Hiya Low Carb Chatters!:)

Up early just in time to switch my bod over to Night Shift again!:dizzy: *grooooaaaaaan*

I've decided to make batches of this Low Carb Egg Bread I've been fiddling with---makingbatches for the whole week every weekend - has really helped get me thru some rough patches of bread/pancake/muffin longing - has ZERO carbs!

What are some of your "staples" that help the process of withdrawing from the processed Flour/Sugar World we're living in?

I'm ready to OWN September!:carrot: How 'bout you all?

09-04-2007, 11:18 AM
Morning aud! LC Egg Bread? Where did you find the recipe for that? I'm still on induction, so I have a few more days before I can give it a go. I would like to try it though. Me....eating deviled eggs for b-fast, drinking water. I REALLY want coffee, so maybe I will put some decaf on later. The maintence guy is in the kitchen now fixing the sink - water everywhere!! So I may go without the coffee.

09-04-2007, 02:19 PM
That bread sounds interesting- 0 carbs? is the recipe on here already?

09-04-2007, 03:08 PM
oooops - it's called "Egg Bread" - looking forward to trying the "pizza."

Off to Dr. - lipid panels and then Night Shift He!! . . . ttyal@

Hi all. Things have been going pretty steady for me. I'm excited to be about 178 right now and that is the lowest I have been in over 3 years!!! :) I also find that if I cook those "muffin" type things they really save me. I'm still hooked on the tuna muffins and cream cheese muffins. I'm still terrible about diet pop but guess it's still working so it's not a staller for me.

09-04-2007, 03:27 PM
Gotta check out egg bread. Let's see, staples: almond flour, flax meal, liquid splenda, eggs, cream cheese, butter, sour cream. Packages of various muffin mixes by Dixie Carb Counters. I get the flax meal and dairy products from my local grocery (yeah Cobb Mountain has one, tiny but surprisingly complete), liquid splenda from EBay (search for Sweet Water), and the rest from netrition.

I completely blew yesterday. Well, not completely I guess, I only ate low carb stuff, but I made jello cheesecake (from Linda's recipes). I screwed up, used a large pkg of orange jello instead of a small one. So it was sour! Citrus sour, not some other kind of sour. Can't make this again. I ate it all in the course of the day. Well, maybe I can. I think I've got the "oh boy, dessert!" phenonmenon about wore out. Yesterday was 30g carbs ... and about 3000 calories! Oops, today is a new day, though. Still learning about this do-it-for-life stuff. I don't do this with homemade muffins, so maybe the trick is to immediately divide into servings and freeze all but one. Note: I tried Easy Pound Cake recipe. Waaaaay too greasy. I made cupcakes out of it, and when I took them out of the pan there was a puddle of butter in the bottom of each cup, and the whole surface of the cupcake itself could have been used to grease the pan for the next batch. I won't do that one again. Note to self: baked cupcakes should not drip.

I really hate this not-exeercising routine, but I am determined that my back will be completely healed before I go back. My tentative goal is Monday. Sunday it was quite sore after 4 hours at the park, and it didn't draw any attention to itself yesterday until about 8:00 when I stood up after sitting in a folding chair for an hour. Those things are awful, but what can you do? Not my chairs, not my checkbook! I have, however, reached the point where I can get out of it, rather than having to take it off! This morning, no back owies so far. I am going to be very careful all week. Aud, what do you think? Am I being realistic, here, do you think?

I've decided to make batches of this Low Carb Egg Bread I've been fiddling with---makingbatches for the whole week every weekend - has really helped get me thru some rough patches of bread/pancake/muffin longing - has ZERO carbs!

I'm confused how this can be 0 carbs:?::?::?: Egg whites & egg yolks contain 0.3 gr carbs each, Cream of Tartar has 6 carbs per 1 Tbsp, and 4 Tbsp Sour Cream has 2.4 carbs.

09-04-2007, 04:59 PM
Of course you're being realistic bouncie . . . intuitive body watch at its finest!!:) Yet another tip drilled into me during years of bad back p.t. - always push yourself up with your arms from any seated position. Didja? Gosh, I hate folding chairs too . . . lol @ the many times I've "wore them" too!:D

Tried on my largest-ever-jeans/couldn't pull over hips most of the summer - now loose!:carrot: . . . Can't wait for these baggy maternity jean pedal pushers that I've been ghetto-fab sporting this fashion-season fall all the way off - straight into the trash can!

