Would anyone be interested in a thread to check in daily? I saw that someone tried a while back but it didn't last and there seems to be a great group here now that are all looking to succeed and I thought it might be fun and helpful to have place to post...Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!
Thanks so much :)

Sounds good to me too. I'm in. Do we pick a day of the week for everyone to check in or let each pick our own day and check in then?

I was just thinking to check in every day if you want - just to say how you are doing, chat with each other, if there are any problems or questions? Just a place to say Hi if you want :D

Hi Everyone,
Count me in too. I started the Fat Smash a month ago. But I had a lot of parties and functions that it was really hard to stay on detox, with all that. I gained 4 lbs! Well, I'm not too happy about that. I'm starting again on July 16th. I want to lose 33 lbs before December. I have not been under 200lbs in over 10years.
I think checking with each other everyday will help us all.
Good luck!

I just started day 2 of the detox phase and let me tell you...I LOVE this diet! i'm not hungry anymore and what i eat...which is a lot of fruit fills me up! Yesterday wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be and i def. am looking forward to stepping on the scale in 9 days and seeing how the progress went. Question though: Has anyone started the diet when they were a week away from their "monthly friend"? I am and I'm scared that when i weigh myself next week it won't be a significant difference and I'll be angry and upset.

Hey everyone!
So I have semi-successfully completed my first day of detox. It wasn't bad, (not that I expected it to be) the only problem was I had to pee every 2 seconds.
My only thing I didn't get to do was exercise. Someone stole (maybe misplaced) my Tae-Bo dvd. I was livid, never let family members move into your house. Everyone claimed they "saw it there" but yet it was no where to be found. I was so angry I went to bed. So today I'm gonna do 60 mins of exercise to make up for my lack of proper exercise yesterday.
I wanted to ask has anyone done jump-roping as an exercise? I bought a jump-rope a year ago and I found it while I was looking for my Tae-Bo dvd and thought...hmmmm maybe I'll do jump-rope as an exercise.
Day 2 here I come!!!!!

mind if I join in too, curvy? ;)
GoalDown50: I'm in the same boat you are with the monthly friend.. so if we don't lose as much as we expect, we'll at least have a reason why!
I was hungry yesterday most of the day until I had a 1/2 protein bar as snack 2. That was better. The water is filling me up, and I almost find the breakfast and snack1 so close together to be too much, it's like I'm forcing the food down. But by 9:30, I'm hungry again, so I'm going to get some baby carrots and radishes that I brought in today. I'l looking forward to my 2nd meal, but not sure I can wait until 11! I'm hoping as my body gets used to eating like this that I will not be as hungry. I also think that going from working out once/week to working out twice/day is taking a toll on me. I'm pretty tired most of the day too. But I'm pretty determined to get through it!

Fierliss I agree with you! I had to pee like every 10 mins! It was crazy! But I guess it's kind of good because you are "flushing" out all the negative stuff in your body.
Does anyone know if Broccoli with Garlic sauce would be good to eat during Phase I?
Fierliss
07-17-2007, 10:10 AM
GoalDown I meant to answer ur broccoli and garlic question in my other post.
I think it would be fine, except make sure about what the garlic sauce may consist of, since it's a restaurant it may have other ingredients other than garlic. It may have excess oil or even salt. If it's possible I would say ask for the garlic sauce on the side and you can dip the broccoli into it.

Morning: 3 slices honey dew and cantelope
Lunch: salad with veggies and garbanzo beans
Green beans salad (cold green beans, onion, vinegar and a little splenda
Dinner: Veggie Chili.........boy am I gonna miss the cornbread with this!!!
WATER...WATER... and more water....
I have a headache today and I did yesterday but i think it might be because i have cut out my diet cokes.
Good luck to everyone today!!!

