it even better!!!
After dinner, we all disbursed and went our seperate ways. BIGK & ZSU headed back home, so we said our goodbyes in the parking lot. SOL & I planned to meet at 4am the next morning to head to the race site. Our hotel was great, very nice. Luckily, our hotel was just 5 minutes from Outback, so we had the least amont to drive after dinner.
I was worried and didn't think I was going to be able to go with SOL so early to the race site as at the time we got back to the hotel it seemed we'd have to go get the kids stuff in the morning so my cousins wouldn't have to cut their vacation day short (I don't like putting people out). Anyhow, I told SOL I'd plan to see her a bit later, but if anything changed, I'd let her know. Cousins called at almost midnight and though I don't remember much of anything, I did remember them saying if we could come get the kids later than what I had wanted that they would just come back at that time, which was great (and I prayed I wasn't dreaming this, cause I had been in a deep sleep). Luckily, I didn't sleep too soundly afterwards and 4:15am, I found myself grogy but up and called SOL on her cell phone asking her "where are you????" Luckily, she was just getting on the highway and was about 20 minutes away-enough time for me to hit the shower and throw on clothes and get down stairs, which is what I did. There wasn't enough time for Eli and I both to get ready, so I told him what I was doing and let him go back to sleep, he sure did need it anyhow.
SOL picked me up and off we went to the race site. We got there a couple minutes after 5am. There were so many people there! Runners were getting ready and there were so many spectators lining the route. We were lucky to get a great spot to view and cheer. At 6am the fireworks went off and a portion of the race began. First they had the wheelchair bound racers start-it brought tears to my eyes to see people who could easily let a disability like this ruin their lives if they wanted, but instead seem to turn negatives into positives! Then the half-marathon people started. Then the full. It was SO inspiring! You see so many different kinds of people, it's unbelievable! Old, fat, skinny, young, you name it! There was a man on crutches! There were people with funny hats, people dressed up as Minnie, Goofy, fairies, guy running with an American flag atop a fishing pole-it was just amazing!!!!!!! Got that camera ready, took a couple candid shots to finnish the role so if we were lucky to find FROG & BILL among the masses, I'd have some new film. Go in my purse to get the film and uh oh, no film! I had grabbed the film container with my Stevia in it instead of film!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's a guy staning behind SOL & I that says " you need some feel, here!" I said, "how much?" He tells me nothing, I'm a photographer, I have extra! What a guy!!!!! Anyhow, previously, FROG had given SOL some of those GLOW STICKS for us to wave so she could see us easier, so we're standing there waving these glow sticks and getting our arm exercises while cheering on the runners and looking for FROG & BILL and WE SEE THEM!!! Take a quick pic, wish them luck and off they go. The next viewing wasn't for quite a while, so SOL & I went back to the car, told ELI to get ready and we headed back to the hotel, had some breakfast, packed up and checked out and headed back to WDW to the site that FROG had told us was the hardest for them, which was mile 20, where it looped and came back to hit mile 21 (so we would get to see them twice after they looped). We got there around 9am and it started to pour. I felt so bad for the runners, it's cold and now raining! Not good. ELI ran back to the car for the umbrella and a rain poncho, he stayed for a bit then went back to the car to change his wet shirt and put on a sweater, and SOL & I kept looking for FROG & BILL while cheering on the runners (they really appreciate it). We finally got to see them around 10:45am, and they were looking good, but drenched. After they faded away into the distance we hopped in the car, we knew we had at least an hour before they would hit the finish line, so we headed to Starbucks which is fairly close. On the way back we went to EPCOT where the finish line was and a security guy was at the exit to get in,turning cars away, saying there was no room:eek: We didn't know what to do, so headed to WDW, we figured we'd have to take the monorail over to EPCOT and then see the finish of the race. Luckily, the guy didn't charge us the usual $6 to park there, but by the time we got the tram to the WDW gates, waited for the monorail, took it over to Epcot, so on and so forth, FROG & BILL were already done and gone:( We didn't know that and looked all over the REUNION AREA for them, until they called from the hotel to tell us they were there. I felt awful! If the guy had let us in we would of been there in more than enough time (like at least 20 minutes to spare). When we got to Epcot, it wasn't packed like he said-and we were not only disappointed, but pissed off as well. Anyhow, can't cry over spilled milk, doesn't help the situation, she knew we were there in spirit! Even GATOR tried to come and cheer her on, but my cell phone died and they couldn't reach us, and it was raining, so they left-can't blame them.
Anyhow, from there, SOL, ELI & I went out to lunch-to Italianni's. We use to have one close to home, but they closed it about a year ago, and I really miss it! I think the Orlando location is the only one open anymore, not that they had that many to start with. So we went there and I got what I usually get which is EGGPLANT PARM, so the breading was about the only no-no on the dish, but it was oh, so good! SOL had the same and enjoyed it. ANYHOW, I was going to do a major, horrific cheat-at least I thought so. I had told ELI, should we ever get to Italianni's, I wanted a piece of their TIRAMISU, which, the one down here had the best I could ever find. SO, here we are, in Italianni's and I've got the good/bad conscience going back and forth on whether to get this Tiramisu and finally decide to get it and have just a little. They bring it and right away, I knew it wasn't the same, looked different. Stuck my fork in it, put it on my tongue, did it again, knew it wasn't the same and said "forget it". So I guess, not even a tsp. going in my mouth would constitute it to be a cheat. I guess G-D was trying to keep me legal!!! LOL!!!
We took SOL back to our hotel where we had left her car and said our goodbyes as she needed to get home and get some rest, it had been a long weekend for her as well. After she left ELI & I went to FROG & BILLS hotel to see them before we left. SOL & I, when we went to STARBUCKS had seen a pair of FROG SLIIPERS at the store next to it and bought them for FROG. Our intentions to give them to her at the finnish line were thwarted, so I presented them to her at the hotel-I hope she found some comfort in them because her and BILL'S feet were killing them. Her poor tootsies are really bad! Both her and BILL were limping! They looked good and were enjoying some R&R in the lobby in front of the big screen tv with some wine and beer. We got to congratulate them for doing a great job in the race and FROG showed off her beautiful MM MEDAL that she so rightfully earned! We sat and chatted for a while before taking a few pictures and having to leave.
Off to get the kids, later than I had wanted, got them, had to stop and get them some food for dinner and started to head home. Made it in the door at 11pm, very tired. Didn't sleep well for some reason, so a bit pooped today, esp. after the run.
So there you have it, my best recollection of this weekend! It was truly wonderful and I wish it didn't have to end so quickly. Again, I wish you would of all been able to join us. SOL & I decided that NEXT YEAR, WE TOO ARE GOING TO BE IN THE WDW MARATHON WITH FROG and we want as many of you on the board to either join us in the race, or at least come and cheer us on!!
ALSO, we want you all to SERIOUSLY think about joining us for a big SB GET TOGETHER in OCTOBER 2002 in NORTH CAROLINA at the beachfront property that FROG can get us for dirt cheap! Don't miss out on this opportunity-we are giving you more than enough notice to make plans. We don't have an exact date yet, but just tell your bosses and DH's that you know you'll need a day or two off in early October and will let them know the exact dates in the next couple months. Probably Thursday-Sunday, as Friday-Sunday just seems too short-even Thursday-Sunday is short, but more is hard for many. KEEP IT IN MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow, I'm going to work on PART 2 of my post now...

good morrning everybody,
the weekend was wonderful and the meeting in orlando was awesome! i was a little nervous driving over to sonya's to meet the sugarbuster gang on saturday but once i walked through that door i felt that i had hooked up with friends i have known forever!
i had a great time, the food was wonderful and everything was SB legal. when i told my husband everything we had he was surprised we had room for the dinner at the outback, a photo of the spread would be a good advertisement for convincing people to go on SB. especially the CHEESECAKE!(please post the recipe debbie ASAP) solshine and gatorgal did an excellent job reporting the events of the day, i just wanted to reconfirm how wonderful it was getting to meet everyone! the care and support that comes across the board is amazing but these women walk the talk so to speak. what a warm caring group of women and i just want to thank you all for the great time.
frog-remember what i said about spewer, YOU ARE THE WOMAN! i am so glad i got to meet you, what an inspiration you are to all of us! hope you had a great time and please stay warm and dry, sorry about the florida rains
solshine-thanks so much for opening your house to all of us, you were an excellent hostess (and vince was a great host) we only live about an hour from you, keep in touch, maybe we will see you again on any of our many treks to UCF to see my big knight!
gatorgal- enjoyed our visit with you and mr. gator. i enjoyed our football talk. i am confident that the gators will do well in their coach search, i gather that BOB has a little ribbing for you!
zsuzsu- thanks for going with me to the get-to-gether. you are not half bad to travel with (LOL) seriously you are an inspiration with your 50lb. loss and the reason i found this WOE.
and last but not least debbie-you are truly a wonderful caring person and like i have said before thank you for finding this fl. gal on the cold sugarbuster message board and showing the way to these caring and inspiring women on this message board. it was a pleasure to meet you and eli(what a sweetie) you are to be congratulated on pulling this weekend together! seeing your photos and talking to you has put everything in line for me and has given me that extra boost i need to start the new year with this WOE. i had been a litle discouraged with the last six weeks of slow little losses but i am confident that i can do it ! thanks for the coffee, shirt and pita, but most of all thanks for the opportunity to meet all of you wonderful folks!
and to all of you other sugarbustin ladies if you are able try to meet up with us at a get-to-gether in the future, it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!
your friend,
chris

Morning SB-ers!
Well, I can’t add much to the board today after reading all the wonderful descriptions of the Marathon Marathon (lol) at WDW. I am so jealous about everything!!! Hanging with the SB crowd, watching the marathon, being at WDW --- while up here we have 6 inches of new snow….I could kick myself for not having made my FLA reservations final last year!
DEB – I’m, glad you had such a great time with the gang. And good for you on that tiramisu! I don’t know that I would have had the willpower to not eat it. Congrats on the bodyfat info as well – excellent results! Imagine what they would have been two years ago!
FROG – Congrats on finishing! I can imagine the sense of satisfaction you must have. You go girl!
SOL, GATOR, and the rest of the FLA gang – happy you all had such a fun and productive time. Wish we were FLA bound soon, but no plans at the moment. We watched our 3/01 Disney vacation video this weekend and I was losing my mind – wanted to go back so badly! Ah, it will have to wait till the new roof, new paint on the house, etc. etc….
I’ve been 98% OP since last Wednesday and do feel better. Won’t weigh for a while….the remaining 2% is from an occasional taste of someone elses’ food….nothing serious. Did have some pretzels yesterday but managed to get the the market last night and stock up on SB legal stuff.
QUESTION for Deb – the spareribs recipe posted on the recipe thread calls for ketchup – is the sugar in ketchup not to be concerned with? Have looked for SF ketchup to no avail. Let me know as I bought ribs last nite – a good, family friendly meal!
Well, this weekend consisted of a total of 5 hockey games/practices, skiing for big DS and DH, and stocking up at BJs on FRUIT 2-0!! For those of you who get sick of water, try getting some of this stuff – no sugar, no calories, no chemicals – it goes down WAY easier than water sometimes does – I bought it for the kids, because after hockey they always want a powerade or something, full of sugar, and found that I really like it myself. Give it a try, may help with water consumption!
Back to my (boring, boring, boring) work…..Everyone stay warm!

Well, here we are at the beginning of a new week. So far I am off to a pretty good start. My DH and I went to the hockey game last night where I was pretty good considering. I didn't have my normal hockey game food and had a diet soda and water to drink. I know it doesn't sound like much, but for me it is big.
Today so far I have had 1 cup of green tea and water with my lunch, which was a chicken breast with provolone cheese and a salad.
I didn't work out or strecth this morning becuase I can't seem to get over this creeping crud that I have had since Christmas. I'm really hoping that it goes away soon so that I can add some movement to my life.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Sounds like the ladies at WDW had a blast.

I figured I better do this post in 2 parts, just in case I lost 1, or it was too big to do the entire thing.
Was happy to find the scale down again, not to my all time low, but down from the other day. Back down to 121.5. After this weekend, I felt a renewed feeling and finding myself wanting to get back to journaling and drinking my water, so I am resigned to do the best ever today! Just being with the gals makes you feel like that, at least it did for me:)
I was happy to hear the board was hopping when SOL told me she saw the great activing on the board when she went to post on Saturday-you all make me proud:D I'm going to do my darndest to reply to everyone that I can-I figured I'd be at this computer until I had to go get Michael at school.
BOB, were your ears a'burning this weekend? We really missed your presence and truly wished you'd of been able to join us-for sure, next time! We discussed Thursday night's SURVIVOR and all seem to think it will be ETHAN who takes the money home, 2nd in line is TOM. You do know ELI well, he definintely wondered this weekend-luckily, between my *****in under my breath, I was able to find her rather easily:) Did you have a good trip?? Really good BBQ, okay, how was the sauce, compared to SHORTY'S?? Glad to see you're back, safe and sound!
MELF, you make me blush:^: with such kind words. As important as I must seem to you and the rest of the board, you are ten fold more important to me!!! Your ears burning this weekend too-we talked about the time you got to meet SOL & GATOR! Choc. Cheesecake, tell me more!! I know the feeling about the scale and the yo-yo, but it happens and it's been happening to me as well, so just know, you aren't alone!
TV, terribly guilty with the water intake over the past weekend and last week. I don't think I drank even 2 cups of water this entire weekend! BUT, with a renewal today, I'm sitting here with a 1.5 liter bottle of water, vowing to drink it all before I finish this post:)
SHEANN, hope you are doing well as you get into following the SB WOE. You really won't miss the potatoes, just give your self a little time, it's all mental. You are so right, there are so many other things you can have, focus on that, vs the ones you can't. The BROWN RICE CEREAL, not sure how SB LEGAL it is, esp. if it's ground small. Just remember, if you see that it bothers you, you can always give it up. One thing about SB is, it seems to be a very forgiving WOE. What may bother you may not bother another. BEACHFAN who just hasn't had any time to post on our board in recent months, met her goal weight last year and the entire time on SB she ate bananas. So where that didn't bother her, it may bother me (though I don't know, haven't had one in almost 2 years!). Did you get to make the hummus??
MEL, sounds like you had a good food day on Friday-congrats! Hmm, addicted to exercise, you sound like SPARKLE, please be careful with that-at least you have recognized this may be a problem. I do give you a lot of credit in varying your exercise regime though, but try not to over due it:) The cheesecake, to die for! But DANGEROUS for me to have it around, addicted to exercise? I'm addicted to this cheesecake!
TREE, so good to see your post! We've missed you! Was wondering what happened to you! Loved the info on the wrinkles-wonder if you stop eating the sugar/crap, do the wrinkles disappear-wishful thinking, I guess! Well, maybe now that we are all following SB, we'll all stay youthful looking! LOL!! CONGRATS on the new job! Glad to hear it's in the same field. Life's too short to be in a job you aren't happy in-and what perfect timing to have someone offer you a new job!! Will check your recipe out later, interesting name!
FILLISE, how was "A BEAUTIFUL MIND???"
ZANNE, glad the smoothie recipe was a hit! BUT, do be careful with using the grape juice, it's really a no-no:nono:, too much sugar in it. Hope you got rid of the berrie pits, they can hurt if you get stuck in a gum!!! I read most of the BFL book, but knew it wasn't something I would commit myself to doing. Would love to see your pics that you DH took of you before!! HINT, HINT! Good luck with BFL! The recipes, the ones I made are on the board, well, all except the cheesecake one, which I'll get on this week.
SOL, you did a good job with posting the events of the weekend. I'm sure they're going to get sick of us telling them what a great weekend we had! THANK YOU AGAIN! I miss you already!!!! You did a great job on reviewing the weekends events for everyone (hey, I got you on the board twice this weekend!!!) Thanks for posting all the info for next years WDW MARATHON. I know you will be starting your training well in time and will be very prepared to run with me and others next year :) Loved reading the article from the news. Did you get to see any of it on the news?? It's amazing the times the winners finished the marathon in-like they flew! I wish we had more time together, we could of spent some serious time getting into trouble together. I guess we'll just have to plan another time to get together in the near future. Remember, you and VINCE have an open invitation to come down and stay with us for a long weekend visit. Hey, I bet I could even get BOB to come at the same time-that would be a hoot!! Did you get some good sleep before work today? Did you get my e-mail with the guy who's face I surely can't recall?? LOL!!!!
ROSALIE, we thought about everyone on the board during our time together, and we surely felt the vibes you were all sending down to us!
JRED, just a quick HELLO!!! How's the weather out there in the Lonestar State?
GATOR, it was good to see you again. Once again, sorry about the cell phone trouble and not being able to get with you too. As you probably read from my first post, we didn't get to see FROG & BILL finish the race either. We all were upset. Anyhow, I have said it before, and I'll say it again, you missed your calling, you should of been a gourmet cook-I loved the tureen, and I swear, I know if I ever even attempted to make one, it would be a flop-you do have a way of making things not only delicious, but choosing foods that are so beautiful to look at! Between you and SOL rubbing salt in the wound of BOB and getting her coffe, she may be in tears by now!
CAT, hope you got a whirl on the treadmill! SOL asked me about the same question on exercise and the motivation of doing it. It's hard to do it, esp at the beginning, but once you get into the routine, you miss it if you don't do it. I think what motivated me most at the beginning was seeing the scale move down faster as I made exercise more of a daily event in my life. Then it just became second nature. I find I'm cranky and more hungry during the day if I don't do it, and with a day like I had today and having a new best time, it's like a natural high-such a wonderful feeling!!! If you're able, when the weather is good, walk outside-I had a TM and gave it away, I hated it!
NANCE, trust me, we took pictures!! NOW, have to get one roll developed and the other one done, will finish that one probably at Lauren's bday in a couple weeks. A date with DAN, no kids-WOW! What did you see at the movies? Yum, that recipe sounds great-def. post it, as I'm SURE it must be SB LEGAL if you are making it;)
NOMORESUGAR, WELCOME TO THE BOARD! Glad you have decided to join us. You're definitely a seasoned SB MEMBER, not to mention ANOTHER FLORIDIAN!!!!! As you can see, we have a slew of Floridians on this board, the more, the merrier! That's so cool you have a SB SUPPORT GROUP, how many women are there in the group? How are they doing with this WOE? I'm sure you are an inspiration to them. TOFU, there's a brand that I use that I think is calledSO-LOW SOY BOY, not sure as I don't really pay attention to the name, but just know the product and grab it at the store. That I get at the HFS, Wild Oats. I know some Publix carries it, so keep an eye out if you want to find some there. There are hundreds of thousands of recipes using soy. Actually, you can use tofu in just about any recipe, if it calls for chicken, or meat, you can substitute tofu for these foods. Here's a good site for tofu info, just click on the link: http://www.tofu.com/recipes.html There are also lots of great books in the libraries and many sites on the web as well-if I can help you find something in particular, just let me know-would be happy to help. Again, WELCOME!
WAFRA, glad to hear you're converting the troops without having too much resitance! Glad to hear you were able to get the agave-you should try to stock up on it while you can. Let us know what you make with it.
SEF, funny you should mention Olive Garden, one of the few places I really don't like, one due to there being very little choice for one on SB to choose from, not to mention, I really don't care for the food. BUT, the last time I was there, at the beginning of SB, I had them bring a bowl of plain salad and had to resort to squeezing lemon juice and shaking salt on it-wasn't too bad. Also, had them make some fish, plain. Oh yes, the food was SB LEGAL and there was way too much of it-wish you were there!!!!
RHROO, when the kids go to school late due to snow, do they have to stay later? Heck, I don't like going out when it's in the 50-60 degrees here! Eli was laughing at me in the car on the way up to Orlando, as I was freezing-he says " And you want to move North???" I may have to rethink this idea!!!
BIGK, again, it was such a pleasure to meet you! I'm thrilled you came and joined us, and as I poste earlier, as well as your confirmation in your post, it was like we were all old friends! There is NOTHING like getting together with other SB friends to feel a renewal of excitement and support. I know we will be getting together more times in the future and I hope both you and ZSU will always find a way to join us!!!!
VIV, you should be able to find SF ketchup at the HFS if not elsewhere, or you can be adventurous, and make your own. Definitely don't want regular ketchup, with it's corn syrup among gawd knows what else in it. I bought some WESTBRAE SF KETCHUP, but haven't tried it yet-not a big ketchup lover.
JMUIR, hope you can rid yourself from that crud, hanging around too long. Congrats on holding strong with not eating the hockey food! Lunch sounds yummy, think I'll got make some chicken salad!!!
Was on the phone with my Dad a went to read him the results of the BODY FAT thing I mentioned in my first post, and realized that the range of numbers I had quoted before were incorrect, that was for MALES! Not sure how good this is, but for my age the FEMALE RANGE IS 21.3%-35.8%! Anyone know if it's bad to have lower? Not that it's going to make a differnce, sure as heck know that I'm not gaining any fat to bring those numbers up-really, I must of broke the darn scale!!!!
Suppose to have another cold front coming through tomorrow-would you Northern gals stop sending this frigid air down here, please!!!!
WOW, I've been at this computer for HOURS! Finally finished-WHEW! Guess I should go see what I con conjure up for lunch, take a shower and get ready to go get Michael. I'm sure I must of missed telling you all SOMETHING, but the brain is tired now, so I'll have to post whatever I forgot later, as I'm almost done with this water and I HAVE to hit the potty!!!
Have a wonderful week! Please remember, TOMORROW NIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST!!! Hope you all can make it!!

Happy New Year. It's been awhile since I've visited a SB board, but glad to be back. Everyone sounds energized, by the Florida trip, by exercise, by the support. Great to read about you all.
I have now lost 14 pounds on the SB WOE. Did well through the holidays, have been consistent with my exercise program, feel good!
I am planning to go to Central America in a few weeks to Spanish language school, and to volunteer in an orphanage. May be gone for two months. Somewhat worried about the eating part. Will not be able to stay legal, but hope I am able to make mostly healthy choices, and continue to lose weight. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.
I will check in again before I leave, and when I return.
Until then, have a wonderful week.

It sounds like everyone had a wonderful time at the marathon. I have always had a dream of one day running one. I turn 48 in June and I would like to make it a goal to run one before I turn 50. I guess the first goal should be to walk a mile:D
So far today I have had: 2 boiled eggs chopped with a tablespoon of salsa wrapped in a ww tortilla. Two hours after that I had a grapefruit.
Debbie, I did make the hummus. I took a small taste and it tastes so good, I can't wait to have it for lunch on toasted ww pita chips.
I guess, I really need to concentrate on drinking my water too. I have been so bad about that and I know that it is one of the keys to losing weight.
Also, I was watching a section about health on the news the other day. They said something that made me sit up and take notice: "If you are significantly overweight", like me, "you may have your life shortend by as much as 20 years". Now that is a statement and a half. AND it woke me right up. I want to be around to see my grandchildren grow up, not to mention, run that marathon.
Anyway, Hope everyone has a great evening! I will probably be back reading the posts and posting again later.

