GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM:
What has happened has happened. If you've had a difficult day, or month, or year, it does no good to dwell on your unfortunate experiences. Move on past them. Avoid the temptation to feel sorry for yourself or to enlist the pity of others. Your troubles are in the past so there is no reason whatsoever for dismay.
Get up and get going. The future is completely open and filled with an unlimited supply of positive possibilities. Today is a new day and you are fortunate enough to be living it. Furthermore, you can decide precisely how to live this day. You can determine what will become of it. Don't look backward with regret or contempt. Look forward with gratitude and excitement.
Your attitude right now matters more than anything that could have ever happened in the past. Forget about making excuses. Focus on making a difference. Every bit of negativity you've ever experienced is now in the past. Do yourself a big favor and leave it there.
-- Ralph Marston

PLEASE make sure you check out the NEW BOARDS I posted. Have been up since 4am working on these (couldn't sleep, so figured, what the heck!). There's a NEW BIO BOARD as well, so please try to update your old BIO into the new board. As much as I didn't want to have to post up a new one, we really needed to get it updated.:)
Have a wonderful day, a fabulous week and the BEST NEW YEARS EVER!!!!!

Hard to believe a whole year has passed already!
Pretty quiet on the board yesterday. Guess everyone is on their way to a ball game or getting ready for a party tonight.
My pesky 1 lb gain from my low seems to want to stay. But, I've got a couple of days till WIW to work on losing it. We're just taking it easy. Going nowhere tonight. Had too much running around and too many late nights this past week and we're all pooped.
I've set myself a goal of 10 lbs (from pre-Christmas weight) gone by the end of February. So that means I want to be 155 by Feb 28.
I like the idea of the monthly goal board. What a great way to start the New Year.
Debelli My inlaws are going to check the HFS near them and it'll give them something to do to go to Boca Raton (only 15 minutes away). Thanks for the info. It was cold here yesterday, but because of the wind. I don't mind when it's just the temp that's cold, but hate the wind chill factor. Poor Buffalo is just in the wrong area of the lake. They always seem to get dumped on with snow, but this week was really bad. 7 feet in 5 days. Toronto sent some machinery and guys to help clear out the snow. We have a slight dusting on the ground. Very strange for us tho. I'm afraid that we'll get it like Buffalo soon!
I want to wish everyone a healthy, safe and
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Good Morning Everyone......Long time no post. I've been thinking about you all lately even though I haven't been posting. Of course with New Years right around the corner I plan to be a woman on a mission....a ugar Busters mission that is.....Hats off to those of you who survived the holidays without going off the food deep end. I was not one of those people. I was at the opposite end of the spectrum. There was so much sugar laden-white flour stuff brought into my work, I announced to my fellow employees to take it all home because I was going to throw everything into the trash if they didn't take it home!
Everything has been going well in my life, already got promoted to Office Manager at my new job, and everyone has been so wonderful there to work with. No stressers like Dr. Evils office was. Since I was promoted we hired one of my dear friends to nurse, so I'm extra lucky to have such a good friend there.
I haven't been lurking on the board, so I hope everyone has been well and had a joyous holiday season. After watching the Rose Parade tomorrow I plan on laying in bed and re-read SB cover to cover to get re-charged. I have mentally been preparing myself for some time that I would get back on track. I was looking for some reasons why I have this weight problem....but all I know for sure is that SB works, I feel so much better with this WOE, I need to do it, and I feel confident that I can and will make my goal this year.
When I first started on this board, I weighed 226, I stayed on plan for about 1 month and was down to 218. Since doing things
"my way", I have found myself with all the weight back, and then some, and am reporting in at 234.5:eek:.
Debelli You are the inspiration for us all. I have never forgotten your kindness, you words of inspiration, your unconditional love despite feeling undeserving since I was not able to stay OP. You are like a mother who never stops loving a child, and I appreciate all the time and effort as well as your dedication to this board.

Here's wishing everyone a safe, happy, losing new year.
Spent last week in LA visiting relatives, first the in-laws, then my folks. Ate dinner Christmas Day with ILs and was not surprised to see no accomadations for my WOE. Can't say they didn't know I wasn't eating sugar or high carbs. Just felt that my situation wasn't important enough to even check with me about foods I could eat. I had decided I was going to eat a small serving or cornbread dressing, because I dearly love it and missed it at Thanksgiving. The thing I had the most trouble with was the chocolate covered macadamia nuts that my MIL always orders for Christmas. I had 5 of them over a two day period and felt awful afterwards. I agree that eating the sugar and chocolate just makes you crave it that much more and that's the reason it's so bad for you.
I did much better eating OP at my folks, but my mom had a huge bowl of pistashios and I really ODed on them. I'm back home now and drinking as much water as I can and working on the 2 lbs. that I gained.
We've had a great vacation. My DS will be here until Thrs. morning. He's made the rounds visiting friends, stayed out until 4am Saturday morning and again last night until 3am this morning. Our Holiday Ball was great and I'll post a picture on the photo board. My best pictures (the ones I took with my new digital camera), I deleted trying to load them onto the computer. I was sick at my stomach about it and still get that feeling now, three days later. My son gave the invocation and my dh didn't get the pics of that, but I did. And some good ones of him dancing with his date. At least now maybe when I ask for help my dh won't be so quick to say no. :(
VA and Cat: Welcome back to the board. I havn't been as faithful as I could be, but I'm sure hoping that now after the holidays, I can get here more. It's really a shame how the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas gets us all so stressed. I know I feel so much better reading from everyone, knowing I'm not alone in this quest for a better me.
Mellie and others: Welcome!!!!
I think the hardest thing to do is just "do it". I had the SB book for a year before I finally felt that I could "give up" the foods that were so toxic to me. Be aware, you will have a terrible headache for a little while, but that's just your body detoxing. Take lots of Tylenol and after the headaches subside, you will be amazed at how you don't crave sugar! A suggestion from others, stay away from all carbs at first, then gradually add them back in. I did't eat any breads or sweet potatoes or brown rice for the first several weeks. I did keep eating fruit but only 2 servings a day, on an empty stomach. And ask questions. We are all here to help.
Well, believe it or not, we have snow in our forecast. I hope it's not a repeat of the ice we had last New Year's Eve. But I'd sure like to see some flakes. It does look like snow clouds, but our weatherman is saying the snow will be south and west of us and up in OK.
Have a great day, everybody. I have a date with my DH to go and see Lord of the Rings today. But we'll make the matinee because I don't want to be out tonight. We haven't been out at NY's for about 8 years. Just like being home by the fire.
Take care,
Jeanie

Happy last day of 2001! Today started at 13 degrees, so needless to say, my workout was indoors. I'm gonna have to teach Cleo to run on the TM if this cold snap doesn't break soon. The scale was up 3 stinkin pounds from 1 reasonably sized portion of chinese food last night- salmon and green beans with onions in black bean sauce. Not even any rice. I know it's full of cornstarch and sodium, but really- 3 pounds worth??? Couldn't figure out what else to eat at the restaurant and didn't get a vote in where we went:( I couldn't even get my usually loose rings on this am, so I'm ending the year up 4 from my low, not a happy situation. Except for the chinese, can't figure out where the rest came from, I guess I need to reread the book or try something new.
Glad to see Nance back and Jred and Cat, guess once tomorrow is over, we'll all be back with some new additions.
HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well Deb you can say you where right! We all come back after the New Year (actually the day before.) I have been lurking here and there! I just noticed the Goal board and its something i was just telling a friend i needed. The last month has been bad for me food wise-well last 3 months! HA!! I have been far from the scale and this is not the week to weigh myself either (TOM! HAPPY DAY!) I guess i will have to think about my 2002 goal and get that on the board- Deb do i need a new BIO? Am i still welcomed! LOL I see lots of newbies and thats exciting! I hope i can help. I am debating if i should go back to WW meetings my mom is going back -again! I should go to support her, but I know i can do this on my own! Anyway i will get around to weighing myself. Tonight we are going to a house party I really would like to just stay home and go to bed! I think i can control the food but am planning some drinks! Started a journal this morning and have written everything that went in my face so far! wooooo hoooo. Going to start the excersise thing on Wend. when the kiddos go back to school. That is one thing i have been doing even though the food stunk! SInce i had that eposde with my back. Got some new weights for xmas and some dimond earings from hubby (gotta love that bonus!) 1.5 of a carot! but they are cute! Here i go babbling off subject -AGAIN! Anyway. just a quick note after getting off work. sure hope everyone has a very happy new year. we have plans to go out with friends for dinner to a little chinese place that we frequent that serves chinese/spanish food of all things. all i have to do is let the owner know if i want shrimp or chicken and she fixes the most beautful plate of steamed vegies and either the chix or shrimp. she knows i do not eat rice or egg rolls or the soup so she loads me up on broccoli and other legal vegies. it is like going to chinese relatives for dinner!
the weather in central florida is wet and chilly, i feel like i am up north, well sort of.
can not wait to see the florida sugarbusters this weekend in orlando and hope the others can get together in the future.
a big hello to everyone on this board and heres to wonderful weight losses this coming year. i told deb that one of my resolutions for the year is to keep posting more regularly, i will have to keep a notepad by the computer to keep track of all of you, you are a very caring and supportive bunch and i am soo thankful that i found this board!

HidieHo all!!!
Okay, Okay!!!!! I blew it. We had jambalaya, cornbread, black eyed peas, and shrimp. I did it and I'd like to say I'm glad, but not...although I don't feel really bad about it. I will survive and will get back on track.......Can I say New Year's Eve and New Year's Day only comes once a year!
Am sick of BOWL GAMES!!! Kids are happy though. I've been watching moveis after going to NH this a.m. We had such a good time the residents almost missed lunch!!!!
Tomorrow morning is mine. I do nothing until Rose Parade is over. I love to watch it!!!
I want to thank you all for being ny friends and supporters this past year, I have lost around 60#, (not sure until I go again to Dr.), and I couldn't have done it without you all.
I look forward to our next year together. We have had our ups and downs and have helped each other celebrate the downs and overcome the ups. We deserve a big hand!
I hope you all have a Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
Take care, Shirley

Evening All:wave:
Sorry I've been MIA today and haven't had time to post-long day and it's not over, still have cleaning to do, been non-stop all afternoon, morning and early afternoon running with my Mom to get things for the party tomorrow. Here it is almost 10pm and I haven't had dinner yet!
The weather is awful here. I walked out the house for my usual walk/jog this morning at 6:15 and it was raining. Tried again around 4pm, again, started to rain. Finally, Michael pushed me out to go, and he went with me, around 5:00, we got caught in a heavy downpour, had no choice but to get wet, only got in 2 1/2 miles:(
I'll try to get on sometime tomorrow night to post and reply to everyone, shouldn't be too late when everyone leaves tomorrow.
I hope you all have a HEALTHY & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Just hopping in to wish you all Happy Healthy New Year!
Saw a build board at a gym that said "Merry Fitness and Happy New Rear!" That's what I plan now that the marathon is almost upon me. I plan to begin more of a fitness routine that includes weight training with my cardio, also plan to do cardio other than running.
My in-laws dog died very suddenly on Sunday and it has made all of us very, very sad. She was a great dog and will be missed. We were just with her on Saturday and it is hard to beleive that she is gone. She was a member of our family too.
DH and I had a quiet evening at home last night. Spewer ***** had a party but didn't see fit to invite us, just everyone else. That's all I will say about that.
Plan to get busy cleaning up the house in an attempt to get ready to go outta town to meet some true FRIENDS!
My best to all of you in 2002!
Peace,

Hello and welcome to the new Year to all,
I got back from my short vacation in Alabama last night just before midnight. WE came back a day early cause We wouldn't of got to see much of my brother last night or today, so we decided to get ahead of the traffic. It was 642 miles of a numb bum, but we were glad to get home.
How was everyone's new year!!!!!! I like to hear how everyone spent it, Nice and quiet suits me just fine these days.
Frog ...I just love that quote...Merry Fitness and Happy NEw Rear.
BoB sounds like you are having a great vacation and enjoying your self. NOt missing much down here...little rain yesterday and a cool day today. 60's
Deb....as I type you must be up to your elbows with company and tons of things to do. I hope that things go well for you and you get a chance to catch your breath when they all go home.
Well....It is great to see so many posts from different people--we are all coming back to get busy and do it to it. I know that with the support we give each other we can be successful.
I do have to start the year out right...by thanking all you people for being there and encouraging me durong the past year, which allowed me to be so successful toward my goals. THANK YOU
Well, I will check back later, need to great something done.

Hi!
Just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone.
Today is my first day on the diet and so far so good. So far my husband has been very understanding and looking forward to some new recipes and alterations in our WOE. My daughter is not so thrilled. I am slowly getting rid of the "illegal" stuff and giving to friends.
It's supposed to snow here tonight! Quite unusual for the Houston area. We however are thrilled! I think this called for Chili tonight!
Looking forward to being on the boards and meeting everyone.

Seems like I keep checking in but noone is here today. Eveyone must be nursing their New Year's Eve hangover!
DH and I just finished eating dinner. Had to get those new year's black-eyed peas eaten! That must be a southern thing.
Took my last run, 4 miler, until SUNDAY, SUNDAY SUNDAY!!!! :spin: Getting pretty exciting now!
I hope this weather front doesn't mess us up on our travels though! We have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, just hope we don't need it to go to Florida of all places!
Will check back in tomorrow! Good Luck with WIW.

Happy New Year everybody!
I've finally gotten back OP the last three days.:) Not sure how much I gained over the holidays, but my jeans are definitely tighter than they were.:( Of course TOM is right around the corner. I never know exactly when. My gyn said I could take the pill to help with the hot flashes and it would also regulate my cycle. I haven't decided about that one yet. We had a pretty quiet New Years Eve. We took the kids to see Monsters Inc. They all had popcorn, but I was good.:) Just sat there and drank my diet Coke. The kids are wild and ready to go back to school. I'm ready for them to go back too. I'm just not ready to go back myself.
wafra66: Welcome aboard from another Tina in TX. You'll love this WOE and I hope you have as much success as many of us have. I hear it's supposed to snow down your way. Way too strange for Houston. My brother lives down there. He works for the Chronicle.
Hope everyone has a great 2002!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
FINALLY, I can sit down and relax AND POST!!!! Gosh, I feel like I've been MIA for a lifetime. Where do I start???????:?:
I hope you all had a good time ringing in the New Year last night. Eli and I stayed home, and I cleaned. About 10 minutes before midnight I sat down and we watched NY ring in the NY, kissed each other, the kids and headed to bed. Eli called his sister in Lebanon and I fell asleep.
Woke up an hour later than I thought I would this morning, wanted to get in my 4.5 miles before I started to do more that had to be done-trust me, I was no where near finished. Well, after I got back, I started doing everything and preparing the food. I was making BLINTZ SOUFFLE among a few other things, and I had a little problem. I used too much butter and the batter rose to the edge of one of the pans of BS, so it started to spill over. Well, it got a little smokey, and I really didn't get too concerned over it, got a pan and stuck it under the dripping pan. Well, the smoke got a bit worse and I opened the oven and there was FIRE IN MY OVEN!!!! Well, I freaked and didn't know what the heck to do! I was ready to call 911 for the fire department, as I envisioned my house going up in smoke, as it was already filled with smoke and the smoke detector was going off. Thank goodness for good ol MOM! She asked for baking soda, threw it in the oven (thank goodness I even had some, otherwise, we would of been calling the fire dept!). It put out the fire! Needless to say, the house was filled with smoke, so all the windows and doors had to be opened to clear the air. Here is it 11am, which is the time I called this to start, and I haven't even taken a shower yet!!!! So, I have Lauren run over to my neighbors house with chicken fingers that need to be cooked and I hop in the shower-get in and out, make-up and hair blow dryed (not looking good though, so had to stick it up in a clip) in about 15 minutes! Anyhow, to make this long story short, the smoke cleared, the party was a success and even those blintz souffles came out well after all! As I write this, I have my oven on self-cleaning and thanking God that it's even working, as I was worried the element got fried in the fire!
Okay, confession time-I FINALLY CHEATED!!!!!! Not a bad cheat, but a cheat just the same, not to mention I ate entirely WAY too much! I had not one, but two HUGE bagels! Now, let me tell you, I haven't had but 3-4 bagel halfs since I started SB almost 2 years ago, so for me to have 2 bigger-than-usual ones, this was really unheard of. Even before I started SB, I never had more than 1, so I have no idea what got into me. ALSO, if that wasn't bad enough, 1 was pumpernickle, the other, I'm not sure, maybe Multi-grain, but it was hard to tell, so I'm sure it wasn't SB LEGAL! THEN, I had 2 of the blintzes from the souffle, other than that, I didn't touch anything else, no cake, no ice cream (Grandparents 66 Anniversary and Nephews Bday), nothing, so, not a big cheat, but a cheat just the same. Seems like the scale is having me pay for it already. Just hopped on there and saw 126! Haven't seen a number like that in a while. Hoping it's because I'm almost at mid-cycle and NOT from not drinking water, journaling and not eating the way I should!
Trying to get the kitchen back in order before Eli comes home, he had to go to work at 3pm. I swear, I couldn't of done this without him, he's such a help. He was making cappucino for everyone today-even I liked it, and I don't drink coffee! What a great guy! Mom was a big help too, can't forget her!
I can't believe in just4 days we'll be in Orlando. I haven't made a single call yet about reservations-why am I like this??? I keep saying I'll do it tomorrow, but I HAVE to do it tomorrow! Otherwise, we may have to sleep in the street! The kids are driving up with us and I'm going to drop them off to stay the day and overnight with my cousins who are staying in a time-share place right next to Disney. I'll pick them up Sunday late afternoon before we head back home-the have school on Monday, so don't want it to be too late. So looking forward to meeting FROG, SOL, BIGK & SZU and seeing GATOR as well. Also, I must say, I'm glad to see that the oven is working, was wondering how I was going to be able to make my quiche and zuchinni loaf cake. Geez, just as I think I have some free time, I realize, Friday, I'm going to be busier than heck to get ready to leave Sat morning at 5amish!
I hope you all like the changes on the board for this year. Please forgive me for not running them by you, with all that I've been trying to accomplish recently, and the board being quiet, I took it upon myself to just implement the changes. If you have any suggestions or gripes, don't hesitate to let me know-all input is appreciated, no matter if it's positive OR negative.
BIO BOARD I felt we needed to get a brand new board going for the New Year. I know personally, I needed to update my info and for those who've been on the board quite a while, I'm sure you too needed to revamp yours. Sorry Newbies, I know you just posted, but hopefully, doing it a second time just increases your skills of posting on our board;) You can easily keep the old version of your BIO on the last BIO BOARD by going to that board, clicking EDIT, then copying your BIO, going to the new board and posting your BIO by pasting it right into the new bio board. I just added a couple things, like your AOL BUDDY NAME, and a few favorites.
RECIPE BOARD I thought we could group 3 months of recipes onto one board, doing it quarterly. I think it will make recipes easier to find and having 8 less boards for me to keep updating so they will stay towards the top.
GOAL BOARD I thought this was a good board to start for the New Year, of course, it's self explanitory.
DAILY HAPPENINGS I changed TUESDAY TIPS to TUESDAY TIPS AND FACTS and made FRIDAY'S - FUN FRIDAYS. I thought being it's the end of the week, we could all use some laughter in our day, so this day is reserved for funny e-mails you've gotten with jokes, stories, etc.
I think I covered just about everything, didn't I? If you have any other ideas, throw them at me!!!!
ZANNE, good luck on making your goal by the end of February, it's definitely doable. Let me know if your in-laws can find the agave there-again, they carry it at other stores, they should have it there. Tell them to check where the maple syrups are, or just to ask someone. If they get to Ft. Lauderdale area, there are places that do have it, and the place I order mine from is in Pembroke Pines on Pines Blvd off I-75, so if they plan on going that way, let me know and I'll give you the name and number and even order if for you and they can pick it up there-or maybe the store can ship it to them in WPB if need be-would be cheaper in postage, I would think, than from elsewhere. I heard about those in Buffalo with all the snow-glad you aren't having as bad a time as they are. Good luck for WIW tomorrow!
NANCE, what a joy to have you back at home! Glad we got in a little chat before you had to get Nad, and like I said, we MUST get in a phone date before long. I'm thrilled to know everything fell right into place with your getting a new job, Dan getting a good job and the kids doing well. All the excuses are out the door now and I know you have a new attitude to go along with your new SB mission! I have full confidence you will rise to the occasion this time. I'm glad you are dusting yourself off and ready to drive that wagon right back on the right track! {{{HUGS}}}
JRED, glad to see your post! I do think you are right about the sugar making you crave more. When I was pre-SB, I would eat sugar, and then more sugar-you'd think I'd of gotten sick from all the sugar I wanted, but no, I just wanted more and more-hmmm, isn't that like a junkie with heroin??? Can't wait to see your pics! What kind of camera did you get. I still haven't taken the one Eli got me out of the box-hmm, maybe Saturday on our way up to Orlando, that would be a good time to open it and read the manual! I surely don't want what happened to you to happen to me-guess I will take both cameras on the trip. Do you have that little thing that stores pictures on the memory? I think it's called a CompactFlash? I have to buy one of those. Hope you enjoyed your date with DH!!!
MEL, 13 degrees, my goodness, that's cold! We actually had beautiful weather despite they warned us of rain today. It was cool enough to open the windows and still be cool with almost 30 people in my house. Thank goodness it was, otherwise it would of been miserable-esp. with trying to air out the house! Honey, don't dare complain about your 4lbs up from your low-lets talk turkey here! Tonight, I'm up 7.5 from my low!!!! Splain that one!!!! I'm sure it's temporary, for both of us-lets think positively!!!!
RHROO, being right is good and bad as I'm thrilled to see people back on the board who haven't been around for a while, yet, as I always predict, there are some who will never come back again. They got run over by the wagon so many times in the past couple months they've lost their memory and can't seem to recall where we are anymore! Good for you on the journaling, it definitely helps and I see a difference when I do do it and when I don't. Wow, diamond earrings, huh-you must of been a very good girl this year!!!!
BIGK, what a great sounding place you go to for dinner-that's the way every restaurateur should be with their guests! Weather farther South isn't any better than what you have. Hoping this weekend will be a good, not too cold cause darned if I have a thing warm to wear. Do make sure you and SZU drive safely, and we'll see you in just a few days!!!
SEF, I'm sure that wonderful array of food won't make you gain, not one meal. I always tell other that and I'm praying to God that it's true since I had a meal today that I shouldn't of. Heck, after 21 months on SB and not a cheat once, I should be saying to myself it was no big deal, but I feel it was-oh well, tomorrow is another day!
BOB, glad to hear you are enjoying your much-deserved vacation and visting with family. I will gladly pinch the old fart on the butt, give him a wet one for you as well. He wants to know when you are coming to visit-surely, like the rest of us, he's not happy you aren't joining us this weekend, he thought his partner-in-crime would be there with him! Can you believe that NANCE is back!!! YEAH!!! Let us know when you get back home!!!
FROG, I too love the saying! Sorry to hear about your IL dog, so sad to lose a pet, but worse when it's like another child. I hope this latest SPEWER ephisode opens the door to not have her ever again at your home-who needs someone like that! Oh, I'm sure we'll hear about this on Saturday!!! I'm sorry I haven't replied to your e-mails-please forgive me-we'll chat on Saturday-better in person. Can't wait!!!!!
LAMAP, glad to see you back, safe and sound. I'm sure you will have another wonderful and successful year-you didn't great last year, and there's more greatness to come!
WAFRA, hope you survived your first SB day without a hitch. You MAY possibly feel some headaches as your body starts to detox from the sugars and refined products, just stay strong and know this will pass. Think of it as a drug detoxing out of your body. Hope you stay warm there in Houston!!!!!
MUSIC, glad to see your post and that your back OP these past 3 day-good for you. I'm sure those jeans will loosen up again soon. I was ready to have the kids go back to school the day after they got out! "I'm bored" starts the very next day, and I hate to hear that broken record!!!
Well gals, technically, TOMORROW IS WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!!! I know I personally will be having one of those days that I'll of wished I threw the scale into the oven when it was on fire! I hope you all fair much better than I will tomorrow-there's no way I'll be down much from what I am tonight, and I'm def. going to be up from last week. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
Well, that's it for me, at least for tonight. I'll check back with the board sometime tomorrow. Hoping to get in my walk/jog in the morning. I don't want to miss any days since I won't be able to go out Saturday or Sunday!!!
Hi, I have been hearing some good things about Sugar Busters and have bought the book to read to see if this way of eating would be good for me.
I would really appreciate any input that anyone can give. I have quite a lot of weight to get rid of (135 pounds).
Thanks

