LA Weight Loss - Labor Day Challenge Status

Lets not forget about the Labor Day Challenge we signed up for. We now have 3 weeks :eek: to get our butts in gear to meet our goal. :jig:
My goal was 16 pounds and I am down 9 of that with 7 to go. :encore: Please provide your Goal, current stats, maybe how you plan to meet that goal or if you need to adjust it. This might keep us focused.
I think mine is still obtainable. I am currently doing TO and have shown continuous loss since being moved to plan 2, last week. :carrot:

Kimberly - It's not too late at all...we just started this as an extra motivational tool!
My goal was 20 pounds and I have 8.6 to go. We actually have 3 weeks until Labor Day, right? So 8.6 may be pushing it, but I'll give it a shot anyway.

I am still here plugging along (sort of)... I had my very first VERY off program weekend and I feel like cr*p! It's amazing how good "good for you" food can make you feel...I am back at it this morning and roaring to go.

I've lost 9 of the 25 I was shooting for. Don't think I'll ever make 16 lbs in 3 weeks but maybe 1/2 way? I had been having some good 3lb losses and then my plan changed + I believe I hit a bit of a plateau so my goal was a little stretch. I'm still giving it the ole college try though:)

Only 3 weeks left? :o I don't think I'll be losing 14.2 pounds in that time, but I'll do my best to stay POP for the next 3 weeks... ;)

Is it too late to join? I know we only have 3 wks b4 Labor Day but I'd like to use this as a motivator. I'm just restarting this week. I have to be realistic so if I can lose 5lbs by then I'd be happy and then I'll go from there.

If its ok, I would like to start too. I think I will shoot for 6 lbs. Question: do you go by what your scales at home read or what the scales at the COD read?

I alwaays go by what the scales at the COD say. But I guess thats because my scale here at home is messed up and always tell me a different weight...

If no one objects, I will take on this challenge as well. May be it will be the kick in the arse that I need. Sign me up for 5 pounds by Labor Day. I have had some modifications made to my plan so I need to keep a careful eye on what I am doing! I have been a terrible cheater as of late - so I will use this to keep me accountable.

Count me in too. I am just finishing my second day of take off and I haven't WI since last Thursday, I only go once a week, so I will go with my weight at my last WI which was 151.8. My goal is to lose 6 lbs.

Welcome Ladies. It doesn't matter which scale you use. I like mine at home because I can weigh in the morning before eating or drinking anything and before clothes, so it is always about 1 to 1.5 pounds less than the COD. Just be sure to use the information from the same scale.

Thanks Tina. Unfortunately I am not very photogenic. That is about the 10th pic I took and just couldn't get the hair to come in the way I wanted it to. I think I probably need to get someone else to do it for me. But that will do for now. Just wanted you guys to see the real me. :o)

AMY! You look like a completely different person! When was your old avatar photo taken, I mean at what point in your weight loss? The change is very dramatic!

Thanks Katy. That pic was taken about Christmas 2004 (maybe 2003) before I really needed to do WL. I gained about 10 to 15 pounds after that (175) so had to do something. I havent been this thin in probably close to 10 years. It feels great. I hope this helps motivate everyone. If I can do it, you can and it is well worth it.

three weeks left? uggh, I am only halfway to my 25lb goal. The past two weeks have really slowed things down. I think I can pull off 8 more lbs! I'm glad I was reminded of how little time we have left. Labor day seemed so far at the time! This is good motivation!

AK: Just set yourself a goal weight to lose by Labor day. We started this challenge after the 4th of July. Most of us are currently about 1/2 way there. It is just an extra incinative to stay on track.

Well I went for my weekly WI and I was down 2.4 lbs. Whopeeeeee!!!!! I am finally in the 140's I thought I would never see that again!!!! Hope everyone is doing good. Have a good night.

Hi girls! I may have to adjust my goal :?: I had a BAD week. I gained half a pound, and then by the end of the week I managed to get it back off, so I lost NO weight last week. I have tried very hard to stay on plan since Wednesday. Hopefully my WI tomorrow shows some results. I am getting ready to choke down some Hot Lemon water. I think I have been retaining H2O because our air conditioner is BROKE at work, so we have been sitting in 89º weather!

I've got 6.4 to go...not gonna happen, I'm sure, but I'm not going to beat myself up because I was optimistic by setting my goal at 20 pounds.

Tina, you are doing SO well! You are going to get very close. I still have another 10lbs, but like you, I was optimistic at 25lbs. The last three lbs took forever to come off, so I'm aiming for 5 more by labor day....

Still plugging along. Like most of you I think I was a little unrealistic on my goal setting but hey, if I can get at least halfway there. BNWI this am at home showed me down another 3 but I was going to wait until my official at the COD on Friday to post. Didn't have an official last week.

