it's starting out soggy, but the sun will be out for the rest of the weekend!

We're getting ready to go out for breakfast, then I have a big grocery shopping to do. I'll have Carley all next week, so I want to stock up on healthy kid-friendly foods plus some extra "grandma" treats. She knows Jake keeps his "drumstick cones" in the freezer, so we have to stock up on those for her!
I'm going to go to ACMoore to pick up the supplies I'll need to make those adorable Fireworks t-shirts that Kiko suggested, too. I know the girls will have fun making them!
Supper today will be Salmon Kabobs for me, I saw them pre-made at Wegman's, and they looked delicious. I'll get some Steak Kabobs for Jake to enjoy, with baked sweet potatoes.

Doing anything special this weekend?

 It's a special weekend all right! I'm not sure if it'll be a fun one or not but I'll do my best to make it fun!

"Woodstock Delta" is looking good. We have a stage, lights, food booths, port-a-potties and a beer tent! Do we need more than that? Delta should be a safe spot this weekend as we have every cop from the area working here! I sure hope this goes off without an "incident". Doing The Vagina Monologues was a heck of a lot more fun. I don't even get to be on stage this time.

The Girls and I are planning a bit of quality time this morning. I'll be getting strawberries into the freezer and they'll be waiting to grab any that I drop. I don't go to work the Festival until noon and will be coming back here late afternoon for their feeding time. If possible, I will NOT be there tonight as I'm really not keen on hordes of drunken country music fans. Anyhow I'll be able to hear the whole show from my back deck.

If I'm never back here, you'll know I fell in love and became a roadie! Or is it a groupie?

Cottage and Ruth Morning to two of my favorite chicks!

We are racing out the door to Abigail's tball game, which I am pretty sure is going to wind up cancelled. Theur website hasn't been updated yet, so I don't really know. If so, we will get our errands run early.

More later..... hoping from a serious visit from the WHOOSH FAIRY tonight.... my weight hasn't budged in a few days and I have been doing well.

Have a super Saturday!

Hello Cottage ,Ruth and Kiko! ( And Hello in advance to everybody who hasn't checked in yet!) Today has been one of the days where the skies looked like they were going to open up and downpour all day...It just spitted a few times. We'll probably have a good rain during the night.

Well I'm finishing up day 6 of phase 1, I just did an unofficial peek at the scales (Monday Morning is my weigh day). It's Saturday night and I've lost 6lbs! I'm sure a lot of it is water but still...I'm like wow!

Anyways, I have company coming for dinner shortly, so need to cut this short.
Have a beachy day!

:yay:  Yippee for the Weekend and Drunken Delta boys whoopin it up !!!

Indigal: WOW !!!!!!! that is AWESOME!!!! :bravo: for the loss and stickin with it! :cheer:

Cottage: Sounds like a full day planned! "grandma treats" are the best kind! I remember in the days of yore, only at grandmas did I ever get Dutch Cocoa cookies... with a cold glass of milk.. My mom was a health Nut before it was even fashionable..and the only "cookie" allowed were these horrid smooshed prunes between some cardboardy tasting "cookie" ... Bleah...

Ruth: YEEEEHAAAAAA! Running off with a studly Roadie :s: you minx you! Sounds like the Delta will be in full swing with you in the middle of it! Have fun !

Kiko: Those teeshirts are adorable!!! What a great craft to do with your girliegirls! I shall offer up a RingDing at the weight altar that the Whoosh Fairy visits!

Today DH and I are off to the stores..we both need new sneakers, and he wants to look at some sport monitor thingamabob. Tonight is London Broil or Flank Steak..I guess is the other name fer it...
I was soooo out of it this morning, that when I got dressed to go out for a paper, and my "saturday treat" (a large Americano Cawfee) I put my bra over my nightgown :dz:  heeeeeeeheeeeeeeee I had to laugh at myself...I do that alot..not put a bra on over clothes...but I sure crack myself up!

Barb..if you're out there... I hope they aint workin ya to hard on that warehouse move !

Ok :dust: fer allllllllllllllllllllllllllll

(LC.... we're down to what? how many "sleeps?" :))

Happy Weekend, Chickadees!

