Just thought I would get us going. I personally have not done well at all. I have gained back everything I lost this past year.
I am planning on starting fresh in Jan. Getting my kitchen WW friendly and looking for quick easy low point recipes that work with my crazy life.
I hope all is well with everyone. I am off to get ready for church. See you later today.
12-09-2001, 09:03 AM
Good Morning Everyone!! Man, I'm tired...the old man called me at 8:37 this AM to tell me we could come see the house at 11:00!! I was not functioning, so I did not pick up, I called him back. Getting some caffeine in me now. :D
Going to plan some meals later today and write Christmas cards. Have to go to work at some point...DH is going to help me get some of my files in order.
Pryia- Nice to see you, sounds like we're in the same boat. Good luck getting back in to the right mode!
Jul- Good for you getting back to church. I really wish we could find somewhere to live closer to the church I grew up going to. I think I'm going to go to the Christmas Cantata tonight though. DH has a fireman's dinner tonight...one for just the guys, so I may go. :)
Have a great day all!
12-09-2001, 11:35 AM
It is good to feel great again!!!!I am worried cuz the morning sickness has stopped, my energy is back up and I feel like running around non stop after being blah for the last 11 weeks!!!!(not complaining!!!:dizzy: )
Legal--Jim Brickman has a new CD...Saw it yesterday and thought of U!!!!!
Tech--Too many allergies in this house also with the real trees!!!I bought the neatest 10 foot skinny tree!!!!!It is beautiful and takes up hardly any room!!!I have just enough room with the beams on the ceiling to put the angel on top!!!
Lauren-It amazes me to see the price of rent!!Our house note for both houses are less than rent over there...
Pryia- U R the early bird this morning!!!I guess BFB is studying!!!!
Have a great Sunday!!!
12-09-2001, 12:13 PM
Got up this morning and decided to do some study. Have to do it in the bedroom, otherwise the PC calls and I mess about on this site. Glad everyone seems to be doing okay.
Pryia - I'm with you! Lost weight this year, and then gained it back with reinforcements. I need to stop messing around and I am determined that the New Year will bring a new me.
Take care everyone and I am still around - just lurking more than usual :D
12-09-2001, 01:35 PM
Nice to see all the posts. ~ So many of us are struggling at this holiday time with our weight loss efforts - me included. Too much good stuff around. I'm sure it helps some to keep checking in here.
Lauren - good luck on all of your projects! ~ Saturday nights are great nights to watch a Christmas movie (I have quite a selection :D ) - last night I watched A Christmas Carol.
Tech - it so tough to stay motivated, especially now. Hang in there. ~ And yes, I do love Christmas! ~ It was me who asked about the sewing. I want to learn how to quilt. I've taken one class so far.
I made a WW mushroom barley soup recipe this week that we liked. Only 2 pts / serving it said.:)
RR - I like skinny trees - they are kind of traditional looking.
Gotta run - today is supposed to be baking day.
12-09-2001, 01:52 PM
Forgot to update my mileage. I'm at 876.765 miles. Last year was 879.83 and the year before, 623.93 - so I'm moving right along.
Will update food log later if I get a chance!
12-09-2001, 10:30 PM
Church was good this morning and people remembered us!! Several noticed that I was thinner than I was before (yeah!!!)
O.K. who has tried Bocca Burgers??? Is the regular one any better than the grilled veggie one?? My husband actually came home with the veggie ones today he said "Hey, Michael Feldman is always giving these away on "What Do You Know" and I thought we should try them". After the first bite I told him..."This is why the company has plenty of them for Michael Feldman to give away!! Yuck!!" Therefore...I was really hungry for a good old fashioned greasy burger. Went out and got one for dinner.
Getting up at 4 in the morning. Have to drive DH to the hospital in Springfield for outpatient procedures. a friend is going to come over and stay with the boys so I don't have to wake them up that early.
Is everyone ready to make some New Year Health Goals?????