This is NOT good news!!
We are expecting snow starting tonight through tomorrow that may be significant amounts. What in the world are we going to do? Hopefully we will be able to make our way to the IL's in the Blazer tomorrow to deposit our pooch. The heaviest of the snow fall is to the east and includes the area where my IL's live! My biggest fear is that we won't be able to leave NC until SAT, with that set of circumstances we won't make SOL's on Sat and the marathon may not happen either if we can't get through registration! This is making an already crazy person (me) even more NUTS!!!
Promise to keep all of you posted, especially the FLA girls! as I learn more about the weather and our plans. :?:
Gotta go get ready for work!
Peace,
FROG

I see things are getting back to "normal" here. Sooooo many posts!
Well, the first day of the NY was ok--till the evening! I ate OP all day. Even made WW pasta for the whole family (I usually do it only for me). Didn't exercise:^: but the worst was the chocolate and salt cravings! TOM is due today and I just had to have my salt and chocolate. A bowl of cheesies and 1/3 of a Terry's chocolate orange. Mind you, this was all washed down by 1.5 litres of water:lol:
The good news is, being it's WIW, I'm still at only 1 lb above my low of 165 (I refuse to change my sig;) ). Considering I was up to 168 yesterday, I'll take the 166--especially with TOM due any second.
I went to the Body for Life site yesterday and ordered the contest registration package. I may not enter the contest officially (gonna read the material thru first) but I thought it may give me more incentive to get my rear in gear. From what I've read, anyone can enter. You don't have to necessarily follow that particular program. Just in case anyone else is interested.
Sheann Welcome to the boards. This is a great place for support and info. Ask anything and I'm sure someone will have the answer for you! I'm still doing a lot of learning myself. I can follow this WOE (way of eating) better than any other plan I've tried. I haven't lost much weight in the 4 months I've been trying this WOE, but I haven't been as strict as I can about following it. I have lost one clothes size and a bunch of inches.
Debelli Oh my goodness! What a day you had yesterday!:dizzy: Glad to hear everything turned out well in the end. Don't worry about your little lapse. You kept yourself in check by not having anything else illegal, so like you said, it wasn't a big cheat. You were probably stressed (hmm, oven fire, 30 people coming over, ya- big time stress) and hungry and just grabbed something to eat without thinking about it.
The changes to the boards are great! We all really appreciate how you keep the boards organized for us all. It's a lot of work.
Thanks for the info about the agave. My inlaws said they'd call if they couldn't find it. I should know in a few weeks. They aren't shy about asking for it and hey-it gives them something to do;)
Music Teach WTG for getting back on track. The holidays are such a hard time to stay OP.
Frog I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll have good weather for your run. I'm sending you telepathic good wishes for Saturday. I love that saying you saw! Sorry to hear about your inlaws dog. So very sad to lose a furry family member.
Wafra66 Welcome Aboard. Glad to hear your first day went well.
BOB Hope you're enjoying your vacation.
lamap Good to see you post. We had a quiet NY. Stayed in. Too tired from all the running around over the holidays.
Sef WOW! 60 lbs gone! That's wonderful.
BigK Your dinner sounds lovely. That's wonderful that they cook special just for you.
Rhroo Good to see ya. I like the "To Goal and Beyond".
Meliris Your dedication to exercise inspires me. Sorry to hear of your gain after you've been working so hard. It's probably just water retention cause of all the sodium in the Chinese food and will come off in no time.
jred Glad you had a nice vacation. Too bad your ILs didn't accomadate you. Sometimes people just don't think. But you got back on track and that's what counts.
Nance That's great that you are doing so well in your new job. Sounds like you're determined to get back on track with SB. You can do it! We ALL can!
Rosalie How's my fellow Canuk? Hope you're ok and just working too much to post. The colder weather is here, but still no snow. I'm actually missing the snow.
Anyone I missed A great big Hello
WHEW!!!! I thought I had lost this long post for a minute. Really glad I found it.
Well,Here's to a New Year and a New US!
I can't promise long posts like this all the time, but I'm gonna try to post something nearly every day.
Hope y'all have a good one!

Sorry, I must have been typing while you posted.
Bad news about the weather coming your way. I'll keep wishing it to come here instead (sorry Marie), but I don't know if Mother nature will listen to me.
I think I'm a little mixed up. Are you running on Saturday or Sunday? I'm sure you've said it many times, but this brain is like a seive.
I'm keeping postive thoughts for you. Both that the weather stays out of your way and that you'll do well with your run.

Happy New Year All!!
Well, it's definitely back to being OP!!! I cheated over New Year's and it's time to be a good girl.
I made no resolutions, they inly get broken.
My dd left for MD this a.m., I am concerned about the roads, supposed to be icy. Around here the DOT is not prepared for ice, they'll just wait and let God take it away, after all He put it there! They don't know what a sand truck is in the south! At least she is used to driving in all conditions.
My ds is heading toward Fort Worth (more ice) but he is leaving a little later so roads should be better. He and gd are taking gd's friend from Ft. Worth, who had been visiting, to meet her parents. who are driving to meet them halfway. They've done this before a couple of times so they have it down pat!
This weather not great for "arthur" my left hand is swollen quite a bit. But this too shall pass!
Don't think I will attempt to take my tree down today. I usually leave it up until Little Christmas. I remember one time at the NH where I worked, I started to take down the decorations on the 3rd or 4th and had a revolution on my hands!!! The residents wanted them up til Little Christmas, so stay up they did!!!
I am so far behind on posts, have read them all but can't type that many responses, so will start fresh. I will welcome the newcomers, you will find what I found here......friendship, support and education about food, behavior, clothes, determination and fun.
You may find a little crankiness among certain people who will be going into withdrawal from BOWL games and the dread that the Super Bowl ends the season, so be kind they know not what they do........well they do actually, but we will be kind. Now being a figure skating fanatic is different! I have the Olympics yet!
Okay enough for now!!!! Take care, sef

Good morning all. Hope your New Years was good. I stayed home and stayed op. I plan on staying strictly SB this year, as I can see what going off plan can do to hamper weight loss. I started in March of 01 at 190 and got down to 170 by Thanksgiving with a few cheats here and there, but totally lost my mind beginning in December where I managed to put 10 lbs back. But like everyone says its a New Year and I have New Resolve.
I weighed in yesterday as it was the New Year.
190/180/135 my stats for WIW
Nance - congrats on promotion. Its always nicer to have job you like to go to, makes life a little easier.
jred - I can identify with you on the digital camera. I got one for my anniversary and ruined some good Thanksgiving shots. I just couldnt figure out how to keep my hand from moving before I took the picture. What kind do you have? We got a good deal online for a Nikon Coolpix 995.
Wafra66 - welcome to the board. glad to hear you had a good first day. We are a friendly group and help each other out as best we can. We try to answer questions, provide moral support, and even help with motivation. Snow in Houston, send some down my way I live in Texas City and would love to get a little of that white stuff.
Sheann - welcome to the board also. The plan is doable and you can lose the weight but staying OP (on plan) is a major part. If you read my little ditty at the top you can see that cheating does have its downfalls.
Deb - wow what a day for you!!!!! Thank goodness your mom was there and you had baking soda, I would have hated to see you on the news. I had the same problem. I was cooking a turkey for Christmas and my oven bag had a leak and turkey juice had dripped on the bottom of oven. Smoke everywhere no fire though. had to open windows even tho it was pretty cold outside.
Thankfully the turkey was almost done. Cheating huh! Now I know your human lol!!!
Frog - becareful of the snow, i will try and send some of my Texas sunshine your way.
Everyone else that I missed kudos on the weight loss, welcome to the boards, and keep up the good work.
I will try and stay more connected this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well, I said I’d be back after the New Year, and here I am, and I plan on staying. I find it getting a little difficult to post regularly, but I am committed to reading the posts as often as I can. As predicted, my October 31 – Jan 1 gain arrived, and I am h*ll-bent on getting rid of it and more. AS a matter of fact, I am not going to weigh myself for a couple of weeks because I can’t stand seeing the weight on the scale….it doesn’t exist, as it’s going to be gone SOON!
Two months of not exercising and eating whatever has taken its toll. I just find it too hard to NOT party, and with my kids having hockey 8 times a week, sometimes those pretzels or quick meals just make life simpler. I really don’t know how to keep OP and keep my sanity when you combine the holidays, hockey, work, cold…it’s like there are too many things going against me. And now the gain. Well, the holidays are gone, so that’s a biggie – hockey I will have to deal with, work still is very unfulfilling, yet convenient, and the cold…well, time to dust off the treadmill. Gotta.
We had friends stay over for New Years’ with their kids and my GF told me about this book, 30 Day Gourmet – where you cook for one whole day (pref with a friend) and wind up with a month’s worth of complete freezer meals, portioned out, with instructions, etc. She did two weeks’ worth and said it was great! I ordered the book, thinking if I could get my 2 DS’s and DH’s meals out of the way at night, then I can focus on making SB food for me. BUT it’s a big endeavor, like I need another one, LOL….I’m going to read the book and see what I can come up with, or if it’s just another big project to make me crazy.
I’m also getting geared up to get back into selling on Ebay (Deb – YES on the digicam!). I stopped mid December as I sent two items to the wrong party – a big sign I was overwhelmed! Luckily, the people were wonderful and forwarded for me….but I had to take a break. Now the problem is that I store all of my goodies in the garage and the garage is so darned cold!!!!! Well, if I want that new roof, I have to get going!
The other big thing that made me crazy during Nov/Dec was that we had our kitchen renovated, and new floors put in the family room and the kitchen. I love it (Deb, you saw the pics!)….but it was a real inconvenience and DH, the kids and I were at each other’s throats manya time – we had 4 couches in the living room, had to squeeze through a path to the dining room, all food was fast or takeout…..what a mess. Now that my kitchen is gorgeous and streamlined, I know it was all worth it….and finally, the cleaning lady is coming today, after a month, construction, 3 sets of overnight guests, etc., etc.!!!!
Well, enough about me!
Actually, no….I hope the recipe boards will show some easy, quick SB legal meals to make – always a problem for me. I don’t even know what I’m making for dinner tonite – no hockey…but nothing is defrosted, etc…..not a good way to start!
DEB – You’re going to Orlando! Take me with you!!! Did you finally make ressies? Can’t believe you hadn’t yet! Are you going to WDW or just visiting with SB friends??? You cannot imagine what I would give to see a palm tree just about now! Glad your fire wasn’t a 4-alarmer! And don’t worry about the bagels, sheesh – first of all, it’s our birthright to eat them, secondly, you have been sooooooooooooo amazingly OP, it’s ok to have a little cheat ----ONCE in a while! Is the blintz soufflé SB legal?? Would love that recipe.
FROG – so sorry about the doggie. During this crazy time I once again learned how important my cats are to me….when everyone else is going nuts, I just need to find a warm and purring creature to chill me out! I hope your parents get a new one soon. Good luck with the snows, it’s second nature here, but I hope your roads get cleared efficiently.
BOB – thank you for missing me, hon!~!!!!! Tell me, are you still not smoking? Awesome, girl!
NANCE – I’m with you on re-reading the book – have it with me here at work and hope to sneak some time to get a refresher. I did go off the diet “deep-end” and have no excuses other to get back OP. Hope you join me.
SHIRL – congrats on the 60 pound tally. That is a wonderful accomplishment. You must feel light years better. You go girl!!
NEWBIES – give me a little time to get to know ya, okay? And welcome!
BTW, KIM and I correspond regularly. I don’t think she’s headed back to SB….she needs some time to figure out what’s best for her and doesn’t feel she will be able to completely eliminate sugar from her eating. Too bad for the boards, as she is such a hoot, and such a caring person….but everyone has to do what’s best for them. Maybe WW will work out for her, need to ask if she’s ever tried it.
Well, back to the grindstone for me. Let’s get this year off on the right foot…and the path to success (sounds like an ad, sorry….)
Thanks for all the positive wishes! I really appreciate it.
After day #1, I weighed myself this morning and was down 1 pound! I am thrilled!
This morning I was only able to walk for 25 minutes on the treadmill (my knee was giving me fits!), but that is better than nothing . ;)
I have a couple of questions and don't know which forums to ask in so please forgive me.
When you give you weigh, I notice 3 numbers. What order do they represent?
Also, I got the Log Cabin sugar free syrup and it list's no sugars but it does list sugar alcohol. Is this a legal item? It uses Splenda and it tastes pretty good.
Well, off to work. It's a in-service day for teachers. I'm running a little late, but oh well....:p
Have a great day everyone!!

Sorry, forgot this - can anyone do some kind of Sb nutritional analysis on Hot N Sour Soup from the Chinese restaurant? It's my standby for when I forget lunch, or am too rushed, to work....without the white rice and noodles, of course. It's got tofu, pork in it....but I know there is cornstarch and of course all those Chinese mystery foods.....anyone able to help?
Thanks!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
I hope everyone made it through the holidays without too much damage!
I'm sitting here watching the snow fall on my back patio. It has been snowing steadily since the wee hours of the morning so we have a couple of inches on the ground. This is unheard of for east central Alabama. In fact this is the first real snowfall we've had in the 8 years I've lived here. You yankee girls will laugh yourselves silly--but two inches of snow brings everything here to a grinding halt. I won't even try to drive anywhere today (though it really isn't sticking on the roads). I used to know how to drive in snow (when I lived in Iowa), but it has been so long I don't trust myself anymore--besides it's a sure bet that most of the idiots on the road today don't have a clue about driving in snow.
It is very pretty though. They are saying the Auburn area might be one of the places with the highest snow fall--with as much as six inches!:dizzy:
Frog--I hope you can get out and get on your way to Florida. I don't think this will last more than a day--so maybe by Thursday or Friday--all reports are that the roads are clear--especially the interstates. Of course there is a layer of sleet/rain/ice mix to the south of us, so I don't know about that. I understand this is all headed your way.
I had lots of fun New Years Eve. I went to a ball in Birmingham on Monday night. It was a political function--but we had a great time. I found a pretty blue evening gown on sale while I was in NC (got it for less than 1/2 price!). I found shoes to match and wore sparkly jewlry--I was pretty hot--if I say so myself;) They had a desert extravaganza--which I did not touch thank you very much. I did partake of the breakfast buffet at midnight. I took the camera and got a picture while I was all decked out. As soon as I get the role developed, I'll post it on the picture board.
Got home late yesterday afternoon and had my southern new years dinner--Pork chop, black-eyed peas and greens. The peas and greens symbolize prosperity and good luck--for the non-southerners who may be wondering about this. Fortunatly the entire dinner is low glycemic--so no problem there.
I hope 2002 is happy and prosperous for everyone. I also hope you will all become big losers in the new year!
Peace,
Susan

Happy New Year ladies!
Well, I'm back. I said that I would be after the new year and here I am. I got off on the right foot this morning. Got up earlier and did some exercises (mostly just stretching since I'm still getting over a cold.) But I figure something is better than nothing.
They are sending us home from work early becuase IT IS SNOWING. Yes, it is snowing in Atlanta. It is pretty funny that we are getting snow before my inlaws who live in New York.
I hope that you all had a great and safe holiday season. Here is to a great losing year. I hope to have good news throughout the year. Here's hoping.

