Lets see if I can do this.... Well it lots a lot of it "character" in the transition, but at least it's a new thread and not so long to load.

Let's make our New Years Resolution to incluce OXYCISE

I know this sounds trite, but I always do better at the beginning of things, weeks, months, and especially years, so I am beginning now to rev up and get my mind set to reall be serious about the deep breathing exercises that I Know are so good for me in so many ways.

So Please, anyone even at all interested in Oxycise, Body Flex or LifeBreathers, or anything similar, Please join me at the first of the year with a new committment to Breathe, breathe breathe.

Let's get some life back into this thread...

Okay Barbg, I just saw this new thread and pasted my reply from the old thread here. Thanks for starting a new one the old one was way too long:D!

Wow it's been a while for me since I've posted on this board. Once again life has gotten in the way but I have to say that I've been doing my Oxycise for over a week now every morning without fail and it feels really good.:D

Barbg-Thanks for holding this thread together for me. I fell hard off the exercise wagon and now with this new year in front of me I knew I had to get up and start again. I'm so glad to see that you're still here:D!

Claire- Is that you? Is it really you? I can't believe it! It was so great to see your post. I was wondering what happened to you. You're always so motivating and energetic. Now that the gang is all here lets get moving again and breathing again:D!

Meme-Hey I'm glad to see you're still here too:)! I've been gone for a while myself so don't feel bad. But I'm back and determined to lose this weight.

I have to say my wake up call was looking at my pictures from 12 years ago at how thin and great I looked as opposed to how I look now. More then just a little depressing for me. I know that I'm 12 years older too but that's no excuse for my extra weight. So with your help I'm determined to get back to the size (or close to the size) that I was in those photos. Let's make this the biggest oxygen filled year of our lives:D!

Hi all!

Well, the Musketeers are here! All four of us!

I absolutely made O a part of the New Year's regime! It's especially good now, because you can't get any kind of cardio machine at the gym. Any time of the day or night every machine has someone hanging off of it, thinking they're getting all this great cardio -- I like O better because I don't sweat so much

I started a new diet plan -- The Business Plan for the Body, and I've never had so much fun with a plan.

It's basically counting calories, but you treat your body like a company. It's hilarious!

Have a great day -- keep breathing....

Well it's a start!!! Yes, I realize it's not a great start, but a start anyway. I'm so glad we are starting this over together. I need lots of motivation, and having to answer to you usually keeps me honest.

Claire, you sig should be MY motto. It's so true... I told my husband the other day that if I could just acomplish all I want to do by reading about it, and making lists, and spending time thinking about it But then what would I have to strive for? Oh well...

Rose, Do you ever hear from NASCAR woman any more? I used to run into her post all the time, but haven' t in quite a while. The last I heard she was involved with WW, is she still, and is she skinney yer?

Claire, tell us more about the Business plan for the body, sounds like something I'd like.

Because I'm getting ready for my knee replacement surgery the ortheopedic doc has me riding the sationary bik every day, and I'm still going to water aerobic, now I' BACK on the Oxycise train there's no stopping me now.

Hi,all!

Remember that old TV show, "You Asked For It?" The sponsor was Skippy peanut butter, and I think that's where I got hooked on "putty."

Anyway, here's the skinny on the program you asked about...

If you are presently unhappy with your weight, health, and appearance, I am going to make an assumption: You lack a plan. The Business Plan for the Body is the first book to apply the concepts of a business plan to a successful weight loss strategy. The first chapters of the book are the research and development phase of the plan. Business plans traditionally start out with a Mission Statement, so that is Chapter 1. Companies research "the competition" in their industry; I did that for you in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, "Going Public," I urge you to be open, honest and publicize -- something few people do -- your intention to go into the weight-loss business. (up to now, we've been in the weight-gain business). Chapter 4, "The Management Team," discusses the importance of educating and including those around you in the development and administration of your plan. "The Financials," Chapter 5, presents the reality of weight loss by the numbers.