Think I'll start a thread for that. - jul
12-10-2001, 07:10 AM
Hey I like the idea. I will post mine later. I was thinking does anyone care if I use my mod duties and make it stick to the top. That way we see it all the time, and it does not get lost in the shuffle and come June we are not wondering about them. I thought the same for the Bios so people can learn more about each other. I decided to just do it, I can undo it if noone wants it up there. So if you want it to move let me know.
Gotta get ready for the torture. Okay so it really isn't but I thought I would make someone smile.
Jul-Hope DH is okay. Let us know how he is doing.
12-10-2001, 09:40 AM
Well, we saw the little house...let me stress little!! I think it probably about the same size as our apartment, except the bedrooms are smaller!! The MBR is 14'x10'9", we wouldn't even be able to fit our bed in there. They had a queen size bed, chest of drawers and dresser w/mirror in there. We have a king size bed and that would not even fit...well, it would, but we wouldn't be able to open the closet. I saw lots of potential in it, because the living room was fairly large, took up the better part of the house, but DH didn't! It was just too small and rustic. I will have to call the guy tonight and tell him we've decided it's too small. DH said he'd rather just pay the $75. to extend our lease 1-11 months. This way we can look at our lesiure and find something that's right for us. He's also canned the FHA idea for now. He wants to save a little first. He needs to realize that in order to save anything, he's gotta do the consumer credit counseling thing so he's not paying ~20% interest!! UGH...it's a viscious cycle!!
Pryia- I don't mind the stickies! It does make it easier, especially for the profiles. I have an idea though...and I don't want to sound mean, or snotty or anything, but there are a could profiles from people who do not post on this thread. I don't know if they did it by mistake, like they thought they were on the WW 30's thread, or what, but maybe we could clean that up, so it's just the people that post here? What do you think?
Jul- Glad church was good. I didn't get to go to the Cantata, but my mom said it was wonderful. It's a huge church, and they have fantastic music. I've had boca burgers, and they're OK, but I like the Morning Star Farms burgers better. There's nothing like a nice juicy real burger, but as a substitute, they're OK. I've had the Tomato Basil and the Grillers. Think I liked the Grillers better. DH thought it was OK, but he's a man, and he loves burgers, so it was not a good substitute for him.
RR- Glad you're feeling better!
Rabbit- WOW  that's a lot of miles!! Good for you!!
Have a great day all!!
12-10-2001, 09:42 AM
Hope you all had a great weekend. Has everyone gotten their holiday shopping done. I think I'm finished and I've been wrapping as I buy so I'm in good shape. I think I'm going to do my baking later this week so wish me luck to get it all packaged before I eat too much. I had a pretty good weekend and even enjoyed a hamburger and fries at the hockey game Saturday night (New York vs. Toronto - we won yay!) I think I managed to only go over a couple of points and it was really good!! We'll find out the truth tomorrow morning when I do my weekly weigh in. So far December hasn't caused too much damage but I know the worst is yet to come.
Jul - I've only tried the regualr Boca Burgers and I thought they were pretty good but also a bit pricey so I don't eat them regularily. I find if you put the regular ones on a bun with some mustard etc. then they're quite good and really low point if I remember correctly.
Rabbit - I'm not a Christmas movie buff but two of my favourites are A White Christmas (love it!!) and A Christmas Story (so cute and really funny! - great for the kids.) That soup sounds good - got a recipe?
BFB - nice to hear from you and we can all start making our plans for the new year - it's never too late!!
RR - glad you're feeling better.
Lauren - did you ever look at that house?
Off to do some work,
12-10-2001, 10:18 AM
LBH: I cleaned it up.
But hey 30's you need to get your BIO's DONE!!
12-10-2001, 11:32 AM
My goodness 4 a.m. was early!!! I think I'm totally wiped out for the day. Came home after dropping him off and waiting for the call that he is in recovery then I'll go back up (with boys this time). I'm so glad my friend came over to stay with them and that I didn't have to get them up that early.
Pryia: good idea, thanks.