Hiya JerseyG! Yeah, :?: on the Zero Carb thang . . . I remember there's a raging debate with folks plugging the ingredients into a recipe calculator either at . . . or maybe even Linda's? I think the bottom line was 3.ZERO per 24 egg-breadie things. Nice Catch - Good Save!;):D

Dr. visit went well - can't wait to get my blood work back. I'll check back in during the Wee Hours of the morning - never did get to lay back down so this should be an interesting evening of answering calls - yawning in peoples faces???:^::o:dizzy:

Hi Ladies:)

Posted in the wrong thread.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday yesterday.I spent mine time watching fed ex cup golf tournament. We had BBQ hamburgers Hot dogs and corn on the cob.

Going to start the diet next week, but this week I will be watching what I'm eating.Going to ease on the carbs that I was using as comfort foods during my food poisoning ordeal.

AUD-I'm ready for the Sept Challenge, but not until next week.WTG 26 lbs that awesome.. I did post in the Challenge thread.
1)drink more water
2)exercise more
3)lose 4 lbs

Thanks for the egg bread recipe, now I have an alternative from the revolution roll

Puncezilla-Big congrats on the 3 lbs loss you'll lose the other in no time.

LILY-Wishing you all the best.

Bouncing-I don't think gelatin is going to effect weight.I was playing around 30 carb per day,and now I'm not sure which direction I should go up or down.

Hugs :) BB

hery all deviated from plan this wkend - ill get back into it im not worried. but i have noticed that i have been having some issues regardning my intestines and the surrounding area if you get my drift - hopefully so - anyhoo for the past couple of days i have had a trememendous amount of BM's verry loose - sorry TMI - and been bloated - could this be my bodies reaction to the number of carbs i have been eating the past 3 days - not complex ones either - refined sugars.

i assume so and i am hoping if i get back on plan strictly asap will it subside. ive never had this type of reaction to sweets before LC.

back on plan until November! strictly LC

Hey, girls! I'm back at school finally and I stocked up on Induction-friendly foods today. I'm making up a menu for myself tonight and pre-cooking some Cauli. Mash, thawing out some spinach (to go with my eggs tomorrow morning) and generally becoming prepared. I also bought some Slim Jims...they're not ideal, but when I'm in class from 11:00AM--3:30PM solid on Tuesdays/Thursdays, I need some sort of Atkins-friendly snack. One slim jim's less carbs than most jerkey (and I like it better...), so that a twice a week "snack" I've got planned.

I've also picked out what classes I'm going to take at the gym and scheduled in when I'm going to the gym to lift weights/etc. Tomorrow's my brand-new start. New Semester, Induction and exercise--I can do this!

Hi Ladies,
I missed being here, so I hope you all don't mind if I hang out and chat with you all.
After a month and a half of stalling, I finally lost 2 lbs, so now I'm down to 35 lbs. I realize that I just have to eat what I'm supposed to and stay away from the things that DO cause me to stall. I haven't eaten an Atkins bar since my stall, and I'm weaning myself off the lc sf ice cream, not having that like I used too.
So now, I'm eating more veggies and salads for lunch and dinner, even sometimes for breakfast. I'm still drinking lots of water and having a diet rite once a day.
I also think the reason why I wasn't losing weight during those months is I may be eating too much, so I lessoned the amount I ate and that didn't seem to work. So I upped the amount and that's when I lost the 2 lbs. Mostly upped the salads and veggies and it seems to be working for me. I'm using olive oil and vinegar, instead of store bought salad dressing.
So I have done alot of changes, the right changes I believe and so far it seems to be helping me.

So I hope you are all doing good too, can't wait to talk with you!

Way to TWEAK-IT, fitintime!:carrot: Wondered where you'd been! Keeping it simple is what's working for me this time around too - and just like you said - eating more works out best on the whole weight loss thing in general. Whodathunkit? I'm also a work in progress on the whole mindset aspect - basically just enjoying the energetic feeling I have with this lc wol - and not on the things I "can't" have that make me feel downright crappy when I eat them, ya know?

Had a great lc breakfast right b4 work yesterday - realized near the end of the shift that I'd been so busy that I HADN'T ATE another thing!!!:o Unheard of not to be hungry. Guess it's a mix between the amoxicillin and hopefully true hunger adjustment?:?: Had a couple of little egg bread creamcheese treats in the car on the way home - drank two glasses of water and crashed! Gotta make sure to get some veggies/roughage today - but liking this waiting to FEEL hunger b4 eating experience. Very new to me. (see ticker!:dizzy:)

Hiya azure!! Missed ya! Gonna be a busy one I see - esp. T/TH! Way to Plan and have time for YOU - even with the schedule!:carrot:

I'm hopelessly behind on a Proposal I need to crunch the numbers for - but STILL headed for the Y - think I'll do a better job of it feeling fit and relaxed, don't you?;)

Hi :) again We just got back from visiting with the doctor and shopping a BJ.

