How are we doing?!
Trying CORE can be the ticket for you. Something new always sparks me. I loved CORE. I couldn't stay on it real long but it sure gave me a boost.
I have been sticking to this for 3 weeks now. I think I lost 4 but I will see Friday.
Gotta fix dinner.
09-14-2007, 06:43 PM
I am going to go back and join AGAIN on Thursday. Why did you say that you were only on CORE for a while?
We have Matt for the weekend. It's cold! 40 degrees this morning.
HI  to everyone.
09-16-2007, 01:26 PM
40 degrees? WOW!!! I'll bet you are having a blast with Matt. Do you get each one once in awhile for a 1 on 1? We did that with my memaw and grandpa.
I liked it but it deprived me and I rebel against deprivation. I wish I didn't.
It is a great plan just to restrictive for me. I also think I ate too much. I am not good at realizing when I am satisfied. It carries over to full and then I realize I ate too much. When I can realize that I might try it again for a couple weeks.
I have a question. Brittany can't find our first week book with the quiz in it to tell how many points she needs (target points). Can anyone print the quiz on here so she can refigure her points? Thanks so much.
Gotta listen to the Steelers. Oh yeah! I lost 1.3 this week.
09-21-2007, 06:07 PM
Helloooo! Is there anybody out there?
Well, I went and joined WW last night. I'm on the CORE program and it's remarkably easy in terms of no journalling or counting. Have to do a good grocery shopping on Sunday for veggies and fruit.
Tomorrow we're celebrating Brandon's 12th birthday(which is actually on teh 27th) by taking the entire family to Medieval Times. He's been dying to go. Then we'll head back here for cake. Just one bite for me:)
Hi to everyone
09-21-2007, 10:40 PM
I LOVE MEDIEVIL TIMES. He will love it. We used to go a lot in Orlando when we lived there. Have a great time and tell Brandon Happy Birthday. WOW- 12!!!!! :bday2you::gift::woo:
Good luck on CORE. It is a wonderful plan.
09-23-2007, 05:22 PM
I left my Week 1 book at work, it's got the quiz in it. Tomorrow I'll send it to you.
Congrats on the loss! :cp:
Had fun at Medieval Times, the boys loved it.
The Core program is okay so far. I love the freedom of the plan. I'm very slowly getting a better idea of when and why I eat. This will take a while, I think.
09-24-2007, 09:52 AM
Hello my buddies  !!!
Its been a while. How is everyone doing?
Jen - :hb: to Matthew - I can't believe he's 12 already, holy moly! Glad you all enjoyed Medival Times. I'm gonna do that one day - is it true to you have to eat with your hands? Congrats on rejoining ww and good luck with core.
Hi Terri, Es, Sandy, ZoeGirl and Susan  Hope you are all well.
Willie and I just got back from visiting Steven in Florida, where we all went on a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and Key West. We had a great time. I actually did parasailing! It was fantastic. Up there in the air, so peaceful and serene and looking down at the beautiful green water. I told Alana my next dream is to Hang-glide. She thinks I'm nuts, lol.
As far as ww is concerned, I'm making a fresh start today. Certainly couldn't and wouldn't count points on the cruise, :p
Well, gotta get to work, but wanted to come in and say hi. Hope to be back soon.
09-25-2007, 06:50 AM
Glad you had a good trip. You are a brave soul! I am a chicken when it comes to heights.
I emailed you the WW quiz, cause I didn't know it if was ok to print it here, copyright and all that.
Core is going well so far. I know it's the honeymoon phase. It's not as time-consuming as counting points seemed to be. Recognizing the hunger stages is forcing me to really acknowledge my emotional desire for food.
HI  Es, Zoe, Susan, Sandy
09-27-2007, 10:34 PM
My first week on Core was good, I lost 4.4 pounds. I'm finally eating right, and it does not seem like a "diet". It's still new and I've got a lot to work on.
We're adopting two kittens! The animal control officer where I work routinely brings in kittens she's been called to rescue. I've resisted up till now, but last week fell for two little brothers she brought in. We're in the process of adopting them, but since they're only around 5 weeks old, we have to wait 3 weeks. :( One is all black, we've named him Jack. The other is a grey/brown tabby, he's Max. I cannot wait to have them here at home! It's been quiet and empty here with just Joe and I. Since he's travelling a bit more (he's been out of town since Tuesday this week) I really want a pet here with me.
Have a great weekend!
09-28-2007, 10:02 AM
Good morning everyone:
Jen - Congrats on the great loss :bravo:  Wow, fantastic job! Is Core easier than points system?
I've been going to the gym, even when willie doesn't want to go, I still go - that's the test for me, going alone, lol! I really want to get back on track and that will help alot, I know.