I know it will help me to refer to it every now and then to keep reminding me of my goals.
12-10-2001, 01:22 PM
I've decided I need to start logging my food again, since I'm on this get it together plan! I think I'll start a thread for my own that will go Sunday to Saturday, since I've been weighing in on Sundays. I forgot to WI this Sunday, which is probably for the best, will sneak a peek tomorrow AM and see what the damage is.
Went to Costco at lunch today, thinking it was a good time to go...WRONG!! I stood in line for like 20 minutes!! I had to get the chocolate chips that they sell there, because there's a recipe for Oatmeal Choc. Chip cookies on there that is out of this world! I have to make some for our Holiday party at work here Thursday.
Hope everyone's having a good day!
12-10-2001, 04:55 PM
Good Evening!!!Got back from the health club feeling great~~
I did just the treadmill and the bike(my belly is starting to get hit by my knee on the recumbant bike soo I get tired of that quickly:D )
Elisa--Go Maple Leafs!!!!I have to cheer for the Redwings when Toronto plays them but I am free to cheer for the Maple Leafs every other time!!!!!:)
Pryia---I updated my -profile!!!!It was funny to read "that I was trying to conceive" back in Sept!!!!!
Lauren--What is a funny bone??????I read your food thingee and was curious!!I am with DH about the house being too small!!!He really needs to see the consumer credit..Anything to lower that interest!
Have a great evening all!!!
12-10-2001, 05:32 PM
RR- funny bones are peanut butter filled choc cake w/choc. icing thingys...like yodels, but w/PB and shaped a little different.
I'm off to the gym! :D
12-10-2001, 07:13 PM
Jul - hooray on the "thinner" comments at church!:) I like the grilled veggie boca burgers the best I think. I melt cheddar on them and eat with a 1 pt. bun. It's okay, but not a real burger for sure! The cheese helps!
Elisa - My shopping is basically done ( I still need a few gift certificates that I think dh is picking up for me). I have to ship this week also. ~ My baking this weekend just went ok. I ate a couple of the gingerbread men & some of the fudge. Sigh. I wish I didn't have to bake anymore, but I've got a cookie exchange party to go to next week and I have to bring 6 dozen cookies. I think the ones I bring home will go immediately to the freezer to be taken to the relatives for Christmas.~ You are continuing to do so awesome! I need to be more like you.:) ~ My favorite Christmas movie has to be It's a Wonderful Life.:D
MUSHROOM BARLEY SOUP
makes 6 servings. pts/serving: 2
3/4 cup of pearl barley
1 tbsp olive oil
4 onions, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 1/2 lbs mushrooms, sliced
4 cups low sodium beef broth
3 carrots, sliced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 tsp salt
1. In a large saucepan, stir the barley and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat & simmer, partially covered, until the barley is partially cooked, about 30 minutes.
2. Meanwhile, in a dutch oven, heat the oil. Add the onions & celery; cook, stirring as needed, until softened, about 6-8 minutes. Add the mushrooms & cook, stirring as needed, until the mushrooms begin to soften and release their liquid, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the broth, carrots, tomato paste, and barley with its liquid; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat & simmer, partially covered, stirring as needed, until the barley & carrots are tender, about 30 minutes. Stir in salt & pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley.
Per serving: 182 calories, 3 g total fat, 7 g fiber.
**note: I added probably 2 c of mushrooms and 3 cans of beef broth, and so it made more servings.
better run. Take care all!

Well it just goes to show you, you can have a burger and fries and still lose weight if you plan for it. Somehow I managed to lose 1.5 lbs this week - and no I'm not complaining since I generally work really hard at it, it's just that my body is so different from week to week. I can do the same thing one week and stay exactly the same (or gain a little) and the next week, lose 2 lbs. I guess sometimes it just takes a while to catch up - either way!!