This weekend was my first OFFICAIL try on with SB WOE. MAN, I didnt realize how many illegal foods we eat!
Today has been good so far, I think I ate a good breakfast, I had a piece of WW toast only 1gr sugar per slice, with a little butter. One boiled egg with a little salt and pepper and a 4oz glass of oj, fresh squeezed.
I had that at about 730a and then a snack at about 11a. I had a little granny smith apple and an 8oz thing of dannon NF blueberry yogurt.
I am drinking water.
Does that sound ok?
I was glad to here that Frog finished the marathon! I am so proud for her! I know what a great acomplishment that was! Maybe one day I will be that fit to be able to run that far! It gives me the courage to go another day! GREAT JOB FROG!
I have been able to say no thanks to some 3 kings Cake that one of my team mates brought to work! I love 3 kings cake! It was hard, but I am so proud of me for sticking to my guns!
I say myself on video the other day, boy was I surprised. I look like a hippo! I was not happy with that at all. I decided right then, that I am not going thru another year looking like a beached whale!
I just now have to convince myself that excercise is important!
Thanks to the person who gave that website about shaking off the sugar. I am looking for good ideas and recipes and hopefully this will help!
I guess this is long enough.
Keep it up! We can do this.

HiedieHo All!!!
My, some people can be soooooo wordy, but thank goodness they are!!!!! All of the Otown gang have given us such wonderful reports, I'm bereft that I wasn't there!!! We're eager for any more tidbits of the weekend you night have missed on your first posts!
Motivation for me at this point is all the gift certificates I got for Christmas. I want to be able to spread them out and reward myself as I CONTINUE to go down!!
To my way of thinking motivation can be anything that helps us see why or how we want to lose weight. For one it is reading about obesity shortening our lives. We've all heard it so many times, but chose not to let it sink in because we don't like to face facts. Then one day BAM! (excuse me Emeril) for some reason it hits us and we are ready to meet the enemy......ourselves. Or we see pictures of ourselves and wonder how could we have let ourselves get so hippo-like! I look at myself and really don't see a big change in weight, yet my clothes definitely show it! Then I looked at pics from Christmas a year ago! OMG!! That's me? Did I really look like that? Guess so, pictures don't lie!!!
So we are motivated by one thing or another. Makes no difference what, just that we are and that's what keeps us going!! Now about that exercise...........
TREE - Tough to be in limbo at your job. You're still part of the work force but no longer a part of the team. At least you have something new to look forward to.
BOB - Well, welcome home. At least you made it between storms. I was stranded twice for long periods of time at an airport, 7 hours in Detroit and 8 in Minneapolis-St.Paul. Definitely not fun. At least you weren't sitting in airport all that time, got to a mall! Your sojourn is behind you now and you can relax.
FROG - You're probably too pooped to pop or post. Everyone is so proud of you. The Otown bunch gave us glowing reports. Hope by now you both are recovering.
DEB - You probably didn't get a good night's sleep because !) you were probably over tired and 2) you were so keyed up wanting to post all that info to us here. You did a great job reporting as did the other gals, we could almost feel the rain and taste the food!!!!
JMUIR - You say your abstinence wasn't much. For each of us there is a different "much", any time we can forego something that is a temptation we have done MUCH!!!! WTG!
VIV - Around here the only brand SF Ketchup I've seen is Estes. It is really good. Get it in Winn Dixie, once in a while Sav_A_Center (A & P) has it. Arund here WD had the best selection of SB & other SF foods. Even have fresh SB bread in their bakery.
CRICKET - 14# down is wonderful!! Maybe Central America might not be so bad, they don't have the processed foods we have so whole grains should be easy to come by, also veggies will be available. I have a friend whose son lives in Brazil, she says foods there are really more natural. We'll hope the same for you.
Did my usual stint at NH and then picked up a few things at Winn Dixie. Am doing wash. Also ds was home over the holidays and I didn't do much cooking after our company left. Now it is back to regular routine, school's in, ds back to work and dil even worked a couple of hours today. She was exhausted and is taking nap. So now I'm back to usual too, am fixing poached salmon, tossed salad and rice for supper.
Hope all are well, Take care, sef

Hello all,
I have been enjoying my last day before I head back to work tomorrow. Slept late......till 6am. In the morning I will get up at 5am. LOL Did a few things around here before getting a showere. Then I took DS #2 and DD to the mall. We got them both new tennis shoes and both on sale I might add. Then DD and I found some MUDD sweats that she loved on sale so we got two pairs. I wish I could find some of those in my size.....they look so comfy.
I have the farrier coming out tomorrow to do Cami and Dixies hoofs. She was recommended by the lady I got Cami from and lives near here and I also like the fact that she is female. I can't wait to meet a fellow horse nut. LOL The Stables where we taking riding lesssons has agreed to come out this week and evaluate Dixie for me. She either has not had as much training as I was lead to believe or I just don't know what the heck I am doing. Which I fear is a little of both. Anyway they will decide where we need to go from here with her. She will probably wind up spending a month with them so they can help her learn what we expect of her. The stable is a mile away from my school so I will go by and ride/visit her everyday. They have been doing this for 31 years. Can you imagine that ......I would love it. Maybe some day I can get to that point. Small steps Debbie .....small small steps.
I have been doing good with my eating the last couple of days so I will not wiegh till Wed....but I think I will be surprised ....in a good way.
I am so glad that you gals and guys...LOL had such a wonderful time together. I am jealous....but I will get to meet you all one day I am sure.
Frog.......we are so proud of you and hubby ......you make us all wanna take up running. I hope you had a safe trip back home.
Deb......great reporting....you do make things come alive when you type....thanks so much for sharing. Please include pictures when you can. I did find the digital camera I wanted on buy.com....should be getting it by the end of the week. Also I wanted to ask will the October gathering be for just gals or would spouses be included?
Need to run....to all I missed ....keep on keeping on....we will win this battle together.
Smiles,
Debbie :))

Welcome back all you guys who went to WDW. Sounds like yall had a good time and alot of good food to eat to boot. Could almost taste the food. Cant wait to see the pics.
Congrats Frog and Mr. Frog. What an accomplishment.
welcome back Crickett
Well Gator Gal. I got my motivation to exercise. My nephew is getting married in May, and I need to slim down in order to fit into one of my nicer dresses. I think we should email each other with a weekly plan, then on Friday see how good we did. Hows that sound?
my email addy is duvallrl@swbell.net
Busdeb - congrats on staying OP. Nothing better for motivation then seeing the scale go down
BOB - welcome back
DH and I went out tonite and bought some flooring for our den. It is Formica Fast Lock flooring tile. It looks like ceramic but its not. Will be putting that down next week, inbetween playing golf and goofing off.
Ive got several rooms I need to paint, but cant decide on a color scheme for any of them. I figure I might as well do them now while winter is here, since I cant do any gardening stuff til spring.
Well guess I better go for now. Hello to everyone else and see ya in the am.

Hi, Girls!!!!!
I got a note from DEB and, as we all know, she is SOOOO wonderful. She mentioned the BigO weekend and I had to get to the board to get all the scoopage! First of all . . .
WAY TO GO FROGGIE!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!! YOU ARE WOMAN, HEAR YOU ROAR AND RACE BY!!!!!!! I am so happy, happy, happy for you and so very proud of you. What an incredible accomplishment. I'm giving you a standing ovation right here and now. WAY TO GO, GIRLFRIEND. You so inspire me to get my big you-know-what moving!!!!!
Thanks to SOL and DEB for their fantastic descriptions of the weekend. I was GREEN with envy. That spread you all put together at SOL"S sounded like something from a magazine. Wow! What a bunch of gourmet chefs. I wish there'd have been a video camera in the midst to record some of the get together for posterity's sake.
For those of you boarders of 6 months or less, I am an oldy, moldy who has teetered off the path to Sugar Free-dom. But I love so many people on this board and care about their successes and their attempts at success, that I have decided to get back on the board and check in with you dear souls.
Thanks also to VIV and DEB and SEF and SOL and BOB for keeping me in their email thoughts and forwards. You guys are great. It's good to be back. I did get a new computer in the fall, so it should make reading the board a bit faster. I'm crossing my fingers.
Take care.

Newbies - I was logging onto <www.fitday.com>, a free website (you have to register) when I started. It showed me that I wasn't getting enough protein so my %ages were higher in carbs than they should be (40%carb, 30%protein, 30%fat). So I increased the egg intake, and started putting protein powder in my smoothies. I also was not getting enough calories throughout the day. So, it really helped me in tracking my %ages and calories until I got the hang of SB WOE. I checked it when I came home for work. Then if I needed to adjust it, I still had dinner to eat, and that helped me stay within the guidelines. Usually I'd end up eating some skim milk cheese at night to get to the right percentage protein. Laughing Cow, spreadable skim milk cheese wedges are great!
For b-fast, I usually have a smoothie (1/2c yogurt, 1/2c milk, 1/2c frozen fruit, + protein powder), or one scrambled egg, plus rye toast, a canadian bacon slice, and cheese, or 1c cereal + 1/2c milk. Oh yeah, I must include the coffee fix. For lunch, I usually eat out, so I usually ask for extra veggies instead of the rice or potatoes, and I bring my own salad dressing (a salad is the easiest thing to tweak for SB, and most places have them). For dinner, we usually have the same things (you know you don't make any new meals, you just go through the same 5 meals over and over :D ), and that's where I get the rest of my protein for the day (my DH is a meat and potatoes guy). Of course, if I'm cooking, he's eating more sweet potatoes these days!
Hang in there, this WOE works!
Congrats Crickett! That's a great loss! You are so lucky to go to Central America. That's a great way to learn the language. I had a friend who did the same thing - volunteered at an orphanage (in Mexico?). She said she was really happy working with the children.
Sef - thanks for the job encouragement! Some of the crew are having a goodbye lunch for me which is nice. I will miss SOME :s: of them! Only a couple of more days and I'm outta there!
Debelli - I thought you might be interested in the chichikoot, since you do a wheat germ breakfast sometimes. I haven't tried it with other fruit. I actually cooked the whole POUND of wheatberries, so I froze half of it. It seems to have survived the freezing.
Well, I have to go. Talk to you all soon.

WOW what a weekend! Deb and Sol you should be screen writers! I could see and smell and taste the whole extravaganza! I'd love to be in on the challenge for next year. Don't know if the old knees can do a whole marathon anymore, even at walk/jog pace, but definitely would go for the 1/2. The rain didn't sound very appealing, tho. For that I can stay in Pennsylvania! I'm not sure how dh will react to me going away in October and January but I'd sure like to try. He works pretty long days sometimes (a lot) and ds is not real trustworthy home alone. Just a little too inventive and inquisitive.
FROG (and MR FROG) CONGRATULATIONS!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURES. Hope your tootsies aren't too sore. I think it's great that you ran it together. I could never get dh into running, thinks its just mindnumbingly boring (part of the attraction IMHO), and he plays roller and ice hockey, which I find unbearably painful. Just not sports compatible.
ZANNE- LOL! Expert advice- you should have seen me this morning with the weights. I must have had my brain turned off since I started lifting umpteen years ago. I had no idea what to use to reach required intensities. Some sets never got anywhere near where they should have been, others, well I had to toss the weights once so I wouldn't drop them on my face! Guess that was hitting 11's. And the 1 minute between sets? What a yawn! I felt like I spent as much time staring at my stop-watch as I did lifting. This may not be for me....But I'll give it a few more weeks.
Deb- Congratulations on your new best time!!! Those marathoners must have really inspired you. My how you've changed your tune: when I first started reading this board you swore you'd never jog, walking was quite enough, thank you. Now your talking about marathons! Maybe I'll get you lifting yet!;) Did Michael get his weight set and bench yet???
Today I finally saw my all time low ( from WAY BACK) in mid December of 141. Another high point of the day: my boss gave me a pair of jeans that didn't fit her right and said she thought I looked about right for them: They were Old Navy size 6! I was thrilled just that she thought they might fit me, but told her it was impossible. She convinced me to try them on, and I was blown away that they went on, I could zip and button them and I could (almost) breath. But not comfortably:( . So I gratefully took them, and they are my "goal pants" for February. I can't believe I'm the same person who had to keep my size 16's unbuttoned on the plane ride home in July. I'm so glad I found this WOL, all of you, and my heavy squat bar:D
The snow finally hit here, along with ice. YUK!

It's late Monday night and I have just returned from dinner with several gal friends - we do a monthly girls nite out - and it is so easy stay legal when there is fish on a menu! The scale this morning show one pound less than a few days ago....which makes this the greatest way to eat!
SEF - I grew up in Perth Amboy and dh in Linden. We lived in Scotch Plains for a few years before moving the family to Florida. Where were you from???
DeBelli - Anywhere from 5 to 10 show up at the support group meetings. I keep trying to get them to read more about this WOE on line and at all of these great boards - but they are being kinda lazy! Some are doing better than others - and I think they do tend to cheat a bit. They find it hard to eat out all the time - something we retired seniors do here - and stay legal. Especially when they eat a price fixed meal with dessert included! But they are trying - and that is what is important. :)
I did stop off at two big health food stores today and neither one had the agave nectar. Which one do you order - the light or dark? I guess I will have to get it on line - or did I read somewhere that there is a place in Pembroke Pines that carriers it?????

Evening All:wave:
Thought I'd be in bed by now, so pooped! Thought I'd try to get in a post before hitting the hay.
I did great today with journaling as well as water, so I'm happy. Tomorrow will be another successful day, I can feel it!
CRICKETT, glad to see you back, and Happy New Year! You are doing awesome, 14lbs is wonderful, CONGRATS!!!! WOW, that sounds like an interesting trip to take, when would you leave? What country are you planning to go to? I'm sure you can stay OP more than you think, these countries don't have as much processed foods as we do here. If you keep to basics, you'll probably do just fine. Maybe you should take some WW pastas, boxes of legal cereal and other food items that you can store easily with you, sure would help keep you more OP.
SHEANN, if you've dreamed it, you can do it! So why not plan to come with us next year! You have a year to train! You to make things happen!!! Your tortilla sounds yummy. I made a bean burrito for dinner tonight, was delicious, even though I was missing the tomatoes. Glad you liked the hummus:) It's great with celery too if you've overstepped your carbs on other things at any time. WOW, 20 years shorter if you are significantly overweight-heck, I'd sit up and take notice too. I'm sure my years of yo-yo dieting has taken a told on my life span, it sure has on the body, but I'm hoping with my turnaround, I've gained some of those years back.
PRAVDA, just make sure that Dannon yogurt is sugar free in addition to being fat free. I personally like to get plain yogurt and flavor it myself with either an extract, like lemon and some sweetener, or a tablespoon of pureed fruit, or fresh berries and some sweetener-definitely less preservatives!! Okay, what is 3 Kings Cake? They have the 3 Kings Parade here, but never heard of a cake. Well, whatever it is, congrats for not partaking in any! Oh yes, pictures speak volumes and there's nothing like a picture to show one how they really look. I look back on years of not even wanting to get in a photo, I missed out taking pics with the kids. I've never had a family photo, but now, I think it's something I will look into doing in the near future:)
SEF, I loved your way of thinking about motivation! Your words really hit home. You were right on my reason for lack of sleep, I was thinking about the weekend and reporting it all to you. I expect to see you if we all get together in NC!!!
BUSDEB, glad to see you are doing well with your eating. Crossing my fingers for you for WIW!! Hope things work out well with CAMI-keep us posted! I don't think we've decided about spouses or not coming in Oct. to NC, sure would put a damper on that naked masseurs that table dances!!! LOL!! Guess this is something we'll have to vote on.
CAT, sounds like you have some big projects planned for the house. Never heard of that flooring, is it something new?
QUILTER, you know how happy that makes me to see your post! I'm praying to pull you back for good. Guess I'll have to get to Paul and find a game plane;)
TREE, thanks for posting that info for the newbies. We all know about fitday.com, but many of the newbies haven't discovered it yet, so it's always good to remind, so thanks for doing that when I haven't:) I've never cooked whole wheatberries-how'd they come out? Have recipes using them, if ever you need one.
MEL, I bet you could do the entire marathon, but joining us at the half would be great. Start working on DH now, so it won't come as a big surprise. Hey, the Oct get together is this year, the WDW is next year, so he shouldn't complain, it's not like you will be seeing us twice in one year;) Yep, Michael got the weight bench, but haven't even had time to try it-one day, I will:) Congrats on those pants, I bet that was a big surprise to get into them-you've sure come a long way!!!!
SUGAR, glad to see you were able to figure out my directions on the post:) Thanks for posting your BIO on the BIO BOARD. It's always nice to learn more about our board members! Sounds like you had a nice time with the girls, and fish on the menu definitely makes it easier to stay OP. CONGRATS on another pound loss, always a nice thing to see on the scale, vs the alternative. Wish I had a group of SB people close to me to have a support group to meet with in person, it would be great. I envy you. BUT, I must say, the support of the gals on this board, as you can well see, is phenominal and this to me is just as good as being there face-to-face each week, well almost, as I wish the gals on this board all lived closer so we could do a weekly get together! Whatever the women who come to the meetings do as far as eating OP is better than not doing anything, that's for sure. I'm sure, without you, most of them wouldn't follow any kind of plan, so you are helping them in more ways than one. Yes, you can get the agave at NUTRITION S'MART in Pembroke Pines, you can all them and order a case before Wed and it will come in on Friday. Okay, my geography stinks, how far is Boynton Beach from Broward???? There is a WHOLE FOODS in Coral Springs that should have it, off Atlantic Avenue, but it may cost a little more, cents, not much. Let me know if want the phone number for NS.
Well, I'm pooped, so to bed I must go. I'll check in with you all tomorrow morning. Hoping to get my walk in early, but it's suppose to be down in the low 40's and I don't do too well outside when it's THAT cold, so may wait until it warms up a tad to go out, we'll see in the AM.
Nite!

You WDW marathon ladies sure had a great time. The idea of a get together sounds wonderful. I'd probably have a better chance of getting to the beach in October than Orlando in January. Deb, keep us posted on the plans.
The weather is typical Texas. We were at 14 degrees last Thursday morning and are supposed to reach 71 tomorrow! I love and hate it. Just don't know what to keep in the closet and what to put up for the season. And I do like snow once in a while. But that can come at the end of the month because we don't have a break until the second week of March after MLK Day.
Frog: Congratulations on your success. I admire you for having the discipline to train and run that distance. A friend of ours recently ran a marathon in Australia and that completed her goal of running on every continent. I can't imagine!
Cat: I'm also one of those exercise-motivatedly challenged people. I have a great elliptical/bike combo machine right here behind my love seat and still can't get my butt off the couch and on the machine. Maybe if we all started posting on the exercise board afterwards, we could get each other going.
It was back to the grind of school today, although we won't have students until thursday. The title of my post says it all about the day back after a two week break.
The scales are not my friend this week. I'm up two pounds but I think they're just keeping me humble. This happened right after Thanksgiving and my patience won out so I keep telling myself that it will again.
My DH gave me a Palm Pilot for Christmas so I'm able to keep a food journal much more easily. Now I just have to remember to get it out of my purse and input the food as soon as I eat it. I know I have to start exercising daily. I want to lose this weight by June so I will look good on our vacation:D
Well, now that I'm a working woman again, it's time to hit the hay.
Have a Terrific Tuesday everybody!
Rosalie

Evening all
Frog - Congrats on finishing the race. Too bad that the weather didn't stay good for you. You should be very proud of your achievement. Hope you had a safe trip home and got dried out and rested. How are the tootsies?
Sounds like you all had a truly wonderful get-together and all that food sounds delicious. I'm looking forward to seeing lots of pics.
Deb - I made the Almond Granola on the weekend. Turned out real good - I was munching it all day yesterday. I need to put a padlock on the container. I actually made two batches, the first one per your recipe with the agave. As I am almost to the end of my agave and can't find any more in the store I thought I would experiment so I made another batch using apple juice in place of the agave. It turned out great also, even though it was less sweet than the one with the agave.
Quilter - Hi - it's good to hear from you. Are you thinking of getting back on the wagon again? I always looked forward to reading your posts.
This has to be brief as I have to hit the sack soon as I have to get up early for work tomorrow. Will have a busy day as I will be going out right after dinner to badminton. Played a few games this evening too. The board's so busy to-day it has taken me a long time to read all the posts. I enjoyed reading the descriptions of the fabulous weekend. I've had a good day - stayed op. Made spaghetti sauce for dinner to-day - ds had ww spaghetti but I had mine on spaghetti squash. Just have to keep those starchy carbs down. Was really good at work to-day. Someone opened another box of cookies and I didn't even eat one.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Really busy here today!
I finished doing Day 1 of BFL--upper body workout. Ooch, ouch. My back and shoulder muscles are sore and I finished about 3 hours ago. I'm actually up waiting for the ibuprofin to kick in.
Some of you were looking for motivation to keep exercising. With my experience, I have found that when I am exercising almost every day, that I'm not eating as much or have the cravings for the junk food that I get when I've not been exercising. So exercising makes it easier to stay OP, staying OP means weight and/or inches lost. Hope this helps a little.
Debelli Thanks for the reminder on the grape juice. I was thinking of substitutes for the "sweet" and just remembered grape juice from some other recipes. Didn't even think if it was legal or not. Would apple juice concentrate be better?
Nomore WELCOME! Congrats on the pound down. Glad you could stay OP at the restaurant.
Mel I'll email you with more details, but I'm sure feeling the workout now:dizzy: But I think I'll try to do the workouts earlier in the day, so I can sleep at night!
Quilter Nice to meet ya! I've been here since September. Please don't feel like you have to stay away just because other life issues take presidence(sp?--it's late) over SB. You can share your SB wisdom with newcomers and we can try to give you support or an ear with whatever, not just SB. Hope you stay around.
Crickett WTG on the 14 gone! How long are you going away for? Sounds like a very interesting and very rewarding trip.
Ok, that's it for me. Eyes are drooping and the ibuprofin seems to have helped the muscle aches. So off to beddy bye I go.
Nite nite.