Cottage: Salmon kebabs sound delish! DH and I had cajun blackened salmon last night, though. I don't think he'd eat it two nights in a row!

Ruth: Sounds like a fun time for everyone tonight! I bet it'll be nice to enjoy the music from your deck rather than next to a loudspeaker and a group of drunkies!

Kiko: Whoosh indeed! I'll take Schatzi's bet and raise you a Ho-Ho! (Uh oh, now it's just food porn!)

Indigal: WTG 6 lbs in 6 days is awesome! Sure, most of it is water weight, but it still feels good, doesn't it? :D

Schatzers:  You never fail to make me smile!! Have a great day of shopping, and remember, undies should never be on-toppies!!

nessa: I hope you have a great day in spite of it being a weekend. :) Do you have time to take a break and watch the furbabies in the pool...I think that would be so funny and relaxing!

ME: I got the trim in the kitchen "killz'd" last night! No more black trim!! Well, almost. I forgot the kitchen window, so I'll be doing that this afternoon. Getting that done was my big thing to do for today, so I'll be cleaning out the rose bushes and doing some weedeating this morning. I've also got laundry and housecleaning to do as we have friends for bbq tonight!

I'm SO happy with DH. He actually offered to go to the store today so that I could work at home. What a sweetie! Now, if I could just get him to check the mail and drop off the recycling as well -- then I won't have to go out at all till church tomorrow! What a nice weekend!

Finally, I've decided to hire a personal trainer. She's a kinesiology student at the university here and has her certification already. She's only charging me $8 an hour and I'll meet with her 2 or 3 days a week. I'm going to start not next week, but the week after and I'm really excited. I know she's pretty tough, so she'll push me harder than I would! Hopefully, I'll see some big results in muscle tone when all this extra fat is gone!

Well, time to hit the laundry! Have a beachin' :beach: weekend!

The warehouse move was successful but did take awhile. We had one HUGE trailer that we loaded with stuff for the dump and then filled a smaller trailer, a pickup and my station wagon with stuff to keep. Then off to the new warehouse to unload. I got to the Roughrider game and hour and a half after the game was supposed to start. I was a bit worried as I approached the stadium and people were leaving. :?: Was the game over already? No, it hadn't started yet. :carrot: There had been heavy rain and the pack was sitting there waiting for the game to still start. They did do the fireworks during the seventh inning as the weather was starting to threaten again. They ended up stopping for rain again in the 10th inning (score 0 to 0) and Brian and I eventually decided to leave around 12:30! DH stayed to see if they would resume the game. Brian was given a damaged bat since he was one of the few kids left after midnight. :D

We slept in this morning but are thinking of going to the water park this afternoon to check things out before the birthday party.

Hi Ladies,

Well it's scorching :flame: here. I slept with the fan on all night. Today will not be a beachy day as I will be treating myself all day. I feel on one's birthday all is forgiven, I just hope the scale can forgive me. Ay ya yay! I will be going dancing tonight :belly: , so hopefully most of it will be burned off.

Wel I hope everyone's Weekend turnsout to be a fun one. It sounds like everyone has a great weekend planned out. Big  for everyone.

Ciao for now Chicas

Motivated :celebrate: Hope that you enjoy your day. Did you find a new outfit yesterday?

Barb I am glad things went well and you were able to make it to the game. I enjoy the Roughriders games. We still have 4 tickets that we need to use.... wonder where the tickets are though....

India 6 pounds is awesome!! If I could get myself to string together more on-plan days, I know I would be more successful. I am on a roll with 3 days right now.

Nessa Hope your day gets better!

Schatzi You crack me up with your Ring Ding. Have fun shopping with DH. When do you start your new job?

Kim Hey you! Is your plan still to quit smoking on Monday? We are all here to support you! It is great that Weezle is quitting too, since you will both know what each other is going through.

The t-ball game was cancelled, although it wasn't posted on their website when I checked. Oh well, we got an oil change and grocery shopped. I also found some cute clothes for Abigail at Old Navy. I only let myself spend 20 bucks, though. I am not letting her wear any of the new stuff, but am putting it on the shelf in her closet for kindergarten. :)

Okay, need to keep going with the laundry, Megan is yapping away in her room and should be falling asleep soon. Time for a little me time.

