Hello girls...

Just a quicky from me as I am tired. We just spent the day up Bohemia Mountain and did some hiking. It was a gorgeous day and perfect weather...not too hot, and not cold at all.

I have photos so I'll share some when I get a chance to upload to photobucket.

For now, I'm going to take a nap.

But before I go.....Big hug to Jules! Missed ya!!

I'll catch up later.

08-13-2007, 12:11 AM
Good night ladies....Quick check in to say hi. I did 5 miles riding today and a 1 mile WATP plus the stepper. WI tomorrow....ugh!

Tammy- Thanks for the "Bikerchick" moniker....I am even getting ready to set up a blog with that title. It just really made me smile when you mentioned it.

I am going to try to figure out the blog thing so I can write there when I feel the need to talk more. :)

08-13-2007, 01:58 AM
how did we go from 262 to 267?

Nothing new on this end.....just hung around the house and did some stuff around here. trying to think of what is coming this week....but I can't think of anything big. Oh. my sister is getting married on Tuesday.. and then we go on Saturday to their wedding reception/open house/our niece's birthday party on Saturday. Before that we go to another friend's wedding shower...and I think that is it.

08-13-2007, 03:35 AM
how did we go from 262 to 267?

Oops. That was because I was tired. :o

All fixed!! Thanks Mindee!

08-13-2007, 03:56 AM
Marti~ I just read my post, and I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. If it came across that way, I am sorry. I have had plenty of days when I was tired and tried to type something and my fingers didn't want to cooperate with me.

I forgot to mention, Sunday morning I got a rude awakening. I was just getting ready to get Marissa out of her bed and feed her, when Brandon decided that he was going to throw a fit. I didn't move fast enough, and he kicked me in my eye. It feels like my left eye is sunk in kind of, but hey at least I can still see....thankfully he had socks on, so his toes were covered. (he tends to have long toe nails since he won't let me cut them that often)

08-13-2007, 10:57 AM
Not a problem Mindee...I didn't think you were rude at all! So once again thank you.

I got up early 6:15, getting ready for our hike on Diamond Peak.

It's definitely an all day hike so........that's what I'll be doing today.

Crazy eh?

I'll tell ya all about it when we get back. You all have a great Monday.

Hugs to all!

08-13-2007, 11:22 AM
Happy Monday morning to all. I hope it is sunny in your neck of the woods. It is nice and breezy here, but still plenty warm. Just not as humid, thank goodness. I rode 2 miles and came in for a breakfast of cereal with skim milk and a bowl of watermelon.
WI was the SAME. Un-real.
Going to see if I can figure out the blog thing.

08-13-2007, 02:08 PM
Just saying hello. I've had the stomach flu, and although I'm better, I still feel fairly gnarly. I'll be back whenever. Hugs!

08-13-2007, 08:28 PM
Jane--sorry you are feeling bad :(!! I want you to know how much I appreciated your call. With all the stresses lately I have gained. I need to post for the accountability because when I don't I gain. I have gotten back into drinking soda again and that is one of my major downfalls. I had built up my water drinking to 8 to 10 glasses of water and now I am lucky if I drink one 16 oz. I should know by now that if I don't drink the water I don't keep the weight off.

Sue--good luck with the blog--wtg on all the good eating and bike riding--I know it's frustrating when the scale doesn't move but I bet your energy level is improving!!

Marti--good luck with the hike, when the weather cools down a little and humidity is lower hubby and I are talking about doing walks/hikes every Saturday again like we used to when the kids were younger. Gotta build up our energy for the grandboy!!

Mindee--OUCH!! It was a battle to cut Ryan's toenails, Teri chewed hers like her fingernails.

Hi to everyone else!!

08-13-2007, 11:20 PM
I rode 5 miles but food was not good at all. I kinda got a bad attitude when the scales didn't move. Ate a brownie and some Pringles...ugh! Okay, tonight I slapped myself around a little gave myself a pep talk and I am ready to get back to gettin' back.
I didn't do WATP or the stepper, but tomorrow is another day...and I am feeling better.

08-14-2007, 01:27 AM
I forgot to mention the other day, that we weighed Marissa on my mom's baby scale. She was 13 pounds 2.5 ounces on Saturday.