I'm getting headaches too. I had a little headache last night and now I have one. I think it's because of cutting out the caffeine as well. today's menu consists of:
Morning: oatmeal with a banana
Snack1: Pineapples and Watermelon
Lunch: Broccoli with Garlic sauce
Snack2: Yogurt
Dinner: A salad with LF dressing and maybe some spanish rice
i think my workout is going to be Harvey's "Fighting Fit, Fighting Fat" DVD workout which is an hour long. This way it will make up for the workout I didn't do yesterday. I'm so anxious to want to step on the scale in 9 days. i hope there is a significant improvement!

Hey everyone just stopping by to see how everyone is doing.
It's DAY 4 for me and so far so good. The only thing that I did that wasn't "diet-sensible" was I had a mini york peppermint patty. Mmmmm it was sooooooo freaking good. Other than that I have been sticking to it. I've been drinking water water water! I made a big batch of my black beans with rice and grilled veggies so I have been eating that since monday. Today I will make another meal in bulk so I can have that for a few days.
I feel pretty good I may stay on phase 1 for another week just because I like it so much. I'm really not craving steak or chicken. I would liek to have some shrimp but thats all.
Exercise is going well I have been walking and jumping rope.
How is everyone else doing?

Hello ladies, it's day 4 as well for me Fierliss...I'm doing very well...it's been pretty hard cause my fiance is constantly eating his meats and ice cream sandwiches, and i so badly want them but i've been good and sticking to the plan. Yesterday's meal plan was:
Breakfast - oatmeal and an orange

Lunch- salad with green peppers and ff catalina dressing, vegetable fried rice
Snack 2- mixed berry yogurt
Dinner- whole grain herb & chicken (which was just seasoning) rice with corn and green beans
everything was soo yummy yesterday! for exercise i walked around my fiance's neighborhood twice for 30 mins, while walking his 12lb yellow lab! boy did she keep me walking fast! lol! im already feeling a little bit of a difference, my clothes are starting to feel better. lol...i had oatmeal and some grapes for breakfast...i need to get some eggs up in here but i think ima do that for breakfast this weekend! well ladies have a good day! and keep smashing!

I will start FS on Monday and I'm really looking forward to it. I have really preplanned, so I think I'm ready. I cleaned out my freezer and cabinets of non-FS foods and replaced them with all veggies, different types of beans, frozen fruits, and brown rice. On Sunday I will go to the grocery store for all the fresh fruits and veggies and then I'll be totally ready. I have a rough menu sketched out for phase 1, too. So, I will gladly post my menus starting Monday, July 23rd.:D

Good Morning ladies, Day 5 for me...and I'm feeling great!!! Only 4 more days and i can step on the scale to see the progress...I'm feeling alittle bit bloated today, but that's because i'm close to TOM! Last night for dinner, i made stuffed green peppers with veggie ground meat, brown rice with chipotle seasoning, tomato sauce and a little bit of italian seasoning...it was delicious...i even had my fiance and his mother eating it and they loved it! with this i had a salad with green peppers, carrots, radishes, and peas w/ ff ranch dressing...it was so good! now my fiance is even asking me what i'll be making for dinner tonight.:chin: guess ill have to hunt through all the FS recipes lol! he even wanted to go for a walk after dinner...but i had so much to do that i didn't go!
...i took an off day and ill pick up this weekend...probably with a lot of swimming!! well good luck ladies!! and keep smashing!

Good morning people
Day 5 and I am sooooooooooo happy. Today is casual day in my office so that means JEANS!!!!! I went into my closet and said hey let me try on some jeans I couldn't even fit a few months ago and guess what? THEY FIT!!! I almost jumped for joy. I tried on the 4 pair I couldn't even zipper a few months ago and they all fit like a glove. Yay me
I was soo tempted to weigh myself last night since my son and nephew were weighing themselves but I fought the urge.
Yesterday I bought morningstar farms veggie sausage patties and had breakfast for dinner with egg whites with mushrooms (red, yellow, green, orange) peppers, onion and fresh chopped garlic. It was sooo good. I'm starting to fall in love with all Morningstar farms stuff. It tastes like weird textured meat!
So far today I have had a mixed berry smoothie (made with 2 cups of vanilla skim milk, 6 oz of vanilla non-fat yogurt and frozen mixed berries) for breakfast. I plan on having oatmeal for snack (I know I'm backwards)and A BIG green salad for lunch (with some wishbone salad spritzers).
I swear this is the easiest diet I have ever been on!!!
Have a (fat)SMASHING Good day Everyone. (Yes I know I'm corny..lol)

