CJ, I read all your posts from last night. Nobody else was up, so you were talking to yourself. I find I do that sometimes, but it's nice to hear yourself once in a while... LOL

I have voted on the size of the threads and also went into the profile to change my thread length. Thanks for the info, it makes a difference.

I am really watching my weight closely now because I still have a few pounds that I want to lose before Christmas. If I am not careful at this time of year, my weight slips up, then I get frustrated and don't want to go back to the weight loss program. I have done very well, but there are a couple of parties over the next 2 days that I must make sure I manage well.

Today, I wore my the skirt that I bought for Christmas last year, thinking that it wouldn't be too bad with a long sweater over it. I have rolled it up three times to make the waste smaller, and finally had to pin it to keep it from falling off my hips. I am usually the only woman that works in this building, so want to make sure that I don't give the guys a show today. I'd never hear the end of it...

Guess I better go. The boss just walked in and thinks I am busy working. Little does he know.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!! Did ya hear that? WI today has me down 2 lbs! 1/2 more lb to go to get back to where I was before our trip .... whew! Next week I'm gonna get out of the 170's! For sure!!!!!

Peggy: I know I was talking to myself last nite (this morning?) but someone hears me eventually! LOL I just know you are going to make your goal for christmas. Good job about the skirt. Well, guess I better go post our updates. Busy day today.

Hi Ya'll,

Well, CJ, you sure kept yourself amused last night! LOL! I hate it when I'm up and no one is online late at night. Thank goodness, I usually fall asleep easily! CONGRATS on the weight loss--that is wonderful :)

Oh, and how do you make those beautiful graphics you always have at the end of your signature?

Sweet Tooth (Peggy, right?), I think it's about time you go SHOPPING, WOMAN! LOL! That skirt must be a 'little' too big! Must feel wonderful though knowing what used to fit barely fits, in the right way!

So where is everyone else this lovely morning? *COUGH* *COUGH* Ya, I love this kind of weather. :(

Better late than never! Just checking in. I'm swamped at work and am totally unprepared for my 2:30 meeting. Just heard about it an hour ago. Ah, who cares? That's my attitude today. Took a Doan's PM pill last night and it knocked me unconscious but didn't help the back much. :( Broke into the prescription stuff this morning I admit. But I'm feeling better. At least able to sit here ... and in the meeting this afternoon. Yuck.

Peggy, Kitten's right! Get out there and get your skinny self some clothes!! I have the company Christmas party tomorrow and tried on the outfit I bought for it about a month ago. Fits just fine, thank you very much. (It was a bit tight when I bought it.)

Now what was that strange sound??? Sounded like someone yelling Yeeeeaaahhh but I don't see anyone. Must be someone too thin to see? Could it be? Yes, it's Queen Brat! Pretty sneaky sitting up through the night just to start new threads and come up with these polls, etc. BTW, I voted too. And congratulations, Your Majesty!!! :D

Well, I dropped off my car last night and .... got a ride home. Just couldn't do the walk. :( My back was killing me and I didn't want to get halfway home and not make it the rest of the way. Thought about doing a nice short slow walk on the treadmill but just gave in to the medication instead and went to bed. Oh, it's tough to get old....

Who said that!?!?! :o Not me!

Well, I have decided to go to the luncheon/party tomorrow and be very very good and then weigh in as usual on Saturday morning. The true test! I've been thinking though that something will have to give soon. I've been on this yo-yo plateau way too long. I think I'll just have to be careful during the holidays but not beat myself up too badly and then do the same old new year's resolutions thing. Maybe 2002 will be The Year Of Jo!?

Hm, nice ring to it.

Well, a coworker just came in with a McD's bag and the smell is starting to waft my way. Could be time to go fill my water bottle!

Hope you all have a good one!
Much love, Jo.

