I live in the country and it is a bit inconvenient to get to a gym after work. When I first started, I bought a yoga for beginners tape and would do that. Now, I usually go to the gym 3-4 times but if I'm tired I'll do the tape. I think stretching, yoga, or pilates are good places to start because they aren't as much "work" as cardio ;)

I got an elliptical machine and have yet to use it. :mad:

So, my goal for August will be to lose 8 lbs, use the elliptical for at least 15 minutes three times a week, and do my pilates video at least 2 times a week.

WE CAN DO IT!! :carrot:

I've kind of fallin' off the weight loss wagon but have gotten the courage to start again. This challenge will be a good start I think. Count me in....

I'm setting my goal at 10lbs lost and 10 hours of exercise.

chrissy-i did too last weekend big time and since i threw my bk out cannot exercise and am getting scared bc i think i may have gained bout 5 lbs but have been op since monday:)

I understand how you feel, I haven't done any major exercise in about two weeks and I'm worried about it too.

Virgo1969, I know just what you mean!! It's so hard to do anything once I sit down and take my shoes off. I walk an average of 4 miles a day at work, and a chair just feels SO good...

Just hanging in there, and doing what I can..

So close to onederland!! I haven't been there in about 3 years.

I know that some of this is water weight but it's still encouraging. Plus, I've been working out like crazy because of a wedding next week. Yeah, not expecting miracles, I just want to feel good in my dress and indulge in a little wedding cake! :hungry:

p.s I bought a pair of spanx power panties for under my dress. Holy moly, those babies suck you in! Definetly recommending them. Word to the Wise: try them before you buy, what I thought would be my size was a wee bit tight. :D

Well, for my first weigh-in in August I am up one pound :dizzy: It may sound discouraging, but last month I lost 5 pounds the first week in July and then had so many ups and downs that I only lost 3 pounds for the entire month. I know I gained due to TOM, so I anticipate losses for the rest of the month!

I have decided to recommit myself to the Weight Watchers Lifestyle. My recommittment date: August 4, 2007 with a restart weight of 250.8. this is 2.6 lbs from my starting weight back on April 6, 2007. I will follow the lifestyle and dedicate myself to allowing me to have a healthier lifestyle for myself and my family.

I joined weight watchers on July 24th and and so far i've lost 7.5 lbs. I have to weigh in tomorrow I hope I lost at least another 2 or 3. I want to join in on this august goal stuff. So my goal for august is going to be 8 pounds. I've already lost 3 pounds in august so 5 more ladies!!! Good luck to all of you!:carrot:

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing with their monthly goal. So far so good for me. My goal is to lose 5lbs this month, and so far I am down 2. I've been sticking with my exercise plan too. since I lost the 2 pounds my points have been lowered, so I really need to exercise to earn some points!

I've lost only half a pound last week. I was alittle bit discouraged I think its because I wasn't drinking all my water. But I'm back on track this week making sure I do drink above and beyond my water and exercising an extra day this week. So my goal was to lose 8lbs this month and i'm down 3.5 so far.

I am up another pound this week :( It's not a surprise but I don't know how to get my head on straight. Every Monday (that's my weigh in day) I tell myself I'm going to start fresh and follow the plan. Unfortunately, after a couple days (sometimes just hours) I screw it up. I know in my head that I'm sabatoging myself but I don't know how to stop. I'm getting discouraged but I don't want to give up. I guess I just need to take it one day at a time.

I hope you all don't mind me jumping in here even though August is underway! I restarted Weight Watchers on July 30th. My first week I lost 6 pounds, but this past week I gained 1 pound. I'm not too upset. I went over my flex and target points all weekend. Anyhow, my goals for the challenge are to track my points every day and attend meetings even if I have a bad week. I have to face the music no matter what! For some reason if I set too many weight loss targets it backfires on me :shrug:. I'm just looking forward to getting my 10% goal. I'm also trying to get some exercise in. I just got an exercise bike, so I'm going use that for now. It's too hot outside for me. LOL. I'm sucha sissy!

You all are doing really good. You're all such an inspiration!!

Princess- I have weigh-in's on Monday nights, too!! It does make it challenging. The weekends are tougher for me since I'm not on a regular schedule. Whatever you do, don't give up!! You have really done incredible with your weightloss!:congrat:

Princess, don't get discouraged. I have my days where I totally screw up up too. I don't go to meetings, but I do my own weigh in on Mondays here at home. It is really hard after the weekend! I find that planning out my meals for the day really helps me keep on track. Maybe you could sit down and plan out a few days of meals. Don't give up! you've come so far!

