Default My Fridge isn't cold!

I don't where else to put this and my mom is out of town so I can't call her. We just moved into this place about a month ago, there was no fridge so the landlord bought one. I JUST went shopping yesterday and have hundreds of dollars of food in the fridge and freezer. We have an outside freezer but all of my fruit was in this one. It's all completely thawed so I can't refreeze it and it's too much to eat in the next few days. I think I am going to cry.

Could you maybe store it in a cooler with some ice for a few days? I am so sorry, i know how that feels. Hope your fridge gets fixed soon!

Oh, doesn't that make you want to cry! I had my freezer go out last year and it was stocked full of meat. Cook everything you can so you can refreeze, eat, and give it to the neighbors! I hate the thought of throwing away good food. By the time I realized mine was out, everything was spoiled - into the trash it went! Hope you can salvage some of yours.

The thing is, this fridge is less than a month old. We are renting and the LL came buy to check and call the repair place. Turns out that their office is closed and they can't get anyone here until Monday. They also don't pay for replacement of any food. There is no meat in this freezer, just fruit, veggies, popsicles, and all my fudgsicles DARNIT!

I might be wrong, but I think you can refreeze fruits and vegetables. And if you don't take the fudgesicles out of the packaging, just refreeze them and then when you eat them, put them in a bowl and eat with a spoon.

That stinks! Sorry!!!

I put the fudgies, popsicles (they are DH's, I swear!), and veggies in the other freezer because they didn't say not to. The fruit bags say do not refreeze so I am not sure on those. I want to but I am torn on whether or not I should.

How long was everything without coldness (sounds strange )?

Do you have friends who will let you use their refrigerators and freezers?

Maybe you can cook the fruit into sauces, muffins and the like.

Sorry thins happened!

I made waffles this morning when things were frozen and now everything in the freezer is thawed but all is still cold for now. I am on the east coast so it's now 15min til 10 here and I am afraid I am going to wake up and everything will have to be thrown out. Most of the stuff in the fridge is non-freezable items like lettuce.

We just moved here so we only know 1 person here, our LL.

Hey what a great way to meet your neighbors! Who could turn down a desparate thaw-victim!?

LOL I guess I should say we "know" them but not well enough to ask to put food in their house. We live out in the boonies! This is too much drama for me right now. DH is actually in the ER right now because we found a tick on his arm when he got home. ARG!

Actually, it stopped cooling again today so he is going to replace the fridge on Sunday. I called and are going to be reimbursed $320 by our renters insurance for lost food. As soon as I have about an hour of free time, I need to go throw almost everything out.

This has nothing to do with the fridge but I am an everyday weigher and I was down another lb this morning. I deserve that news after that day I had yesterday.

yeah but too many claims go against you... so be careful with that after all it's his fault.
