I joined this site today after reading some of your postings. Y'all (yes I"m very southern) were very encouraging to each other. I joined WW AGAIN for the upteenth time but this time is different. How? Well I found out in the past few months I am prediabetic and allergic to gluten (wheat, barley, oats, rye). Needless to say, bread is out of my diet. My dad passed away 2 weeks ago with cancer. His doctor strongly recommended I re-evaluate my health issues.
I chose to try the CORE plan since it is closest to my recommended way of eating for my problems. PLUS, I am going a cruise in October to celebrate 30 years of marriage and my hubby's 50th b'day. The big 50 for me is next year, so this give's me a big jump on being healthier at 50.
I look forward to getting to know y'all.

Hi PoohP

I'm mostly a lurker around here but I find this site is probably one of the best out there - people give advice, information, personal experiences and sometimes they're just there to listen :D

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. :( That's rough. Good for you for finding some positive light in such a sad experience to help you see the need to focus on your own health.

I'm sure you'll love it here and much as the rest of us do. :welcome2:

Hi and welcome to 3FC. I'm so very sorry about the loss of your father.

I look forward to hearing more from you. I'm really liking that Southern accent of yours. Good luck to you on reaching your goals. You absolutely CAN do this. Absolutely. :smug:

Sorry to about your Dad. My Mother died in 2005. You are never prepared for the death of a loved one even when they have been sick for a long time or die suddenly.

This is a great place to be. The people here are genuinely helpful with whatever questions you ask. They are here no matter what. I hope we hear from you often. I do not post as much as I did in spring and winter. We own a campground and I'm pretty busy right now. Good luck.

Very sorry to hear about your loss of your father, I can only imagine how difficult that has been.

But, you'll find a terrific group of folks here to help you on your journey. For me, finding this site was such a great moment - so much information and support from people going through the same thing I am, and all for free! Stop by here anytime and let us know how things are going.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I lost my father last year and it is very hard.

This board is awesome! If you need support, encouragement or just someone to listen you will find it here. If you have a question someone will have the answer. It's a great place and we are glad to have you with us!
