I thought I smelled coffee! Thanks, LC.

It's a gorgeous morning! There's a low mist on the ground, and with the sun shining, it looks like little sparkly diamonds. It's supposed to be a little cooler today and less humid. Amber is going to come over this afternoon for a pool date with me, that will be fun! Other than that, I have nothing else planned. I think I'll try that Mediterranean Chicken for supper, with grilled zucchini.

I'll be back after Curves!

Morning Ladies! I'm on my second cup of CDM and almost have my eyes open. Woke up to a HUGE list of emails with work...guess that makes up for the lazy day yesterday. At least I got my house clean yesterday and won't have housework hanging over my head. Supposed to be another humid scorcher here today. I'm ready for fall...but fall doesn't come here till about mid Oct., so I have some waiting to do.

I think my husband is going to pick up a couple of steaks to grill this afternoon. Think I'll slice a little of mine real thin and put it on a big salad...too hot to eat anything but salads right now.

Yummy coffee and decent morning. It definitely seems less humid. The Girls and I had our first coffee on the deck and watched Thursday unfold.

Not much scheduled today except writing and printing the Church bulletin. I need to go to the next village later to get another ink cartridge as I'm out once again! I hate spending so much money for ink!

I went to town yesterday to order my new lenses and was greeted by much laughter and "Not again!" from the staff. The frames are salvageable and the new glasses will be ready later today. My leg was giving me a lot of grief so I didn't get much of my planned shopping done. I did buy another el cheapo toaster so it was nice to have toast for breakfast this morning.

Kevin got started on my "barn raising" yesterday and will be back this morning. I do hope it's less humid today. Poor guy is widowed and has two girls (15 and 9) to support and works his butt off to keep ahead. I'll make a jug of real lemonade for him today as Crystal Lite won't meet his caloric deficit. I usually supply coffee all day but that won't cut it today.

Lucy is hollering for more breakfast so I guess she's improving. The two weeks of meds haven't done a darn thing except make her suspicious of me every time I hand her a "treat" with a pill inside. She's still wheezing just as much so I will phone the $$$ vet in Ottawa later today.

Have a super Thursday, Little Chick, Cottage and Femme! It's a gift - that's why it's called "the present".

I am back. The wind here today is so crazy leaves are blowing off the trees. I am not sure if my clothes are going to stay on the line. But if they do they will be dry in no time.

Ruth- you have the best outlook on life. I really just want to hug you. The glasses people must love you. You are their best customer, what kind of cars do they drive.

Cottage- enjoy your day with Amber by the pool. No swimming for us today. Have a great day.

Femme- Hope you don't go crossed eyed from answering all those emails. Try to squeeze in a little me time.

Me- I have a quiet day today. Not sure what is up for me besides laundry, housework and kid time. I got a stack of books from the library yesterday and I am going to do some reading. A few of them were cook books so I want to look at them first if I find any great recipies I let you know. Well have a great day. I am off to try to hang some clothes I hope I don't end up in OZ.

Good morning! Another day of rain here - the grass and flowers may start to turn green again if this keeps up! The humidity though is starting to get to me - it is either hot and sticky or freezing to over airconditioning!

August is our busy time at work, we have started to move teams back into housing and on Monday my staff returns from summer break for training. I love them and they are such a positive part of my life, but they can sure be draining some days and it seems preparing for them is no different - less excrcise, less time for things like reading and the computer!

Off to the shower and the daily grind - hope everyone has a great day!

Morning ladies! I put my nose to the grindstone yesterday and refused to look up until the piles were reduced! Today is the first day in weeks I didn't walk in the door and dread sitting down at my desk! I am finally going to be able to tackle the smaller stuff today and not feel like I am sinking in a sea of paperwork!

Supposed to top out at 100 today, sheeeeeeew! Going to try and get away early today and shop for my class reunion saturday, can't go in baggy clothes!

Have a great day my friends, stay cool and will power dust to all!

Good morning chicks,
Today I must be miss hyper-productive. I've got a conference to go to next week and really can't afford the time away from work stuff right now, so I will probably need to do some work over the weekend also. At least I can stay home today. So the plan is: work, sweat, laundry, sweat some more, make the kids un-trash the house from the sleepovers we've had this week, more sweating, pool maybe later, grill the rest of the steaks for dinner, collapse.
Ruth, I love your comment about the present, so true, and I try to live by that philosophy. I may put that one on the refrigerator.
amasam, just think, we are on the downhill side of summer now. Soon we will be enjoying crisp fall mornings (and putting kids on the schoolbus!). A little longer for you, I guess femme. Here in the mountains we start getting the cool nights even while the days are still getting pretty hot. I love that open-window sleeping weather! Not that I'm wishing away any of my "presents" Ruth! We will be sad when the pool closes. We are supposed to have a "cold" front come in tomorrow, and should have temps in the 90's over the weekend instead of 100's.
Hope you enjoy that chicken as much as we did, cottage. I loved that it was very quick and easy to make. Next time I make it, I will leave out the extra 1/4 cup of water when you add the broth, I didn't think it needed it.
littlechick, I love reading cookbooks when I have the time. I hope you find some yummy stuff to share with us! I have gotten the best recipes from this forum!
I'm off to crank up the window ac unit in the living room to "high", so it can get a jump on the heat. Not that it will help much!
Have a good one guys, tomorrow is Friday!