Jane~ I hope you feel better soon!

Marti~ I can't wait to hear how your hike went!

Sue~ Great job on the riding! I had fruit for breakfast with the kids Monday morning as well.

Jules~ Brandon will let me cut his toe nails now, before he used to chew them. Logan is a struggle to trim his toe nails, it usually takes me holding him in my lap with Tommy helping me by holding either his upper body so he won't hit me or his lower body so he won't kick me while I trim his finger nails. BUT....if I sing "where is thumbkin?" while I cut their nails, they won't give me a hassle.

08-14-2007, 03:20 AM
Hello ladies....

I thought I would pop in before heading off to bed. The hike was amazing....but I started to feel bad before we even started. (doesn't help that TOM is here....always during vacation right?) Started to get a little headachey.... we hiked for 2hrs to get to this secluded lake to swim. Stayed there for an hour or so.....I started to get really nauseous and had to get out of the water and my head started to throb like mad.

We had a 2hr hike back to the truck and let me tell ya....the first three miles went rather quickly, but that last mile was the loooooongest mile I've ever walked. My poor hubby was so worried about me but I kept walking, maybe stopped here and there for a minute but just wanted to get to the truck. Boy was I happy to see it when we finally got to it. The road to get to the trails was so bumpy.....that it just made me feel worse. And by the time I got home....I got sick. Just couldn't hold it in any longer. How I managed to keep it in all those hours....I don't even know. But after that and a nap, I feel much better, but weak/tired.

What has me a little sad, is I didn't get pictures of the views like I wanted. :( I got a couple w/my DH swimming but that was it. I feel so bad. So tomorrow is a rest at home day to recoup. Wednesday we plan on going to the fair and then we'll see how we feel by Thursday.

And that's how the day went. Kind of disappointing but fun at the same time....if that's possible.

Ok...I'm off to bed. I need sleep. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be fine and dandy and wonder what the heck my problem was today?!

Chat w/you all later.

08-14-2007, 01:39 PM
Good morning ladies,

Tammy - aww, sorry your dd is hurting right now, but she would be better off w/o the xf anyway, unless he can change. Yowza, were you able to freeze any of the food? We could've had a Jaded Lady meet-up at your house with all that food. Anyway, hugs to you and her, both. It's hard on us parents when our kids are hurting, isn't it? Btw, I love your house and your new curtains!

Marti - how're you feeling today? Hope you didn't get what I had, since I'd hate for you to be sick on your vacation.

Cristina - it's really cooled off here, (low 80's, with a good breeze) which means it probably cooled off for you sometime yesterday. Love weather like this! How's your soldier?

Sassy - so have you met the new neighbors yet?

Sue - we have woodpeckers around here, and I just love to watch them. Did you get your popcorn? Neal grows it, and the new batch is just now ready. Mmm... it's so tender and fresh!

Mindee - yay for Marissa's teeth! (Jackson is still working on his, but it's getting close.) Sorry her Godmother was so rude, especially considering this was a once-in-a-lifetime ceremony and celebration. Something tells me she'll never get the Godmother Of the Year award, lol.

PJ - is that photo from California?? It doesn't seem like Florida. Yes, I love the family trips best, too. All 14 of us are going to Florida in March, then we're going to a cool, huge cabin in Nashville IN for Father's Day.

Jules - yw for the call. Sorry for all the stress going on right now, but so happy to hear about the BOY ! And yep, we'll help keep you motivated.

Rennie - aww, I'd love to have a tame rabbit around here, but I've seem what my dog Molly does to the wild ones she catches. What's the bunny's name?

Hello to anyone else reading this.

I'm all better today, and feeling like my old self again. Jackson is in the hospital with the rotovirus, poor little guy, and I'm getting ready to go relieve Gina in a little while so she can go get a shower.

See you later!

08-14-2007, 03:31 PM
Good Afternoon Ladies!!

Jane--So glad to see you are feeling better. Poor little Jackson with the rotovirus. We have runs (no pun intended) of rotovirus at the hospital usually late winter, early spring. You are a wonderful grandma for relieving his mom at the hospital. Just wash your hands good, it's highly contagious. Maybe you had a mild case of it yourself the other day? Yeah, wish we could have had a Jaded Ladies party. That would have been a blast! I took some food over to a pool party on sunday and froze some dishes to take to another pool party labor day weekend.

