100 lb. Club - Heading back down to ONEderland after a poor hiatus

Howie and I have been scarce, but we've not disappeared. We both regained 40 pounds after his surgery, when our schedule was non-existent and we went back to old habits. It's been a struggle ever since. The big temptation for me is fast food; heading home from work with a pocket full of tips, it's hard not to stop on the way home.

We're not giving up, though. We can't! I may weigh 240 now, but it's still a lot better than the 277 I started at and I want to get down to my goal of 160. Judging from photos from 2002 I was looking at, I think I weighed even more than 277 at one time (didn't weigh myself then, of course!!).

The new season of "The Biggest Loser" starts soon and we're watching. Jillian's back, too! I will start walking with Howie again. It's too important to get back at it.

And, truth be told, I need the accountability. I fight it tooth and nail, but I need it.

I'm glad to see you around and posting. I hope all went well with Howie's surgery.

I like watching the Biggest Loser too. But we've got some great threads right here on 3FC to help keep you accountable. I hope that you will join in. I look forward to hearing more from you.

Good luck to you and Howie both with getting back on track. :)

Yes silly me I thought I would be fine without my support group here. You really need that support structure and I know that now.

We were watching TV a little while ago and are both hungry. Howie said, "we could get pizza..."

I actually replied, "No! We don't need pizza!"

And we didn't get any. :cheer:

Welcome Back - we missed you two around here. I am in the same boat as you.

I also had some regain after the most difficult year of my life, but thank goodness I got my "act in gear" on June 21 (after many months) and I am on the losing train again. It is going slow, but it is going! I finally realized I had to make myself "accountable" to someone to turn things around.

Congrats on nixing the pizza!

Kim, I really love your Avatar is it so nice to see your smiling lovely face:)

Thanks for the PM. Oh by the way- We both have the same goal "160". I HOPE I can make it down to there anyway! Since I am 5' 5" apparently 160 still does not put me into a "Healthy" BMI. I would have to get all the way down to 144 to be in a "Healthy" BMI, but I have my doubts that I can get that low. I might have to settle for a "Moderate Health Risk" BMI at 160. I think I will have to wait and "Re-evaluate" my goal when I get lower.

Love, Pookie

guys! HI! I am back too... The biggest loser got me thinking, along with seeing my skinny butt in pictures from 2004.. I've gained all back. Plus some. But already this week, I've lost 7 lbs. I know We can do it.

It is so great to see you both!!!!

Welcome Back Kimberly and Howie.
I too have found my way back after some disasterous couple of months for me.

Glad you are both back!

I did okay today. We've not gotten around to grocery shopping, so it was slim pickin's for breakfast. I had a couple of eggs with some cheddar cheese. For lunch I got a Wendy's Frescata turkey & swiss sandwich, opting for yellow mustard in place of the mayo, and choosing the yogurt instead of fries. 'Course, tonight we did get medium Blizzard's at DQ, but that was all I'd had today.

It's really hard isn't it Kimberley? But I know that you guys are gonna get back in "the zone" soon! It just takes time to get back on track.

You can do it! :)

Okay, I coasted there for a few weeks, but I've not totally disappeared. :) I'm still struggling, but I am also making good choices in between.

Today I had eight dollars and some change in tips in my pocket as I left work. I arrived at home with the same money in my pocket, and it is now in my tip jar. Just doing that each day I work will help me a lot.

I still need to avoid noshing on stuff at home when I'm not really hungry, and I need to have better portion control, but avoiding the fast food today was a plus.

Glad that you're back on track with the fast food! You know what you need to do--just doing it is always the trick. But I have faith that you'll get your groove back, Kimberley!

I'm loving this thread.

I've spent a lot of time lately thinking about WHY I'm overweight. I lost 70 pounds 12 or 13 years ago doing Get With The Program when it first came out. I was breastfeeding and the pounds just melted away.

When I was thinner, I felt vulnerable. Like I was walking outside naked all the time. Did any of you feel that way?

I gained nearly all the weight back and have started losing it, but I'm trying to prepare myself for that feeling again. I know if I don't "fix" my head I won't be able to keep it off.

I hope you all jump in here and tell me if you've lost it before, why you think you gained it back.

Welcome back! It's great to see you again. I'm just getting back into the swing of things myself. I'm glad you avoided that fast food trap.

It's been off and on for both of us. I know one thing I want to be back to my lowest by Christmas. That is my Christmas present to myself. So I need to get 37 off by December 25th. I may or may not make it but that is the goal to work for. I'm so mad at my self for gaining and losing the same 30 lbs this past year and half. I have to get a hold on myself.