Rebel, I have an exercise bike that I love. I also am a sissy when it comes to being out in the heat. I would much rather ride me bike that located right in front of my air conditioner!
I need to get off the computer chair and get onto my bike. hope everyone has a great day!

Well, i'm up a half a pound but refusing to change my ticket because i want it gone and am going to make it happen. :club:

I kind of figured that would happen. I had the wedding on Saturday and I did indulge in a few bites of wedding cake and some cranberry and vodkas. But back on the horse and ready to get to Onederland!

Oh, I did have a nice surprise before the wedding. My dress that I ordered (which i measured myself a ton of time before I bought it) had to be taken in! :carrot:

Keep it up ladies! Keep those heads up high, we can do this!

How is everyone doing so far this week? I didn't start off too great. I've already used 17 flex points and still have several days to go. Yesterday I did have 7 of my regular points left for the day. I really want a nice loss this week, so I'm totally dedicated!

bluehippo- I'm glad to see that I'm not the only sissy out here. LOL. My co-worker has just taken up jogging this summer and is doing over 2 miles a day. No way! I can't even imagine that.

Erica- Congratulations on the dress being too big. That feels fantastic!

Erica, that's awesome that your dress has to be taken in! If your clothing is starting to fit you better, I wouldn't worry so much about that half pound. you will lose it next week! I can only hope that when I go to get my wedding dress fitted it has to be taken in. I haven't tried it on for a few months, and the wedding is getting closer and closer!!
Last night wasn't such a good night for me. I think I ate everything in sight. The wedding stress is getting to me a little bit.
Rebel, I don't know how your co-worker does it. I cannot stand the heat. I love going for walks, but not when it's this hot. I can't wait for fall so I can get outside more!
I know I used a lot of flex points last night. I didn't even keep track. Yesterday was such a busy day that I didn't keep track of anything I ate. This morning I'm doing much better. I have my meals planned out for the next 2 days. That usually helps me stay on track.

Hi all, I have been having a much better week. I have stuck to my points every day and drunk a ton of water. Last night I splurged on dinner thanks to work stress but back on plan today. I actually think I will show a decent loss on Monday, which after three weeks of gains will be great!

Eryca--I refuse to change my ticker also because I am determined that those 2 pounds will be gone next week!

Good morning everyone.
This morning was my weigh in day, and I didn't gain or lose anything. I exercised so much last week. for some reason I seem to lose more weight when I don't exercise as much. I don't get it. I'm going to cut down to working out 3 days instead of 5 and see what happens.

How did you all do this weekend?

I think that I did ok. Yesterday I snacked a little too much, but it was still a better weekend than normal. It helped because my husband was away most of the weekend and so we didn't go out to eat at all.

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I am NOT ready for it be Monday and to have the weekend over. Uggh. I work at a school and last Thursday was our first day back. Prior to that I had 3 weeks off this summer. I'm still on vacation mode. LOL. I really wish that I could work from home. That would great!!

I work at a school, too. Today was my first day back and I was just starved by 4:00. I ate way too much on my way home, and also once I got home. Yikes! I'm planning better tomorrow. I'm bringing 94% fat-free popcorn and eating that on the way home.

I won't make my exercise goal this month. I was out walking last Thursday (with my WW leader no less!) and took a huge fall--flat out on the concrete!! I had wondered about damage to my kneecap, but the swelling and bruising went down. Also have a huge gash in the knee that's finally healing, so I'm not limping so much anymore. I'll probably be ready to start up again next week, but for now walking still doesn't sound too appealing. My daughter offered me her volleyball kneepads for when I start up again!

Susan- So sorry to hear about your fall! Take it easy when you decide to start the walking again. It takes time. I messed up my knee about 6 weeks ago and I'm finally just starting to feel comfortable putting pressure on it. Take care of yourself!

Princess- Congratulations on the scale moving in the right direction again!

I lost 1 pound and this week. We won't have weigh in this coming Monday due to Labor Day, so I really need to continue to stay focused through the weekend.

Susan, I'm sorry you fell! I wouldn't want to walk either if I took a fall like that. hope you are feeling better.
Andrea, my weigh in didn't go so well. I ate a LOT of food over the weekend. I had my bridesmaids over to help me out with wedding stuff, and I treated them to pizza and beer. My plan was to eat and drink in moderation, but that didn't work! On Monday after I weighed myself, I decided to join ww online. I didn't want to spend the money, but I think if I'm paying for it, that will motivate me more. Plus it's so easy to keep track of what I'm eating. congrats on your 1lb!
