Hi,
I'm Diana and new to this. I'm doing the Atkins because my sister wanted to do this and she didn't want to go on it by herself.
We started at the end of March and I have lost 28 lbs. Right now I am at 216
and my goal is to lose 66 more lbs. If I do this, it will be the thinnest I have ever been.
If there are any other Atkin dieters, feel free to respond.

Thanks, Callystia!
Contrary to what other people say about Atkins, I think it's a good diet.
I have never been so gung-ho about losing weight before, I just hope I keep it up.
Have a Great Evening!

Thanks to you too, Puncezilla,
I feel really good about this. Although this past Saturday I splurged a little. My husband and I went to Rock Bottom and I drank three Stout beers. It was so good. Then on Sunday, I weighed myself and maintained. But all day Sunday, I did the diet and when I woke up on this morning and weighed myself I lost 3 lbs.
I totally tripped out on that.
Have a Great Evening!

Diana, I've never felt so well as I do when I stick to Atkins, and the last time I had bloodwork done, my cholesterol and everything else were great too.

I think most people who call it a bad diet only know about the Induction phase, so they assume that's all there is to it--and also, they probably know people who don't read the books or do research, and are doing things like eating a pound of bacon for breakfast and nothing else! lol

Callystia,
I am still trying to figure my way around this website, that's why I didn't respond back to the following.
So here's my reply about what you said how people have a misconception towards Atkins.
I totally agree with that. When my sister in law, who is a nurse, found out that not only was I doing Atkins but my mom and dad are too, she was telling my mom how she had treated some young girls doing this diet, but this was before the new version came out.
So she was telling my mom how bad it was, then I jumped in and told her how different it is now. She said that south beach diet is better.
Well, I tried to make my case, but she acted like she didn't want to believe me.
So it's true how people think all you the food you eat is only induction phase food.
When I first came on this forum, I had lost 28 lbs, then the next day I gained 2 lbs back. So right now I'm at 216. I think it was the beer I drank.
So there I am?!
Thanks!