Hi pacer! I knew someone would sneak in there while I was writing! Gotta love that feeling of a clean desk, and being on top of things. I have had that feeling in quite a while unfortunately...

Good Morning Girls,

I am already at work, it seems like I just left here. I was excited, last night it seemed like I had a lot more energy. I didn't sit down til 8:30. (That is really good for me) My son is packing and ready to move to Chicago for school. He has been home for the summer. He will be moving tomorrow then coming back and work for a week, then go back up next weekend. I know I will miss him, I could already cry.

I have been listing some project goals for myself. This weekend I am going to start on these, do or die. I still have boxes downstairs that have to be gone thru and put away. I hope this will be my last move for quite some time. Hope everyone has a great day, stay inside so you don't melt!

Morning everyone!!

Yesterday was a bit rough as I was very down n out, but I managed to stick to eating on Ph1, which is a good thing.

They have recently done a massive re-org at work so its been a bit stressful because i hate where i am now. I work in IT, and my previous manager was awesome (he was technical/competent), but my new manager is a arrogant prick so I been a bit bummed over that.

But on the bright side, I feel much better today - even though the heat is scorchy.

I hope everyone has an awesome thursday...

Happy Thursday morning, chickies!

LC: Thanks for the coffee and starting us up! Hope you have a great day and that those clothes stay on the line!

Cottage: Hope that chicken turns out great! Have fun at the pool!

Ruth: Sounds like you're a busy lady still in spite of your leg. Have a wonderful day - sorry about all that humidity.

femme: There's nothing I love more than a grilled steak salad. They're the best! We had the same thing in S. Texas with fall not coming until Oct. I'm SO glad that fall usually gets here on the 1st of Sept. So nice to have real seasons!

Ally: I can't believe the fall semester is so close. I remember moving back to the dorms for RA training and etc. It was very busy, but SO fun!

Pacer: WTG getting your desk cleaned up! That is SO hard to do sometimes, but what a relief it is when it's done.

Schmoodle: WOW! You've got a lot going on! Hope you're not too sweaty as you get things done!

Stitch: I know what you mean with those boxes and the "last move for a while". I'm hoping to get the closet cleaned out this weekend. That's where all the "I'll unpack them later" boxes went. Good luck getting it all done!

Lisa: More and prayers coming your way. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Sand: Sorry about the re-org at work. That really stinks. WTG sticking to P1! You're doing a great job!

ME: Well, nothing but bad news for me. Last night with DH was a blast. I decided I was too tired to go out to eat, so we got - warning, food porn - pizza and beer instead. We decided to toss around the football, and I ended up dislocating my finger. DH popped it back and we taped it, but it sure does hurt.

In other news, I had my OBGYN appt. Tuesday, and she called this morning to tell me I have Polycystic (sp?) Ovary Syndrome. Basically, I have too much testosterone in my system and that is preventing me from ovulating. There's medication I can take to treat it, but that could result in a sooner-than-we're -planning pregnancy, so things are up in the air right now. I'm feeling very down about it because worst case scenario is us not being able to reproduce without fertility treatments of some sort. I'm just trying to be sure and stay upbeat so that I don't eat my way into depression.

Hope everyone has a great day and here's some ! Although, I probably need it more than anyone here!

~Kim

Good morning chicklets!

Cottage Let me know how your dinner turns out- I am looking for new recipes. I have enough leftovers in the fridge to get through the next couple of days, but want to try some new things for next week.

Ruth I am sure they giggled when you came into the eye doctors. I am sorry to hear that your knee is still bugging you.

LC Enjoy your quiet day. I am sure that you don't get too many of those at your house.

Femme I love steak salads, esp with a little bleu cheese sprinkled on top. The have one at Saltgrass Steakhouse that is so delish- marinated asparagus and hardboiled eggs.

Weezle I hope that all goes well today.

Pacer, Schmoodle, Bkstictch, and Sandstripe Have a beachy
day!!!

Me- Waiting for the neighbor kiddo to get here and then we are heading for out for a morning of swimming. That should get them all good and worn out. My girls are EXHAUSTED! They won't fall asleep until it is dark out, so it really doesn't help to put them to bed early. Abigail is in desperate need of a nap, but I don't make her nap when we are babysitting the neighbor. Tomorrow is the last day for that and then I will have a week to just enjoy the girls.

I am sleepy this morning and would love to climb back into bed for a bit!

We are going to a friend's for dinner- I am really don't in the mood for it either..... her son wears me out....