All is Ok with Leo,No cancer in site. The only thing,he needs now is going to take Pluminary Therapy for his lungs and has to go to the throat specialist to widen his throat for easier swallowing. Diet & exercise was also mentioned. Hope Leo wants to go on low carbing with me.We can lose weight together.

I'm started this morning. Had

B-scrambled eggs with bacon & soy milk
L-balsamic tomato & mozz salad W) protein shake
D-Ham steak,sweet potato & artichokes

Want to lose 4 lbs this month for my Sept Challenge.

Chickadee-Sorry about your BM problems I was there last week, and its wasn't a picnic. Hope you mend soon, like I did. Your body will adjust and start losing again once your better.

Azure-Planing is the battle in succeeding. Best wishes for a good school year and happy weight loss journey

FitinTime-You look like you have everything in control. I like your plan, sometimes eating more the body doesn't start holding on to what you feed it. I'm going to use a salad plate or a tri-section plate to measure my portions.Have to start over again as my F/P didn't help matters scale is moving upward.

Aud-Thanks for your well wishes.Being on a shift is hard to schedule a plan for lunch & dinner. I know I've been there and it isn't easy.

Have a great afternoon

Hugs :) BB

Hey Ladies,
Thanks for the encouragment and the same to you all too. You have progressed so much since I've been gone, WTG!!!

I just came back from lunch and I had a nice taco salad. It was pretty filling, now I'm going to down some water.
The only thing I'm not doing yet is exercise. I just haven't got to that point where I'm ready. You know how you get that "thing" where you want to lose weight. I don't know how to describe it, well I haven't got that way for exercise. I know I need to but I hope I will get that "itch" soon!

Started Low Carbing yesterday, but I blew it when eating a pc of thick crusty rye bread, while watching t.v. Put the bread in the freezer and I going to start over again today.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I've been doing really well! I finally feel like I'm going to be okay--that I can see this out to the end. I'm hoping that "End" is going to be by the end of November. I finally got the guts to step on the scale and felt pretty stung by the 4 pound gain from my last ticker update (granted, that update was weeks ago and I had been eating really poorly...). But, I'm being honest with myself and recording it. It sucks being out of the "I've lost 30 pounds!" frame of mind, but I'll be back there soon.

Hope the rest of you ladies are doing a-okay! I need to go read for class before I dash out the door! Later!

09-06-2007, 12:02 PM
Morning all....I've been doing ok. Last night I felt a little ill.....I sipped some diet 7-up & went to bed. This morning though I was up at 8 (I usually sleep until 10!) and I've already done 3 loads of laundry, dishes and other chores. I think I found that energy boost!! Hopefully this continues!!

Hi Ladies:)

Sorry I had such as short post this morning as I had to get some groceries in to start my low carb program started.
b-eggs & sausages,soy milk
l-2 meatballs on bed of veggie blends
d- huge tuna fish salad on bed of lettuce, tomatoes & cukes.

FitinTime-I know what you mean, I can't get into exercising :exercise: either, even if it nice on cool out to walk along the beach.I haven't been down there. Hang in there, it will happen.

Azure-Sorry:sorry: about your 4 lb gain, I did the same from last week, hope that I can drop 1 lbs this week with all the food poisoning I went though. Glad that you doing ok and will be able to see the end of the road. I'm giving myself until the end of the year to reach my goal.

Soon-Oh Gee!!! Sorry you're not feeling well last night. and glad that you found your energy boost.

Heya LowCarbers!:)

I've overslept - shooting whatever hope I had of making sense of the chaotic schedule I'm on with all the extra work of contract talks/keeping up with the regular stuff. - ahem, HOWEVER not gonna sweat it and just do what I can, ya know?

I'm in the ZONE- that's how azure & I coined the phrase one time on how we feel when things are clicking on low carb. I think that's what you need to shoot for too fitinT. . . just shoot for it whether you get there or not has been so beneficial. The exercise thang will surely follow---or the energy burst like stbFAB is groovin' to today!!!;) Good Luck!

Mmmmmmmmm . . . rye bread beachie? Our bodies crave things when they're recovering I think. Glad you're able to jump back onboard - in the past something like that would just WAY LAY me into a slide - have been able to just STOP and move forward since returning to 3fc this time - Tx all for the support!

Ohhhhhhhh liiillllllyyybbbbbbb? Puncie?????? Bouncie?????? WTH are you guys??????