Just another quick post because its 7 a.m and i had to work last night till 1:00 a.m waaaaa:dizzy: can't wait to get everyone off and then walk then rest! Probably won't sleep cuz ya know how long kindergarteners go to school! LOL
Yesterday was a good day made my pita pizza for lunck-feels like i am getting back with the S.B's I was probably sugarfree yesterday! woooooooo hoooo!!! Today I hope will be good too. Nothing really planned for the next few weeks to get in my way! I guess thats really the only tip i have is to have a "game plan" for when you do go out or to someones house or church or so on..... I have read things and "they" have said---drink lots of water before you go-eat a salada before you go-wear your tightest pants and a cute belt so you don't have much room! I say do what you want!!! LOL NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Just stay on program and if you overeat -leagally it can be fixed by maybe an extra day of excersise or just cutting back the next day RIGHT! why should we suffer-even though food should not be the only way we have a good time its been said here time and time again to enjoy the company your with!!!!! Hope thats a "tip"!!!!
Deb-the kids DO NOT have to make up the time at the end-sounds good though! I asked someone if there was extended day for teen agers the other day!!!!! LOL I have those kids who come home and don't really go to friends and so on! Its nice but sometimes i would like to get rid of the bigger ones!!! MY daughter didn't have school and that was like old times! She is the one that wanted to go!!! As far as the "delay" they do that so they don't miss the whole day and have to make it up in the summer!
Zanne- glad u liked the site! Yeah on day one :) very proud of you! I hope you take pictures (not in undies though!) and measurements!
Rosalie- hope batmitton was fun!
Frog-WOOOO HOOOOOO yeah for you! take a pic of the medal!!! PLease! you must feel soooooo good and an inspiration for us all!
Jred- you can get back with us! palm pilot sounds cool!
Busdeb-HI
Quilter---- ;) how are you?????? Glad you said hi!
Nomoresugar- Sounds like you had a great time with your friends. Keep up the great work with Sugarbusters!!! Its nice to have others with you that are trying to get healthy too!

Good Tuesday Morning All:wave:
Well, it's a wee bit too cold for me to tackle the daily walk/jog at this time, only 40 degrees out there and windy like a hurricane, so I figured I'd come post now and jog later when it warms up a tad bit.
Scale has inched it's way back down another pound, another thing to motivate me to journal and drink my water and stay in line. I was getting pist seeing the scale staying up even though I knew it would go back down again, so now I'm happier to see the lower end of my cushion:D
This weeks MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY was a good one, I think. I am printing this one out and sticking it on the fridge. It's worth reading over and over again. I though it was one of the best MM messages to date!
I forgot to mention FROG is still in Orlando vacationing and is leaving Thursday to return home. I know she was going to try to access getting on a computer while away, but we may have to wait until she returns and settles back in.
JRED, it would be wonderful if you could make the Oct. get together, definitely would be more relaxing and fun, moreso than the work of a marathon-but I'm going to try to do both. We were discussing the NC get together-the place sleeps 36 and has a huge kitchen-can you just imagine the SB LEGAL FOOD we could all prepare!! It will definitely be something you won't wanna miss coming to in Oct.! Is there a program for the palm pilot for journaling. I've never used one, so not sure how they function.
ROSALIE, sounds like you have the same disease as I do when it comes to portion control and the granola! Glad you liked the recipe, it's so easy and delicious. Really works those jaws when you eat it, eh? Hey, you know that I can always ship some agave up to you if need be, just let me know! Wish Eli's sister would make a trip down here, then I could send it back with her-if that comes around any time in the near future and the agave is still available, it would be a good thing to do!
ZANNE, I too believe that exercise helps curb the appetite. Right now, I'm hungry and usually I don't get hungry until I return from my walks! Any fruit concentrate is more concentrated in sugars, look at the grams of sugar in a serving of whatever you are using-scarey! It also depends of the amount you use and the serving size. If it falls under the 3gram rule, then I guess it would be okay, but personally, I haven't used any of that stuff, at least that I can remember.
RHROO, that's great you had a SB LEGAL day yesterday! Hope you do as well today:)
Please remember TONIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST Hope to see you all there!!!
Also, can't forget to remind you that TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!!!! I wish you all luck on the scale!!!
Well, gotta go yell at Lauren once again to get up and in the shower. Where Michael never has a problem waking up (actually, he didn't sleep all night, had so much homework, he's going to be a zombie at school today), Lauren LOVES to sleep, and sleep, and sleep! Takes forever to get her up!!!!
Have a great day!

GREETINGS!!! DARN COLD HERE!! Had to put the sheets on the plants again last night. This is Florida – we’re not supposed to have this kind of cold weather. FROG and DH will be here in O-Town playing around all week. I hope it warms up so they can ride the water rides if they go to the theme parks. FROG probably won’t be on the board until they get home. I did print out the posts from Friday last week until today to take to the hotel for her to see all the well wishes and greetings from everyone. I know I wouldn’t be able to catch up after a week of being off the board and you all have said such kind words that it would do her heart good to read them. Meister and I are hoping to catch up with them this week for lunch or dinner while they are still in town. I can’t tell you how wonderfully sweet and fun they are! Like DEBBIE I really wish all of us on the board lived closer to each other.
I’m still on a high from this week-end! You’d have thought I ran the marathon with all the energy and motivation I have. I think it’s from being around all these SUPER WOMEN! I’ve started on my plan for training for the half marathon and I’ll be alternating weight training days with walking days. My first goal is to just get faster at walking the 3.5 mile loop around our neighborhood and then I’ll start adding distance. On Saturdays I’ll start adding distance. OMG, now I’ve posted it! I’m completely accountable to you all for my training.
We’re STILL eating leftovers from the week-end! Today I brought some MORE of the pasta ZSU ZSU made. It’s sooo good! For a variation I’ve brought some of the Rotel Dip to put on top of it.
ZANNE and MELERIS – BFL sounds interesting and very intense. Don’t know that I’m ready for anything like that. Thanks for keeping us posted on your experiences with it. I think I’m going to have my hands full training for the half marathon next year at WDW with DEBBIE and everyone else who can make it. I hope you’ll be in that group!
MELIRIS – I WILL NOT even think about the full marathon! The HALF will be challenging enough for this big ole butt. PLEASE join us! It’s soooo much fun to spectate, but to PARTICIPATE --- I can hardly wait! FROGGIE is so inspirational – how could we NOT be motivated? CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LOW!!! How thrilling for you!! Size 6 from a size 16?!?!? AMAZING!! You’ll be breathing in those 6’s in no time!
RHOO Soo glad to see you!! I know as a kid we liked the snow days way more than my parents did! I’m going to check out that link, too. Not interested in BFL, but always interested in hearing from people who have achieved weight loss goals. I think our “My Story” thread will be very well read.
DEBBIE – WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! WAY TO GO ON YOUR 44:20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know that Vince has to read all the posts since meeting everyone. I think he may be a lurker for a while. He says CONGRATS!! And WOW!! On your time!! Very Impressive!! He said that taking the time off to rest is very important and good. He said it’s more common in cycling for riders to take proper rests between work-outs to get the most distance and best time out of their rides, but that it benefits everyone. You know I don’t mind those rests – the problem is I rest more than work-out. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THIS WEEK-END!!! For bringing the tons of goodies, the falafal mix, tahini, WW pitas, t-shirts – for taking all the pictures – for just being YOU! And for getting to be around you so much this week-end. It truly was a joy! You said I’d be prepared to RUN with y’all next year????? You’re VERY mistaken! I’ll be WALKING the half marathon next year. I expect you JOGGERS/RUNNERS will have to wait for me at the finish line with your medals around your necks!
BIGKNIGHTSMOMMA Thank you for the kind words!! Looking forward to seeing you more since you and ZSU ZSU are so close! We may have to become avid UCF Football fans now that we have a Knight to root for!
VIV Good to see you! Looking forward to hearing how wonderful the “new” house is. I’ll be checking out that site you posted, too.
JMUIR – Hope you’re feeling better soon!
TV Don’t be fooled, Debbie didn’t drink water on Sunday because she didn’t want to have to use a PORT-A-POTTY!!
TREE CONGRATULATIONS on the new job!!!! SOOO GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK! It’s so important to ljike what we do and who we do it with since we’re there almost all day. Glad you’ll be moving to a place where they’ll appreciate how wonderful you are.
NANCE-MEISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUDDY –O-PAL-O-MINE! WELCOME BACK!! Guess we’re climbing back on that wagon together. Tell BOB to turn the radio up, I really like this song.
NOMORESUGAR[b] Welcome!! You’re definitely in the right place for support and answers.
[b]CRICKETT Wow! 14 lbs. Even through the holdiays?!? You have my respect!! Can’t wait to hear about your trip. I’m sure that if you’ve been able to make it through the holidays you‘ll be able to make it under any situation!
SHEANN – Here’s your goal for next year – HALF MARATHON at WDW with the SB GANG! That’s ½ way to a full marathon before you turn 50! THEN in 2 years you can make the FULL MARATHON!
PRAVADA WELCOME! You resisted 3 Kings Cake? WAY TO GO!! Yes, it is amazing how many things have sugar in them. Just reading labels can get depressing at first, but there are so many things we CAN eat that the disappointment is only temporary. I, too, recommend using FitDay and trying some new recipes to find the ones that you like best and work best with your schedule. It looks like you aren’t eating enough, but I don’t know how much you weigh. Do you know how many calories you normally eat and what percentage of fat, carb, protein it is for the day? That might help us give you more pertinent information.
SEF I just love your posts! You always put things in perspective. Can’t wait to meet you one day soon, I hope! Please put October and/or January in your “to do” list!
BUSDEB – I hope to get to meet you in person, too! I think so highly of everyone who posts on here that when I meet them in person they always exceed my expectations so much that I can’t wait to meet the next person! Please put October and/or January in your “to do” list, too!
CATLOVER The floor sounds neat! I’m going to have to look up that kind of flooring. I want to get that Pergo wood flooring for our living room one day. I like my carpet, so the bedrooms will have to be carpeted, but I wouldn’t mind wood in the “common rooms”.
QUILTER – BIG HUGS FOR YOU!!!! I’ve been away more than I’ve been here, meeself, but BOB is still driving the wagon and there’s always room for one more! Glad to see you back! FROG and DH were awesome!! You would be inspired exponentially to see them in person. Start training with me and we can cross the half marathon finish line together!
MARIE I hope you’re much further away from the 200 lb. mark than I am at this point! I’m going to have to be perfect to catch up with you, but after seeing FROG and getting to spend so much time with all the other wonderful gals on this board I KNOW I can certainly be better than I was! I hope you get to make it down this way for one of our meetings! I’d love to spend a HALF MARATHON getting to know you better!
 Have a Great Day! Greetings to all I didn't get to!

WIW- no change from last week
I dont think I am eating enough , which has prompted me to use Fitday again. I need help in figuring out how much fat ,carbs and protein I am allowed a day. I weigh 180 lbs.
Deb has figured this out in the past, and I am embarrassed to have to ask her again, so someone please help me.

Hey!
It is so great to read about the weekend in Orlando--I'm happy for everyone (but jealous for me!). I wish I could have been there.
Frog--Renee and Bill--Congrats on finishing the race--and with a new time too. WooooHoooo! I hope you have fun in O town and that your feet stop hurting soon!
I'm so glad old SB board members and new members got to meet this weekend--and the food sounds yummy. I haven't checked the recipe boards yet--but we will see recipies won't we?
I have to keep this short. I'm heading to the hospital in an hour for and MRI. I woke up with a sore neck last week and now the Dr thinks it might be a hearneated disk. Ick. Will let you know more when I get the results back on Thursday.
I'll try to post a little later. I'm doing well staying on program--so hopefully will be posting some losses soon!

Hello everybody!!!
Wow – the board is active this week, guess we are all getting back into the swing of things now!!
I’m proud today because I got all of my water in yesterday and I even exercised for about 20 minutes last night!! I’m trying to stay motivated even through TOM, which is due to visit at any moment.
Is anyone else having a hard time with getting back to a 5 day work week this week??? After 2 short weeks, 5 days seems like an eternity!!
Mel – Hip Hip Hooray for you on the 141 and squeezing into the size 6 jeans – that’s TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deb – Great job on the newest best jog time – you are forever breaking your own records! Water??? BTW a little bird said that you didn’t drink on Sunday because of a potty availability issue, LOL! For shame…… I don’t blame you one bit!
Sol – or should I call you little birdie, ha ha! That is a great one you told on Deb. I’m gonna let her off the hook this time because I don’t like those portables either – YUCK!
Tree – Sounds like you made a good choice in changing jobs when you did! Glad things are looking up for you!
Nomoresugar – WELCOME!
Crickett – Great job on the 14 lbs. I just hit the 15 lb mark myself a few weeks ago (before the holidays, oops).
Pravada – WAY TO GO on resisting temptation!!! It can be really hard sometimes, but don’t you feel so much better knowing that you were able to overcome the urge?!?!?!
Sef – Your “HIDEHO” always puts a smile on my face! Good idea on using the gift certificates as self rewards.
Cat – Sounds like we are anticipating some of the same projects. I want to re-do my bedroom and bathroom COMPLETELY and make some changes in my 4 yr old DS’s room.
Bus – Do you go to B-ham to hit the mall or H-ville? I found some good buys too. Sounds like you have done well so I’m sure WIW will be good for you!
Zanne – Thanks for the motivation on exercise – I need all of that I can get!!!
Rhoo – get some sleep before you conk out!!!
Fillise – have you thawed out yet?? I didn’t see a flake up here until this past Sunday and it melted right away…… Good luck on the MRI – hope it turns out to be something easy to treat!
Hello to all I missed – Gotta run

Solshine-
I do not know how many calories I am getting each day. How do I figure that out? I have not a clue about any of this. I am so new to this concept, I am not even sure if I am doing anything right. I have cut out obvious sugars, and carbs, but other than that, I am not sure what else to do.
Everything I read has sugar in it, of some kind.
I know that protein is usually safe as long as it is LF or FF.
I am trying to stay with WW or whole grain breads, crackers.
I went to Fitday.com, not too sure how to read that chart either. I weight 262. I am 5'3. I am medium build, not too small frame. I hope that helps you get a picture of me. I would like any advise or help on this. I also have PCOS
Thanks for all the help you guys have given so far on this issue.

Well, I've made it to Tuesday. TVthatsMe , I agree that it is hard to get back to a 5 day week. My days are all screwed up, I had a hard time remembering what day it was this morning.
For dinner last night, I had sloppy joes on triscuits. The sauce can said it had some sugar in it, but it didn't seem too high. Hope it was okay.
I had my two cups of green tea and couple glasses of water (less than I should, I know). Something must have been working though because I was visiting the loo like a mad woman yesterday. Also had more energy when I got home and went on a cleaning tear. My husband looked at me like I had gone insane (needless to say, I'm not a cleaner).
Anyway, hope everyone has a great Tuesday and is on track for a good WIW.
Talk at ya later.

HiedieHo All!
I'd like to say I will never cheat again! Has anyone else found it hard to get back on plan? I'm doing it but it's a fight with myself!! It's harder than when I first decided on this woe! I know it's mind-set, mind over matter....if I don't mind-it DOES matter!
Thought I'd get in a post now. I have Women's Association Bible Study this afternoon. Have some spaghetti sauce in freezer, homemade, SB legal so will have that for supper. Throw it in crock pot to thaw. Changed mind last night and baked salmon instead of poaching it, really goood.
BUS - What's Dixie's problem? Apparently you can ride her. Maybe she's not an easy ride?
CAT - You should have my son! He seems to have an innate talent for selecting colors or deciding what walls should have what color. Whenever they get into a painting frenzy we tease him about being an interior decorator, not a manly "career" as far as he's concerned. He's happiest when there's grease and oil involved. yet he hates to crack an egg because the white is UGH! Go figure! So far his choices have worked out. DIL has ideas too, but if she's indecisive ds makes the choice.
QUILT - You're not oldy/moldy!! You have enthusiasm and humor which you have always brought to the Board. I know I owe you a note, but don't feel bad you are in good company!! I am starting to get reprimands from my correspondents that I owe letters to. I just got behind over the holidays and have to catch up.
TREE - Nice sample menu for newbies, reminder for us "Oldbies"! When I left job to move with ds, the last day everyone came to work wearing a hat! On dress down Fridays I would design a hat with a theme - Nat'l Sewing Month, Cheesehead for GreenBay Packers game, a roof with Santa going down the chimney; staff thought they would honor me with their hats! Don't uou know I had a pancreas attack and had to miss the party! I was so disappointed. but too sick to care at the time.
MEL - Impressed by size 6. I had same experience with the size 18, got them on just couldn't sit! Thwey're my goal!! We will make it!!
SUGAR - I was brought up in Collingwood Park. It is 7 mi. from Asbury Park and 10 mi. from Freehold, I went to Mansquan H.S. and Monmouth University in Long Branch, only it was a Junior College then! Many people hear Collingwood Park and not listening think Collingswood which is near Camden.
DEB - You obviously don't live in the real south! King Cakes come out on the Twelfth Day. Starts the Mardi Gras season. Many Krewes choose their king and queen by the eating of the cake to see who gets the little baby figurine that is baked in it. They are sort of like a citron struedel, with white icing that is sectioned off with green, yellow and purple sugar sprinkled on.....a SB nightmare! In six weeks one bakery here feels they will sell thousands of the cakes!
JRED - Kids don't exactly rejoice about the return to school either! So many people think teachers just work the school hours, forgetting about lesson plans, after school activities, etc. Know how hard teachers work! Have several friends who teach.
ROSALIE - I see that name and think of Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald (the youngsters on this Board are saying "Who?")
See, when we set our minds we can resist cookies!!
ZANNE - I know when I was walking, that if I had to miss for some reason it was a part of my day missing! I know you're right!
RHROO - You're right too about needing a game plan! I've learned to take things to potluck dinners that I can have whether others will eat it or not!
About school delays, I know in PA they would have school for a couple of hours just so they could get state funds, if school wasn't in session a certain length of time they would have to make up day. Sometimes they would have school even though it was starting to snow and prediction was bad, families that lived on back roads just would not send their kids.
I don't have any definite plans for gift certificates, other than some new Just My Size panties. I've already gone down 4 sizes! Will just buy what I need as I go along. Someday a pair of slacks or a skirt with a real fitted waitband!!
SOL - We have had a couple of hard freezes here and have been covering plants too. It's amazing though, how the pansies stand up to the frost!
In October I hope to be able to make a trip back home. I do get homesick now and then. I would like to see my old friends. After doing that will never be able to afford January. I will just have to live vicariously through all your reports!
CAT - Never be embarrassed to ask a question!! The only dumb question is the one not asked!! I don't know how to figure out those proportions either, I just eat! As you can tell or I wouldn't have to be here!!
FILLISE - Please let us know the results of MRI. Hope it is a open machine. I have had MRIs and they can be a little intimidating. Once I get settled though it's okay, I just feel a little panicky at first. Did you do something that might have caused a herniated disk or did it just happen?
Well I'd better go get that sauce out of the freezer or I will have to think of something else for supper that might include work!!!
Hope to make chat tonight, it has been a while!
Take care. sef

Oh my is it cold!:( You would think, having been raised in the north that I would be used to cold weather - but I have never liked being cold! Now you northern gals may not think 40-55 is cold - but we here in south Florida sure aren't used to it. I started today with hot cereal - the Mix Ahead Oatmeal. I don't recall which of the many folders I got the recipe from - if you want it, let me know and I will post it!
Debby - I lived in Coral Springs for 28 years! Moved there when there was one traffic light and a small Publix - a very very small Publix. I will check out the Whole Foods when I am next there visiting the son, dil and grandkids! I did see a post somewhere where GNC could get Agave syrup and will try that up here. Boynton Beach is north of Delray which is north of Boca! I live right between the turnpike and 95 - and can get to Coral Springs via Tpk in 25-30 minutes.
The Sugarbusters Saturday morning support group is listed on our bulletin board and in house tv station and I cannot tell you how many ask me about this WOE. And now that I am back into my size 10 clothes (and will get into the 8's again!), the difference is showing and I think more and more will try this.
I cannot thank you all enough for the warm welcome! I think those of us who have been doing SB for a long time will agree with me when I say to the new gals that it is more what you can eat than what you cannot. I am never hungry and find that I really have no desire to eat cookies or cake. While I do miss a freshly baked country bread - I can do without it. If you concentrate on what you are allowed to eat and not think about the "forbidden foods' - this is soooo easy to do!

Hey All:wave:
Well, I finally got my arse out and did my 4.5 miles, but didn't get out til about 1pm! Then I had wished I would of gone earlier, thought it was colder out there-and once I started my jogs, it warmed up pretty darned quick and I was a sweatin! I have a NEW SECOND BEST TIME OF 45:00:spin: Not as good as yesterday, but still a great time!!! Needless to say, I'm thrilled!!
My Dad called me this morning to tell me he saw an article about the WDW Marathon in the newspaper and he said they printed all 18,500 of the runners names in it! I didn't ask him which newspaper it was, he goes to the library, so it may be the Miami Herald, may not. I asked him to get a copy for me so I could get it to FROG if she didn't see it.
AND, Eli met with his boss yesterday and told him about the WDW Marathon. He said his boss was suprised Starbucks people weren't in it and that he wanted Eli to call this other guy who would be the person to go through so STARBUCKS would sponsor people for next year, so maybe we can all be TEAM STARBUCKS!!!!!! That would be so cool! I'll let you know what, if anything arises from this call Eli made to the guy.
Guess what??? One week and my kitchen, dining room and family room are still clean!!:spin: Not counting my living room, that's always clean! Kids are even helping me a bit more to keep it tidy.
SOL, guess your house must still look like it has 3 dead bodies laying in the front lawn! LOL!!! Yes, you have now put it in print that you are going to be in the marathon, so no turning back now! I guess with VINCE reading the board, I don't have to call and tell him you've COMMITTED to doing it next year;) (BTW, tell him I said thanks for the congrats!). I'm sure he'll even help you train. Who knows if you will walk or jog the length, look at me, I only started to incorporate little bouts of jogging in my walking routine just this past May, so you may just surprise yourself! You are more than welcome for everything, the least I could do! You'll have to let me know when you make the falafels and how you like that mix. I hope you and/or GATOR get to see FROG & BILL before they head back to NC-definitely keep us informed if you get to see them, and please, give her a big ol hug for me!!! BTW, she LOVED the slippers!!! And they were the right size!!!! Hey, are you ratting on me????????? Okay, after you exited with and "ick" and telling me there was no paper in the port-a-potty, could you even blame me???? I know, I was bad with the water, but I made up for some of it yesterday;)
CAT, LOL, it's only Tuesday, hop back on the scale tomorrow!!! You can ask me to help figure things out for you again, I don't mind, just e-mail me the info, current weight and goal weight, that's all I need:)
FILLISE, I know you'd of loved to of joined us, but at least you know when we talk about FROG, what we are saying is so true, since you too have had the pleasure of meeting her-isn't she a trip!?! As for the recipes, I know as far as I'm concerned, all but the CHEESECAKE RECIPE is on there, and that will be added by Thursday;) Good luck with the MRI, do make sure you let us know what the results are when you get them on Thursday, I'll pray it's nothing serious!
TV, yes, guilty as charged with the water, not just on Sunday, but for the entire weekend. I did take an entire bottle with me but didn't take a sip-no way was I going in those port-a-potties, no TP, no handwashing-UGH!!!!!!!!! No, I nicely held it in til we could make a decent pit stop. Did lots better yesterday and going to drink a bottle now, as I type out this post. Thanks for keeping tabs on me:)
PRAVDA, the only way you are going to know how many calories you are taking in is either logging your intake on a site like www.fitday.com, or doing a paper journal. Though, some people like combinig SB with using the WW points, or the Richard Simmons Deal-A-Meal cards, or his newer window thingie, so they don't have to count calories, but still, this gives a good idea. SB doesn't say to do this, but personally, I do feel it's important. Many people haven't a clue how much their caloric intake is and eating too little is just as bad as eating too much. If your intake is too little, your metabolism is going to slow down and you eventually will stop losing. For instance, if your intake is 1000 calories, and you should be taking in about 1500 calories, your in a deficit of 500 calories. You body may lower your metabolism to get by on 800 calories, banking the extra and storing it as fat. I eat approx. 1400 calories a day, sometimes more. If you wanted to stay your current weight, to stay at that weight you'd be taking in approx. 3145 calories, taking in that you are moderately active. Most so-called "experts" agree not to lower that number more than 500-700 calories, so even if you went with an average of 600 calories, your intake should not be lower than say 2550, which is a lot of calories. You would lose weight eating that much. As the scale goes down, you got down calorically, little by little. Now, say you were eating 3145 calories and now you are eating 1000, you've cut your caloric intake by 2/3, over 2000 calories less and your body would probably go into starvation mode. Anyhow, not trying to confuse you, or make it sound hard, because it's not, and not everyone does this, this is just how I do it. I can figure out, if you want the total grams of fat, carbs & proteins if you want.
JMUIR, I know that running to the potty feeling you had yesterday, I had the same feelings on Saturday. I was making pit stops at all the Turnpike Plazas, as soon as I got back in the car and on the road, I had to go again! Had some tea this morning, not use to caffeine and drinking anything much but water and it too seemed to go right through me!
SEF, can I get that in writing????? Exactly what you said about cheating and trying to get back OP is exactly the reason I'm so deathly afraid of doing that. I know how I am and it would be so hard for me to get back OP if I did a major cheat. I'm sure you'll be back OP 100% soon-right??? Okay, now that you explained this cake, what the heck are Krewes? And isn't anyone afraid of choking on this little baby figurine??? That would be just my luck, trying to cheat on a piece of that cake and choking on a baby!!! LOL!!
SUGAR, (hope you don't mind me shortening your name), I agree, it's too cool for me down here as well. So, really, you aren't far at all from Miami. My Aunt-in-Law's mother lives in Delray, so that area I do know somewhat. I've never seen a GNC carry agave, so I'm surprised to see they'd be able to order some-worth a try to see if they can get it for you as well, but def. find out the price first. Where I buy mine it's $2.59 a bottle and if you buy a case, they'll give you another 10% off. If you want, e-mail me your snail mail addy and I'll send you some samples, it's a little less sweet than the one I get from the HFS, but at least you can see what it tastes like. I would call the WHOLE FOODS off Atlantic and see if they stock it, though I'd be surprised if they didn't, as the other 2 stores I've been in of theirs does carry it. You can call them and just ask them to hold some bottles for you, or order a case. They're up to $2.79 a bottle there. I totally agree with what you said about not dwelling on what you can't eat, and look at all you can. Hey, you can always have that fresh made bread, that is, if you like to bake!!
Okay, time for me to hit the showers before I have to go get the kids.
See you all later at chat!!!!!