Rabbit - thanks for the recipe - and the kind words. I've said it before and I'll say it again, having my husband do WW with me has made all the difference because my weak time is usually in the evenings and when he was eating whatever he wanted it was hard but now we both encourage each other (and cheat together on occassion. In the past 3 months (since we've done this together, he's lost 30 lbs!!! Can you believe it? It's so great he's decided to lose another 10. Next thing you know, he'll be working out....nah, never going to happen :)
Lauren - I've never heard of funny bones either but they sound really good!!!!
RR - Thanks for the Maple Leaf wishes - my husband is a huge fan and he loves to go to the games - they're just soooo expensive here. Hope you're still feeling good.
Jul - hope you've gotten some sleep and your DH is doing well.
12-11-2001, 10:05 AM
After my reality check yesterday, I am really going to try and be careful today! See what happens when you don't log what you eat, you have no concept of what you ate!! I didn't give a second thought to those funny bones, and it put me over! Even if I didn't have the funny bones, I still would've been .5 over, which means I didn't need the cookie either!! Live and learn...today's a new day!
Elisa- Congrats on the lose!! I just think that's the greatest thing that DH is doing this w/you...and 30 lbs.!! Men...they've got it good. I wish my DH would do it w/me, if for no other reason than to learn how/what to eat!
I forgot to WI this AM...darn!! DH gave me my Christmas present last night. He said I need it now, so there's no sense in having it sit under the tree til Christmas! He got me a thing called a camel back, it's like a fanny pack that holds water, with a little tube that you put in your mouth, and a jogger portable disc player with nice ear plugs. It even fits in the pocket of the camelback, so I can be completely hands free at the gym! :) He's soo sweet sometimes. I can't wait to try it out. I don't know if I'll use the camel back at the gym, I'm thinking I might look like a freak, but I'm definitely happy about the disc player. I'm still waiting for him to give me a list of things he wants!
Have a great day all!!
12-11-2001, 03:59 PM
Elisa - there you go again! You're my new hero! Congratulations on the terrific loss! I'm sure it does help having dh doing this too - evenings are also my worst time - I was thinking I need to stick close to dh in the evenings because I wouldn't want him to see how much I can eat!!:dizzy: 30 lbs is incredible. You both deserve gold stars!:D
Lauren - sounds like a cool Christmas gift! Can't believe you got it already.
2 parties to go to this weekend ~ ds comes home on Thursday (he's taking finals now) ~ celebrating Christmas with ss this weekend before he heads to his mom's ~ a busy time of the year!
12-11-2001, 09:40 PM
Not much new to talk about with the weight loss. So hopefully in the new year I will get my @ss in gear.
I hope things are going well with everyone. I really wish I could figure out what my problems are. And I need to figure it out before none of my freakin clothes fit.
So I have been reading stuff on line about losing weight.
12-12-2001, 08:46 AM
good morning all!
Okay how do I stop this bagel and coke breakfast. We all know it is not helping me.
Not a good morning. I have no heat but lucky for me it is not that cold here.
I know I have not been saying much lately. But I am here in spirit. And I know I have to lose this weight. I will get my act together soon.
12-12-2001, 08:59 AM
Just wanted to share this with you All!
12-12-2001, 02:16 PM
Wow, what a whirlwind the past 24 hrs. have been!! DH sent me an ad for a house for rent in Budd Lake, where we live now, for 1K a month. 3BR, 1.5 BA, LR, DR, FR, EIK, fenced in yard, 100x135 property, great area. I called and they said it's open, go see it, first come, first serve. So we both flew out of work at 2:15 and met at home, then drove over. We walked through it all, they were painting. Decided for 1K a month, we'll take it! Went home, called the number, told them we were very interested. She said go back to the house, meet her associate and he'll tell you the deal. So we did, and there were other people coming to see it and driving by. I talked to him on his cell on his way there, so when he got there, he spoke with us first. We told him we wanted it and he turned everyone else away!! So here's the story behind it: The guy that owns it is being foreclosed on. His wife left him, he went after her, they let the mortgage go, and that's why it's being foreclosed on. Somehow, we haven't figured out how yet, Harvey, the landlord, hooked up with John, the homeowner, and is paying John rent, in turn we are sub-letting the place and paying Harvey rent. In about a year, when the foreclosure is complete, the bank will take over and they will offer to sell it to us. As long as we still like it, we'll buy it! If not, the bank will either keep renting it to us, or we'll move on. I spoke with the town this AM and they confirmed that John is the owner, only since '99. They have no record of a foreclosure, but sometimes they don't find out until it's almost done. Also, the house is currently on the market, but is supposed to be taken off. As of this AM, it's still on, and the realtor doesn't know anything about it being taken off. DH's dad is looking into it, since he's in real estate and called his office for details.
