Default Who Knew?

I googled calories for Sushi and Sashimi.
Many of them are high on carbs because of rice, and sweet sauce. Some are high in fat because of mayo and again sauces.
But who knew that 2 slices of Salmon Sashimi is 164calories with 6g of fat????
I would have never guessed that!
Tuna Sashimi is better calorie wise, but not by far.

For the same amount of fish, grilled or backed salmon feels like a lot more food!

We make sushi at home, but we don't use any sauce, we use the Nori sheets, rice with vinegar and sugar, avocado, carrots, cucumbers and imitation crab meat. I don't know really what the calories would be for it, but I usually don't eat more than 8 pieces, so I am not worried.

Thank you. This leaves some hope. I love sushi, and not the fried kind, but rather the one full of fish. I try to avoid nigiri and usually do go for Sashimi, which is just fish.
The website where I looked listed salmon sashimi at 164 calories for 2 pieces, they did not specify how big or small those pieces are.
I am avoiding rice, so eating sushi themselves with rice is something I limit.
I don't restrict carbs, but I've noticed carbs call for more carbs therefore I try to minimize amount and draw them from veggies, fruits, and 1-2 teaspoons of sugar daily.
I will continue to eat sushi/sashimi, just wanted to alert everyone that it is not "an all you can eat" calories do add up.

Yup that's exactly what I did yesterday.
miso soup
4 sushi with rice and fish
4 sushi w/o rice, I basically took the fish out.
8 pieces of sashimi
9 pieces of mussells
3 shrimps in breadding
1 tiny piece of fudge (0.5sq inch)
== all together this came to like 1000 calories
And I typically eat a 300-400 calorie lunch... All this considering that as I ate I stopped often to wait and check whether I was full, and I did eat twice as less as I used to eat before.