Cat really had me confused this morning when I saw her WIW post- I actually had to go look at a calendar to see what I did for the last few days to make sure it was Tuesday. This has been the first week I could figure out which day it was, so I didn't want to get lost already! Felt like early dementia.
Well I definitely spoke too soon about the BFL Upper Body workout not being challenging enough- boy are my triceps sore today! Good thing I don't have a tennis game til Thursday, cause I'd have to toss the ball over the net to serve!
Pravda- listen to the master! (Deb). Everytime I've stopped losing, it's because I'm starving myself. Also how I gained so much weight to start with. YEARS of 700 calorie diets and long runs put me in a permanent state of starvation so that when I did eat "normally" my body tucked it away and hoarded that fat for all it was worth just in case another famine might come along! Now I eat way more than I used to when "dieting" and for the first time ever, feel I can keep it off without impossible starvation or insane workouts. (though that's a pretty subjective statement).
Sef- Maybe I missed it, but still don't have an answer on what is Little Christmas? Totally agree on the cheating and getting back OP. I didn't do much illegal food cheating, but had way too much legal stuff and more fatty foods than I should have (ILOVE cheese!). It's been tough trying to get portions back to normal and avoid a dip in the triscuits and cheddar every time I walk through the kitchen.
Deb- Many camping and backpacking trips taught me 1) always carry toilet paper; 2) then add the water if there is room left in your pack. PRIORITIES! TEAM STARBUCKS? sign me up!
Sugar- (great nickname:lol:) I don't think I've welcomed you to the board. Sounds like you are a very sucessful SB mentor! You must feel good helping people who want to be helped with this WOL. I must have been asked about 30 times over the holidays what on earth I'd been doing to look so much better, but when I started talking about it, about 28 of them started to look panicked at the answers and insisted eating this way would just be impossible and they'd just go back to WW in January. I find WW impossible, plus you have to pay for it.
It's really cold here- about 5 inches of snow and ice yesterday- and yes SEF, we had a 2 hour delay so the school could count it as an "open" day for state funding. A couple of times last year they did a 2 hour delay, then sent the kids home right away. We have a very hilly neighborhood and our elementary bus driver would tell us at the bus stop to just not put the kids on because she didn't think the trip through the neighborhood twice was safe.
Sol- so nice to see your enthusiastic posts again! I hope you stay with us.
BTW, I ordered a case of agave from Frankferd Farms yesterday and the woman said "boy, we're sure getting a lot of case orders lately!" I just said oh, really? I've made the carob almond bars a few times, and as long as I freeze individually wrapped squares, I don't get myself into trouble.
Gotta go figure out whats for dinner,
mel

Evening All:wave:
Quick post before I make Lauren something to eat, and before CHAT AT 9:15PM EST!!!
MEL, I've been in the same boat with low fat diets in the past, not eating enough, seeing an initial loss and then stalling. I'd get pissed, start eating like I had been and gain it all back and then some. People tried to tell me that I wasn't eating enough and I just couldn't seem to fathom that concept that eating more was better-how I wish I'd listened, but at least I know this now:) Well, does it help that I usually carry some TP in the car, not to mention toilet seat covers in my purse-just hate to even see a dirty restroom-GROSS! Did you order anything else from FRANKFERD? I see RXFORWELLNESS is no longer carrying agave due to shortages they said. Hopefully, FRANKFERD will keep in in stock as long as possible. How was the shipping costs for you-shouldn't be too bad since you are near.
Hoping to see many of you in the chat room tonight. Here's the link to the chat rooms, just click on the SB ROOM and in you go!!!!

hi everyone,
sorry haven't posted until now. what a great day we had on saturday. I really enjoyed meeting everyone. It was very nice for sol to open up her house to us.I feel like I have known frog sol gator and deb for a long time instead of just meeting them. I like that when i am talking about my struggles with the weight that they really understand. going out to eat is good also because we all eat the same way. my friends dont get my eating and even though they are supportive they still try to tell me its okay if i treat myself which sometimes when iam weak it enables me to cheat. Well know i probably have not conveyed how much the weekend really meant to me but i have rough couple days. worked 16 hrs yesterday. back up at 530am then came home tonight to have a sreaming match with my 10 year old nephew who we are raising. he spent christmas break a week with each parent with no rules. so now there is **** to pay until he gets the picture that he is back to where there are rules. he plays this game when ot comes to homework if i act dumb enough then aunt sue will just tell me the answers WRONG ANSWER. anyway then had to girl scout meeting now of to pick up mother from airport she comes in at 1000pm then to bed to be up at 530am sorry you all just a little bit frustrated the worst part is the only thing i can pictur right now is a bowl of vanilla icecream with hot fudge whip cream cherries nuts and choclate chavings not good i think i will have a orange got to go maybe tomm. i will be in better frame of mind.

HiedieHo all
Just a quick one to say I enjoyed the chat. Been a while since I joined in.
DEB - A Krewe, as far as I can tell, is just another name for Club. To belong to a Krewe is not for the poor. A community club I belonged to would have a ball with King and Queen, would cost the queen about $1,500 for expenses. Krewes sponsor floats in parades, many have their own parades. If a Krewe is big enough a celeberty may ride as king/queen on their float. So when you see news reels of Mardi Gras parades, there can be two or three in N.O. on one day, they are all sponsored by a club.
MEL - You're right! In Milford it was only the townies who would show up at school, they had a level run in the snow!
Little Christmas is called a couple of things. It is Epithany or the Twelfth Day of Christmas. To many ethnic groups it is more important than Christmas Day and presents are exchanged then.
Ouch, I just realized what a full day I have tomorrow! Have to get up and make 10# mashed potatoes for church friends who had a death in the family, then do librarian work for choir, a slew of copies, and then choir practice tomorrow night. So might not be around here tomorrow!!!!
Take care all. sef

zsuzsuu - your " bowl of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge whip cream cherries nuts and chocolate shavings" can be changed to NSA vanilla ice cream w/ nutrasweet hot fudge syrup or Torani/DaVinci's SF chocolate syrup, cherries, nuts, and oops well, can't do the chocolate shavings! :s: Well, maybe the orange is better.... My standby for "gotta have goodies" was Debelli's peanut butter ball recipe mixed up and thinned with extra milk (not refrigerated) then used as a syrup over NSA vanilla ice cream. Debelli goes for the fresh carbolite ice cream. The frozen packaged ones aren't bad, you have to defrost them a little in the microwave to get the best taste though.
Re: Agave Nectar - I ordered mine in a 6lb pail from St. Pats of Texas, <www.stpats.com>, they are a reputable brewers supplier for wine/beer/mead. I ordered the Tequiza Agave Nectar (it's the light, they also have amber/dark) for $16 + 7.60 w/ shipping. No handling charges. You can order a min of 1lb to max of 13lb/pail, you pay $2.50/lb + $1 for pail. Texans pay sales tax.
Sef - too bad you missed your goodbye party. :( The hat thing is really cute, it sounds like you left a lot of good friends. I hope to keep in touch with my old co-workers, I've been badgering them for email addys.
The first no-no :nono: that happens when I get rushed, is I don't eat b'fast. It's too easy to skip, and yet eating b'fast is one of the best things you can do.
Mel - I think and almost sz 6 should count as a sz 6! The trick is to look for different brands (don't try Jordache jeans, they're typically 1 size smaller than they state- I found that out the hard way). Congrats to you!
jmuir - someone told me once - if you're dehydrated, and then drink a lot of water, you'll have to go to the loo a lot. But if you're well hydrated, that doesn't happen. I don't know how true that is. Most people in Arizona are dehydrated anyways. Besides, I believe I own the world's smallest bladder! My fav comment to guys who mention my incessant trips, is to say "well, you don't have a uterus sitting on top of YOUR bladder..." I know, I have a weird sense of humor, but that usually shuts them up
Pravda - have you seen a doctor about your PCOS? Did they check for insulin resistance? They tend to go together, and both make it hard to lose weight. There are medications that may help.
Have you read the SugarBuster book? It's a pretty easy read. You can find it at the library. They usually have just about every diet and fitness trend book imaginable there, and it's a lot cheaper! :D Otherwise, you can find it in bookstores, or ebay.com or half.com. I ordered a used one through ebay a couple of months ago.
Well, I better go. It's getting late. Forward ho!

Morning All!
This is gonna be quick. I'm still half asleep. But my eyes DID pop open  for a couple of secs earlier when I stepped on the scale. Down another pound! :D . So I'm at my lowest since I started this weight loss journey.
I did the cardio for BFL yesterday. It's a great workout and only about 23 minutes. They call it a 20 minute workout but they're not including cooldown. Then I did 100 crunches. Hmmm, surprised my abs don't hurt this morning! I haven't done crunches for years.
I asked DH to take my "before" pics for the BFL challenge. Then I remembered Debelli wanted me to post my other "before" pics (before I started to lose weight). Sorry Deb, I don't have a scanner. If I remember, maybe I'll give them to my brother for him to scan and send to me. I'm afraid the pics would make his scanner blow up:lol:
I am literally falling asleep in the chair here. I'm gonna go back to sleep and then have a few things to do--like buying new weights for today's workout! I don't know if I'll catch up with you all.
I do have to tell this story tho. I called FIL in West Palm Beach to ask him how the weather was (to bug him). He says "cold". I told him I knew cause "all the girls on the board" were saying how cold it was in Florida. I feel that I'm getting to know all of you and that "all the girls on the board" is in the same familiarity as " all the girls at work". I "see" you guys almost every day and think I understand how the WDW gals felt like they weren't really meeting someone for the first time. This isn't coming out very good in print, but I hope I'm conveying what I feel in my heart. YOU'RE ALL A VERY SPECIAL BUNCH OF PEOPLE!!! And I'm really glad we're all here for each other.
I really have to go back to sleep now! Have a great day everyone and I'll check back when I can.

IT'S WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!! If you'd like to put your stats on our JANUARY WEIGH IN BOARD just click on the link below:
YEAH- down another pound from my previous low several weeks ago. And it's held 3 days in a row!
175/140/130. I finally hit the 35 lb. mark, but looking in the mirror, there still seems to be a long way to go. Especially now that I see all those buff bods in the Body for Life Book. Course most of them seem to be 25-30 years old, at least the women. The don't show you the tummy stretch marks on the 47 yr old who had 3 kids! Now I wish I had some pictures of me at my highest weight, but honestly I hid behind cameras for 15 years. The few that are around, I've managed to perch a child or dog in front of me:lol: .
Tree: I don't think oxygen deprivation means they really fit- size 6 is still a major goal!
Zanne: I'm going to try to take my "before" pictures today using the self timer on the camera. Won't even let dh do it. I feel ridiculous enough as it is. Just haven't figured out what to wear. The last time I owned a 2 piece bathing suit was 1980! I may just go with undies and NEVER post them! Just for me.
ZSuzsu- hang in there! Sounds like the last few days were pretty aweful. As I guess you've realized, you never really "win" a screaming match with a 10 year old, cause even if you get your way, you still feel crappy. And it doesn't seem to bother them a bit. I've had plenty of those screaming matches, tho. and with an 11 year old. And a 12 year old. With dd it stopped by 14, so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel. My ds is 11 and I swear some days we just start screaming out of habit when we look at each other! Go for the orange! may dipped in 73% cocoa choc. melted or ground? Personally, those times are my triscuit and cream cheese crises.
gotta run,
mel

Good Wednesday Morning Everyone!
Still a wee bit chilly down here in SoFla-suppose to warm up a tad more than yesterday, and even more tomorrow. I can honestly say, when I was heavy, the a/c couldn't be cranked down enough to keep me cool, now, I'm totally opposite, I can't get warm! AND, a question for are you Northerers, how the heck do you get use to sitting on a cold toilet seat? I yelp every time I sit on the darned thing! AND, my hands must be cold, when I lift (yes, I have to lift) "the twins" into the holster, I cringe-my hands and my boobs are NOT the same temperature!!!! I give you guys so much credit-can't imagine going out in the snow and cold-you guys rock!!!!
Well, it's WIW and I have to say I couldn't be much happier. I'm not back to my all time low of 118.5, but I'm only 1/2 pound above it at 119!!! :spin: It's 5lbs less than last weeks dismal WIW!! I hope you all did well this week.
Had another good day yesterday with my food intake and journaling, though not so good on the water intake-will do better on that today, I"m hoping. I was pretty much on target with my fats, carbs & protein. For my caloric intake, 38.5 grams of fat were my target, I had 38, for carbs 142.5 target, I had 137.5 and for protein 86.5 grams, I had 91. Also was able to get in 22.5 grams of fiber, a little low, and a bit low on calcium at 690 grams. This is what works for me, keeping track this way, if I didn't do it like this, I surely would have not a clue what I was taking in and probably was one of the reasons I didn't have a loss, but a gain last month, as I didn't journal like I normally do-so for me, this makes a positive difference. My biggest problem, besides water intake, is veggie intake. I just hate cooking veggies! I don't mind eating them if someone else makes them, but when I make something, it tastes blah, no matter how hard I try. Guess with all the cookbooks I have I should try to find something that sounds good and make it. One reason I like the CRUSTLESS QUICHE recipe, it has veggies in it, spinach, mushrooms, onion and broccoli-maybe I should make that for dinner tonight!
Thanks to those of you who joined us in the chat room last night, always a pleasure to "talk" to you real time!!!!
ZSU, it was a pleasure meeting you as well this weekend, I'm already missing everyone and can't wait til we do this again! We all had a great time!! I'm sure we'll have a FL get together before the NC get together in Oct., too long to have time go by with having 4 hours or less apart from everyone. Good luck with your nephew, thank goodness he has you for stability, not to mention love. Keep us informed on how the pregnancy is progressing!!! Oh, don't forget to scan the pic when you get a chance-I know you're busy, no hurry, whenever you can:)
SEF, thanks for the KREWE explanation. Have you ever been on one of the floats? Maybe you and PIANOSTRIPPER can be on one one day:lol: Have a good day at church-10# of potatoes?? Not to mention all the other stuff you have to do today-where do you get the energy???
TREE, why not choc. shavings, if using like 70% cocoa bar? NOT that I'd suggest eating something like that-even though it could be SB LEGAL, it sounds so sinful! I think most people who live in warm climates are always dehydrated-guilty as charged! Never thought aboaut my pb balls being thinned down like that, will have to try that someday!
ZANNE, CONGRATS! Another pound down the drain/toilet! I'm sure someone on the board has a scanner and would be happy to put it on for you:) Always nice to put a name with a face. Try to remember to ask your brother. Your feelings are right on target with the gals and the board-I think most, if not all, feel the same way. It's why when you do get together and meet that you feel like you've known each other for years and have met before. Hoping one day you too will be able to meet up with some of us!!!
MEL, CONGRATS!!! Making milestones, girl! Just 10 more to go, you're almost there!!! Like you, I hid from the cameras and really only have one "fat pic" from when I was my heaviest (the one on the PHOTO BOARD), and I too wished I'd of had a pic of myself when I started SB at 194-but there too, I hid from the camera, plus, I didn't think I'd be as successful as I was at the beginning. Do have a picture that was taken in June, and hoping to get a copy of a pic that was taken at a wedding in April, only about 3 weeks after starting this WOE, but the one in June, my gosh, what a difference I can see!!!
Eli just informed me he was off until a meeting at 5pm-wish he would of told me sooner so I could plan for the kids to be p/u at school so we could spend more time UP IN BROWARD! Anyhow, going to hop in the shower and get ready, will put my walk off til later this afternoon. Hopefully, I'll still be inspired to get out there and go. My mouth is already watering for OLE OLE and CARBOLITE!!!!:s:
Please remember, TOMORROW IS RECIPE DAY so if you have a good SB LEGAL RECIPE you'd like to share with the board, please, try to post it tomorrow. I will finish typing up the directions for the CHEESECAKE RECIPE that I made and get that posted tonight or tomorrow.

Good Morning all.
I posted that I had a 1 pound loss this week on WIW board. I am very excited about this and almost did cartwheels in the bathroom this morning.
Dixie is going to a stable for a while to get some additional training. She is just being a little stupid and I need some help with her. She is still just a sweet big baby but wants her way a lot and I must say lately she has been getting it. But alas I will win!!!
I have a mandatory meeting this afternoon at 1 pm.....it is some big mystery and we are all nervous about what it could be about....will let you know.
Rhoo....if I were you I would have taken advantage of the situation and have given him some GOOD moves to look at ....but then that is just ME!!!! LOL Way to go on your loss ....keep it up ...you can do it.
DEB.....personally I enjoy the cooler weather......I could never stand SOFLA with all those warm muggy days. I guess you decided I got booted out of chat last night. AOL booted and my puter has been having problems so I gave up for the night and did some things around here ...then went to bed.
Tree...thanks for the website to order Agave...I am going to do that today.
Sef....I am with you hon......getting back on track has been much harder than the actual start up was. I am planning on doing things much different next Christmas so I won't be in this boat. Dixie will be fine....she just needs a little kinks worked out is all....thanks for asking.
TV.....good to see you girl....we still need to get together one day for a in person visit. Let me know what you think.
NOmoresugar.....welcome ...we are glad to have you join us.
Well I have to run feed the animals ....cya all soon.
Debbie :)

Hey Girlfreinds!
I'm reporting in because it's part of my therapy if you will to get on track for the New Year. I'm 232 this morning. My sister in No. Calif. emailed me this morning and is ready to be my partner in crime so we can tackle getting 50 lbs off by May. Didn't have a great day staying on plan yesterday, but today is a new day, and I always feel so mauch better when I BEHAVE. I didn't get a chance to catch up on the past days post yet...thought it more theraputic to share where I'm at right now.

Morning Ladies…
Well, I have to admit it, again, I sometimes just can’t keep up with all the posts on the thread. I love answering everyone, but I am going to have to accept that fact that I cannot be polite all the time like so many of you! Please forgive me, okay? Problems with being overachiever, etc., lol….
Another too cold day in Connecticut. Was in major depression yesterday about various things, but still managed 1.25 miles on TM. For some reason, am having mid-cycle TOM (BCP is weird sometimes) and MAJOR BLOATING! Visited the loo a lot during the night and feel somewhat better, but still staying away from the scale. I am so mad at myself for having to relose these pounds. I really need to make a better effort during the holidays next year.
TRY THE BBQ SAUCE DEB POSTED ON THE RECIPE SITE! Made it last night on ribs and it was wonderful! I double the recipe and went through a whole bottle of agave, so I need to restock. Yum. More hockey tonite, tomorrow night, Friday,. Sat and Sun, so I better get my menu act together if I want to keep my sanity. LOL, what sanity?
Fillise – Hope your pains get better. I went through a week of back pain just now and it’s not fun.
MEL – size 6 jeans – excellent! Have you ever tried Gap Reverse Fit jeans? They are great – the only jeans I buy now, except they only come in blue or black so it’s kinda boring – wish they’d make a taupe-y color or something. Give them a try, promise you’ll like them – they’re cut very flatteringly. My size 8s are a true sign of whether I need to step up the plan – and right now they’re screaming at me! I swear, we need to email each other about the 11 yo DS. I feel just like you – sometimes I just need to look at him and want to scream! This kid is great – but what is the deal with the goofiness? He’s straight A, plays hockey, has a band (he plays guitar), a million friends….but he can be so friggin annoying! Thank goodness my 7 yo is still adorable (most of the time). Tell me about your DS!
Sef – I caught that down 4 sizes line. How wonderful is that!!! You go girl!
NoMORESugar – tell me about this SB support group. I sometimes can’t read everything on the thread at once and miss things – I’ve given a lot of thought to trying to start one up – if you are doing one, please fill me in!
Deb – Team Starbucks! Now that is a pro-active company! That’s what I like! If I didn’t hate retail so much I’d apply for a job at our local Starbucks now! You should be the team captain (by marriage) - that would be so much fun! I’ve beenemailing my friend WDW menus as she is going down there next month, so by next Jan I’ll be so Disney-obsessed I’ll be there to cheer you on!
Nance – I know what you mean about feeling better when you are OP. I feel exactly the same. Then why do I sometimes go off? What’s worse, making the effort to stay OP or feeling lousy when you don’t? Sounds like a topic for Oprah!
Tree – I’m sorry I missed it – what is the agave site for ordering? Is it the frankferd farms? I’m entering an agave panic attack!
Early dismissal today so gotta gear up for an afternoon with the kiddies. Luckily, both have kids coming over, so less work for mom!
Have a great OP day!