Jules--congrats on the grandson!! I'm sharing your worry about our daughters. It's hard when we feel like they have chosen the wrong significant other. If we complain too much it seems like it pushes them closer together. At the hospital that I work, we call them the FOB (father of the baby) and if they don't come through with emotional, financial and paternal support then we just call them sperm donors!

Marti--Sorry that your hiking trip was a little short lived. Do you think that maybe the altitude might have made you a little ill?

Sue--I hear ya on the overeating. I was so down on Sunday with the cancellation of the engagement party that I totally overate at a pool party. I took crab dip and spinach dip along with pecan bars and pigged out. After a few wine coolers, I was feeling pretty good.

Rennie--Your winter pic is similar to one that I see often on my computer. All of our downloaded pics show up as a screen saver and a winter scene will pop up usually on one of our hottest days.

Cristina--How's Josh? I'm going to VA to visit my son next week for 3 days. He still has to work but I'll be able to see him in the evenings for dinner and such. During the day we will visit Williamsburg and shop at the pottery, outlets and historic areas.

I've got a day off today and just got back from a haircut. Just gonna do a little housework and putting laundry away. Trying to get my water in. I am so not a drinker. It's a major chore to remember my water. But the scale has come to a halt and I need to drink the water and increase the exercise to jump start this plateau.

Thanks for all the well wishes and understanding about my disappointment with my daughter's engagement party. My dd is claiming that they are trying to work things out but I am less than optimistic. Whatever disagreement that they had should have been quietly dealt with between the two of them. But no, the ex-F had to cancel the party and announce to the world what a smuck he is. He has gone from a very likeable guy to the last guy that anyone wants to believe in among my family and friends. I've told my dd that it will take a very long time for us to ever trust him. I asked my dd to ask him how he would feel to have to put up all the $$ for downpayments for the reception, photographer, DJ and such and then sign a contract saying that if he doesn't show at the wedding that he would be responsible financially for everything. That just might be the deal breaker. I can be a tough cookie when I want to be!!

Oh, and another thanks for your positive comments on my decorating. I hang out on the HGTV decorating site sometimes and get some good ideas there. But there are days that people can get a little too opinionated there and they tempers will fly. I don't get into it but the drama is good reading!

Well, gonna finish watching Days of our Lives and drink some more water!!

08-14-2007, 05:17 PM
Marti~ I hope you are feeling better today. TOM just got done thankfully I managed to get by that with no problems. Are you going to go hiking again during your vacation? Or was it just a one time thing?

Jane~ Nope, she will never receive the Godmother of the year award! She will be lucky if she ends up in the running, but I am not counting on it! LOL

Jules~ Congratulations on the grandson!!!

Tammy~ It is good to hear from you!

08-14-2007, 08:25 PM
Good Evening Ladies:wave:

Sorry I've been absent been having issues with the comp I think I have it narrowed down to a power management issue...My water heater decided to have a brain fart on Saturday and had the water to the boiling point, first time I've ever scaled myself doing the dishes LOL...plumber came yesterday and replaced the thermostat hopefully that's all it was but I think something is still not right, Hubby is coming home this weekend so he'll check it out...well I need to get my dinner started before Eureka comes on, have a Good Evening All.

Jane - That's Cinderella's Castle at WDW the one in Disneyland is Sleeping Beauty's and it's tiny compared to the one in Florida, it probably looks different because of the decorations for the Cinderellabration that was going on that year, when we were there last Sept. they were taking all the decorations down getting ready for the Year of a Million Dreams which started in October, I can't wait to see the decorations for it.

Pink Jane
Your next vacation is 26 days away!

08-14-2007, 08:42 PM
Here's a few more pics, these were taken last Sept. at MGM Studios, The Tower of Terror, that's my Hubby and Son.

08-14-2007, 09:22 PM
Hello everyone.

I thought I would pop in and see if this works.

