Our July 4th is coming to an end...some of us are doing the Chicks to the Finish Challenge...but is anyone interested in another "short-term" challenge? Maybe a July challenge? Or a Labor Day challenge?

I would be interested. It might help me stick to the plan. Maybe a labour day challenge would be good. That gives us two months. Although I hope it doesn't take me two months to reach my goal. I would be okay with a July challenge also.

Anybody else ...... what do you think.

07-02-2007, 12:17 PM
I am always up for a challenge. Either one works for me. Whatever the group wants i am on board!!!

07-02-2007, 12:48 PM
I'm in for either one...I'd love to be at goal by Labor Day!

07-02-2007, 01:22 PM
I'm game. I'm feeling rejuvinated (sp?) and ready to kick this in gear. I have 2 more days to lose 5 lbs to make my goal of 15 for the 4th Challenge - but I'm happy where I am - 8-10 lbs in 1 month is AWESOME and I'll take it :-)

So heck yeah - How about a Labor day Challenge - it will give us 2 months, and in those 2 months there's no holidays to catch on or anything just nice warm summer weather to help us get outside and move our soon to be slim patooties !

07-02-2007, 01:30 PM
Sure - I would be game, maybe it would be the thing I need to keep my behind in gear !

I like the idea of a Labor Day challenge - would we "officially" start after the 4th ?

07-02-2007, 01:56 PM
I think a Labor Day Challenge would be great!

07-02-2007, 02:08 PM
Count me in. I've never joined a challenge before. It sounds fun

loma boo
07-02-2007, 02:25 PM
I'm game as well!

07-02-2007, 02:27 PM
I'm up for a challenge!

07-02-2007, 02:30 PM
I'm all for a Labor Day Challenge. Let's make it a POP one! I mean if we're all good for the 8 weeks who knows how much we can drop. :kickbutt:

I'll even toss in a prize for the winner. Can we say chia pet? ;)

07-02-2007, 02:57 PM
That's right around my birthday!! Sure I'll add another challenge to the ones I'm already in.... Maybe one more layer of accountability is what I needed.... I'll join in after my vacation week... And my goal would be below 140s....

07-02-2007, 03:02 PM
Let's do it. Labor day challenge. Gotta love it :smoking:

07-02-2007, 03:08 PM
I'm in.......I have a beach trip planned the week after Labor Day and a wedding to go two weeks after that. I need some strong motivation:)

07-02-2007, 03:10 PM
Great! Then a Labor Day Challenge it is. I guess we can start anytime this week. Since Labor Day is on a Monday and I hit my July 4th goal (:carrot:), I'm going to start today.

07-02-2007, 03:11 PM
And them we can celebrate Nancy's birthday with a piece of cake, right???

07-02-2007, 03:37 PM
Tina  I like the way you think!!!!!

Ok I will start my challenge today as well I have been POP so far so might as well kick it off today!!! I am off to make a ticker!!!

07-02-2007, 03:38 PM
I'm going to start on the 5th. That will give me 2 full days to reach my 4th of July goal - or see where I came in.

I'm in for 20 lbs for the Labor Day Challenge ! Time to make a new ticker.

This is a great idea Tina.

I was 2 lbs short of my July 1st goal - which I set because that is our holiday, so I am starting a new challenge fresh as well. My goal is to reach my goal, and even a little more would be okay by then.

We are going away to Whitefish the Sept long weekend, so my celebration will actually be drinking and partying at a quaint little bar down there called the Bulldog with a bunch of friends. Maybe I should set my goal a little higher to leave myself some room for a totally not on plan weekend!

07-02-2007, 03:41 PM
I'm in! I didn't join the 4th of July challenge so I am ready for this one right away! Since I'm still in the beginning stages....I'm in for 30lbs by labor day! My goal is to really get POP! I need the accountability.

07-02-2007, 03:42 PM
And way to meet that 4th of July goal, Tina!!