Wow! Time sure does go by faster when you’re off work and having a good time!! Can’t believe the holidays are over. Now its time to get serious about the weight loss/ healthier lifestyle again. I’m still up 3 lbs from my low that I hit just before Christmas, but I’m determined to get it off real quick!
I’ve gotta tell ya’ll about our trip to Tunica, MS – I actually came home a WINNER !!!!! A big win too – I brought home $1,200 more than what I left with!! I hit a big pot on a .25 slot machine – It was a thrill!
Deb – I had one of those fires not long ago – Not a fun thing! Can’t believe YOU CHEATED!!! Hey, I am kinda glad you finally did – now I know you are human after all and I don’t have to feel so guilty about my extra curricular eating over the holidays!
BusDeb – glad to see your post – thought you had dropped off the face of the earth!
Fillise and Jmuir - Boy – I can’t believe you gals south of me are getting snow and I’m sitting here in N. AL and getting nothing!! I’m jealous. I would have loved to have an excuse to not come to work for one more day!!

Gotta run for now – Hi to everyone else!!

Its Wendsday! Boy is it chilly here. Of couse the frist day back to school is nice too. I bought my daughter a new hat and glove set to go with her coat and can't find the hat uggggggg kids! Time flew by for me today while she was in Kindergarten, but i did get to excersise and shower-alone!!! wooooo hoooo!
I also managed to step on that stupid scale to get some guide line to where this bod is! I knew it was up, but not that up! I am still having my "friend" soooooo lets blame 3lbs on that o.k? Like i said in the goal page i don't want to be on that thing every day!!!! and i am NOT. Next time is next Wends. with all of you! I won't confess the damage, but lets say that i have 20 lbs to get to my ultamate goal!!!!!!!!!!! hmmmmmm........... I can't beleive how the lbs pack on i can only imagine how much more i would have gained if i stopped excersising completely and went hog wild with the white stuff!!! Still can't stomach potatoes rice or white pasta-yeah me! white bread stinks too! Today has been a decent day still journaling and getting in the water! Yesterday was a blow out it was moms bday sooooooo ya know! Monday i did great even at the party we went to.
I have been thinking about goals and REWARDS!!! I wrote in my journal that after 30 days of excersise (not continous) and 10 lbs i am buying some cool work out clothes!! I feel so much better in that stuff!!!!! sound good? I have to focus on me again. I really have lost alot of self esteem i think thats why i gained some of this too. We really have to care about ourselves right?
ViV- hello!!!!!!!! I am with ya all the way! i could not have agreed more with your post! I guess life gets in our way sometimes! I can think of sooooo many excuses of why I am fat! anyway welcome back to you!!!!!!!!!
Deb-thank god for Moms huh? glad you had a good party.

Good Wednesday Morning All:wave:
Got in my walk a bit late today. Only walked, felt like a turtle out there vs when I do my jogging. Took me 1 hr 17 seconds to do my 4.5 miles. Came home to find we had no phones, seems the neighborhood was out, not just me-just the thing to start the day off right! Thank goodness for the cell phone!!!! But now, we're back in business!
Okay, lets get the task for getting WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY out of the way. As I suspected, I am UP, UP AND AWAY on the scale. I weighed in at a dismal, pathetic, sad (shall I go on?) 124! That's up 5.5lbs from my lowest point and up 2lbs from last WIW! I really shouldn't be all THAT worried, it's mid-cycle tomorrow and I ALWAYS have a sharp gain before the scale takes a dive downwards over the next week, but with not having journaled like I normally do in over a month, not drinking my water anywhere near how what I usually take in and then yesterday's eating frenzy, it makes me wonder if my usual trend will happen as usual, being I haven't been my usual self. Did I lose anyone there? Well, as usual, I'll be patient and see if the scale makes it southward trend down, and in the meantime, I'm back on track and vow to do better with my journaling and water intake! The party is over, the holidays are over and it's time to take care of business!!!!;)
I was typing like a mad woman yesterday and forgot some very important words I wanted to share with you all. As we begin this New Year I hope you have all read this weeks MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY as it speaks volumes. This is a NEW YEAR and a new start, or should I say a renewed start for many of you. What ever has happened in the past is just that, the past. Look forward to the future, but take each day individually and do your utmost best. Learn from whatever mistakes you've made and set backs you've had over the past year. See where you were and where you are now and look at what you did right and what you did not do right. Make THIS year the best ever!
Also, I want to THANK YOU ALL for your support and friendship this past year. This April will be 2 years that I've been on this site and I've had the wonderful fortune of "meeting" you all through this site. Each and every one of you hold an importance to me that you will never know. Without you all, I would not be where I am today. You may think that I and this board keep you going-that feeling holds truth ten-fold for me! I've been so lucky to have the chance to meet quite a few of you in person over the past year as well, and that's been a real highlight in my life. Look at the way this year is starting, with this Saturday and having the chance to meet 4 more great women who make up this wonderful board (FROG, I know you are going to get there Saturday!!!!!). I hope I have the good fortune of meeting each and every one of you sometime in the near future.
NEWBIES, you really have no idea the dynamics of the women on this board-you truly picked a wonderful support board to join in on. Stick with us and this WOE and you will achieve your goal. We are all in the same boat and are all here to help each other. I hope we inspire and motivate you just as I have been inspired and motivated by everyone on this board. As SEF mentioned in her last post, We have had our ups and downs and have helped each other celebrate the ups and overcome the downs. With the right attitude and outlook, along with the support of the women on this board, you will have a wonderful year ahead of you, as I hope we all will.
So with that, I want to thank you once again-for being there, not only for me, but for each and every gal on the board. When you post, no matter if it's one line or a hundred, your posting is part of your support for not only the board, but each and every person who is on the board and those who only read the board (those lurkers out there that like to sit at the sidelines). We all learn from each other's experiences, good or bad, we reveal in each others triumps and good news and are there for each other during hard and unhappy times. You've been there for me more than you could all know and I thank each and every one of you for being such a special part of my life!{{{{HUGS}}}
SHEANN, WELCOME TO THE BOARD!:D We're happy you have decided to come on and ask some questions about SB, and hopefully, we'll help you understand what a great WOE this is to follow, along with this great board to join! I guess I would have to say that no matter what board you go on and ask about the WOE that board is following, you will hear from those who are doing well that THEIR WOE is the BEST, because for them, they believe it is. It doesn't matter if they are taking drastic measures, starving themselves, eating excess amounts of certain foods, etc. What works for one may not work for another. What I'm trying to say is this, find a WOE that you KNOW you can do easily and that you can live with doing indefinitely. We all chose SB due to it being a very simple WOE that makes a load of sense, is healthy in percentages of fats/carbs/proteins, doesn't outlaw any certain food groups, isn't low carb, isn't high fat, isn't high protein. You have to view it as a lifestyle change, not a diet that you will go "off" of. You can live like this for the rest of your life. Many Dr,'s have recommended SB to their patients as well, since it does make so much sense and is a healthy WOE to follow. We'll be more than happy to help answer your questions, as sometimes the book is a little vague and confusing, and hopefully, we'll be able to help you decide if SB is the way you want to go. If so, we'd love to have you be a part of our wonderful SB BOARD!!!!:D
FROG, make like the postman, neither wind, rain, sleet or snow should stop you from getting out of Dodge! Girl, there's NO WAY you aren't going to make it down here. You can get past whatever snow is thrown your way! They say just south of you, the weather will be clear-so, not that I have a clue how it is to get through snow, I'm confident you won't let that stop you-WDW is waiting impatiently for your arrival, and so are we!!!!!! Speaking of weather, it's suppose to be a low around 40 here on Friday morning, that's here, further South-do you have any idea that I will be freezing my nipples off up in Orlando-I don't have a THING to wear to keep me warm! What are you running in on race day? Something that can keep you warm at the beginning, I hope, then maybe shed a layer??
ZANNE, okay kiddo, what are cheesies and what's Terry's choc. orange? Here's an alternative for the next time, choc. dipped pretzels. Just take a SB LEGAL pretzel and some SB LEGAL CHOC. and make it, that should satisfy you AND keep you on track! OR, you can do peanut brittle using agave syrup-that's a good choice, unless you are like me, and eat the whole batch when you make it!:^: Thanks for you input on the changes on the board.
SEF, hope your DD has a safe trip home. Same for DS & GD! Okay, what's LITTLE XMAS???? That's a new one I haven't heard of before! Down here in Miami, I know they have the 3 Kings Day sometime in Jan, but never heard of Little Xmas.
CAT, that's great that you are going to put a good effort in to stay well on track. I can tell you from being on SB for almost 2 years and just having my first official cheat yesterday, it's really not hard at all to stay strict and be more than happy when following this WOE. The payoff in the end is so well worth it. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who has oven mishaps!
VIV, glad to see you back! Sorry I haven't had the chance to return your e-mail, but I did read it-just been so hectic. I'm so behind in returning e-mails! I can't imagine cooking all that food and packaging it up for the month, I hate to cook, kids hate my cooking, oven hates my cooking and I tend to forget what the heck I ever put in the freezer! I give you a lot of credit if you can do it, I can't! Guess we'll both be hitting the Ebay trail. At least your junk is close at hand, most of mine is in a storage unit where I have to go get it, though, I do have enough crap in my 4th bedroom to keep me going for quite a while. Nope, still haven't made reservations, should try to do so tonight-just call me last minute Annie! Going to watch FROG run the WDW Marathon Sunday, visiting with FROG, SOL, BIGK, ZSU & GATOR on Saturday-can't wait! Nope, BLINTZ SOUFFLE wasn't SB LEGAL, but could be if you made your own blintzes and made it with agave-not a bad idea, unless you're me and can't cook!!!!
WAFRA, glad to hear you did well on DAY 1, and are down a pound-CONGRATS!! To answer you questions...
The 3 numbers are your starting weight/current weight/goal weight
I've never used SF SYRUP, but I know many do. Use ONLY a serving. For me, SPLENDA does a number on me if I have too much. It has MALTODEXTRIN in it, which is very high GI. Remember, everything in moderation-and if something "bothers" you, you can always eliminate it. I don't know what kind of info I can find on the soup, but I'll try!
FILLISE, you are watching snow, I'm watching rain and hearing thunder! I don't blame you for not going out in snow, I'd be too cold to even venture out into it, much less drive in it. Can't understand how people drive on the highways when there's snow-how the heck do you know which lane you're in????? Sounds like you had a blast at the party-can't wait to see the picture!!!!!
JMUIR, glad to see you back on the board! Snow in Hotlanta? Wow! I heard they had a few flakes in the Tallahassee area. Heck, I can just imagine how cold it's going to be this weekend in Orlando-I'm shivering already!!!!!!
TV, I'm sure those 3lbs will disappear just as quickly as they came! I guess I say that in hopes it's true for me as well, but at the 5.5lb range! CONGRATULATIONS for hitting it big at the casino-I'm thrilled for you. Oh yes, I am human for sure-can't put me up on that pedestal anymore! LOL!!
RHROO, kids are back in school already? Ours don't go back til Monday. I'm sure you'll be up to buying that new workout wear soon! 10lbs isn't all that much when you put your mind to it;)
WOW, I'm done-I actually got in my post! Okay, I'm outta here, have to run to the potty AGAIN! I had 1.5liters of water this morning and have hit the potty scene more times than I can remember! Eli and I went to SHORTY'S for lunch and I had to go twice there! Hope it shows me for a loss tomorrow!!!
I'll check in with you all later!

Hey Gang! I'm just popping in to try to keep myself honest! Be warned, lots of talk of food below, so the weak of stomach may want to skip this!
I hate hormones! I'm sure that's what it is since TOM is here. I only get sugar/salt cravings once a month. I'm usually just a salt freak. Today I got Wendy's for DS and nearly, nearly ordered something for myself too. I really wanted too, but didn't. Brought his stuff home (oh did it smell good in the car) and nuked myself some legal Beef stroganof leftovers. I will confess to grabbing about 6 of DS's fries.
For some reason I'm on an eating rampage today. I'm eating salami, cheese and triscuits. I know there's too much fat in these things--but at least they're legal. Drinking lots of water to try to fill me up. Not working! I'm just visiting the facilities more often!
I've got shredded cabbage in the fridge. I'm gonna mix that with oil and vinegar soon. Or maybe fry it up with some garlic and onions. I thought being here typing would help. Nope! I've still got munchies and my water bottle is already drained.
Well, at least I passed on the Wendy's.
Thanks for letting me vent!

I CAN'T DO WIW BECAUSE MY HUSBAND STOLE THE SCALE! He said I was so *****y when the number is up, that he won't give it back til next week. And I'm pretty sure the number's up due the 1) LOTS of brie with legal crackers and 2) way too much wine and champagne and 3) just way too much legal stuff in general. But *****y??? Not me, nope, NEVER:devil:
Got in good workouts today: bike and walk and weights, so maybe the numbers won't be so aweful when he does give it back.
WOW the board's busy today. Great to see everybody back and the newbies. Welcome aboard, this is a great place to be and a great way of life! Even if we do ***** and moan (except not me). I'm probably the main moaner!
Can't believe the weather you southern gals are having- we haven't seen a flake yet this year, very unusual and the kids are really annoyed. It's been so horribly cold tho that I figure it might as well snow too. No, what am I talking about? I'm always the one who has to shovel the stuff out of the drive. But that's great cardio and weight lifting all in one. Just not much fun.
Frog-Claw your way down to Orlando! I'm sending warm thoughts your way, tho probably a plough blade would be more useful. Is it snowing in Orlando too? I run in snow all the time, you just have to watch your footing more and lift your feet higher. I'm sure they'll have it all cleaned up by Sunday- even Mother Nature wouldn't dare mess with the efficiency of Disney World! Actually I love running in snow, but the real dry kind like when I lived in Toronto and Michigan. Slush is no fun!
Zanne-I'm with you, always want salt and choc near TOM. I keep a bar of 73% and chisel off little bits for those days, eat triscuits or olives, and drink buckets of water. Unfortunately, that's when the water doesn't leave easily. It's not that I'm so dedicated to exercising, I just can't imagine life without it. I've always been one of the "fit fat". I think I'm probably more addicted to exercise than I was to food, I just always ate the WRONG foods, and too much.
Sef- Deb beat me to the question, but I'll ask it anyway! What in the world is "Little Christmas"?
And when is it? Hope ds and dd get safely to their destinations.
Deb-2 BAGELS? I hope you enjoyed every bite! but I imagine you felt like you'd swallowed a few bricks. I haven't had a bagel in 6 months. Don't know where to get legal ones, and I know I can't handle that many carbs. I tried to make bagels once, so I guess I could try to make legal ones. But my last effort (probably 15 years ago) resulted in an abundance of hockey pucks. One of my few but true culinary failures! The oven experience sounded scary, glad mom was there. Too bad the blintz thing isn't SB legal, I was starting to salivate. The filling wouldn't be hard with agave, but I don't know about using SGWW for the wrappers.
Viv- The Chinese food may be low glycemic, but I know that everytime I've tried it I've gained 2-3 pounds the next day, had headaches and cravings. The stuff is just so full of hidden cornstarch and sugars, even if you try to stay away from the obvious no-nos, it's still there. Hope your kitchen is beautiful, we did ours a year ago last fall, and it was more stressful than moving!! We gutted it, moved a few walls, new floors, the whole deal. It's so beautiful, but I got used to not cooking for 2 1/2 months and really don't want to much anymore:?: I'd rather just admire the kitchen than use it.
TV- way to go at the casino! I've never gambled a cent in my life. Nothing against it, I'm just too much of a Scrooge to give up a sure thing like the quarter in my hand on remote chances. Oviously I'll never win the lottery! The closest I come is faithfully giving up 34 cent stamps to publishers clearinghouse:D
Fillise- You and the dress sound stunning. Glad you had a good holiday and please post a picture!
Enjoy the snow.
Hello Cat, Busdeb, Teach, jmuir, jred and everybody else. I'm running out of time, and boy this is getting long....the troops want dinner tonite.

HiHo all!!
Good to see the Board picking up speed again, after the way some of us (me, big time!) strayed off the OP path, we are all anxious to get baqck to normal!!
CAT - You are right, we have NEW RESOLVE! I like the thought, think I will keep it a while!
SHEANN - Welcome. I always tell newcomers they have come to the right place. You'll see and feel a change in no time, just takes resolve.
VIV - Know what you mean about avoiding scale. I was always stressed out about that darn thing! Finally decided would weigh at doctor's and that would be it!
My friend and I once did a big cooking thing like you described. I loved it, my friend hated it, she felt it was too much work all at once. I felt the end result was worth it!
I love Chinese food and appreciated the list you posted. I think I would doubt Lo-mein as it is made with noodles and not WW ones. I supposed we would have to ask for the dishes with out the liquid thickened, as you say there is the cornstarch. Some restaurants have a Mongolian bar where you can pick out the veggies, meats and then they saute them for you, you can pick the sauce too.
DEB - Good old baking soda, has so many uses. Never grab flour for a fire, it is flammable!! Seems like we are all glad to hear that you can be human when it comes to the cheating. But actually since you have met goal and then some, it is not as critical for you and you can have a "cheat" now and then and still maintain. I don't feel at this point that you really cheated.
WA - Welcome. Please read above note to Sheann. Always glad to welcome newcomers.
FILLISE - Such a fuss on the news about a little ice/snow here. They just don't know how to handle it here.
For New Year's dinner I was told about the peas and cabbage. In the Poconos it's pork and sauerkraut. But in Rome.......so we had the peas.
JMUIR - Snow in Atlanta! hope it is gone by tomorrow. My dd wanted to go home by way of GA so she could stop at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta. She and her aunt collect their pins. I told her lousy roads weren't worth it!
TV - Congrats on your win. I know how I felt winning on the nickel machine! My winnings went toward car tune-up. Easy come, easy go!!
I spent afternoon paying bills, not my favortie task, but at least I paid them.
Well, may check in again later, I'll see how things go. Need to get caught up on letter writing.
Take care, sef.

Hi everybody. Well, it's back to school for me tomorrow. Not really looking forward to it since it's supposed to be 16 chilly degrees in the morning.:( Too cold for me. I did OK again today. I did cave in and have a hamburger with the family today. :oAvoided the fries though, so maybe not too much damage done. I'm up 3 pounds from my lowest, but with all I ate over the holidays, I guess I'm not too disappointed.
Spent the afternoon with my best friend today. We don't get to do that much anymore. Had a good visit. She needed some big shoulders though. Her 17 yr old daughter was assaulted by her boyfriend and is pregnant. She won't stay at home by herself or sleep in her room, she's so traumatized by the situation. Makes my problems seem pretty small.
Hope all of you in the snow stay warm. All you teachers out there...back to work!
Gotta get the kids to bed soon. It will be hard to drag them out of bed in the morning.