Es, amiga, how are you? Hi Terri, ZoeGirl, Sandy, Ruthie & Susan
Hope everyone is well - kinda quiet in here lately - miss everyone!
09-29-2007, 11:24 AM
I think it's wonderful that you're committed to working out. Don't you think that it's almost more important than what we eat? Having said that, I hang my head in shame because I have never liked it, barely do it, and don't want to! Walking is the only exercise I stick with... and even then I am not consistent.
Core does seem "easier" in terms of not journalling, counting points, etc. There's a list of foods allowed and that's it. It's kind of a no-brainer. I'm not playing with points to get the most out of them and using them on junk food. The major part of the plan is recognizing the stages of hunger and satisfaction, and eating accordingly. I'm eating three meals a day, with one or two snacks. Am finding that I prepare much larger portions than I actually eat; since I'm finally recognizing when I'm satisifed, I'm not overeating.
So, we'll see how it goes.
Have a great weekend :D
09-30-2007, 04:45 PM
Thanks so much sweetie.
That is wonderful! Be creative with your food. The only downfall to CORE, that I have experienced, is it gets boring and I felt deprived. I started craving all different types of food I couldn't have. It is all a mindset like everything else. You will do great on it.
I was really chearing for the Bears.
Hang gliding huh? That would be fun if I wasn't scared of extrreme heights.
You should try it. Great job on going to the gym.
We are going to Red Robin today. I am looking at the menu to see what I want. I lost 1 pound this week. I might do CORE for a few weeks. It does work.
10-01-2007, 02:39 PM
Jen - My favorite exercise is walking also, but that's what I'm doing on the treadmill in the gym. Plus since the gym in only $10 per month, I figure its cheap enough that if I don't go, I don't lose too much $. I went 4 out of 7 days and on my first week back on track I lost 2.5 lbs. Not a great deal to be sure, but its a start. I'm glad you're liking core. It sounds easier than counting points, but I just can't see myself doing anything that tells me to eat til I'm full:p
Terry - Congrats on your loss :bravo: How are all the kids doing? Are they all still doing the ww plan?
Es, amiga - how are you, come in and say hi. You too, ZoeGirl (how's Miss Rylea doing?), Sandy, Ruthie & Susan
Talk to you's soon,
10-03-2007, 11:17 PM
Good loss! :cp: good going. We're hooking a tv up in the room we have the treadmill in. Listening to music is a bit boring, I'd rather watch reruns of Law & Order! Hopefully that will be more incentive for me to put in more time on the treadmill.
We're having gorgeous weather here this week. They're predicting temps of 86!
HI  Terri, Es, Sandy, Zoe, Susan how are you all?
10-04-2007, 08:25 AM
Sorry I have been MIA lately, busy busy busy.
Not much is new and I am struggling to get back on track but I keep trying.
Busy weekend ahead, DS is coming home from college and I am sure there with be a carload of dirty clothing to was...LOL. Gotta love it!
Hope all is well with everyone!
10-04-2007, 09:24 PM
Good to hear from you.
Most important thing is don't quit.
After a weekend last week of having the boys over (pizza), then a tailgate party at my brother's (beer on tap and brats).....I posted a loss today of .2....yep POINT two pounds....and I'm doing the :cb: because I went back and weighed in! Just the fact that I went back.
You all know I've been down this road before....a great first week, then I get a big smug (I call it cocky) then am TOO good to myself, 'cause after all, I just had a big loss! A couple of days before weigh-in I panic because I cannot possibly post a loss on Thursday  so then I think," I'll weigh in on Saturday, cause SURELY I'll have a loss by then!" and I can redeem myself. And my leader from Thursdays won't know that if I had weighed in on that day I would have had a "bad" weigh-in....
Then I said STOP!
Who am I kidding? Perhaps I'm finally growing up. This is not about fooling the scale. Or fooling WW or fooling my leader.
I'm only fooling myself.
I went to my meeting, faced the scale and finally realized that I truly am on a "live-it" .......not a diet. I have to stick with my plan and not give in after a bit of adversity/bad choices shows up on the scale.
There will be many obstacles to my goal in the days, weeks, and months ahead. I will be faced with many choices. This is for life. Each time I chose what I know is the best path, I am victorious.
As Dianne has always said, "Sometimes life gets in the way". It's how we make it work for us is the key.
So......sorry! this is so long. I'm having a moment.
HI  to all of you.
Stop in and say hello!
10-07-2007, 08:09 AM
Hi Girls:wave: I missed you all.
Jen, I thought about trying Core. After reading that you lost 4 lbs. the first week I decided to try it. I'm trying to start WW at Work again. I hope I can get enough people so we can start right away. I wanted to stop in & say hello. I will be back later. I'm getting ready to go food shopping.