UGH...gotta run...anyway, we're gonna try and get him to mail the lease to us, so we can review it before we meet him to sign it. More later!! Here's the link to the house... http://www.realtor.com/FindHome/HomeListing.asp?frm=byCtStMLSID&ct=mount+olive&st=nj&lid=1326071&x=0&y=0&poe=realtor
12-12-2001, 07:07 PM
Good Luck Lauren on getting the house!!!Sounds great!!
Well, I rented a fetal doppler for 3 months and it came in..I am dying to rip it open and find the heart beat!!!!!I couldnt wait until Jan soo decided to check online and found a place that rents the same one the MD uses in the office!!!Cant wait until supper done, eaten and cleaned up so me and Refman can explore!!!!
Must run!!!Time to serve supper!!!
12-12-2001, 07:19 PM
Pyria - I know how you feel - I am doing bad, bad, bad - these holidays are tough for me. I'm still working out daily but haven't been counting points. Hope the reading you are doing helps.
Lauren - good luck with the house. Nice that you have a family member in real estate to help you check things out!
RR - what fun!!
gotta run -
12-12-2001, 10:44 PM
I reached my goal 173!!
Then PMS hit full swing this afternoon....hope the chocolate doesn't affect the scale!!
We have our Open House Sale this weekend. I'm always incharge of making chocolates flavored with raspberry, cherry, peanutbutter. I was pretty good only tasted one of each!
Lauren: the house looked cute! Good luck it really sounds like an odd situation. The only advice I can give is to make sure if the bank takes it or whatever that you are given a 30 day notice to move. It wouldn't be fun to have a bank rep show up on your doorstep telling you you have to be out in 24 hrs.
I've got to head to the UPS site and print some slips. We're close to getting all our orders out!!! - jul
12-13-2001, 08:46 AM
Well it is Thursday!! THANK GOODNESS!!
LBH: House sounds wonderful. Just make sure it is not to wonderful. Some things in life are to good to be true.
Not much new here. Just thinking more and more about how discusting I am looking and feeling. I know that I need to get this weight off. And I know I have to do it now.
My new job is going well and keeping me busy. Hope to have more to say soon. But wanted you all to know I am here.
12-13-2001, 09:40 AM
Well, I haven't heard much more about the house. DH is gonna call Harvey today and ask him if he can p/u the lease for us to look over first. I am compiling a list of questions for Harvey. Going to find out who the lender is that's forclosing and see if there's some way to get around it and work directly with them. My FIL faxed the MLS sheet to DH, so I have that now. It's weird, the original listing price in August was 164,900, and the current is 189,900...you'd think it would go in the opposite direction!! Have to see what that's about.
Went to mom's and did all my laundry last night...man it will be soo nice to do it in my house!! Unfortunately I ate a burger for dinner, that she had in the fridge. It put me over, but I'm still doing better than I was! Then of course I made choc. chip oatmeal cookies for the party at work today and had to test a couple of them!!
Pryia- I'm hoping it's not too good to be true...guess we'll find out soon enough. Hopefully something will click for you and you'll get back on track soon! It's really hard this time of year.
Jul- Congrats on reaching your goal!! :D I think I'd go postal if the bank did that to us!! That's why I want to find all this out before we sign the lease.
Rabbit- You know you've gotta count those points!! Even if you keep counting above your limit, at least count!! Don't do a Lauren!! ;)
RR- Have fun with the doppler!!