Hi Everyone!

How's it going today? Ihope everyone is doing great and staying on plan.
Yesterday I gave in. . . I ate a ice cream bar. I know, I know, I shouldn't have but I did. I know I must not be in Ketosis or something for me to be craving that. So I have to stick with it and not give in.
I can't have anything sugar free, because then I will start craving it over and over. That's my problem! It's terrible that if I eat sf jello, which was once, then I wanted to eat another.
I just can't eat sf stuff.

Thanks BB for the encouragment, I just hope that desire comes soon. I'm already thinking about getting surgery if I need to.

Listen Ladies, I got a rather embarrassing question. I hope it's okay to ask it here. I'll wait for a response first from anyone for the go ahead.
It's a women thing.

Talk to you soon!

09-06-2007, 04:05 PM
I consider LC Chat to be just like a Dr. or Lawyers Office - totally confidential here on the world wide web!:dizzy:

Not sure how old you are beachie - I'm 46 and since my parents had me late in life - I've got nieces and nephs in their 30's and early 40's which freaks me out every time I think about it/birthday parties/reunions - and have had emails etc from THEIR kids!!!:o I always think - "Gosh, it was just yesterday when I was babysitting/changing your Mom/Pops diapers!!!!" LOL!:D

09-06-2007, 04:14 PM
Have any of you experienced vaginal dryness? I know I didn't want to ask, but I'm wondering if it has to do with low carb woe. I drink alot of water, I don't know if that affects that area.
Well, I was embarrassed :o to ask, but I feel I can ask that here.

09-06-2007, 09:33 PM
BB, thanks for the sympathy about the four pound gain. I'm sorry you had the same thing happen to you :( I guess all we can do is press on, though, right? The end of the year is still really close, though! I'm getting excited to be so close to maintenance, and also afraid...maintaining means I'm there, but it also means keeping my old habits in check.

Aud, you're in the Zone! That's awesome!
:carrot: <---ZoneDanceCarrot!!! Don't sweat the schedule, hon! Just keep pressing on--you'll make it!

FitinTime, I haven't personally experienced any vaginal dryness, but maybe one of the other ladies can chime in. I think the problem with sugar-free sweet things is that they still trigger that sugary-food binge--at least with me, they do. I hope you find your Zone soon--I -finally- feel like I've found mine again. :)

soon2Bfab, I'm glad to hear that you're doing really well today! The energy that comes with Atkins is pretty awesome!

I've had a great last couple of days! Yesterday I was at the gym for an hour; I did some cardio/abs, then asked one of the hunky guys at the desk if he could show me how to squat with proper form--and I suck, by the way, but I'm learning. I also ate like champ and drank PLENTY of water (4.5 liters).

Today, my eating was On plan and I took a 70 minute walk. I really wanted a diet Pepsi and was about to drive somewhere to get one when I said: "Y'know what? If you want Diet Pepsi, you're going to have to walk to get it!". So, I walked to Target, bought my Diet Pepsi, and walked back to my apartment! I got my exercise in, kept my heart rate between 130-150 the whole way and got a treat at the end :) I know Diet soda's supposed to be a no-no and I'm cutting down, but the aspartame doesn't seem to stall me, and caffeine definitely doesn't make me hungry more frequently...I usually have to count calories to make sure I'm getting ENOUGH of them, thanks to very low hunger on Atkins.

Tomorrow, I've got a weight lifting session in my plans and my food's all prepped and ready to be eaten! Soon "The Biggest Loser" challenge will begin and that'll be fun to participate in. I like the idea of teams. :)

I'll check in tomorrow!

09-06-2007, 09:48 PM

It's the state of being during a diet/exercise program where you feel invincible. You can do no wrong and you have no desire to, you're too determined to achieve your goals. Aud and I refer to it as "the Zone" ;)

Good Morning Ladies:)

Nothing new today, I'm still feeling tired, and don't have the energy to exercise like I usually do. Hope by the weekend this will pass. I'm trying to eat 75% OP.,but fall by the wayside.Have to find the ZONElike Azure was talking about.

Aud-Its hard to go back to induction after you put so many carb back into the body.I don't think I could handle 25 carb per day. Going to up them a little by starting at 45 per day, coming from veggies and salads of course, and see what happens. You're welcome for the support thats what we are here for.

[B]FitinTime-No I haven't experienced VD,but I don't think low carbing causes that.If its that bad, I go to a doctor for advice.