O.K., I'm switching my official WI to what my scale at home says. I can do a BNWI there and it gets me closer to goal. Changing my ticker to that also.
Tina you can still do it. Don't give up. Focus on the "high fiber" foods and the light meat. OMG I sound like a COD Counselor. LOL

LOL, Amy thats exactly what my COD just told me the other day. I have been on TO yesterday and today, due to a "plateau"! I feel like I may have lost some but I dont WI again til Friday and my scale here at home is broken... Aghhh, Nerves!!:dizzy:

You do sound like a counselor, Amy...actually better than most counselors, unfortunately :( I'm not giving up, though! I'm just not going to be disappointed in myself if I don't hit it. I'm still trying to "retrain" my mind into being happy with what I have achieved so far. Most times, or I should say in the past, I would step on the scale, be up 0.4 pounds and say "forget it...I'm a failure"! But not anymore:)

You are not a failure Tina. You are an INSPIRATION!!! and don't you forget it. If we don't make goal that is o.k. We set a goal aimed for it and got as far as we could. We will just add it to the (Whats next, Thanksgiving?) next goal!
BTW you can use that line....
"I am an INSPIRATION and people ADMIRE me". ...

My WI today at COD was 145.6. I can't believe it. I am so excited. I may make the LaborDay Challenge Goal yet.

Well I was dreading my WI this morning because of course it is that TOM and I thought for sure I would be up. Pleasantly surprised I was down .4 so that makes may weight 149.0, I didn't change my ticker yet because it wouldn't show any difference yet and that would just depress me. 7 Days and Counting Down!
At my last WI (8/22) I was 5 pounds from Labor Day Goal. I have been doing to the No Scale Challenge since that date to help motiviate myself to be serious (no cheats) so I do'nt know how close I am to goal, but I think I will make it. My plan is to stay off the scale until Labor Day morning and then post the results.

Amy - you're only 9 pounds away and I KNOW you were being optimistic with 25 pounds because my goal was 20 and that was being optimistic.

Thanks Tina, you are right, we have all done well! At the time I made my goal I was still losing over 3lbs per week....things have definitely slowed down!
On Tues I think I will start a 7 day POP challenge thread....I really need to stop picking at food I can't have...it adds up!

Hi girls. I dont get to weigh in until Wednesday, at COD. But I sit with an elderly lady on Tuesdays and they have a couple of scales so I will use them. Usually they are right on what COD has told me so I will post my weight tomorrow after I return from her house! I know it was only 7 lbs, but I joined 3 weeks ago, so I guess that was a pretty decent goal, considering the 2 lbs per week rule! I am really looking forward to getting to 244, thats when I can go down to plan #4!! YAY!

Good luck Kimberly, you'll be there before you know it. Sometimes they let you move when you get within a lb or two...some counselors don't mind and others hold you to the exact weight. I'm betting you make your labor day goal as well:)

I think I am going to set another goal. It seems as if I strive a little harder when working towards a specific weight instead of looking at all the weight as a whole. I think I am going to try for 12 lbs by Columbus day. (10/8)

Wow, so after not stepping on the scale since last tuesday I almost screamed for joy when I saw 249 staring back at me...only 4lbs from my labor day goal of 25lbs!! BUT I then realized that my home scale is usually 1.5-2lbs lower than COD and my ticker is according to COD, so I'm not ready to change it yet....but I was definitely happy to not see anything in the 250s staring back at me! Too bad COD is not open today....I really want to change that ticker!
Congrats to everyone who has lost in this challenge! If I'm at 251 that means I have 6lbs, which is definitely attainable for columbus day. I'd really like to start a 7 day POP challenge for myself in addition. Anyone interested?

Well since some of you are going to wait until Wednesday to post your Labor Day results I will put it off another day also. I am up from my last WI and wanted to try to recover some of that today. I ate like a PIG yesterday. I should have weighed yesterday morning, but was pushing myself to stay off the scale. Not a good move for me. :(

Well, WI this morning had me at the same weight as Friday...which I am happy with. Not exactly a POP weekend! So I'm ending the Labor Day Challenge at 148.4. 15.2 pounds gone...4.8 pounds from Labor Day goal!!!

Well I didn't even come close to my goal. Only lost 3 lbs. But I guess that isn't bad considering I could have gone up. I just seem to fluctuate at every step. GRRR!! I will meet the next challenge.

So my official COD W/I was higher than I was hoping....252(and a little extra I'm ignoring) That's 18lbs since the 4th of July... still 7lbs away from my Labor Day Goal. I'm rolling that over to the Columbus day goal....