Good morning ladies, I to am on day 5. Fierliss you are so right this is the easiest diet. This morning for breakfast I had a omlet with peppers and onion and 1/2 of a grapefruit. For lunch I will be having a salad with ff dressing. I am so anxious and I can't wait until that final weigh in. We'll I have to confess I did weigh my self last night and the results were good. I am going to move that scale from my bathroom. It keeps calling me..lol..but I must say that I was pleased with the results so far :carrot: I can't wait to share the news. I don't know what's for dinner just yet I will think of something. Gals we are almost there Good Luck!

pack your snacks the night before and make sure you stick to eating them when you are hungry. my mom and sister work with me and they constantly go out to eat for lunches...so i just ask them to bring me back a salad most of the time...and then eat my lil snacks during the day...i mostly stick to fruits, veggies, and yogurt.

ChiTownRN - Love your name - I am originally from the Chicago area :D are you from there or there now?
Just wanted to answer your question - I think the best thing to do is bring LOTS of food with you and focus on that. Yummy fruit and veggies etc salads mixed with beans, rice, whatever you need...I work in an office of all very young, thin, high energy people and our kitchen looks like an aisle from Sam's Club..every cookie, snack, candy bar you can imagine and in huge bulk...it can be overwhelming :dizzy: Just try and keep the focus on you and how you want to feel and look! This is a great plan and you are doing terrific...:carrot:

Hey everyone.
Today is day 7 for me (2days to go til weigh in) and everything is going great. I only had one mishap this weekend. I went to a birthday party and I ended up having a shot and a beer (it was light at least). I also ate some chips because I was STARVING and my friend had nothing healthy what so ever. I didn't plan on being there long so i didn't bring any snacks for myself. Thats my fault though. My body decided to punish me by giving me the worst stomach ache ever so I learned my lesson.
I resisted a bigger temptation, I went to my friends house for our weekly game night with all of our friends. They had pasta with sauce and NACHOS. The house smelled delicious so I just enjoyed the smell. I even had to feed my god-daughter. I ate a pickle and went on with the game playing.
I found my TAE-BO dvd so I'm about to add that to my exercise regime.
I'm thinking about going on an extended phase one with a bit of modification once I'm officially done with phase 1. Is any one else doing that too?
MissVee
07-22-2007, 09:59 AM
I will be continuing on phase 1 with a little modification. I have finally come to the realization thats its all about eating healthy and thats it. We all will lose wait as long as were consuming all of those empty calorie foods. Which are the foods that we so badly want from time to time. I can't intil I can start incorporating them back into diet. But at that same token in moderation I will not binge out!:ebike: I have not had any cravings though and it feels good and I am no longer hungry like I use to be. I must say thanks to everyone for all of the recipes submitted they were a huge help. 2 more days until the final weigh I will keep you posted off to church!:crossed:

Hi everyone!
Day 1 for me! Everything has gone well so far. I had the kitche stocked with all phase 1 foods, so that was really helpful today.
Breakfast- 1 cup oatmeal made with 1/2 cup soymilk and 1/2 cup water, diced apple thrown in.
Snack- Small bowl of watermelon
Lunch- Salad with black beans, corn, green peppers, tomato, cucumber and 2 tbsp fat free italian.
Snack-yogurt
Dinner- will be...Mexican rice, side of pinto beans, and some steamed veggies.
Snack- 1 1/2 cups soymilk and banana
My husband is doing the plan with me, too. He already warned me that he might be crabby due to the lack of his favorite foods. lol. Exercise-wise will be kinda tough. I think I hyperextended my knee a few weeks ago and it's still sore. Then last week I busted my toe on the same leg, so I'm not able to be real physical. I might try to go swimming.
Hope you all have a great Monday!