07-02-2007, 03:46 PM
hmm, sorry to keep posting but I just counted the days to labor day...and I think 25lbs is a little more realistic! So my goal will be 25!:dizzy:

07-02-2007, 04:02 PM
Thanks, Amy.

Labor Day is 9 weeks from today...for anyone who doesn't feel like getting a calendar and counting:)

07-02-2007, 04:22 PM
Tina - WTG on your July 4th goal!

I need some extra motivation, so I'm in. I've been such a slow loser lately, I'm going to set my goal at 11 lbs. Our anniversary is on that weekend too, so it will be a good time to meet a goal and celebrate.

07-02-2007, 05:20 PM
Okay, I'm in starting today....goal is 25lbs so I have to start now!

07-02-2007, 05:21 PM
Okay, I don't think I did my ticker right. Will have to fix it later, gotta get back to work.

07-02-2007, 06:35 PM
I'm aiming for POP Days. No point in getting my maintenance body trying to lose again.

Counting on my vacation 2 weeks after labor day. I want 65 POP days! I think I can do it! I hope I can do it! :chin:

07-02-2007, 06:40 PM
And then we can celebrate Nancy's birthday with a piece of cake, right???

:D YES!! I LOVE CAKE!!

07-02-2007, 06:51 PM
Okay - is this just a "challenge yourself" challenge? Set a mini goal challenge?
July 2-Sept 2 = 9 weeks and since I am a nice, sloooooooowwwwwwwww loser, I'll go with lucky 13...personal goal is to lose 13 lbs by September 2. That would put me at 150...I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can.

07-02-2007, 07:04 PM
I chose to lose 20 lbs in that time. I'm starting today and have my ticker ready.

Good luck everyone!

07-02-2007, 07:37 PM
I am going to set a goal of 15lbs - that seems like a realistic goal for me -- and anything above and beyond would just be a treat :D ;)

07-03-2007, 01:19 AM
Oops I got side tracked earlier and didnt get my ticker made but I will make it in a few minutes. I am trying for 20 lbs. The overachiever in me wanted to do 25 but I think i need to be more realistic. Good luck everyone!!!!

07-03-2007, 02:13 AM
Brit! You can TOTALLY do 25lbs in 9 weeks....let the over achiever shine and jump on the 25lb wagon with me!

07-03-2007, 03:02 AM
I would also like to join the challenge. I'm aiming for 25 lbs to be down to 148lbs. Yay! I'm excited just thinking about getting to that weight

07-03-2007, 09:42 AM
alright yall talked me into it!!!!! I will go for 25lbs!!!!! :carrot: By the way my scale at home said i was down 1lb from yesterday but I will not count that yet and only use the COD scale as official weight.

07-03-2007, 09:57 AM
I'm In! I will shoot for 15 pounds (subject to change after my WI today). I am starting to drag in my WL at about 1 pound per week , but I am sticking to the plan. I will set my ticker once I get my actual weight today.

:carrot: LETS GO LOSERS! :cheer2:

07-03-2007, 10:06 AM
I'm in for lucky 13. That will put me at 182 for my birthday (which is Labor Day this year).

07-03-2007, 10:49 AM
Yeah, it is a challenge!

By the way Cassi, my DD's name is Cassie...she is 4yrs old and very good at keeping me "on my diet". She will ask me if what I'm eating is good for my having my own nutritionist at home!

07-03-2007, 10:54 AM
Gotta love the kids, huh?

07-03-2007, 12:18 PM
ok...i'm motivated to jump on the challenge band wagon! I'd love to see 25 pounds in 9 weeks gone! But I wonder if I'm over shooting a bit......I think I'll be safe and go for 20.

07-03-2007, 12:47 PM
Yeah Britt! We can totally do this...we have 9 weeks!

Heather-I understand your want to be safe....but I know you are going to lose 25 anyway!!

I'm excited to get started...I've been POP the last two days and my BNWI this morning said I was down 1 lb...but we'll see what the post 4th of July W/I looks like at the COD.

