Okay, so i am in highschool, and so (obviously) i live at home. My mom does not cook healthy at all. Most of the time it is something that came out of a box/bag, and put in the over for 20 min. Never any fresh foods. is what i need. I need some recipes that are:
-easy, so that i can make them myself
-relatively quick to make (so im not in the kitchen for very long)
-that i can make in small portions (if i have a bunch of leftovers my mom will be mad)
- use foods that are common and can be found at a local grocery store (so that i can tell my mom exactly what to buy)

My mom gets mad when i dont eat what the family eats, so i dont want to be in the kitchen cooking something for very long cuz she'll get mad.

Recipes that have cooked veggies in them would be great because i dont like raw veggies therefore i rarely eat veggies because my mom never cooks them.

So if you can either give me some recipes or point me in the right direction that would be great. :)

Well really the only thing I can suggest is to do a search for particular recipes you're looking for. Here's a site that claims their recipes are fast and easy, although I've personally never tried any of them :)

Frozen Veggies were a life saver for me when I was cooking for just myself. They're relatively cheap and they don't go rot. You can make a whole bag or half a bag, so left overs aren't really an issue. Just make sure you don't get ones with a cheese sauce or something added.

You could fill your plate up half with the veggies, and then just have a little bit of whatever it is your family is having. And if you go for seconds, just get seconds of the veggies. It might not be the healthiest option, but in your current situation you aren't 100% in control of your environment, so you have to make compromises.

Are you able to take responsibility for preparing one meal a week for the family and cook the sort of things that you want to eat? Have a chat with your mother and see if you can do that and add the ingredients needed to your grocery lists. I'm fairly sure that your mother wouldn't mind you taking responsibility for cooking a meal or so every week - she may very well welcome the break...

My mother went back to work full time when my sister and I were 13 and 14 respectively and it made more sense for us to start making dinner when we got home from school, else we wouldn't be having dinner at a reasonable hour. It also served us in good stead when we left home.

Look for cheap cookbooks in second hand book shops, garage sales, charity shops - those sorts of places. They'll also be great when you leave home. Have a look in your public library for cookbooks - they're bound to have some for learning the basics. There are tons of cooking sites online and you can get some fantastic recipes from them...