Good morning everyone!
OK it is WIW and I got on the scale. It is sitting at 244--which is 7 lbs up from my low of 237. So this is where we are beginning the year from. I'm doing well as far as my eating so should start to see it head south soon.
My MRI was not too bad yesterday. I'm not claustraphobic, so I didn't have any problem with the closed machine. I was only in for about 15 minutes anyway--I just kept my eyes closed and counted all the things I was grateful for. It was actually quite a nice little meditation. Of course one of the things I am very
grateful for is the support on this board--and my SB sisters!
I go back to the DR tomorrow for results. I'm hoping it is not a herniated disk since all of the treatment options seemed pretty icky. I'm pretty tense right now about getting my campaign contracts signed--so I'm hoping that's what it is. I didn't injure myself, I just woke up last Wed. with a sore neck. Pain starting shooting down my arm over the weekend and than I started getting muscle spasms. Not fun, but not the worst pain I've ever experienced either.
VIV--thanks for the good wishes. I'm going to try the BBQ sauce. It sounds delish. I'm happy not to be living where it is really really cold. I do not like winter so Jan/Feb are months simply to be survived as far as I'm concerned.:p
Nance--yes check in with is and get back on track! WE are here for you!
Bus--congrats on the loss!:D
Rhonda--doesn't it s**k having to relose weight? But we will do it won't we girlfriend?:dizzy:
Deb--looking forward to the cheese cake recipe. You are right have Renee (Frog) being a really neat lady. I enjoyed meeting her last May! I think a Starbucks/SB team would be awesome!
OK--I have to go now.Third potty call in 30minutes--hope this is a good omen!

Happy to report I'm down 2 pounds! :) I went to our cafeteria today and the grill guy was giving me a hard time because I haven't gotten my usual french fries for the last three days. Then I told him that I had lost two pounds in the last week and he forgave me.
Generally feeling pretty good. I can't believe it is only Wednesday though. I have worked more so far this week week than I have the last 3 weeks combined.
Congrats to all the losers. I'm sorry that I can't respond to y'all (as we say here in Atlanta) individually, but I just keep everyone straight.
Hope everyone has a good day. It's downhill to the weekend from here.

Didnt mean to shake people up yesterday by posting my WIW a day early. I swear I just cant keep up with the days. Anyway I stepped on the scales this morning and still at 180 so no lbs loss. Oh well maybe next week. Ill just have to try harder.
Congrats to all the losers. Its always nice to step on the scales and see a loss.
I need some help. I want to make some Hummus but I cant find Tahini at my local grocery stores and a HFS is just to far away. Is there a substitute?
Will try and check in later.

Just posted my 1/2 pound loss on the WIW Board. I have only been on the SB way of eating for a few days. It seems like it is really going to be something I can live with. It seems that most recipies could be adapted. I am taking things slow though and will ask questions here first. I don't want to make a BIG MISTAKE and have something I shouldn't. From past experiences, I know that I am kind of like an alcoholic. If I stray once, I just keep right on going and going like the Energizer Bunny.
I do have a question. I am going to make a loaf of bread and it calls for honey (2 tlbs). I do not have the agave nectar. Can I use Splenda?
I have been noticing that if I eat a full meal for dinner, I don't sleep well at night. I don't have heartburn or anything like that, but I feel bloated and unable to breathe. Even if I eat before 6 or 7pm. (Most of my weight is in the abdomen, with all that fat in there all my vital organs are probably screaming at me to wake up and get a clue). I am thinking about having only a light snack at night and then have a bigger breakfast in the morning.
Thanks again everyone,
Sheann

Hi everybody. I've been trying to catch up on the posts for this week. Monday was my first day back at school. The kids started Friday, but I had a workshop to go to.:D I'm trying to get back in the swing of things and I'm really dragging. Anyway, I've stayed OP...well, pretty much.:s: Still up a couple of pounds from my low of 150.
Congrats to Frog!:D Way to go!
Welcome newbies and welcome back Quilter.;)
Sorry I can't get to everyone. I'm too far behind!:dizzy:

Sheann: Yes, you can bake with splenda. 99% of people think it takes great. I'm one of the 1% that can taste a really foul after-taste, so if you've never used it, try it in a cup of tea or something before you go to all that trouble to bake bread and then don't like it. I vaguely remember a discussion on the honey issue. I THINK the conclusion was that 2 tablespoons divided by however many servings you actually get out of the loaf would still be legal, but before anybody screams at me, I only sort of remember this! Deb?
MusicTeach- Welcome back! Hard to get back to the routines, isn't it?
Catlover- I really don't think there is a substitute for tahini unless you want to make your own with a mortar and pestle! That would give you a great arms workout....Can you order it and have it delivered? Strange, every grocery store here sells it.
Zanne-Did my first LBWO this morning, don't think I hit 10's on anything. I may have to join a gym, cause to get to peak with free weights and no spotter, I may get killed. Like squats. With hubby spotting, I can squat 85 pounds, 12 reps (probably sounds wimpy to the quad squad, but took me FOREVER to get there). But alone, I can't get more than 50 lbs into position. The nearest gym sounds expensive, but cheaper than buying my own smith machine! And dumbbells heavy enough to do my legs any good hurt my shoulder joints! Very frustrating. I'm going down to talk to the head weight trainer at the gym tomorrow to see if I want to join. He managed to tell me 3 times in a 5 minute conversation that he's a 3 time grand masters champ. OK, I'm impressed. (yes, I really am, but EGO? Are his biceps as big?)
I took my pics this morning. What a hoot! Luckily I have a really cool new digital camera that has a lense that swivels 360 degrees so I can take my own picture with the self timer and see it in the LCD screen. I haven't owned a 2 piece bathing suit since forever so I used my red Victoria Secret Undies. I can definitively say those pictures are NEVER going anywhere! YUCK! I didn't expect to look like the 20 year old babes in the catalogue,
but I'm pretty sure if VS saw me, they'd confiscate the underwear and ban me from the store! And that's after having already lost 35 pounds of FAT FAT FAT! So those pics are just for me, and hopefully the 12 week ones will be better! And I won't wear underwear:lol: I was all set up in the bathroom with a sheet draped behind me and the camera on a tripod, feeling like an absolute fool. My biggest fear was that a burglar would break in at that moment, see me, and have a heart attack in my bathroom! Or worse, my hubby would come home unexpectedly. I'd never live it down!
and with that image seared into your brains, gotta go!

Hello all!
Bad day here – didn’t weigh this morning because TOM hit me hard last night and I know I’m up, so didn’t even get on. I’m depressed enough without looking!! I don’t guess depressed is the right word, just “hormonal” I guess. This TOM thing just gets worse every month. I haven’t always had these problems, or at least not as bad! I’ve been craving chocolate sooooo baaad this afternoon – and yes, I did it. I know I goofed up, but I really felt better afterwards – maybe my bsl was low??? I need to go to the HFS and get some legal chocolate to get me by during times like these!
Mel – did someone say something about goofy kids?? My 9 ½ year old son drives me up the wall sometimes. Goofy is his middle name!! He watches a cartoon named “Ed, Edd and Eddie” and it is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. He loves to mimick them constantly. For example, we can be driving down the road and he will say “if only we had a sack of potatoes” (he says it in his goofy voice too)!! I just want to choke him!!! From seeing my niece and nephew, I know that they grow out of it, but until they do you just have to grin and bear it I guess!!
BusDeb – Hope the meeting wasn’t bad! I’m game to get together whenever!
No time for more right now – fixin to down more Midol, fill up the waterbottle and head out.

MEL---Oh my gosh, you are my inspiration. Actually, getting size SIX pants on and up is FANTASTIC!!! YOU MUST BE SO PROUD OF YOURSELF. That’s awesome. Thanks for adding that you were unbuttoning your size 16’s. Speaking as one who’s 16’s are WAY too tight . . . you give me a gigantic boost and kick in the seat to get my butt and attitude and eating plan in gear. Keep up the good work! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.
NOMORE---You got on the scale on “the morning after” going out to eat and you had lost????? AWESOME! You are wise to stick with the fish. Always a good choice? What’s your favorite. I know, I agree with DEB and always get the salmon at the Outback. It’s always yummy.
JRED---Thanks for sharing your good idea about the Palm Pilot. Can you believe that I’ve had a Palm for 3 years and have NEVER thought about putting my food journal in there. Duh!!! Have fun with yours. I did put a lot of recipes in mine so that when I’m at the grocery and can’t remember what’s in something , I can just look it up.
ROSALIE---Thanks forthe welcome back. I’m happy to see that you are still on track and enjoying your badminton. You probably have a wicked serve, right??? Think of all that wonderful upper arm workout you are getting. Let’s hear it for the overhead slam!!!
ZANNE---Thanks for the welcome. How sweet you are! Yes, it’s good to be reminded that this is a loving group who will gladly support those who are struggling. I’m so grateful for your warmth. That’s great!!! I hope you are finding great successes with this WOE.
RHROO---Sounds like your life is as crazy and action-packed as it’s always been. Hang in there! You crack me up!
SOL---So happy and relieved to hear that BOB is driving that wagon and that she still knows the way to my house. Thanks, hon, for saving me a seat. (It needs to be a bigger seat!) I’m so glad to hear you are training for a half-marathon! Wow!!! What a SUPER idea. I like your idea of alternating weight training and walking. I read this great book called Strong Women Stay Slim. The author talks about how building our muscles is so important. Unfortunately, I’ve loaned out the book and can’t seem to get it back. But I did photocopy the weight exercises and stretches. So I’m trying to get those in 3 days a week. I asked for dumbbells in various weights for Christmas and got them. (That was one HEAVY present!) Good luck to you, friend. I can’t wait to hear all about your progress. When are you doing the 3.5? Morning, evening? Aren’t you afraidi to walk in the dark? I’m sticking to my TM while the daylight hours are so short.
FILL---A herneated disk???? Girl, what are you doing down there? My good thoughts are coming your way and I really hope you are feeling better soon. Better to let the experts take care of it than try to dr. it on your own and prolong the pain. Hang in there , sweetie!
DEB---Do you think you will be on the news sometime soon as you are SPEEDING all around the neighborhood. I am getting a mental picture of one of those news helicopters following you around and tracking your progress and not knowing exactly what’s going on. At that time, you have to be officially running for most of it. Want to hear my prediction??? Next January DEB at the WDW marathon but NOT on the sidelines. I can picture it! How about you?
JMUIR---I like your idea of sloppy joes on triscuits. That sounds yummy. Kind of like party food. Did you feel like you were at a party. Do you love that green tea. I have this brand called Yogi and it’s green tea with triple echinacea which helps during this colds and flu season.
SEF---Thanks for the declaration that I am not ranked with the old and mold. You are so great! Write when you can, girlfriend. It’s NOT about guilt, it’s about good friends sharing with each other when time and energy permits. Not much going on here after the holiday hoopla, so that’s why I haven’t written anything.
NANCE---Hello, out there!!! Is life in the western world good? I like your idea of having a partner. I was just thinking how great it would be to have a “sponsor” or a “coach” to call when I was really falling prey to temptations of the wrong kind. Hope you and she can find some fantastic successes. Just keep focused on how great you will feel in May when you reach your goal. I need to set a goal myself. I had set one way back when, but that’s impossible to reach now. So I think it’s time to tackle a new plan. Thanks for the inspiration. Our six year wedding anniversary is April 13 and I really wanted to be thinner by then. At one time, I could have seen me reaching goal by then, but not now (after my monstrous gain for the past few months!). But hopefully, I’ll be less by then. Good luck, hon!
Okay, girls, CONGRATS to all you who had big losses this morning. Heck, congrats to all you who were brave enough to get onto the scales. I know I need to do that, and I just can’t bring myself to make that tiny little step. Yes, I’m in denial. Not denying that I have gained. My closet is screaming at me to WAKE UP and I can’t ignore that. Just in denial about needing to know the exact poundage that has occurred. Did I tell you all that during my last trip to the dr in November, I closed my eyes when I weighed. I specifically told the person to NOT say the number out loud. Then the dr. came in the room and the first thing she said was, “You’ve gained 18 pounds!” Talk about a humbling experience. She was nice enough to add the disclaimer about it being caused by my missing thyroid, but it was still a shock!
Where’s BOB???? Anybody seen BOB??? Anybody heard from BOB???? Just wondering where you are, BOB!!!! Hope all is well with you and Skeeter. Maddie sends her best sniffs to Cousin Skeeter!
Well, that’s it for me! I’ve joined a new book club and this month’s read is To Kill a Mockingbird. Great book! I’d better be off to see what Scout and Jem are up to.
Bye

Hey All:wave:
Just got in from my walk. I was about a 1/2 mile from home when my right calve muscle started to tighten up on me, almost like a charlie horse:eek: Didn't feel good, that I can tell you. Took me some time to get it to ease up, and I tried to walk it off, which seemed to take forever, but I ventured on and finally it seemed to just about go away, but I ended up walking the rest of the way home-boy, was I slow!!
Eli and I did indeed hit Ole Ole, and then over to D'Lites for Carbolite-I was in heaven, they had one of my favorites, mint!!! I'm guilty for being a pig and getting a large-I loved it! Also hit WHOLE FOODS and picked up 5 CRANBERRY SCONES, which I made a solemn vow to not eat all in one day. So far, just had one:^: I tried calling their bakehouse, but they won't part with the recipe:( but I do have a list of the ingredients and with using another scone recipe, I'm going to try to duplicate it somehow. They did say I could order the dough frozen and bake them myself, may look into that so I could be sure they are freshly baked.
I also went to the other HFS and got my neighbor some more agave syrup. The guy questioned me why I was buying so much, told him it was a wonderful product;) I have 2 more cases on order for next week, then I think I will be set for a while????
There's another site that has agave listed that's even cheaper than FRANKFERD FARMS, it's called NORTHFARM in Madison, WI. Here's a link to their site:
http://products.northfarm.com/eStore.asp
They may have a minimum order, but there's lots of great stuff on their site to make a minimum I'm sure, so check it out.
ZANNE & SUGAR, guess what! When I went to NutritionS'mart today, I asked the guy if they would ship, etc. etc., anyhow, he informed me that they have a brand new store in W. PALM BEACH!!!! He gave me their card and told me he's not sure if they have the agave in stock, but that they could get it for you, and by the case, you get an extra 10% off, sign up for one of their cards (it's free) and you earn an 3extra 3% (not much, but it's something). When you first sign up for the card, that day, they should just give you the 3% off, or until your card comes in the mail, then when you get it, you get to use your credit off your next or future purchase. So ZANNE, you can tell your In-Laws they don't have to travel far, but to make sure to call ahead and order a case if you want it. The store near me puts in their orders on Wednesday and it comes in on Friday-when they call, if they have any questions at the store, like not being familiar with the product name, tell them it's SWEET CACTUS FARMS and if they need to, to call JOHNNY at the store in Pembroke Pines, in Broward. The address for the store in WPB is: 4155 B. Northlake Blvd. (wonder if that B should be something else?), Palm Beach Gardens, FL (561) 694-0644.
For anyone in the Tampa area, they have a store there as well, on 14847 N. Dale Mabry Hwy.
RHROO, you and I are both down 5lbs from last WIW, you for TOM, me mid-cycle. My family already thinks I look too skinny, but I know I'm not-you can even ask the gals from the weekend, I'm sure they'd be honest that I am far from being "skinny". Honestly, I never thought I could get down this low, I figured the one time in my life that I hit 129 would be the lowest I could ever attain again-I'm happy I was wrong!!!
BUSDEB, CONGRATS on the 1lb loss! That's great news! How many pounds does this make now? Oye, what happened at the mandatory meeting?????????? The weather in the summer is awful here, I do agree. My Grandparents, and now my Parents, have the right idea, they hightail it up North in the summer time, well my GP have for so many years and now my parents are going to start since they purchased a place in the NC mountains. When you walk out your door in the summer, it's like walking into an invisible wall of fire. I guess I shouldn't complain about these cold days we have, they are far and fw between!
NANCE, that's great your sister is going to join you in doing SB!! What's going on in May for the 50lb goal? Okay, as part of your therapy, you should tell what you ate that was off plan and why-and how you felt after you ate it-it may help curb that feeling to eat off plan again-at least thinking about posting it on the board may deter you;) How are the kids? Dan? Floyd and Trixie? The cats ever come home??? And, HOW'S THE PARK?????????????
VIV, glad you liked the BBQ SAUCE, I too think it's awesome-sometimes, I do surprise myself!
FILLISE, 7lbs is not so bad, could be worse and at least you are stopping there and focusing on losing those pounds before you go up more and have more to re-lose. Gosh, that was so sweet of you to think of us like that during your MRI:D I too am VERY GRATEFUL for each and every one on this board! Please, let us know what the Dr. says after your visit tomorrow.
JMUIR, CONGRATS, 2lbs this week, WTG!!!
CAT, holding you own is still okay, a loss will be forthcoming, just keep on keeping OP. Hmmm, you don't have any Middle Eastern or Greek grocers around you-both would probably carry these items. Or a Halal place (Moslem grocer). Can't tell you anything that you could substitute for tahini, sorry.
SHEANN, CONGRATS on your 1/2lb loss! Every loss, no matter how big/small is a big deal on this board! You are very much like me when it comes to going off plan. I know how I am and if I cheated I would continue running in the wrong direction. Many people can cheat and get right back on the wagon, but not me, I cheat, the wagon would drag me to the next state and then back-up over me. It's good to realize this about yourself, and as long as you know this about yourself, it will hopefully help keep you staying OP. You could use the honey in the bread, to help the yeast rise-though 2 tbl sounds like a lot. I think you could use less. If you can figure out the sugar grams per serving and only eat a serving that would be 3 grams of sugars or less, you'll be fine. This info is on the FOOD INFORMATION BOARD:
I had been looking for this info for a while - it was in one of my books, (Get The Sugar Out), not on the web!
FYI - when substituting HONEY in a recipe when you don't have AGAVE NECTAR around, please keep the following in mind....
Honey has 16-18 grams of sugar (17 average) in 1 Tablespoon.
Break that down into teaspoons and you have approx. 4 grams of sugar in 1 tsp of honey - still above the 3 grams or less recommended under SB guidelines.
So, with that info, if you are using 2tbl, that would be 34 grams of sugar in the loaf. If you can get 12 slices out of that loaf, you would have it fall under the 3gram rule. But again, I think 2tbl sounds like a lot of honey, unless it's for something other than proofing the yeast. Hope this helps! What are you eating for dinner, maybe it's the food you are eating-added fiber maybe??
MUSIC, the kids aren't back to school yet?? When did they get out? Sounds like you all have a long vacation up there. Glad to see your post!
MEL, I sure would love to see those before pics!! LOL!!!
TV, when you get a choc. craving, would a cup of hot cocoa do you good? Sounds like a good solution to me. I don't know if I was having a chocolate craving if I'd trust myself to having chocolate around me at that time-luckily, I haven't had one of those cravings, just indulge in a piece once in a while when I think about it.
QUILTER, does this mean you are back with us and back on track???? Please say YES! How's Paul??? Oh yes, I can say I have good intentions of jogging next to FROG and SOL next year at WDW, and I hope others will join us, whether it be jogging or walking-something to strive for for the future!!! Trust me, I don't go that fast, but I'm jogging most of my distance on most days, which is a lot more than I was doing 6 months ago!!!! Ummm, you could call me at any time, you know. I can be your LD partner and coach!!! [{{HUGS}}} I too wonder where Skeeter's Mom is-hopefully, she'll get her arse on the board soon!!!!
Gotta run, Michael needs the computer!

IT'S BEAUTIFUL WOMAN MONTH & TAG YOU'RE IT (all of you)!
Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month?
Well, it is and that means you and me. I'm supposed to send this to FIVE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, but I know more than five! So here goes...
Facts on Figures:
There are 3 billion women who don't look like supermodels and only eight who do.
Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14.
If Barbie was a real woman, she'd have to walk on all fours due
to her proportions.
The average woman weighs 144 lb. and wears between a 12-14.
One out of every four college aged women has an eating! disorder.
The models in the magazines are airbrushed -- not perfect!
A psychological study in 1995 found that three minutes spent
looking at a fashion magazine caused 70% of women to feel depressed, guilty, and shameful.
Models twenty years ago weighed 8% less than the average woman. Today they weigh 23% less.

Meliris - Thank you. I am also one of the 1% who has a problem with Splenda aftertaste! It sort of coats your mouth too. :p LOL about your pics and burglars on the run! Boy will those be great to look at when several pounds later you can say "Did I lose all that?".
Sheann - I know that people with acid reflux, tend to have problems at night. One of the remedies is to tilt the top part of your bed (where your head is). I assume that means either sleeping with a lot of pillows, or putting a wedge under your mattress. The light dinner, and bigger b'fast might do the trick though. Ever hear of mini-meals, and maxi-snacks? You eat 5-6 meals a day instead of 3. It's supposed to be a better way of eating. I find it too difficult to do, but its a neat concept.
Viv - here'sthe Agave Nectar info - I ordered mine in a 6lb pail from St.
So, I tried this Beginner Ballet Shape Up video. I got as far as the warmup, (creak, snap, pop), then the dog got in my face. I put him out, came back, and just did not want to finish it. I'll eventually get to do the rest of it, I just need to ease into it. That night, I had the WORST muscle spasm in my neck. It continued all night, and into the next day. UGH! Granted, I'm stressed about the job changes and I've noticed that I've been tensing up. I don't think the warmup was the problem. It's just I'm totally out of shape. Ha, ha! I'll try it again, as soon as my neck relaxes.
Congrats to all the losses out there! Congrats to all those jumping back on the wagon! Yay, I'm down 1lb!