This was our hike trip to Bohemia mountain on Sunday. It was a perfect day. We plan on going back up there because there were a couple Geo Cache boxes we wanted to find, that we didn't find that day. Did find one though and that was fun!

PJ--Those are great pictures. So.....where are you?? I really want to have a family vacation to Disneyland someday. I would like to take Jhanai before she graduates. And I have 5 more year before that so hopefully we'll be able to go.

Mindee--We plan on hiking more. Yesterday was just a bad day for me. James ended up feeling awful last night too....not sure if the sandwiches we bought before we left were the problem. Today we are much better!

Tammy--I'm sure the altitude had a part of it, but Sunday we were up high in the mountains and didn't have any problems. Hopefully I won't experience that again.

Jane--Sure hope that Jackson starts to feeling better soon! Poor baby. We've been getting samples for all kinds of viruses lately. Norovirus has been the big thing here. No fun. Hope you're feeling better too. Hugs to your family...hope they all stay well.

Sue--You're doing so much biking and that should make you feel proud. It's better than doing nothing at all. The scale can be discouraging, which is why I hate to get on it at all, but even when I do see it go up or stay the least I know I'm moving. I'm proud of ya and love to hear how many miles you put in each day. Keep up the great work.

Jules--Congratulations on a baby grandson!! I bet it make it easier to prepare for him now that you know. I also think that its great that you and hubby are planning Saturday walks and hikes. A great way to reconnect. James & I have been getting closer during our times together. It's just so much fun to explore together and just have fun instead of worrying about everything.

And a great big hello to everyone I missed.....Christina, Sassy ....I'm a bit lazy and didn't go back to the other thread. I'll catch up with you later.

Ok...I'm off to enjoy some cranraspberry juice in the gazebo. We're slow cooking a pork loin on the grill.

Let me know if that link doesn't work. I think it should though.

Bye for now.

08-14-2007, 11:13 PM
Marti--the link says that the photos have been removed or deleted :(

08-15-2007, 12:29 AM
Oh man!! Ok....I'll be back. I'm going to try and fix it.

08-15-2007, 01:05 AM
Try this:

Let me know if it works.

08-15-2007, 02:00 AM
hello you fine are you all doing?

nothing new on this end......Tuesday was our 8th year anniversary of being together! It is hard to believe that we have been together that long! It seems like longer!

Marti~ Those pictures were great! I love the water fall!! It sounds like it could of been the sandwiches if you both got sick but you are now feeling better!

PJ~ I can't wait to see your pictures from this years WDW trip!

hello to all you wonderful ladies that I missed......Jane, Sassy, Sue, Cristina, and the rest of you all! I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

08-15-2007, 10:33 AM
Happy Hump Day, Ladies,

Tammy - I know how you're feeling with the xf. My son-in-law Dale, (who I refer to as Derwood) hasn't exactly set the standard for excellence. And the thing is, my DD Mary may forgive and forget, but it's not as easy for me to forget some of the things he's done and said.

Mindee - hope you're having a good day, too. Are there any plans in the works for your birthday?

PJ - I thought the surrounding area looked different. And I sure should have recognized the decorations, since I was there 3 times last year during my DD Katie's internship. But I thought maybe the castle in CA was decorated the same way.

Marti - love the photos! It all looks so beautiful. And to think this is all so close to where you live!

Hello to anyone else reading this.

I've been doing well with the water and food, but only just so-so with exercise. Why is it so hard to do well with all three? :dizzy:

Today I'm washing out the refrigerator. I've got a couple things in there that look like a science project, lol. Also need to finish the laundry that I started yesterday. Also have to get some phone calls out of the way.

What's on your agenda?

08-15-2007, 02:14 PM
Hello ladies...

Jane...glad to hear you are feeling better. Lots of hugs to Jackson, hope he gets better soon. Wish it were cool here...would love the 80 degree weather. But it did cool down to a cool 98, lol. We are headed for a cool down tomorrow...down in the high 90's tomorrow and for the next few days...guess it is better than the 100-103 degrees we've been having. the pictures! It's almost time for your vacation and more GREAT pictures!

Marti...sorry the hike was cut short and you got sick. Glad you are feeling better and the pictures are nice.

Jules...CONGRAT'S on the baby boy. Lots of hugs to you, Teri & guys definitely have a lot on your plates.

