Default rock climbing anyone?

I was reading a different thread and someone commented on things they can do now that they couldn't when they were heavier. That got me to thinking...

I've discovered in the last 3 months or so that I absolutely adore rock climbing. I love it! It's hard and it's tiring, but it's exhilirating. I never, ever would have gone climbing at my highest weight, I was too embarassed. I always had an excuse why I couldn't go. Now, I wait impatiently for the weekends we go (about 2-3 times per month).

I even let DH take pictures of me last time we went, imagine that. Of course, since he was on the ground and I was 50+ feet above it they're not the most flattering shots (butt shots, really), but I still let him take them!

Discovering new loves like this is one of my very favorite things about losing weight. I never in a million years would have thought I'd love climbing. And running, and clothes shopping...

Thumbs up

It sounds like you really enjoy this, that is great. Do you do indoor climbing or outside ? I have issues with heights so I could never do this. That is a great accomplishment. Congrats.

We climb outside right now. It's so beautiful here and we have some great climbing spots. Might as well get in the outdoor climbs before the snow comes. During the winter we'll move it to the YMCA.

I'm scared of heights so even though I'd like to rock climbing, it isn't in my future I do go hiking and like doing scrambles though where you may do small portions of what could be considered rock climbing but if I fall, I know it'll be a short drop

Rock climbing is on my short "to-do" list! Our gym has a nice facility! I can't wait to try!