Nadia said to say "HI"...Faris is doing fine, driving me nuts playing his new guitar ALL THE TIME....oh well, better than beraking bones at the skate park! No, Dan has not been making me the gourmet coffee drinks.....I am the Queen of the Java, and froth to perfection! Dan the Man just made some business cards and flyers up for extra $ for computer repairs, etc.....so I'll tell him to put all the $$ into the Florida fund!
Gotta eat dinner......check in LATER!!!!!
Hugs!

this is going to be quick as it is getting late. have had many long busy days in the recovery room this past week so i am thinking way ahead to the next sugarbuster reunion! it has been very chilly here in central florida currently 42 degrees, this morning it was 27DEGREES and i had to get a kitchen spatula to scrape my windshield before i could drive to work! i have not had to do that since we left cincinnati 20 years ago! where is that nice balmy weather that i enjoy so much? looking forward to a trip to the beach in north carolina!
THANK YOU DEBBIE for the cheesecake recipe! i have promised to take one to work for all to try. i surely enjoyed it when we were in orlando. it is my turn to have BUNKO this month so i will be going through my file of legal sb recipes to try on my friends. we are a group of 12 women who have been getting together once a month for 11 years to play bunko, eat and gab. we have a lot of fun and your cheesecake, quiche and zucchini loaf will certainly be hits! i am the only sugarbuster so far but most are watching their girlish figures so i will put on a legal assortment of goodies. the strawberries here in central florida have been wonderful this winter, i have a lot of ideas for the menu!
it is exciting to see all the folks on the board, i am trying hard to keep everyone straight, it is fun putting faces with names. love the tuesday chats too, nice to meet you sef, busdeb and liz.
well better close, need to get some sleep. have to drive up to daytona for my uncle's funeral in the morning. my 9 year old has been to 6 funerals in the past 5 years. finally will get to take her to her first wedding in cincinnati this summer. i come from a fairly large family that is spread around the country and lately the reunions have involved these sad events.
take care and have a good weekend everybody.

Good Friday Morning All:wave:
Seems we're up and running again, thank goodness!, though it seems we've lost some of our posts that were done yesterday, they seemed to just up and disappeared!:( I was having withdrawls!
This has to be short, Mom is on her way over and I need to get ready to go run around with her, actually, her with me.
I e-mailed those of you on my mailing list about the latest news on the agave, for those newbies I don't have on my list yet, and our devoted lurkers, here's some new
NEWS ON THE AGAVE:
I just wanted to share an e-mail that I got from the gal who use to work for the importer of agave and who was the one who told me what was happening initially with the agave syrup and it's production demise.
As I have said in the past, I found her information to be credible and accurate. As I'm probably more happy than anyone else on this latest information, I can't but help to wonder what kind of games this company is playing. I have 7-8 cases of agave syrup in my home, definitely an over buy on my part, but considering the information that was given not only to us, but to many large companies, I think I didn't over react, I use this stuff like crazy, I'll probably be happy that I have at least a year or so supply at the lower price. BUT, even if the price increases, I can say once my supply is gone, I'll be buying it! BUT, sure hoping by that time, whatever the cost is, it will come down in price-I'm good to go for at least a year or more!
Anyhow, take this information as you see fit, as I always say. This is her e-mail in it's entirety:
Subj: Agave Again!
Date: 1/11/02 12:51:00 AM Eastern Standard Time
Surprise!
Mexico plant is now back producing agave syrup again!
It appears the new syrup is from some different types of wild agaves, I have heard, and not at the expected costs of 3 to 4 times the old agave syrup, but only at twice the costs--whoopee! Supposedly, these plants are less expensive, but of higher quality--go figure.
Just think, it only took 2 and a half weeks to redo the whole company, and product line! What a great place the world is!
Obviously, you can tell I am really overjoyed that they are up and running again, with less overhead now...given I and my customer service manager are gone. Oh well. They finally took down their Mexican website this week--under construction I guess to unveil the new and improved agaves!
Of course, my suppliers for the retail products are not so happy as I am---probably because they are owed some $200,000 for packaging. But silly me, Naturel, LLC doesn't exist anymore, so why pay anyone?
I can only say it sure was a wild ride!
Just thought you might want to know the news...whether anyone will ever buy this new and improved agave syrup, I guess time will tell. I think the price will scare them off--$2.00 per lb. for the industrial customers is probably a killer for the ingredient Business but who knows? Stranger things have been known to happen...just look at the "syrup shutdown worldwide" in December 2001! No more agave syrup for years--at least 4 years I was told, and then maybe not ever if the MX government couldn't help them with subsidies to grow their own wild agaves. Marvelous recovery time, a miracle, you think?!
Gee, too bad the sales personnel in the Italy office are out of jobs too. And all the customers in the USA and Canada have been scrambling to reformulate all their nutritional bars, juices, soy milk drinks, teas, yogurts, etc....etc...
What's that strange smell, Debbie? Are we the only ones who smell something odd around here?!
***********************
I asked her WHEN the "new" agave would be available to us, the consumers (hopefully, the old supply out there will last until the new supply arrives to store shelves). Also, I asked her if it was going to be as sweet as the old one (the new one they were bottling was not as sweet, thus having to use more-I like the old much better). I will keep you all updated to what I find out.
I did start a post yesterday, before the board went down, so here's some of what I was able to post:
Good Thursday Morning Everyone:wave:
Can't believe it's already 11:30am as I start this post! Time is flying by me today. Once again I waited til it warmed up a tad outside and then by the time I went it was really warm. I did the 4.5 miles in 46:50. Not a bad time, but it could of been better. I felt my leg muscle so fatigued, which must of been due to just walking 4.5 miles about 12 hours ago. I think tomorrow, I'll just walk, and Saturday will be my usual day off.
Okay, I posted the recipe for the CHEESECAKE on the board. Please let me know if anyone makes it and what you think about it-I'm sure you'll love it!!!! I'll try to post another recipe or two if time permits.
I take it many of us will be glued to the boob-tube tonight for the finale of Survivor. Seems the favorite is a nice Jewish boy!!! Should be interesting!!!
TREE, I've seen that BEAUTIFUL WOMAN before. It's amazing when you think about it and how normal most of us really are-just think of all those supermodels, they are the abnormal looking waifs!
BOB, okay so what's the latest with you-better fess on up, pull that wagon out of the barn, hitch it up pick up whoever and drive it down here to the DETOX DUNGEON before the month is over!!!! Look at all who's back with us! NANCE, QUILTER, CAT, TREE-isn't that great!!!!
NANCE, give the kids a hug and kiss for me, oh, and Dan too, and Floyd the Farting Dog! Glad to hear you're doing good at your job. Have you heard from LDBLOND?? She hasn't been on in a while and I can't remember when she said she was going to have this latest surgery-please let me know if you hear of/from her!!! Definitely have a FLORIDA FUND going!!!!
BIGK, 27 degrees, you can have it-and I thought it was cold when we were up there-thank goodness it wasn't that cold you'd of definitely heard me *****in! Let me know how your cheesecake comes out when you make it. I made a little change to reflect a note on the recipe, so you may want to check it out again. Sorry to hear about your Uncles passing.
ZANNE, when you call the place with the pail of agave, ask them the production date. If it's really old, it may have lost some flavor. Avis had sent me a gallon of an old batch of agave and it tasted weird, not as sweet and a little off. Also, make sure the shipping won't kill you!
And now I'm back on today, FRIDAY!
Real quick,
I HAVE A NEW LOW TODAY!!!!!!
I see 118 on that lovely scale of mine! I know I won't stay there and really, that's just fine with me, but sure is nice to see that kind of a number!!
Gotta run, will be back on sometime later!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Helloe Everyone!
The news from the Dr. was not good yesterday. It is indeed a herniated disk and I'm banned from the gym for the duration. We have no idea what caused it, but the MRI showed some degeneration and arthiritis is my neck. Ick. I go to my orthopedic Dr. on Monday to discuss treatment options. More ick.
I missed the board being down--I didn't get to post yesterday. Porbably a good thing as I was not a happy camper!
I'm going to try to have a quiet weekend--just me and the pain medication. Will go shopping this afternoon to stock the house with easy to prepare SB foods so I won't have to cook much.
I'm going to check out that cheese cake recipe--sounds yummy! I'll talk some more later, it is kind of hard to sit at the computer and type right now.
Cheers,

HiedieHo All!
Thought I would post and then go back to bed! Wednesday was really busy. I know for sure I could not hold a job. I was at church for 6 hours. I completed all the copying but would not have if the xecretary hadn't taken pity on me and helped me with the last collating and stapling. I knew I was getting tired but hated to leave a job in the middle, so kept plugging along! Oh well, it's done anyway.
I did make about 12# of mashed potatoes for the wake and delivered by 9:30a.
Supper was easy just needed to be thawed. I don't know what we ever did without freezers and microwaves! Then went to choir practice.
Yesterday wasn't too bad. I went to NH, drugstore and home. Made a real supper. Then Habitat meeting. I was elected to the board and will serve on Newsletter/PR committee.
I don't know if weather is going to change (fell asleep during news) but today is not one of my better days. It's okay, I've learned to do what I can and go with the flow. Not sick just need a lie down.
TREE - Before SB breakfast was literately a full pot of coffee in the two hours between getting up and going to work. If the pot wasn't gone by then I had the last cup in my insulated mug and it went with me to work! Now I am a good girl  and eat breakfast. There is a decided change in how I feel. I liked your Beautiful Women.
ZANNE - I thought you stated your feelings very well. Will finish later
Take care. sef

It's finally here, the end of the week. Hope everyone had a good one and has a great weekend.
I did okay at lunch today. We went for Mexican. I was very good and didn't have any of those addictive chips that they put on you table. I did have the fajitas on flour tortillas but I used the loaded baked potato approach. I had the carbs, but I also had a ridiculous amount of protein, what with the steak and the guacamole and all. So hopefully, it won't be too bad.
Have any of you heard of or read the book Low-Carb meal in minutes? I saw it online at amazon and was wondering if anyone here had fixed any of the recipes. Generally, it sounded pretty good. I thought I would try and find it a my local bookstore and see if i like anything that is in it. I'll let you know what I find out.
Well, that's about it for me today. hope everyone has fun this weekend.
See ya on the board.

So far so good. I'm doing pretty well on the program during the day but am getting the munchies at night. I haven't gone off the program though. Last night I had a couple (3) of triscuits with a SMALL slice of cheese (very thin) on each.
I made the ww bread yesterday and used honey but didn't use the 2 tlbs it called for. I only used one. It turned out very well and I sliced it very thin. Now I'm thinking about trying to make the ww tortillas or the pitas. Next time I make the bread, I am going to try the Splenda. Just to see if it turns out ok. Maybe I'll cut the recipie in half and just make a couple of rolls instead of a whole loaf of bread.
Debbie, Congratulations on your all time low of 118. I hope everyone has a great weekend. You are all an inspiration. And thanks for all of the great recipies I read and printed off on the Recipie Board.
Thanks
Sheann

Hi everyone
I typed this post yesterday and when I went to post it the site was down. Darn. Here it is anyhow with a couple of small changes. Will try to get back and respond to other posts later. Just got in from work and have to think about getting dinner ready.
Just a quickie, as usual. Been very busy these last few days. Worked the last three days, and played badminton every evening. I'm off to-day but have lots to do. Just finished the laundry and cleaning the house now have to do a bit of shopping and I am going out with some friends this evening to a concert and to dinner at my favorite Indian restaurant.
Sol - I am still unable to get below 195 - this morning it was 195 1/2 - so you don't have much to catch up with. My goal for January is just to get below 195 - and stay there. I'm trying hard to stay op and cutting down on the starchy carbs and concentrating on having most of my carbs in the morning at breakfast. This worked for me in the past so hope I can get some good results soon.
Kim - I wish I was as good as you think I am with my badminton serve - I'm hopeless but I am working on it.
Fillise - Sorry to hear about the herniated disc. I wish you luck with your doctors visit on Monday.
Deb - Thanks for your offer about the Agave. I think I will check out one of the online suppliers and see how much it would cost to send it up here. The price here from the HFS was $5.19 for the light and $4.89 for the dark but they are out of stock at the moment and I don't know if they will be getting any more. Thanks for the new info about the agave. Hope I can find some before the price goes up. If the price doubles I certainly won't be buying it any more. Too bad as I have just gotten used to using a little in my coffee. I just don't like any of the other sweeteners.
Bye.
Marie.

Anyway tomorrows a new day. I did get my hour of excersise in! thats five times for me this week! Tomorrow i won't get to it my son has a basketball game---and rain! Excuses I know. My leg is feeling better now my lower back hurts! I think i am falling apart!

HiedieHo All!!
I'm baaaaaack! Took a nap and am taking things easy. Simple supper in oven, plain chicken breasts with lemon and teriyaki.
DEB - Loved the cartoon, I think that's what my poor scale does! I don't think you should move north! Where I come from 27' is just brisk, not cold! Aren't you pumping blood to your tether end? Cold toilet seat is to wake you up! Cold hands mean a warm heart. You definitely have a problem!! I am not glued to TV for Suviver! All this week are finals in figure skating. We have our men's team. I only caught the end of last night's competition.
MEL - I think all of us BBW are camera shy! I never willingly pose! That's probably why I look like someone trying to avoid the most wanted list! I love your humorous description of taking pics! You're braver than I! Me? Any teachers out there?
RHROO - Those 11# will go! You have the power!
BUS - Cartwheels are good exercise!!!! I'm still not at my best yet with this woe, but am doing better. Hope your meeting was not too traumatic!!
NANCE - I agree. When we "behave" I feel better, but I've always been recalcitrant and do things the hard way.
VIV - Don't be mad at yourself! That can lead to other problems. We are always harder on ourselves than others. We should support ourselves the way we do others! Think what you would tell them and apply it to yourself.
FILLISE - Am praying for an simple solution to your neck problem. Glad MRI wasn't traumatic for you.
JMUIR - 2# down. WTG! CAT - Time passing quickly for you now is just a sample of things to come. When you get old and decrepit like me thime goes even faster and you go slower!!!
SHEANN - I have found that 6 small meals are better. When I was in hospital, the nutritionist said one of the things good about SB is that it encourages snacks, that people do better in weight loss with smaller frequent meals. Also said that I should not be upset because I lose than stop, lose again and stop again. She felt this is better for you as it's the body's way of adjusting and weight is more apt to stay off. Don't know if she was talking through her hat but I liked what I heard!
MUSIC - Answering posts is fun but not the main objective. I feel it's important that we post period. It gives us a little accountability. I feel better when I put something in writing, it gives whatever is bothering me in perspective.
TV - Hope you feel better, TOM can be a pain in the royal butt! All this talk of pesty kids. I can tell you it will pass, you just have to hang on and keep a sense of humor. Remember when our Mom's would tell us they hoped we had kids just like ourselves? Do we think we were angelic children? I don't thiiiiiiiiiiiink so!!
QUILTER - Yes we need goals, just don't set them so high that we are intimidated. It scares me to say I need to lose 100# or even 60. I try to concentrate on smaller cargo weight!! Aim for 5 or 10.
MOMMA - Nice meeting you too. As I told Deb, 27' is just brisk weather.
Take care all. sef

Just thought I'd jump on for a few minutes and read the new posts.
Sef: Thanks for the information that the nurse gave you. It sounds right to eat 6 smaller meals throughout the day. You would never have time to be hungry or feel deprived. I'm going to give it a try. Oh, and it's good to know that someone else will be glued to the TV watching figure skating. I watch just about everything that is on. I do have my favorite skaters though too.
I have checked out the fitday.com site that someone mentioned. I have been keeping my food journaled there for the past 3 days. It does help to see what you are putting into your body and how it adds up really quickly.
Have a great weekend.

Holy Cow . . . literally!!! I went to the dr this morning to get some blood drawn (for further thyroid checking) and I actually LOOKED at the scale when I weighed in. I said to the nurse, “Okay, I’m going to look.” She said, “Are you sure you want to?” Does that tell you how out of control I’ve been??? Anyway, I’m keeping my new ultra high weight to myself for the time being. But here’s the way I look at it. I am super clear now that I have to GET BUSY. So that’s it. I’m trying to NOT be depressed about it and just deal with it. Also trying to NOT beat myself up about it. And also trying to NOT eat out my frustrations. HA!!! Now there’s a new concept!!! Incidentally, I have to go back to dr in 3 weeks, so that's the next time I'll weigh. Wish me luck for the next weigh in!
DEB---118??? Wowee!!! That is really low and really the weight of a skinny person!!! Whew, where did you go? That’s awesome. It must have made you smile from ear to ear. That’s so great! Good/Great/Super/Fantastic/Wonderful for YOU!!!!! Thanks for the cheesecake recipe. Life with cheesecake is SO much better than life without it! (Words to live by.)
SEF---Speaking as someone who works for a non-profit, you are a gold mine!!! Yes, you are the people we love to get working for us. Eager and willing to do what needs to be done. I train most of our volunteers and while everyone is certainly different from each other, there is this one terrific bond. Everybody want’s to help and make somebody’s life better. Habitat, no doubt, is so excited to have someone with your experience and know-how and love of life. Hope all is well. I think I missed something. Who died? Didn’t you say that you made mashed potatoes for the wake. Just wondering. Call me nosey if you want, but i’d rather ask than worry.
Hi VIV!!!!! How are you? What’s new in your end of the world? Hope those young’uns are behaving themselves. I looked for you online last night. Were you glued to the Survivor finale??? Or glued to some hockey games???
FILLISE---So sorry to hear about your herniated disk. My good thoughts and prayers are headed your way. I’m hoping you will be painfree very soon and that that old arthritis will just disappear. Take care!
FROGGIE---Are you back yet??? Can’t wait to hear all about the race from your point of view. How great was it??? You and your super bod that is so healthy is making me get up off this couch right now and move my big you-know-what to the TM!!! Thanks for your commitment, hon! Congrats!
Well, that’s it for me. Hope you all have a GREAT and SUPER weekend. Let’s hear it for all the wonderful SB’ers!!! Yippee and Yeehaw!!!
Take care, y'all!

Zanne - I just found a Canadian site that sells Agave Nectar. I thought you might be interested. The price is $5.95 for 500 mls and $68 for 12/500 mls. I have just e-mailed them to find out what kind it is - light or dark - and the cost for shipping. I will let you know if I hear from them. I think it would be cheaper than ordering from the US, depending on the shipping rates of course.
The site is www.Gallowaysfoods.com.

Hey All
I've had a baaaaaaaaaaaaad day:( I haven't been getting more than a couple of hours sleep a night for a couple of weeks or more. I'm exhausted. I haven't wanted to take anything in case DS woke up in the night. It's the weekend and DH can sleep a little less sound cause I HAVE to sleep and I'm using the meds. Didn't do my workout cause I was afraid I'd drop a dumbbell on my head (that would help me sleep tho, wouldn't it:dizzy: ). Then I made ice cream sundaes for dessert! Bad Zanne! Guess I'll use today as the BFL "free" day and use Sunday (supposed to be day off) as a make up day.
Rosalie Marie, I think it may be worth it as long as shipping isn't high. The bottles are twice the size of what we've bought (maybe a little more with metric) and the price is less than a dollar more per the bigger bottle. Thank you soooooo much for the info. I was going to have agave shipped to my inlaws in West Palm Beach if I had to order from the States and have them drive it back at Easter, but this Galloways sounds like a great deal! Thanks for thinking of me:)

Evening All:wave:
Figured I'd try to get in a post before Eli gets home. Lauren and I were suppose to go to a play today, but dear ol Mom forgot to call and reserve the tickets and it was sold out, so a quiet evening at home is at hand.
Mom and I ran around to a few stores today, not much time cause she got here late, but enough to do some $$ damage. Went to Wal-Mart and found raspberries for $1.50, at Publix, the reg. grocery store, they're something like $3.49 for the same size-I won't tell you how many I bought! Over 5 and under 10, let's say!
Got a few more e-mails from Avis today regarding the agave-will try to compile them this weekend and post what she had to say. In a nutshell, I'll be surprised if anything worthwhile materializes with this so-called NEW AGAVE!
FILLISE, sorry to hear about your Dr. appt. Okay, so what does this ultimately mean, considering I know as much about a herniated disk as I do about being an Astronaut! Hope you feel better and that pain medication helps!!
SEF, I think you work MORE than a person who has a job! What you do is the job of more than one person! Geez, I don't think I could even do all you do, and that's with being younger. I guess that's what must keep you feeling so young!;) Can't get use to that cold toilet seat a bit-don't they have warmers-other than someone sitting on it before you go? Eli says I have no insulation left on me and that's why I'm cold-if that's how it is to be thinner, than I guess I'll just have to suffer!!!
JMUIR, I love the salsa at Ole Ole but never touch the chips. I eat mine with a fork. If you know in advance that you are going there, bake some WW tortillas, or even pita bread in wedges, if you like, and take those with you :) I've never seen that book, at least I don't think I have. What I started doing is when I hear of a book that I think would be good, I try to see if the library has it, if I like it, then I look on half.com or Ebay for my own personal copy. I just did that recently with HIGH FIBER, HIGH FLAVOR, or something to that effect-it was a good book and got it at a great price!
SHEANN, if you are getting munchies at night, try to make sure you get some good protein in the evening for dinner, or something like beans that stave off hunger for quite a while. Maybe eat a piece of filling fruit, like an apple, that should help. Happy to hear the WW bread you made came out well. Was it from our recipe boards??
ROSALIE, hope you have a wonderful time out with your friends tonight-what do you like to order at the Indian Rest? That's one type of food I don't care for-I'm not crazy about the curry smell, reminds me of stinky feet:^: What kind of concert did you go to? Check out the price for agave-try FRANKFERD since they are in PA, not too too far from CA, vs a place somewhere like Calif. The offer stands if you want. I did check the shipping costs by USPS, and it's higher than I thought, just hypothetically put in the approx weight of 2 boxes of agave and it's almost $20 in shipping. May prove to be better doing it on line-let me know what you find out:)
RHROO, I had withdrawls too. Good going on the exercise this week!
QUILTER, don't worry about the numbers on the scale! The fact that you are going to take charge and start making a change for the good and in the right direction is what's important. Focusing on being and thinking positive is what's important, not those darned numbers. I looked back to the date that we meet up in Naples, since then, have lost 18.5lbs. Not a large amount, but I guess enough were you would see a difference next time we meet up! I feel great, just wish the body looked like I felt. I was talking to the other Mom I carpool with yesterday, she's about a 1/2" taller than me and weighs the same as I do-she is so fit looking, no rolls of blubber/skin hanging off her, can wear fitter tank tops-I sure as heck can't. I think that bothers me, working so hard and not being able to see the results on the body, though I can on the scale. Are we ever happy?:?:
Eli's on his way home, so I'm going to exit off of here. I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll check in sometime tomorrow!

