WW Clubs and Groups - #186 Bale of Turtles Welcoming Friends!
08-17-2007, 01:34 PM
We are the Turtle Group here at www.3fatchicks.com. We welcome you to join us as we work toward good health and fitness in a persistent manner. As our inspiration we use the race between the turtle and the hare where the turtle was the victor because he didn't give up. We believe in keepin' on even when the odds are against us. We believe in giving each other support. Good luck to us all!
I hope i don't offend anyone by getting this thread started being the new girl and all.:?: I had my weigh in on Wed. morning and went from 212 to 210.5. I have been struggling with emotional eating because i have been stressed over looking for a new house. I hope that everyone else is having an OP day.
08-18-2007, 11:34 AM
Dear Cherry Autumn and all the Turtles,
Glad to see you on this new thread! Congrats on your great weight loss, Cherry!!! :bravo: :cp: :cheer: Weigh to go. Keep up the good work. I bet 1/2 the people trying to lose weight are emotional eaters. The great thing about WW's is that it tries to have you think of optional things to do instead of eating when you're emotional or under stress.
I'm having a good week even though it's hectic. I'm trying to listen to how my body feels and am trying much harder to eat only when I'm hungry.
Have a great weekend, everyone.

Happy Tuesday all!
Well, W/I was just plain ugly on Saturday... between vacations and the med's I was up 6.0 lbs! I am off of the meds and back on track though so I will keep on chugging along.
Hope all is well with everyone!
08-21-2007, 06:22 PM
Tomorrow is my WI and I'm hoping I'll be down a smidge or so. Princess, I hear you loud and clear about your weight gain. All I can think to say is that now you've stopped taking meds your weight will go down again and I say :bravo: to you for going to your WI even though you knew you'd be up.
It's the denial and ignoring the weight gain that got me every time and before I knew it the six pounds became ten became twenty. So, I' m sending you a :cheer: to keep your spirits up. Thanks for chiming in and I know you'll make this a good week.
Ariana, are you settled in your new place yet?
Bandit, how are you doing? We've had so much rain and cold weather here lately. Are you getting the same? Is your dd back at school yet?
Chrily, how are you feeling?
Take care and do well.