Mindee...sorry about the way the godmother was would think she would be the proud godmother and be there for every moment. HAPPY belated ANNIVERSARY! :celebrate: Did you guys do anything special? We celebrated our 8th in May.

Tammy...wish Josh was close enough to visit...hope you have a wonderful visit with your son.

Rennie...I had a boyfriend named George...I used to say the nursery rhyme...gorgie porgie puddin and pie kissed the girls and made them cry...he did, lol. Funny, just mentioned him this morning, lol. That was many years ago.

Hi to everyone else

Nothing much going on here, same old stuff, different day.

Have a good one ladies!

08-15-2007, 10:51 PM
Just dropping in for a quick HI  Just got home from dance and all pooped out. Gotta work the next two days then off for the weekend. Got my water in yesterday but didn't do so well today. I agree with Jane that I can't seem to do it all with exercise, water and staying OP. I've been pretty good with food intake and better with water but, except for dancing and a few short walks with the boys, I certainly won't win any exercise medals!

Mindee--happy late anniversary!!

Marti--loved your pics! What beautiful countryside!!

Big hugs to everyone! Heading to bed a little early. I have to leave for work about 10-15 min early because I have to park in an off-site parking lot and be shuttled in to the hospital. Hospital is building parking garages. We will be inconvenienced for a little over a year :(

08-15-2007, 11:02 PM
Good evening..Quickie here. I rode 6 miles today, 5 yesterday. Back on track, and if the scales don't move that is their problem. I know I am doing well and I feel better, so that's all I am going to worry about. (yeah, right, easy to say, huh?)

Busy few days here, so I will try to check in tomorrow.

08-16-2007, 01:38 AM
Hello ladies….how are you all doing?

Jane~ Thanks for the birthday card! As of right now, I think the only plans that are in the works so far are just to have Italian Chicken for dinner. I am not sure about anything else.

As far as our agenda, well we went and checked out a four bedroom house for $650 a month, plus utilities. The house looks great from the outside. When we got inside, that was another story. It is an older house, so none of the electrical is up to code for today’s standards. The steps are really narrow and steep to go upstairs which is where three of the four bedrooms are. There is a bedroom, family room, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom on the main floor. There are three bedrooms, and an attic space on the top floor. And then there is a Michigan basement with a washer and dryer. The place has a lot of potential to it, but we have to think about the kids safety first.

Rennie~ Thanks for the congrats on our anniversary. Yay on the bunny! My parents had a lot of bunnies….I think they still have them somewhere on their 2 acres! I had a “friend” named George…..I still wonder about him sometimes, but then I go back to reality!

Cristina~ I love your new avatar! I love Nickelback! That is what we thought that she would be was a proud Godmother, but I guess that back fired on us. Although, before she met her current boyfriend, she was always there for Brandon when he was a baby. She is completely wrapped around her current boyfriend. And the irony of it all, I think it more or less started out because his brother plays in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals. We just hung around the apartment and played with the kids. We have hit the “can’t take the kids out to a restaurant without them acting up” stage. At least that is how it is with Logan!

Tammy~ Thanks for the late anniversary wishes. I have to also agree with the not being able to stay OP, drink the water, and stay up with the exercise. I did awesome with the water and exercise yesterday, but fell off the food area! I need to crack that whip again. I go from great days, then slipping and then getting back on, just to slip again!

Sue~ How is our biker chick doing?

08-16-2007, 04:20 AM
Just a quick hello.

Went to the fair today. I don't ever want another corndog in my life......tooooo much grease! :barf:

I'll catch up more later.

Hugs to you all! :hug::hug:

08-16-2007, 05:04 PM are right! Even if you don't lose anything, you ARE getting healthy and that is what matters so you keep on truckin missy! Or rather, biking, lol. :bike2:

MINDEE...I too LOVE Nickelback! Especially Chad, hubba, hubba, lol. Speaking of avatars...I like yours but am at a loss of who it is? Doesn't look like Tommy :dunno:

MARTI...fair food is the worst! But...I always have to have a funnel cake, lol. I read somewhere that some state, can't remember where, was going to be cutting out the fatty, greasy foods. Hmmm, I think a lot of people go there for the food as much as the rides and such. Hope you guys had a fun time while there.