Following the *** phase, you enter the actual execution of the plan. You implement a proper combination of eating and exercise, Chapter 6, "Revenue Allocation," and Chapter 7, "Preservation of Capital," to facilitate weight loss. Chapter 8, "Establishing Realistic Investment Goals," encourages you to set weight-loss goals that can be attained. With your plan in action, you move to Chapter 9, "It's Starting to Work: Taking It on the Road: Keeping it Going" which explores changing environments and introduces the concept of "progression." The plan concludes with Chapter 10, "I did it! I did it!" which prepares you to live with your success, both physically and emotionally.

Sorry the post is so long, I wanted you to get a good overview. Jim Karas has a website at http://www.businessplanforthebody.com

The book is on sale at Barnes & Noble; I bought mine and couldn't put it down. You can easily incorporate Oxycise into the exercise portion.

Thanks for asking! If you want to do the program, we could maybe have a thread someplace...:D

Hi all!

WHAT?? The long thread scare ya?

I know, I know...we have all been off O'ing instead of posting...

Hope everyone is doing well today. The weather channel keeps threatening us with snow/rain/sleet mix (we're in middle Tennessee) and all we've gotten so far are light drizzle and temps in the low '50s....I bet all those poor folks in Buffalo wish they were here :^:

Seriously, it makes my heart so glad to reconnect with you all.

Have a fab day.

Okay, I copied the post about the pusiness plan for the body and plan to check out the website. I didn't do much O this weekend as I have been struck with a head cold and I can't even breath at all, much less controlled breathing. I've been thaking antihistimines and they have made me groggy, so I think I'll take another one and go to bed, and wake up tomorrow and be well rested, well motivated, and completely WELL... and get my Oxycise done, then off to the gym for water aerobics. Combine that with healthy eating, and I'll make the day. One Day at a Time...

Later

Hey!

Barbg, I'm so sorry you've got a cold! And I was teasing about the long thread! I always feel guilty when I leave long threads about anything, because I feel like I'm pigging up someone else's space for a post. Sometimes my attempt at e-humor backfires :o

We've had really dry air here so it makes me snore like a horse....which of course is very appealing to DH...NOT.

Feel better, okay?

Rose and MeMe, haven't seen hide nor hair of you all today. Hope all's o'ing well!

I plan on doing my in-the-car commuter tape in the morning...

I'm going to look up the diet...sounds like an interesting read! I'm doing WW right now...I GAINED last week...first time since I started the first of Nov. I was disappointed! I'm hoping it is just swelling, though. I've had surgery on both knees and they tend to swell when we have wet weather and we got dumped on royally yesterday...3 or 4 inches of very wet snow. Hey waterbaby...didn't you get any of that? I live at Cookeville...we must've got your share!

I did the Oxycise twice last week and walked twice. (that's probably what's wrong with my knee!) I was supposed to go walk today but didn't get to because of the snow... we were still getting some up until about 11 am today. I'll do the Oxycise tonight before going to bed and again tomorrow night then maybe I'll get to go walk on Wednesday.

ageoldie...I have been needing knee replacement surgery since I was 9 years old but they won't do it because they say I'm too young...ha! I'm 54 now and they're STILL saying I'm too young. They say I'd have to have it again in 10 years...so I'm just suffering along with it! Both of my knees started going out of place (like the ball players do) when I was 9 and I've already had surgery on both of them. A realignment on the left and arthoscopy on the right. There's no cartilage in either now. Makes it hard to exercise, huh?

Hi, all!

Hey, MeMeToo, I live in Columbia and work in Nashville. Not a speck of snow anywhere. The kids in Metro are all peeved because Cookeville got what they consider their snow

Your graphic at the bottom just about defines my success story (when it happens) in three frames!! I love it! :D

Barbg, how are you feeling? Cold any better?

Oh, Rose---where are ya?