Hi everyone
First of all I would like to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR and hope you all enjoyed the holiday season.
My New Year was uneventful as it was a working one. To-day I've been busy taking down the tree and cleaning up and doing laundry. I was off line for a few days as my computer had a virus and I was afraid to use it in case it screwed things up. I had to wait for my ds to come home to check it out for me. Luckily I was able to lurk and read some of the posts while I was at work.
The last couple of days I did manage some exercises. I've started going through my exercise videos again. To-day I went out for a walk. It was quite cold, about 34 F, but it was bright and sunny and I just needed to get out in the fresh air (boy it was fresh). Had cold ears by the time I got home. Just did about a mile, to the store and back. I've been back to eating most meals op but lose my willpower when I get to work and see all the goodies still stacked up on the desk. I'm off for a couple of days now so hope to get back on that wagon. To-day's been good so far. Hope I don't get the munchies before bedtime. I made spareribs with barbecue sauce to-day using Agave nectar in place of the honey in the recipe. Just as I have gotten used to using Agave now it's going off the market. Darn it. I made the Chicken Barley Casserole from the SB for Kids book yesterday and it was yummy.
Deb - I like the idea of the new board for our monthly GOALS. Hope you enjoyed those bagels. You deserved them!! I had some Montignac sour-dough bread for breakfast this morning that my ds had brought back from Montreal. It was made with just 20% white flour, the rest probably whole grain by the looks of it. Tasted good toasted with fruit spread.
Fly - Welcome back. It's good to see you posting again.
Zanne - Have you tried Wendy's Chili? I go there occasionally and have a small chili with a salad and throw out the nachos. The small chili has 21 gms of carbs, five of which are sugar, although I don't know if this is added sugar or just the natural sugar in the tomatos. At least it is a better choice than the alternatives IMHO.
Frog - Sorry to hear about your IL dog. I wish you luck with the race on the weekend. I know you will make it there. I hope you don't get too much snow down there.
Nancy - It's good to hear from you again and to know that the new job is going well.
I almost forgot it's WIW. I was 197 this morning which is 2 lbs more than my lowest. For the last few months I have been fluctuating between 195-197. I was up a little higher yesterday but it was back down this morning. I'm surprised I haven't gained any this holiday with all the junk that I've eaten but I'm determined to get back on track.
A big welcome to all the newbies. You have come to the right place for friendship and support.
Hi to everyone I have missed. I am just too far behind to catch up with everybody.
Marie.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
So glad to see everyones post sure makes me happy to see everyone back on track. It was kinda hard for me thru the holidays but I didn't overdo it. Only cheated with that one little bitty piece of divinity, it called my name so loud I thought everyone else heard it calling to. Well I have a gripe....I told you all last week that I had gained 2 lbs and didn't know why?..Well I found out why I did that...My little girl has been fooling with the scales and she put the scale 3 lbs below 0!!!!! That little heifer almost caused me a heart attack!:D So I haven't gained a oz at all thank goodness. Thats what I get for not looking before I weighed myself.
Glad to see all the newbies and Welcome to the board this is a great WOE!!!
Well gonna get off of here got to check on the little heifer shes supposed to be in bed but I think I hear her up.
Nite everyone!

Evening All:wave:
Thought I'd get in a quickie before I hit the hay. Actually, I thought I'd be asleep by now, but Eli needed me to type something up for him that his boss requested so his boss could nominate him for Manager of the Quarter, so up I stayed!
Happy to report I got in 1.5 liters plus another 2 glasses of water today:D
ZANNE, I have to agree with SEF, you could get the chili at Wendy's, it's not totally SB LEGAL, but if you HAVE to have something and a salad doesn't cut it, that's a better alternative to other fast food out there. I too go on feeding frenzies a couple times a month and it's all due to those lovely hormones we possess. Nothing satisfies me and I eat like a pig, but keep it all SB LEGAL. The scales go up, I ***** and then they go down again, which is what I'm looking to happen sometime in the next week-hopefully! Cabbage, garlic and onions, I can smell you all the way down here!!!!! LOL!!
MEL, LOL! I'll be *****ing too when I have one of the kids hide the scale on me after next WIW! I'm going to have bigger withdrawls than I probably did with chocolate/sugar! Did you see the BLINTZ LOAF recipe I posted back in November. I forgot about it but saw it tonight-I may try that one, if I do, I'll let you know how it is. Never made bagels, but have posted recipes for them. I think ROSALIE made them, if I remember correctly, if not, I know someone on the board had.
SEF, you are just so sweet! Giving me the license to cheat-ARE YOU CRAZY!!!! No, No, No:nono: I know that once I cheat, it's hard for me to stop. Like yesterday, I couldn't stop at a half of a bagel, ate a whole one, then, another bagel was calling my name-2 bagels for me, I swear, my family was staring at me, as I normally wouldn't even of eaten even a whole bagel. That's in addition to the blintz souffle, some taco salad Mom made (the first thing I wolfed down), some hummus, olives and a few other SB LEGAL tidbits I cannot remember at this time. Today I wanted one of those disgusting bagels so bad, but didn't take one-I have no self control when it comes to eating something I normally wouldn't. Even though I made goal, I have to stay in line or I'll be seeing that scale rise up, up and away-I learned from past experiences:^:
MUSIC, hope you have a good day back at school. Sorry to hear about your friends daughter, a bad situation only to be made worse. I hope things work out for her daughter, and I'm sure she appreciates having you listen to her during this tough time.
ROSALIE, glad to see you back up and running on the computer :) I posted a recipe for BBQ SAUCE for tomorrows recipe day. Would love to see your recipe as well! I love ribs-haven't had them in soooo long! I didn't know Montignac had his own brand of SD bread! Next time I'm in Montreal, will have to search for it at the store-among my search for chocolate!!!;)
THUNDER, well, now don't you feel good now that you found someone with little hands had been playing with the scale! Congrats for not having gained, you did good! You are definitely not like me when you weigh in. I make sure that needle is smack dab on 0 and I get on and off that scale abour 3 times, if not more!!!!!
Got and e-mail for FRUIT, here's her message:
Hey Debbie!
Just wanted to write and say hello! Sorry I haven't been on the board,
but something is VERY wrong with my computer - I'm lucky I can send
e-mail!! I'm so aggrivated! I'm still about the same weight as when I
left 266 or so - cause I've been doing the Christmas eating - NO NO
NO!! But, everything will be back on tomorrow!! Well, tell everyone
hello and that I miss them! Hopefully, I'll be able to get back on the
board soon! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Love ya!
Missy
Please remember, TOMORROW IS RECIPE DAY!!!! If you have any SB LEGAL RECIPES you'd like to share with the board, please, try to post them tomorrow on the NEW QUARTERLY RECIPE BOARD. I've already got 2 recipes posted and will try to find the other 2 I wanted to post-they are lost in my files, somewhere!
Gotta hit the hay. Nite all!

Hi All!
Can't sleep. Wanna sleep. Need sleep. Can't sleep. So of course I'm fooling about on the computer.
Well, I blew it again!:( I tried all the legal stuff and curbed the salt cravings but the chocolate fudge cookies jumped into my mouth! I swear the 6 of them (YES, 6:o ) just lept out of the box and down my throat. Didn't have legal chocolate in the house. Well at least the good thing is, I think I'm over the "feeding frenzie". Now that I realize what exactly I'm like each month (well, I knew what I was like, just didn't acknowledge it), I can prepare and get in legal "cheats" ahead of time.
Debelli & Rosalie Thanks for letting me know about the chili. I just really thought I wanted a burger. I was thinking about getting the taco salad and tossing the corn chips, but decided it was better to get nothing for myself. It was more of a treat for DS since he had been an angel. But I will keep the chili in mind.
Meliris & Debelli I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with cravings and pig outs. I mean, I figured I wasn't the only one, but at the time it happens you kind of think it's just you that has the problem. Knowing that the same thing happens to others makes me feel "normal". DEB I'm not a big fan of pretzels--how about legal chocolate dipped triscuits?
Well, I'm gonna go play cards with the computer. That usually makes me sleepy.
Nite nite.

Deb - I've never made bagels although I do make my own bread sometimes. It must be someone else you are thinking off. I've posted the recipe for the barbecue sauce I make. Yours sounds yummy. I'll try that next time. The Montignac bread my ds brought home from Montreal was bought in the Bagel Shop there. They apparently make it themselves and I assume that they are licensed to use Montignac's name. I'll see if my ds knows the exact name of the store so you'll be prepared when you visit.
Zanne - Enjoy your card games. I know it's the pits when you want to sleep and can't sleep. I'm probably going to be up for quite a while yet as I slept in late this morning as I worked late shift yesterday. I'm feeling more awake now than I was at 10 o'clock this morning . I'll probably have a game of Scrabble against the computer before hitting the sack.

Well, here is the latest on the snow and the travel plans.
Looks as though we got about 5 inches here in this part of the state. We are headed east today to the IL's where they got several inches more. We certainly didn't go to work today and are planning to attempt to "shoot the gap" with the roads during the mid afternoon to deliver the pup. Tomorrow we will again attempt to head south. Ideally I would like to go as far south tonight as we can before the roads ice over, but I don't think that will happen. Thankfully we have one vehicle with 4WD to see should have more luck than in the VW.
Ran out last evening to run errands before the snow started. When I went in a store and came out about 30 minutes later the car was covered! It is exciting and I wish we could stay here and enjoy it, seems as though it snows when we're away from home or on our way somewhere, but the Florida Girls and WDW await so I gotta get going! ;)
WIW was a success (down about 1/2 pound, new #'s below), especially considering that I ate away my sorrows over the whole New Year's Eve thing with my 2 friends Ben & Jerry, chicken pizza, cheese dip and peanut M&M's! The  made me do it. I will stay OP as much as possible while at WDW, but afterall it is my vacation and I will have run a marathon, so I plan to have some calculated cheats. I think if I plan them out ahead of time, I will be better than if I just throw caution to the wind.
Almost forgot to tell you that we FINALLY named the CAT! Her name is Marabou Cahill (sounds like Kay-Hill), Mary-Ca ("Mary-Kay") for short. We named her after 2 fly fishing dry flies, and it fits her, she is soft like a Marabou and the color of the Cahill. Miss Kitty Cahill is one of the many things we call her! =^..^=
DEB - As far as I know we will be there on Sat as planned! If push comes to shove, we will just be there later on Sat than originally planned. Have your cell # and will use it if need be.
Well, I need to go finish packing for our BIG TRIP! :D
Have a great weekend. I won't have computer access while away but I feel certain that the FLA girls will update you!
Promise to post as soon as I can after I get back home again.
Wish me luck on Sunday!
Peace,

Morning Ladies!
Hope all you Southern Belles are enjoying the white stuff! It is pretty….but after a while, I just tend to ignore the weather until the daffodils start poking out of the garden. I go on autopilot for the winter – it’s not really cold!!! Ha! Drive carefully and enjoy it while you can!
Had a good OP day yesterday, if not a bit high in fat due to cheese. Made a Cobb Salad for dinner last nite while the kids had pizza (homemade by DS). Did I tell you, 11 yo DS is dying for yet another guitar, so we told him he had to earn the $$. He cranked up the homemade chocolate machine and sold $400 worth! Net profits just a bit over $200. What a salesman! Still a couple hundred to go, he’ll have to get the thinking cap on, because I am DONE with having my gorgeous new kitchen smeared with chocolate, LOL!
Anyone have a Montana Mills bakery near them? New chain out of NY, they bake tons of loaves of fresh bread, all different flavors. You go in there, and they give you free a huge slab of bread with butter. Yum. I will need to review their ingredients to see if there is an SB legal loaf – it’s a great treat when I’m nearby. All natural, blah blah blah.
Also got in a mile on the treadmill yesterday and some weights. I’m going to try to do 3 days during the week so I have weekends off –I it’s just been too hectic with traveling all over the state for hockey, etc. I’d nap than tread on the weekends anyway!
TV - $1200 on the slots – that is awesome! Sometimes we go to Foxwoods and I playthe slots – my limit is $10 – most I’ve won is $25! That is soooo great!
Rhroo – Gap Body has some really nice “reward clothes”! I was tempted in there myself this weekend, but I thought I ‘ve gotta get this new/old weight off – then I’ll get myself something there too!
DEB – so you’re not going to visit the Mouse? No time for that, it seems! I cannot imagine being in Orlando and not paying homage to my favorite theme parks. It hasn’t even been a year since we were there last and I am having serious WDW cravings. Where did you wind up getting ressies – the rates must be incredible now!
Zanne – I too cannot resist fries when I get the kids McDonalds. I grab a few of theirs – at least I don’t get a burger and shake with it too! Last weekend (pre-back OP) we grabbed Burger King, which we don’t have near our house. Gosh, was that Whopper Junior with cheese and extra onions good! Memories……
MEL – LOL re: DH stealing the scale! I have asked my DH in the past to hide it from me – last time he did, when I asked him to get it out,, he couldn’t remember where it was, so we had to buy a new one. Men. And LOL re admiring the kitchen – I bought new Calphalon cookware so I have to cook – I cannot believe the difference between that and the old Farberware! I’m trying to get some friends interested in the 30 day thing – so far two have turned it down due to small freezers (oh, ha!) – waiting on #3!
Sef – I wonder, tho, what lo mein noodles are made from? Are buckwheat noodles legal….at Wild Oats the Japanese soups have a buckwheat option. Hmmm….although I probably wouldn’t choose lomein due to all that grease anyway. I did have hot n sour soup yesterday,no noodles. I know there’s cornstarch in it but I had asked DEB a while back and she said a little cornstarch wasn’t that harmful. I need that soup as a standby! Steamed Chinese is just so boring!
Music – Hi! I’m wondering if I could pick your musical brain about something having to do with my DS’s music instruction. Please email me when you get a moment at velba@mobileis.com cc vkelba@hotmail.com and let me know if that’s okay with you. He’s in 6th grade, and we are in a bit of a pickle about it.
Well, back to work. Shorter day today. Thinking of planning a trip to NYC during Feb vaco to see a show, etc. DH has been to Ground Zero twice for work already….now they’ve got viewing platforms set up. Can’t decide if I want to see it – just seeing the skyline without the WTC is traumatic enough. Having grown up in NYC, everytime I see the WTC now I just want to cry…..
Have a GREAT OP Day!

Good Thursday Morning All:wave:
Got in my walk/jog today, did my 4.5 miles in 48:40, no great times, should be glad I got out there, wasn't quite in the mood. Started to sprinkle about a half-mile away from home on my way back. Suppose to get a really cold cold front with the low being around 40 degrees tonight/tomorrow morning-okay you snow birds, stop laughing, it's cold for down here! I'm wondering if I'll be brave enough and jog tomorrow morning in this perdicted cold, may have to wait til it warms up into the 50's!
I can only imagine how cold it's going to be up in Orlando this weekend. I took a look at the weather site and it didn't look too bad as far as temps go- Sat Partly Cloudy 65°F-48°F, Sun Scattered T-Storms 69°F-50°F , hoping those scattered T-storms don't materialize, would be terrible for those in the race, not to mention the kids at the park will get rained out-guess I better have them take some emergency ponchos with them.
Scale is down 1lb today, hope this is the usual downward trend for me, I have to have that wait and see attitude. Still up 4.5lbs though:eek:
YIPEEE! Of course, I don't say this to tease those of you who aren't meeting us this weekend, but I got our T-shirts from Fred just now from FED-EX! See the benefits from coming to a get-together, there's always something good in addition to the company (and food)! FRED, the owner of WWW.CAUTIONYIELD.COM provided us with his wonderful T-shirts. He's going to have a booth in the EXPO at WDW thanks to FROG telling me, and I in return telling him, so we not only get to meet him, but thank him for sending the shirts. You should check out his page, the shirts are really great, and a great quality as well!!! Last time we met at GATORS house, CHRIS at WALKERSWAREHOUSE.COM sent a couple POWERBELTS for GATOR and BOB, gratis. Who knows what will it will be next time!!!
Have not much planned today, but lots to do tomorrow before we head out Saturday morning. Hoping to get a 5am start. Have to drop the kids off before heading to SOL & VINCES house for the day:)
ZANNE, I hope you finally got some sleep! I know how terrible it is when you need and want to sleep, but can't. Next day, you feel like a zombie! Triscuits and chocolate, hmmm, well, whatever floats your boat;) Really, when you get those terrible cravings, try to increase your protein intake, it should help.
ROSALIE, thanks for posting the sauce recipe, seems easy. You DO use SF catsup, right???:s: Interesting about the bread shop with MM bread bearing his name. Hmm, wonder who it was who made the bagels then. Surely, it wasn't I! Hockey pucks from MEL, you'd have concrete blocks if I tried!!! I am going to attempt to make a CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE, may kick myself afterwards, as you KNOW how I tend to eat too much of a good thing! Maybe I should rethink this idea!
FROG, don't know if you will see this or not, so have a safe trip and we'll see you on Saturday, hopefully sooner than later! You have the phone numbers, so just let us know where you are!!!! See you soon!!!!!
NANCE, oh my goodness, DOWN 4.5LBS!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!! CONGRATS!!!!! That's wonderful news!! Wish I was there to give you a big hug!!!!! {{{HUGS}}} Glad to hear you like the steamer, love mine-so easy! How's Dan doing in the coffee making dept? Hope all Eli taught him he's retained and is sharpening his skills daily;) I'm sure DAN will be laughing at my cooking skills story!!!! Keep up the great work-you're going to do it this time!!!!!!!!!!!! LIZERY hasn't been on it a while, but I think she's still with us.
RHROO, good going on getting out in that cold weather and walking today. If you can go out in 25 degrees, I can go out in 40, so you've inspired me to go and get out tomorrow morning, no matter how cold it may be!!! Hmmm, I may be *****in at you later though! LOL!! Oh yes my dear, I can spell poor, it's DEBBIE!!!! LOL!!
VIV, oye, the Jewish Entrepreneur you have living with you. The next WILLY WONKA! That's great he's earned his own money, he's definitely got the bug now! Oh my gosh, I LOVE MONTANA MILLS! We don't have any down here, unfortunately, but in Rochester, NY they have them, and the bread (and not to mention, the cookies) are to die for! What a concept! Wish I could open one of those down here! Nope, no mouse visits, spending quality time with the SB GALS! Ummm, no ressies yet, can we say PROCRASTINATOR!!!! Trying to get some today though!
NEWBIES, I guess I should try to explain about how I talk about meeting gals from the board. I've been lucky to meet people from our board, BOB, GATOR, VIV, AMSER (she'll be back soon she says), QUILTER (hoping she'll be back one day soon), NANCE & LDBLOND. This weekend, we are having a SB GET TOGETHER to root on FROG who is running the WDW MARATHON, so I get to meet not only FROG, but SOLSHINE, ZSU and BIGK as well, GATOR is going to be there as well. BOB SHOULD BE THERE, but will just be getting back to town. There are other gals on the board in other parts of the country who have also had the good fortune to meet up, like FROG & FILLISE among others. If you live anywhere near another board member, you really should try to meet up one day-it's always so nice to meet those we keep in contact on the board with so often face-to-face. Wish the other Florida gals could come this time, buy maybe next one-as there will definitely be a next time!!!
Okay, time for me to go do something constructive. I'll check in with you all later.
Have a great day!

