Good morning!
I'm running way behind this morning, just being excessively lazy! I was laying in bed listening to the weather report and considering driving down to the shore to stay with my parents for the day, but it's going to be so hot and humid, that I changed my mind. I don't relish that long drive by myself, anyway. I really should spend the day washing sheets and cleaning the house, after having the grandkids here all weekend, so that's what I'll be doing all morning.

Good morning. Coffee is on and is needed this morning by me anyhow! :( I just washed my kitchen floor as there seems to be a major doggage digestive disturbance going on! Not a good start to the day but it just has to get better.
We are back to humidity again so the AC is back on. I need to go to town for new glasses and hope I can get it over with early before it gets too muggy to breathe! I may cancel pet therapy later today as my dogs will much prefer the cool of the house.
What's a-happening on your stretch of the sand?

Morning chicks. Just sitting here having a cup of tea, trying to get myself jump started for the day. Still trying to catch up from the week end. To much food, too much drink and too little sleep. But lots of fun. I love family time. And that was just enough. It is rainy and cool here today. I hope the weather improves. Hope everyone has a great day.
CottageEnjoy your day.
RuthieKeep you and your doggies cool today.
Me I gotta to dash got a stinky butt to change. See ya a little later.

Cottage, it's supposed to be a hot one here today too...100!
Ruth, hope your doggage feels better soon.
LC, I'll trade you the rainy and cool today!
Me, going back to that pilates ball class tonight. Two days after the first one every piece of me hurt! It can only get easier, right?
Hope everyone has a beachy day!

OMG! No wonder it's muggy! The humidity is 93%. It might just as well be raining.

Good Morning chicks,
I'm waiting for my neighbor to get me for our walk. My goal for today is to get in all my veggies. Working at home, so I hope to get some sheets washed and hung out, and do a little cleaning on the side.
Betty, you are a trooper! Have fun bouncing on the ball.
littlechick, you reminded me that I have no more stinky butts to wipe until grandchildren arrive. Hooray!
Ruth, sorry to hear about the dogs. Nothing is less fun than getting up and finding pet mess to clean, although in my case it would he hairballs.
Cottage, happy cleaning. I actually wish I could take a couple of days and just clean. My house hasn't been this much of a wreck in a long time, and I just can't get caught up trying to do it piecemeal. It's driving me nuts.
Have a great beachy day ladies!

Good Mornin!
I'm wakin up after running around Boston until 2:30 am helping DB move. 2:30 am!! We felt like thieves, hauling all his crap and quietly bringing stuff down to his new (temporary) place. Luckily, my job as a nanny does not require me to be "on," at least not today. I'm kind of a princess when it comes to my sleep.
On the diet end of the news, I woke up this morning with a half pound loss since yesterday, making the official Phase I loss 6.5 lbs. Today I go shopping and add strawberries and blueberries to my cart!!! Yay!!! I dreamt that I was at some party with bagels and I was good, even in my dream, though I did indulge in some DELICIOUS dark chocolate...yum. Sweet dreams, indeed.
Hope everyone's days of cleaning or whatever else goes well! I am so excited that my fat clothes are starting to fit me again (very scary when you outgrow your fat pants!)

Morning chicks. Not quite as tired, but no time today so I just have a quick fly-by! The boss is coming to hang out today. Gotta make it there on time in case the closers didn't make the store look fantastic! Hope everyone has a fabulous OP day!

Morning chicks...
Ruth How many pairs of glasses does that make in the last year??
Cottage Stay cool today! It is supposed to be a hot one here. I am taking the kids swimming this morning. It should feel lovely!
Weezle Have a good day at work! Where is it you work again?
LC Stinky diapers...... plenty of those around here. DD shows very little interest in potty training. She just turned two though, so I suppose it will be a few more months. How many kids do you care for?
Sonja Why the middle of the night move? Sounds kind of fun actually!
Schmoodle Morning!
Me- Watching the neighbor today, we actually have him all week. Swimming is on the agenda for this morning and we will see for the rest of the day. It has been pretty hot here in the afternoons, so they just play inside while the little one naps. It can make for a long afternoon, but it works.
My eating STUNK yesterday- can someone give me a cyber kick in the butt????