Evening everyone.
Well I had a really really really bad eating day. I cant figure out how I could have totally screwed up. I knew not to do it but I did it anyway. Now I will have to suffer the consequences. I was looking in the freezer and found some halloween candy, yup you guessed it I went crazy and had about 10 pieces.
I mean how can 1 person be so dedicated and give in to temptation, makes me wonder if I am committed enough to this woe. Im afraid Ive let yall and myself down. Alls I can do now is to pick myself up and start again tomorrow with NEW RESOLVE.
Sorry about the pity party, but confession is supposed to be good for the soul.
My dh is busy putting in our new livingroom floor, so Im taking a break from supervising :p, so Im taking a break and writing to yall. The cats are all freaked out with all the noises.
Well the weather turned cold today. Yesterday we had temps in the 70's my kinda of weather. I even mangaged to go out and mow the lawn in order to mulch all the leaves that had fallen off the trees. Alot of my plants suffered frost damage though.
Well guess I better go check in and see how the hubby is doing.
Everyone have a good weekend

I's so pooped I can barely type so this may be short if I fall asleep at the keyboard. I keep waking up in the middle of the nite too, Zanne, tho no little one to blame it on. I don't know if I need to switch meds since my body tends to adjust to them every few years and they don't work anymore, or I just need to drink less water:?:.
I joined a gym last night and went in today to do an upper body workout. One of those eye-popping, grunt and groan ones. Very ladylike. I only did Upper Body, but my knees were wobbly when I left. THEN, I remembered that I had agreed to take a friend's tennis lesson time since it was already paid for. So home I went to stuff myself with as much protein as I could gag down in hopes of reviving my sagging bod, picked up ds at school, grabbed racquets cause he had a kid group lesson, and hit the court. The pro really worked me but I made it through the hour, scooped up ds and fed him at McD's (nope, I didn't even breathe the French Fries!), dumped him off at cub scouts and came home and took the longest, hottest shower the hot water heater would allow.:) Now at least I'll pass out clean. If I don't post tomorrow, you'll know it is because my arms are too sore to lift to keyboard level.
Deb- I can TOTALLY sympathize with the scale saying one thing and the mirror another! My first pregnancy was a 60 pounder, mostly gained in the first 4-5 months and I'd been anorexic to start with. The skin on my stomach is basically shredded, so even when I get to weight and fitness goals, it's still gonna be hanging around. Real depressing. The only thing I can say is we know what we've done, or will have done in my case, and we know where we've been. So even if you can't wear a tank top and I can't wear tucked in knits, it sure is better than it was!
Fillise- So sorry to hear about the MRI results. Is the pain med helping? I hope so. Let us know how you are doing.
Sef- You do have a full time job! You are the ultimate volunteer! The world need millions more of you, but the rest of us are full of excuses. Not you!
Sorry I can't get to everyone, I'm losing it. Speaking of losing it, I think I must have missed a few posts- there are some disjointed conversations on here and some things aren't making sense! I know at least one of my posts disapeared....
bye, nitey-nite.

HELLO? HELLO? IS THIS THING ON????
Okay, I'm a goober. I just couldn't believe the thread was down. AND I can't believe we lost our posts.... I am sad. :( But very glad to have it back up.
One of my co-workers posted yesterday and now we can't see it. AND one of the girls from my gym may start posting as well. We were next to each other at the Leg Press and Leg Extension machines and I had seen her a few times before tonight so I knew that she was serious about working out. I told her I was so tired I almost didn't come - she said she had gone through the same thought processes as I had and both of us were glad to have gone to the gym even if the work-out was less than stellar. (I know a big part of my decision was because of the HALF MARATHON we're going to be in next year. - THANKS FROG AND DEBBIE!) Anyway.........I told her about SB and the board and she is going to check us out. :D
I'm going to make CHEESECAKE this week-end to take into the office on Monday. I'm so excited to get to share this with them AND be able to partake of something so yummy! I looked up the recipe I used and it's FILLISE'S recipe adapted from Southern Living, I think. FILLISE it's YUMMY!! I may make DEBBIE'S recipe, too, but that one will stay at home with me and Vince. :s:
FILLISE I'm also praying for a simple solution to your disc and speedy healing. Please keep us informed.
QUILTER Been there - done that - got the t-shirt. I still remember the look on my Dr.'s face when I went in after having gained 25 lbs. AND the look on the jeweler's face when so soon after getting married they had to expand my wedding ring. You're among friends here, Girlfriend, and we're pulling for you and we KNOW you can do this!! Don't climb back on that scale, just start doing what you know to do and let your clothes be your guide for a while if the scale is too stressful. Start walking a little bit each day. Look at the calendar and plan to walk the half marathon with us in January next year. 52 weeks from now. And by all means
[B]KEEP POSTING!!! I miss you when you're not on here.
DEBBIE You ARE skinny!!! NOT in a bad way skinny. Maybe THIN would be a better word. You have incredibly athletic thighs and calves and you're very nicely proportioned - a good size for your height and frame, I think. I think your family may be just having a hard time to adjusting seeing you at a different size than you've been your whole life. You are not anorexic or emaciated looking - just a very healthy, athletic, thin looking babe.
MARIE I'm sorry that you have the same trouble that I have getting the weight off. I hope that your body lets you give me a run for my money and I hope my body lets me catch up with you soon!
Last night Vince and I got to watch Survivor with FROG and DH We had healthy chicken salads and FROG was downing the water. She let me touch her medal! Really, it's a VERY NICE medal and one to be darn proud of!!! Next year many of us on this board will have medals and FROG will have her THIRD WDW medal to add to her collection. We had such a great time visiting and sighing and moaning and yelling at the TV. It's a good thing there weren't many other people around us.
This week-end is going to be busy with a bunch of reports I have to finish for work, but I will be getting my arse out there to walk the 3.5 mile loop - and hopefully this time I'll get it done in under 1 hour. I want to get that loop down to a much lower time before I start adding distance - otherwise my whole day will be spent trying to walk. Sunday will be a light "stroll" for a shorter distance - to do something, but not too much so my body can rest.
SHEANN Apologies if it's not you and if I spelled your handle wrong - I'm typing from memory. I'm one of those people who eat all day. I have to or I don't get all my calories in and/or I'm not just hungry, but I get FUNGRY!! Here's a typical day for me (when I'm eating right):
Bfast (5-5:30am - 4 egg whites cooked/scrmbld/fried and 1/3 cup dry oatmeal cooked with blueberries or 2 pces WW toast or 1 cup Uncle Sam or smaller amt. mixed with All Bran cereal (sometimes I eat the carbs first and the eggs when I get to work around 7am)
mid morning (about 9am) pce of fruit or 8 oz. non-fat plain yogurt with protein powder scoop
lunch (about 11am) salad, sandwich, lef overs with some veggie
afternoon snack (about 2 or 3 pm) piece of fruit and sometimes some cheese or triscuits
dinner (6:30 - 7:30 depending on schedule) steak & steamed veggie (broccoli, asparagus, green beans - usually) or salmon steak a& steamed veggie, Turkey Mignon and steamed veggie or one of the SB recipes or Salad....
I hope that helps give you an idea of how you can eat throughout the day and still lose weight.
I probably have exceeded the message length...... so I'll get back on later this week-end.
 Have a good night everyone~!

I've just come in the door from O-town (stopped in Fayetteville) to get Miss Puppy.
I have a horrible cold and the dog is already starting to reject me because of my cough! Have a fever of 100* too! Yuck! This is not that uncommon after a race, especially that one, it really took it outta me. But it's over now! :D So I will have to post a note tomorrow if I am feeling better!
Thanks TONS! for all your support! Can't wait to fill you in on the details and how great the FLA girls all are.
Peace,

Hi all,
I've been out-of-pocket for almost a week. Seems that my schedule has become really full, and I don't have much time now to get to the computer, much less read the posts and then post myself. Just wanted to let you know that I hadn't died!
Glad to see you set the 1/2 marathon as a goal, SolShine. It should be an interesting and challenging year getting ready. I figured that if we had run all the way from my house out to Disney, it would have been just about marathon length. And that's a long way. I, myself, have no plans to run next year, but I will cheer you on. My years of running and playing tennis have taken somewhat of a toll on my knees, and after have surgery on one knee already, I don't do the running thing anymore.
I am now officially in the Monday night study class that my daughter is in. We had been meeting every Monday night for dinner and girl talk, and some mother daughter bonding. She agreed to go to a Bible Study class, one that is world wide, if I would go. She happened to get into one of the small discussion groups in December, so I was just dropping her off after we had dinner. Now they have found room for me in another small group, so now I will have to be preparing a lesson each week. That, on top of my French class, plus another couple of projects I have taken on, have kept my nose to the grind stone.
Well, I'm gonna sign off. Need to get in some French studying before bed. I am planning on going over the the community college next week and sit in on a French II class. The teacher invited me, and I can decide if I want to add that to what I am already doing when summer comes.
Take care.
Rosalie

Deb - Yesterday I ordered beef and eggplant curries and basmati rice. I also had some curried lentils and some peas and mushrooms. There were three of us. We usually order a meat dish each and several other veggie dishes which we share. Also had a starter of some deep fried veggies. Probably not legal, I am not quite sure what was in them, but they sure did taste good. I was almost tempted to have the Tandoori fish but couldn't make up my mind what to have with it but I've been thinking about it ever since. May go back there soon just to try out the fish. Maybe treat myself to lunch one day. It was a classical concert we went to with the Toronto Philharmonia Orchestra. All classical music that had been used in movies. Thanks for checking out the shipping costs for the Agave. I really appreciate your offer to send some up this way but I do think it would be quite expensive by the time you figure out the exchange rate. It would work out to about C$32 for shipping at the present rate. I tried checking out Frankferd Farms but I can't figure out how to find the shipping rates to Canada. I'll wait and see what these other guys have to say. Congrats on your all time low. That's fantastic and I am sure you look great.
Kim - Just take things slowly and set yourself mini goals and I am sure you will achieve them. We are all here to help you along the way.
Sef - You say you couldn't handle a job but it sounds like you are working almost full time already.
Marie.

good morning everyone,
well iam in a better state of mind. Decided that there will be no more screaming matches with the nephew anymore. I now know he is playing games with me. He goes to grandma"s house after school now that she is back from germany. and would you believe the very next day after he couldnt do division with me he had NO problems doing it with her. i have decided not to stress out anymore because it not good for my prgnancy. The scale still shows no weight gain actually down a few pounds. I am really trying hard to stay legal and not gain too much would like to keep baby gain to 15-20lbs. My friend kathy also walked wdw marathon she brought in her medal which is the shape of mickey ears very nice. next year i will be doing the half i will be walking only no jogging ,running from this body.
SOL my friend who has helped me train says it is better to sart adding distance first and eventually time will come when i first started i started with 4 miles got that under my belt then when was getting as winded she moved me to 6 then 8 on weekend did 10. never did 13 until race day. Maybe one weekend soon we can get together and walk 4 or 6 dont worry i wont be too fast because iam not allowed now to get my heart rate elevated so i am walking slower than usual. anyway if not to walk it would nice just to get get together.
well got to go talk to you all later

It's raining here--very dreary--and my neck hurts. . .
BUT...
I'm down a pound this morning! So it's not such a bad day after all! Yesterday was kind of shakey, but I made it through and was rewarded this morning. The pain medication I'm on has created a Dookie Howser problem, so the loss is even more surprising. Last night before I went to bed I filled four water bottles and stuck them in the fridge as a reminder to get my water in.
Thanks to everyone who has and is sending their good thoughts my way for a speedy resolution to the neck problem. It is feeling a little better thanks to my new best friends the Lortabs and the heating pad! My Dr. wants to get me started on a series of steriod infections into my neck--which is really freakin me out. I'm generally not squemish--except when it comes to my back and neck (and the dentist, of course). I'm going to the orthopedic guy first to see if there is anything else we can do. I'm also taking some oral steriods so maybe that will help too. Too bad I'm banned from the gym with all the steroids I'll be getting!:s:
Frog--It's good to know that you are back home safely, if not soundly.:o I can't wait to hear about your race experience. We've been getting reports from your cheering squad--but I'm eager to hear from you. I hope the cold gets better soon.
Gator--So what do you think about your new coach? We've got new offensive and defensive coordinators for next year so it will be interesting to see what happens. We picked up the top rated quarterback and reciever in the state this week as recruits, so maybe we can play some offense next year! Good luck with your classes!
Deb--Congrats on the new low! WOOOHOOO girl!
Sue--when is your baby due? I think this WOE has got to be really good for pregnancy as the healthier the food, the healthier the baby! Good luck with your nephew. I have a niece about that age... so I know what you mean.
Sol--the cheesecake is yummy isn't it! I'm going to try a variation where I whip some SF lemon jello into the creme cheese (you let the jello chill to the concistency fo egg white and then whip it into the CC). to make a lemon cheesecake. I'll let you know how it works out!
I forget who asked about the low-carb meals in minuted cookbook. I saw the woman who wrote it on the food network this week and it looked good. I think I'm going to order it. The meals she did looked really tasty and really easy.
OK--off to get some chores done before I head out to run errands.
Have a good day everyone!

HiedieHo All!!!
It is a miserable, dank, hurting day! I decided I needed some sunshine so sat down to read the board. You girls always make me feel better. Even when someone says they are having a pity party, or griping, it just makes me think, "See you're not having such a lousy day!"
To all of you who had nice things to say about my volunteering. Let me tell you a couple of things about myself. 1) I'm a fraud. In public I try to cha-cha-cha, when I get home I can't hear the music any longer and try to rest and take care of me. 2) You don't volunteer for the praise, you do it because you know for your work experience that volunteers are desperately needed in all fields. They make the world go round.
Sometimes you have to find your niche. I wanted to volunteer at the community theater. I ushered once and wrote an article for their newsletter that received praise. But when I offered to usher or write again, they said they would be in touch, then said so and so could use help with PR but nothing has come of it. I think they are truly looking for people who can do physical work such as set painting and that's beyond me. They also seem to be a very close knit group which can cause problems. Maybe I'm just not pushy enough.
At any rate, I still have my church and choir activities, nursing home and Habitat. Habitat is taking me to a site PR with newspaper and would like me to write a weekly column for paper as well as newsletter which they try to get out whenever they can. We will see what develops. So thank you for kind words, I just do what I think needs to be done if possible.
SHEANN - We now have our men's olympic team. I don't think Todd will take gold though, he doesn't really have the quad and that is what it takes now. I think our best bet is Goebel (sp?) but he'll have a tough time against the Russians. I watched last night and there's more all this week. Love to watch the Olympics too.
QUILTER - Okay the numbers shocked you! But you stated all the things you have to do to get over that shock. Go for it girl!!!!! You have the power!
The wake was for the father/husband of church memebers.
CAT - You learned something I knew from my hard knock lessons in life. Freezers don't stop temptation. It's just too easy to zap things. Also some things taste pretty good frozen or half frozen. I think our best is the garbage disposal!!!
FROG - Glad you are home safe if not sound. Hope you feel better soon, can't wait for your post on your adventures!
Sat here long enough. Will try to check in later, hope all is well.
Take care, sef

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!! :p
It's BEAUTIFUL over here on the West Coast of FLA today..low 70's....no humidity....trade winds are behaving themselves....;)
Ran to the grocery to pick up a few things...have a couple of london broils in the oven and a PERDUE ROASTER thawing to fix tomorrow...trying to fix things that I can have for left overs to take for lunch. I"m going to fix Debbie's quiche tomorrow to have for breakfast...just need to pick upa few salad fixings tomorrow when I do the BIG SHOPPING :dizzy:
I agree with KIMMY on the numbers thing...There used to be a person on this board who was very pushy and she always made it a point to direct something toward my never putting my numbers in my signature. I lost about 35 pounds originally on SB and then for what ever reason or another...(lately it's been quitting smoking) I've just not done especially well with my eating. I've made up my mind though that I'm going to do it this time...I'm now almost 10 full months not smoking, and the cravings have subsided...I've managed to raise my cholesterol considerably by eating all the chocolate a woman could ever want...I've neglected totally eating healthy, and OH....MY....GAWD.....IT'S...TIME....TO....DO...SOM ETHING...ABOUT...IT....AND....STOP...MAKING...EXCU SES!!!!
The one good thing is that I don't have to go far for the support that I need....YOU'RE ALL RIGHT HERE!!!! :^:
For all of you NEWBIES....you will learn in time just how great everyone is on this board...there will always be someone here to help...
SEF...You do A LOT of good for A LOT of people...take a bow!!! YOUR DESERVE IT!!!
FROGGIE glad you and the DH are home safe and sound..I know that DIXIE is glad to see you...how about the cat??? Fix yourself a HOT "SHINE" TODDY ...sit down and put your feet up....you'll be fine in no time!!
SUE...glad you're in a better mind frame...it's not worth giving yourself a stroke over...
MEL...GET SOME REST GIRL!!!! You're gonna end up sick yourself...
GATOR...you're going to have so much culture that we're not going to be able to keep up with you...Glad you're spending more time with your daughter...did you ever get her to quit smoking?
What are your thoughts on the new coach?
MISSY....thanks for the funnies...I've passed them along to everyone...
MARIE...how's your weather up there? I've never been a fan of curry, but I have a friend who says I've never eaten it correctly.
I'm just now getting to like THAI food...
I love concerts...wish I could get to more...
DEB...Isn't this weather great???? Have you heard from Nancy today? We're going to have to get her back on the board full time..Guess I better practice what I preach huh?
Later gals...I'm trying to get all my laundry done from my trip..I've been doing it in shifts...

Hi everyone!! I'm an ex-board member who has lost her way. It's been so long - I can't even remember my old userid so I had to create a new one!!
Anyway - other than Deb (I am thrilled that you reached your goal) - I don't know anyone here but am looking forward to making some new friends
I am hypoglycemic and basically out of shape. Only about 5-10 lbs overweight but not feeling healthy right now. Want to recommit to Sugar Busters as of today.
I live in Westminster CO, have been working as a software developer at Qwest (formerly USWest) - for 24 years (actually the first 9 were at AT&T). My new job location requires that I drive about 45 mins each way - so they let me work at home twice a week which is great.
Great to see that this board is so active and you are even meeting each other. Maybe next summer (if Qwest ever gets
their profit back and pays me a decent bonus...

Hey Everybody! Hope you all are having a relaxing weekend.
DEB---Thanks for your words of encouragement. I firmly believed and am enrolled in what you are saying. I should focus on something other thanthe scales right now. I can’t imagine you being 18.5 pounds smaller than you were in last March. You were tiny THEN. So you must be super tiny NOW. Good for you!!! What a great reward for all your hard work. Your carpool friend probably has rolls of flab; she’s just a master of disguise. And maybe she’s been at that weight a longer time. The longer you are down in these low numbers, the more of your flab will go away. Right? Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to work??? I sure hope so for all our sakes. LOL
SOL---You’re the best!!! Ilove the bit about “got the t-shirt.” Yes, I’ve been noticing that my diamond is a bit snug. Thanks for the warning. Because I don’t even want to have to get it altered. I am definitely going to take your advice and use my clothing as a guide. That half marathon sounds really inviting and fun. I walked a 5-mile walk for breast cancer research in October and that was a piece of cake. Of course, I hadn’t started to gain all this excess yet. It was so much fun. three friends walked with me. It was a great day. We crossed the river into northern KY and looped back around to the OH side. Anyway, keep up your work and your 3.5 loop and you’re surely to continue with your success.
ROSALIE---Thanks for the words of encouragement. What’s the old adage . . . slow and steady wins the race. I need to focus in on the steady part.
FILLISE---I know it’s not the same thing, but I had to have shots in my neck when I was having my thyroid cysts biopsied. They called it fine needle aspirations. I was pretty nervous and squemish about somebody jamming a needle into my neck. But it was really not bad at all. I think I had that procedure done three times before having the surgery and it wasn’t something I dreaded. Of course, I don’t know anything about how your steroid injections will be. But just wanted to offer some words of encouragement from someone else who’s been jabbed in the neck. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that you find an alternate treatment that does the trick. Also . . . thanks for the link for the palm products. That’s great! Can’t wait to see what’s there.
SEF---Yippee for you. You know I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED your comments about volunteers. They sure are wonderful in our organization. Each time a train a group of new tutors, I tell them about a zillion times that they are equal to gold. No, more precious than gold!!! You are right when you say that vols make the world go round. It’s amazing what great things can occur when someone gives a couple of hours a week. Okay, I’ll get off my soap box now. Let me say that the community theatre screwed up BIG TIME!!!! There was a good reason why you weren’t supposed to be there. And it’s probably better for you that you aren’t with them. But boy, did they miss out on a gem. Their loss!
Well, BOB---I am agreeing back with you. You are so right!!! It’s time to do something!!! I emailed Deb and told her about Bob Greene’s latest book called get with the program. He talks about how important the first step is which is to get your MIND IN PROPER ORDER. He give you this quiz of questions, like Do you procrastinate? and Do you think as soon as you lose all the weight you need to you will be happy? Then he helps you work through each of these questions with writing activities. It makes perfect sense to me. I think we are both getting our MINDS in order so that we can get our BUTTS IN ORDER. I wish I were your neighbor so you could invite me over for dinner. Yummy. I’ll bet Skeeter boy is drooling with all the good smells coming out of your kitchen. Eat well and eat healthy. You are motivating me to get to the store and get something for the crock pot. Last week I put a turkey breast in the crock pot and cooked it all day. Boy was it moist!!! And so tender. We had turkey on our salads for a few days then I made a huge pot of turkey noodle soup. Wonderful!!! Soothing to the soul.
RLSIMON---Welcome back. If you have been lurking long you’ll know that many of us are back from a wee bit of a vacation. Yours was just a little longer. It’s SO GREAT that you are treating yourself to a healthy lifestyle and a healthy way of eating. GOOD FOR YOU!!!! You know that we are all here to help each other and you will get tons of support from us. Good luck! Get those cupboards cleaned out and get your SB legal stuff in them.
Well, I think I’ll take BOB’s cue and get my shoes on and get to the store. I’m thinking maybe a good sized pork or beef roast. My honey is sick. He’s been in the bed since Tuesday and I think it’s time to get him some good protein to kick his butt in gear. Yummy. Do we have a good barbecue recipe??? Just wondering.
Take care everybody.