PINKJANE...ouch! Hope you didn't get scalded too bad. You reminded me that I have been wanting DH to turn the water heater down because ours gets real hot, I think a little too hot.

Hiya everyone else

Doing some laundry, bought groceries and will get my exercise in this evening. Going to mow the takes a full hour to do it and that is with the self-propelled mower pulling me behind it, lol. Another hot one here today but cooled off this morning at the pool. It's really relaxing.

Have a good day ladies!

08-16-2007, 05:58 PM
Marti~ The fair sounds like fun! I just saw a commercial for our state's fair. I am about to check out the site to see who is going to be there performing.

Cristina~ Is Chad the lead guy? If so, then I agree.....hubba hubba! Nope, that isn't Tommy in my avatar. It is Phil, the minister, that did the dedication for Logan and Marissa. He is holding both of them in that picture. Marissa is wearing the outfit that my aunt, who is my godmother, made me for my baptism. Logan is wearing my oldest brother's tuxedo that he wore for his.

I told Marissa that I wished her great papa gray was still alive. I have a picture of me and him when I got baptized.

08-16-2007, 09:22 PM
Hello, ladies,

Rennie - George is a good name for a pet. Just a thought - when you're ready, would you want to fill out a bio so we'll know more about you? Just when you're ever ready, though. :)

Cristina - wow, we got hit by a storm today and I'm wondering if you got it first.

Tammy - our hospital is always adding on, remodeling, etc, too, and it's hard to get around all that, but I guess the progress is worth it.

Sue - Cristina said it best - you are getting healthier, so that's what matters.

Mindee - I wondered who the guy in the avatar was, since I knew it wasn't Tommy. I love Italian chicken, and make it with potato wedges in the crock pot. That sounds like a good birthday dinner. YW for the card.

Marti - a corndog sounds good. Especially if it's got a little ketchup on it, lol.

Hello to everyone else.

Oh my. The gal who we were going to rent from at Lake Barkley ended up being a nutcase, so we cancelled, and rescheduled the trip today with a more trustworthy-sounding couple, at Kentucky Lake.

We had a horrible storm today, and our underground electric system got hit by lightening. It took out our water pump, and at Mary's house, the a/c, clothes dryer, phones, and electric features on her gas range got hit. Insurance will only pay for the a/c at her house, since technically, she and Dale rent it, and it's listed that way with the insurance company. Neal and I advised them to take out renter's insurance, but they never did.

So until tomorrow at some point, we're w/o water. I have bottled gallons to use for teeth-brushing, etc, and some stored water to flush with.

Jackson got to come home from the hospital. That's my silver lining to this dismal day. That, and I found out I get to go to Asheville, NC with friends next month. WooHoo!

Actually, I've been counting my blessings, and told Mary to do the same.

08-16-2007, 10:31 PM
hello ladies.....

Jane~ I will have to try that in the crock pot! That sounds like it would be good. Do you use flavored wedges or plain wedges?

I think I missed something, what was Jackson in the hospital for? He is okay right?

08-16-2007, 11:30 PM
Hi ladies.. Jane, we didn't get a bit of storm today. Would like some rain, but don't want the bad storm. Sorry it caused lots of trouble there. I am glad Jackson got to go home and is doing okay.

Cristina- Seems like you just mowed...I bet it does to you too. Yes, I am feeling tons better since I started riding, so I know it is doing me good. That's a big plus. BTW..Indiana State Fair did away with trans fats. But they serve deep fried Snickers and deep fried Pepsi. I doubt if people realize the fat was changed. ha..

Mindee- I have to ask what a Michigan basement is?? I had never heard that term. Sorry I missed an anniversary...hope you enjoyed.

Marti- The fair sounds like fun. We haven't gone in years but our State Fair is going on. DD took the granddaughters to see Rascal Flatts last Friday.

Tammy- Hope you have a nice week-end off.

Rennie- My son and his ex gf had two bunnies. They chewed through the phone cord. :) She got the pets in the split.

