WW Clubs and Groups - Night Owls ~~ #30 ~~ Happy New Year!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I know I am a little early - but in case I don't get here I wanted to wish you all a great new year!!
Drive safe, be careful and have a BLAST!!!
We are just going to my sisters for a small party - its 4 couples and we eat, play games and watch the ball drop - it wouldn't be New Years Eve without Dick Clark!!
Whatever you are all doing - have a good time!! If you are drinking please do NOT drive.
We aren't big drinkers - so we drive home shortly after the ball drops - and we are very careful (its a 15 minute ride).
Gotta run...I am feeling like I am getting a cold - I BETTER NOT BE!
Tara :smug:
OOPS!!!! I posted on the last thread. Didn't see the new one.
Hope you have a very Happy New Years Eve too Tara. For the first time in many, many years.......Bill and I are staying home !! We've had waaaay too much fun over the Holidays ;) and will be ordering take out and snuggling in with a good movie and our six year old son, Billy. Jackie is being a nanny until the 1st with some neighbors who went to Orlando. She's been gone since the day after Christmas. I miss her something fierce! Our first New Years Eve apart in 13 years. My baby isn't a baby anymore.
Enjoy and that's a big ditto for me with the BE SAFE AND DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!! It's not worth it. Have a designated driver or TAKE A CAB!!!!!

Great Pictures Judy! Why does it say to click on your picture to go to your website and then it does nothing??????
Candice - When I clicked the picture....it DID go to it. Hmmmmm, maybe something on your end? Just thought I'd let you know.
Happy New Year everyone. Sounds so strange. 2002....still can't believe we're in the 21st century! and I'm getting O.L.D.E.R.....brrrrrr......runs a chill right down my spine. By the way, we ARE having lousy weather the past two days...lots of rain and cold at night. Florida is starting WINTER it seems. Hope you're all having fun on your vacation's.....Bill started back at work today. It was so nice having him home for 10 days. Oh well, back to reality.
I'm back on program. FINALLY! Can't say I regret falling off though..... as I haven't gained anything. Probably because of all the exercise I was getting at the stables this week while Deb was in Boston. It's alot of work taking care of 6 horses by yourself but I enjoyed it too. It was WAAAAAY too much fun eating all those wonderful holiday goodies as well! Thank goodness it comes once a year or I WOULD be right back to where I started with my weight. I know it's not proper protocol for a WW to eat pretty much what they want over the Holidays but hey! If I had the choice of going to two parties...one that had all WW food and veggie platters and the other had all the usual Holiday cookies and meats and blah, blah, blah........I'd DEFINITELY go to the USUAL one. ;) Sorry, it's just me...I know it's not right if I want to lose but then I knew I wouldn't lose anything and planned on getting back on track Jan. 1st. which I have done. Sooooo, here's to all of us getting where we want to be "body-wise" in the year 2002!!!!
"See" you all later,
Hugs,

Thanks for the compliments, you guys. The link will probably change though because she is adding a lot of pictures of the family. So, don't worry if you can't find me.
I also have started this year OP. It feels so great to say it. It makes me feel in control. It's a nice feeling, huh? There is very little I have control of these day, concerning Steve's health and the disability issues (let's not go there), but I CAN control what goes in my mouth, eh?
Have a great day everyone.
Love,
Judy
Hello ladies :)
Well I think I officially have a cold! I am feeling heavy in the head - if that makes sense. And I am sneezing - I just hope it doesn't travel to my chest - that isn't good with my asthma. I am taking my inhalers like crazy though!! It helps.
I went to WW last nite and lost 2.2lbs!! I was quite excited - to say the least. So I evened out from last weeks 2lb gain. I am so happy that I didn't gain anything over the holidays - YEAH for me!!
PJ - December is just a tough time of the year to be 100% OP. I did the best I could and came out well - thank god! Sounds like you did too - good for you :) January is here and I have a new 12 week journal to start off the year. Tracking is key for me!!
Judy - Being in control of food is the BEST FEELING! I totally agree. You sure can control what you eat - I feel that way too. I will keep checking that link - I want to see some updates!!
Well I should get some tea in me - I need some hot stuff to make me feel better. It helps!!
Have a great day ladies :)

Hi again, :)
Can't believe that I'm actually here twice. Just got back from a rescue squad call:( but at least it wasn't a bad one.
I'm really hoping that I can come here every day (at least once) to get back into being with friends that I haven't been in contact with in some time.
Hope everyone is having a geat day, right now I'm watching the Green Bay Packers ....can't wait until NASCAR starts up again.