Thought I would check in with everyone this afternoon. I have already been bad today. I'm over points by 1 already, and it's not supper time yet. Weeellll, we had another turkey dinner at work today, so won't be eating much for dinner anyway. I think it will probably be 0 pt. soup...and more water.

About the shopping...I did do some one lunch time about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Had to wait until hubby couldn't see how much I am spending. LOL I bought some size 10 stuff to see if I could get through until I am the weight that I want to be. After that, I will really go on a splurge. Yes, and I'll be taking the "male" wallet with me. Until then, I don't want to spend too much on in between stuff, cause I am hoping to be at my goal weight by the end of March at the latest.

I have to buy a bathing suit before then, though, cause want to do some swimming at the hotel that we are staying at during the holidays. I'm sure that I would be arrested if wore the one that I have now...

I just went to a Christmas reception with my boss. Now, my boss is a huge, huge man (ex-RCMP officer), while my husband is a teeny weeny person (you know shcool teacher with glasses). When we were finished at the reception, the boss and I left at the same time that a group of policemen were coming in. I knew one of the policemen, but he is accustomed to seeing me with my hubby. He looked the other way and pretended not to have seen me (with a strange man). I stopped to see if he would turn around, but he just kept on walking. I can hardly wait to hear the rumors that our friends will be telling over Christmas. (hehehe)

CJ - Do, do, do, do, do, do (In case you don't recognize that, it's a trumpet).

CONGRATULATIONS: 2 pounds. Great job on the weight loss. The journalling is working and the drinking water. What a great reward for you. Keep this up for the next week and you will be down to the 160s before Christmas. I'm so happy for you, you have done so well.

Kitten - Good to hear from you. How is your weight loss coming? What are you planning for Christmas?

Jo - I feel so bad for you about your back. I have done that so much in the past. Seems to happen with me the day AFTER I do something strenuous. (This could actually be a commercial for NOT exercising.) Hope it will soon be back to normal, but I know the pain is not pleasant while you are going through it. Of course, one of the worst things for it, is sitting...

Isn't it neat to be able to get into the Christmas outfit. You will look stunning at the party tomorrow. If you can, attach a pic, so we can see the outfit on you. I love to see everyone in their Chrismtas clothes. It's such a special time of year.

I'm glad you made the decision to not throw caution to the wind tomorrow. It is truly difficult, but I know that you can do it. You have made up your mind in advance, and that is halfway to completing your plan. Good Luck.

I am going out for dinner tomorrow night. Fortunately, I got the dinner menu in advance, so already know what I am planning to eat. In fact, it is already written in my journal. I still need to make a couple of adjustments, depending on how the food is prepared (fried, grilled, sauces, etc.). I think I have it down to the things I intend to have. That's the plan, anyway. This is a fundraising event for the Culinary Team at the college I work at. They compete in the world culinary competitions every year (this year in Singapore) and have brought the Gold Medal home for the last 4 or 5 years. Sooooo, you know what kind of dinner this will be.

Hubby was told that he was to be going back to Qatar on Jan. 2, but that was cancelled this week. Soooo, now I can get the BIG job barrel out. I think the January work will be to gut one of the bathrooms and renovate. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

We are still hoping to get the kitchen finished by Christmas, but I don't think the counter tops will be ready. The rest of that will have to wait until the January job barrel appears. People ask him how he stays so skinny. It couldn't be my whip, could it?

Hope everyone is staying OP this week (I've slipped a couple of times already, but not very big slips), that way you will have a good start on the Christmas season. Take care.

Just a quickie! Sitting here in my "holiday best" trying to get a day's worth of work done in another hour and a half. Then it's off to the festivities. It's pouring and foggy outside and just a miserable day, especially when you're wearing anything other than jeans, sneakers and an old sweatshirt but here's Jo trying to keep her hair in place balanced on high heels. I feel blah. Hope the party cheers me up.