One more thing, my best friend in the whole wide world is being induced with baby #3 as we speak. Send up a prayer for her for a speedy, safe delivery. :)

:crossed: and a prayer that all goes well with your friend, Kiko! Our grandson is arriving July 18th if Andrea can hang in there til then, so I'll be asking for plenty of prayers during that! :)

Amber and I made her a t-shirt today, and it turned out great. I bought some glow-in-the-dark paint and some glitter paint for the girls to have fun with.

Ok, Jake's asking where his supper is (:?:) so I'd better go for now.

Hi chickiedoodles!

I'm finally home from work. Only 3 more days to go until I have a day off! I WANT TO GO TO THE POOL!!!!

141 hours and 7 minutes smoke-free....

And, good news! I'm not going to record it on my tickie until Monday but I'm down 6 lbs this week. Kind of exciting for just quitting smoking! I was afraid I was going to balloon.

I'm so sad that I'm limited in what exercises I can do. I have 30 minutes of physical therapy for my shoulder twice a week, but can't do much of anything else except swimming, and even then I can't usually use my right arm. I was told a big fat NO to volleyball this summer, at least not until later in the season. Sniffle. I miss my Hip Hop Abs and playing sports.

Well, I'm going to find something to eat for supper. I have a ton of cauliflower in the fridge that I may steam and pour a pepperjack cheese sauce over. Kind of sounds good to me. Hope you girlies have a lovely Saturday!

Cottage I will have to check out the glow in the dark paint, my kids would love it!! PM me your email address so I can send more ideas your way when I come across them. It has been raining so much here that I have had to keep on my toes with things for the kids to do. :)

Weezle That is FABULOUS that you quit and have recorded such a great loss. Your body must be rewarding you. :) Seriously though, that is great. :congrat:

Good morning!

I changed my official Weigh day to Sundays for convienence. So I weighed in today, and officially lost 7 lbs this week!:cheer2: (since last Monday when I started SBD phase 1!:woohoo:

Not much planned today. I'm getting a mutton leg today which I'll cook up that should be good... It's a drizzly Sunday morning, day I hope to get things done around the house.

I reckon most people are sleeping...
I'll check in later, off to try and get some organizing done.

Congratulations Indigal that is great, you are doing so good. I am sitting at work and things have slowed down so I have time to check out the posts. Very interesting evening, my DH is out of the country and my son called thought he had broke his leg, had to do some shuffle to get someone to cover for me so I could meet him at the ER, but all worked out well in the end. He ended up having just a bad ankle sprain, thank goodness. So I was back to work until 5 a.m. this morning. Only one more night to go and then I am off for 12 days we are going to visit the inlaws in Texas this week, they do not have internet so probably you'll will not hear from me for a while. Hopefully I will be able to stay op, I think I will manage and plan to bring some items to help for the trip..

Everyone have a great Sunday!!! I will go home and sleep for a couple of hours and then I have Children's Church rotation this week and after that a nap before going back to work.

Brian and I went to the water park today (Hawaiian Falls). They shut everything down twice as the storms passed through but we still got to spend quite a bit of time in the water.

We got home to find out from DH that the hot water heater sprung a leak. We've bought a new one but it won't be installed until Monday. If it wasn't natural gas we'd just do it ourself but the city requires a permit and it's just a big pain. I'm not crazy about cold showers so I might stop by the gym on the way to work Monday and shower there. This was definitely an expense I didn't need since we ordered a new microwave on Friday. We would have waited if we'd known we'd have this expense. Oh, well, that is life.

I got called about 1AM to help with a change that went in at work and I'm still here 3 hours later. We just figured out which firewall rule got deleted that shouldn't and I should be able to head back to bed in just a few minutes.

It's a beautiful Sunday morning, bright and sunny with low humidity! I have absolutely nothing planned for today except making dinner for the kids when they bring Carley out. I'm not sure when that will be, as they have to get Caitlyn all settled in at governor's school in northern NJ first. Caite sure is busy this summer - She got back last evening from being a mother's helper in Bar Harbor, ME, and has to check in at College of NJ between 8 - 10 this morning. This internship will last 4 weeks, then she's home for a week before we all take off for a week's vacation. She'll be starting her senior year of high school in Sept., and things will never be the same again. It's both sad, but exciting. We've always been especially close, and it's so hard to let go.