Tara great job on the loss!
Julie welcome back...now lets see if we can get back all the rest of the owls and get this thread hopping again! Now that the holidays are over I am ready to recommit to the program with no excuses!
Candice nice pic of you and mom! How much weight have you lost total?
Hi Judy, PJ, Brenda, Setina and everyone else out there! Come out and play again!

Happy New Year Nightowls!!!
I am trying to get back on Program and need some help. In the past I go to meetings and do very well for a few weeks...then either my work or DH's or kids obligations start getting in the way of my making time for the meetings.and I let it!! So I do realize that THAT part is MY problem. However as most Moms do I put myself last and I know that I shouldn't. I have been on the WW site lately and am considering doing the WW ONLINE. Have any of you tried that? Weight Watcher ..what do you as a leader know about it? The meetings won't support me if I don't go.... But I am on the computer daily. I must say that I am so glad to see that the WW Message Board is greatly improved and there seems to be a lot of activity there... I keep remembering reading posts that the etools didn't work very well and I don't want to pay for something that is only going to be up and working part time....
Great to see you Weight Watcher and you too TARA!!! And Candice I love the pic of you and your MOM...you both look great and you will still look great in 30 years if how your Mom looks is any indication....
PJ...How is it going at the barn these days and is Jackie back from her babysitting trip?!?!?!
I'm with you guys...COme on out Owls!! I am here and so should you!! LOL!!

Good morning and Happy Monday to everyone!!!
How way everyone's weekend? It was a busy one for me but what else is new.
I would love to help anyone who wants help with their weight loss. I really do know how difficult it is and sometimes giving up was all I could think about.
I'm so happy to back on the threads;)
Have a great Monday everyone.

Hi Emmy,
I hate to say this but I don't know to much about the e-tools on line from the WW site. From what I understood is that members can go there and get support and get if for free but sooner or later they will be charged on line. Guess that made me feel bitter, after all, why should members who are paying for meetings have to pay online also. That is just my thoughts.
I will certainly help you out if you want me to. I have been a leader since 1993 and I have been through it all
:)
The WW meetings are so beneficial, I certainly do understand that by putting the family first can make us put ourselves last. I still do that at times, with a husband and two kids in sports my life can get very hectic and even as a leader, sometimes I would just like to say, forget this.
Being online here and using the recipes that are also found at 3fatchicks can really help.
Have a good one.
Julie
I LOVE this cold weather! But my body is telling me otherwise ..... so Candice ... I certainly sympathize with you since my bones are screaming as well. ;) The picture of you and your Mother is great and I agree with Emmy....your Mother is beautiful so I don't think you have anything to worry about in that department. Lately, I've been grinding FLAX SEED in the blender and making a "shake" with it. There are alot of the Omega vitamins in Flax Seed that everyone needs but especially those of us with Fibro. It seems to be helping alot with my joints and that's a biggy for me with the cold. Don't laugh, but I buy the 25 pd. bag of the seeds for my horse. I grind it up and put about one cup per day in her feed and it helps her joints as well as giving her a very shiny coat and strong hooves and yep....I give it to my dog and cat and bird too. So.....it's good for us all. Hey! We're all mammals and I could definitely be put in the "dog" category at times. :p
Judy - How is Steve doing with the cold weather. Why not TRY the flax seed. It's worth a shot. Sounds like you're off to a great start with WW for 2002! I loved the picture of you with your chin on your hand. You're BEAUTIFUL Judy!!!!!! The other picture that has you standing in your back yard with the blue dress on doesn't show your face as well and you look like a kid for Pete's sakes!!!! I think I'm going to make up a youth creme....show a picture of you and I'll split the profits 50/50....what do ya say Judy...huh????? :^:
Julie - How awesome to have you back here with us....I for one, can use all the help I can get and to have a leader amongst us is a real plus. I'm sure we could all chew your ear off every once in a while. Thanks so much for coming back....and lucky you with the new computer. I'm in dire (sp?) need of one but I'll have to wait until we're settled after the move. I'm not taking all of this stuff apart ....put a new one in......take IT apart and then put it back together again when we're moved. PHewwww..makes me tired just reading that!!!! Heh-heh.
Emmy - I wasn't consistent with going to my meetings so it became a waste of money for me. There weren't any leaders I cared for at the times I could go either and the one group AND leader that I really clicked with were at an impossible time with my crazy schedule. So......I get all the support I need right here. Sometimes I'll surf around the other threads on here just to see what others are saying and doing but I'm a dedicated NIGHT OWL and this is where I post.....wether I've been ON program or OFF. By the way.....I weigh myself ONCE A MONTH and I'm happy to say I've lost 4 pounds. Nothing earth shattering but four pounds is four pounds and I'll take it any way I can. :smug:
Well ladies....I've got to get to the barn....just got a call and they need help loading up two horses onto a trailer. Boy...what would they do without me.....?????!!!!! Can't wait until I'm living on the property....it will make things sooooooo much easier for me. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Have a great day everyone!
Hugs,
~Pamela~
Howdy!
Well we dodged that big storm - and got only rain! I was mighty happy about that :) :) :)
I think I have a sinus infections girls. I have never had one - and my head has been pounding off and on for a few days. And my eyes are sore, etc. People are telling me its a sinus infection - so I called my doctor today. I am going in tomorrow afternoon. I just want to feel better! I haven't been feeling "right" for a week and a half - so its gotta be something. Anyone ever have one? I just know this pain is unlike anything I have ever felt before - so who knows!
Candice - You post the nicest pics! That pic of your and your mother is so nice. You both look so young - it must run in the family! Stay warm so you feel ok!!
Emmy - Good to see you here girl - and hey you know taking some time to take care of YOU is a good thing. You need to schedule it more often - the boys will be ok without ya!! They are getting older now and just tell them mommy needs ME time to be a nicer mommy!! LOL Re-join WW and if that is the only time you have to yourself - it will be worth it. We are here for ya!!
Julie - Yeah that you are back!! I am so happy :) I am sure you are loving that new computer of yours too!
PJ - I guess horse raising is your calling - huh girl!! Did Jackie have fun babysitting over New Years? She sure is getting older - imagine that! When is the big move - next year did you say?
Well I need to go and tidy up my desk before I head home - I think its flurrying out there now. Fun fun!