Have a great day all!!
12-13-2001, 12:52 PM
Jul - hooray on the loss!! And on getting the orders out!:)
Pryia - glad that you like the new job!
Lauren - good that you are doing better. ~ You're right, I should be counting points. I'm not even writing anything down - very unusual for me.
12-13-2001, 06:08 PM
Still here - but still busy studying. Old brain don't work so good now :D
Thinking of you all and I too will get my Big Fat Booty slimmer in the New Year.
12-14-2001, 10:08 AM
I'm alive...I"m here for a bit...not a lot of time though
Work is busy...end of session stuff going on & I'm in charge of a major bit of it this year.
House is pretty much decorated. We're having the Xmas party for our 4X4 Club there tomorrow so a lot to do tonight & in the morning to prepare.
We will have family staying with us for a week over Xmas, so trying to plan food, etc. for that.
The good news is...I've dropped a pound or two without really trying. No exercise, but a lot of "running around" and I haven't had a lot of time to eat but when I have I've eaten pretty healthy instead of junk. Don't get me wrong, I"m eating, I'm not doing the starvation thing...I've been eating a decent dinner most nights, but lunchtime I've been running errands so I've been grabbing a salad w/ chicken & a piece of fruit when I get back to the office usually. Better than hitting the fast food drive through!
So life is busy & hectic, but overall life is good at the moment.
Lauren - hope everything works out with the house!
BFB - hope the studying is going well
Vicki - you're so funny...I can just picture you using that doppler thingy!
Hope everyone else is doing well & enjoying the holiday season. I'm really looking forward to the time off, even if I will be entertaining the whole time.
Gotta' get back to work...I don't want any of this hanging over my head over the holidays...want to be able to leave for a week & a half without worrying about it!
12-14-2001, 11:12 AM
Yesterday sucked...darn holiday party got me! :( I guessed on my points...don't think I did too bad, but I was still over. Today I don't feel very well, kinda funky stomach. I think it might be a combination of the post-nasal drip and stress over this house.
The house situation is going bad. This AM I called the town again, spoke to the collector's office, found out the name of the paying agent, whatever that is. Called them (in CA), they were nice, but said I had to call the mortgage people, also in CA. They gave me the name and number and told me to wait 20 minutes, til they get in. Also called an old cop friend of mine that's in real estate now. After he got over the shock of hearing from me, he said to contact the homeowner directly and ask him flat out what's going on. He also said to contact Harvey and ask him if he has a notarized letter of permission to sub-let the place to us. DH's dad said that an attorny letter will get us our deposit back, if he doesn't give it back willingly. You'd think Harvey would be careful, because he knows DH works for a major law firm!! I called the owner, but got a machine, so I'll try tonight. We still like the home and especially the property, but if it's gonna be more trouble than it's worth, we'd rather get out of it. I posted a message on a foreclosure website and got a response saying go straight to the owner and buy it, or move on.
LE- Any words of wisdom to ad? :) Have fun with your party! Hope you get everything wrapped up so you can relax and enjoy your holiday!
BFB- Glad to hear from you...hang in there! (I know I keep saying that, but I mean it!!)
Hi Rabbit, and everyone else!!
12-14-2001, 12:30 PM
Finished some last minute stocking stuffers today - so now I'm really done!:D Have 2 parties this weekend and then a cookie exchange party next week. It's such a fun season!
BFB - yes, I've been holiday binging and it has to stop! Good luck with your studying.
Legal - enjoy your party and your nice week & a half vacation!
Lauren - I have taken your advice and started counting points again today. :)
Hello to everyone else!
Enjoy the season!
12-14-2001, 05:44 PM
Not successful in hearing the heartbeat yet..THe book said 12-14 weeks and I am at 11weeks3 days..Refman and me giggled cuz we had that jelly stuff everywhere listening to my umbilical artery and lots of watery sounds...I guess I will really read the instructions tonight!!!

