I just wanted to post a great big thank you to all of you wonderful people here! I joined the last week of June, and had big goals. I always felt very welcomed. Then, after a week and a half of doing things "right", or what I thought was right, I was upset and disappointed. I had gained 5 pounds. So of course I freaked out. Came here, and got very encouraging answers. I am certain now that a huge part -if not all- of my gain came from the fact that I had started actually exercising instead of "honey, hand me the remote please." But within that thread, I also had answers that made me really look at me. I had said I "had watched what I ate." and "been ok with water." A couple of people (sorry, can't remember who now.) questioned me on these comments, and it made me sit, think, and really reflect. It was at that point that I had my light bulb moment. I can't just say "oh, I ate vegetables today instead of junk" and call it good enough. It was at that point when I started counting calories and fat grams, and I started documenting everything I ate. And I started being more serious about logging my actual exercise, with a timer, so it was 18 minutes instead of "about 20" on the gazelle. This morning, my weight was 294.7. Within two weeks, I've lost a little over 10 pounds. That blows my mind, to be honest. I NEVER thought I would stick to it, but now I can't wait to never see a 29- number again. I mentioned something to my mom about 10 pounds gone and my niece and nephews mom said "sounds like its gonna be easy for you." I just smiled and said nothing. Didn't want to go there with her. I know it won't be easy. Easy is stopping for fast food on the way home, plopping on the couch and watching tv all night til bedtime. Easy is saying but I dont have any health issues now, it's ok. Easy is using the time I currently use to log in here and check in and playing a game online instead. But I know that even though it isn't going to be easy, it will be worth it. And I know I can do it. Thanks to the encouragement and inspiration I find here. And I know that someday I'll make it to onederland, and I know that when I do, two things will happen. I'll vow to do everything within my power to never again see a weight that starts with a 2, and all you wonderful people will cheer for me. So, call me a sap for getting emotional over 10 pounds gone, but I cried a couple of happiness tears this morning. I truly believe I wouldnt be doing well if it weren't for the great support, tips, and advice here. So, just wanted to say thanks. :grouphug:

Awesome job -- I love leaving a "number" behind me!! Out of 50's, 40's, 30's, etc.!! You are doing great!! And, as a "card carrying member of 3FC" it's all about the "pass it on" principal :D -- whatever great advice you receive from here I feel you will eventually pass on to a new member!!! Keep up the good work.