I did laundry and went to get groceries today. Took Mom to get her hair fixed too. I rode 4 miles on the bike tonight but didn't do any this morning. I fixed sweet corn again tonight and it was so good. This time of year it is hard to NOT get in lots of veggies. Our neighbor continues to gift us with tomatoes and we even had green ones this week. (I have to severely limit myself on those since they are fried, but I could eat them forever) Same way with the corn, I have to limit myself to one small ear with very little butter.
Tomorrow we are meeting our former neighbors for an early dinner. Nothing else going on...I even have my laundry finished, so won't be doing that. LOL.

Hope all of you are planning a wonderful week-end.

08-17-2007, 12:31 AM
Sue~ I am not exactly sure how to describe it. All I know is that anyone who is close to 6 feet tall or taller, they have to duck! It is just enough room over Tommy's head, and he is 5'8". My parents have a Michigan basement at their farm.

08-17-2007, 12:59 PM
Good morning, ladies,

Rennie - I noticed you deleted your posts, and hope that you haven't decided to leave the JL. You are a welcomed addition to our little group.

Mindee - :balloons::carrot: :cp:Happy Birthday to you!!!:cp: :carrot: :balloons:
Hope it's a great day! Here's how I make crock pot Italian chicken: scrub several potatoes, and cut them into about 6 wedges, lengthwise. Place them in the pot, and drizzle a little low fat Italian dressing on them. Place several boneless, skinless chicken breasts on top of the potatoes, and add more dressing - not too much. Sprinkle a little parmesean cheese on top. Don't add water, or any other liquid. Cook on low for 5-6 hours. This is one of my favorites.

Sue - I agree, this is the best time of year for all those wonderful fresh veggies. I'm going to be freezing blackberries, since I have a bumper crop, to use in smoothies all year long.

We are still w/o running water, but have jugs of fresh water and pails of rainwater. Our plumber is trying to find a pump locally, but may have to have one over-nighted. And amid all this...

I forgot to mention that Mackenzie the 8 y/o is having 2 other 3rd graders come here and sleep over, since tonight is the premier of High School Musical 2. :dizzy: It seemed like a good idea at the time, and I'm sure we'll get through even without the running water. At least I have a/c, while poor Mary still does not.

It will be hard for me to stay OP tonight so wish me luck. :crossed:

Have a good day, ladies.

Hello ladies, and a Happy Friday to all!

MINDEE...hope you enjoy your special day today! Yeppers, Chad is the lead singer...he's a little on the skinny side for me but hey, he's still the looker, lol.

JANE...sorry about the weather you guys got and the after effects. Hope you get water soon. Wish we had gotten some rain...supposed to Sunday I think...I'll believe it when I see it. Also, sorry about the least you found out now rather than later. Glad Jackson is home and better.

RENNIE...ditto what Jane said...hope to see you posting. :) the heck do you deep fry pepsi? Sounds icky however they do it, as well as the snickers. I think the big things at the fair here last year were the deep fried oreos and twinkies, yuck! I did just mow, or so it seems...the weeks are just flying by! This week instead of mowing both the fron and back on Thursday I did the front on Wednesday. But once it cools off I will do both the same day...can't wait for cooler temps!

HI to everyone else

WEnt for my 3 mile walk this a.m. it was a little cooler than usual and felt good. Of course half way into the walk I work up a sweat. But at least it was cool when I started. Came home and did my 2 mile WATP video...for some reason I feel like doing it again, lol. I won't though I think I've done enough. Ran to Target to see if they had some air mattresses for the pool. Lost two...not sure how but they had holes in them. Luckily they had a lot and they were marked down to $2 something. Should have gotten more than three but didn't. And I'm not sure why I got an odd number. Oh well, not many pool days left so...Spent my 2 1/2 hours at the pool. You would think I would almost be black by now but noooooo. I think I have tanned as dark as my body will, lol. Still going to go though. Anywho...getting some laundry done now.

Have a great day ladies! Ta ta for now :)

Happy Birthday hope you have a wonderful day.

Today has been a day like any other day. I live such a boring life.

