White-flour based foods do exactly the same thing to me. I could eat a whole baguette and still be ravenous, but give me whole bread, quinoa or brown rice, and I'm alright for the next five hours. Also, added sugars (for conservation purpose, for instance) tend to make me hungry. I still remember eating a couple of bretzels that left me really more hungry after than before eating them, and they had a sugary after-taste. Darned be industrial bakery.
There could be other reasons, though, like climate. Is it hot where you live, or rather cold these days? Or, worse, have you been going through a period of hot weather getting quite colder two days after--rinse and repeat? That kind of things can also cause one's body to go through caloric expenditure when it didn't expect it, and in turn make you hungrier all of a sudden. Much like lots of us tend to turn to 'heavy' foods when autumn and winter come.