Back is feeling better but I took another Doan's pill just in case so I'm going to skip the booze and go for water and/or club soda. The big trick is going to be the food. The buffet menu was planned by a skinny person. There's virtually nothing that isn't pasta or covered with fatty sauces, etc. What was she thinking!? (Well, knowing her, she was thinking of only herself. Typical. You know the type.) Wonder if it'd be rude to chew bubble gum throughout the luncheon? Guess I'd better not.

I confess to getting on the scale this morning and simply do not understand it. I've been so good but the scale's gone up. I simply have got to find a way to break this *@!# plateau!!!!

Gotta run. Still have a pile of paperwork to plow through. And another bottle of water to drink. Hey, every little bit helps. ;) Think when I get there, my first stop will be to locate the ladies room!!

Love you guys!
Jo

Thought you might enjoy this recipe:

Best Ever Rum Cake

1 or 2 qts rum 1 c. butter
1 tsp. sugar 2 lg. eggs
2 c. dried fruit baking powder
1 tsp. soda lemon juice
brown sugar nuts

Before you start, sample the rum to check for quality. Good isn't it! Now go ahead, select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. Check the rum again. It must be just right. To be sure rum is of highest quality, pour 1 level cup of rum into glass and drink as fast as you can. Repeat. With an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add a seaspoon of tugar and beat again. Try snother cup. Open second bottle if necessary.

Add two orge laggs, 2 cups fried druit, and beat until high. If the druit gets stuck in the beater, just pry it loose with a srewumdriver. Sample the rum agin, checking for toncestcity. Next sift 3 cups baking powder, a pinch or rum, a steaspoon of toda, and a cup of salt or pepper (it really doesn't matter). Shample the bum agian. Sift 9/2 pints of lemin juice.

Fold in schlopped butter and strained nuts. Add 1 bablespoon of brown
sugar, or whatever color you can find. Wix mell. Grease the oven and turn turn cake pan to 300 gredees. Schmeells goo. (ead you hartout Aunt B!)

TRICIA: You had asked me how I made my christmas grafics at the end of my posts? Well, I have to admit that I did not make the christmas dollz - I have an online friend that made those for me - I believe she uses Photo Shop Pro ... I have made a couple myself but they don't look as good as the ones my friend made - maybe some day, since I just got the program and have to learn how to use it. When I learn I'll make ya all a dollz, ok? After christmas tho. Here is one I did myself - you can see it's more "beginners" ... LOL

Hi everyone,
I have been trying to get though the last few days. My sister in law, Chrissy of our Thin Group, called me the other day from Michigan and said that she had to take my Dad, Papa to the hospital. He had gotten the flu and had been throwing up blood. He also hates going to the doctor or the hospital but she talked him into it, being a nurse she knew something was not right. So he went and they ran some tests on him, turns out he has a tumor that is taking up half of his stomach. So they did a biopsy and took some other tests, including a cat scan of the brain, they want to see if it is cancerous and if it is anyplace else. But we won't know the results of everything probaly till Monday. So I have been on the phone constantly with her and my brother, Skip is now living in Florida so we have kept in touch through the phone. I have talked to my Dad and his spirits so far have been pretty good, but it is so hard to think the worst. He is 85 yrs old and has always been in fairly good health so far. My Mom died about 5 yrs ago after a quad by-pass so he doesn't have her and my other remaining brother is Jerry and he is a bit older than me and mildy retarted, so he can't do too much. So bless my sister in law, Chrissy has been taking care of Jerry and going back and forth to the hospital to see Dad as has her daughters, my nieces Emily and Ellen who are 18 and 20 so they are a big help as well with everything. My gosh Chrissy has been through so much with the murder of my younger brother Rick a couple of years ago. We just got through the trial last year and she has had to deal with so much. I feel so bad that I am Indiana and no longer live in Michigan so plan on going there soon as soon as I know the results of the biopsy. I have been so upset these last few days and am trying to be positive as I usually am, but Chrissy says it doesn't look good. I feel so bad for my Dad  and all he has to go through, and I feel guilty that we didn't make him go to the hospital sooner. Chrissy had been working on him to get a check up and some blood work done for some time and he always says he is alright and doesn't need to do that. He is so stubborn, loving but stubborn. So we will see what happens on Monday and I hope and pray the news is good. :?:

Anyways, how is everyone doing on their program? I am not eating too much because my stomach is all in knots just thinking about my Dad. I just don't feel like eating much, Ken took me out to Grindstone Charleys after I got home from work cause he asked me what I had eaten and I said 4 Chicken In A Biscuit crackers and he said "What? You are going to go out and eat something, you can't just have 4 Chicken In A Biscuit all day" So we went and I did have some chili and a salad, all I felt like eating. Didn't want a big steak dinner with all the trimmings so at least I did eat something.

Sherry-Sher-Bear is that really you? Oh my gosh I am so happy that you are back and posted with us. Do you know how much I have missed you? I talk to CJ about you ALL THE TIME, saying I wish you would come back. I was even going to email you and ask you to come back. I don't think this place is quite the same without your wonderful and uplifting posts. How wonderful that you are back here. Yes I felt your wonderful hug and here is one back for you.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((SHERRY)))))) ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Jello-How is your back feeling? I sure hope it gets better soon. That can't be much fun with all that pain and having to take all the medicine. How did you party go? Did you do good or throw caution to the wind? LOL I'll bet you did really good if I know you. You have done so well on your weight loss and whatever happens, I know you would get right back on the band wagon anyways. Hope you had fun at the party. Let us know how it went.

CJ-Thanks for the cute song you did on #68, it fits with our group so well too. LOL I also love the 12 Days Of Fast Food one. Too funny! Way to go on that 2 pound loss, see I TOLD YOU IF YOU WOULD JUST KEEP ON WORKING ON YOUR PROGRAM IT WOULD PAY OFF. I know you are doing the HAPPY DANCE. HA HA Did you get into the rum too when you made your rum cake like I did? :dizzy: LOL

Tricia-I am here, were you getting lonely talking to yourself? LOL How are you doing this weekend? I know how you feel, cause right now I know I am probaly the only one here till tomorrow.

Peggy-Isn't that great having your skirt way too big? That is one benefit of losing all that weight. Good going! That is good that you got some new clothes-Size 10? YOU GO GIRL! How did your dinner go?

Chrissy-Thanks so much for you and Emily and Ellen being there for Papa, I just don't know what I would do without you. I love you so much. I am also very proud of how great you have been doing in your classes. You are so smart do you know that? Well you are. I am also so proud of you that you quit smoking, even with all the stress you have had with Ricks death and everything else you didn't give in. I know Em and El are sooo proud of you too, for everything you have become.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{CHRISSY}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} }}

Well guys time to get off here. I now work at Bath and Body Works for the holidays and have to call in today to see if they need me as I am on call. They have been wonderful to me and last night I though we might get the results of Dad's biopsy and I had to work and was having a hard time trying to be all happy as I was the greeter so the manager Christine was really nice and told me that she knew I had alot on my plate and it was nice of me to come in and to go ahead home and be with my family. That was so sweet of her, everyone has been wonderful there and Ijust started. They said if I had to go to Michigan they would cover my shifts so that is one less thing I have to worry about. :^:

Take care guys and hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday today.

Love you, Sharon

Morning Everyone,

First, Sassy and Chrissy {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
I know I only know of you two here online, but my heart can't help going out to both of you and your Dad. It's Christmas time and most of us are simply celebrating the end of the year and the holidays and here this news about your Dad comes in
:( I will definitely keep all three of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Jo How did the party go? Was it a blast or a dud? LOL. I hate parties that end up being duds. We already had our Christmas party and it was at the Olive Garden. I chose the chicken parm because even breaded, I think the chicken was better then all the pasta smothered in sauces dishes. And I only had the chicken--not the pasta with it.