Good muggy morning to all! Heat index off 105 today, ARG! I noticed everyone clucking yesterday about the frizzies, not me, although I have thick hair it is straight and by the end of the day just hangs there, kind of like another part of my body that has been a recent topic of discussion around here! LOL
I need to avoid the scales this week, between TOM just around the corner and the dang humidity I am up some poundage! EEK! I feel I am drinking my weight in water and retaining it!
LC I luuuuuuuv that dancing chick!
Work is testing my ability to multi-task and I feel it is winning! Then I go home and my 16 year old DD is testing everything! God grant me the patience, and let me remember what it was like to be 16!
Have a great day, stay cool and drink lots of H2O!

Hot humid and icky here too. I've been out working in my rose garden and my poor roses look terrible even though I spray for blackspot etc every week. Can't imagine what they would look like if I didn't spray. It has stormed nearly every day all summer and it's just too much water and humidity for them. I'm cutting them all back at the end of August, so maybe if the rain stops I'll have a decent second season with them.
On the subject of loosing weight...how often do most of you go to the gym? I've just been going 3 days a week, but am considering upping that.

I have those frizzies to the max. It is supposed to be 100 here the rest of the week. Happily in Brazil it is winter and will be in the 50s and 60s! Wahoo!! I wonder if I can find a fall-ish jacket at Goodwill or if I can be OK in my sweatshirts and jean jacket? I found my winter coat at Goodwill--a long, dark red wool coat, looked brand new, for $4.99. I have a similar short peacoat that I paid at least $75 for.
My eating has STUNK as well Kiko. I am so incredibly stressed right now. I don't even want to talk about it but I am going to need some major supernatural intervention to be ready to leave on Saturday. I am starting to feel pretty resentful towards my friend who is coming in town today because it was a good week for her...nevermind that I am leaving the country on Saturday and have huge things at work to get done. Ack.
I did lurk yesterday but no time to post. *Hi* to everyone.

Good morning all,
It is so hot here when you go out you just melt! I had a better day yesterday, I ate more last night and wasn't as sick to my stomach. I did make the PB, fudge bar and ff cool whip last night. Wow, what a treat. Today I am skipping the egg and eating cottage cheese instead. Can't wait till tomorrow, it will be my first weigh in. I am sure I will let you all know what happens. Have a great day everyone.:shocksn: THINK COOL!!!!!

Speaking of frizzies, I am having another Napolean Dynamite kinda hair day :-) We have a forecast of 101 w/ humidity of 88 percent - yick. I wish I was actually at the beach...I could just stay in the water all day sipping on rum and dt coke.
I tried eating beans late yesterday, and I stopped feeling sick to my stomach. Any particular reason for why this works?
I hope everyone has a happy tuesday...

Good morning all. Hair is up in a pony tail today - so "Afro Mare" won't be making her appearance today! :)
Today I've got my epidural, so I know my eating will stink - simply because I won't be able to stand long enough to cook anything! It's been hot here too - low 90's (In western NY, that's HOT!!!) so cooking has been a minimum. I roasted a turkey breast in my crock pot this weekend, and I thought it would last till at least today, but DH has been on a turkey kick, so it's almost gone. Oh well. I'll just have to do 2 next time, or get a bigger one.
Well, I'm off to prepare myself mentally for having a needle shoved into my spine.
Have fun on the Beach today!
Mare I hate it when DH eats all the leftovers that I have planned for something else. (like my own meals.....)
Jessie Here is a big hug and a prayer headed your way!
Sandstripe :welcome3: I don't think I have "met" you!