It is STILL snowing here!
A normal snow in Alabama (OK--snow is not normal in Alabama, but on the rare occasions when it does snow this is usually what happens) is a few hours of flurrying, a little bit on the ground and melted by the afternoon. It snowed all day yesterday here--all night and there are still some flakes falling this morning. I'm guessing we have about 4 inches on the ground--a blizzard for us! It's the real pretty snow too--the big fluffy flakes--good snowman snow. My computer looks out over my back terrace and it is gorgeous out there.
Everything is closed here so nothing to do but putter around the hous.Miss Belle is curled up in my lap purring. Can't think of a better way to spend a winter's morning!
Frog--I hope you make it. Please be careful! If you are headed down I-95 you'll probably be ok once you get through SC. Some of the roads here froze up last night, but most of the interstates seem passable. I'll be rooting for you this weekend!
Frog's cheering section---We shall all be waiting to here word of the great race. I think I speak for everyone else on the board when I say we shall demand pictures! Everyone travel safely and have a great time!
Newcomers--Welcome to the board! This is a great and supportive place to learn about the SB way fo eating. I've beendoing SB since July 2000 and have lost some 60 lbs. I still have a ways to go, but this is something I can live with for the long term! Please feel free to ask any questions.
BOB, Gator,Missy--and all the others who had winning bowl teams--WoooHooo! Congrats. Heads are rolling at Auburn this morning--offensive and defensive coordinators are gone after humiliating showing Monday night. And against those evil evil tarheels too--couldn't have been worse.
While I was in NC over the holidays I picked up William Dufty's Sugar Blues. It is very interesting reading. He may be a bit prone to hyperbole as he traces ALL of the world's troubles to sugar, but it really reinforces what we all learned in SB about how bad sugar is for our bodies. Of course the SB authors relied heavily on this book. I also got the Glucose Revolution pocket guide to losing weight. There are some differences with SB--but I like the extensive Glycemic index listings.
I'd like to do to the gym today, but it is closed. Everything is closed. Hmmmm cabin fever seems to be setting in!
Peace,
Susan

Good morning all! And Happy New Year too! :)
We were just ahead of the storm as we drove up I-95, so we made it back last night. The Hokies did not win the Gator Bowl, but we still had a fantastic time. And of course, I am now suffering from the guilt of all I ate and drank on the trip.
So, Tuesday night, I read the entire SB book, and Wednesday, I officially started with SB. I had some minor victories yesterday--I did not have a Coke in the car, did not have any cookies or candy at all, and did not eat after 7:15pm. And let me tell you, that is really hard on a 14 hour car trip!
So, minor victories, with more to come, I hope.
I am going to the grocery store today to do my SB shopping. I am hoping I will find some things to keep me motivated until the pounds start coming off. That will keep me motivated when that starts happening.
Are there any of those snack/protein bars that any of you recommend. Meals seem easy on this plan, but snacks seem like they will be a challenge. Any suggestions?
Hope everyone is doing well and staying warm. It is cold here in VA. Have fun in WDW. Good luck in the marathon!

Millie-here are a few snackie things i should be eating! LOL ....triscuts, peanuts, sugar free puddin-which can be a trigger for some people me included! i have it at night so i can go to bed after! I also buy low fat cheese like Vermont cheddar for the triscuts. I know you will find yourself not wanting to snack i forgot to even eat at sometimes thats how good Sugarbusters works! I don't think there is a protien type bar without sugar I don't like them to much myself. I TRY to eat 2 fruits a day also grapefruit in the a.m and another for a snack. The whole thing is planning!!! Good job on the minor victory! Every victory is worth it!!!!!!!! Keep it up girl you can do it!

Good Afternoon All! We have 6 inches of snow here in Newnan. It was so beautiful early this AM! DH and I went out the subdivision and thru the woods on the 4 wheeler! Got some great snow pics! It's begining to melt; but the temp is dropping so it may turn to ice!
Deb - got the samples thanks! I have not had a chance to try them yet. Although you had a minor cheat don't beat yourself up. Look how far you have come and take a look in the mirror of your success! You have done great on SB! As for me, well let's just say..... It's a new year! I did accomplish some loss for last year 10 pounds so as of 1/1/02 I was lighter than the year before so that's a accomplishment! This year we plan on doing much better!
Hope everyone is doing well! Stay warm!

It was 14 degrees at 5:00 this morning when we got up to take DS to the airport. I tracked his flight back to Baltimore and they scooted up thru TN and KY more north than northeast so they missed the snow. He hasn't called yet to let me know if his sponsors picked him up. He didn't bring home his overcoat because of the unusually warm weather when he came home. What a difference in 2 weeks!
I'm glad all you Southern gals like the snow we sent your way. We just weren't in the mood for it here in NTX! :D We did have flurries finally yesterday. It was neat seeing the tiny flakes falling while I took down my Christmas lights. After the deep freeze tonight we're headed back up the temperature scale just in time for rain over the weekend. We're still out of school. We have 3 days of work next week before kids return. Then they have a week and 2 days before Martin Luther King Day. I wish there was some way to space our holidays out better. We have nothing between Easter (March 31) and Memorial Day (May 27) this year. And if we have any snow days, we won't even get Easter. It's going to be a loonnng spring in the schoolhouse!
Rosalie: How do you make SB legal bread with your machine? I bought one just before I finally decided to do this WOE and haven't used it yet because of the sugar requirements in the recipes.
Deb: I really enjoyed my date with DH. Loved Lord of the Rings, but even my big booty was numb by the end. Three hours is a long movie, even with all that action. I'm glad your oven fire was contained. That was scary, I bet. I've had small stove fires but nothing I couldn't handle quickly. Have a great time with the SB gals. Wish I could be there to share the fun! The protein is a good idea for the cravings. I bought some of those little 2.5 oz packages of meats and will pull one of those out mid afternoon. I've also started eating eggs at breakfast and it is amazing how much that curbs my appetite.
Cat: My camera in an Olympus C700. I did some research and wanted one with a good zoom (this one's a 10x optical, 27x digital) and that could take movies. I'm still learning how to use it. Haven't had the opportunity to take a movie yet.
I put the picture of my DS and me from the holiday ball at the bottom of my new bio. The picture link takes you to pictures of me at several different stages of my adult, married life. Come to think of it, I've been married my whole "adult" life. Got married at 21 and have been married for 23 years!
I have run out of time for posting. Hey to everyone, be careful all you snow bunnies. Stay warm everybody else!
Take care,
Jeanie

Well, I haven't been grocery shopping yet, but have finished the book. I am trying to stay as close to the program as possible until I get to shop. I am watching to grandchildren until about 9pm, so I'll have to go late or early in the morning.
This morning I had two scrambled eggs with a small amout of low fat cheese and some salsa. I have been drinking water this morning but not as much as I would like to. I haven't eaten anything else yet. Haven't been hungry, but I'll have to go and see what I have that would be legal to eat.
All of you on this board sound so supportive. This is exactly what I need.
Thanks

I hope all you Southern gals are enjoying the snow. It can be fun as long as you don't have to drive in it. We've been lucky so far this season had very little of it but I'm sure we will get it soon.
Had a good day so far 100% op. I'm going out this afternoon with a gf to a movie and to dinner. Plan on staying op. Did 4 miles on the stationary bike this a.m. That's the third time this week. As long as I have a good book to read I am quite happy pedalling.
J red - I don't have a bread machine. I make it the old fashioned way but I do have an easy recipe which I adapted from a recipe I found on one of the flour company websites. It uses SGWW flour and oatmeal and I use agave nectar in place of the molasses called for in the original recipe. I usually use the instant yeast which can be mixed right in with the flour but if I use the regular yeast I would dissolve it in just 1 tspn of sugar.
Deb - Yes, the ketchup in my recipe should be sf or you could substitue sf tomato sauce. I will edit the recipe later.
Sheann - Sounds like you have made a good start to SB but please remember that it is important not to miss meals. Some of us like to have three meals a day others will have 5 or 6 mini meals. You have to find what works for you but if you miss meals you will find that that is the time when you want to eat all the wrong stuff. I know that's how it would be for me.
Have to run.
Will check in later.
Marie.

well, he returned the scale and I'm up 2 lbs from my low- not too bad, but not great. Especially since I've stayed OP. Must be the muscle building! Except my new pants are slightly tighter too around the middle:(
Got in 35 minutes of intervals on the bike, 200 abs, then a 3 mile (COLD) walk with pooch. I'm really tired, maybe OVER EXERCISIZING? or maybejust need to sleep more! Being snowed in sounds nice right about now.
The board is so busy I can't reply to all- am on 5th load of laundry to get dd ready to go back to Ohio tomorrow am. Hope she doesn't hit snow, I don't mind driving in it, but don't like the idea of her doing it.
Wish I could be at the get together this weekend, even in cold Orlando:lol: Cheer extra load for FROG for me and for heaven's sake DEB, buy a jacket and don't freeze your nipples off! Sounds just too painful:o
Viv: LOL, I bought new calphalon pans too! Hung them from a lovely wrought iron pot rack, so I can admire them, and dust them once a week! Actually, I do cook, just not as elaborately as the kitchen would indicate.

HiHo all!!!
People here are freezing, complaining of cold. They have no blood in there veins, it's only low 30s!!! Guess my blood hasn't thinned out yet!!
Did my usual stint at NH, then had to find out where a church is that I will be visiting tomorrow night for a concert, then to Winn Dixie, Walgreen's, put groceries away, threw in wash, then here to relax! Keeps me out of trouble to be on the go!
MUSIC - Sorry to read about your friends dtr. Glad you had a shoulder for her to cry on, that's one of the things friends are for!
ROSALIE - Tree! YOu mean I have to take it down!?! That's my project for tomorrow!! I tried the SB Sourdough Bread, one word........horrible!!! I do like their multi-grain though, also WW Pistolettes.
THUNDER - So good not to cheat. I am learning what cheating does to you.....makes it very hard to get back on track! Did I say gingerbread cookie????
At least dd turned scales in such a way that when fixed you had really lost, think if it had been the other way round. You'd have been excited over a false loss!!!!
DEB - Eli, Mgr of 1/4, hope he gets it! For that you should stay uip and type!!
I wasn't the one about Wendy's chili but I was the one that made the bagels, which were good.
ZANNE - You and I both have animated cookies that dance about and land in one's mouth!!!! Isn't that a coinceidence!?!? Of course mine were little gingerbread men and are supposed to be able to run!!!!
FROG - Good you have 4WD for snow, but IMHO nothing works on ice! Have a safe trip and a good run.
NANCE - Glad to see you back. Great loss!!! Did you hear the cheering?
RHROO - I am well acquainted with POOR, a program that provides no money for the needy!!!! Love that SF choc pudding. Satisifes the sweet tooth.
VIV - Don't know what Lomein noodles are made of, just assumed (you know about assuming!) they were made like spaghetti. Have heard of buckwheat flour and pancakes but am not really familiar with its attributes.
FILLISE - A snowflake or two and everything stops!!! The world closes! What would the south do if it got hit like the Buffalo area? Sorry, guess it's just my northern blood wanting to tease!!!
Griz - Welcome. Great not eating on trip. I too like the SF choc pudding, Triscuits, PB, also here can get WW Sesame Breadsticks by Grissini. 2 sticks are a serving of 50 cals. and less than 1g sugar. Dip it in natural PB and it's a good snack. Nuts, fruit and LF cheese and other proteins are too.
BOB - Snowbound?!? Wasn't that an old movie? Be careful driving. Have been worrying about my dd, she was taking southern route home against Mom's advice. Do I say "I told you so!"? I think not!
NASCAR - Walks in the snow are great! The first snowfall of the season, no matter what time it came, I would get kids up and we would go for a walk. There's something peaceful about a snowy walk at 2 or 3 a.m.! There is no noise except the crunch of your feet, the air is crisp and clean. Then hot cocoa tastes all the better for the walk before you hop back into a warm bed. The kids loved it, of course one 2 a.m. trek caused a neighbor to look out to see why her dog was barking, she saw me and said "Oh, it's just crazy Shirley and her kids!"
SHEANN - I know we think if we don't eat we will lose. Believe me it doesn't work that way. My best losses are when I really stick to the regimented meals and snacks. Snacks truly do help, dietician told me 6 small meals are better than 3 regular and I have found it to be true!
Better check on washer, Take care all. sef

Just a quick check in; the board is so busy today, don't know when/if I'll get back to all of you.
Now all of you out in the snow, please be careful. FROG I really hope you make it for your race. I hope all the roads you need to take are cleared. I'm thinking of you. Everyone else who's got snow and doesn't have to be out--I'm jealous. We have virtually NOTHING. I love winter and I love snow (just hate the cold winds). I don't even mind shovelling our driveway and it's big enough for 4 cars!
Just wanted to say A BIG THANK YOU to all of you for your support and encouragement these past couple of days. I think the eating frenzie has subsided and now that I've got legal chocolate in the house, I don't want any. I even went grocery shopping today while I was hungry and didn't get anything illegal!:D Thanks EVERYONE for keeping me going. Each of you is an
I really need some sleep. The old bod has found it difficult to get back into the routine of going to bed at 10 and getting up at 5:45. DH gave me a wonderful complment: told me I looked old with the black bags under my eyes! No kidding. I have a prescription from the doc, but I'm afraid to use it in case I don't hear DS wake up in the middle of the night. He's had a stomach bug and has had accidents where mommy has to help him with clean underpants. DH doesn't hear anything when he's asleep.
If I exercise tonight, I can still make my goal of exercise 3 times a week. Maybe that will help me sleep. I always slept good when I exercised at night.
Again, thanks to you all for being here. It's great we can "talk" and share stories, give suggestions, share wisdom and just "listen" to each other. I am so glad to have found all of you (via Debbie's invite!)
Time to get to the elliptical machine!

The skies have finally cleared and the snow is beginning to melt. It is going to get very cold tonight so the roads will freeze over again tonight. Fortunately I don't have to be anywhere in the morning. I can wait for the sun to warm the roads before I have to go out!
Deb--Your fire sounds awful. At least your mom was there to put it out! Get those reservations made--stop procrastinating!;)
BOB--I didn't know about the avocadoes, but I'll try it. Sounds yummy. I'm having the steak tonight. Yum Yum! I appreciate the yelling. I yelled too--but it was colorful yelling if you know what I mean:o .Dig yourself out and get on home!
Zanne--I know what you mean about the eating frenzies. I seem to be back on track now. I too have SB legal chocolate in the house and I NEVER touch it! It is nice to have in case of an emergancy though.
SEF--If we got hit like the Buffalo area it would all be over. They'd come dig our poor frozen bodies out in the spring. really--5 inches here is like 5 feet in Buffalo!
Sheann--Welcome! it sounds like you are off to a good start! Make sure you eat regularly--don't skip meals. That's the thing most likely to do me in. Tonight I'm having a steak and steamed artichoke. I eat very well on this program and have lost 60 lbs! It takes a little while to learn what you should and should not eat, but then it becomes second nature.
Jred--please next time--keep the snow. I spent five winters in Iowa and have not been a fan of snow ever since. This one has been pretty, but it's enough for the winter!
NASCAR--6 weeks and three days until Daytona!!!!!!
Mellie--Welcome! It is a very good idea to fill your house with things that are SB appropriate. I snack on fruit--grapes, tangerines, and apples this time of year. I always keep triscuits in the house--and usually some kind of cheese and/or salsa (read the labels--many salsas have sugar in them). You can also bake some WW pitas (I separate the halves and then cut each half into 6-8 triangles) and make SB legal chips that are right tasty. I spray them with a little olive oil and salt (or other seasonings) and bake them until they are crispy. That's one of the tricks I learned on this board and it has really helped!
I hope everyone has a good evening!
Peace,
Susan

Just thought I would pop in and say hello. Looks like things are picking up! Nice to hear that some of you guys had a hard time saying NO to food this holiday season too!
It has been a short week for me. We in Dallas area got a few flurries from that snow storm. Wished for more, but no luck!
I have been trying to get in the mind set of this WOE. It is not easy, as you all know! Has there been anything that you guys have done to make your mind believe that this WOE is good for you?
Thanks
Anyway, enough chatter for now.

Evening all! just a short post as I am in the process of watching the Rose Bowl. Im rooting for Nebraska. Im from Iowa orginally so Ill root for a northern team.
To all those leaving for WDW please be careful and have a good time. Good luck Frog on your run. Hopefully the weather will be good.
Congrats to all those who have managed to stay op this week. I am trying really hard. Ive been on a carb kick this week and its killing me weight wise. I just cant say no to the crackers for snacks and pasta for dinner. I want to try and have just 1 serving a day of carbs. I doing pretty good protein wise, and veggie wise. I have even managed to say no to legal sweets which is an accomplisment for me.
Well the game is fixing to start so adios for now.

Hi!
Just got back from going out to dinner for the first time since I started the diet. Wasn't too bad. The place we went to (I didn't pick it, my SIL did) had mostly hamburgers, tex-mex and salads. Played it safe and went with a chicken ceasar salad. My daughter ate the bread and croutons.
First day back to school. I must say both my students and I were in agreement. We all could have used more time off! ;)
Frog - Good luck! I hope you are able to make it down to WDW.
To all the others making their way to WDW - Good luck as well. I'm rooting for you here in TX.
Sheann - Welcome to SB! I just started on 1/1/02. So far I've managed to loose 4 lbs. I will warn you, I have had headaches today for the first time. I made it through today which is my toughest day at school. Just keep focused. There are some great people here and lots of support! Keep up the good work!
Well, I have lesson plans to make up and then it's off to bed!
Goodnight everyone....

Well, we are here in Fayetteville, took us 3 hours to make a normally hour and 45 minute drive. I-40 between Chapel Hill and Garner (other side of Raleigh) was one lane.
It snowed about 8-10 total at home and there is about 6-8 here in eastern Fayetteville.
We are going to try to make run for the border as soon as the roads are clear enough in the morning. I hope that it will be smooth sailing after we get outta the Carolinas!
Marabou Cahill is on the enclosed porch looking out at the snow. She is having others take care of her on a regular basis. She cracked us up going out in the snow today. She ran out and placed her front paws in it, then immediately did a face plant/headstand because those back paws weren't about to go in the snow too.
It is quite sad here with out the IL's dog. Our pup is very distrubed and walks around whining and looking for her. At one point at dinner MIL got up from the table because she was overcome. We are all quite  about it. Waiting for time to pass to help with healing these wounds.
ZANNE - We are being as careful as we can be! Lots of cars and trucks all over the interstate today! I think we'll make it for the race just fine, just hope we aren't late for SOL's get together or arriving at WDW at 3:00 am.
BOB - Do we need to come pick you up at the airport? We are headed down I-95 does that go near where you are? Hope the interstate will be open. Yes HUBBY is running too, actually running it with me this time, TOGETHER, rather than each doing our own time. Thanks for your good thoughts. Deb will keep you posted.
FILLISE - Hope you and Belle are enjoying your snow day. I know that snow on the plains is a strange, but beautiful occurance. Give your kitty a hug.
Well, I guess that this will very well be the last post that I will make unless we all post from SOL's or something like that.
Before I go I want to THANK ALL of YOU for your support over the past few months as I have set out to train for this C-R-A-Z-Y race! I appreciate those of you who are driving to Orlando to chear me own, have brunch, and those of you who are supporting me emotionally from your living room on Sunday morning. I want to finish and do my best so as not to let you all down. Of course I want to acheive my own personal goals, but I want y'all to know that y'all matter to me too and I want to make you proud! ;) Thanks again! Y'all are the greatest!
Peace,
FROG