Hugs to all my buddies:grouphug: Es
10-10-2007, 07:09 AM
It would be great to have WW at work; we have tried and not gotten enough people to qualify.
Core is working okay for me. I'm gradually adjusting the way I eat, and I feel very good.
This morning the temps are in the 40's! We had a heat wave over the weekend..up to 88 degrees on Sunday. Actually had a chance to take a dip in the pool! We set a record, have never gone swimming this late in the year. We'll be closing it in the next couple of weeks :(
10-11-2007, 09:48 PM
 Hi everyone!
Weighed in this evening, had a loss of 4.8 pounds, so I'm up to a total loss of 9.4 pounds :)
We're going to be officially adopting and bringing home the kittens, Jack and Max, on October 20th! I can't wait. As soon as I get a good photo I will post it.
10-15-2007, 06:49 PM
Woo Hoo Jen:carrot: You are doing great! I bet the kitties are very cute. My cat ruined all my furniture. I have a few scratching boards for her but every now & then I still catch her. She's a brat but we love her.
So far 9 people are interested in joining WW. Hopefully in another week or 2 we'll have at least 14.
Well, just stopped in to say hi. Be back soon.
10-18-2007, 06:05 PM
FANTASTIC!! That is a great loss.
I was so glad the Bears beat Greenbay. The Minnesota game was a shame. 3 lousy points. You sound like you all have fun on game day. That is cool!!
I hear ya on the fooling the scale thing. We are just fooling ourselves. I always felt redeemed when I decided to bite the bullit and weigh in. It is freeing.
I can't wait to see the babies. Pictures! I love my Tanner and Bosco.
Britts and I are still doing the ww program. I lost 3 pounds this week.
The boys are weighing in every week and watching. They are not doing points but they now have an idea how much they can get away with. They still look great. They haven't gained any back.
Brittany kicked her workouts up a notch and she has lost 15 in the last month. She is so excited.
9 is great. I hope it works out for you.
I missed y'all. We went to Hot Springs Arkansas for 5 days. They have an amusement park and it was haunted. The kids had a great time.
We went to our Timeshare and we relaxed. It was so nice.
10-19-2007, 07:34 AM
Good loss! :cp: Your boys are doing the right thing, learning now how to keep a healthy weight. Congrat to Britts on her hard work!
The Bears...don't have it this year, but I still love 'em. The Green Bay win was sweeeet!
Had a loss of 1.4 at weigh-in last night. I'm still excited about Core
Total so far is 10.8 lost. I haven't been exercising, that's what I have to focus on beginning today.
We get the definite word on the kitties this evening. They're both just under 2 pounds, which is the weight they need to be to get their shots, and then can be adopted. They have a 5 pm vet appt., after which the foster mom will call me to let me know if we'll get them tomorrow :crossed: I understand that they're tiny little things, only 7 weeks...but the wait is difficult!
have a great Friday!
10-19-2007, 07:07 PM
Hi Girls
Jen, you are doing great! When did you start? I know you're anxious to get the kids/kitties. They must be sooooooooooooo cute.
Terri, congrats to you & the kids. I always thought it was so cute that the whole family did WW together. Say hi to Britts.
Well, so much for WW at Work. Now they want you to sign up for 17 weeks instead of 10 & we need 20 people instead of 15:mad: I'm going to sign up for the monthly pass on my own. I'll try Core this time. One week Core then the next Flex.
Hi to the rest of our gang:grouphug:
10-19-2007, 10:25 PM
It's a shame that WW has raised its At Work standards.....I'm sure there are many workplaces that want to participate that are under 20 people.
Please keep in mind that on Core you may feel limited, but if you really take advantage of the food list, you won't feel deprived. For me, the absolute key is protein. I hope you enjoy it...that's what it's all about. No journalling...just eat till youre satisfied...not stuffed! I've discovered a lot about myself since beginning Core. I hope you do the same.
I did receive the call today....we're adopting Jack and Max tomorrow!!!!! I can't wait. We're ready to go, will have them home here tomorrow by noon. :D
HI  Terri, Dianne, Susan, Sandy, Zoe......where are you all?????
10-21-2007, 08:26 AM
Jen, I'm excited for you. I hope we can to see a picture of Jack & Max soon. They grow very fast. I'm looking forward to trying Core.
Have to get ready to go food shopping.
Hasta Juego/till later
10-25-2007, 09:17 PM
Hi evryone
Weighed in tonight with a loss of 2.6 lbs. I love Core!!!!!
How is everyone?
Sandy, Hope your Mom and mother-in-law are doing okay.
Zoe, How is Ms. Rylea doing?
