Default Amanzingly Hungry...

Lately I have been so hungry. My appetite is enormous, all I can think about is eating these days and I don't know why. I went through a period where I didn't have an appetite, now I find myself very hungry. Needless to say I have not been sticking to my diet. Anyway, I have now vowed to myself that tomorrow is a new day and I will have to start over.

This is frustrating, any tips on how to overcome this??

I'm a lot more hungry when my "empty" carbs are higher. If I stick to closer to 50% and keep them healthy and therefore increase slightly the protein and healthy fats I find I'm not really hungry like I used to be and I'm not craving sweet things like crazy like I usually do.

It could also be a sign your calorie intake isn't high enough for your daily activity level.

When I'm feeling hungry all the time I know I'm not getting enough protein and/or fiber. Usually it's because I'm eating things with "empty" calories....ironic how those leave you feeling "empty" too, lol!

Same thing for me, but I tend to keep my carbs under 50%. Anything with white flour (white-based bread, tortilla chips, etc) totally does me in. In fact, I'm more hungry after I eat these things than I was before!

White-flour based foods do exactly the same thing to me. I could eat a whole baguette and still be ravenous, but give me whole bread, quinoa or brown rice, and I'm alright for the next five hours. Also, added sugars (for conservation purpose, for instance) tend to make me hungry. I still remember eating a couple of bretzels that left me really more hungry after than before eating them, and they had a sugary after-taste. Darned be industrial bakery.

There could be other reasons, though, like climate. Is it hot where you live, or rather cold these days? Or, worse, have you been going through a period of hot weather getting quite colder two days after--rinse and repeat? That kind of things can also cause one's body to go through caloric expenditure when it didn't expect it, and in turn make you hungrier all of a sudden. Much like lots of us tend to turn to 'heavy' foods when autumn and winter come.