1. After tennis practice kathleen hits me with the 100's of balls that I hit over the net to her. I secretly think she enjoys this part of the day above all others. lol

2. Did some housework and then took a nap, darn sinus headache.

3. Got up wondered around the house with nothing to do and no energy to do anything anyway. Darn sinus headache.

4. Wondered if anyone here played games on line like yahtzee or things like that. Would be nice to have someone to play with.

5. Sat here, like I am now, reading posts and posting.

My life is so darn exciting I can't stand it lol

Evening ladies...

Happy Birthday Mindee. Sorry I missed saying that earlier!

Cleaned house this morning and went to eat with ex neighbors this evening. I was good...veggie stir fry over rice and a side of fruit. I ate most of the veggies and left most of the rice. A slice of whole wheat warm bread finished the meal. No butter....
I took some measurements and think I will wait until Mon. and do it again....maybe my eyes deceived me.
Rode 4 miles....

I have nothing exciting planned for the rest of the week-end. How about you?

Happy Saturday, Ladies...

Rennie...sometimes I don't even post because I feel like I am the boringest (if that is even a word, lol) person in the world. Usually the same old stuff, different day type posts. I think your life sounds more exciting than mine. I clean house, exercise and get on the computer, lol. Oh, and do laundry, lol.

Mindee...I think the scales are a great gift! Like you when I got new ones I didn't like what they said either, lol. Hope your day was fun!

Sue...sounds like you did well at the dinner. Okay, so I am taking it that the measurements were a good sign? Keeping my fingers crossed for Monday. :crossed:

HIYA everyone else, JANE, MARTI, TAMMY, JODI, TINA, SASSY, MARYKATE, VANN, ahhh, can't remember everyone, everyone who is MIA!

No special plans for the weekend. Both DH and son are working and daughter is in bed so basically have the house to myself today. Oh joy...lots of fun cleaning, woohoo! Went for my 3 mile walk this morning early. It was kind of sticky out. Came home and did my 2 mile WATP and feeling pretty good. Once I get off here and clean I am going to get some reading done I think.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies.

I had a scare early this morning:

I was in the bedroom, cutting my toenails, and lotioning (just had a bath) and I heard this BANGING. I thought it was DH coming home a little bit early. So I hurried and got dressed and ran to the door only to find that the doorknob was UNlocked! :yikes: But the deadbolt and the little thingy that goes over the door (like they have in hotels) was still locked.

I looked outside and DH was not home, as the car was not there and I even looked out the back door.
DH then called stating he is on his way home and told me I should call the cops only what if it was the neighbors door or something? (they live right next door) But I KNOW for a fact that the doorknob was locked when DH left for work and he said he even checked it before leaving and I have not been anywhere.

Everything was/is okay. DH looked around outside when he first came home this morning and said he didn't see anything. He did change the lobby lightbulbs outside our apt. So at least it won't be dark out there.

It did scare me but afterwards I calmed down.

Well I just tried the old light bulbs from the lobby that DH just changed out cuz he said they didn't sound like they were burnt out and they aren't. So there is something else wrong with that light out there and the landlord/owners will hear about it and they better get to fixing it!

My DH just told me that a co-worker and his friends got jumped lastnight and our co-worker is in the hospital with his jaw wired wire shut!!!!!!!!!! He's going to be out all week!!!!!!!!!! :yikes:

This world is getting scarier and scarier I tell you!!!!!!!!!

Take Care everybody and BE SAFE!

Just a quick pop-in to say hello. We got a new water pump, so WOOHOO, I have running water once again. The sleep-over for the third-graders was fun for them. They each really like High School Musical 2, of course. I'm worn out, so I'll see you next time.

I had a real boring day today.... I rode 3 was way cool outside here today, which was nice. Walked 2/3 mile.

I fixed Jane's chicken recipe in the crock pot. I must say the flavor was wonderful and I loved the chicken, just didn't like the way the potatoes cooked in the crock pot for some reason. We all 3 ate them, they weren't terrible. LOL I will do it again with just the chicken and fix potatoes separate. (I might add, I am one who doesn't like some foods cooked together, so that might be the deal here.) As I mentioned the flavor was super and the chicken was so tender and moist.
I did laundry and did some reading. End of boring

Cristina- Yes, I think the measurements will be good....*fingers crossed*

Hi everyone and have a wonderful Sunday!