Evening All!
Been busy this evening and haven't had a chance to get on the board until now. Just made a SB LEGAL CHEESECAKE(has to cool in the fridge over night, but sure looks good!), and now have the ZUCHINNI LOAF CAKE that I plan on taking with me to Orlando in the oven. Figured I should try to make it now, tomorrow seems like it's going to be busy for me, and one less thing for me to do. Haven't decided if I'll bake the quiche tomorrow or when I awake on Saturday morning. The hummus will definitely be made before we leave at 5am-nothing like fresh hummus!
It sure is chilly here tonight, suppose to get colder too! I like cooler weather, but not cold. Seems now that I don't have the blubber on me, I get colder easier-Eli says I no longer have any insulation! Lets see if I get my rear up and out for my walk/jog tomorrow!
FILLISE, sounds like you had a nice bit of snow for your area. I'd love to see it, just for a day or two-from inside the house I think! Don't worry, have camera, will travel. I'm sure someone besides me will be playing papparazi this weekend! I tried reading SUGAR BLUES, just couldn't get into it, so you can let me know your personal review of the book. Have you read Montignac's book? That's really where SB got their info from.
GRIZ, welcome back-glad to hear your back safe and sound:) Congratulations on your victories-all victories are big when you are victorious over them! Trust me, you won't miss Coke after a while. I personally don't eat protein bar, I read something about the glycerin in them that turned me off of them, plus, it really is better to eat a meal, or something more of substance, BUT, I will say, in cases of emergency, eating one would be okay. I think the best in my opinion are the WORLDWIDE NUTRITION PURE PROTEIN, either the Deluxe Chocolate or the Peanut Butter. Others may be able to give you their input on other brands and flavors. I eat small meals throughout the day, so for me, I feel like I'm always snacking. Fruit of course is good, but there are lots of other alternatives. Nuts, (watch portions), SF jello, cheese on something like Ryvita, celery and hummus (we eat lots of hummus on this board), stuff like that are good options, but like I said, there are many more.
BOB, you're a Floridian now, don't you know how the heck to eat avocados!!!! Geez girl, what have you been doing with them! We aren't hitting the BBQ trail up there, OUTBACK seems to be a better choice, but one never knows if plans will change. I'm going to be freezing my tush off up there-you know I haven't a thing to wear!!! Have a safe trip home-if you can make it home!!!! LOL!! Serves you right, you should be here with us!!!!
NASCAR, are those great snow pics going to get posted on the board??? Let me know how you like the agave once you do try it. I'm sure this year will be great for you, whatever has been in the past is just that, in the past, and as you said, this is a NEW YEAR!!!!
JRED, that sure is cold-14 degrees, ick! Glad you had a nice time on your date with DH. Michael saw Lord of the Rings and liked it too. Hates that he has to wait another year to see the next part of it. Eggs are great in the morning and def. makes a difference when your day starts with some protein. I eat Eggbeaters sometimes and it holds me over for quite a while. Loved the pic you post on the BIO BOARD. On the website, I looked around to see your pics, nice collection on there!!!!
SHEANN, you may easily find you don't have much of an appetite, but you MUST make sure you eat, and eat enough. One of the biggest problems I have seen is that people don't eat enough food, and they al of a sudden stop losing and don't know why. When you don't eat enough, your metabolism slows down and your body goes into starvation mode, and, say you only are eating 1000 calories, your body survives on 700 calories, banking 300 calories as fat. So, do make sure you eat enough, PLEASE:)
ROSALIE, good for you on the exercise, you're doing well this week!
MEL, 2lbs isn't so bad, considering I'm up 4.5, it sure doesn't sound bad to me!!! Wish you and everyone else could be with us this weekend too. I'll make sure I yell extra loud for FROG and her DH this weekend to make it sound like you are all there as well! No time to go buy a jacket, will just have to have the nipples stand at attention-problem is, the rest of my boob doesn't so they will be saluting the ground!!!
SEF, actually, Eli did get Mgr of the Quarter last year and that earned him a trip to Seattle to meet Howard Shultz, which should be happening some time this month. He wants to win again, looks good and means he gets to go back to Seattle again next year. He really does deserve it though, not just because I say so, but he really does so much and is so good at his job! Here's hoping he gets it again!!!! Thanks for clearing up who made the bagels!!!
ZANNE, geez, nothing like the DH to tell you you look like a raccoon! I guess when you get a compliment like that, you KNOW you need to get some rest! Hope tonight you sleep like a dead person-I almost said baby, but you know they can be up and down all night, so more like a dead person! Did you get in your 3rd night of exercise??
PRAVDA, after looking into other "diets" before deciding on SB, I didn't have to think that this WOE was good for me, I knew it would be good for me. There are not many "diets" that Dr.'s recommend to patients these days. Many suggest WW, but not many others. Many of the gals on this board can tell you their Dr. suggested this WOE for them. My Uncle is an Internist and he too recommends a low glycemic WOE to many of his patients. This is not a fad diet that you have to go off of after so many days/weeks, it doesn't restrict any certain food group, it's not low in one area and high in another (like high fat, low carb), it's a well balanced, easy WOE that you can follow indefinitely and has the ability to show you more benefits than just weight loss. And that's my sermon for tonight;)
CATLOVER, NEBRASKA??? How could you? Oh well, those CANES are beating their butts anyhow, so you go root for them, I'm rooting for the CANES, who are going to be the National Champions!!!!! GO CANES!!!! I got your e-mail and will try to answer you after I return from this weekend. Why are you trying to do only one carb serving???
WAFRA, sounds like you did okay at dinner-it gets easier as time goes on and you get more familiar with the plan. The headaches will pass soon, just stay focused, drink lots of water and have a few Tylenol on hand.
Just took the ZUCCHINI LOAF CAKE out of the oven, looks wonderful, hope it tastes the same! Going to wrap that baby up and put it with the other stuff I have to take up with me on Saturday.
I'll check in with you all sometime tomorrow!

Good Friday Morning Everyone!
It's cold out there, haven't checked by opening the front door, but on AOL weather it says is 43 degrees-too cold for me!!!! How will I survive Orlando this weekend????? I guess I'll have to get by it with the warmth of friendship!!!!:D
Will try to get in my walk a bit later, do some other stuff that needs to be done (pay bills, start laundry, etc) so it can warm up a tad. Lets see what degree I finally get out there at-remains to be seen!
Let me tell you, the CHEESECAKE I MADE CAME OUT UNBELIEVABLY WONDERFUL!!!! Still slightly warm, Eli and Lauren wanted to dig in, okay, I confess, me too! Well, this morning, after it's been in the fridge, it's even better-it's to die for!!!!! Of course, you all know this means I've already eaten way too much. I'm trying to hold out. Thinking about making another one to take with us up to Orlando so the gals can try it and give some honest feedback, it was so easy, it's not funny!! I will try to get it typed up and posted for you all ASAP, if not today, def. for next week! How can you NOT love this WOE when you can eat things like this and they can be SB LEGAL (in moderation, of course!-something I have to learn to do!!!)
Scale is back up yet another pound today:( I'm at the high point of my cushion and I don't like it one tiny bit! I'm sure it's due to mid-cycle AND playing DOOKIE HOUSER for the last couple days, (good for at least a pound, I'm sure), as well as eating a wee bit too much legal foods-again, not journaling is doing me no good. I think next week, with the kids back in school, Eli having a really busy schedule at work, I'll be able to get back on track with this-I have to!
TODAY IS FRIDAY FUN DAY I saw this poem and thought I'd post it:)
I'm Okay
The house is a mess, the dishes are dirty.
I'm too old for this stuff, I'm well over thirty!
The car is not clean, my hair is a wreck,
And I've already spent next Friday's paycheck.
The laundry needs washing, the kids are too rowdy,
And I never have time for a leisurely "Howdy."
With all that I do, it's never enough,
It's never quite finished, it always looks rough.
I looked in my mirror and what did I see?
A harried old stranger, where I used to be.
The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.
Today is tomorrow, and I'm not caught up yet.
My kids are growing at such a fast pace,
That I'm missing their childhood for the sake of this race.
I work and I clean and I cook, and I say
"Hit the books, clean your room!" there's no time for play.
Well, the Lord, for some reason, chose ME with the care
Of two of His children, but I'm rarely there!
I've GOT to slow down lest there's nothing to show
For my role as their Mom when they pack up and go!
I'm only one person, but look through my door,
What appears to be one, divides into more!
I'm a chauffeur, a cook, a planter of trees,
A teacher, an umpire, a mender of knees.
Sometimes, I forget that deep down inside,
There's a lady with feelings, and last night, she cried.
She gets tired and lonely, feels taken for granted
She wants to see blooms from the seeds that she's planted.
Then, amidst all the turmoil in this mind-bending pace,
My little ones look at me - square in the face...
And just when I need it, they all in one day Say,
"Momma, I love you" and then...I'm OKAY!
by Rabona Gordon

Here's another cute one. You may not understand some of the Yiddish words, but I think you could figure them out!
The Month After Chanukah
'Twas the month after Chanukah, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibble, the latkas I'd taste;
Chanukah parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine or the egg creams, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd not said: "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---
said to myself, as only I can...
"You can't spend the winter disguised as a man!"
So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of all chocolate, each cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie--not even a schtick
I'll want to chew only a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot. Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!
************
Well, since I was last to post last night, and first this morning, not much else to tell you except HOW BOUT THOSE CANES!!!!!!:D
Gonna go pay some bills, get a few things together and start my day. I'll check in sometime later today/tonight.

Good Morning to all,
I have not been doing good and that is why I have not been posting. I understand that this is a mind thing and all I have to do is get my mind set again but it is so hard sometimes. I have a lot of stuff going on lately that has been on my mind and SB has not been one of them. But as I speak I know what I have to do and I will do it. With me going back to work on Tuesday and the kids heading to school things should get back to normal around here.....wait a minute what is normal?? Anyway I guess what I am saying is I need encouragement and lots of it. Thanks in advance.
All the animals are doing fine. The horses loved the dusting of snow we got yesterday morning. They ran around and kicked up there heels for a good long while. I went to the co-op yesterday and got more feed....maybe it will last for a few days.....LOL.
We are trying to decide on a Digital Camera.....has anyone ever bought anything off of Bizrate? I found the one I want there at a savings of anywhere from $20 to $110 off the list price. Then you have to pay shipping but doesn't seem too bad. I have been wanting one for a while. Then you all will get to see lots of pictures of my family.....four legged and two legged and our farm.
Well going to do laundry. Cya all later.
Debbie :)

Yes, I'm late, but it's been a hectic week. Have worked every day this week since New Years Eve, ( really busy season right now at the hospital) & have not had a chance to read the board, so I was sooooo surprised to find 5 pages already, so I'd better get busy, huh?
I'm off today & it's too cold to venture out, so I guess I'll be right here for most of the day trying to catch up with the board & email too. I see there are some new boards to look at too. Will check those out later.
I believe today is my 1 year anniversary on this board ! Over 3 years on SB all together counting the 6 months I had gone astray . I have lost a total of 36 lbs during this past year. Some of them more than once, as most of all of you here understand that. On Dec 22, & for about a week before that, according to my weight commander, I was at 138, & gained about 3 lbs during the hoidays, but since yesterday, I'm back down to 138 again, so I don't think I did too bad considering. I'm glad the tempting sweets are all gone from the Nurse's station. My original goal was 140, but I'm aiming for 135 to give me a buffer zone. It's back to business now that the holidays are over. :smug:
Oh, I got my Agave Syrup in from Frankferd Farms Foods. It was 21.82 for 12/8oz bottles. Total came out to be 32.06 after shipping charges, but that's still about 2.68 per bottle & I think I had paid a little more than that at the HFS plus the tax, so I'm pleased with the cost. I do have the phone number if anyone needs it. I believe it was Zanne that had asked about it on last week's board.
Ok, I'm gone back to page 1 to read. Have a great day everyone!

Well, I'm back at work today. Our office was closed yesterday due to the snow. It was gone off the roads by noon, but it sure looked pretty.
I didn't do so well on the eating while I was stuck at home though. I haven't had a chance to completely clean out my kitchen of all the bad stuff, so I ended up eating non-legal stuff. I didn't go overboard though (at least I don't think so).
This week has been so weird. I was off Monday and Tuesday, only at work for 3 hours on Wednesday, off yesterday and tomorrow is the weekend. It's going to be rough having to work a full week next week.
Well, I'm off to lunch where I intend to be better than yesterday. Hope everyone has a good friday.

Hey All:wave:
After much debate and prodding myself, I finally got out and did my 4.5 miles. It's cold and windy out there, but just after 11 minutes, the jacket that I thankfully found in my closet came off and got tied around my waist-I got hot! Haven't a clue what time I did it in, my timer was acting funky today. Just glad I got out there!
Well, the cheesecake is gone, with the exception of one tiny sliver waiting for my Mothers mouth. Michael said it was NUMBER 1. My Sister drove out of her way to come get a piece, said it was delish. Nephew felt left out, wanted a piece, so there went another piece out the door-he gave it a thumbs up! Lauren, who doesn't like anything made with agave because it sounds too healthy, loved it, and my neighbor thought it was great. Waiting for Mom's opinion sometime today. Unfortunately, half the cake went in my stomach! Oh, but it was "OH SO GOOD!!!" I am definitely going to make another one to take tomorrow. Just wondering if I should try using a springform pan instead of the small 7 1/2" cake pan I used-so afraid to try something different, guess I'll decide later.
I finally made some reservations! Nothing like the last minute, normal with me. Was glad to hear they have a exercise room at the hotel. If we get back at a decent time, I plan on taking advantage of the treadmill if the room is open tomorrow night. This way, I only miss one day this week!!!!
I thought I had previously posted my recipe for ALMOND GRANOLA, but I couldn't find it on the recipe boards, so I have posted it on the latest 2002 Recipe Boards. It's easy and delicious, and I highly recommend it:D
REMINDER If you haven't already done so, PLEASE make sure you've added your BIO to the newest 2002 BIO BOARD!!!! I will be updating my mailing list with those e-mail addresses that are posted on the BIO BOARD in the near future. If for some reason you don't want to post your e-mail in your BIO, e-mail it to me directly so I can add you to my mailing list, but please, do post your BIO when you have a little free time. THANKS!
Also, your input please-do we want to do a STORY BOARD? I know we "talked" about it in the past, and I thought the New Year would be a good time to start this if we decided to do it. So, any input on this subject would be appreciated.
CAT, we all know the right team won!;) Those CANES sure did kick some Cornhusker bootie last night. Don't limit yourself too much on the carbs, your body needs them. 2-3 a day is fine. Are you getting at least 40% of your intake from total carbs??
BUS, I got the KODAK 3900 from Eli for Xmas, but haven't had a chance to even open the box yet. There are lots of sights on the web where you can price compare cameras, it really does pay to shop, whether it be locally or on the web. I got Michael's Quicklink Pen on the web and the pricing varied by $100. I got it from BUY.COM, which had a great price AND free shipping. I know it's hard after going off plan to jump back on, the reason I hadn't cheated for almost 2 years, cause I know me and I know how hard it is, but you can do it, just don't procrastinate and say tomorrow every day. That's how I got in trouble the only other time I lost weight-I went off track and started to gain, told myself that I wouldn't go up more than 5lbs, and each 5lbs I said the same thing, until I found myself back near 200lbs. We're behind you 100%!!!
RHROO, dookie felt like a pound, but didn't change the scale after I stepped on it, the numbers, not stepping on dookie! LOL! You had me reading your post twice wondering at first, what the heck you were asking me about-ACTIVE NECTAR? Yes, the cheesecake has agave in it. I haven't posted it yet, don't have time right now, but will do it next week, I promise! Good going on the exercise!!
MELF, CONGRATS! What a great anniversary to celebrate! Congrats on getting back under the 140 mark, your new goal is right there in reach, and I'm sure you'll get there soon. Glad to hear you got the agave, still a good price with the shipping. I have the FRANKFERD FARMS website posted on the food information board as well. Did you order anything else from them?? They have some other great stuff as well. Which brand agave did you get, Sweet Cactus Farms, or Cucamonga??
JMUIR, I too find that I tend to eat more when I'm stuck at home, out of boredom, I'm sure. I also seem to eat more when I don't exercise. Next week, getting back to more of a normal routine, I think we'll both do better;)
Okay, time for me to hit the showers, I'm starting to smell a wee bit ripe. I will try and check in this evening.

Ok, I'm not done reading yet, but I'm hoping I can get this posted in one, if not, I'll cut it in half & post another. so glad to see so many of you back on the board! Does my heart good to hear from old friends.
Nance, Glad to see you back on the board. We've missed you. I know what you mean with all the sweets brought into work over the holidays. Some of these doctors are always harping at us & pts to lose weight & what do they bring us? Yeap! Sweets! Congrats on making Office Manager.
j red, What part of LA were you? Yeap, once you get a taste of that sugar, it's hard to stay away from it. I thought I had it made until I gave into the first bite! :nono:
Meliris I also find that I gain an excess when I eat Chinese food. I think it's all the msg in it & find that the extra weight is usually water gain, so hang in there, it'll come back off soon. LOL Your DH STOLE YOUR SCALE? LOL That's too funny. So be a good girl so you can get it back soon! LOL
RHOO, Hi!! So glad to see you back on the board! I've missed ya. Sorry to hear that the last couple of months have been rough, but hey, you're right to get back here where we can encourage each other to get back on track. The journaling is a great idea. I need to do that too, just hard to find the time to do all I'd like to do these days.
BigKnightsMomma/ Chris I like your idea of the special order of shrimp & veggies at the Chinese place. Will definitley remember that the next time we go cause I always tell myself that I will eat sensably off the buffet & it NEVER happens. Your idea sounds like the right solution. Thanks for sharing it.
SEF, 60 lbs! WOW!! That's terrific girl. Don't feel bad about that jambalaya & cornbread dressing! As long as you're back on track now, which I'm sure you are. Have missed you. Hoping to be able to chat again in the coming days/weeks. How are you fairing with this damp & cold? We had sleet & snow on New Years Day! Such a rare thing here in the south of LA. This morning, I still have an area of about 2" of it that has been in the shade since then that has not melted yet, but I'm sure it will today. It should be getting up to the 50's today. My feet are like a block of ice, just can't seem to warm them up enough. I'm sure the NORTHENERS are probably laughing if they read this, but the cold & dampness here is bad for us cause we're just not use to this.
FROG, Sounds like this is the week end for your marathon, is that right?? Best of luck to ya! I know you & all the SB gals that can show up will have a GREAT time. Wish I could be there too, but alas, my plight is here, working my legs & back off!
Bob I saw that the Tennesee Vols were beating the heck out of some other team the other day & I said, "I know BOB is whooping & hollering about now!"
LAMAP, Glad to hear you had a quiet New Years. I worked New Years Eve, then back for a 12 hr day on the 1st, so mine was sure not quiet. Another nursing friend cooked & fed us. DH came for lunch, but had to eat without me cause we were so busy. I ate on the run later in the afternoon, which was probably better anyway, cause I didn't have time to give into to the sweets. LOL
wafra66/Tina Glad to hear that you are ready & willing to start the new year with this woe. I have a daughter that is about 50 miles northeast of Houston, in Dayton. Her name is Tina also! I use the Log Cabin SF syrup & have had no problems with it. I believe it's legal. I use it to sweeten my oatmeal in the mornings & it gives a wonderful new flavor to it!
music teach/Tina, Aren't hot flashes annoying? I'm already so fair skin, so when they come on, there is no question as to the fact that I'm having one cause my face getting redder than my hair. LOL Sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. Prayers offered up for them both.
Debbie, Wow! You had an exciting morning with the fire in your oven. Glad to hear that your mom saved the day & that the oven & BLINTZ SOUFFLE both survived. LOL I like the idea of the new boards, especiall the recipe boards being combined. I will try to post on the new BIO board as soon as I can. Hope you'll have a GREAT time in Orlando this week end. Thanks for all your kind words. You are so important to us too & we thank you for all your hard work on this board. It is so much easier to follow this WOE & deal with the rough times with you & all the friends we have on this board. I know I have been posting less lately, but always yearn to be here & to catch up with everyone, as it always helps me with my struggles & even takes away the troubles of my day when I come here. A BIG THANKS to you.
Sheann, Hi, glad to hear you're planning to join us. Welcome! You've made a wise decision in chosing this WOE. It's the best.
Zanne this is where I ordered my Agave Nectar. Was well pleased with the price & with them when I called in my order. http://www.frankferd.com/
CATLOVER, Glad to hear that you've resolved to a SF year. It sure doesn't take much to gain it back when we stray from this WOE. I know, been there. It was about 18 lbs for me. Hope you have a more successful year in 2002.
VIV, Great to see you back on the board! I sure understand how having construction ongoing around the house can be time consumming. We've been having some outside work being done the past couple of months & still not finished yet. This morning they delivered a ton of limestone for my driveway & new car port. My brother, whose doing the work for us was suppose to be here by 8 when the truck arrived, but was not. Well, the driver backed up into one of the posts that my DB had cemmented into the ground & sure did make a mess. Now I have a corner post that has to be redone, 2 piles of limestone, & no brother to spread it. It's making me a little crazy, but nothing I can do about it. Oh well! Hey, that surprises me that they say Chinese food is low glycemic, but hey...that's good news if it's true! It sure isn't low in salt. LOL
FILLISE, I know what you mean about the snow. Girl, we only had flurries here for about an hour or so, but everyone was so excited. The last snow we had that accumulated here was back in Feb of 1988. Like you, in AL, it is an unusual site here too.
jmuir Good to have you back on the board too! Hope you have a successful year of losing too.
TVthatsME Hey, 3 lbs is not bad for these holidays so close together & I'm sure you'll lose those in no time. Mine are already gone!
ROSALIE, I sympathize with you about the working NY, but that's what us nurses do alot of holidays, huh? Hey, I took a look at your recipe earlier & it sure sounds good. Will have to give it a try now that I have Agave on hand. I agree with your post to Zanne about Wendy's Chili & salad. I've had that & think it's a good choice. Wish I had some now to warm me up. LOL
Thunder  she moved the scale on you? LOl glad to hear that's all it was & I'm sure that itty bitty piece of divinity did not hurt you. You've done so well with the losing! Miss our chats & hope to catch up with you in the near future. Is DH still working?