Femme, I've been trying to get two weight training sessions and three cardio sessions in per week (some weeks I do better than others). Adding the weight training is something I've just started to do, and I should have started it much earlier. :o

I have to rush around to get ready to bring my laptop in to the shop. It always makes me nervous to be without my computer! After my roommate comes home from work, there's NOTHING else to do but get online and post or play a game! But this place diagnoses and makes estimates for free and that's totally worth it. None of my computer geek friends have any idea what's wrong and a lot of them think it might be hardware, which is beyond their ability to fix.
Sunburn is ALMOST gone except my upper back and shoulders.. but I can touch it today so that's good! And I've determined a lot of the soreness I thought was the skin was actually my muscles just being sore from swimming.
Gotta run now so I hope to see you all with a faster, not menopausal computer in a few days!

Good morning all! WE MADE IT! My in-laws have dial up (I didn't know people still did that!) so the computer connection here is as slow as the baggage coming off our plane in Atlanta...
The kids were exceptional on the flights! We made our connection in Atlanta despite having to wait almost an hour for one of our bags (which we had to clear through customs before we could continue on to Philly...fun!) and we got into town around 7 last night. We made the rounds of Tom's and my parents' houses and today we're hitting my grandparents and sisters (not literally, I mean going to visit them!), so we should fit a visit with everyone by the end of the day. The kids are STILL sleeping! They went to bed about 10:00 last night and it's 10:22 right now and their little heads are still out! I'm not planning on waking them up. When they've had enough sleep they'll get up by themselves, and be much less grumpy than if I had woken them early. Kadyn woke up in the middle of the night, I think confused more than anything. She and Connor had been sharing a bed in Korea and here she has her own bed, so I think she was just lonely. I got her back to sleep in a couple minutes. Avery woke up a couple times, par for the course with her. I slept in that deep, deep sleep while I was out and feel rested this morning. I had been up for close to 28 hours when I finally got to bed last night - actually got to the point where I was having to catch my balance when I was standing up for a period of time because I kept almost falling over! My dad was kind enough to pick us up from the airport and drive us home so I didn't have to worry about that.
Today is a recovery day, time zone-wise and eating-wise. The last two days have been awful for me with regards to food. What is it about being stressed that makes me want to stuff my face?! I felt like a Hoover. Anyway, had some fat free cottage cheese and blueberries for breakfast this morning and I feel good about that. Even got in a mini-workout with a new stability ball I had ordered and had sent here.
Avery's awful quiet so I'd better go check on her. I don't know how often I'll be able to post with this molassasy Internet connection, but I'm sure I'll at least read every day!
Happy Tuesday, chickies!

cottage - You asked about school in yesterday's daily. Brian starts Aug 27th which is about two weeks later than last year. I'm not ready to get back into the routine of homework, scout stuff, and the new activities (Beta club, safety patrol) but I'm sure it will be fine once we get used to it. He'll also be switching back to afterschool at the school which he isn't so happy about.
Ruth - You should get a frequent buyer's discount on glasses! I'm just glad Lucy doesn't eat the glass.
little chick - I think we could all use some of that fairy dust!
Betty - It does get better. I love Pilates but the gym changed it to an advanced class using machines and started charging extra. I haven't been since.
schmoodle - I wish I had a neighbor like you to walk with! I used to walk with the one across the street but she moved.
slisette - I can't imagine moving at night. But I bet it is cooler that way.
Kiko - Is your area doing National Night Out tonight? Our neighborhood gets together every year for the food drive and potluck. I'm looking forward to it but I need to watch what I eat. I made a strawberry pie to bring (although Brian claims it isn't a pie if it is crustless but I know he will eat it).
pacer - I've got straight hair too. It's baby fine but a lot of it so I wear it really short. It just hangs in humidity. Actually it hangs no matter what I do.
cat - I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week (minimum 3). I really think that the fact that I haven't been much in the last year is why I have put back on so much weight.
bkstitch and sandstripe - I really think the healthy carbs in the beans help with the South Beach Flu and part of that flu can be a queasy stomach. Dairy also helps so don't forget to drink your milk and eat that plain yogurt.
jessie - Have fun in Brazil and enjoy the cooler weather!
charolastra - Computer problems make me nervous too and I support computers for a living. I guess part of it is I know how much can go wrong. Good luck with yours.
kara - Glad to hear you made it safe. You might try the library. I bet they have a faster connection.
Have a great day, Weezle, jammare!