It's Saturday and I feel sorta down in the dumps. Can't really say why, just sad inside. Can't even say it's cabin fever because we are having beautiful weather. I just don't want to go out and enjoy it.
I lost another pound and am about to break into the 160s. Deb, tell me again how to figure out the calorie intake I need to keep losing weight and from going into stavation mode.
Fellise: I'm praying for you, too. My mom had a disk problem in her neck and I know how much pain she was in before the surgery. Hope you feel better.
Frog: Welcome home and congrats on your accomplishment. Hope you feel better, too.
Viv: I know how you feel about posting responses to everyone. I feel guilty when I don't have time, but enjoy everyone on this board. I do the best I can and hope those I don't address personally will know that I'm still thinking about you and rejoice in your successes and empathize with your challenges.
Kim: Welcome back. I'm glad you have recovered fully from your surgery last fall. Just hop on the wagon with the rest of us and let's go. We have to remember to take one day at a time. Just like the 12 step programs say.
Cat: You remember that, too. One day at a time. Don't give up just because of a slip. Tomorrow is another day, as my old friend Scarlet said. I love that movie!
OK, the exercise isn't coming as consistently has I'd hoped. I need to get somebody in this house to nag and nag until I've done my workout. I'm still going to go to the Y and begin a program there. Maybe later today. :s:
Time to do some more laundry and practice my violin again for tomorrow.
Have a great weekend, ladies! :)
Take care,
Jeanie

Yes, it's been about 6 weeks, but I'm back now. I let the holidays carry me away and undo most of the good I had done the first six months of 2001. I did it before and I can do it again. I'm with you RHOO, BOB and KIM about not putting the current numbers down. It's kind of depressing. Although, I'm down from Monday, when I again went sugar-free (as much as possible!). I'm really detoxing, too, as I've had this nagging little headache off and on, mostly Monday and Tuesday. It's almost completely gone now. This coming week I will be getting the exercise going again. (One thing at a time for me!) We purchased a glider/walker in December and I will be combining that with the treadmill. I have some exercise stretch bands that act like weights that I will be using, too. I think that incorporating the strength workout with the aerobic is the most efficient. Now I just have to get off my lazy butt!
It's great to see so many new names. This is a great place to be for support!
DEB - Thanks for the info on North Farms. They have a store about 2 miles from my house and I was able to order a case of agave to pick up right there.
FROG - Way to go on the marathon. What a great accomplishment! Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time. Send some of that snow this way! The ski resorts and snowmobilers are complaining big time! Can you believe that you have had more snow than we have here in southern Wisconsin? Actually had 53 degrees here the other day. I think it was warmer here than in Florida!
I'm sorry I can't respond to everyone. I try to find the time to read the posts so I'm keeping up (barely) on the high points of what's going on with everyone. But I didn't take notes and my brain has shrunk to the size of a dried pea over the years. I promise to jump in here and there and give my 2 cents, though, just to keep you on your toes!
Anyone heard from Sparklescamp?
Well, almost time to get my DS to his basketball game. I'll try to check in later!

Hello All
WOW! This place is really jumpin!
First of all, I'm gonna say, like others have told me, don't worry if you can't post to everyone. We understand that sometimes (or a lot of times) you just can't get to everyone. It's just nice to see a note from you so we know how you're doing. Try not to feel guilty (I know it's hard not to). Just remember we're all here for you, no matter what.
On that note, I just can't get to everyone. I can barely see the screen and can't keep my brain focused too long.
Still didn't get a good night's sleep last night. I think I havn't gotten back to the preholiday sleep routine. My head is sooooo foggy. My body's stressing on me, I can tell. Chest feels constricted and there are points on my back that hurt. Doc told me these points are where the stress "comes out". I took Lorazapam last night, but maybe it's too old--Got it last year when I was really stressing about life. Gonna have DH pamper me and give me a message! ;) Maybe a couple of Benedryl--they make me really sleepy.
I've kept pretty much SB legal with the food today. Still not enough calories. I may try to do a cardio workout--that usually helps with sleep. Then I can do weights tomorrow. I know it's out of order, but I don't want my first BFL week to be a bust. Either that, or I'll start over on Monday.
Thanks for listening to me gripe!
Rosalie Marie--I've sent an email to The Big Carrot HFS in Toronto asking if they sell agave and what size/price/color etc. I'll let you know what I hear. I still can't believe the price from that place in BC.
BOB CONGRATS on being smoke free for 10 months. That is quite an accomplishment. We don't care if you put your numbers up or not. It's a personal thing. We're just here to give you support to help you get healthier. 2001 was your year to stop smoking, maybe 2002 can be your year to good health.
Fillise I hope your neck is better soon. You're a real trooper for not letting it keep you down. I saw this while browsing at the Mayo Clinic site, if you're interested.
www.mayoclinic.com/takecharge/healthdecisionguides/herniateddisk/index.cfm
WELCOME to any new people here. This is a great place for support.
WELCOME BACK to those who've been away for a while.
Better go get supper ready. Talk to you later.

Zanne - Have you visited Ambrosia lately? My son just called to see if I needed anything from there and he just called back to say they have both the light and the dark Agave Nectar. He's picking me up a couple of bottles. Just thought I would let you know it's available again.
Marie.
Zanne

I'll go get a couple of bottles tomorrow! The last time I was there, there was a big space where the agave should have been so I was hoping they would fill it.

Well, I have a few minutes to relax before I hit the French books. I want to get a few hours of study in that foreign language under my belt before the weekend is over. I spent all day at a meeting about 1 hour away from here, but got home at 4:30, so had some time to straighten up the house, etc. before dinner.
BOB--No, my DD still smokes. I believe she would like to stop down deep inside, but just doesn't have the fortitude to stop now. I hope she doesn't wait until she is your age!!! I wish she would stop yesterday!!!! Anyway, I don't say anything about it anymore. She knows how I feel, and I am working hard at having a really positive relationship with her, and saying anything about it would not add to the relationship. Keep her in your prayers regarding this. I know how hard you worked to achieve success in quitting, and I KNOW what a challenge it was for you. My deepest congratulations for a job well done. I think if my DD would quit soon it would not be as hard as you had it.
BOB and Fillise--I hope you checked out the URL I posted about the most hilarious article regarding SOS's resignation and it's effect on all the other SEC teams. It was a scream. If you want the URL, let me know and I'll send it, or just send a copy of the article.
Re. the new coach, Zook. I guess I'll just support him because there is nothing to be gained by griping. We've got him now, and there's nothin' I can do about it. Jeremy Foley has done a good job in the past, and I hope he is still golden. Looks like Zook got a great Offensive Coord. So that's a positive. Now the Gators will be just like the rest of the teams without our super-sonic SOS. You guys probably won't hate us as badly because we won't be beating your b**ts so often. LOL
The other thing I thought about was that Stoops or Shanny probably did not like the prospect they faced if they had come in right after Spurrier. The only direction they could face was down, because how do you live up to what SOS achieved? If Zook doesn't cut it, then maybe Stoops or someone "great" can come back in and be the savior.
Been eating really good. Have been eating tons of veggies and just a bit of meat, chicken included. Lots of fresh veggies, and I'm getting used to it, too. My dr. upped my thyroid meds. and I have to have a blood test in 2 months to see if the present dosage is enough. Hopefully, that will help with losing some of my weight. My skirts and shorts are starting to get a little loose in the waist, so something must be happenin'.
Well, gotta go. All you other gals, know that I read all your posts, but I am not so faithfully organized like Debbie to reply to everyone. I am thinking about you all and wish you well this week in your SB endeavors.

good morning! Feels so good to be "back on track". I pulled out all of Sugar Buster cookbooks last night to plan my meals this week. What is Agave all about?
Kim - I also bought the new Bob Green book - Get back on the Program. Exactly what I need to do. Let me know what you think of it. I like that he has lots of journal "forms" to keep track of progress.
The board (look and feel) really has changed. What are vB codes?
And how do you get that icon under your name? Feels strange being a junior again. :D
Everyone here sounds very enthusiastic and positive.. I think the
board was kinda dragging down some when I was last here (Deb - has it been over a year? ) and its wonderful reading all of the supportive posts.
Have a great Sunday everyone - I will stop by later..

Good Sunday Morning Everyone:wave:
Thought I'd get in a post yesterday, but when I got on the board, it was really strange, the page was HUGE and I couldn't get it to go to the "regular" size. It was such a pain to try and read it as it was that I gave up, and then Michael went on the computer for the rest of the day, need I say more?? Anyhow, shut down the computer and figured it would fix itself, NO, it's still big! I have to use the bottom scroll bar to read the board-I HATE IT!!! Anyone have an solutions????? This is only seeming to happen on PAGE 3 of the board, not PAGE 1 or 2, and not any of the other boards-weird! Anyone having this same effect happen to them?
Got in my 4.5 miles in 46:35 today, had to get myself psyched to go out, would of rather of stayed in bed today. Scale is up, but to be expected, TOM is due in about 4 days:rolleyes:
CAT, we always say that if you have a bad day, as long as you jump right back on track, you probably will be okay. It's when you have a bad day and it goes on and one that's the problem. We all have those days, whether it be eating non-SB legal foods, or SB legal foods in illegal amounts (like I do often). Doesn't do you a bit of good to beat yourself up about this, just try to find out WHY and avoid doing it again and again. This is a learning experience, so we have to learn what makes us tick sometimes!
MEL, you are worrying me a bit, you are starting to sound like SPARKLESCAMP did when she was over-exercising. Please, be careful! Too much is not good for you either-just like food! Yes, you are right, we are sure better than what we were!!!
SOL, can't believe it was just last week that we were together cheering FROG on! Would love to turn back the hands of time:) I hope the gal from your work will repost, tell her that was a rare occurance, the board being down like that. Maybe parts of my body are skinny (head, feet, hands), but see, those black stretchy pants I wear really hold in the flab that sags from my thighs-they work really well, think of those as SUPPORT HOSE that the old people have to wear! Thanks, I too don't think I look emaciated-and the family has stopped saying that recently, so maybe they are getting use to what normal on me looks like. I'm happy you got to see FROG & BILL before they left-jealous, but happy:D LOL! I loved the FUNGRY you talked about, have to add that to my vocabulary. I use the word FUGLY at times!!
FROG, glad to hear you're home, safe and sound, but not to hear you're sick. You'll have to give us the skinny on everything once you have the time and feel up to it. Miss you already!!!!
GATOR, how about the half marathon, walking?
ROSALIE, dinner sounded nice, and so did your concert-always nice to get out! Totally forgot about the exchange rate-what a ditz I am! Yes, that could get to be some mighty expensive agave, and I can see where even if they come out with some new stuff, it would be like spending a fortune for a tiny bottle.
ZSU, just throwing my 2 cents in as a by-stander on your Nephew, but do you think he does this with the thought that you'll get so frustrated/angry/upset that you'll send him home to his parent's? How many minutes did your friend Kathy finish the marathon in? That would be great if we had a good size group doing the marathon next year-hopefully we can be TEAM STARBUCKS!!!!
FILLISE, CONGRATS being down another pound! That's wonderful news among all the pain you are expereincing! When you get your new cookbook, maybe you'll do a review of it for us???
SEF, try not to downplay all the good you do-you do a lot, we all see this in your posts and I for one, envy that you do all of this, whether it be being asked to do so, or just volunteering on your own. I admire you too;)
BOB, yes, it was beautiful yesterday, overcast today though. Big boy is off today, so Ole Ole is in the near future, among other stops along the way. Okay, so when you get your laundry done, pack some on up and make your way here for a visit-you're long over due and a weekend at the DETOX DUNGEON would do you good!
RSIMON (that was the old screen name, I believe), WELCOME BACK! Glad you're back and have decided to hop back on the board with us!!!! Hope to see you posting like you use to do!;)
QUILTER, tiny now, tiny then, in stature. I doubt you'd see much of a difference anywhere else on me. I sure don't! You are right about the gal we carpool with, she's always been tiny and a few pounds lost on her is a big deal. Boy, do I hope you are right about the skin, that would be great!!!!!!!!!!!
JRED, CONGRATS on another pound loss! Hope you're out of your funk now, must of been something hormonal. To figure out your caloric intake, if you are moderately active, take your current weight and x by 12, that's what your caloric intake would be to stay where you are-then deduct 500-700 calories from that number and that's about where you should be for daily calories. More detailed info is on the TIPS & TOOLS BOARD, I believe.
KAREN, welcome back after your short hiatus! Lucky you to have North Farms so near you! Bet it's a great place!!!
ZANNE, just a quick hello!
Have to run, Eli is off and I need to get in the shower. Will check in tonight and have the new weekly board up and running tomorrow morning!

Deb - you would be very disappointed in the North Farm store. It is a tiny outlet where they sell overstock and soon-to-expire food, and it's about the size of my living room and kitchen put together. But it is close and I picked my order up the day after I called it in. That's pretty convenient.
Big football day here - have to go and cheer the Packers on!
Have a good one, everybody!

HiedieHo All!!!!
Just a quick post. Thanx for all th nice words.
Sometimes being nice pays off, so to speak. I had a nice suprise today. The work I did last Wednesday for choir really was above and beyond the call! The director was so appreciative that she wanted to take me to lunch. So after church we went to Picadilly's. Where we met up with some other people from church. So we all got a big table and really had a good time. I thought that was so nice of Karen.
After I went to Sam's to pick up a few things, cream cheese for instance to have enough to make Deb's Cheesecake for women's meeting Tuesday. I have never seen the shelves so bare. Couldn't get a couple of things I wanted. Oh well, such is life.
Will try to check in later.
Take care, sef

Boy Howdy what a weekend this has been! Spent ALL day on the couch yesterday with a fever, chills body aches, dizziness, the works! Fever broke last night and I am better today. What a lovely way to spend the last 3 days of my vacation.
Well, concerning the vacation... Certainly the highlight was getting to meet the ladies from the board! What a warm welcome SOL gave us! DH and I were the first to arrive. Vince opened the door and I said, "Are we at the right place?" and he said, "I don't know, where are you supposed to be?" We liked him instantly. Then SOL comes in to the room. I'm here to tell you that this girl GLOWS! It's as if she's swallowed a light bulb! Their place is great and exudes good "love" vibes! Next came DEB and Eli, two truly magnificent and loving people. BTW - Vince and Eli are excellent huggers! Eli wowed us with some cappucinos later in the day. DEB comes in looking like a Jewish Santa Claus, loaded with gifts, food, personal items to share, etc. And lemme tell ya: REGARDLESS of what DEB says, she is a teeny little thing. She is honest when she talks about what she describes as her problem areas, and honestly I don't think there is a chance that anyone will ever get her to see herself as WE see her, but that doesn't matter, it is how DEB feels about herself that is important. I like her for who she is and not about to attempt to change her, just like teasing her about it.
GATOR, ZSU and BKM also arrived with arms loaded with d-lish dishes. DH enjoyed his opps to get to know ZSU and GATOR over lunch and dinner. BKM and I chatted at lunch and I apprecaited the heartfelt advice she offered regarding handling Spewer. {{{HUG}}} Thanks BKM! All of these ladies were so great to get to talk to face to face and to know on a more personal level.
If you have board members near you or you are traveling near some, YOU MUST GET TOGETHER! It is a meaningful experience! My DH is a pretty private guy and can be a tough nut to crack. Being part of a board like this would NEVER be his thing, much less, meeting "strangers" met online. But he was truly overwhelmed at the graciousness and kindness exhibited all of you! Thanks for making him feel welcome too.
THE RACE
Well... many of you know that I have been nursing a "sad toe" and problems with my right iliotibial band (ITB). You'll be happy to know that neither bothered me on race day, however I am going to lose that toenail (Yummy) - just hope that it grows back in time for sandal season. My LEFT ITB decided to act up instead and plagued me the ENTIRE race! It started hurting when I would transition from running back to walking, and the longer I ran the more painful the transitions became. By mile 23 I was whincing in pain, by 24 I was crying and ran most of the last 2 miles, completely ignoring the need to walk because it hurt to much to get going again. I guess I cried most of the last 2 miles. Such a pretty site! I was really dealing with it pretty good until about mile 22 or so. One of the Red Cross officials on the course at about mile 24 was offering me assistance and glucose tablets! I stopped at the medic tents about 4 times for Tylenol and muscle rub that just washed off as fast as I could rub it on. I also had to stop and stretch as often as I could, but once it began to MONSOON on us I would have had to sit in a water puddle to sit and stretch. That brings us to the rain factor. I have NEVER run in rain like that! OMG it was a deluge! When you're in rain like that your shoes become soaked and weigh much more than normal and your feet NEVER dry out. In fact, it was kinda funny, when DH and I took our shoes off at the finish line our feet were steaming! Literally!!!
My time was slower than I had hoped for, but given the circumstances of pain and weather, I will take the 30 minute improvement in my time. Overall, I have so much to be thankful for, and proud of. I think this one means more than the first one because of the pain demons  I had to battle and the comeback I've made with my weight loss. It is also meaningful to know that others have been inspired to take on a distance event as a result of this.
I was THRILLED! to see those glow-sticks waving in the dark at the start and AMAZED that DEB and SOL were willing to get up that early  to see the start! But is an exciting thing to see and always makes me weepy. It was so motivating to keep going knowing they were out there scanning the crowds for us and wishing us well. I was hoping they weren't getting soaked in the rain as we were, but I think poor Eli got the worst of that! I know they wanted to be at the finish line, but it's probably a good thing they weren't. I was very emotional, openly sobbing after I crossed the finish line. I think if y'all had been there I would have lost it BIG TIME! It is such an emotionally charged event.
We enjoyed a short visit with DEB and Eli on Sunday evening. She brought some awesome frog house shoes, a gift from her and SOL. My energy zapped, I feel sure that my excitement over such a thoughtful gift wasn't conveyed. SO thanks again guys! DH and I had fun watching the Survivor finale with SOL and Vince in the lobby. The salad was great and much appreciated after a week of "Disney food."
One evening after we came back from the parks we were happy to hear that we had a package in the lobby. It turns out to be the posts that SOL had printed for me to read. It was GREAT to read what was going on with everyone. Many of your posts made me smile and laugh out loud.
DH and I went to EPCOT on Monday and hobbeled around on tired and sore legs. We looked like all the other marathoners in the parks. My feet were swollen for several days and my knee hurt about that long too. By Wed we were in pretty good shape and could move around a lot faster. :D By Thursday I was getting sick, DH had had a shorter bout of this crude earlier in the week, and was soo tired. We left Animal Kingdom after only a few hours to go home and sleep before SOL and Vince came over. Friday was nothing more than agony in the car. DH drove and I slept most of the way home. We pulled into IL's town and got the Pup and headed home. I've slept in the guest room the past 2 nites "sick bay" and hope to finally get my first nite in MY bed in over a week. Ahh, the simple pleasures in life.
DEB - Thanks again for everything! When are you coming to NC? I want to get it on my calendar. Hey to ELI! Remember to register early for the 1/2 marathon. Registration for it closes before June. I wouldn't wait past April if I were you guys. It's Sunday nite... do you know where your scale is?
SOL - You go girl! Run that 1/2 marathon if you want. I was looking at your numbers (weight) and you are not that far from where I was at the beginning of 2001. You could easily continue to lose weight while you exercise, while also building your fitness level and increasing your distance. I estimate that I ran the 2000 marathon at about 170 and ran this one at 150. You saw for yourself the different body types and fitness levels in the race. Aim high, I can tell that you are a person that can do what she wants once she sets her mind to it. I agree with ZSU about working on your distance and then going for time. You will eventually get faster as you become more comfortable with the longer distances. Also, don't address every workout the same way. All don't have to be the same distance or at a faster pace. You may find that you will benefit from moving faster for 2 miles on day and then slightly slower for 3.5 on another. But the most important thing is just to move your body! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT and I'm proud of you for setting the goal. And if you and DEB and any others are there then I will be too! See my note to DEB about registration.
GATOR - Sorry I didn't link up with you on Sunday. I appreciate you making the effort. Thanks to your DH too, it was great of him to come to dinner Sat nite. Look forward to seeing you next Jan.
BOB - GIRLLLL You betta be there next year! We won't be having any snow storms or family vacations to hold you back! NO EXCUSES. I know you have been on a bit of a see-saw with your weight, but I am most proud of you for stopping smoking, that is the single healthiest thing you could do for yourself. Now that that is behind you, you can focus on some other part of your health. Tackle these vices one at the time. I, for one, am certainly in your corner! Hang tough, if you can quit smoking you can do anything! Regarding the canine and the feline, thank heavens the feline isn't put off by my illness (Dixie HATES coughing!) because she has been my buddy the past two days. She had 2 friends come and check on her while we were away. She stayed inside on the front porch and looked happy to see us. Dixie goes back to the vet tomorrow morning for repeat bloodwork to see if her liver enzymes have improved.
FILLISE - Sorry to hear about your back. Hope that you are feeling better soon. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
QUILTER - SOO happy to see you back on the board. You have been missed by all us old gals.
EVERYONE ELSE - There is no way under the sun I can respond to all the events on the board and all the 8 pages of posts. Thanks again to all the well wishes and cheers. Welcome newbies. You've found your way to a great group of friends.
Well, time to go stretch out on the couch again. Hope you all have a great week.
THANKS AGAIN to the online  s that you are!
Peace,
FROG

Thanks so much for the info, Deb and for reminding me about the other board. I didn't even think about looking there.
The funk was a little better. Have you ever had the pastor's sermon hit you right in the face? Well, that's what happend to me today. Our music was quite inspiring and singing the anthem that we did makes me cry, anyway. That, combined with the way I was feeling and the message just made the tears flow. I know the ladies sitting next to me must have wondered what in the world was wrong. So, I have to remember what I heard today and do just what he said and get myself feeling good again.
I do hope this is not the taste of things to come (THE CHANGE! ) My DD has raging hormones and mine are waning.:p
Hope everyone has a great week. We'll be busy but have a long weekend to look forward to.
Take care,
Jeanie

Evening All:wave:
Thought I'd try to get in a post before I hit the hay. Eli and I had a nice day out. My Sister decided to invite herself to go with us today, so we had an extra passenger with us. She wanted to run around to all the places we go to up in Broward, plus, I owed her lunch at Ole Ole, so she got her b.day present, about 7 months late! I ate entirely too-too much today, and boy, that scale is up (yes FROG, I sure do know where my scale is!!!!). Mom and Dad came by later and I fed them (no, I didn't cook, Eli did-want my parents to live a long healthy life!).
KAREN, we go to a place that sounds similar to North Farms, it's called BARGAIN BUSTERS, but my Mom and I call it the DIRTY FOOD STORE. Years ago, you'd have to take a wet nap with you to clean your hands after going in there-thank goodness it's cleaner now, but that name has stuck and that's what we call it. Sometimes you can find some great stuff, other times, it's a bust. Hey, at least they had the agave! What was the price you had to pay for it??
MEL, POOP!
SEF, that was a nice thank you you received. The way you work, they should give you a car!!!!;)
BOB, 4 hours? What the heck do you do for 4 hours at a grocery store? Do they have a STARBUCKS there? You know, it's just a tank of gas you need to come here-no one says we HAVE to shop and spend money, how about just coming for some R&R, and a little DETOX DUNGEON activity:s:
RHROO, it was in the low 80's here today! You can keep your snow, but can send about 10 degrees down here to me;)
FROG, glad to see your post, though not happy to hear you're still feeling under the weather. You are so sweet with the words you say, not only about myself, but the rest of the gals. I couldn't of said it better what you said about SOL and the way she glows, she's positively delightful! You made me laugh about the Jewish Santa Claus! You are right, it's hard for me to change my thinking about myself-see you haven't seen me naked standing in front of a mirror-my clothes hide all those flaws that are there. I'm sure, come Oct and seeing me in my skivies are sure to reveal some of those trouble spots-oh boy, you better bring some barf-bags!!!!!
JRED, glad to hear the funk has lifted! :D
Well, it's bedtime for Bonzo here. I'll post the new board in the morning. Please remember, it's MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY so if you have any inspiring words, stories, or quotes-please try to post them tomorrow!
Have lots of info to post for you all tomorrow-some important, some exciting! So, til tomorrow....