That's enough of that, or I'm going to get all weepy.

Congratulations, indigal, for your success! Have a nice, cozy day at home.

Barb, that's a shame about your water heater, but at least you'll have a brand new one. I know they're not cheap, though. I'm glad you and Brian had some fun time at the waterpark.

Weezle, wow, that's fantastic that you can lose weight and quit smoking at the same time! Good for you!

Pearlrose, I hope your son's ankle isn't causing him too much discomfort, ouch! I guess it is better than a broken leg, though. Have a nice relaxing vacation!

Kiko, thanks!

Ah, Barb, I sure hope they pay you well! to the rest of the Chicklets!

Just a quick check-in to say the concert is going well with the usual problems from rain, lost kids and fake ID. I worked until 11 last night and will be doing the same today with a 90 minute break to care for my poor dear dogs. I've been too busy to check out the guys in the groups although I do have backstage access. Being a foundation director does have it's perks.

Today will be another similar day.

Hi all, I am a newbie....I have been lurking for a while and had been unsuccessful at registering until my son helped me....

I have been on and off of SB the last few months and have generally been low carb and working out for a few years for a 50 pound loss. I have regained about 15 pounds and it seems harder this time around. I know there is as Alli thread but I was wondering if any SBers have tried it. I was wondering how the diet works with the pill. It gets confusing to jump from low carb eating healthy fats to reduced fat and maybe eating more carbs... any thoughts from the crowd??

By the way even though I hadnt officially registered until last night, you girls have helped me through some challenging times without even knowing is, so for that I think you all:carrot: Suzy

Happpeee Sunday, everyone!

I'm in a great mood this morning! Fired up and ready to go! DH and I have church in 2 hrs and then I'm riding up to the "big city" with a friend and her kids. I haven't been to Wal-Mart in FOREVER. Time to make a trip!

I've gotten a lot done this weekend and it really felt good. Got the kitchen trim done, yeah! I also got rid of a rose bush (terrible location), and cleaned out the beds for three others. I am sore today! All that pulling and digging made my arm muscles ache. Now that's my kind of workout.

I am quitting smoking tomorrow. My trainer said that I have to quit before we can start, so I just have to do it! I'm not too worried about gaining weight after I quit because I will be working out so much more than I have been. I think it will balance out and I'll keep losing at a steady-ish pace.

Well, need to hit the shower! Have a great Sunday, ladies!

:welcome2:, sstambler! You're gonna love it here! These are some of the most inspirational women I've ever "met"! I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

Happy Sunday everyone! It's an absolutely beautiful day her in NoVA. Yesterday I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure while my house was being cleaned. So nice to come back to a clean house. It's one of my little luxuries that I treat myself to....we all need one right? My sister and family and with a 6 year old and 4 year old, you can imagine that my house isn't so clean any longer. Foodwise, I did ok, could've done better. I have been having stomach issues and not really feeling like eating much. I hope to be back on track to day. It's almost 11 and I still need to eat breakfast.

Since the house is clean and the garden in and weeded, I think it's a day of relaxing. I think my DH and I will go walk the lake since it's so nice out. Maybe even hit the pool for a few laps.

I hope everyone had a great day on the beach....stall cool!

hi all,
I too had a manicure and pedicure, it was wonderful. It was my reward.
I love shopping at the Wal-mart superstores. They are amazing.
Congratulations Suzy. I enjoy reading this post because the people here are so human and they have helped me.
Ruth, it sounds like whatever you are doing is fun. Woodstock, all over again. Wow, that would be amazing.
Have a great day everyone.,

Welcome Suzy! And hello to everyone else.

It looks like some of us have been incredibly busy this weekend. I'm jealous of mani-pedi's and getting your house cleaned, Shequila! None of the maid services come out where I live and so my slovenly little hovel only gets the attention I give it. Thankfully, I'm moving next month and hope to be able to find a maid service there. I will definitely treat myself to a cleaning a month. Especially since DH somehow forgot what a tidy bachelor he was (about 2 minutes after we got married).