Our COD is running an incentive for the 4th....anyone who weighs in Monday or Tues of this week and then comes in for a weigh in on the 5th and is down at least 1/2 a pound gets $10 in product....I'll take it! ;)

07-03-2007, 01:11 PM
O.K. Ladies. I'm in for 15. Have my ticker set. Hope the 4th doesn't set me back to much. Everyone please have a SAFE Holiday. :o)

07-03-2007, 03:11 PM
Made my 4th of July goal today!!! So I am starting the new one today...goal is 15 lbs...

07-03-2007, 03:17 PM
I am so all over this challenge, put me down for 25 too. I am really tracking my exercise to see if I really get 5 hours or more a week. I am kind of on the brink between gold and red. I lose at a snails pace of red and super fast on gold but..... So I am playing with a few things here.

wow KimS, you are doing awesome. 15 lbs in less than two months, and now your going to lose another 15 lbs in 2 months. Good Job!

07-03-2007, 08:55 PM
Congrats KimS!!!

07-03-2007, 09:53 PM
I am fairly new to this site, but I would like to join the Labor Day Challenge as well. I have lost 41lbs to date and would like to lose another 15 by Labor Day. We are going camping this weekend...I have pre-measured my food is to staying POP!

07-04-2007, 01:15 PM
i am also new to this site but need some motivation so i want in on the challenge...but whats the rules is it POP? I will set my goal mfor 15 pounds...gonna set my ticker

07-04-2007, 06:31 PM
From reading other posts, I am guessing a challenge means you set a goal for yourself to obtain by the given I will try to lose 20 pounds between now and Labor Day. Are there any extra rules I should know about?

07-04-2007, 07:02 PM
No's just nice to have a goal in mind. I like to make mine challenging but realistic. Basically I need to stay POP to make the goal. It is a huge encouragement to stay on plan to hit the goal...and once you hit it, you are so happy with yourself that you want to set another least that's how I am:)

07-04-2007, 08:14 PM
Count me in.!!!!!!..Im gonna set a goal for 25lbs too....

Im gonna have to figure out this ticker thing for the goal...
Labour Day here we come!

07-04-2007, 08:55 PM

07-05-2007, 03:15 PM

My goal is 20 pounds by Labor Day! I hope I can make it... ;)

I'll update my ticker after WI today, since I haven't weighed since Monday.

07-10-2007, 11:21 PM
I would love to join your challenge, as well. I find everyone on here so motivating. Maybe these short-term challenges will help me get to the long-term goal. Baby steps, right?

07-11-2007, 01:29 AM
Welcome to the challenge Renee! Those 15lbs are going to FLY off!

07-11-2007, 09:28 AM
Count me in! I need a challenge to lose the weight I'm gaining while exercising!
I'm hoping to get to 150lbs.. that would be 100 lbs less than my all time highest!

07-16-2007, 01:44 AM
Glad to see that everyone is making a good dent in their challenge so far. I just got back from a not so POP vacation lol. I am going to WI tomorrow to see the damage so I have got to get to working really hard here to get to 25 lbs. I will update tomorrow!!

07-18-2007, 09:37 AM
Bumping this up for Miss Hawthorne!!

07-25-2007, 03:58 PM
Ladies we seem to have forgotten about this challenge also. I put in for 16 lbs by Labor Day and so far am down 6, with 10 to go. THose are going to be a hard 10 as they put me at under 5 of my original goal weight.

Come on lets see some posts and stats on where you are at and what your original goal was. :D

07-25-2007, 04:05 PM
I'm still plugging away here! It's starting to slow down...11 lbs to goal!

07-25-2007, 04:14 PM
Thats Awesome. I hope that everyone meets their goal and then some by Labor Day. I hope to have mine + anyway.

07-25-2007, 04:18 PM
I've lost 9....and I have 11 to go before labor day!

07-25-2007, 04:23 PM
WTG Princess. With that kind of loss, you probably should have set your goal higher, you are doing so well. Good Luck All!