CJ I think your graphics are just as adorable!!! I just have never seen anything so cute!

Peggy YAY for shopping, but boo to bathing suits. Last year, I thought I could get a two piece, ya know the one with the top that looks like a tank and then some boy britches (LOL) to go with it, ummm NO. And it seems like any nice one pieces were never in the right size. I ended up getting a NIKE suit and then it tore after like wearing it 3 times  Eh, well, I still wore it cuz it was just in our backyard pool.

Well, Everyone, as much as I am cursing this cold I have right now, I must say, it's made me happy too. LOL. I weighed in this morning just for curiousity's sake and found out I broke the 150 mark without trying! I'm at 149.5 now! WOO HOO! I think it's because yesterday, I couldn't taste anything at all so whenever I went to eat anything, I took like a bite and then tossed it. So I'm gonna try to guzzle my water this weekend and get that 149 down pat for Monday or Tuesday. That would be WUNDERBAR :smug:

Well, Hugs and all that. TTYL.

Sassy

Hi guys,
I just wanted to let you know that I am going to Michigan tomorrow afternoon. I just have to be there with Dad. Chrissy called and said they may do surgery on Tuesday to remove the tumor and probaly take a sample of his liver and some other organs to see if it is cancer than has it spread, by freezing it and sending it to the lab before they go on, on what to do.

I was talking to Chrissy and she said I need to talk with my other brothers, besides Jerry the slow one I have another older brother that lives in Florida who is flying in and we need to make some decisions with Dad of course as to what he wants to do. Cause he can't take care of himself if he has a feeding tube, which he probaly will have according to the doctor. He would have to stay in a nursing/rehabilation place, since we both live out of state and my Mom is gone. So we just don't know if we want to put him through that if it is too late. We also have to consider about the quality of life that he will have if he has this surgery. Since I am out of state as my brother in Florida and Jerry, my slow brother can't change a feeding tube. Plus Jerry can't be alone to live on his own. My sister in law, Chrissy is a nurse but has to work and is going to school right now and has a full load. There is no room at her house to take in Jerry and Dad so we need to talk about this. I just hope that they can delay the surgery a day or two till my brother Skip and I get there. I mean he has had this tumor they say probaly a few years now so what is another day or two? So we will see when I get there. The surgeon used to live next to my brother, Skip when they lived there and he is going to talk to him tomorrow and we will get the results of the biopsy hopefully tommorow. So I will probaly leave in the afternoon if I can.

So anyways I will keep you posted or Chrissy will when we find out more. No computer at Dad's house where I will be some of the time, but Chrissy has one.

CJ-Thanks for the support and I really appreciate it so much. I will get situated and try to get ahold of at some point. But if you have my Dad's phone number you can try to call me there. I will email it to you. Don't know if I will get to see you but who knows.

Tricia-You too are wonderul and thanks for the kind thoughts as well. Congratulations of getting into the 140's that is great.

I will be thinking of you wonderful ladies and will miss you, but I have too much on my mind right now so will post when I can.

Take care and love guys, you are the best.

Love ya, Sharon

Well, I'm fuming and I'm obsessing and I'm mad and kicking myself. I weighed in on Sat. with a 0.2 lb. GAIN!!! Now all I can think is "if only". If only I'd had one less of those appetizers. If only I'd drunk more water. If only I'd spent more time on the dance floor. I was really good at the party but I just wasn't good enough, I guess. Oh you guys, I have just got to find a way to re-jumpstart this weight loss thing!!!! I'm so frustrated!!!!!!

Sher-Bear!!!! I'm so happy to see you again!!!! It's you and me, kid! What do you say? Let's both get restarted on this weight loss game? :^:

Kitten, the party was OK, I guess. I did eat a lot better than I would have but, as I said, I guess I should have done better. As usual, most people hung around for the lunch and the speeches and then cut out for the afternoon. Only a few people stayed around for more dancing, etc. Rich and I were out of there by 3:00 and that was plenty for me. Turns out I missed quite the "show" when the ex-girlfriend of one of the guys showed up and started a fight with the current girlfriend. :o Ah, it's always one soap opera or another at this company.

