LA Weight Loss - Frozen meals

Hello everybody. Thank you so much for this blog, I have found all of you to be such a great resource. I am on blue with lites, my center hasn't changed over to the number system. Is there a way to pick out the frozen meals based on calories/fat/protein? I have a long list in the book they gave me, but sometimes weight watchers or Safeway's new line are on sale. Any hints on how to pick the meals that are program approved? I work evening shift in a hospital, and the frozen meal option makes my life so much easier when the cafeteria is serving deep fried or carb fest. Thank you.

Let me see, we had this come up a while ago. I believe that they should not be less that 200 calories or more than 300 cal. The more protein the better, and try to keep sodium under 600. When you eat them, drink 2 extra glasses of water that day to offset the sodium. I look for ones that are basically protein and carbs. I don't like ones that are entrees with lots of veggies, since the veggies do not count against your daily veggies counts anyway, I don't like wasting calories on them. I love pizzas and panninis the best.

The guidelines for frozen meals in my little pamphlet book are:
Carbohydrate...Less than 40 grams
Protein.............At least 14 grams
Fat...............Less than 10 grams
Sodium.........Less than 750 grams
*Vegetarian entrees should contain greater than 7 grams of protein

I've got the same detail as Jer....it also says to add a tossed salad or fresh fruit to help you feel satisfied.....

what book do you have that gave you frozen food guidelines? I dont think thats in my normal book..

It is in the La Express Menu Plan (that you do the first for weeks when you join) and than the free to Live Menu Plan that you follow after the Express.
