Hi everyone,

My name is Heather and I have been wanting to start a diet for quite some time now. I just didn't have the willpower until now. I have been researching diets and I think the best one is the Best Life Diet by Bob Greene. In the past I have had a really hard time sticking to any diet. I hope this time I can do it and make my goal! I currently weigh 268 which is the most I have ever weighed uggg!! I am going to start tomarrow. Wish me luck and pray I can stick to this one cause I am tired of being overweight.

Thank you for your reply, I have been on the best life diet for three days now. I seem to be doing really well and feel great! I started walking 1 mile every morning. I think the hardest thing for me is to not eat anything after 7:30 pm I just cant seem to do it. I am not eating alot after 7 pm maybe a handful of nuts or something. It's just really hard for me because everyone is watching TV and snacking!!! What do I do to gain control of myself? It's almost like an addiction to eat a night and it's driving me crazy!! I guess I need to focus on the positive and give myself credit for starting to walk and change my eating habits. I am going to keep trying!!!! Anyone have any suggestions on what to do about me eating at night??? HELP!

Most of us here are following the YOU: On a Diet plan, but a lot of the principles are pretty much the same.

I personally struggle with not eating at night - I've given myself 8:30pm as a cut-off for a 10:30pm bedtime, and that seems to work pretty well for me in terms of weight loss. So, maybe start in small steps - 9pm or 8pm,... first, then gradualy move the time up.

I personally love a glass of milk and a handful of almonds as a nighttime snack!

Keep up the good work - you're doing well on a lot of the changes you've made, so you will make progress!

HI there. I found your message looking for a Bob Greene thread. There was one this winter but it seems to have fizzled. I would be interested - it seems realistic. Please post here if you find one!