Not much new going on around here... just busy getting DS ready to go off to college tomorrow...
I have started a class for my project management certification that is just stressful and a huge mountainous work load comes with the class... the good news is that it only last 12 weeks so it is all do-able but it is a total of class time plus another 200-300 hours worth of studying for the next 3 months.
The scale is not budging so I really need to start watching my daily intake more and I need to get out and do more walking.
Have a great day all!
08-24-2007, 12:25 AM
I posted earlier, but it didn't take. Anyway, my weight stayed the same this week, but at least I didn't gain. Now I have exercised two days in a row and am counting on that to do the trick. We have non-stop company and parties in the next couple of weeks, so I have to get out early tomorrow and stock the house with more fruit and veggies to help keep me on track. Good luck to us all.
08-24-2007, 01:56 PM
I would like to keep posting here but i am kind of doing a form of calorie counting and WW points. Can i still post here? My weigh ins are now on Wed. mornings.
08-24-2007, 06:53 PM
Of course you can post here. We love to see your progress. This isn't an "official" WW site==we just are a group of gals who use WW's to lose weight. We really encourage each other as best we can , so we're happy to have you here. I have a feeling we all "tweak" WW's every once in awhile to shake up our weight loss.
Hey, congrats :cp: :bravo: on such a wonderful loss already.
I'll be busy this weekend, but I'll try and chime in--so far 2 days down and I exercised both days. I've gotta keep that up.
08-26-2007, 11:54 PM
Thanks for letting me stick around. I am disappointed in myself. I can't seem to even stay motivated and have enough willpower for one day. I just don't know what to do. I cannot give up because i have to do this for my health. It gets so frustrating having to fight myself everyday.
08-27-2007, 09:26 AM
I got on the treadmill Sat. and Sun. even though family members were here.
Trying to put myself on the important list! Eating could have been better, but it was pretty decent and I'm pleased.
Cherry, a lot of us have gone through (or are going through) what you are right now with motivation. One suggestion is to take baby steps. Keep saying in your mind, "I can do this this hour". Fake it till you make it. Drink your water, write down every single thing you eat (you'll think twice about eating it if you have to write it down) and get in some movement each day.
Don't beat yourself up, congratulate yourself on what you're doing right, and keep on keepin' on. None of this is easy, but it is doable. :grouphug: and :cp: for posting.
08-27-2007, 11:29 AM
Wondering where everyone has gone to. I am making a new start this morning. I am just going to do the best I can.
Judy, thanks for all of the support. My husband tells me I am to hard on myself and that i am doing a good thing. I have very low self esteem so i need to work on that and look for the positive in what i am doing and quite seeing myself as a failure. Cause i know i am really not a failure
08-27-2007, 02:11 PM
Happy Monday all,
Well I went to W/I on Saturday... I was down .8... not much but I will take it as I thought that I had gained even more from last time. I am back on the meds again but that is ok... I am going to really track and watch what I eat and get outside and get walking... along with the pilates classes I should be back on track in no time.
Sorry I have been MIA lately... the work load from this class that I am taking is crushing so I have no extra time anymore.
I made a big pot of the Garden Vegetable Soup this weekend for lunches and it turned out very good! I forgot how much I liked that until I was trying to come up with low point lunch items... I have just been plowing thru my points so early in the day that it is almost a given that I will be over by the end of the day... this will help though.
I have to run but will check back later on...
Autumn... I think we all suffer from low self esteem in one form or another... I think that is a huge contributor as to why we end up over weight... food = comfort. You are doing great though... don't stress and just keep on going, you will be fine!
Judy... thank you so much for keep us going... you are a miracle!
Talk to you all soon!
08-28-2007, 04:42 PM
Ladies -- a quick note to tell you that I am well and hope that you are the same. I'm putting in some OT during lunch, my primary posting time, and I will continue to do so until I can't take it anymore, so I will be quiet for quite a while. I'm sorry to be gone so long. Take care ladies, and be well. I will see you all in a while...
08-29-2007, 12:40 PM
Ariana - Nice to hear from you.
I had my weigh in this morning and i was 210. Last week i was 209.5 but during the week peaked at 211.5 so i guess that atleast i got back down to 210. I have only been counting calories for a couple days so i think i just need to give it a chance to work. I did have 8 glasses of water yesterday which was an improvement for me.
Princess - Great job on the weightloss. Every little bit counts. It is much better than going up.
08-29-2007, 05:17 PM
Ariana! It is so good to hear from you... I was getting worried about you. I know it is hard being so busy, I am too right now and don't get on line like I used to. Talk to you soon!
Autumn: Thanks... anything lower is good news for me...LOL
Judy: How are you doing?
I have to run!
08-30-2007, 05:47 PM
so glad to hear from you. Know you're busy, but we're all pulling for you.
glad to hear from you and glad your weight went down, not up.
I give you credit for thinking about how you're handling your week and for drinking that water. Weigh to go!
:cp: :bravo: :grouphug: for all of us.
Bandit, chime in when you can.
I can't remember a time when I've been busier. Went to WW WI and stayed exactly the same again. vEry discouraging since I was on the treadmill four times this week. Well, I'm still trying but have to watch the Off Core foods because they are probably what is keeping my weight on.
Take care and be well. Chime in when you can.

Happy Friday all!
Morning everyone, it is a beautiful day here in Indy... my mom got in way earlier then expected... last night instead of this afternoon, so needless to say I have been running around like chicken without a head! I am only in the office for a couple of hours this morning and then home to be with mom and do some shopping...
W/I tomorrow, I am praying for a good one as I have really been on track with food, not cardio but will get back on that this weekend... with taking my classes I am just going to have to fit it in when I can and not stress when I can't.
Have a great holiday weekend all!
09-01-2007, 08:34 AM
Good luck on your WI. Glad you're having time to spend with your Mom. Hey, as far as being super busy with the new courses you have to take--this will pass and you'll get a nice promotion out of the deal. It's super worth it.
(Thanks for calling me a miracel. Aw shucks, I really appreciated that!)
My son and his wife and grandkids are here--for a 5-day vacation with us.
So far we've done very well in everything but eating. Today I have to have a better plan. We've been so busy, I've been too pooped to cook, so maybe now while I have the energy I should make a dish for tonight. Yay--a plan!
Tomorrow we're grilling for a big BBQ and I'll be taking some shortcuts, but it will still be a lot of work--should be fun though.
I stepped on the scale and realize I'm already up about one half of a pound. Seems like when my dd stepped on the scale, she reset it for under two hundred pounds and then set it back incorrectly at the two hundred marker. All last week I thought I had lost about two pounds, but I hadn't. Ugh. So now I've got it reset (it's a doctor type scale with the marker that chunks into different major settings and then you tweak the pounds within that category) and I'll have to be very careful about my food intake. Lots of temptations, but I think I'll get some figure friendly food in right now before the household stirs.
Take care, drink your water (you too Judy) and everybody have a great weekend.