Have a fabulous evening!

As far as I'm concerned, they can HAVE it! When there is snow, there's no school and when there's no school, I have to keep my grandson who is in kindergarten! He pesters me to death and I can't get anything done. He goes to a private school and I don't understand why in the world they aren't having school tomorrow. I can understand Putnam Co. because the buses have to run on country roads but the school he goes to is in Cookeville and the kids are all driven by car!?!

I go to Nashville every couple of months. Have 2 Doctors there and I go to Opry Mills, Hickory Hollow and the Sams at Donaldson a lot, too. (Oh yes...and the Spaghetti Factory downtown!) :dizzy: I'm planning a long weekend (alone) in May. I'm going to try to get both Dr. appointments and my mammogram all set up for Fri. and Mon. and go up on Fri. morning and stay until Tuesday. I usually do that once or twice a year...stay at Spring Hills Marriot on Elm Hill Pike...is that far from where you work?

Hi, all!

MeMeToo, I work off West End behind Centennial Park (near Centennial Medical Center). Your hotel is about 30 minutes drive-time (only because I-40 is ALWAYS backed up) -- but it's not so bad that I don't every go that way. I have family in Hermitage and go right past the Elm Hill Pike exit to get there.

Well, looks like we get 60 degree weather tomorrow. I don't remember January every being this warm.

How is everyone else today?

Hi all,

The cold's much better. I've done some Oxycise 2 days in a row!!!
At least it's a start! i actually rode my bike about 45 or 50 minutes this morning. I told my DH the other day it wasn't that it hurt or I was out of breath, I was just SO BORED!!! So today I rode with an audio tape. It really helped.

Meme: I will be 55 on Feb 23rd, but my doctors opinion is, I should enjoy the time I have now and if I need to do it again in 10years, so be it. I agree. But I do know other people whose doctors will not do the surgery unless they are 60. I need mobility NOW.

Well my computer at home died a slow death. It's a short in the motherboard, and it's a laptop that's about 3 years old, and no replacement available. Great.... we've got so much other stuff going on we will have to wait on me another computer, so my posts will not be as often as I'd like.

Keep on O'ing and have a Healthy New Year.

I'll be 55 in May...I'm planning a "get-a-way" minivacation just for me around my BD. Sorry about your laptop. I have one but rarely use it in winter. I have a card so I can access the internet and all the files on my big computer through it so I can take it outside and use it in the summer. Then I usually get Earthlink a few months during the summer so I can access the internet when we are on vacation and I go to NC and Nashville several times then. I get withdrawal if I'm without a computer very long!

I run a devotional and a bible study on the internet plus friendship pages, midi files and clipart, animations & backgroundsets. As of last May I had over 400 pages on the internet when the Go network, where most of them were, decided they would no longer host personal pages and wiped them all out. I had to start all over again!!! I got my own domain and have been slowly putting them back on so I spend A LOT of time on the computer! I've got about half of them back on now. I also have a Web Design Service that I'm trying to get up and running but it's going very slow! I did all the above on my own but recently started taking a design course from John Gilson...he's so good!!! So between all my sites and the course I guess I'd freak if my computer went out on me. I was supposed to start doing some work for Cookeville General Hospital but they decided they wanted me to go through a Temp Service to do it...I was going to have to pay the service a large percent of what I'd be making so I told them to forget it!!! I guess I'll just stick to working for myself and teaching piano!

The sun is shining and the snow is melting...hurray!!! I used to love the snow...I used to walk to school in 3 feet of the stuff in Michigan...I must be getting old!!!

What happened to everybody??? Still doing Oxycise?