Susan, Haven't heard from you in a while...and you were the one keeping this thread going for quite some time. Hope all is well.
Hi to Terri, Dianne and Es.
have a great Friday!
10-26-2007, 11:34 AM
Hi everyone
OMG, Jen - YOU ARE ON FIRE GIRL!!! Holy, moly :carrot: :bravo: What is your total, like 13 lbs in what, 3 weeks or a month??? You are doing fantastic - looks like Core is really your thing. I also like the attitude about facing the music and getting weighed. Its true, we're only fooling ourselves when we mess around. I'm so happy for you. Did you get the kittens yet?
Alana and Sal have a new addition to the family - noooooo, not a baby, a puppy. She's a 2 mos. old beagle, adorable. Her name is Poppins (Alana loves Mary Poppins, lololol). I actually held her (you know I'm not crazy about animals, lol). I wrapped an old pillow case around her and held her that way and made sure she didn't lick me either, lol. You all probably think I'm nuts, but I "skeeve" animals licking me. Anyway, I'm sure I'll get used to her.
Well, I've lost a total of 4.5 lbs. in 4 weeks (I'm not going to say "only" cause a loss is a loss, is a loss). I lost 2.5 the first week (which is usually the "BIG" loss, lol) after that it was 1 lb and .5 and .5. But, I'm still going to the gym and so I think a bigger loss will show up down the line.
Terri - great going on your loss too. And Britts is really doing well, say congrats for me.
Es, amiga, did you go back to ww? I'm thinking of rejoining tomorrow because I think I need some help and need to be accountable. There's nothing as motivating as facing that scale every week and the person weighing you, lol.
Hi ZoeGirl, Susan, Sandy, Ruthie  Hope you guys are doing well.
Well, gotta go. Have a great weekend, everyone.\
10-27-2007, 08:41 AM
4.5 pounds is very good! That's a bag of sugar you're no longer carrying around. I've been on Core for 5 weeks.
I can relate with your animal-licking thing. I'm not really a dog person, and don't like when they do. But wrapping her up sounds sensible to me! I'm sure you'll grow to like her. I like my brother's dogs because I know them...but I still don't want them to lick me.
We have had Jack and Max for one week today. Jack loves to be petted, Max is more skittish and runs away. They're only 2 pounds apiece..very tiny. They're brothers; it's so funny to see them play and chase each other around!
Have a great weekend!
10-27-2007, 08:52 AM
Dianne, you are doing really well also. Are you on flex? I bet Poppins is really cute. I love all animals, especially dogs & cats. They are so smart. When she licks you she's showing affection.
Jen, I was talking about you at work yesterday. How out of our group we were the two that have always struggled & you finally heard the click. I'm still struggling but not for long.
Any plans for this weekend? i'm just renting movies & staying home today. Tomorrow I'll go food shopping then Monday I took off. I have to take Sammy for his annual check up.
Have a nice weekend :grouphug:
10-27-2007, 03:46 PM
Believe me, every day is still a struggle. I would love to eat whatever I want....but would balloon up even bigger! I don't think I have really heard the click yet, but am enjoying the freedom Core offers.
We're going to a Halloween party tonight at Joey & Ili's. Joe is dressing up as a keg of beer and since I didn't think of anything else to do, am wearing a graduation cap and gown...I know mine isn't very creative, but oh well!
Have a good weekend!
10-28-2007, 10:32 AM
Good morning everyone:
Well, I re-joined ww yesterday and was really happy all day, lol. :carrot: The leader is a guy who I remember from the last time I was there. He's really funny. For example, when I said I came back to ww after about a 2 year absence, he said "wait a minute, and he called out to the reception in the front room, saying "Rosemary, call 911 and tell them they can take Dianne's picture off the milk cartons, we found her!" lololol. He cracked everyone up. Another good thing was that my scale at home is two pounds over what I really weigh, so that was a nice surprise, lol. I went to the gym and walked 3 miles on the treadmill and I'm going back today. I was kind of walking on clouds yesterday and I really felt I did something good for myself.
Things have changed a bit at ww, though, like I have less points than I had way back when. Also, I think some of you have tried this before - he told me to start tracking points with dinner instead of breakfast. He said since dinner is usually your biggest meal, you should start there and then whatever is left over you use for breakfast and lunch the next day. I guess it makes sense since it kind of relieves the pressure of leaving enough points for dinner every day. We'll see. If it doesn't work out for me, I'll go back to the regular way.
Well, just wanted to share with you guys. I'm back and kicking. I hope everyone is doing well. Jen, enjoy your halloween party. Hi, Es, amiga, Terri, ZoeGirl, Ruthie, Susan and Sandy (hope I didn't leave anyone out).