Well ladies how did today go? Mine was hectic and busy and it isn't over yet.
Emmy, that 4 pounds that you lost, good for you. That is one great step in the right direction.
I guess I need to get up to speed here, how many of you or are all of you using WW's? Guess you can see that I'm getting old:)
Have a good one.
Remember: what's important is not necessarily where you are but in what direction you are going

Hi Everyone,
Just a quickie to let you all know I am still alive. I have not been feeling well for quite awhile now and my step sister in law has brain cancer. She allready had breast cancer twice and has had both her breasts removed. Anyway, I am just not on much because of everything that is going on. I am still thinking of you all though. WW has been going well.
Later
Bren
Hey!!!! WeightWatcher Julie!!!

I will be back later but right now I gotta run out to the mall or somewhere .....need a new outfit..will tell ya'll WHY when I get back...
emmy:smug:
Oh BREN!!! Your post was not on there when I posted a min ago...I am so sorry to hear about your step sister in law. Cancer is a terrible illness. Do they think there is anything that can be done? I just talked to a guy today whose mother has a tumor and unfortunately due to the type and location there is nothing they can do...so sad....You both will be in my prayers....
Come back to us when you can.
Take care

Good morning everyone,
Oh Bren, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. I will certainly keep her in my prayers.
Candice (did I spell that right:) 55 lbs is just wonderful. I bet you are feel much better also.
Well, I'm off to Green Bay today to start a new WW meeting and then back home to get to my daughter's basketball game, I just thank goodness that it is a home game.
Anyone out there have any snow? If you do please send some to Wisconsin, my daughter really wants to get out on her snowmobile and she is driving me nuts:dizzy:
Have a great day.

Good morning!
I am back again...I rejoined WW last night and I am having a very successful day. I had a 3 point breakfast and I have my 6 point lunch screaming my name right now! When I finish typing this I am going to lunch!
My goal for the next month is to drink my water and journal every day. Journaling keeps me aware of what has been put into my mouth. I am also going to stay at each of my meetings. When I lost the 97 lbs in 10 months I did all of these things...and if I did it once...I can do it again! After the month is over then I will work on my weak points....(notice I didn't include exercise in there?) REmember when I was so gung ho about walking and did 3 miles every day and couldn't stand NOT to walk? I just wish I could get back there again!! I hate exercise right now!!
Ok...enough babbling from me!
Julie...I'm glad you are here with us! We can pick your brain when we are having problems....my biggest problem is keeping the motivation going!
Brenda....sorry about your SIL...Hope things are going good for you otherwise!
Candice...great JOB on the 95 lbs total gone! Doesn't it feel great? How long did it take you to lose it all? You look great!
Emmy you will be able to take credit for the 4 lbs soon...just keep at it!!
Tara...hope you are feeling better soon! What did the doctor do for you?
PJ where are you? And Setina and Judy and everyone else!!
Gotta run...have more work to do! Have a great OP day!
