Hi all, just found this web site and it seems great. Another tool for motivation, that is what I need. I really like being able to post questions out there and be able to read other stories for engouragement.

Well here goes, my name is Tami. I am 31 live in the sunny state of Fl and have been battling weight issues my whole life. I have been on just about every diet and program you can imagine. in 03 I lost 70 pounds and felt great.. then I met my husband and love just ook over from there. I did not follow anything that I had to do to lose the weight and was going to the gym everyday to lose the weight, but I signed up for school at night and was working full time. So I quit the gym when I was going 7 days a week. Well I went up to 230 lost 30 to get married on 7/23/05 and then stopped taking B/C and all my problems began. Started a new job gained 30 pounds so fast I couldn't belive it. Then foubnd out that I have PCOS and have been dealign with that. I have been trying to lose weight since Feb 07.. but not trying really hard.. just kept finding an excuse to eat what ever I wanted and say oh I will just start tomorrow well that stopped on 06/01/07 when I signed up for the gym and then followed somewhat of a diet, but didn't work for me. My husband and I started the SBD on 07/02/07 and have been doing great. I have lost weight and have been feeling great. I even signed up with a personal trainer at the gym and wow what a workout. I also do 1 hr of cardio 5-6 times a week.

I can't wait to get down to 135 I don't even remember when I was that weight maybe in 6 grade or something. When I met my husband in 04/2003 I was around 160/170 so it would be great to get down to 135 and look all hot and sexy!! I am hoping to accomplish this is less than a year and am working hard at it.

I hope to talk to you all soon.

Welcome to both of you! As you've probably already realized, this is a great place to visit for advice, inspiration and all around good information. I'm not the most prolific poster here, but I try to stop by when I can, and I always find something great to read. Hope you both continue posting and share your journey with us.

Hi and welcome!!!! It's great to have you on board. You've come to the right place for support, advice and encouragment.

If you check in the Dieting with Obstacles section, you'll find a group devoted to gals with PCOS. You might want to check that out.

It looks like you're off to a GREAT start and already heading in the right direction - DOWN. Good luck to you. I look forward to hearing lots more from you. :)

Welcome aboard, I am new to this site also, it's my second week, and everyone here is so supportive and understanding, I try to read as much as I can to pick up tips and tried and true methods from the others.

It's great to have both of you join us! I know that there are people on this board who have lost 100 pounds or more in a year, so it can be done. And doing it with people who understand and can empathize, commiserate, and rejoice with you makes it both easier and more joyful (though I wouldn't go so far as to characterize it as easy - just worthwhile).

Robin, I was reading your story and wow you look great! Even becoming a personal trainer that is awesome. I might even do that as well. But first I am finsihing up my degree in Business Mgmt and then I will see what is next. Questions for your on Personal training. I have a personal trainer that I work out with once a week, since that is all I can afford, I pay like 117 for 4 weeks. I am to nervous to get on the machines myself so that I why I like working on them with a personal trainer. I have been doing situps just about every day. 50 are done like with an ab roller, 50 more laying on a bench with in incline and I raise my legs up to my chest for my lower stomach. Now the Assistant Mgr there I thought had told me you don't want to do to many situp right now since that will make your stomach muscle biger and push out your stomach. What is your take on this.. I am trying to lose my belly and gain a bigger one.. I am in much need help! I have been walking btw 2.5 - 3.0 miles a day sometimes I take Sat and Sun off.

PS. Great Pictures Again! I am sure you feel awesome!

Tami

Yes I love the cook book, but I also use this site http://www.southbeachcenturyclub.com/
I have been making all kids of good stuff. Last week I made spagatti squash lasanga. Wow let me tell you that was awesome. I found the recipe some where else but it was yummy. From the link I have made. Peanut Butter fluff and Lime pie and I love those for my snack lat4e at night when I crave soemthing sweet. I also made the Whit Chili with Great Northern Beans with Turkey All my that was yummy too. And the stuff mushroom with cream cheese and low fat sasuage. This site has so many yummy stuff on it. I am a simple type for looking for things to cook. I am picky with the things that I eat. I like normal food. And I dont want to sepnd forever in the kichen cooking. We will have to share recipes and such that is always fun.

Talk to you later,
Tami

I think this board is amazing, I have been a member for only a short time but I have found so many of the boards are extremely supporitve and informative.

I also find that moving my ticker keeps me going, its so fun to see it go down.

You are on the right track you have a good plan and support with your husband!

My email is..

Hey Tami -

Since you're new, I thought I would just let you know that spammers troll sites like this for e-mail addresses. They use programs to do it automatically. Generally speaking, if you want to exchange e-mail addresses, it's better to do it
in a Private Message. (Just click on the user name of the person you want to PM, and you will be given an option of sending a PM to that person.) If you do want to take out your e-mail address from the response above, you can edit your response just by opening the thread and clicking on "edit response" below your name.

Some of those recipes sound really appealing. Thanks for sharing the website.