Azure-Lost 1 lb out of the three, and it isn't my w-i day. Hopefully I lose the others soon.Don't know how to maintain on L/C but LILY has done a good job maintaining. Hopefully she'll be back to inspire us when we get that far.If you like you can post in the Sept Exercising Thread that I asked Leenie to sticky for us.I sometime feel if I don't post what I eat or what exercisers I do I can't keep myself accountable.

Soon-I'm lucky as I never drank soda, unless I put something into it like juice.Don't like the carbonation in the drinks I tend to burp too much. I drink lots water with crystal lite.MY DD and her DH love Pepsi & coke, UGHHHH!! to both.

Have to go,

Hugs :) BB

09-07-2007, 10:54 AM
Hi everyone,

Sorry about being missing. Had a lot going on with mine and my DD's doctor appt's. My visit pretty much sucked. Dr. scale was quite a bit higher than mine at home and Dr. suggested I use South Beach diet for lifetime maintenance. He wants me to go by the glycemic index of the foods I eat. I'm reading the book now and just started the 2 week induction yesterday. This induction seems pretty much the same as I did on Atkins. The book keeps saying it's not Low Carb, it's Good Carb. I really don't see the difference. Oh well, I'm keeping my carb's low, so they can call it what they want.

My dang scale said 145 lbs, Dr. scale said 151. So, very frustrating. I do feel bloated and my hands and feet and calves are retaining fluid. My clothes fit fine and are actually loose, but I'll go ahead and do this induction and get back on track with eating less carbs and see what happens. It's not like I can't afford to lose a few lbs. either way.

Things are a little better on the homefront. I did learn after having the police investigate my missing jewelry, that it isn't at any pawn shop, jewelry store or loan company within a 100 mile radius of our home. They verified to police that DH had put up some lawn service equipment from our old mowing business as collateral on the loans and not any jewelry. This made me feel a tad bit better. So, maybe I'm an idiot but I'm starting to believe HIM a little bit. The guns I thought were all missing and only one is missing, the others were stacked behind the gun case instead of inside of it. (He proved this to me). Plus my oldest SD's wedding rings that I thought were missing were indeed inside the gun case, not pawned off.

DH has now voluntarily blocked every gambling site from our computer. Which I thought was progress. He is attending his counseling sessions and I'm tagging along to make sure he goes and make sure he is honest in confronting the problem.

I'll check in later, right now I need to pay bills. What fun.

I actually feel in the "zone" even though I don't exercise. I haven't strayed from this woe and wol since April this year, even though I've stalled there for a bit, I'm still going strong and know I'll achieve my goal. I haven't gained anything or binged on food I'm not supposed to, even though the temptation is there, I refuse to go backwards.
So does that constitute being in the zone.

Diana-I like your attitude toward not looking back but forward.Going to follow your train of thought. I need to follow someone that heading for the zone,as I'm the biggest pessimist going, just ask my DH.

Lily-Follow what you doctor tells you. My doctor put me on the SB in the first place, but after a while I didn't lose,as I was adding too many carbs back in at one time. He told me its a good maintenance diet where Atkins is a great Weight Loss WOE. I believe they are the same,so i keep on switching back & forth. Happy to hear that everything is quite at home.Hope it stays that way,as you don't need any more stress than you have to.

Forgot to say that your balsamic tomato & cheese salad sounded yum that one day, beachie. Got tons of 'maters right now and love white cheese - kinda burnt out on "yellow" cheeses right now.

Used to be a HUGE diet coke fanatic - pepsi always gave me the sensation of smelling mothballs. I kid you not, azure & soon2! I'm in the TBL Challenge too - hope we're on the same team azzie!:carrot:

Haven't had VD either . . . (ROTFLMAO at the shortened version of dryness!!:D:D) How old are ya fitin, and are your periods regular? As far as "The Zone" - I think you're the only one that knows if you're in it and when everyone is having an ice cream bar or whatever - you don't even consider it, ya know? I'm committed to enjoying/savoring/being thankful for whatever you want to call the state I'm in - cause Lord knows I've spent more time OUTSIDE of it than IN IT!:dizzy:

So glad you checked in lily! Tried to read South Beach but found it bored me and the Atkins lines were too blurry . . . I understand the concept of "good" fats and glycemic indexes . . . just can't lose weight that way . . . may try again when I get this weight off, huh? Glad you are following thru on the homefront and you & DD remain in my thoughts & prayers!

ummmmm, where ya at bouncie????

HI, I'm still here. :^: Just having some emotional dificulties. I realy need to get back in the ZONE. I love coke zero, but it takes me a few days to drink one small bottle, I just like a sip here and there. When I first started atkins I ate SF jello almost every night to satisfy my sweet cravings but after a few weeks I completely lost my taste for it and didn't want it any more. I'm going to make some LC Crustless pumpkin pie today for when I feel the need for a treat. I blew it yesterday and had Icecream and chocolate:yikes:.