I haven't been doing well but i am still here. I have been very stressed and struggling with depression but i am determined not to give up. Reading your posts helps motivate me. I will be back.
09-02-2007, 11:39 AM
Don't give up. Motivation is the biggest obstacle to most of us. My leader hears from loads of people to find out ways to be motivated, but it comes from inside us. In the meantime while we wait for motivation to "click" in and become routine, a lot of people take baby steps and make believe they are completely on program--and lots of times that quick starts the motivation.
Anyway--take it easy, don't be hard on yourself. Our site is quiet right now because we are all terrifically busy--with good stuff, but still busy. So keep on chiming in whether you're doing great or having a bit of trouble and we'll keep on responding.
Everyone: Have a great weekend.
Hello Turtles could I join you on the road to health and fitness looks like a great group :D
09-03-2007, 01:25 PM
Thanks Judy for the support. I know i am not doing well but i just keep trying. I think even not doing well i am doing better than i use to.
INVU - Nice to meet you. This is a nice group of very supportive ladies.
09-04-2007, 11:18 AM
Sure, you're welcome to chime in, get support and give it! We try and keep each others' spirits up and keep on keepin' on. Let us know a little about yourself. It's pretty exciting to see that you're from New Zealand.
I'm a long time member of WW's who is struggling right now. I have to get back to baby steps and treating myself right. I weigh about 220#, am older than the other members in this group, but love the group contact and community spirit. My older dd is getting married in October and there is a lot of excitement going on here right now.
Glad to have you aboard.
Cherry Autumn, you're doing fine. Congratulate yourself on each step that gets you where you want to go and try and tweak the rest.
My ds and his family have left after a 5-day vacation with us. It was a lot of fun--a lot of work too! I'm happy for a little peace and quiet and rest, but then I've gotta get going for preparation for my dd's shower since we're holding it at home and I'm doing all the cooking.
09-04-2007, 11:39 AM
Welcome to our new folks! It is great to have you with us!
My weekend was busy but wonderful, mom and I did lots of shopping and had a great time. I was down 1.8 at W/I on Saturday morning, it felt great! But of course my TOM arrived this morning so it is a short lived victory but I will take it! :D
Everyone sounds busy, but I guess it is that time of the year.
I have to run but will check back later on.
09-05-2007, 10:39 AM
HOw amazing that you were down almost 2# even with your dm visiting you!
Weigh to go! :cp: :bravo:
I'm heading over to my weekly WW mtg. and I'll let you know how it goes.
I'm expecting a 2# gain and I've got to get my head out of the sand!
09-05-2007, 12:49 PM
HI TUrtles All,
Yes, I gained 2# this week, but I"m okay with it. I've got a good attitude now and that's half the battle.

I am doing fairly well. I continue to watch my calories and make sure to get in my water. I exercised this morning. 1 mile of Walk Away the Pounds!
I weighed in at 208.5. Last week i weighed in at 210 so i guess i have a 1.5 pound loss. YAY!
09-05-2007, 08:26 PM
Cherry, Weigh to go! :cp: :bravo: :carrot:

09-06-2007, 10:58 AM
Thanks Judy for the encouragement.
INVU- Sorry you have a cold. I have a little boy that is 3 months old and he is a great little man. I also have a little girl that is 2 years old. Just keep moving forward and we will make it happen.
09-07-2007, 09:30 AM
Great to have INVU and Cherry here on the site. Good luck with your little guys and gals. Losing weight with small children in the house can be tricky, but lots of our members have done it and so can you. Try to think of your daily goals (eating WW foods--not the baby's leftovers) and you'll be fine.
Have a great day.
Today I am babysitting for a short while and then am going to the memorial service for our dear friend. We miss him terribly. It will be a long day, but I'm going to focus on the reason we are all getting together to commemorate him and deal with my emotions. I will also deal with eating the closest to core that I can get. Wish me luck!
09-07-2007, 12:39 PM
I hope things go well for you Judy. I am sorry for the loss of your friend. I am 24 and have never really experienced that. I did lose my grandpa but i was like 8 and don't really remember it.
09-07-2007, 12:41 PM
Happy Friday all!
Just a quick stop by to see what is going on... not much is new with me.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend!
09-10-2007, 09:39 AM
Well W/I went as expected.... since it was that TOM I was up 1.0 #'s... That is fine...
We had a busy weekend...
How is everyone else doing?
09-10-2007, 12:16 PM
This is about the time when we usually start a new thread. Look for number 187. Wow, we've been at this a long time.
Good luck to all and chime in when you can.
09-21-2007, 01:21 PM
Would you mind if I joined you. I been off plan for about 3 weeks and I've had weight gain. I'm getting back on plan tomorrow and sticking it out for good this time.
09-21-2007, 11:43 PM
We'd be thrilled to have you join us. Start posting on thread #187 because that's where we are now. :grouphug: So glad to have another Turtle on board. We certainly understand backsliding since we've all done it, but we also know--just like you--that you can do this!!!!!
