Default My fat beagle

Kenzie Peg was advertised in WalMart, "Free Pups to Good Home" in 2001. My mom had just decided to let us think about getting a puppy, so she asked if we'd like to go have a peep at them. We walked away with this gorgeous lil girl!!

It was so hard just to take one, since there were 10 of them romping around their mother. I think we got the right one though!

Kenzie is now going to be turning 6 years old on July 4th 2007. I cant believe how fast time has gone. Here she is, my fat-dog!

I miss her so very much, and I am often sent pictures of her by my parents, who look after her now that my sisters are getting ready to go to college. She was my weight loss inspiration. I was the only one of my siblings to ever want to take her out to the park or just for a walk.

I currently have a white lionlop with bright blue eyes. His name is Button and he chose my partner Dan as his soulmate and he completely loathes me, but I still tolerate him! Dan has offered me a beagle pup when I reach my weightloss goal, and I am glad I have awhile to go because in the UK, you will not find a beagle pup like Kenzie for less than $1600!!!

So expensive. I actually just want a rescue beagle though

Aw, so cute! My dog does the "sit pretty" trick too.

Rescues are the best! Not only do you not pay an outrageous amount for the pup, but you get the satisfaction of saving a life and helping solve the pet overpopulation crisis.

I definitely agree. I couldnt imagine paying $1600 for a puppy, when I can get a perfectly adorable, lovable dog for free. All I'm after is a life companion, not a show dog!

Kenzie is the best though. We've taught her oodles of tricks. My favourite is her play dead trick, which we got off of the movie Toy Story.

You hold up your hand like a gun, and say "Reach for the sky!" and she'll go up into the position she's in in the picture above, and then you shout "bang!" and she falls motionless to the floor. Its sooo adorable! ^_^

Awwww, SO cute! Kenzie looks a lot like one of my beagles--she does the 'sit pretty' trick too. I have two beagles and love them like crazy! One of them is really fat...she is also on a 'diet'.

Well even adopting in the UK might provide challenging because the don't have the problem we have in the states with the pet population. My friend from across the pond looked for a dachshund puppy for several years before she found one. Things are just different there, but in a good way.

I remember I wanted to adopt a shelter dog but they wouldn't let me because I am a college student

Kenzie died on September 13th. Kind of the reason I've gone off my weight loss journey really. She had a tumor on her neck, and they think she might of had encephalitis or West Nile.

I do miss her something awful, it even makes me cry to see people walking beagles in our town anymore

*I hope this helps with your loss.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