12-15-2001, 07:42 AM
Good morning all! Early here. I am up and awake. I will regret this latter though.
Okay I am ready to start WW on Dec. 26th. I got in the mail. The WW 2002 annaual WW recipes. But I left the book at work. From what I saw it looked good. I also have another one that is 15min. meals. I am going to go a buy all good food on the 26th. So that I can start this off on a good note.
Rabbit-Happy to hear you are done. I have to finish next weekend. Okay fine Christmas Eve. I always find the best sales. Really just getting GC for my mom. Need some ideas for something different. I thought of one for a manicure.
In April I am getting mine and B's picture taken. For mother's day! Have not done that together in 10 years. BAD MOM!!!
Well gonna go surf.
12-15-2001, 10:10 AM
Well, I can't seem to keep myself on track. I'm like, 17.5 pts. over for the week...which is probably better than not counting them at all, like I was doing, but still... Maybe I will wait until after Christmas, like Pryia, that way there won't be any crap around to eat, and I have a better chance of not screwing up. In February, it will be 3 yrs that I have been posting here, and since I first joined WW. I should be Lifetime by now, maintaining, looking good, wearing a size somewhere in the teens, like 12-14!! Instead, here I am just a few pounds below where I originally started, and just as flabby. Pretty much the only thing I've been consistent with since the beginning is drinking my water, but I've never had a problem drinking a lot of liquids! I think it's time go post some things on the New Year's thread and maybe hang them on the fridge too!
Have a great day all!

I counted my points yesterday and it was not pretty. :( It might have helped if I had counted them as I consumed them so I'd know where I was at. Counting is a step . . .
RR - good luck! Maybe you'll hear it soon. ~ I have cut back these last couple of years on the $$ spent.
Pryia - good idea to start out right on the 26th! ~ A manicure would be a great gift!
Lauren - I liked your goals for '02! ~ It is hard to believe it has been almost 3 years. Can it be?? I started here that February also.
gotta run - have a super weekend all - I got my walk in for the day!:)

I did something very bad....I brought home a cute 6 week old puppy. I was not intending to get another dog yet. Levi is still so fresh in my mind and I know that dogs like him are very rare. Anyway.....Ginger is a collie mixed with either husky or malimute (sp?). She is an adorable little fluff ball right now. I'm not enjoying the puppy training stage but she seems to be learning pretty quickly. I really should not of gotten her. I went to the vets to look at some newfoundland pups for a friend in CA who is going to be passing thru this next week and the vet tech. said..."you've got to see this other cute puppy we have". That did it for me! Now, I have to get to know the local kennels again to board her this next spring-fall for our show weekends...another expense (and I was trying to cut back our monthly expenses on my 2002 budget goals!!).
I still have a lousy cold - going on two weeks. It keeps me away from the food anyway. Can't seem to eat and breathe at the same time :) .
All the christmas gifts went out by UPS this week so I'm offically done with gift giving. We still have a few orders to get out this week.....and then I'll have to face the backlog of paperwork.
(2002 goal....send it all to the accountant every month and forget this "I'm in charge I'll do it all mentality"....didn't I say that last year?? Well, this year I mean it!!!!)
Lauren: Don't get too depressed by looking back and thinking about what you did not do. Instead, remind your self that a maintain is always better than a gain. Work from today not from yesterday.

Oh Jul- I have been in your shoes! When I first brought Niki home, I thought to myself, Mom's gonna kill me!! Well, I'm sure you know how this story goes, within a week, she was in love! And Niki was about a year when I got her! It will be 1 year on January 10th that I had to put her down, and I still miss her terribly. In fact just last week I was in tears thinking about her. I unpacked my Christmas decorations and there was her stocking right at the top of the box. I have it under the tree with Zeus'. Everytime I see a white shepard, or husky mix, I think of her. I don't think I will ever get over losing her, because she's played such a big part in my life...from age 18-32! Niki was a one of a kind dog also, there will never be any dog like her again. She was soo human, like she really understood what was wrong when you'd sit on the bed and cry into her fur, or when she'd look up at you with her beautiful brown eyes and that regal german shepard look on her face. Now I've typed myself into tears. :( Anyway, Ginger will be special in her own way! And how much more personality can you get than collie and husky or malimute?! Should be interesting raising her! Hope you feel better soon!
