Welcome!

WTG Andrea!

I'm 25 (26 in Nov), live in NC (land of heat and humidity) and work full-time from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm. It's a strange schedule that I'm still trying to get used to, eating-wise.

I'm so excited about this, I think it will really help to have each other's support this month!

I'd like to join in. My goal is to lose at least 6 pounds in July. I was doing so good and had lost 36.4 pounds reaching 187.6. I totally lost it in April and gained back 21.6 pounds! I lost 4.8 at my last W/I so now I'm 19.6 up and working to get that number down. It is such a challenge to stay focused and on track but I am giving it my all. I plan on having a successful July and I wish everone else much success.

Man, did I blow it today :o

I splurged on dinner which wasn't too bad, but then we had drinks  The sangria tasted so good, I may have lost count...I think I've used all my flex points for the week and I have until Monday to go!

I'm getting back on track tomorrow so I'm not going to stress or feel guilty (a real turn-around from the old me) Hope everyone is doing better than me  (can't be too hard!)

Hi everyone!

Just finished my second run/walk session for the week. Yay! It will take me a while to figure out this flex points thing. So far I haven't used any of them ... but I have been a little bit hungry at times ... I guess I just have to give myself time to make the adjustment.

princess_peach - how are you doing today? Back on track? Good for you for keeping a positive attitude!!

Hi TurboLeda - sounds like your goal is a good one. I see that you haven't got a massive amount of weight to lose ... so sometimes it just takes a bit longer right??? Go for it!!

Happy 4th all you Americans :)

Hi Erika, thanks for the encouragement!

Yep, I went to the gym this morning--72 minutes of cardio :dizzy: and I've been eating healthy all day so I'm feeling really good. So much better than the usual guilt I feel. Attitude changes are just as important as physical/health changes and I think that's my biggest obstacle.

Have a good day all!

Hey everyone! :)

:welcome3: to Susan!

I've found that when I have trouble on weekends, I just starting writing. I mean, I'll write what I want to eat and how good it will taste and everything and then I move on to other stuff, and the next thing I know my craving or "bad" moment has passed. Doesn't always work, but it's helped me a few times ;)

Good evening challengers!

I used some extra points today but I'm not worried ... I had only used 2 of my flex points so far this week. So, 24.5 total today. Including a beer :) Also I walked for an hour. The weather was just beautiful in the late afternoon here after a day of showers.

Hi Courtnie, where in BC do you live? My brother and his wife live in White Rock. I hope to get out to visit them soon. good job on a successful week!

Hi Andrea!

Welcome Susan! Wow, another lifetimer among us! I'm curious ... what made you decide to aim for a lower goal weight? No criticism implied! I am just wondering.

Princess Peach, I love your writing suggestion! I bet actually eating the food would not be as fantastic as I would imagine writing about it.

Hi Debbie! Wow 100 lbs - that is an amazing milestone. I hope you have major celebrations/rewards planned!!

Have a great night everyone!

debbie i am so excited for you....had work pays off ! I weighed in on wednesday and gained 1 lb. lot better than i thought to be honest. tonight my dd and i went for a bike ride for twenty mintues.

never thought the extra twenty plus pound of DD would wear me out but it sure did ( i take her in a pully behind the bike). had a blast with her. it is my goal to keep up with riding with her.

Princess Peach--I'll just have to be more careful and not give in to cravings! I should just go work outside or go for a walk. I find it's hard, too, when eating out.

Eusebius--My goal weight was the upper limit for my height. It was a higher goal weight than I felt comfortable with. I am in between 5'6" and 5'7" and my leader suggested I go with the range for 5'7". I like to have a "cushion" and not have to sweat whether or not I'll be two pounds over goal at weigh-in. I haven't had to pay yet!

We have had several family events so far this summer, and it's hard to turn down well-meaning relatives who prepare that "special dish".

I take long walks, though. I bought myself an iPod and download audiobooks. That is SO enjoyable!

Courtnie and Andrea - WTG on 1 lb lost!! Every pound counts! :cheer:

I was down .6 today. The topic at our meeting today was overcoming a plateau, and that's what I needed to hear. My meeting has had some staff changes lately, and I had offered to be a back-up receptionist. The leader asked if I would also fill in for her if she's ever gone. I'm not too sure I'd be good at it, but am willing to give it a shot.

Don't worry Andrea, there is still plenty of time left in July.

I am so proud of myself. I wanted to stop for fast food last night, but somehow I came straight home. I had two hot dogs for just 4 points! Hewbrew Nat'l LF hot dogs and white wheat buns (all just 1 point each) so I got my junk food fix without sacrificing points.

eusebius

I don't know how many of you have the Schwan's truck come to your homes, but I just found a good treat. It's a rainbow sherbet bar and it's 0 points. Also, have any of you tried Weight Watchers bread? I can't find it here.

Susan

princess_peach
07-11-2007, 10:56 AM
I haven't tried the bread, but I eat the bagels and english muffins all the time. If you're near a Wal-Mart, you should be able to find them there.

Nice find with the sherbet bar!

andreaphilip3

CHS_teacher

60 calories, 0 g fat and 6 g fiber. I also really like the WW sundae cones for 2 points each.

I haven't been able to find any of the WW bread items at our Wal-Marts here. Do any of you have a 1-point bread that you really like?

One of my fellow members was talking about BLT's yesterday...Bites, Licks, and Tastes!! I didn't nibble between meals at all yesterday, and I noticed a difference when I did my morning weigh-in at home.

i like arnolds added fiber wheat(1 pt per sl)

princess_peach
07-12-2007, 12:03 PM
Nature's Own brand is fantastic. They have "wheat n fiber" bread that is one pt per slice. They also have "white wheat" hot dog and hamburger buns that are one pt each. If that brand is available, I highly recommend it :)

CHS_teacher
07-13-2007, 07:05 PM
Thanks for the bread info. I'm going to try to bring more sandwiches to work for lunch when school starts in the fall, I think. I have been bringing the WW Smart Ones each day, and while I enjoy having something hot, the sodium is pretty high in them.

CHS_teacher
07-13-2007, 11:55 PM
I think I read a discussion earlier this spring on this board about them. Some posters liked them for portion control, but others avoided them. That's when I got to thinking of making a change. I'm usually starving by noon, though, and often I'm tempted to splurge by eating school lunch. Talk about getting too much sodium and starch!

Susan

princess_peach
07-14-2007, 11:11 AM
I have found some microwaveable dinners by Hormel. They don't have to be frozen/refrigerated (so you know they are loaded with preservatives) but they are only 6 points and so easy. I only have 30 min. for lunch and sometimes it's just easier to grab one of those.

Wow, Debbie...nearly 100 pounds gone. That's just wonderful!! It sounds as if you will make it before the end of the month!

I weighed in today and lost 2.2. It's the first time since January that I've been below my goal weight, and it feels so good to be on my way to where I feel best. I cut down a lot on between-meals nibbling, and it must be doing the trick.

Well, had a disappointing (not entirely surprising) gain today :(

So, the total for July was 2 pounds--definitely not what I wanted but better than nothing. I plan to do MUCH better in August!

Peach--you'll do great next month. I'll find out tomorrow, but I know I'm short of my goal by a bit, too. Summer gets kinda crazy sometimes--when fall rolls around it's easier to keep a regular schedule.

I ended July by losing 3 pounds of a 5 pound goal. I'm happy with that--just glad to know that the scale can move downward, after all!