Sharon ... {{{{{{Love you Honey!!!}}}}}} I hope you have a chance to come in here over the next few days. Keep us posted on what's happening. I've said a prayer for your dad and you and your family are in all my thoughts and prayers.

Sweet Tooth, haven't checked the weekly challenge yet but I'm heading there next. Last week's was too easy for me and now I'm spoiled. Can't wait to see what this one is.....

I guess I'll go now. Boss was in when I arrived at 7:45 this AM and usually that means he has to leave early. (I hope. I hope. :^: ) I think this is going to be a long week. Oh and I'm working on the sore throat, sniffles, sneezing stuff. What's the saying? Starve a fever, feed a cold???? Great. Just great. :(

Love you all!
Jo.

Hi everyone. I tried to post on the weekend, but when I went on the computer, I couldn't get a server connection. The cable connection just doesn't seem to be cutting it.

Also, I just got back from WI. Woo Hoo. Lost 3.75 pounds this week. I have officially made my Christmas challenge, also won the bet with my son by .25 pounds. Maybe more by next week. Another 3 pounds and I will be out of the 'overweight' category and into the high end of the normal range for my height. It seems that it wasn't that long ago that I was posting that I had finally moved from the obese category to the overweight category.

Finally went out shopping and bought 2 pairs of jeans and a new bathing suit - one of the tank top types and bikini bottom - SIZE 8. Yahoo. That, plus what I bought before should get me through the next couple of months until I am at the weight that I want to be.

Sharon - I am so sorry to hear about your dad. It is always difficult to see loved ones going through serious illness and being powerless to relieve the fear and the pain. Being at arm's length is even more challenging. I think you are right is going to Michigan to make sure that everything is being looked after and that you are with your dad. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Take care.

CJ - I saw the weekly stats. You are doing so well with the weight loss. This week you will soon be under the 170 mark. It has been a hard battle, but you are finally getting there. Way to go.

Jo - Sorry to hear about your gain. BUT, .2 pounds is not much, considering the party on Friday. I think you have done well to maintain the weight even though we have all been partying. This week will be better. Just keep on drinking the water, walking the treadmill and staying OP as much as possible. How is your back doing? That can certainly hinder the exercise program. Hope it is feeling better.

Kitten - Look at you go. Good to hear that you broke the 150 pound mark. I found that a really difficult mark to break. It seems like I stayed between 150 and 160 for weeks and just didn't seem to lose any significant weight. Once I got below 150, I seemed to start losing regular amounts again. Good goin'.

Sherry - It's good to hear from you again. Hoping to hear more from you after the holidays. Try to keep OP as much as you can during that time. Wishing you the best.

Well, I better get going. Have to run to a dr. appointment - looking at some melanoma that I have on my nose. Hopefully, I haven't left it too long. Talk to you later.

Luv,

Jello

Uh, hello?? Dis iz Jo. I'm a wittle 'tuffed up. Cough. Wheeze....

OK, it's official. I have a cold. Darn it!!! I thought I'd make it at least to January or February this year. I usually get one doozy of a cold each year and I guess this is it. Hopefully, I can knock it out before Christmas. Grumble.

I was Little Miss Weight Watcher yesterday. Had 20 points. Drank a gallon of water. Walked a mile on the treadmill also using my little dumb bells for half of it. Now if I can keep on behaving day after day after day after day....... :o Yikes! Maybe I'd better just concentrate on one day at a time.

Peggy, congrats on the weight loss and making the Christmas challenge!!! I'm so jealous!!! ;) Hm, maybe I should start making bets with family members too???