Good morning ladies!!! DAY 9 FOR ME! So excited!!! I feel so good and my clothes fit alittle looser....i am currently wearing a pair of pants that a week ago, where way too tight...and they fit snugly now but its also TOM so who knos maybe next week they will be even looser! I cant wait to add a little bit of chicken in here...just for variety...i'm content with the food im eating but i need that "spice-up" to make dinner more interesting. I think for lunch tomorrow i will make a can of chicken salad with FF ranch dressing and pepper instead of mayo...seeing as i make it with ranch any other time!

Hello everyone,
and curvygirl 46 thanks for your response and yes I was born and raised in
Chicago, and no I am not there but in 7 more days I'm going home! I'm a travel nurse on assignment in Orlando, Florida. Now on to my very stressful day, took the kids to Universal Studios, and oh did I suffer folks! Doritos, nachos, chili dogs, double cheeseburgers..... you get the picture?
I was so depressed but hey I hung in there! I ate my oatmeal and fruit before I got there, drank plenty of water and I had plenty of fruit and veggies, but I was very miserable and oh so tempted. This is phase 1 day 6 and I guess the scale will tell, and hopefully my will power paid off.

Hey ya'll
So yesterday was my last day on phase 1 and guess what? I lost between 9lbs-10.5 lbs (I weighed my self last night and then this morning). Oh yea go me.
I dont have any cravings for meat and I also still have all my morningstar veggie meat so I'm gonna stick with that until I am done. So it's a modified Phase 1 because I want to eat shrimp. Thats about the only thing I am adding oh and I am upping my exercise to 45 mins instead of leaving it at an 30 mins.
GoalDown50
07-25-2007, 10:32 AM
yeah im gonna step up my exercise routine...i think thats where i messed up...last week i did 1 day of workout dvd for 30 mins, 1 day of walking for 30 mins and the 3 days of 30 min swimming. so far this week i havent done anything...i think im putting in my dvd today and making myself go all the way through it...which is an 1 hr...its intense...but i need it! i want to shed myself of this weight!
hey everyone...just checking in...weighing in tomorrow...second week of phase 2...should have a steady drop...im hopefully getting about a 6-7 pound drop since wednesday....given that i have been working out a little more even though i never really added any of the foods from phase 2...
an additional setback aside from the shin splints...messed up my shoulder last night at the gym...heard a tear, rip, pop, crack (all of the above) with one of my tricep exercises...after doing a couple things...im determining that it is a shoulder injury based on the motion of the exercise and where it actually hurts (tricep feels fine, shoulder not so good)...sooo i may have to get to a sports doctor/therapist if the pain continues in the next couple of days...for now i will have to stick only to cardio...i actually went 55 minutes of cardio last night instead of my normal 25-35 (i only do about 25-35 since i was doing weight training right before)....so im going to increase cardio to about 55-60 minutes per day now and just stick to that....kinda bummed about this :(

good job everyone! I will start posting in this forum also..I lost 4 lbs and 6 inches on Phase 1 and I've been on Phase 2 since saturday..I weighed today and I'm down half a pound...not too bad but it is time to 'up' my workouts so I can lose much more!
weight today: 140
must escape the 140ssss and say hello to 130ssss
down to 172 since last thursday morning of 176....so 4 pound drop...in week 2 of phase 2....goal by august 16th = 162/160....next goal from there will depend on how i like the low 160 weight....if i dont...then drop down to low 150....145 is "good" weight for me but we'll see...i would prefer not to drop down there...i'll be a stick... :|

Good Morning,
Today was my weigh-in for phase 1 and I was happy to find out that I lost 7 lbs! More than I was expecting since I have always had an extremely hard time losing weight. This diet rocks! Since this is only my 2nd message, I have to say that these boards were such an inspiration and guide when I started that I had to join. Have a great day!