Lily, Good luck with the south beach, I'v read it and think its a good plan.
Its good that your DH is willing to get help, I hope he can overcome his addiction. Good for you for being proactive in cofronting him and talking to the police.

No VD here either :D.

:wave:I hope your all having a great week.
I need some dancers to cheer me on.:cb::dance::broc::carrot:

AUD-Got that tomato cheese salad from a low carb recipe site. I love that particular recipe as I have so many tomatoes on our plants also.

Puncezilla-I found an old recipe from the SB board that you would like.

Its called SB Peanut butter Cup
1 no sugar added fudgsicle
1-2 TB peanut butter
1-2 TB lite froz topping[cool whip]or look for low carb alternative.

Take a fudgsicle & scrape off stick[nuke for 15 seconds helps] than add 1-2 peanut butter & 1-2 Tb Cool Whip Mix together and enjoy. I freeze mine and its delish.

Wow, you Girls come up with yummiest desserts! Why can't I think of that?
And thanks BB!
I'm 45 and loving it. LOL!
You know, when I said I hadn't binge, I should have clarified that. Since I've been doing Atkins, and that's been since April this year, I've probably cheated about 3 times. And that was a span of about a month apart. Each time I would get right back on this woe.

I have tried to "diet" before and I even took those pills Ephedrine. I lost on those, but put all the weight back on and them some. I don't want to go back and put on all this weight I lost. This has been the best woe for me and I am so determined to lose.

If anyone needs encouragement, a push, a kick in the butt or prayer, I'm here for you all!!!

Doesn't matter what we did today an hour ago or last week, we can get back on this woe and lose! When this year passes, we're going to say, "hey I could have lost alot of weight by now,but instead I didin't stay on plan". That's what I always used to say when I wouldn't stay on those other diets. Then I would get depressed and give up.
But I won't let you all give up, we are going to lose this weight once and for all!!
Let's get back in the game and LET'S LOSE THIS GALLDURN WEIGHT!!!

Evening everyone....I was craving something sweet tonight. Had cottage cheese with cinnamon & splenda - that helped!! Darn TOM!! I'm still losing, have almost 1 week under my belt, 1 more to go!
I have had VD, but not because of atkins....stress! Maybe that's your problem? Also if you're on a BC pill that will contribute to it.
Off to give hubby a hair cut!

Well, I guess the vd was a one time thing then.
Thanks for letting me bring up a gross subject, LOL!

Good Morning Ladies:)

Nothing new, except the cool weather that we were having is turning to the 3 H's over this weekend. We have winds blowing around as the Hurricane Gabriella moves by.

Got another e-mail from younger twin DGD and she sent a photo of a fat cat in a birdcage with the canary on top of the cage. They are so cute at this age,you can converse with them, and its fun listening to all the things that go one in their little lives.

Diana-I'm always looking for me dessert that will be ok for this WOE. Its so easy to get tempted while watching TV,if your not keeping your hand busy like knitting or crocheting something.THANKS for sharing & being there for us. We all need stick togetther in the weight loss journey.

Soon-Not really into cottage cheese any more I like the smooth look of ricotta instead. I eat with my eyes before eating. It has to look good before I try it.,but that everyones taste. Sure you'll lose after TOM leaves you.

Puncezilla-You're welcome, if I find some other desserts that of fitting for low carbing I let you guys know.

Have to go will look in later

Hugs :) BB

Hi Everyone,
How's it going? Is everyone raring to go! Well so far today I had 3 sausage links and 2 eggs, now I'm cleaning my house and even have the motivation to rearrange my living room. What's up with that? :hyper: I guess!

What's so cool about lc is how much energy it gives you. Usually I'd eat breakfast that consisted of eggs hash brown and a meat, then I'd feel sluggish and want to go back to bed, which is what I used to do.

Anyway, I got a bbq par-tay coming up at my house next Saturday. Gonna bbq all kinds of meat and smoke some too. My youngest sister and parents are on low carb as well, so it makes it easier when other family members are doing it too. Anyone want to come! LOL
I'm trying to do as much cleaning this weekedn so I don't have to worry too much next w/e.

Everybody have a great day, stay OP and no worries!!!
I'll check in later!

BB, I am defintiely gonna try that dessert, sounds like it would be fine for SBD also.