Rabbit- One day at a time! You'll get back on track!
Update on the house situation...This AM I called the listing agent and enlightened him of what was going on. He had no idea that John was renting it out. It kind of goes against his contract. He was going to call John and teach him the facts of life. :) He also filled me in on the status. The house has a contract on it! They actually made it to closing day, and found out about the lien on the house and backed down. The contract is still open, but now the buyers are waiting to hear from the lender if they'll do a short sale, which is when the lender agrees to take less than what's owed, just to get it out of their hair. That's what we were hoping to do. Needless to say, we won't be renting it, and now one of the paralegals at DH's firm will need to write a letter for us to get back our $500. deposit, because I'm sure Harvey won't give it to us willingly! Oh well, hopefully something else that's not soo complicated will come along soon.
Gotta run! We're going to see an apartment in a two family house in the town where I work at 7:00 tonight. It sounds really good.

Hi everyone! I should wait and post tomorrow because this thread will end and you might all not even know I posted! :)
Well anyway, I hope you do. I am sorry I've not posted. Time has flown and thigns have been so busy as I am sure they have been for all of you as well! I didn't read everything but I am working on it! This week was so busy.. dh's birthday, a dinner out with friends, karate (the little guy tested and is now an organge belt), shopping (neverending), etc... and now I found out my close friend at work is about to give birth! She is going to deliver any minute. :) I'm so excited!
My weigh in is tomorrow but last week I lost about 1.5. I'm still over starting though from my Thanksgiving gain. I am renewing my committment to this.
Rabbit, I think it was you who asked about IALAC. That stands for I Am Loveable And Capable. As long as I've been teaching, my friend, (the one having the baby), and I have sent that to each other any time we are being observed, or a parent is unhappy with us, or whenever we have doubts and insecurities.. I have tons of doubt and insecurity about my weight loss progress lately and thought if I put IALAC where I can see it often on here, it would help me.
Lauren, what a house whirlwind! Sorry to hear it didn't work out. I was all set to congratulate you and breezed though the latest post you wrote updating us. I hope you get your deposit back!
We looked at a house last Friday and I was tempted to take it... the price was good.. the location was great... the thing is we just weren't excited about the house. We need to be excited. We didn't wait this long to do without that little exciting feeling. So we are still looking. I am ready. I feel like I really need this to happen kind of soon. I like it here but I need closure on this whole process. Although, I stand firm on being positive. I know we need to wait for the right one.
RR, glad to hear you are feeling better! :) Now you can enjoy the holidays. :)
RAbbit, and Lauren, I started around that time too! I guess it has been almost 3 years. :) I started right after Pryia when LauraF was our leader on the thread. I believe it was President's weekend that I started coming here.
Congratulations to those of you who are done shopping. I am hoping to be there tomorrow. We have a very long list and it is not simple.. there are gray areas... hard to explain. But by the end of tomorrow I hope to be really finished. :)
I have a lot of reading to catch up on.
Good to see you Jul, and Legal.
More from me coming soon. :)
Happy Weekend, all!

Okay it has been 3 years. Or it will be in Jan. Sometime in the middle. Cause I came here right after I had my gallbladder out. I vowed to lose weight after that day when the nurse weighed me in front of the ex and said it aloud. 240 pounds. Okay so now I am less by 5 pounds. But that is iffy too. Cause I have been eating again again and again.
So LBH, Dani this is it. We have been here for 3 years. Let's go into number 4 looking and feeling better!
I know I am ready. I got the latest WW magazine in the mail today. Notice all these signs of WW suddenly popping into my life. GOOD THING!!!!
Busy day tomorrow. I have 5,000 pounds of laundry to do.:(