Speaking of bets, Rich and I bet on last Sunday's New England-Buffalo football game. His Patriots beat my Bills 12-9 in overtime so he gets to work on his wall instead of mine over the holidays. :?: OK, what that means is he wants to start on the kitchen (yes, we're STILL "starting" that project) by cutting a doorway through the far wall into the garage. I wanted to start by knocking out the near wall between the kitchen and dining room. OK, so he won that one but I'm not going to stop nagging  until we get this ball rolling!!! Any family member who's asked what we want for Christmas was told to get us Home Depot gift certificates so maybe we'll actually be able to afford this project!!!

Have to go now. Work awaits. (After Jo opens a new box of tissues!) Have a good one everybody!!

Much love, Jo.

Just popping in to find out where the heck everyone is...

Here I am, just about talking to myself. Missy Jo is adding the odd comment, but nobody else seems to be around. Must all be busy with Chirstmas and stuff. I'm pretty well finished, just to pack the car to go away Friday.

Yesterday was a stressful day. Consequently, I was up a pound this morning. Had some melanoma removed from my nose (now it's a BIG SCNOZZ), and will have to wait until the end of January to find out if he got it all.

Hope everything is well with everyone. Take Care.

Well Peggy, looks like it's just you and me again! And I'm not long for this world unless I can shake this stupid cold!! :dizzy: I'm so stuffed up, I can't see straight. Last night, I took some Nyquil and it knocked me completely unconscious! Didn't even hear Rich come to bed and turn on the TV for a while.

OK, enough whining about that. I'll now whine about something else. ;) Who the heck invented Christmas cookies anyway!?!?! Probably someone skinny!!! They attacked me yesterday! It was horrible!! I fought the cookie and the cookie won!!

However, I added up all the points last night and it actually wasn't too terrible. Higher than it should have been but only by a point or two. Just have to be good today. I've been eating home made chicken soup morning, noon and night and, except for the chicken, it's all veggies and fat free broth. Almost no points there. I just have to try to avoid the "I'm sick and I should eat whatever I want. Poor little meeeeee" syndrome.

Got on the treadmill with my little dumb bells last night too but just couldn't keep up the pace. Did about 3/4 of a mile in 20 minutes and called it a night. But that should be counted as my small success, right?

OK, I've talked about me me me me me enough already. Time to go. Sharon, if you're reading this, I'm still thinking of you and sending my thoughts and prayers. And Sher-Bear, get back here!!! I've missed your posts.

Boss alert!! Gotta run!!
Much love, Jo.

Hi everyone! Just popping in real quick here ... have to get ready for WI and I'm moving very very slow these days cuz MY BACK IS OUT! Cannot hardly move ... great timing, eh? I also have something wrong with my left arm .... must have pulled a muscle or something cuz I sure can't move it much ... (between the elbow and wrist) can hardly pick up a glass with it! Don't worry tho, I use my right arm to drink my WATER!!!

I talked to Sharon last nite and her dad is coming home today. As she explained to me, her dad has a very mild and treatable form of stomach cancer and can be treated with medication, or maybe a couple rounds of chemo if the meds don't do it. I will let Sharon tell you all the details, I just want to make it short so you all know that he is going to be ok. I believe she is going home Saturday.

Sherry:

So good to see you posting here again. You just bring cheer into the room when you enter! And NO - I didn't leave cuz you came! Silly girl!!!!! I just have been busy trying to get the house cleaned, some decorations up, and gifts wrapped (got a late start as we have been out of town for months)! Yes, my shopping is done - ran out of wrap paper so have to get some more after WI so I can finish.

Slyvia:

So good to hear from you also. You are such a good person taking care of your mother-in-law as you are. I know it must be really hard, hope things get better for you real soon.

Jo:

Hope you are feeling better soon and get rid of that cold. Not a fun thing to have at christmastime! So get well soon, ok?

Peggy:

You did it girl! You made your goal for christmas and won the bet with your son! Gosh, you have done so great. You just picked up speed and left me in the dust! LOL How is your nose doing now? Hope your report in January is 100% good.