After switching from Atkins to Calorie Counting and now to SBD, I feel like it would be easier to just sew my mouth shut. LOL. I am so frigging confused, I don't know what to eat. I'm now on day 3 of SBD induction and the lbs. are dropping off and I'm peeing like crazy so I know it's water weight. (I had been retaining a lot of fluid). Weird thing is I'm doing Induction and I'm not even above my goal, so I expect to be quite a bit below goal in the next 2 weeks. Oh well, Dr. told me to do it. Maybe I'll meet my secret goal of 135 lbs. , LOL, then all my clothes will be falling off of me.

We had some excitement last night. At 3:15AM we get a call from the Police Dept. to come pick up Shelbey (DH's 15 yr. old DD). Appears that she and Peyton (a friend of Lacy's that was spending the night) snuck out and went for a little joy ride with a 19 yr. old boy after we went to sleep. DH was livid. Thankfully, they left Lacy asleep while they snuck out or she'd be in Hot Water too. LOL. Peytons dad had to pick her up at Police Station too. They both got a ticket for being out past curfew and have to go to court on Oct 2. Awwwwwwwwwwww, my troubles have hence begun.

Oh well - so much for The Zone I was in . . . had a super emotional (anger related) meltdown at a meeting last nite - think the week of number crunching pressure snuck up on me? Went totally ballistic - which for me includes gigantic tears running down my face - Grrrrrrr for being a woman in the Man's Corporation and the Man's Union structure I'm working in . . . anyhoo - total meltdown that freaked them all out and felt rather cleansing for me at the same time - turned out to be a good thing on the issues I was trying to resolve here at Contract Time Crunch. Bad news, I ate a VAT of cornflakes when I couldn't sleep @ 5am this morning.:( Old habits really die hard, eh? Just snuck up on me those evil little flakes . . . After reading here this morning, I'm so wishing I would have logged on here instead for some resistance and support inspiration.:(

Dusting self off sluggishly and headed for the Y . . . I'll catch up with y'all later - starting the Rams Opener TailGate at Big Bro's Bar in the country a day early -:dizzy:- but will check in b4 I head out.

Aud--I had a bad day today, too. My sister was up last night and today and I spent almost an entire hour on the phone with her in hysterics as she tried to drive back home (She lives 3 hours away from my college--with my parents). She got lost several times and I was trying to talk her through getting back on the right roads, but she was sobbing and screaming and when she finally stopped at a gas station to chill out, I called my mom to vent a little pent-up nervousness (I'm also very upset at this time). My mom proceeds to tell me I need to get in my car and FIND my sister (who's already an hour away) and when I explained that she had misunderstood the directions, she said "and WHO GAVE her those directions?!" as if my sister's meltdown was somehow my fault... Anyway, I had an emotional breakdown and drown myself in pizza.

The good thing is, I feel absolutely SICK after eating it. I think I'm going to write myself a post-it and stick it on my fridge: "CARBS MAKE YOU FEEL SICK!" Ugh. I'm sorry about your Zone, Aud. I'll be finding mine again. For now, I'm going to relax a little bit, take a shower, then maybe go for a walk. My sister called a little while ago to assure me that she was on the Pike, headed for home...thank God.

Good Morning Ladies:)

I got up early today, couldn't sleep,as we had a few mice running around the living room.My DH put up the traps and hopefully that they'll gone.

Start to get back to serious low carbing
b-turkey bacon & cheddar cheese on Rev Roll[atkins roll made of egg, cheese & spices],soy milk
br-bacon & scrambled eggs with dec coffee & H&H
d-stuffed pepper with veggies on the side.

Hope this time I don't get sidetrack by other illness or food poisoning.

LILY-You know that the South Beach is on the 3 fat chicks forum and they have a list of foods that are allowed & to avoid,so they must have a maintenance list over there also. I never got that far. It is a healthy diet, but I had to stop as I was putting to many good carbs back and I gained. Atkins you add carbs 5 at a time & I find it easier to control. You'll do just fine.Heres:cheers: to your secret goal.

AUD-We all have bad days, like you dust yourself off and start again. I starting again this morning. I had a terrible time after the food poisoning. I ate all the wrong foods. I was lucky that I lost 1 lb during W-I. We are here for you, post anytime, and one of us will be there to support you.

AZURE-Oh gee!! Can't believe your mom, accused you of your sister misunderstanding. I guess she must have been worried sick, and being able to have you sister at home. I would have done the same thing you did. I have good size pizza. Hope we all can get[mice in my livingroom],started again today of the right foot back to low carbing & weight loss.

Have to go,will post later

Hugs :) BB

How's everyone doing this morning? Everyone starting off okay with their woe, I know you can do it!