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to get in a quick post before the weekend. I've had a bad day today and am ready to go home and soak in a hot bath!!
I'm stopping at the grocery store this evening and re-stocking with SB legal stuff. Over the holidays I let myself run out of everything legal!! I'm gonna get WW pitas (great for little pizzas and taco pizza too), SF pudding (my DH loves it) and grannie smith green apples! I got kinda burned out on the apples so I laid off them for awhile. Now I think I'm ready to do the "apple a day" thing again.
I just realized today that my appt to get that dreaded pap test done again is next week and so is TOM  !!!!! That will never work - I'll have to reschedule that appt first thing Monday morning!! No way will that happen - YUCK!!
jmuir - I'm with you on the dread of next week! I think its really gonna hurt to have to work a full week again! I'm only about 3 hours from you in N. AL and we didn't see a flake!! I'm green...:p
Deb - Did you get your water in today???? I haven't, but I'm gonna gulp a 24 oz bottle on my way home - I'll be running to the BR as soon as I hit the door!
Hi Busdeb - you'll just have to crawl back on the wagon with the rest of us. I'm having to scratch and claw to get back on track myself, so don't feel alone!! I think I do better when I'm on a "normal" schedule too. Things have been to out of whack through the holidays!
Frog - Good luck on the run! Hope you get there safely!
Melf - We aren't far from each other on weight... however I would love to break that 140 barrier pretty soon and be closer to ya! My low has been 144, but I'm still up a little from the holidays. Yes, it will come off, but it still makes me want to scream!!
BOB - they are talking snow here over the weekend too! I wouldn't mind having another long weekend!
Gotta go - Have a wonderful weekend!!
- my cheerleader is for Frog -

I am so excited about getting started on this way of eating. I have been reading all of the great sounding recipies that have been posted to get some ideas. I think the hardest part will be not eating potatoes. But I know that I can get through it. There are many other great things out there to have instead. I know I'm making it sound so easy right now, but when I get right down to it, I'll be on this board many, many times a day typing out my frustrations:^:
Hope all of you in the south get through this period with all the snow and cold weather. Here in Michigan, except for the last two days, it has snowed every day since Christmas Eve. (I am in the snow belt on Lake Michigan in the town of St. Joseph). It is beautiful, but definitely cold too.
Well, tomorrow I am shopping for all the food I will need to get started. Hope you all have a great day.

Hey All:wave:
Don't have time to respond individually to all those who've posted since I posted last. Just wanted to come on the board real quick as I get ready for tomorrow, which I haven't done anything besides making and baking food to take. I'm WAY behind!
I made another cheesecake, looks good, hope it tastes as good as the first. Made another zucchini loaf cake, will decide which looks better and take that. Quiche is prepared and will bake it when I wake up at 4am:eek: along with making the hummus, which doesn't take but a few minutes.
I think I best get up a half hour earlier than I planned, 3:30am, will give me time to throw some stuff in a bag to take. I told SOL that I'm going to look like a fool, I have NO clothes to keep me warm, oh well:rolleyes:
Anyhow, I just wanted to wish you all a good weekend. Please, keep the board hopin' until I get back late Sunday night. I'll be back in time to get the new weekly board ready for Monday morning.
We'll be thinking of you all at our get together-wish we all could get together at once!!!! Will take lots of pictures, I promise!!!
Nite!

JUST LOST A LONG POST AND I'M PISSED!
So this one will be much shorter!
Had a very expensive day getting dd ready to go back to school. We both hit the outlets hard for undies, running shoes, jeans, sweats, then a long trip thru the grocery store for about a ton of canned goods and cereal. I swear that girls gonna grow fins from all the tuna she eats:lol:
Today I had my best food day in a while- finally seem to be getting back to portion control and not reaching for the triscuits and peanut butter every 10 minutes. I stayed 99% legal over the holidays, but control was not in my vocabulary. No heavy duty workouts today, just walking. I'm feeling physically burned out and may just walk til Monday. I think I'm as addicted to working out as I was to food, and may have to padlock the door to the weight room and bike.
Hope all those in the snow have dug out by now and are safe and cozy!
Hello to the Orlando bound! Go Froggie!

Well, what a difference a few days make. The feeding frenzie is over and I've been staying pretty much OP. Finally had an undisturbed 7 hours of sleep last night:) Had nice news from the scale this morning too: I'm back to my pre-Christmas weight of 165. :D Nice to see considering I had been up to 168 this earlier this week. I've been doing the elliptical the past couple of days and had forgotten how exercise energizes me!
WOW! The board has been busy. Here we go
SEF Aren't the gingerbread men supposed to be running AWAY from you? LOL. We must have daredevil cookies!
Pravda How are you doing with this WOE? This is a great WOE cause you can eat so many different things. If you're afraid of jumping in with both feet, maybe try to eliminate a few illegal things at a time and replace them with legal stuff.
Wafra WTG on the 4 lb lost. Sorry to hear of your headaches, but hopefully they'll be gone soon.
FROG Your Kitty story was funny. I could just picture her with her face in the snow and hind feet strait up! Glad to hear you're making it slowly, but surely to WDW. GOOD LUCK WITH THE RACE! WE'RE CHEERING FOR YOU!
Debelli You're making me salivate with all your talk of cheesecake and zucchini loaf. Up at 3:30?? Yikes! Have a safe trip! Hope you got everything done.
BusDeb I agree with you, that when things are back to routine that it's easier to be OP. Sounds like you've put yourself in a good frame of mind to get back OP. Don't stay away from the board cause you're not doing well. That's probably the time you need to be here most. I was on whining and complaining earlier this week about me eating lots of illegal stuff. I got wonderful support and encouragement and reasurance that I wasn't the only one who has food binges. So don't be afraid to come here when you're not doing so well. We want to help! :)
Rhroo WTG on the exercise! I'm getting back into it too and realizing how great I feel afterwards.
Melf 36lbs in a year is GREAT! And you're nearly at your low end goal. Very inspiring. Thanks for the info on the Agave. When I convert the price to Canadian dollars, it works out to what I pay too. My inlaws are going to look for some agave but I think I may also order some and have it sent to them in West Palm Beach--it'll save me a lot in duty if they drive it back in April.
TV Thanks for reminding me about using pitas for pizza! I keep reading it, but forget to make them. I was going to try to dig up a WW pizza dough recipe, but I think I'll use the pitas we have and make pizza tonight!
Sheann There are lot of things to eat with this WOE. I do miss my scalloped potatoes and french fries a bit. But we like brown rice with tzatziki (greek yogurt/garlic sauce-yummy) and barley and beans and lentils. And sometimes we'll have an extra veggie instead of a starchy carb.
BOB Are you home yet from your vacation or are you still frozen in?
Well, I've been here for over an hour trying to get caught up.
Big Hello to everyone I didn't get to personally. I'll have to try to get on more to keep up!
Gave a great weekend all! Hope all you gals at WDW have a wonderful time together.

GOOD MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!!!!! :D
Just wanted to drop by and let you know that I'm still in the mountains, another storm is supposed to start after midnight
tonight...My flight is 1:10 pm on Sunday to Atlanta and then after about a two hour layover there.....home by 5:38 pm Sunday evening....KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED..... ;)
It's not the getting to Atlanta part that I worry about....it's the flights coming in from other parts of the USA that could hang me up. My cousin's son lives in Atlanta so I'm not worried if I get stranded....I would have a cozy house to go to...
Evidently Debbie must have been in a hurry this morning when she left....she usually leaves a message on the board before departing...Take it from one who knows....THEY WILL HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME.... Wish I could have gotten home to go, but definately next time... :s:
I'm off to TRY and pack a few of my things...I'll check in later

Hi everyone!
Here's even more reason to stick w/ SB WOE:
From Prevention Magazine - Jan 2002
New Test Helps You Avoid "Wrinkle Food"
Want to know which foods age you fast–so you can avoid them? A new test has been developed at the State Univ. of NY in Buffalo to reveal foods that generate the most particles called free radicals after you eat them. Free radicals are major suspects as skin agers, memory robbers, eyesight dimmers, and even cancer starters. Paresh Dandona, MD, tested the blood of subjects a few hours after they ate 300 calories' worth of various foods. His first findings? "Sugar and saturated fat seem to be the worst for generating free radicals, while OJ (orange juice), with so many antioxidants such as the vitamin C in OJ can deactivate free radicals before they age you." Stay tuned for more news about which foods put your age on fast forward.
Side-bar - How foods affect your free radical level -
Sugar (glucose) 140% increase
Fast food egg, cheese, & canadian bacon sandwich w/ hash browns 90-100% increase
Cream 95% increase
Milk protein 60% increase
Water no effect

Hello everyone!
It is gorgeous here today--the high will be all the way in the 50s--a heat wave! Snow is still on the ground but melting rapidly.
Good day program wise yesterday. Tonight I'm going to make some chicken soup. Yum Yum.
Gator--Have you recovered from the SHOCK yet? What in the world happened? How are all the Gator fans taking it?[/SIZE]
BOB--Can you believe it? What will we do without Spurrior to be the SEC's bad boy? Heh heh heh--beat Florida--that's what!
Tree--thanks for the Prevention article on Free Radicals. Yet another reason to get rid of sugar. I'm reading Dufty's Sugar Blues--he likens Sugar to a drug--really blames all the world's problems on refined sugar. I'm not sure I'd go that far, but I DO know I feel different when it gets into my body--so it can't be good for any of us!
Frog and her rooting section--I don't know if Frog will get to see this for tomorrow--but if any of her cheering section reads this please tell her that I am thinking about and rooting for her! I can't wait to hear all about the weekend!
Sheann--Once you get the sugar and starches out of your system, then you won't really miss the potatoes. It takes a few days to "detox" but you really do lose your taste for sweet and starchy foods. Whole grains are so much more vitamin rich than refined flours, and rices that you will feel a difference there too. You do need carbohydrates--just makes sure they are low glycemic ones. I got The Glycemic Revolution pocket guide to losing weight as a supplement to SB. It has a more detailed GI list of foods. There are some things that are at odds with the list in the SB book, but this woman is the one who has done most of the reseach of the GI and I trust her numers. Good luck and let us know how it is going!
Everyone else--I've got to go so I have to cut this short. I'm going to try to go see "A Beautiful Mind" this afternoon. I'll let you know!
Have a good day everyone!

Yummy! Just tried Deb's "Fresh and Fruity Agave Smoothie"
Deeeelicious!:D
I used a frozen 6 berry blend (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries & red and black currents) and since the agave syrup might be hard to come by, I tried substituting a 1/2 cup of white grape juice concentrate. It was still kind of tart (Maybe the types of berries?) so I added about 1/2 TBSP of agave to each glass. So it cuts down on the agave by about half.
The only problem is I'm still trying to pick the berry seeds from my teeth!
The store carries several other frozen fruits so I've got to try them all.
MARIE --FYI--I used President's Choice "Too Good To Be True" Fat Free French Vanilla yogurt and President's Choice Frozen Fruit Blend.
Sorry U.S. gals, but I think these are pretty much "only in Canada" products. (I could be wrong)

Hi everyone!
I'm back! This has been a stressful couple of months for me at work. I didn't really fall off the face of the earth though! :)
So here's the big news - I QUIT my job! Yaaaaay! I wasn't desperate enough to be unemployed, just desperately unhappy. Fate/Karma/Luck must have intervened as I was called with a job offer out of the blue - which I accepted! :dizzy:
It was becoming just unbearable at work. They laid off one person, then pulled my supervisor into the laid off person's position. I was told that my boss and I would have to "pick up the slack". I noticed however, that I was the one who was working all the extra overtime. Then he told our part time person that she needed to contain her hours, as if looked "bad" if they increased. So any help she provided was stopped. I am used to working overtime, and it was fairly obvious that it was going to increase. My complaint and "the last straw" was that I was the ONLY ONE expected to do it. Not acceptable. So, on to greener pastures.... You can't see it but I'm dancing!:D
I hope everyone holidays were great, onto the New Year! Congrats to all the people who have stayed OP, and those who are back on the wagon! I'm in the latter category.
Check out the "Chichikoot" recipe on the recipe board! It makes a great breakfast, or dessert

Hi to all the returnees! Tree! I thought you had disappeared....great news about the job and thanks for the article. I love your dataand information additions to this board.
Busdeb- Glad to see you back too! As someone else already said, don't stay away just cause your having a rough time with this woe or anything else. That's really the time to be here! Did you get snow? Did the horses enjoy it?
Zanne- "president's choice" brands are available here for the last couple of years. Everyone thinks it's the US president:lol: and says "who is Loblaws?" Did you decide if you are doing BFL? I bought the book last week after finally giving up on the library and started today. Will keep eating SB legal, even on free days, but am changing my workouts. Don't see any problem with the eating part re sugarbusters. The workouts will actually take less time than I've been doing, so I was lind of leary of that, but did the cardio today using the 3 peaks method and hitting highest intensity at the end, and oh boy! I thought I was in great shape but its two hours later and my quads are still burning! I was sweating for 20 minutes AFTER the workout. Can't wait for weights day on Monday:D
Bob- You sound very cheerful with your vacation extended! I'd be real antsy to get home by now. Hope you make it safely before the next storm! But it sounds like you can make any situation fun!
Hope the cheering section is a gathered-

TREE.....so glad to see you back...loved the article...CONGRATS on the new job...DOING WHAT????
MEL...I am ready to go home, but if it snows big again, I might have to rethink my travel...

MEL Thanks for letting me know you guys can get PC products. Now I know I can post what I use and you can probably get your hands on it. (I use lots of PC stuff). sometimes we don't have the great products you guys have!
I'm thinking about doing BFL. Maybe a modified version. I too will keep to staying pretty much SB legal. Won't be taking supplements. I think I really need the weights to help me lose. DO take before pics. I had DH take some of me in the summer before I started to try to lose and WOW! I can see a difference. I am now a "pear" again instead of an "apple". I have tried a similar cardio on the elliptical and boy, even tho I was on low resistance, it was a great workout. I seem to be leaning toward doing it, huh.
Ya know, maybe you just need to shake up your routine a bit for you to start losing again. I hope this works for you!
ANYONE ELSE DOING BODY FOR LIFE (BFL)???
Tree Welcome Back! I remember your "shmoo" avitar. It's cute. Glad to hear you got a new job. It's really not worth staying in a position that gives you so much stress. The article on free radicals was interesting. Picked up some OJ today
BOB Glad your ok while snowed in. Hope you make it home soon. Such crazy weather. We had around 34 degrees here and still have NO snow. I want snow.....can ya send some up here?
Fillise Didja enjoy your movie?
Gotta go! My SB legal pizza is ready!

HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
BOB YOU'VE BLOWN IT!! GATORGAL'S been around ALL DAY and NOT ONE PERSON has ribbed her.....we've all given our condolences, though.
The Dungeon Damsel said I HAD to get on here and post.....sooooo, as I much a piece of left-over SB cheesecake and contemplate getting up at 3:00 AM I decided to give you guys an update on our wonderful day together.
Debbie and Eli brought a smorgasbord of delicious food and Eli served up personally made cappucino's for everyone after we feasted on the most delicious SB food I have ever seen in one place. CHRIS and SUSAN[B] came up from the coast with lots of goodies. [b]GATORGAL came over from her neighborhood and RENEE AND BILL (DH) made it safely to O-Town. MY MEISTER secured the day off so he was able to play host with me. There was soooooo much good food. I thought that it would be the perfect advertisement for SugarBusters! If you couldn't find something to love on that table full of food you weren't ever going to find something you'd love to eat!
We ate, visited, looked at old pictures of DEBBIE and had a great time. It was like seeing old friends you haven't seen in a while as opposed to meeting people for the first time in person. We all tailgated down to the Expo where RENEE and BILL got their race packs and we scrutinized the displays and booths and collected all the free stuff they were passing out. We got a group picture made with the "GOT MILK" moustaches that SUSAN is going to post for everyone to see. Then trucked on down the road a bit to the OUTBACK for a SB dinner where we got to meet MR. GATORGAL.
Tomorrow morning starts bright and early for FROG and MR. FROG. We're anticipating that it will still be dark when we get to the starting line so FROG has provided "glow sticks" so we can find each other at the beginning. We'll follow them through the marathon by shuttling to various points along the route. We'll watch for them so we can yell and cheer them on, and then we plan to rendezsvous at the end of the marathon to see them get their medals. I'll be at DEBBIE and ELI's hotel room by 4:00am so we can make the shuttle to the starting line and then GATORGAL and DH will meet up with us somewhere along the line.
It's been a very exciting day and the only thing that would have made it better would have been having BOB here, too!! BUT, I THINK I GOT HER COFFEE SINCE SHE WASN'T HERE TO CLAIM IT!!!!:D
Okay, I've got to take a shower so I don't have to deal with that in the morning. I'm sure the others will weigh in on the great fun. I'll be sure to pass along your greetings and well wishes to the marathon-ers tomorrow morning.
p.s. BOB Debbie did leave and hour later than she planned this morning.......You KNOW she would've posted if she could've. ;)

Sol--Thanks for the update on the WDW marathon group. I am relived to know that the Frogs made it safely to Orlando, as did everyone else! Give them both a big hug for me at the finish line.
BOB--OK maybe the Gods are telling you that you are really a Carolina girl at heart! I think you'll get home ok tomorrow--they aren't calling for snow with this front--at least not here. Whew!
Tree--It's good to hear from you.Congrats on the new job! What are you doing now?
Zanne--I've not tried the BFL, but know some others who do it and seem to like it. Good luck with it! The movie was great. Russell Crowe is excellent. It gets a bit draggy in the middle, but it is quite good overall.
Mel--Good luck with the BFL. I've got to get back to the gym. December was awful timewise and now I hve pulled a muscle in my neck--going to the Dr on Monday as I have developed muscle spasms this weekend. Ick. I'm a little tense and this is an important time for my new business. I'm sure if I could just relax. . .
I am looking forward to hearing all the details about the race!
Sol--if you check in before you go tomorrow would you needle GatorGal for BOB and me. At least just a little?