I did mine again tonight. I don't know why it is so hard for me to put that tape in and spend 15 minutes breathing! But it seems to be! I'm determined to lose this weight, though and hopefully start feeling better. I've been walking several times a week, too. It's hard to get up to the track but I have to go get my grandson from school at 3 everyday so I'm trying to get an early start several times a week and go walk first. There's an indoor track at the college about 2 miles from his school and it's open to the public so it's convenient for me. You'd think the Oxycise would be convenient, too...I only have four VCRs! There's one in my bedroom, one in the livingroom, one in the kitchen and one in the rec room downstairs...so I have NO excuse! I gained 2.5 pounds last week and it hasn't gone away yet!!! I've just GOT to lose this extra weight...it's killing me! So...I'm saying next week, whatever it takes! I'm going to lower my points (I'm doing Weight Watchers) and cut out eating anything after dinner and see if that will get me started back down.

Here are a few of my sites:
Devotions:

BibleStudies:

Friendship Greetings (this one I need to add to...I used to have at least 40 pages but most of my graphics were lost when I lost the account at Go.com.

Got to go to bed...long day of cleaning and laundry tomorrow. (And try to get in my Oing!!!) Got to get my metabolism raised and start losing this weight again!!!

Why IS it so hard to put that little tape in? I'm doing fair. I've done it several times this week, but not every day like I'd planned. I haven't even done the commuter tape in the car everyday, but I sguess some is better than none. Right?

ROSE: are you still breathing? What about you WATERBABY?

I'm supposed to be working, so I'd better get to it, I'll be back when I can.

This is my only grandson Nathan at Christmas. He's almost 4.

Hi all!

I'm still here, big teeth and all.... :D

Barbg, your Nathan is a cutie! Our first grandchild was born just last week, on the tenth. His dad is already squawking about how much the little guy eats -- well, DUH!!! He's a baby!

The only movement I've had going in the last few days is when I stop fast and the jiggles catch up :p ewwww....

I can't seem to put the tape in on the way to work. I wind up yawning so much I can't keep the breath in!

I guess with all the air we suck in and blow out, we are a real bunch of windbags!!!

Have a great evening and forgive me. I'm simply full of myself tonight and don't know why. Guess I've just got a case of the "sillies"...

A ROSE by any other name would smell as sweet -- and we'd love to see a post from you, chummie!

MeMe, your attached images are hysterical! Thank you for making me laugh!

I've been really good this week. Boy it's so strange to me that I feel so much better when I do my Oxycise every morning, but I don't do it. I get up in time, there is no reason no to, but some mornings, I just don't do it.

But this has been a good week. What about the rest of you?

Hi all!

Stayed home today with just plain old exhaustion. We're trying to move, I haven't felt too chipper lately, work is ucky, and I have had mega sleep deprivation.

I slept until nearly two pm. Really rare for me. Went to bed at 10:30 last night. Just worn out.

I have my O! tape out and have looked longingly at it today. But I figure, if I'm too wiped out to eat much, too tired to do much of anything, then I don't need to add an exercise session today.

I did want to check in and say I was thinking about everyone and hope that your week has gone really well.

More later!

I've always said if I could just accomplish things by thinking about how they were done, I'd be untouchable.

I'm still plugging along, doing a lilttle Oxycise, bike riding, and water aerobics. When I went to the doctor yesterday for my pre=op checkup my weight was up. My doctor said that she was sure it was because of the lack of mobility because of my knees. I didn't have the heart to tell her I'd been exercising more the past two months than I've exercised in years!!!

Have a great week.

Wow I was so excited when I checked this board and saw all of these familiar "faces":D!

Claire-Where have you been? I've missed you. I'm glad to see you have the same wit that I remember and love:)! You always put a smile on my face.

Barbg-you are such a trooper:D! You kept this board going all the while I was gone and silent. And I'm with Claire your Nathan is adorable! So sweet:)!

Meme-Yippee you're here too:)! It's like an Oxycise reunion!