I mentioned in another post that I went out last night with my husband and a sister and anothe sister with her boyfriend to Karaoke. It was fun, it was a small group of people there. Anyway, everyone was drinking beer, and as much as I wanted one, I didn't drink. I was so happy with myself that I didn't endulge.
I ate there too and had a cheese burger with bacon, no bun. So I stayed on plan. Then my sisters came back to my house and continued to Karaoke their and they continued drinking, but I still didn't drink.
Finally everyone left around 11pm and I couldn't sleep so I stayed up for awhile, then tried to go to sleep. I woke back up around 12am and was feeling hungry, so I ate 2 lc sf ice cream bars.

I weighed myself this morning and didn't gain or lose. So I'm pretty happy about that.
I feel that losing this weight is more important than getting buzzed!

Then next weekend we're doing an all day bbq, my family was talking about getting a keg. I'm going to need alot of strength to not want to drink.
I told them last night, that I've come to far to go back. Then my sisters' boyfriend, who is a certified nutritionist, said that it's okay to cheat on you "diet" every two weeks because when you start back up it causes you to lose weight again.
Does that sound right to anyone. I told him that I never heard that before!
Who knows?

Well, you Ladies have a great day, and remember, It's not what we did yesterday, last week or an hour ago, we can still get back on track and keep losing weight!!!

Have a great Day!!!

BB, thanks, I did finally find my list of induction foods in the book. This after having had a bowl of total Oat Bran flakes with skim milk for brekkie. Oh well, I'll try to stick 100% from here out.

Diana, glad you had fun at Karaoke. We do Karaoke every Thurs. night. I'm overcoming my shyness some and sing to my heart's content. LOL. Also, great job on passing on the beer. I don't drink at all, but the temptation is all around me.

BB, hope you get rid of the mice. I got a cat for that purpose, but he gets fed too well and is usually too lazy to get a mouse. LOL.

09-09-2007, 02:59 PM
eeeeww.. mice. I have cats too but I dont think they could catch a mouse if thier lives depended on it. My nieghbor:devil: built a composter right up against the fence next to my house and there are always mice running around out there. luckily I've only found one in the house so far.

fit, the boyfriend is probably right if your on a traditional diet, with atkins it might take longer to recover. for me if I cheat it always turns into a cheat weekend or cheat week, I have so much trouble getting back on track. but I think for some people having a cheat meal or treat might not be so bad.

I'm back in the "zone" YaY. :carrot: hope your all having a nice long weekend!

09-09-2007, 04:30 PM
Right On Punce!!!:D:carrot: Keep going!!!

Lilybelle, I have a good time doing karaoke. I'm not a great singer, I can sing in tune, but it's just great fun, isn't it!

Have a great All!!

Hi everybody. I haven't been around for a few days -- off binging on sugar-free candy instead. And I LOST four pounds! Go figure! Back on the straight and narrow, starting tonight. Tomorrow will be my first day back at the gym in over a week. No twinges from the back in 3 days. I'll start back really slowly. I think not going to the gym contributed to the binge.

I think another part of my problem was that I'm bored with my food. I need to vary it more. Need some recipes for boneless, skinless chicken breast that don't taste like sawdust, with the texture of manilla rope. I'll go check out Linda's Low Carb site.

Diana, I'm soooooo glad you're back! I worried about you when you left. Lily, sounds like there may be some light at the end of that tunnel. Do you have any idea what might have happened to your jewelry?

Missed y'all, staying away seems to be a great way to court trouble....

09-09-2007, 08:44 PM
Hm. Just went and peed on the durn stick, and I'm still in ketosis!! So I guess I haven't been all THAT bad!

09-09-2007, 09:07 PM
:carrot:Wow, that's encouraging Shellie, I bet you didn't expect that huh!LOL What a great surprise to see those sticks turn that color.
Congrats on the weight loss, as long as it's 4 lbs gone forever, that's all that matters right!:carrot:

Diana, my 21 yr. old son is an awesome singer and we do duets together quite a bit. He isn't shy at all and he always announces he is singing with his mom. LOL, the crowd loves it. When it isn't very crowded, I sing a couple of singles by myself. The more relaxed I am, the better I sing. But, since I can't drink, it's hard to get very relaxed. We have a home Karaoke machine that we all love to play around on.

Shellie, glad to see you're back from the SF candy binges. I used to eat those by the bag full. Unfortunately they did cause me to gain so I had to give em up. As for my jewelry, I don't know where it is, the last time I saw my rings they were in my purse and we were at the lake in our boat. They may be at bottom of Kerr Lake.