Tricia:

Way to go girl getting into the 140's! Good luck on your WI Tuesday .... I'm still trying to break from the 170's to the 160's - I'm probably within a lb or 1/2 lb ... seems to be a "blockage" there that is stopping me ... hahaha I'll get there before this year is out!!!!!

Well, have to go get dressed now ... I'll let ya know later on my WI. Have a good day everyone!

Love, CJ

I'm here! And I'm feeling better. Not 100% but I'm kicking this cold I think. Still think I'll take it easy and get "all the way well". Big family Christmas dinner at my parents' on Sunday and I don't want to be sniffling and sneezing all over the place.

CJ, I'm sorry to hear about your back! :( :( I know how it is but yours sounds worse than mine was. Take it easy already, will you!?!?! That's an order!

Sylvia, I'm so glad to see you here! :) Sounds like you've got your hands full, though. Take care!

Sharon, CJ told us about your dad. I'm so glad to hear it's not more serious. Sounds like he just needs some family TLC and I bet you can provide it.

Sherry, your singing sounds just fine to me! Of course, mine sounds more like dogs howling or some wild animal in pain or something. You get the picture.

Well, I spent last night running around for final Christmas presents, tags and tissue paper, etc. Then I came home and finished the last (I hope I hope :dizzy: ) of my wrapping. As I said, we're going to mom and dad's on Sunday and have a mess of presents to cart up there. We got my sis and bro-in-law this huge grill thing for steaming lots of clams or cooking entire turkeys!! It weighs a ton. Think with my back I'll let Rich carry that one to the car.

I'm a little worried about the dinner. We're going out to a restaurant (all 16 of us!) for an early dinner after opening presents, etc. I'm going to try to make wise choices and Rich has promised to be ready to ... um ... "advise" me. ;)

I've also somehow :?: (don't know how THIS happened!) promised to bake some cookies or brownies to take up too. I thought about letting Rich do the baking (he likes to do it) but you all know how wonderful the whole house is going to smell even hours later. Whimper!! Again, I'm just going to have to be strong. (And picture all of you guys giving me butt-kicks!!!)

I should go now. Boss just gave me this huge project but I'm not going to complain. I'm working next week (Wed, Thu and Fri) and it's always really slow and boring around here that week. Most people take vacation and the phones hardly ring. This will give me something to work on.

Have a great day!
Much love, Jo.

Only days to go, yay. And only a half-day for me to work on Monday and then 10 days off, double yay!

Sherry - cool picture, you all look happy (and warm!!) he he

Jo - Glad you are almost better and I forgot to say the other day sorry about the wall. Ah well yours is up next :)

Sharon & Chrissy - I'm so glad to hear (from CJ) that your Dad should be okay. You girls need a break for a while. Please let us know as soon as you can how he is. Love to you.

Sylvia - lovely to see you! Sorry to hear about your MIL - that must be a lot of work. Does that mean you'll be waiting to try for a baby? I remember when my Mum had to look after my Dad's Mum. She did a great job, but boy did it bugger her out. Hugs to you too honey :)

All is okay here. Despite the festivities am maintaining at 143 now. So 13 pounds to go. I don't imagine I'll lose these few weeks, will be happy to maintain. Although from today we are babysitting our friends' dogs for two weeks, so that will mean lots of walks. Summer has kicked in though, so it is quite hot.

Well I'll be woring for two more months and then I'll be retrenched. Am starting to look for other jobs, but I won't mind a bit of time at home with Charlotte. Am thinking of being a waitress or something. Haven't done it before and it would be great exercise!!! Will also go back to Uni in January, but will only do one subject.

Okay well the little miss will be up soon, so I'd best log off. We'll scan some Christmas photos, so early in the New Year I'll work out somehow for you girls to see my beautiful baby.

I'll be back before Christmas. Meanwhile have a great weekend!