Now I know this will sound like and excuse but I do have a reason for me not posting. First my work schedule has been so tight that posting at work has been impossible and at home my computer is so outdated that posting is a chore:(! Then my son received a new computer from his dad for Christmas which took the slow computer problem away but then I came down with a severe sinus infection and now I'm just recovering from the flu:(! I just can't seem to win but I'm back now and I'm ready to start doing O again in earnest. Not only that but there is a girl at work that recently lost a bunch of weight and now she's throwing it my face how much thinner she is then I am and it really gets me mad! So lets help each other get on track and promise to do O once a day at least no matter what it takes! What do you say. When do you want to start? Today, tomorrow when? Let me know I'm here and willing!

I'm so glad you're all still here:D!

Hey Rose...I'll try...whenever you want to start. We just bought a new van yesterday but won't get it until Wednesday. It has a tape player (and a CD player and about everything else you can think of except the kitchen sink!) so I will be able to Oxycise in the car...finally! I have to go get my grandson from school everyday and it takes about 15 minutes to get there so if I can't do the tapes at home at least I can do them in the car!

I have had the crud for a week and haven't felt like doing anything until today...and I had my little 2 yr. old granddaughter all day today (she has what I had last week) so I'm pooped...but I really need to get back to breathing. I sing and I've noticed that if I do the Oxycise it is a lot easier to hold the long notes plus my voice is much stronger! I have to sing Sunday night at a fairly large church. I am also scheduled to sing "My Valentine" at a Valentine's Banquet in two weeks and I have to stretch to get a couple of the notes so Oxycising will really help!!! I give voice lessons and have introduced a couple of my student to Oxycise. I loaned them my intro. tape and one of the girl's mother told me she was doing it with her daughter and noticed that her back wasn't giving her near the problems it had been...isn't that amazing???

So...I'll check back later to see when you are going to start! 'Nite!

Here's a pic. of the kind of Van hubby bought me yesterday! It's a Pontiac Montana (except ours is dark blue/green...REALLY DARK!)

Meme-Awesome van:D! Love it! How about making a fresh start on Monday? I would say Feb 1st but that's a Friday and with the weekend looming ahead of us it's better to start on a Monday I think. What do you think? Plus I still have a little of the crud too and will probably feel better with more rest and a little more recovery time. It's been a rough year. I've always admired people that can sing. It would be great if we could get a sample of your singing:D! But you should well Oxygenated if we start O on Monday for Valentines Day. I'll check back later and see.

What about everybody else? Anyone else interested in joining us:D!

If we start Monday, It will be from my hospital bed, but I bet I could do that. Don't you Think??

My knee replacement surgery is Friday, Feb 1st. This has been the longest 2 weeks in the history of the world. Everything is all set and ready, I've got my clearance from my PCP, already done the hospital preadmittance testing, got all my instructions for the night before. All that's left is to be there at 6:00 Friday morning.
They say I'll be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days. but I have gotten a new laptop and I'll check in with all of you while I'm there.

If I don't get another chance to post before I go in, keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Barbg-I didn't know you were having surgery:(! Of course you will be in my prayers and I know all will go well. And I don't think a few breaths would hurt in the hospital bed it might help your recovery:)! I'm glad you'll have your laptop with you so you can still check up on us. Take care, get well soon and God bless:D!

Monday will be great...give me time to get over this cough! I'm not so worried about Valentine's as I am this Sunday night...I still cough when I get a deep breath and I have to sing Sunday night.

Barb...good luck on your surgery...keep us posted on how you are doing!!!

I have to get back to the WW plan. I started that the first of November and did really well on it until the week after Christmas...we went on a mini vacation and I went off a little and I've been a little off ever since! I've lost and gained the same 2 pounds for the last 3 weeks. Got to settle down now and get the rest of this weight off. I had lost 18 pounds from Nov. 1 to Jan. 1...now I've put back on 2 of that! I just have to get the rest of this off before the first of June. I still have 37 pounds (39 now) to lose to get back to 140. I'm 5'9" and at 140 I will be able to fit back into my size 10s...can't wait for that!