The library is a good idea, Barb, but then I'd have to harness the kids or something so they don't get piles of books out! They LOVE the library and Kadyn always wants to bring home about twenty-nine different books to read!

I got all of my "niggles" out of the way, and even remembered to pick up a new battery for the cordless phone. :D I must have it in the wrong way, though, because I can't get the battery cover back on. :chin: It feels wonderful to have the house back in order again. :)
Oh my goodness! I'm watching Joan Rivers on the View right now, holy cow does she ever look different!!!!!!
Kara, Hey neighbor! I'm glad you had a safe trip. I guess you feel like you're back in Korea with this torrid humid weather we're enjoying.

Just a quick drop in. Came home for lunch, can't decide what to eat. If I look at another piece of lettuce I'll cry, but that's what handy right now.
Hope you all are surviving your humidity and your hot days. It's finally cooling off here, only 77 so far today.
Well, back to work. Hugs
Today my eating has been crap hopefully I can head it off at the pass
Breakfast was ok
I had a mini cheesecake an apple and a 1/2 cup of cereal
we had lunch on the boss so I had a half a small spring roll some garlic bread and thin crust buffalo shrimp pizza (The place uses preservatives on their salad which makes me sick) then I was taunted (LITERALLY) by a coworker for not having more
Tonight is National night out and DH is a fireman so we're going down to the FD to grill I'm thinking turkey burgers or maybe lean beef and a salad
Kara Welcome home!! you're makign me want blueberries!!
gotta run!
Kier
Got my eating back under control today. Whew! Dang TOM!!!! At least there was no drama this month wondering if it was coming or not. ;)
Barb Our neighborhood is doing something, but I have Bible study tonight. I figure I need the Lord more than I need to socialize! My mom's neighborhood is having a swim party, BBQ, and bounce house. I feel kind of bad about not taking the girls, but don't like to miss the study. My mom felt like the girls would be too much for her to handle by herself and I certainly understand that.
Cottage The state of Texas has finally standardized the school start date, so all districts have to start on the same day. That gave us a longer summer this year. Prior to that you could have neighboring districts starting anywhere from 2-3 weeks differently. (I know that is not a grammatically correct sentence.....)
Making Chicken Divan for dinner tonight- I haven't made that recipe in a long time and it sounded good!

Kiko, I am District Trainer for Hollywood Video.
What a wild day! It was fairly busy. Hopefully they make a ton of money tonight! I could use a good bonus this quarter!
Well, off to make some dinner and read my YMCA newsletter thingy. I think maybe since I pay them every month that I should pop in and visit, possibly. Have a great night chickies!

Lisa, you totally crack me up. "Pop in and visit" the YMCA! That's great! I can picture someone just waltzing through the door and walking around, talking to the exercise equipment... Let me know how it goes!
Man, it's almost as hot here as in Korea! Actually, it's pretty much the same temperature, just a little less humidity, which is a little sad because Avery lost her cute little curls. Her hair is just about straight now.
I went for a walk with my sisters this evening and ended up going five miles! It was great to see them. *Every*one lives here (Tom's mom is three houses down the street from my parents, my dad's father is four houses up the street from my parents, my sisters each live about a mile from my parents in different directions, Tom's dad is about a mile from my parents as well...) so it's really terrific to come back and snap right in to the family dynamic. I miss being close but I do love having our adventures off in foreign lands!
I'm going to hit the sack. It's almost midnight and my eyes and body are sleepy. I kept my eating under amazing control today, which I was VERY proud of since we had lunch at my grandparents' house, which usually consists of having seconds and thirds because otherwise my grandmother freaks out that we're starving or something! I ate reallllly slowly and took a lot of time feeding Avery, so it looked like I ate more than I actually did. I indulged in a small piece of her homemade peach pie and a little scoop of vanilla ice cream but I was still under my calories for the day, so I don't feel guilty about it.
Good night!