Hi everyone
Here's wishing good luck to FROG for the race tomorrow. I know she probably won't see this but if any of the Florida gals who are going to WDW see this please let her know that I will be thinking of her tomorrow. And I hope you all enjoy the weekend.
I started this a few hours ago but had to stop as I had my dd and kids coming for dinner. I stayed completely op with the meal, had baked ham, squash casserole (from SB book), cauliflower and broccoli with parsley sauce, coleslaw, and spiced parboiled rice, which I omitted. Trying to keep the starchy carbs to a minimum. Everyone has just left so thought I would try and finish this post before the day is over.
Zanne - I like the sound of that PC fruit blend. I often use frozen raspberries in my hot ceral so will give this one a try next. I won't be trying the smoothie unless there is a substitute for the yogurt - it's something I've never been able to eat. I was in Ambrosia (HFS) to-day and discovered their cereal aisle. I bought some Bob's Red Mill 5 Grain Cereal with flaxseed and a Rye Flakes cereal. Have you tried any of these? They also had Steel Cut Oatmeal which is supposed to be the best one to use for its lower gi. I already have a big bag of large flake oatmeal to use up before I try that one.
Fillise - I've read the book Sugar Blues and he does try to blame all the worlds ills onto sugar which is certainly overdoing it, although I am sure lots of what he says is true. I found it interesting reading what he had to say about the refining of rice and how the soldiers in Vietnam were affected whose staple diet in the jungle was white rice, compared to the native soldiers who had the whole grain rice; also the native people (I think it was in India) whose staple diet was rice and how they developed vitamin deficiency diseases after the introduction of refined rice. Glad you liked the movie. I'm thinking of going to see it next week.
Tree - It's good to see you back. I hope you will be happy in your new job. It sounds like you made the right decision. It's just no fun being in a job that gave you so much stress. That was an interesting article on the free radicals.
Solshine - Sounds like you are having a whale of a time with the SB gals. Wish I could be there although I don't envy you getting up at 3.0 a.m.
BOB - Hope you get home safely soon.
Sheann - One you get used to this woe and find all the good things that you can eat you shouldn't have too much of a problem going without potatoes. I was a big potato eater before starting this woe but now it's only french fries that I crave occasionally. If I am eating out and I can steal a few from someone elses plate I am satisfied.
Tv - I think we will all find it easier now that the holidays are over. We can all climb back on that wagon together.:D
Melf - How is the construction coming along. Did your db ever show up? It's good to see that you are back down to your pre-holiday weight. And 36 pounds down in one year is great. I know what you mean with all the goodies around the nursing station. I'm glad to say that most of it has gone now.
Rhroo - Way to go on the exercises. I wish I was as ambitious as you. I've been getting lazy lately. Be glad when I can get back to badminton next week.
Busdeb - I hope you will join us back on the SB wagon. We are all here for you if you need a shoulder to lean on. I look forward to seeing pictures of your family - including the four legged members.
Wafra - It looks like you have made a good start with SB - 4 pounds down already in less than a week.
Bye.
Marie.

Well, I had an interesting day. Went to a wrestling tournament. Had no idea what was happening, just that it is not good to be on the bottom. But I did get lots of pictures of the Navy team. Our local high school made the hs finals but I only stayed for the first match. It reminded me of a fencing tournament. Lots going on at the same time and no one to tell you what's going on.
Bob: Hope you make it home okay
Tree: welcome back. I know how hard it is to work when you're miserable. Congrats on the new job. Let us know what you'll be doing.
Zanne: Here in Texas there's not a lot of the brands that everyone talks about. I just look for something similar and read labels for sugar contents. There are several Whole Foods markets, but none close to me, so I'll have to take a day and go exploring.
Sol: I'm sure you won't read this until after the race, but I hope you all had a great time together. Your party sounds fun.
Melf: We started our visit near Plain Dealing and finised it just south of Mansfield. The weather was rainy, but not so terribly cold. I'm glad we didn't get the snow and ice.
It's late here for me and I'm off to bed. Hope everyone has a great day at the marathon tomorrow!

Tree--Welcome Back!!! :)
The group down here in Orlando watching Frog run the marathon went out to dinner tonight and we were remarking that we had not seen you in too long and were afraid that you had left us. So I’m so glad that it was just a temporary thing. And congratulations on the new job.
Fillise and all you other SEC gals-- Yes, Spurrier’s resignations was a huge shock, to everyone including our AD. BOB, you won’t have SOS to hate any more. And, if the truth be told, the SEC will sorely miss ole SOS, who brought a new look to SEC football, and excitement anytime you got to watch his offense on the field. Except for a couple of times (This year at Auburn and at home against UT), the Steve Spurrier offense was almost breathtaking. If anyone watched the Orange Bowl game this year, you will know what I mean. The SEC loses a great coach with his retirement. As I write this, word is already swirling about who our new coach is, and if the rumors are true, it will be in keeping with the Gator tradition this past decade, and the mighty Gators will continue to roll.
One more funny thing--after the news hit the airways on Friday, I had 3 calls right away from people who wanted to know what I thought, and one of the calls was long distance! I guess I am a pretty big Gator fan.
Now for all the news about our SB day here in Orlando. I see SolShine has given lots of information. Our brunch-lunch was fabulous. Let’s see, there was Susan, and Chris (Big Knight’s Mom), Sonya (Sol) and her DH, Deb and Eli, Frog and her DH Bill, and me. We all met at SolShine’s house about 10:30 and stayed there until about 2 pm. We talked a lot and took pictures, compared notes, talked about food and recipes, and Debbie gave us T-shirts that said “Caution, Yield, Walker in the Road”
Eli had bags of Starbucks coffee for us all, and, no, Sol, I think I was the one that got BOB’s coffee!!! Frog had portable water coolers for everyone, so that when we walked we would always have cold water ready to keep us hydrated.
Our menu: Spinach quiche, WW pita, hummus, and cheesecake brought by Debbie.
Sweet potato chips (like potato chips) and cheesecake brought by SolShine.
A veggie tray and deliciously sweet fresh strawberries brought by Big Knight’s Mom.
WW pasta-cheese casserole and a stewed beef dish brought by Susan.
Vegetable terrine with fresh tomato vinaigrette and white bean cassolet with sun dried tomato pesto brought by Gator. You would not have thought anyone was on a special WOE if you did not know anything about Sugar Busters. It was a delicious meal.
We had 10 of us eating dinner together tonight at OutBack Steak House. My DH was able to join us and we all had a great time. We didn’t even have to wait in line to get a table. They fixed one up right away for us.
Sol and her DH and Debbie and Eli are rising bright and early (probably about 4 am.) tomorrow to drive down to Disney and see Rene and Bill off at the beginning of the race. I will be a lazy bum and stay in bed until about 7 and then we will drive over about 8 am. to catch them somewhere on the course. By the time we get there, some of the Kenyans will have probably finished the 26.1 mile race. They will run it in about 2 hours and 10 minutes. Pretty fast for such a long distance. That is a bit less than 5 minute miles.
Well, I think I’m gonna go to bed. I just couldn’t get to sleep, so I got up and typed this to post for y’all to read tomorrow.
We really had a good time and I’m sorry you all don’t live closer so that you could have joined in on the fun. BOB, hurry back to FLA. We miss you down here and could have used your sunny presence here in O-town. Have a safe and not too tiring trip back.

Good morning all! The sun is shining here in Texas and it looks like its going to be a beautiful day. Had rain all day yesterday so stayed indoors and was lazy.
Tree - welcome back. congrats on new job. Its always easier to go to a job that you like, makes life better.
BOB - hope you make it back safely. Looks like DH and I picked a good week to go to SC on our golf trip. We went from Dec 16 - Dec 20th, a week before the weather blew in.
to all those at WDW - sounds like you guys are having fun. Food sounded good to. tell Frog I said good luck. Hope the weather is nice down there.
Have yet to start on an exercise program. The TM keeps calling my name but I just refuse to answer. I will make a gallant effort tonite to walk on it.
Whats everyone's secret on Exercise motivation. I know I should do it, but how do you continue after you start. I usually get bored after a week or so. I have the TM, yoga for golf tape, weight workout tapes.
Well gotta run.

Catlover--I know just what you mean about the exercise. I feel the same way. I have so many irons in the fire that, first of all, it is very hard to even find the time to go out for that walk. I hate to tear myself away from studying my French or whatever. Then, actually, I find that exercise thing very boring. So that makes it hard to get motivated. I know I could walk a couple of miles a day, but just doing it is the hard part. Maybe we could work something out where we were accountable to each other for doing it, or SOMETHING!! Any ideas? Let me know.
Big Orange--More quotes and info on your favorite (former) coach that you love to hate: “He was both a uniter and a divider, beloved by his fans, deplored by everyone else's. Most of all, he was different — a change of pace in a sport that has become a
business in the 30 years between the time Spurrier won the Heisman in 1966 and led the Gators to their national title in 1996.”
"It's going to be different, just because he's Steve and nobody else is like him. And now, all those other teams are going to have to find new reasons to hate us."
There was even an article about an FSU fan who actually regretted seeing SOS leave because the level of ball he brought to the college game.
We are all still waiting to see who the new guy will be. The two names most mentioned are Mike Shanahan of the Denver Broncos and, of course, Bob Stoops.
More about the Marathon:
My DH and I drove out to Disney about 8:30 this morning and expected Frog and her DH, Bill. to be about an hour+ from the finish line by the time we got there at 9:30. Right after we arrived a huge storm pelted the area with torrents of cold rain and wind. We got pretty wet. Then, we couldn’t find Deb or Solshine because of a problem with Deb’s cell phone. The finish line was so packed with people that we could not even begin to get close. So after trying to find a spot for viewing where we could see even a little bit, and milling around for a while, we decided to check out and head back home. I did hear from Debbie later and Frog and Bill were running a little slower than they thought. We think they will finish in about 6 hours instead of the 5 she was hoping for. Last time she ran in that race she did it in 6.5 hours, so this will be an improvement.. Since I didn’t get to talk with them, I am wondering if she froze because of the cold rain. Normally a runner doesn’t get too cold when running in just cold air, because the running keeps you pretty heated up. But the rain may be another matter.
More info about our lunch yesterday. I forget to mention that Debbie brought a very good zucchini bread that we also had as part of our meal. I hope I didn’t forget anything else.
I am typing all this on my word program because I found out something about our “reply” board. If you change ANYTHING in the format while you are typing, for example, if you resize the page, or if your attachment at the bottom of the page is something that the 3FC program doesn’t like and you have to use another one instead, then you lose everything you have typed. I started a post and had just typed a couple of lines and went to resize my page and lost all my post. So, be forewarned.

To all my SEC Sugar Buster friends and sports fans, including Big Orange and Fillise, Fruitloupe, etc. here is a fascinating read about Spurrier and the other SEC teams that I think you will find amusing and also true. Enjoy!

Good Morning....or afternoon I should say! I'm alive and well, enjoying the beautiful day we are having!
Hope everyone has a great time on getting together in Florida...better not forget cameras and take plenty of mug shots to share with the rest of us!!!
Dan the Man and I went out to dinner last night and then to a movie. One of those miracle nights when both kids spent the night a friends.
I was watching the "Food Network" yesterday and they had an incredible cooking show in Morroco (sp?) DEB!!!! I couldn't help think about you and Eli and the chicken he made all of us, and found my recipes I had copied out of your cookbook, and was ready to prepare a feast! They cooked a recipe on the show for "Chicken Tangine with Loives and Preserved Lemons" that looked soooooo good. I went to my Moms and picked a gob of lemons, and am ready to roll!
Sef- Thanks for the warm welcome back. You are doing GREAT with your weight. Congrats for being on the board for a year....you are so close to goal! That's wonderful!
Yikes.....I have to go retrieve Nadia from a slumber-party....The Dad said they were up ALL NIGHT, so I'm sure she'll be a walking Zombie today!
Check in later!!!! Love to all, Nancy

Hi gals,
I am new to this folder - but have been posting elsewhere for over a year. I love this WOE - it works well for me! As you can see, I'm another Floridian! We live in a retirement development of 600 families and love it here. Been in this state 30 years but we hail from NJ. I lead a support group for SB in our clubhouse on Saturday mornings. One of the gals raised a question about cooking with tofu - which I have never done. Is there a better brand? Do you know where I can find recipes that include tofu???:?:

Hi Everyone, sounds like you FLA GALS had a blast yesterday. Sorry to hear that the day did not work out today with the nasty weather finally getting your way. Hope Frog & Mr. Frog were able to finish the race without getting sick. Sounds like they'll have a heck of a time getting back home as well with the weather.
DH got our tree down yesterday while I was at work, bless his heart. I hate to have to take it down. It's such a chore. Anyway, now all I need to do is get the rest of the decorations that he missed.
Having Chilly Chili Night at church tonight, so I made my Lentil Chili & a Chocolate CheeseCake with the Special K crust to bring. Smells so good in here that I'm tempted to eat BEFORE I leave with it :D
Was up a lb today on the scale. This yoyo drives me crazy. I'll go down a couple of lbs then all of a sudden I'll go up again. Oh well, I guess maybe if I could get back into exercising & drinking enough water I would do better, you think? But after I'm so beat from work I just don't have the energy. Yesterday was like a mad house. I worked a 12 hr shift with hardly a bathroom break, let only have time to eat lunch or drink even a cup of coffee, & I'm up a lb instead of down? Go figure.
Well, enough complaining. Sorry about that. Just came to say hello. See ya! 174/139/135

Good Evening everyone!
Well just got through with dinner. This is the first time I've used the WW pasta (we had spaghetti). Amazingly enough the family liked it!! After all the negative comments on the looks of the pasta in the box (ewwww it's brown):p I am quite pleased.
Went down to Whole foods today and was able to get 3 bottles of the agave syrup. I do some baking and would like to have that on hand. I have never baked using splenda or any of the other substitute sweetners. I've been downloading recipes from the files.
Catlover & Gatorgal I know exactly what you mean about exercising. It takes every ounce of will power for me to get on the treadmill. Even with the TV there, I can't really hear it over the treadmill. I do however go to Tae Kwondo 3 nights a week. I just started last week and boy is it a workout. My daughter was not to pleased I joined (she's a green belt) thinking Mom would cramp her style. I pretty much ignored her and talked with one of the other Moms that was there and joined with me.
I hope I have as good a week next week weight wise as last week. I am down 4 pounds. Have a great week everyone!

HiedieHo all!
I guess I've been AWOL longer than I thought, quite a job catching up with all the posts. I guess now that holidays are over we all are ready to get back to normal.
My dd made it home safely, actually made better time than I thought she would, Did stop off in Gatlinburg and Atlanta for her Hard Rock pins too.
Weather here has been damp and miserbale so I have been too. Par for the couse though.
ZANNE - You are so right! Shop and have SB foods available and there is less temptation. Glad to read that you are back to pre-Christmas numbers. My daredevil cookies were not successful in their attempt to jump PAST my mouth, poor things lost their lives trying!!! I never heard of tzatziki, maybe a recipe you should post if it's so yummy. Always looking for something new.
FILLISE - You're right about what 5' of snow would do to us. Friday night I went with some friemds to a choir concert (it was cancelled when we got there, bus broke down) everyone had on coats and layered clothing, one lady had her head wrapped in a woolen scarf....and there I was in a long sleeved top!!!! I guess my blood hasn't thinned yet!!!! Since we were all dressed up with no place to go since cancellation, we went to a coffee shop and had a good time chatting and drinking.
PRAVDA - I can't answer for others, but I knew that the things prescribed by SB were proven facts (read any article on dieting and they'll tell you whole grains, no sugar, low fat etc are better for you). It was just a matter of being willing to accept the fact and adopt the woe. I have never felt deprived (well maybe a little when it comes to mashed potatoes!!) and have never felt hungry because there wasn't enough to eat. I think, like so many other things, it's all in our mind. Get the mind set and the rest is easy!
CAT - It's alwayus the extras that get us! We can be good with the veggies, proteins and then some little thing makes us over indulge in it. We can have triscuits and peanut butter so why not? I know, I have done the same thing!
Exercise is the hardest thing for me. I know I should, but have a hard time sticking to it. I do pretty well with the Body Recall, but know I should get out and walk. I used to walk regularly in Milford and enjoyed it. Here it seems too hot and humid. Although what my excuse is in the weather we have been having lately I don't know!!!
WA - WTG on 4# loss! I find that on this woe that eating out isn't all that hard. When I first started I went to Olive Garden with some friends and couldn't find anything except salad I could have, and then they didn't have diet dressing. I think now that I know more about SB foods I could probably find something on the menu there.
FROG - Have been thinking of you. Read the posts onm the O town bash. Hope you didn't catch pneumonia in rain!
DEB - Sounds like you all had a wonderful time, a great get together with what sounds like entirely too much food even if it was SB legal! Liked your Fun Friday post. I think Story Board might be interesting for us.
BUS - I've learned that posting really helps whether I'm having a bad time or not. It seems the bad gets worse without a post. Mainly because of the support we get here, but also when you write things out it helps me put them in perspective.
RHROO - Of course we'll miss you!!!!!
MELF - have missed our chats. I remember when I was working, we often has a lot of black humor when we were over worked. Thank God the families didn't know what we would say to each other. Head traumas were seasonal, Christmas, New Years, prom time always had more accidents, presumably due to excessive drinking that goes on at those times. It's no joke!!
Congrats on 1 year Board anniversary. 36# is great.
Friday I took my decorations down, seems like fun to put them up, chore to take them down!!
I've learned to take something SB legal to church dinners too, or else go without and God forbid I should go without!!!!!!
JMUIR - Hope by now you have cleared those cabinets of non SB foods!! We don't need temptations, although they are easier to resist as we go along on this woe!
BOB - I think you really enjoyed being snowbound!! Seems you really had fun and really didn't care if you were stranded!!
TV - You have reminded me of pita pizzas! I usually make chips out of them! But love the pizzas. Right now I am on an apple kick too. Just trying to keep the doctor away I guess!
SHEANN - No use denying it, you will miss certain things, but as you go along it's really not such a hardship. I do cooking for family and they love mashed potatoes, my favorte. At first it really bothered me to fix them, but now I shrug my shoulders over it. Yet I know if I licked the spoon I'd probably be lost!!
Posting helps because we are all in the same boat and can understand. It helps when someone reminds us that we can do it, have to look at our goals.
MEL - Your dd is smart, tuna fish is good for her. Better than some other things she might have wanted to take along. She's making good choices, we probably didn't at her age. Maybe she won't have to face a weight problem. Let's hope so.
TREE - WRINKLE FOOD!?! Then how come as the weight goes down the wrinkles pop up? Before I had all that fat that plumped out my face and it was wrinkle free, now I look like I have a road map for a face. On my arms we can play connect the dots with my liver spots!
Glad another job popped up when you quit old one. Sometimes we have to make a decision such as you made. if you're not happy in your work it can cause so much stress in your life.
SOL - Sounds like you all had entirely too much fun. Glad you're sharing the story so we can all live vicariously.
ROSALIE - Your dinner menu sounded so good. It should reassure the newcomers that there is no need to stint when preparing a meal.
J - I never cared much for wrestling. I can remember when my grandparents were addicted to it in the days of Gorgeous George and Hat Pin Mary on TV! In Milford there was great interest because the neighboring town of Port Jervis, NY had two brothers who were Olympians and medal winners in that sport.
GATOR - I think you were trying to make us all hungry with the menu of the Otown revelers!!
NANCE - Thanx for the nice words. You do add so much to the Board.
NOMORE - Welcome. Where in NJ did you hail from? Although Milford. PA was my home for almost 40 years, I was born and raiswed in NJ. How great that you have a support group for SB in your community, it must be such a help to stao OP.
I think I have caught up with all the back posts!! Quite a fet if I do say so myself. Nice that we are all back.
Take care. sef

Thanks for the warm welcome back. You guys are great!
My new job is still at a fertility clinic, which is great. I thought I would have to leave the field! I'm still working at the old place for awhile (you know, "giving notice" and all that). I've become a persona non grata already with the management. Luckily, the rest of the staff are supportive and great friends to boot. I will miss them.
Sounds like you all have been having lots of fun while I've been gone! ;)
Welcome to the Newbies! This is a great site, very supportive and informative.
I must say I've cheated a bit since the holidays. As for the exercise, what exercise?! Amazingly enough, just with the SB WOE I've kept the lost weight off. Now it's time to lose the next 16#, so I need to get on the TM too!
Well, gotta go, DH is wondering where I got to.

Went to the Health Food Store today to look for some agave nectar. They didn't have any. I did find something that looks interesting. I found a hot cereal called "Brown Rice Cream". It's like Cream of Wheat but it is Brown Rice and it has "0" sugars. I don't know how it is yet, but I'll let you know.
I found a recipie on the recipie board for "hummus" and so I bought the ingredients to make that and some ww pitas and tortillas.
Thanks everyone for the kind welcome.