Today for me marks a new start on this lifestyle change of mine. There's something about milestones that always gives me inspiration. A new week, a new month, whatever--they always seem to help me with that extra push I need to restart for the millionth time any positive change I am struggling with.

So, as soon as Meet the Press is over, I'm going to do my workout, have some breakfast and go to the store. I plan to concentrate on portion control and reducing fats this month, so I will be stocking up with that in mind. Then it's home to clean house and begin sorting/packing things. I'm only working 3 days this week and never later than 9pm so I'm really looking forward to having an almost-normal life!

Happy Weekend to All!

More later, I'm sure...

Hey all! It's a nice weekend here in Boston- last week was a scorcher so we have a bit of a break this weekend. I'm trying to plan out a 4th of July celebration... but it's so hard without a grill! I'm TRYING to avoid having to go to my boyfriend's friends places if possible but I don't know yet. I have a few days to figure it out! Plus we're going to try to make it to the Esplanade to see the Boston Pops, John Mellencamp, and the fireworks!

This weekend I spent the entire time with my boyfriend. Anyone have a good recommendation for ear plugs? lol. I knew he snored but I'd never have imagined this! I got wax ear plugs that saved my ears from a heavy metal concert, but they did not help one bit the past 2 nights. :P It was fun though... his creepy roommate was out the whole weekend so we had the place to ourselves and he was very sweet about the foods he made for me. He got whole wheat naan from the grocery store and a ton of tabouli, 2 kinds of hummus, green beans, and more veggies just so I would be able to eat everything. :) He doesn't quite get the ins and outs of SB, but he's really trying hard!

Hope everyone is able to stay cool this week and has a great 4th!

Hi all! Just wanted to check in. Sounds like everyone has been busy, as usual, and it's nice to see a new face in the fold! Hi, Suzy!

We made it back from the DMZ without being kidnapped. It was a WONDERFUL trip and we learned a lot. Tom said there were quite a few things that have changed since he was there ten years ago. We had the chance to go to the bridge where Korean families go to pray and offer things up for their families members stuck in North Korea and also for their hometowns in North Korea. From there, we went to hear an explanation of the DMZ by South Korean soldiers and got to peer over into North Korea. We visited one of the tunnels the North Koreans dug to try to infiltrate the South and got to go down and walk it all the way to the underground border. Over 350 meters at an 11 degree slope! It was quite a workout on the way back up! From there we went to the train station where they just recently had a train do a test run to North Korea and back. I don't know if you guys heard about it, but it was big news over here about a month ago. And finally, we got to go to the Joint Services Area, where they do the talks IN the DMZ! We even had the chance to go into the building that straddles the border and step into North Korea! It was a long day but I'm so glad we went!

Here's a picture of Tom and I (and the Republic of Korea soldiers!) at the train station:
http://www1.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=159037401/PictureID=3124175310/a=8222238_8222238/t_=8222238

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to resize it so I could upload it.

I was NOT at all good with my eating this weekend. Friday night I snacked a lot, too much South Beach friendly food, and then Saturday let's just say I had a little run-in with some Girl Scout cookies and ice cream. Five thin mints and two scoops of vanilla ice cream somehow made it into my belly and I was not happy with myself! However, Sunday being the first made it easier for me to kick myself back into gear and I had a lovely, beachy day to start off the new month. I am going to stay on plan all week and weigh again on Friday so I don't get discouraged if there was a blip in the progress.

I need to get the kids up and ready. We're taking a month-long Korean class and it starts today. Have a great end of the weekend, everyone!

Evening ladies!

Long day at work, only two more to go until a day off! Went to the store tonight and got all kinds of stuff for the next couple of weeks. We just love refried bean soup (posted recipe in Ph1 Soups) and make it all the time. I made some tonight and now I'm so full I can't eat anything else, even though I probably should since I didn't eat much during the day today. Also got stuff for a black bean and brown rice bake thing, haven't tried it yet, but it sounded good to me.

Tomorrow is finally official weigh-in day. I'm so ready to update my tickie! Also, it has officially been 1 week since my last cigarette. To the minute, even. I don't even think about them much anymore. It's a relief!

Well, jammies are calling my name. Hope you girls have a great night!
